Such Colorful Lives Legacy Challenge

Hi everyone! I've been working on this legacy challenge for a while, and it's finally done! I'm going to be posting my gameplay, so if you want to get a feel for the challenge, follow along. Or, if you want to play it yourself, please do so! I'd LOVE to see how it goes, so tag me if you do! ❤

General Rules

Play on Normal lifespan

Occult sims are optional!

Feel free to give sims corresponding hair, clothes, and house color schemes, but this is completely optional!

No cheats that will give you an advantage over other players

No money cheats!

Begin gameplay with a starter budget

If any of these rules make gameplay less fun, ignore them! I want this challenge to be enjoyable for everyone <3

Generation 1: Red

Even before you achieve fame, you’re the most feared intern in the office. You are confident, sassy, and will do whatever it takes to succeed. You rise through the ranks of the staff at the San Myshuno Times, making enemies and forging alliances along the way. You’re an acquired taste, but your stamp of approval is desired by up-and-coming and professional artists alike.

Aspiration: Painter Extraordinaire

Career: Critic - Art Critic

Goals:

Complete the Painter Extraordinaire aspiration

Max the Critic career in the Art Critic branch

Generation 2: Orange

Your parents weren’t the nicest people, but you never cared. You had an uncanny ability to make everybody laugh, and it filled you with joy. You love making others happy, but your motivation is often lacking. Your first two romantic relationships fail due to your apathy and lack of effort. You’d much rather tell some jokes or stream yourself playing guitar than go on a date. Your carelessness leads to two unplanned pregnancies, and to no one’s surprise, you’re not the most involved parent. But when you get older, you meet someone who you decide is worth fighting for, and your first successful relationship begins...

Career: Entertainer - Comedian

Generation 3: Yellow

Your childhood was chaotic; whether it was an insufficient amount of income, a lack of good parenting, or your parent’s new fling that caused the instability. As you got older, you decided that no other child should grow up in such an unstable place. So, you decide to become a politician. Your lack of money growing up also caused a fairly materialistic mindset in you. You desperately want to be wealthy, and save nearly every penny you make.

Traits: Ambitious, Outgoing, Good

Aspiration: Fabulously Wealthy

Career: Politician - Charity Organizer

Goals:

Complete the Fabulously Wealthy aspiration

Max the Politician career in the Charity Organizer branch

Max the Logic and Charisma skills

Gain and maintain a pristine reputation

Donate to every charity at least twice (100 simoleons the first time; 1000 simoleons the second time - after that, it’s up to you!)

Generation 4: Green

You were always the kid with dirt on your face and carrot sticks in your lunch instead of chicken nuggets. Therefore, you were always the kid who got teased. But it didn’t matter. You had your plants and your outdoor crafts and your baking, and you were happy. And then you met your spouse, and you were even happier. You got married young, and are fiercely attached to your partner. You’ve never had a person to yourself before, but them? They’re yours. At first, you’re happy together. But then the honeymoon phase ends, and you learn that you are NOT meant for each other. The final straw is when your spouse cheats on you. Your divorce follows quickly after. But it’s okay. You love your plants and your outdoor crafts and your baking, and they love you.

Your parents didn’t have the best relationship; in fact, it was downright awful. You inherited your parent’s love of nature, but your biggest desire is to raise a happy family. As a young adult, you move to the beautiful island of Sulani, the perfect place to raise a family and make a positive change to the environment.

Career: Conservationist - Either Branch

Generation 6: Purple

Your parents always told you your intelligence was a gift, and the sky was the limit. And you took that to heart. You dream of being the first sim to discover aliens, and through your dedicated work in the field of science, you succeed! But then you are abducted, and your love of aliens turns to fear.

Traits: Genius, Paranoid, Bookworm

Aspiration: Nerd Brain

Career: Scientist

Goals:

Complete the Nerd Brain aspiration

Max the Logic and Rocket Science skills

Max the Scientist career

Marry another scientist

Be abducted by aliens and get pregnant (you may cheat for this, and it is up to you if you keep the baby or return it to its home world)

Generation 7: Pink

Your parents were paranoid beyond belief, and spent more time inventing devices to protect themselves from the “aliens” than they did spending time with you. So, your bestest friend growing up was your dog/cat. Animals are your main focus, things such as romance and friendships falling to the wayside. As an adult, you move out with the desire to open and run your own veterinary clinic. You treat every patient and pet owner with the utmost respect and class, and your clinic quickly reaches 5 stars. You don’t have any plans to fall in love or get married, but when a client catches your eye, you know it’s fate. You only have one child together, and it’s quite late in your life, but you don’t regret it. Well, that’s a lie. You do regret dying while your child is so young. They needed you, but you couldn't be there.

Aspiration: Friend of the Animals

Career: Veterinarian

Goals:

Generation 8: Black

Your parents died when you were just a teenager, and in order to make ends meet, you began to “borrow” from your neighbors. A friend of yours hooked you up with a bit of a shady job, and it turned out you were pretty great at being a criminal. Your hacking skills are unparalleled, but your cleaning skills? Not so much. You and a fellow coworker have an on-and-off romance, but when you both discover there’s a baby on the way, you decide to make it official. But after your child is born, you know it isn’t working out, and you call it quits. Your kid sees their other parent on the weekends, but mostly live with you in your messy apartment. Suffice to say, you are not a stellar parent, but you try. Your child just seems miserable all the time…

Traits: Kleptomaniac, Geek, Slob

Aspiration: Chief of Mischief

Career: Criminal - Oracle Branch

Goals:

Complete the Chief of Mischief aspiration

Max the Mischief, Video Gaming, and Programming skills

Generation 9: Gray

You’re not miserable, per say, but you are not a happy sim. Because of your chaotic childhood, you like things neat, tidy, and perfect, but that’s rarely how life works out. In fact, your life is a mess of business deals, horrible bosses, and passive-aggressive coworkers. Working in business is not fun! You dream of finding love, but that’s a bumpy road as well. After two failed relationships, you finally meet the one. But hey, three is the magic number!

Traits: Perfectionist, Gloomy, Neat

Aspiration: Soulmate

Career: Business

Goals:

Complete the Soulmate aspiration

You were the youngest of 3(+) siblings, and the most chaotic of them all. You’re a wild whirlwind, and your parents were worn out before you even learned to walk. As a kid, you get your first violin, and it changes everything. Your pour all your spastic energy into your music, your greatest passion. Your future spouse is just as passionate about their creative hobby, and while you two never have kids, you continue to birth your creative ideas until you die.

The Divine Feminine Legacy Challenge

Welcome to the Divine Feminine Legacy Challenge!

13 Generations : 12 Zodiacs / Ends in Divine Feminine

Must complete indicated career, aspiration, skills, and any other goals listed

Each generation has an associated color palette to integrate into their look and home

No money cheats allowed

Use any mods / cc as you wish to customize your gameplay

How to determine the next generation (some verbiage used from Pinstar as they describe it best!)

Strict Matriarchy: The Founder must be female. Only girls are eligible to be named heir. Male children cannot, under any circumstance, ever be the heir to the next generation. Matriarchy is key!

Bloodline: To be eligible to be named heir, a child must be naturally born from their previous-generation parents and be able to trace an unbroken bloodline back to the founder. Adopted children may never be named heir.

Heir Law: I will personally be using Democracy (aka asking followers/friends to chose the next heir); however, if this is not possible you are welcome to chose another method like first-born or the child with the highest relationship to the prior founder

**Any similarities between other TS4 challenges are purely coincidental – as of June 2022, this has not been fully played through so if you find any issues please let me know! I do have quite a few packs so apologies if this does not fully fit your game play; adjust as need be**

Plot: Typical Aries – doing what you want, when you want, and how you want it. Even as a kid, you were always taking risks and moving to the beat of your own drum, much to the turmoil of your household. While this has given your life a lot of…adventure, you often have a hard time making friends because of your fiery personality and sharp tongue. Your family has cut ties because their hearts couldn’t take one more screaming match. But a new “family” came along in time who knows exactly where you can fit in (specifically small bank vaults).

Plot: While you definitely inherited your stubbornness from your Aries mother, there’s not much else that relates you two. Being so set in your ways, you like routine and have worked hard at creating an oasis of calm and beauty.

Other: Maintain a thriving garden of 10+ plants including a cowplant  / Take a yoga class every Sunday with your mom to try to instill calm into her life

Plot: You spent a lot of time on the internet researching for her mother – ‘how to create hybrid plants’ or ‘what to do if your cowplant eats you’. What was once a chore for mom, became an outlet for you. A world beyond the garden where people had thoughts, opinions, and could joke or argue behind the anonymity of a screen. Oh, you are GOOD at this! Finally real people to talk to aside from the queen of routine. Hopefully you won’t word-vomit all over your laptop.

Aspiration: Friend of the World

Career: Social Media > Internet Personality

Skills: Charisma, Comedy, Research and Debate

Other: Maintain a blog or social media profile / Create your own club and regularly hold club meetings every week / Marry a club member

Plot: Your first memory is when you set up a “free hugs” booth at your elementary school and was promptly teased for being too sensitive. Mom says you're an empath, but that memory was the first lesson in hiding her pain in the hopes of not burdening anyone else. You found art as a teen and slowly healed from the bullying you experienced as a child with art therapy. You finally realized that being an empath is a gift and should be spread to all.

Plot: After your mom’s incredibly public breakdown, you were left to pick up the pieces as a teen – a task you are of course completely ready to handle. The first item to check off your never-ending list was to get them out of the media frenzy. The next, to start over in a new town. And once the list was done, it was time for another – 1) go to law school, 2) pass the bar, 3) clean up everyone else’s messes. A perfect task for a perfectionist, including your side hobbies of baking and bowling– more tasks that need perfect precision.

You throw yourself into a career as a food critic to avoid all that stress, but get fired as you give everyone five stars to not hurt their feelings.

Career: Critic > Food Critic > Restaurant Owner

Other: At level 6 of Food Critic career, leave job and purchase a restaurant / Once married, maintain two secret relationships

Plot: You've always had a knack for getting to know what truly lies under someone’s skin. You figured it out from a pretty young age when waiting tables at your mom’s restaurant and being able to convince someone that they actually adore their meal, rather than send it back. When you interview at the bureau, the interviewer actually wept as you managed to uncover their traumas that they kept hidden deep in their subconscious. In short, you are the top dog for your uncanny ability to uncover the truth. Your only outlets are video gaming and fishing as they don’t require too much thought.

Now there’s where the research is – but perhaps too dull? Maybe being a scientist would work out well, or an archaeologist would be pretty cool. Your mind moves so fast it’s hard to keep you up with even yourself sometimes!

You’d much rather pour your energy into getting high marks on everything you set out to do and thrive on that little ‘good job’ you get from your boss every so often.

Rocketshipping Family

James (コジロウ) 47 y/o

After leaving Team Rocket (and finding out Jessie was pregnant) James was worried about what they were going to do. Luckily, Nanny and Pop-Pop welcomed them with open arms to their cottage. There, he helped run the Pokémon sanctuary and also picked up other odd jobs in order to build up their savings. After Jessie started working, he was able to just focus on helping out on the daycare and takes over after Nanny and Pop-Pop retire. The family splits their time between Kanto and Hoenn (for Jessie’s work).

Jessie (ムサシ) 47 y/o

After having Jules, Jessie decided to also start working so James wouldn’t have to work a million jobs. Jessie decided to go into fashion where she was very successful. So successful she was able to open up a shop in Hoenn and get a home there! She still designs for coordinators and Pokémon alike. While primarily designing for coordinators, she’s done stuff for trainers and gym leaders and even designed Misty’s wedding dress!

Julie (トモエ) 16 y/o

Julie, who prefers to be called Jules, is quite talented and a very well rounded trainer. She likes trying new things and is still deciding on what kind of trainer she’d like to be. She cares deeply for her Pokémon and puts them first no matter what the circumstances (much like her father). After meeting Cane, she couldn’t bear to let him travel alone since he was doing pretty bad. She tends to drag him everywhere and makes him try new things with her. Jule’s team consists of her Galarian Meowth and Pokémon that are conventionally “ugly”.

Jean (ウチダ) 10 y/o

Jean, like Cane, is just starting their journey. But unlike Cane, they are very good with Pokémon. Some say that Jean’s able to to communicate with Pokémon (maybe thanks to Uncle Meowth). They’re a bit of a troublemaker but everything they do is in good fun. Jean prefers to travel in a nonlinear way, going region to region in no particular order. They’re always someplace new when Jessie and James check in. Jean’s partner is an Alolan Meowth.
