ava , owl-va

(new character i've been super fixated on th past few months. i love her very much. i'll also post ùna (who's from the same story, friends with ava) soon too hopefully)

(from 2.1.24, about Ava)

Ava thinks about dying, about where parts of her body will end up, and gathers owl pellets scattered between ice-smoothed outcroppings.

Ahe carefully lifts a dead sparrow-hawk from the side of the road and carries it with her in an old plastic bag.

She thinks about the bird, neck broken. Speckled under.

She thinks about her stomach that won��t tell her that she’s hungry.

She pisses on the way back, against the side of a decaying old boat, behind a decaying old boat-shed.

A man with sandy hair cycles past her as she walks along the road, readjusting her jeans, and she thinks about sex with Johannes. She’s not sure how it’d go but she wipes her dripping nose on the back of her hand and thinks about how he nudged his knee between her legs and looked shy about it after.

Then she’s home — taking off boots, leaving them on the steps outside. Wandering around with her dead things.

Sparrow-hawk goes in two more old plastic bags and in the big storage freezer. Owl pellets go on her scored-up, cup-ringed table, with tweezers in her hands and thumbs to split the dense bundles open.

thank you ! i'm still thinking about it and tried some designs the other day but i dont want it to be too cute or something. its usually just a dark hole with some moss or leaves or something at the bottom

una ava universe lore is that there is also a character named johannes who ava knew for a few months (before una) when she was a bit younger. like 18/19 type of age. johannes was staying with his grandparents to help for summer (like help them fixing their house or something, maybe with his dad? not sure yet) and hung out with ava because she had a job in the tiny little corner shop nearby to the small town. she lives outside of the town a couple miles away but she went on her bike to work. they hung out and also i just think the idea of weird girl and also owl ava (who doesnt rly talk) having a friend/sort of boyfriend and they like birdwatch and johannes shows ava tv shows on vhs and camping gear like a dented thermos he brings everywhere with him . she shows him how to peel an egg rly neatly and doesn't show him the big hole she has in her back full of twigs and plants even though he's good and nice she just doesn't want to be that vulnerable right then

i didn't realise this said favourite owl fact, so its just some owl facts about ural owls ^_^ but here is her reply though:

Ava, do you have a favorite book about owls and birds?
