If you stick a knife nine inches into my back and pull it out three inches, that is not progress. Even if you pull it all the way out, that is not progress. Progress is healing the wound, and America hasn’t even begun to pull out the knife.

Israel is building a “Museum of Tolerance” on what was once the oldest Muslim cemetery in Palestine until 1948. The Mamilla cemetery held the graves of Saladin’s soldiers who fought during the Crusades and many Muslim scholars and Saints. Israel uprooting Palestinian graves is nothing new, but the fact that they have the hubris to do it and then build a museum that “seeks to promote civility and respect among Jews, and between people of all faiths and creeds” on top of it is disgusting.

I just spent five minutes trying to decide if I should tag these screencaps of Spock adjusting the shuttle’s life support controls as “NSFW.” Which is the nerdiest and most embarrassing guilty conscience I’ve ever experienced.
