It kills me when xavier is reduced down to just a sleepy character. He is soft, warm, unalarming.. because he is a predator. He is Beautiful like Lucifer. He is the Light. The Morningstar. His pretty eyes and soft features are so perfect for when he sinks his teeth in you. He'll lure you in and then kill you. and you'll let him. He's psycho.
And you'll only catch him when he let's you..

[High-Speed Chase]
Sari: The police want us!
Bumblebee: Oh, snap!
Optimus: What do I do?
Sari: You have to pull over to the side and show them your license.
Optimus: I don’t have a license.
Bumblebee: Oh, right.
Sari: But… But you’re old!
Optimus: What was I suppose to tell the DMV, that I’m from another planet? I’m not exactly a citizen, Sari!

Listening to a podcast about eroticism in saintly artwork (Pontifacts crossover special from a while back) and how loads of nobles paid to have their lovers painted naked as deities or saints and 12yo me that protested my gifted-program teacher's INSISTENCE that all Renaissance nudes were "fine art" is SCREAMING with vindication rn.

Alright. I got a random question for y'all. If you were to pick a name that fit all these forms or just me in general (Besides Ashe), what would you choose?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'm thinking of going with a new name for myself to separate myself from the body and while I love the name Ashe, it is getting a bit much to have everyone around refer to Ashe, I get pulled forward, and then turns out they were talking to someone in the system who isn't me. Now we could rename the body, but that's a process I'm not paying for again. So, gathering a list of potential names. I got a few already that I like, let's see what y'all think!

One detail I find weirdly bittersweet is how both Orion and D-16 were curious young bots who wanted to learn more about their world. It's more obvious with Orion, who wanted to sneak into the archives to learn about Cybertronian history. I think it's mentioned in the novel that Orion would often ramble about Cybertronian history so much that D-16 would act disinterested, which surprised Orion since he couldn't understand how anyone could not be fascinated by it.
Yet, Dee was always interested in his own way. In the storyboards, his dream was to lead an expedition off Cybertron to explore uncharted worlds and locations for Cybertron’s progress. That boy was just as curious and eager to learn—both of them shared the same curiosity and thirst for knowledge, just channeled differently,he never even wanted to become something even remotely close to a soldier,he never wanted to pick up a gun at all and that makes me so sad.
This fits so well within the narrative sense of how they started with the same goal in mind—bringing down Sentinel and rebuilding society with the power Alpha Trion entrusted to all four of them. Yet, the paths they took to achieve that goal were starkly different. Orion saw how broken the system was under Sentinel and sought to create a better system. D-16, on the other hand, wanted to kill Sentinel, destroy everything he built, and rebuild from the ashes.
To think that, in a better world, their initial dreams could have actually been realized... it's just so sad. I need someone to write an AU where Dee gets to lead that expedition he always wanted and Orion to get that opportunity to learn about Cybertronian history, maybe in a world where Sentinel never succeeded in killing the Primes by a deux ex machina they survived so the two of them were able to grow up and live normal fulfilling lives 🥹.
Also I think it was also mentioned in another storyboard that Elita's dream was always to become a soldier imagine in this perfect scenario she gets to enlist in the High Guard or something like that, since they were the army of Cybertron before Sentinel took over, (although honestly I feel like she'd still try and overwork herself either way, she's still very much a perfectionist)
I wonder what B-127's dream was I don't believe it was ever mentioned,he did say he wanted to work for the government but I'm not sure of an exact profession for him.

I’ve been scrutinizing the badges and medical symbols (or lack thereof) of the medics of IDW, and speculating about what these might say about each of them.
Out of all the medics, Flatline’s badge(less) arrangement stood out to me, so it’s time to make this way deeper than the writers and artists intended.
To wear a badge, or not to wear a badge…
Thanks to Alex Milne, the Autobots got their own medical cross:
Tumblr media
This is worn by Pharma and First Aid, and by Ratchet before the war and during the earliest days of the conflict. He later removes the cross, but switches between a couple of different symbols and no symbol throughout the course of the war—his time spent on Earth having a lot to do with that, I suspect. Even so, after the war, he chooses not to wear any indication of his status as a medic—only an Autobot badge.
Meanwhile, the Decepticons have no universally recognized symbol for their medics. Instead, they each have their own unique symbol, or none at all. Glit has a vaguely medical-looking cross that differs from the Autobot medical cross, and Flatline has a symbol resembling the pulse of a spark:
Tumblr media
…which I can only assume is meant to be the Cybertronian version of the following, but with a circle for the spark instead of a heart:
Tumblr media
Meanwhile, Spinister and Nickel have nothing. Just their Decepticon badges.
Now, to combine these with faction badges:
Badge + medical symbol: Pharma, First Aid
Badge + no medical symbol: Ratchet, Fixit, Velocity, Spinister, Nickel
No badge + medical symbol: Flatline, Glit
No badge + no medical symbol: Ambulon
There are three medics who don’t wear badges; all of them are or were Decepticons. This is interesting on its own, but I’m more interested in how this may correlate to their attitudes towards treating Autobots:
Even though Glit’s KP version is willing to treat people regardless of faction, this is never confirmed for his IDW version. There isn’t enough evidence to infer how he feels about Autobots, or treating them. Yes, he was at Grindcore, but that says nothing about how he treated Autobot prisoners behind the scenes.
As for Ambulon, he switched sides and underwent the Act of Affiliation, but—evidently—not the Rite of the Autobrand. I could speculate all day about why, but that’s not important because, whatever the case, he treats patients of both factions without hesitation. Because he’s been on both sides, he has an externally observable reason to do so.
This leaves Flatline as the only badgeless—and only Decepticon—medic who’s proven to uphold a moral value of treating people regardless of faction. Unlike Ambulon, he has no externally obvious reason to do so, but he does it anyway because it’s personally important to him.
The following roams into headcanon territory, but based on what can be inferred from Flatline’s few appearances, I like to think his choice to not wear a Decepticon badge serves two purposes:
It’s his way of signaling to potential patients: “I don’t see you through the lenses of your faction and ideology, but as a person.”
It’s a personal reminder for himself of his commitment to being blind to factions when treating people; it’s a way of reminding himself he’s committed to the preservation of life first—not to any group or “order” of medical personnel.
This is not to say medics who do wear badges and belong to an order of medics don’t also treat patients based on similar values—as we see First Aid and Ratchet treating people of the opposing faction.
This is just me playing around with the possibility of inferring something deeper about Flatline’s character—what he values, how he sees himself and the world, what sets him apart from others “like him,” etc.
And besides, Autobot medics are expected to uphold their medical oaths. Decepticon medics—perhaps unfairly—are assumed to be lax in that area, so it means more to have a Decepticon medic who holds to their personal moral values despite the general attitude towards the enemy seen in many of their comrades.
On that note, I would love to know how Tarn sees Flatline…
A Decepticon who refused the Rite of the Deceptibrand.
A Decepticon who refused to cut into his spark casing to signify his commitment to the Cause.
A Decepticon who values commitment to his personal morals above adhering to any external ideology.

new to the fandom, hello. i've seen a few posts on your blog about blitz's bad spelling being rooted in dyslexia, however i've noticed that all imps seem to have bad spelling, all the way back to flashbacks of the circus.
one could argue i suppose that spellings seen at the circus are written by his dad, and that dyslexia runs in the family. but i think the consistent imp misspellings are intended as another indication of how lower class imps are - that they are uneducated, perhaps not allowed to receive education, and thus don't know *how* to spell.
Welcome. I disagree, and I think you expected that.
I'll start with the claim you based everything on.
"I've noticed that all imps seem to have bad spelling, all the way back to flashbacks of the circus."
Now, I really dug. And I could only find one example of something spelled incorrectly in any of the circus flashbacks. This is from "Oops."
Tumblr media
Okay. Someone spelled fireworks comically wrong. My bet is Cash (whatever the cause), and idk... we haven't seen a pattern. Just the one example. Maybe he's dyslexic too. Maybe he's poorly educated (more on that later). But that would all be more in the headcanon realm for me.
Other things are spelled correctly at the circus.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The only other non-Blitz example of an imp being unable to spell something is Striker in "Mastermind" struggling to spell/say grimoire. But who can blame him? I struggle to spell grimoire, and I'm a human with a masters degree.
Beyond that, Fizzarolli, Millie, and Moxxie (you know . . . all the secondary imp characters) are shown spelling things correctly.
Tumblr media
Fizz uses shorthand and repeats letters for emphasis here and there, but all of the words that he fully spells out are spelled correctly. There's nothing that can really be called a spelling mistake here.
Tumblr media
The same can be said about Millie's texts in "Seeing Stars." She uses shorthand, but it seems intentional. You can compare her spelling to Blitz's directly here. "Mackin" in this context just doesn't have a slangy/shorthand explanation in the same way. Neither does "were" for "where." This is because spelling is automatic for Millie, but it isn't for Blitz. He's using phonetic(ish) guesses.
We also have Moxxie writing down a report that Blitz dictates in "Mission: Antarctica."
Tumblr media
The guy can spell perfectly.
But-- honestly? You only have to be familiar with Moxxie as a character to know that his spelling would be flawless . . . For example, look at how he calls Blitz out for his spelling and grammar in "Spring Broken."
Tumblr media
Blitz is the ONLY character with a recurring pattern of poor spelling. And if the writers didn't want us to make something of it, they wouldn't keep showing it to us in almost every episode. Now his spelling isn't always bad (he does alright in his apology notes and then in his reports in the shorts- IF Moxxie isn't still writing for him). And I wrote a piece of meta here that explains why I think it might show a form of self-accommodation that's super common for people with learning disabilities.
Now. I'd like to talk about imps and education briefly. Yes, imps are marginalized by their society, often poor, and expected to work for higher demons. But I don't think they have it much worse in terms of education and daily life than say . . . marginalized people in today's real life societies. Their roles are more rigid, yes, but they do hold a range of jobs and participate fully in demon life in multiple rings of Hell.
Are imps on average less well educated than demons higher on Hell's hierarchy? Yes, I'm sure. But remember, Blitz tells us he dropped out of a college, and for that he'd have to be . . . you know, allowed to start at one. And we see imps being very competent consistently. I haven't seen anything that suggests that they're not allowed to be educated (though they're pretty clearly not allowed to access magical artifacts), so I suspect that most imps receive a basic education.
Now do some marginalized people in real life end up illiterate (completely or in part) either because their education is horribly disrupted or inadequate or because they have a learning disability that isn't properly addressed? YES. Do some people with dyslexia still struggle to spell in daily life even if they're well educated and absolutely literate? Also yes.
Imps have a range of experiences in a society that is complex (even if it's in the process of being fleshed out) and reflects our own in many ways.
Blitz is dyslexic. Thanks for reading.

New Wukong headcanon!
He is a huge plant nerd, in jttw he's canonically very smart and well studied under subodhi so he's already a nerd, but all that cranks up to 11 with plants.
He collects all sorts of plants from all over the place and sets up habits on his island to let them thrive and he just really enjoys tending to them and watching them grow and thrive, he is the same way with the plants already on the island.
He gets super excited when he notices the plants adapting to the island and changing and becoming something new. One of the coolest things about immortality is seeing plants evolve!
He just thinks they're neat.
He's the nerdiest plant dad ever.
He's also really shy about showing people his plants because he doesn't want anyone messing with them or making fun of him for it (it happened more when he was younger).
When he did show MK his plant hyperfixation, MK quickly clocked it in as very not neurotypical behavior.
Wukong is in fact, not neurotypical.
