Obviously I would love it if Kon came out as queer but tbh I hope people can take a step back and appreciate how great it would be if we end up just getting Tim’s feelings for him confirmed. This was such a big part of Tim’s queer coding for many years and unfortunately a lot of people deny it was ever a thing in an effort to paint Tim’s coming out as forced, so to have an actual storyline point back at it and say “No, Tim was trying to tell us this all along. You just didn’t want to hear it.” would be really thoughtful and satisfying. Plus, I’m just really excited to dig more into Tim’s journey and expand on the idea that he’s “kind of always known” (Urban Legends #10), this has the potential to be such a painfully realistic depiction of what young queer people go through and I’m just so, so ready for it.

I’ve been seeing a lot of people get preemptively upset at the idea that Kon will be “coming out as straight”, which I think is: 1. Really unfair to Meghan, who has worked hard to give us respectful and accurate representation and clearly has the best of intentions for these characters. And 2. Kon not immediately jumping out of the closet would NOT mean he could NEVER be queer or be in a relationship with Tim. It’s fiction, in issue #1 he could say he’s straight and then realize by #6 that he isn’t. His journey isn’t the same as Tim’s and can and should be played out differently, or maybe there’s no journey planned but that’s no reason to assume the worst or that Timkon shippers are intentionally being trolled.

Basically I get all the excitement and the worry, I just want to remind people that it’s literally a story and not just a game of who is confirmed queer and who isn’t. Timkon is my all time favorite ship, I would die to have them get together but I want it to feel realistic and satisfying when it happens, which could mean there’s a very long road ahead IF it’s even in the cards at all.

Also. Unrequited love is one of the best tropes ever imo.

i read a fic once that described crowley as someone who saw love as something he was entitled to, because he should have had it this whole time and he never did and it. threw me so off guard, i haven't stopped thinking about it since. like that's it, that's the whole character summarized. god.
