Making Cosplay for no reason... Just because why not.

Whenever I get bored or have free time lately I just jump into a new cosplay while I wait for all my wigs I ordered to come in the mail.

Like I love cosplay, but.... I'm making to my cosplay at one time where it's making my brain go haywire. Like these past 2 days I dream about what cosplay I'll make next.

Today I wanted to try something new, so for the first time ever I used craft foam and I started making Toga's villan gear from My Hero Academia.

It was my first time working with foam like this and the only problems I have was my cardboard cutter being dull. But honestly I like how some of the edges of the teeth are well edgy lol 😂 it gives it that rustic and almost villainous look I originally wanted for it.

I still need to do some final touches to the whole head piece. I just went in with a sponge at first and then tomorrow I'm going to go in with a small paint brush and make it look nice.er...

I'll do more updates as I work on it.

I'm not planning on using this for Anime North 2019, I will if something goes wrong with my other outfits. As of now though I just plan to do a photoshoot with it when all the snow is gone 😁

Anime North 2019 Cosplay Plans (Part 1)

Sooooo because some people have been kind of curious to how my one cosplay for Anime North is going, So here is what I have/plan to do.

I'm planning on being Chika Fujiwara from the anime series "Love is War" that is currently airing right now. This outfit is her summer uniform just because I didn't want to get to hot during the convention seeing it is near the end of May.

Chika (right) is know as the ditzy, yet loving friend of kaguya (left). She is horrible at taking a hint or "reading the mood" of what is happening around her, from her crazy games and antics she always seems to bring light to a bad situation. (Or cause the bad situation XD)

She is also well known for a clip of her dancing and singing that has been floating around the internet the last few weeks.

For the dress I went to my local fabricland and picked up some black dress fabric and made the dress using my sewing machine.

As of now I have the dress finished. I still need to get white knee high socks and shoes.

But for this being my first time making a dress right from scratch, but I feel very proud on how it turned out.

For the skirt, I used a simple circle skirt pattern. (If you want to know how I made the skirt I can make a separate post ^_^ )

Making the top was pretty easy, I just traced the top of a dress I already owned onto a piece of fabric and I shortened the pattern so it would end a little under the bust. Before doing anything else I made sure to add a zipper so I could get it on and off with ease. After doing that I added a separate middle piece of fabric for the elastic I was going to add to the waist and under arm part of my dress.

For the wig I have already ordered it and I'm just waiting for it to arrive, from what the tracking information says it should be here by Friday. But who knows, this is the Canadian postal service after all LOL

✓ You be sitting in class (or any public place) and you see a person just chilling on their phone/tablet/laptop, and you just happen to notice that they are watching anime!

Your first instinct is to want to become friends with them. But like you HELLA shy, so you just try to start up a kind of loud conversation with your friend (you are possibly with at that time) and just start talking about anime like a mad lad.

This happens to me too often...

✓ You are scrolling through Facebook and you see a person from your school (or just anyone on your Facebook) updated their profile picture. So your *OBVIOUSLY* are going to click on their profile and just look around their page for a second.

(because everyone does that, don't lie, we all know you do...)

But as soon as you click on you realize *YO*

They have a Anime background, and not just some 90s Anime tumblr aesthetics background

(no hate to tumblr aesthetics)

But this person has like a actual Anime background photo, and it's from a really good series that you like.

I don't know what it is, but the feeling after seeing someone else with the same hobby it so damn nice. Like it's weird how it can kind of make your day...

You know..?

✓ Walking into a used book store and finding a manga series you love at the store.

This one is a weird one, but is also the one that makes me the happiest.

Just imagine walking into the bookstore expecting to only find some old 2005 Shonen Jump volumes that are falling apart. From the corner of your eye you see the spine of a book and you know what it is right away. You take it off the shelf and you think to yourself "Wow. Someone else actually knows about this series and they enjoyed it enough to own it.

You look over the book and notice that it's like brand new, but you can tell someone must have read it. Someone must have loved this book to keep it in such a amazing condition even after reading it.
