Ok, I hate this. Despite my criticism towards its inaccuracies on the Odyssey, I like Epic and was even an enthusiast. The crew, especially Jorge, was one of the biggest reasons why I liked it. Their enthusiasm and sense of humor were really fun.
I seriously thought he was a nice guy :( . Not some perfect messiah or anything, because overglorifying celebrities is bad, but I thought he was chill.
The allegations COULD be exaggerated but the apology kind of shows he wasn't innocent either. I still want to give him some benefit of the doubt but these accusations are nonetheless upsetting.
I genuinely can't name any other celebrity that I follow other than Jorge, Troy Doherty and one or two boy bands and a couple fictional characters. But the fact that even then, I still managed to stumble on problematic stuff and it's annoying. It shows how common these kinds of issues are. I hate celebrity drama, especially if actual people are hurt by it.
I seriously need context because I only got to see his apology and not the ex gf's side of the conversation.
Hello, Epic fandom. This might ruin your day/night, but it needs to be brought into awareness.
There have been allegations against Jorge from his ex-girlfriend regarding his emotionally abusive behavior towards her. She has been trying to reach out to others for years to share her story, but few people have shown interest. But when she does get noticed by Epic fans, she has faced harassment from them for speaking out about her experiences.

Apollo and Asclepius art from your blog ? Let's goooo !!

What an interesting aspect of Apollo's character is his wrath but also the immediate regret after doing some punishments. The concept of grief and self blaming himself, questioning the will and nature of the Fates.
I often think of how all the myths give meaning to life, a reflection to human nature
#them !!#I love their story so much. Peak father-son bond right here#greek mythology#Greek myth art#apollo#asclepius#Phoebus Apollon#Dadpollo

I agree with basically all your points and would give the same rating. Glad to see you've enjoyed the movie as well !
I heard it was supposed to be 3 hours long. That would explain the pacing issues and why some characters are underdevelopped.
I would have absolutely loved more focus on Mira and Zoey as protagonists instead of just Rumi, especially since they both have endearing and fun personalities.
Also it's funny how half of the background characters have more lines than 4/5 of our MAIN villain group 馃槄. That quack doctor, some of the fans, etc...
I would definitely have liked the other Saja boys to have more than one personality trait. Them not being as relevant as Jinu, that I can understand, but something of substance would've been cool.
And also more informations about Rumi's parents is something the fandom absolutely craves now. Seeing how they'd fall in love, how Jinu isn't the only demon with a more human side and potential reactions from Celine and the third sunlight sister.
That would be cool for a prequel or a spin-off (let's be real, with how successful Kpop demon hunters is, there's no way they won't make any sequel 馃ぃ).
Okay, I've finished watching KPop Demon Hunters, so I can finally give my two cents to it.
I've absolutely enjoyed the colorful animation, the songs, the humor, the voice acting etc. You can tell that the creators of the movie put a lot of effort into it. I like the type of personalities the three main characters received, since the creators managed to give them a more energetic, childish, playful side without falling into the adorkable trope or making them annoying or insufferable in any way. They allowed them to not take themselves seriously in their bubbly times, and be mature and self-concious in their most difficult ones. I like the entire concept of "fighting your own demons" both in a literal and metaphorical sense (Rumi finally accepting herself and no longer hiding her marks), as well as the "find your own voice" message. I also love how the relationship between Rumi and Juni was written at point too, it seems like the screen writers wanted to give a huge middle finger to all those Dark Romance/Romantasy books by showing how the Enemies-to-Lovers or Star-crossed Lovers tropes are supposed to be written.
However, I think that my biggest complaint when it comes to this film is the lack of exploration into the characters' backstories, development, inner fights, depth etc. We do know that Mira was the black sheep of her family, or that Zoey thought herself to be useless because nobody appreciated her songs or lyrics during her time as a rapper in the US, or that Juni abandoned his family just to live a luxurious life and now he's haunted by his past, or that Celine believed that by advising Rumi to hide her real self everything would be fine. But all of these secondary conflicts seem to have been resolved way too easy and quickly. At one point it seemed like everything was a little bit too rushed out. It's almost as if the creators were telling themselves: "These types of stories/plot scenarios were already told before and people would probably get bored if we make this movie a little longer, therefore we don't have to take a deeper dive into it." Which is kinda infuriating to me because I wish we could've seen more of Mira or Zoey fighting their inner demons in this movie as well. I wish we could've get one or two scenes of Juni alone questioning his morality or battling those voices as well, without the presence of the Gwi-Ma in the background manipulating his emotions and decisions whenever he's back in the demon world (people would've definitely cried more at his death scene then, when he's fully gaining his soul back). I wish we could've get more of Celine too, since we're talking here about a woman who was a former hunter as well and then later got emotionally attached to a half-demon girl whom she raised as her own daughter. Maybe having a final scene with her apologizing to Rumi for telling her keep her real identity a secret and then having them two reconciling themselves at the end would've made her a more likeable character. Overall I believe that if this movie would've been about ten-twenty minutes longer then I would've been more content with it.
Final Score: 8/10

Honestly, if given the chance, I would have named this color the exact same thing.
And yeah @the-real-seebs is right. This color causes inner rotting and is especially dangerous towards young actresses and gay painters.
Edit : I initially tagged the wrong person 馃槄. Sorry

you can just feel the self-congratulatory glee of whoever named this paint this color, like they truly thought they were so funny and i think you're so funny paint color naming man good job paint man

It's trueee. They kinda remind me of Gaston from beauty and the beast.
Whenever I stumble across one of these Romantasy Greek Mythology Retellings the MMC always looks like this:

There's ALWAYS a great emphasize on that strong jawline and high cheekbones that come out of nowhere, even though it's not necessary to get reminded about their existence for the 387th time. They come out in only two colors: boring pale caucasian man and boring tanned caucasian man. Hobbies? Who needs hobbies when you have muscles to flex?!
This is exactly how Perseus felt in Crown of Serpents, and how this Cadmus feels in Heroines of Olympus.

Just a quick glance at this image was enough for me to know it was 100% about the Bacchae.
A proof of just how well-made it is 馃グ. Another detail I really love is the women's different gazes : some of them, like Agave, are empty. Others are entranced and others amused. It shows how versatile Dionysus' influence can be in a subtle but cool way.
And it's just a work in progress? I can't wait to reblog the full version.

something mythological in progress

Alphys hate is often exaggerated. I get if she isn't some people's taste, but don't treat her like the spawn of Satan or smth 馃槶
She's just a clumsy and socially awkward woman who made mistakes, some small some bigger (like almost everyone in the game) and needed help to own up to it.
She put up a whole charade in Hotland so Frisk would befriend her (thus endangering them), she did an awful accident with the Amalgamates and Flowey, she couldn't confess her mistakes to the families.
That makes her imperfect. The ways she reacts, her fears and the sudden serious turn she takes instead of being a fully "quirky otaku" or "Undyne's smol GF" makes her a very interesting character.
Also a lot of the comments here explain it very well.
drawing dr alphys art in 2025 and encountering the recurring alphys haters again is making me think like... did y'all even read the true lab entries?? like you know the monsters that were sent for the experiment were dead right? they were literally waiting for them to turn to dust. And the experiment wasn't to revive them or prevent them from dying. it was to make their souls persist after their bodies dissolved like human souls do. that way they could collect monster souls and slowly build up to being able to break the barrier.
the monsters waking up and becoming amalgams was completely unintended and unexpected. i see a lot of people act like Alphys did some horrible experiment on like living people to turn them into horrible fused monstrosities and it's like No?????? Can you read???

Lil confession time : these days, I'm kind of sick of hearing about Medusa all the time.
And it's sad because she's super cool and I get why she's interesting. Unfortunately, the bad retellings are so oversaturated with her that it ironically damaged my interest on her. All the misconceptions, all the other interesting parts of Perseus' myth that are ignored, all the cliche tropes... I just feel like there are more fascinating parts of mythology to explore, that don't involve recycling the same stuff.
Of course, there's nothing wrong with rambling about a figure you like, I'd be VERY hypocritical if I thought so. But I'd probably not be as annoyed with the Medusa stuff if it wasn't so often mixed with things I don't like.
Now, a question for my moots : did any other figure of mythology have the same effect on you ? When you have nothing against them but the oversaturation is just too much ?
(I won't really put the Medusa tag here since the post is kinda negative, even if, again, I don't hate her).

I love these two ! Peak brotherhood

I have always adored how caring and loving Hermes is to his siblings especially to Dionysus. The love and dedication to Dionysus, to raise him despite the dangers, he was always there for him in his ups and downs.

Yeaaaah, considering how Apollo has a history of not reacting very well to his kids' deaths, Dionysus probably had to give some serious justifications 馃ぃ. If even Zeus's wrath isn't enough to stop him getting his revenge, said justification must have been flawlessly convincing.
(I mean, Orpheus sometimes disregarding Dionysus as a god justifies the wrath enough. And it's mostly a maenad related accident. But Apollo would still be pissed)
Iirc in one source, he had to punish the maenads responsible for this. I'm headcannoning it's because Apollo either forcing him to or to reconcile with his half-brother.
Also, in case some may doubt Apollo's fatherly involvement, here is him mourning Orpheus with the muses (mostly in the second text) :

After see your c贸mic of Dionysus giving the death tl Orpheus as a "gift" to see Eurydice again. I imagine Apollo arriving later to see his son and Dionysus be like: "fuck, right, he is my newphew" considerkng Orpheus is Apollo's son lmaoo
Apollo: Dionysus, have you seen Orpheus?
Dionysus: ...
Apollo: Dionysus. Where. Is. My. Son.
Dionysus, sweating nerviously:
*apollo ready to shoot him with an arrow*
Dionysus: i can explain!
