I know the fandom loves making Rui cry. Hell, I love making Rui more than anything. But I think we're also missing that Rui— never cries.

I think it adds onto the subhuman factor. After all, monsters don't get to have emotions, was there ever a story where a monster cried? Exactly.

I think it's also remarkable that the time we see Rui close to breaking into tears — Curtain Call — he does NOT cry. In fact, Asahi describes it as "a weird face". suits him quite well, doesn't it?

Rui doesn't know how to cry. He can scrunch his face but... He just doesn't know how to.

And then we arrive at Our Happy Ending and he's laughing and crying with all his friends, a messy pile of hugs and arms and warmth and utter desperation for the lost. And he cries, and there are little tears in the corners of his eyes when he leaves the Wonder Stage. He doesn't realize it at first, but when Nene sneers at him and Tsukasa gives him a tissue he suddenly does.

Maybe monsters can cry too.

To those reading "To Love a Lannister": I'm sorry for the delay but I forgot to pay for my drive subscription, which in turn deleted some of my files, so I'm having to rewrite the two chapters who were mostly done and I AM ANGRY. But I'm halfway through the last one, and will post both of them probably over the weekend. i can't speak for everyone but i personally LOVE overly ambitious fan content that relies heavily on personal experience. it improves the quality imo, enhances the experience if you will. so much fan content is just retreading what the source material already did and it's like girl if i wanted to see that i would just re-consume the source material. fan content SHOULD be personal imo. it should have heart and do things the source material never would or could. so keep it up 👍 ok thats all

i love it tbh. like realistically do i think it's true? mmm not really, there's probably just some third Kryze sibling nobody can be bothered to show us bc they're Normal. but its still such a fun idea especially when you factor in "Anakin Jedi can't have romantic relationships [pushing Satine aside] and Jedi cant have children [shoves korkie in a bin]"

DF RANT ALERT (plus minor implications/spoilers for the future of Blue and Violet)

Sometimes I realise Blue and Violet's Colours was literally peak angst and storytelling for my level of writing skills. And no matter how hard I try, I probably can't top it in WMSN. I mean, Colours was basically the pinnacle of everything written before it in the series (TQFTSK, Interlude, CWNB) and, WMSN is just... everything after it (it's giving she's Barbie and he's just Ken vibes to be honest). The remaining loose ends are being addressed and tied up. All while being puffed out with some silly one shots and domestic shenanigans in between. WMSN literally the 'happily ever after' of the main storyline, but I'm a little worried that's all it is gonna be...?

That isn't to say WMSN won't have its serious moments and character development/arcs that have been building up in the background of the series. I'm writing them right now (attempting to more like), and I'm just worried about Blue and Violet falling victim to the 'first movie/book was amazing and the sequel was mid' tragedy of modern day stories.
