Despite how slow and gentle Hati is to reach for her face, Adrasteia still flinches back instinctively. She feels worn, fragile, vulnerable and glazed over eyes do not hide any of the exhaustion that dwells within them. The impassive mask she oft adorns is too energy consuming right now to even truly consider, as much as she would like to don it and present the strength she’s always meant to carry. 

Nonetheless, despite the initial hesitation, the au ra does not deny the grip on her chin, nor does she refuse to allow her face be tilted up to meet his. Their eyes do not meet, however, not when she's quick to switch her focus to wall next to them instead. A painful throb in her temple screams at her not to repeat the harsh action and drying blood staining her skin begins to crack from her movements. Hell knows there’s likely still some fresh blood somewhere too — surely it hasn't been long enough for all of it to have dried? A fleeting thought that disperses quickly when Adra's far too aware passage of time never feels real to her when she's like this. She longs to shrink into something smaller that cannot be perceived when she’s this unsightly, to hide away until the bruising and gashes heal and she's no longer a creature to be pitied.

oh absolutely! you might've thought she wore fairy outfits but actually she did a combo of wearing fairy outfits, hand-me-down costumes from saf, and whatever she convinced her mom to make her (they were always hand-made outfits never ones from the party store). her favorite was actually one that was handed down from saf and it was just a fancy dress all red and gold and pretty.

any missed/failed hunt. also though like...she's got a few missed connection relationships-that-could-have-been that she sometimes regrets. idk though she's always looking ahead. she wouldn't go back.

other than the obvious, adra does enjoy little crafts? like out of polymer clay or other tiny things! idk i feel like she would like that?

hugo did a few like cowboy or knight type costumes. none that were super memorable.

he has so many! especially about his sister and about kian. but most specifically. he would absolutely like a do-over on a lot of things.

used to be sex and clubbing and stuff like that but with having a child, he's doing less of that. he does enjoy running and hiking and, when it's the right season, kayaking.

she did some years but not every year. her parents didn't care about halloween so it depended year-to-year how badly she wanted to fit in. they were always store-bought and often like...just a generic witch or angel or whatever. parents probably picked.

she has constant regrets. she'd like a do-over of her entire last relationship tbh.

the beauty of ardra 💧🌑

🌑 the nakshatras of the nodes have a very distinctive appearance. the influence of the feminine rahu bestows ardra natives with the typical feminine features, such as delicate facial features, larger eyes, and a voluptuous body. the yin features of rahu gives natives a type of otherworldly and ethereal appearance, similar to that of saturn. this is because both planets are of the air element (for a better understanding of this go to my pushya nakshatra post). these natives typically have large and rounded eyes, dainty noses, and a lighter complexion (depending on the native’s ethnicity, i.e. if a rahuvian woman is of a darker complexion, she may have a slightly lighter complexion than her other non-rahuvian family members).

⭕️ let’s look at rahu’s most evolved state: the shatabisha nakshatra. this nakshatra is symbolized by the empty, yin circle. shatabisha is ruled by varuna, god of the rains, cosmic and terrestrial waters, sky and earth. in addition to the mystical healer, maya (illusion). the nature of shatabisha is also abundant in the other rahu-ruled vimshottari nakshatras (ardra and swati). this is because rahu is the utmost manifestation of the divine feminine. maya, being the embodiment of illusion, betows rahuvian individuals with the power of being an empty vessel for the divine collective; bending reality and transforming into the desires of others the native deems worthy. however, due to rahu’s rebellious nature, we see this powerful feminine force being steadfast and not easily influenced by others.

🌧 ardra is the first rahu-ruled nakshatra. in order to better understand the nature of ardra, we need to take a step back and understand the previous nakshatra—mrigashira. mrigashira was the rejection of the garden of ignorance and the freedom to move on. in ardra, we see the process of forming the rational mind and free will. due to the intellectual nature of rudra, we see ardra natives preferring to study, understand, and learn about the physical world/plane. this often leads to a fascination with the physical plane and understanding the workings of everything that peaks their interest. with the mercurial energy of gemini (knowledge) and rahuvian influence of the vimshottari system (materialism and illusion), we can see the reasoning of ardra’s prevelance in dystopian, horror, and sci-fi films. this nakshatra’s fixation on understanding the world and finding freedom is the perfect combination for creating films with dark subject matter. rudra’s intentionally destructive nature also provides ardra natives with a niche ability to accumulate knowledge to understand the workings of the world and destroy what seems to not be fit. precisely how rudra represents the emotional release and purification that occurs after the storms of the plane or mind cease (more on this later!). this is similar to most character development in many horror/sci-fi films and the ever present devil/savior trope. if you’re interested in further looking into this dichotomy, i recommend “the exorcist” starring linda blair (ardra chandra), “bedazzled” staring elizabeth hurley (ardra lagna), and “supernatural” starring mark pellegrino (ardra lagna). this trope is also perfectly illustrated by lana del rey’s (ardra surya) music. in her earlier albums, “born to die”, “paradise”, and “ultraviolence”, the singer describes her natural love of the darker things in life (i.e. drugs, violence, guns). as her albums progress, we see her slowly become more aware of the dangers of her lifestyle and her slowly moving towards love and kindness instead—much like rudra’s symbolism of calming after the tumultuous storms of life. i highly recommend listening to her music to gain an understanding of ardra’s themes!

🦮 ardra is heavily associated with animals. it is symbolized by the female dog yoni. this is indicative of ardra’s devotional, emotional, and knowledgeable nature. rudra is the ruler of this nakshatra. rudra desired to become “the lord of the animals”. this nakshatra also has the same animalistic dominion desire of uttara phalguni and revati. this is because the yonis of all three nakshatras are the female dog (ardra), female cow (uttara phalguni), and female elephant (revati). this may be indicative of the motherly, animalistic nature of all three nakshatras. this is also why all three nakshatras get along so well. the animalistic nature of ardra is why we see hundreds of ardra natives in animal prints, fur or leather, or animal symbolism via graphic tees or headbands; similar to the reoccurring cow print in uttara phalguni fashion!

🍀 another reoccuring style theme for ardra was the appreciation of 60s fashion, particularly the mod era of the 60s. time and time again, when doing my research for this post, i saw a multitude of ardra natives dress up/try to emulate 60s fashion. ardra natives such as ariana grande’s (ardra surya) 60s-inspired fashion in her most recent music videos (i.e. “34+35”) and chrissy tiegan’s (ardra lagna) multiple 60s themed events. i believe this behavior is due to rahu’s extreme prevalence in old hollywood and the 1960s’ modeling industry. for example, hedy lamarr (ardra lagna) was a prominent actress and inventor, jean shrimpton (swati surya) was an icon of swinging london and very popular model in the 60s, and pat cleveland (ardra surya) was a very well-known model who was the muse of every prominent fashion house in paris. i believe ardra natives try to emulate this era of fashion because of ardra’s appreciation of all things old and vintage, which appears to the nature of many of the rahuvian and ketuvian individuals. an additional thing to note is the prevalence of the color green in the ardra nakshatra. in hindu/vedic astrology, a particular type of color is dedicated to a certain nakshatra in which is lucky for the natives of the nakshatra to wear. green, being the color that symbolizes the fresh, succulent nature of rudra, is why the ardra natives shown above, vienna skye and ariana grande, are both wearing the color green. this also correlates to how many ardra natives have dyed their hair green shades or hues, i.e. gwen stefani (ardra chandra), nicole richie (ardra chandra), and rapper saweetie (ardra surya).

🎸 all nodal nakshatras tend to have a propensity for darker elements and themes in the media. this can be reflected in ardra’s love for grungy, smoky makeup; darker clothing; and vampy, vintage hair and fashion looks (much like the magha nakshatra). this darker aesthetic was also heavily popular in the 90s/2000s. most notably, lizzy caplan (ardra surya), who played janis ian in “mean girls”, her character was well known for her liking of punk subculture, heavy eye makeup, and band merchandise, a trait that was also common with the characters played by ardra natives: kaya scodelario (ardra chandra) in “skins” and emma mackey (ardra chandra) in “sex education”. this behavior is prevalent in the ketu and rahu natives because it reflects the smoky and tamasic nature of both shadow planets. by rejecting the more popular, mainstream trends for the purpose of embracing more expressive and alternative movements (such as grunge, punk, rock, alternative, etc.). this why we see the nodal nakshatras so prominent in those subculture musical genres (i.e. ardra natives kurt cobain of “nirvana” and jimmy page of “led zeppelin”).

as always, i am open to any constructive criticism! i tried to touch on both the appearance, fashion and nature of ardra and i hope i did well! this post took me forever to make and i truly tried to put so much effort into it! i just adore ardra’s emotional, purposefully destructive, raw and feminine energy its natives tend to reflect 🌩 if you are looking for more information about ardra, get to know the overrulers and supreme deities of rahu, durga (the goddess of power) and the serpent god, and mercury, vishnu (the maintainer) and narayana (the cosmic person)!! if any of my placements or information is incorrect please feel free to let me know! also, i am fully aware of the origins of vedic astrology and if i was in anyway disrespectful to hindu culture, i will take down this post immediately xx

Adrayel

She spent a lot of time at the Dragonhead and was trained as a Dragoon. She didn't really have any contact with Ishgard itself, but was able to see their closed-mindedness and roughness towards strangers.

She never paid too much attention to them, the first thing that really impressed her, and annoyed her a bit, was their obsession with dragons. Adrayel never liked to put people in boxes, to judge, to denigrate or to criticize someone because he comes from somewhere else, or because he was born under a different regime.

The same is true for dragons.

Killing dragons because they are dragons seemed pretty extreme to her and she has always tried to change the mentality about it. People kept telling her that she couldn't "really" understand it, since she wasn't Ishgarden.

Just as the statue of the Great Houses and the nobility always made her sigh with indignation. The revolt was not a big surprise, according to her it was perhaps even necessary. When the bishop's betrayal was revealed, she was a little relieved to see that this city could finally move forward.

She lost a lot during the war and the many battles of Ishgard, but she does not feel any resentment for its inhabitants. She prefers to see the changes and rejoice in the new face of the Holy City.

Jaeth

Jaeth was very busy during the banquet.

He heard about it, yes, that and Ul'dah's agitation at the time allowed him to go after his gang leader and give him a good beating before running off without too much trouble. He had not foreseen that there would be so much trouble at this banquet. But while all the guards in the city were after the Scions, they weren't minding anyone else's business. So his own.

As for the WoL, Jaeth didn't have much to do with it before that, let alone after.

Damn. Ayako would have just smiled as she knows how. Innocent and out of touch. She wouldn't have understood, she would have just said: 'Oh? Okay. Yes.

And would have smiled once more with a satisfied and contented look without realizing what she is doing.

So...

She would certainly have found herself married to Magnai, telling him to be nice to others and giving him those sad, watery eyes when he's being too rough on the world. Eyes that he would not be able to resist of course. Because nobody can resist a sad Ayako. So I'd like us all to imagine a Magnai trying to look impressive and dangerous when his little pink-haired wife enters the room singing as if no one was there and calling her sweet husband with cute little names and asking if he has fed Philibert. Philibert his very beautiful domestic Dhalmel.

Let's take a few seconds to appreciate this image.

Oh, and Magnai would have probably destroyed the first person who dared to make fun of his sweetheart, or would have exterminated entire tribes if she asked him.

So... In the end, Ayako would be the real boss of the steppe.

Finished: Adra Dragon Socks!

Pattern: DragonESS

Yarn: Knit Picks Muse Hand Painted Sock in Untamed, which is the most adra dragon yarn I’ve ever seen so it was perfect for this pattern!

The scale pattern was pretty easy (except for the time when I was looking at the wrong page with the wrong size chart and almost added a few extraneous rows...oops, tinking time) and worked up quickly; the spikes were a little fiddly to add, especially trying to pick up the stitches down the back of the sock for them, but well worth it! These are so cute.

So, we’ve asked how Silas and Emet with her along buttt how would Adra and Nalia get along ? Has this been answered before?

AHHH these questions are so hard, I suppose while Hades and Solas are having the world’s most hypocritical and snarky fight Nalia and Adra would talk over drinks 😆 

they both develop in opposite ways through their stories, Nalia grows more determined while Adra loses her determination as she goes, it is the same in terms of vulnerability. Nalia is not a good leader but must become one, Adra is a natural leader but is used as a weapon. They go in different directions within themselves but walk through very similar problems and face the same contradictions, so they can relate in that! 

Nalia’s strenght comes from adaptability and strategy and Adra’s from single minded purpose and duty, they are both very compassionate, introverted and love deeply!! I feel Nalia would admire many things about Adra but aslo pity her, she would also be intimidated, Adra would find Nalia’s hesitation and fear frustrating but envy her choices and agency. Nalia is softer, calmer, easier to smile, in combat she rather weak. Adra is a concentrated ball of stoic stress and is very powerful in battle but also kind of unstable. 

And after all of these musings all my brain can think is..what if white/black lingerie shoot drawings with both of them though 👀💦

awkwardly! theresa wants intimacy but struggles to like...achieve it? especially with physical/sexual intimacy. with emotional intimacy it's like...accidentally reveals too much in what should have been a small talk conversation?

[ ❌ ] is there something your muse struggles with that they might never overcome? what is it? why do they have so much trouble with it?

theresa is terrified of bridges! she can't exactly explain why/doesn't really know why but being on one scares the shit out of her, which makes driving/traveling really hard. she's considered trying therapy (like exposure therapy or cbt or whatever) to overcome it but then she puts it off. but it's sort of weirdly specific so i think subconsciously she worries that therapy wouldn't work.

[ 📚 ] what books does your muse have on their bookshelf? what books would they like to have? if your muse isn’t an avid reader, is there anything they collect or might like to collect?

a weird little collection! books from college (she majored in lit), books in norwegian from her grandparents (mostly mysteries), random best sellers she impulse buys, and books family/friends/exes have bought her that they thought she'd like. theresa goes through reading phases where she reads for a time and then suddenly stops.

with other people, kinda hesitant. adra's main focus is on her research, and she struggles to want to connect with people who are really in front of her. with calista, it's mixed--like she still has that struggle but also calista is who her mind is on.

adra has brutal test anxiety. it's the reason she's never been able to get a degree or anything. she literally cannot get into college/school. it probably comes from a lack of control over the outcome, but at the end of the day, she's always struggled with it and even approaching it gives her more anxiety.

mostly fairy tales, history, mythology. she has a wide collection in terms of country of origin but you can definitely see her special interest shining through on her bookshelf. she keeps dozens of retellings, organized by basis (e.g. all her Cinderella's, all her Rapunzel's, etc.). she also has other books on anthropology, and on religion. she also also has some law books from her attempts to find a regular human job.

physical intimacy? super easy, ready for it. sexual intimacy? she pretends to be less hesitant than she actually is, but actually she is picky about who she sleeps with. emotional intimacy? absolutely not, no thank you except for jude.

ambition? losing her crown really threw marisol and she has no idea what to do now. even with getting with jude and returning to power, it's not an ambition so much as it is, like, an attempt to return to a pathway that's no longer available to her (and spiting her parents). having always had a life plan, she doesn't know how to invent a path.

some naughty books, lots of romances, a few books on politics. honestly, she's not big into books. she collects perfume bottles even though she always uses the same scent. she likes how they look. she'd also probably collect wine if/when she ever gets the money.

//I’ll be slower or not around for a few days! I’m reading the Case Files of Lord El-Melloi II novels and I’m on book 2, which I think I’ll finish soon!

I admit it, my Svin muse is mostly from the anime and the chemistry/antics he and Flat have in the Adra stage production as well as other things I’ve picked up from people who read the books in Japanese (I have to read in English, and I don’t have physical copies anyway orz so I’ll only get to read through book 5, but I did find a summary of the ending ones so SCREAMS ITS SO GOOD I WISH THE ANIME WAS GETTING A SECOND SEASON)

I’ll be updating Svin’s application with the specific abilities he uses as well if that’s an ok thing to do (such as Gandrs). Adra was a great story and Iselma is shaping up to be even better with Reines’ narration! Its a shame the novels don’t circulate as much as I thought they would in the Fate fandom, I’m truly in love with it and how genuinely fun it is to read. (In truth I have a huge Waver muse and write fanfic and run an indie twitter for him so I’m just lapping all that up too... Waver collects records, amazing)

I’ve hit activity so I’ll come back to Svin and Astolfo just with a slower and more manageable pace, with a refined/strengthened Svin muse!
