Narinder's Veil - An Analysis
A quick overview.
With the addition of the Bishop's of the old faith DLC, it was reveals Narinder's robes are actual a uniform of sorts denoting him as a death god. And once the Lamb has rescued all the bishops, they receive a version of these robes in fleece form. This made me wonder if TOWW's veil had any deeper meaning?
Tumblr media
What is a Veil?
"A veil is an article of clothing or hanging cloth that is intended to cover some part of the head or face, or an object of some significance."
TOWW wears a black veil that partially obscures his face. Similar ones can be seen on his attendants, Baal and Aym, and former members of his old cult, Klunko, Flinky, and Shrumy. They seemingly serve no pratical use as before initiating combat Aym and Baal rip the veils off, possibly for increased visibility and keep the stands out of their eyes. Because these veils are only seen worn by TOWW and those in association with him or his cult, I assume these veils are exclusive to him and the veils we see worn by others are derivatives of his.
After some research, I was able to find an irl veil that most resembled the one TOWW wears:
A Sehra
Tumblr media
"In some parts of India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Nepal, men wear a sehra on their wedding day. This is a male veil covering the whole face and neck. The sehra is made from either flowers or beads."
Similar to veils worn by women, a sehra was worn to ward off the evil eye and to keep the bride and groom from seeing see each other before their wedding ceremony. While the reason for wearing the sehra is different, TOWW's veil very much resembles one.
Irl there are many cultural that require participants to adorn face veils or for sacred objects to be veiled. The most common practice that is familiar to most would be the wearing veils by brides on their wedding day. Interestingly the act of wearing a veil was prominently done by women and there are few cultures where men are expected to veil instead. In these cultrures, boys begin wearing veils after puberty and is considered a mark of manhood. It's interesting to note that everyone that wears a veil in COTL is male or male presenting.
Veils aren't always used for religious purposes.
Now that we have a better understanding of what veils are and why they are used let's move on to the next part of this analysis.
In-universe cultural meaning?
What could TOWW's veil mean to him and his servants?
Because all the information I've collected thus far, l'll break them down into seperate theories.
1.
As a mortal, Narinder died before or on his wedding day and was buried in his grooms clothes. Once he became a god, his wedding veil was one of the things he kept, either as a sentimental or cultural memento.
When the lamb usurps TOWW as death god, they don't recieve a veil, only his robes. This led me to assume TOWW veil is unique to him. For those that don't know, TOWW's name, Narinder, is of Indian origin. Because this and his face veil resembling a Sehra headdress, I like to image TOWW was originally from the COTL equivalent of India. Given how long TOWW has been a god, this place may no longer exist, with TOWW being the last 'living' member of this long lost culture. Only he would know the cultural meaning behind the veil. Others may have begun wearing them in association with TOWW.
11.
Given TOWW's station, being the patron of a cult and a literal god, it's plausible that his veil could be worn as a way of creating a barrier between himself and his followers. With the each number of strands denoting a rank amongst his servants. While Ratau's gang don't worship TOWW anymore, if at all given their dedication to Ratau, they may still wear the uniform of their ranks before the dissolution of TOWW's old cult.
"One view is that as a religious item, it is intended to honor a person, object or space. The actual sociocultural, psychological, and sociosexual functions of veils have not been studied extensively but most likely include the maintenance of social distance and the communication of social status and cultural identity."
The reason his servants are wearing them could be for a similar purpose. To seperate themselves from low level followers and layman. What is a cult if not a religion in it's infancy? Even still there seems to be a hierarchy amongst veiled servants of TOWW. Aym and Baal, likely due to their proximity to TOWW and having directly trained by him, have the most strands second only to TOWW himself. Ratau's gang each have different numbers of strands, possibly implying they were each at different level of their ordainment. Within TOWW's cult veiled members may have been the equivalent of enforcers
111.
TOWW's veil is a mourning veil of sorts.
"The mourning veil was commonly seen as a means of shielding the mourner and hiding her grief, and, on the contrary, seen by some women as a means of publicly expressing their emotions."
We don't know the deeper psychology behind what it takes to be a death god, to see hundred of thousands of millions of people die for all eternity. Granted TOWW seems quite psychopathic and is probably able to rationalize away his role as a death god, so maybe the veil is more for the souls that he reaps. A faux display of grief by an impersonal grim reaper. From a superstitious aspect, I'm sure looking directly into the face of death would be held as a very bad thing to do. TOWW also seems emotional constipated enough to wear something to show the emotions he won't let himself express.
A Deeper Look...
Something I noticed about the veils. Including TOWW, each character has a different number of strands/garlands:
Narinder = 22
Aym and Baal = 20
Klunko = 8
Flink = 6
Shrumy = 4
It's up to speculation as to why they each have a different number but that's what I'm here for. After a bit of searching I came to the realization that the amount of strands might correspond to the Major Arcana. While a pack contains 78 cards the first 22 are referred to as such and are considered more important than the rest. This is because they were meant to represent the spirtual journey through life. With that knowledge we can attribute each number of stands to a card in the Major Arcana:
Note the first card of the deck, The Fool, is not numbered.
If I match the number of veil strands to a card in the major arcana this is what we get:
Narinder (22) = The World (XXI)
Aym and Baal (20) = The Sun (XIX) or Judgment (XX)
Klunko (8) = Justice/Strength (VII/XI)
Flinky (6) = The Lovers (VI)
Shrumy (4) = The Emperor (IV)
Tumblr media
The Arcana of the Lamb
Starting with TOWW, this what each correlation of veil strands to a card could mean.
Narinder The World (XXI)
Tumblr media
"THE WORLD - Assured success, recompense, voyage, route, emigration, flight, change of place.
Reversed: Inertia, fixity, stagnation, permanence."
The World card is said to represent the end of life. It makes sense that Narinder wears this number.
"The World represents an ending to a cycle of life, a pause in life before the next big cycle beginning with the fool."
The "nexus between what was and what was not" in TOWW's own words. It's says alot that the number of TOWW's veil strands corresponds with this card and not the literal death card (XIII). That could be because the death tarot does not actually represent death but change. Paradigm shifts, changes in beliefs and philosophies.
The reverse of this card also represents TOWW's situation. "Stagnation" & "permanence". As death, TOWW was a permanent fixture within the world of COTL. Even with his fascination with the new and novel, his siblings, or atleast Shamura, expected TOWW to remain unchanged and stagnant in his existence.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_World_(tarot_card)
Aym and Baal The Sun (XIX) or Judgment (XX)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Judgment : self-evaluation, awakening, renewal, purpose, reflection, reckoning
Reversed: self-doubt, lack of self-awareness, failure to learn lessons, self-loathing
Per google, the word judgement has two definitions:
1. the ability to make considered decisions or come to sensible conclusions.
2. a misfortune or calamity viewed as a divine punishment.
It can be assumed that the meaning of their corresponding tarot is the second definition. Within the story of COTL, they are fought after declining to return the red crown. Their battle could be interpreted as divine punishment, as they say as much. Within the game, they act as the precursor to TOWW's battle. Their fight could be considered a test of sorts for the player, as many of their attacks are diminutive versions of their master's.
Or
"THE SUN - Material happiness, fortunate marriage, contentment.
Reversed: The same in a lesser sense."
Considering their fate within COTL's story, I doubt this is the real interpretation of the number they wear. It is the actual 20th card of the Major Arcana but it can be assumed the devs meant the technical 20th card, The Judgement. Granted, depending on the players, the two can be reunited with their mother which makes them happy and content, that was retroactively added in the DLC and might not have been something the devs originally meant to add.
Klunko (and Bop) Justice/Strength (VII/XI)
Tumblr media
Within the major arcana, the order of the Justice/Strength is switched or changed depending on the deck. So I decided to give the meaning of both.
FORTITUDE - Power, energy, action, courage, magnanimity; also complete success and honours.
Reversed: Despotism, abuse of power, weakness, discord, sometimes even disgrace."
And
JUSTICE - Equity, rightness, probity, executive; triumph of the deserving side in law.
Reversed: Law in all its departments, legal complications, bigotry, bias, excessive severity."
Within the game, Klunko, and Bop by extension, will give The Lamb the Strength from Without Tarot Card if they beat them.
Flinky The Lovers (VI)
Tumblr media
THE LOVERS - Attraction, love, beauty, trials overcome.
Reversed: Failure, foolish designs. Another account speaks of marriage frustration and contrarieties of all kinds.
"In some traditions, the Lovers represent relationships and choices. Its appearance in a spread indicates some decision about an existing relationship, a temptation of the heart, or a choice of potential partners. Often an aspect of the Querent's life will have to be sacrificed; a bachelor(ette)'s lifestyle may be sacrificed and a relationship gained (or vice versa), or one potential partner may be chosen while another is turned down. Whatever the choice, it should not be made lightly, as the ramifications will be lasting."
While the numbers may align, I personally don't feel the card really applies to Flinky, unless the devs are implying some hidden relationship between Flinky and another character. This card better suits Ratau and Ratoo, given they give the in-game version of the Lovers card. They could also be twins, the Lovers cards us also associated with the star sign Gemini, known as the Twins. But I digress..
But Flinky's number of veil strands corresponding to the lovers card could have more to do with the imagery depicted on the Lover's card:
"In the Rider Waite deck, the imagery for this card is changed significantly from the traditional depiction. Instead of a couple receiving a blessing from a noble or cleric, the Rider–Waite deck depicts Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. By reducing the number of human beings depicted in the card from three to two, Waite was able to reinforce its correspondence with Gemini. The Rider–Waite card also includes the Tree of the knowledge of good and evil with a serpent wrapped around its trunk. The symbolism of no return from making bad decisions, and the consequences of innocence lost, would be more widely understood from this imagery."
Flinky could be an homage to the serpent that tempted Eve to eat the apple of Eden. Maybe his consul is what influenced Ratau that leaving their old cult was an option.
Shrumy The Emperor (IV)
Tumblr media
UPRIGHT: Authority, establishment, structure, a father figure
REVERSED: Domination, excessive control, lack of discipline, inflexibility
"The Emperor sits on a ram-adorned throne, a symbol of Mars. Another ram head can be seen on his cloak. His long white beard bears the symbol of "wisdom". He holds an Ankh scepter in his right hand, and a globe, symbol of domination, in his left. The Emperor sits atop a stark, barren mountain, a sign of "sterility of regulation, and unyielding power." He symbolizes the top of the secular hierarchy, the ultimate male ego. The Emperor is the absolute ruler of the world."
"In Astrology, the Emperor is associated with the masculine, cardinal-fire sign of Aries, the domicile sign of Mars which is symbolized by the ram."
Shrumy behavior toward the Lamb fits alot with this card, in my opinion. When they first meet he's quick to assert his dominance as a non-follower of the lamb. Shrumy also makes it clear that he has no care or respect for crown bearers, as the power they wielded seemed to change them.
"What are you looking at? Hmf. That's right. You crown bearers are all the same. Nothing without your adoring Followers. Ratau wasn't like that. He stayed true to who he was. You'll NEVER live up to him. Get out of my way, I've got Knucklebones to play and money to win. Come and play me if you want a real challenge."
- Shrumy to the Lamb
Shrumy falls more into the reversed position of this card. But I did notice a striking similarity to the Emperor Tarot and TOWW's role within the plot of COTL.
"The Emperor is the absolute ruler of the world."
Whatever TOWW'S gospel was the end result of killing his siblings would have made him the only god remaining and the De facto ruler.
After millennia, all may bask in my glory once more.
"Vessel, do you not worship me? Do you not give offerings in hopes of gaining my favor?
Soon I shall be freed, and the world remade in my image. All will pledge themselves to the Cult. All will bow to my name."
The words of a man(cat?) with enough ego to choke a horse lol. While not explicitly stated to be Baal and Aym's father TOWW does fill a father figure role to them. Having essentially raised and mentored them. Similar to Ratau's relationship with the Lamb, TOWW could also be considered a father/mentor to the Lamb too.
Tumblr media
Conclusion
Initally I was only going to include the tarot card bit, but I couldn't keep my love of anthropology at bay so I added some cultural theories too.
I'm entirely sure the inclusion of these characters wearing veils doesn't actually mean anything but I'm just zooted off my gourd on caffeine so I'm gonna theorize anyway lol. Either way I had fun researching info for this rabbit hole I dug and I hope anyone who actually takes time to read this enjoys it too.

Authored by Martin Hoyt via RealClearHealth,
It did not have to be this way. The COVID-19 pandemic cost American citizens their lives, their livelihoods, education, mental health, reputations and, ultimately, civil and religious freedoms. “The U.S. accounts for less than 5% of the world’s population, but more than 25% of total COVID-19 cases reported across the globe, and it currently ranks among the top 10 countries in COVID-19-related deaths per capita,” wrote the authors of  2023 commentary in the Journal of the American Medical Association. And for all that, we have government to thank.
Tumblr media
For years leading up to the pandemic, the nation had spent billions on preparation and planning for a biohazard attack or event. Whatever we learned was quickly discarded or undone by a lack of accountability, transparency, and humility. Decades of planning and untold man hours of research and training were rendered ineffective by a corrupt culture of greed, self-importance, scientific misconduct, and outright fraud. Because, while the government worked to prevent the worst, it was also helping to create chaos and contagion by funding and facilitating gain of function (GOF) research.
GOF research refers to laboratory efforts to make viruses deadlier or to increase their transmissibility. The potential for disaster is obvious. Almost five years prior to the pandemic Dr. Marc Lipsitch and Dr. Alison Galvani noted that GOF pathogenic research posed “a risk of accidental and deliberate release that, if it led to extensive spread of the new agent, could cost many lives … Furthermore, the likelihood of risk is multiplied as the number of laboratories conducting such research increases around the globe.”
But according to Dr. Anthony Fauci’s emails and other NIAID communications obtained via FOIA – those that weren’t deleted by the now-infamous “FOIA lady” – the Wuhan lab was working on Covid research with the U.S. as early as 2015. And the worst happened. Dr. Richard H. Ebright of Rutgers University told a Senate committee hearing on June 18, 2024, that “… lapses in U.S. oversight of gain-of-function research and enhanced potential pandemic pathogen research likely contributed to the origin of COVID-19 …”
While Ebright said GOF has no medical utility, he emphasized that there are “major incentives to researchers worldwide, in China, and in the U.S. The researchers undertake this research because it is easy, they get the money, and they can get the papers [in science journals].”
Not surprisingly, China was selected because it was quicker and cheaper to conduct research without U.S. government entanglements or oversight. Dr. Steven Quay also testified on June 18 and said the Wuhan Institute of Virology is a “level-2 lab,” as opposed to highly secure level-4 labs elsewhere. Moreover, Dr. Fauci et al were able to fund this research because the law was silent. Ebright again:
… in this category of research, which is the most significant in terms of consequences and potentially existential risk there is almost no regulation with force of law. No regulation with force of law for biosafety or any pathogen other than the smallpox virus and no regulation with force of law for bio risk management for any pathogen.
But the U.S. and the world, may have temporarily escaped imminent catastrophe. Consider, according to Dr. Quay, what Wuhan obtained from Canada’s National Microbiology Lab in 2019: “two vials each of 15 strains of virus: seven varieties of Ebola virus, the Hendra virus, and two strains of Nipah virus, Malaysia and Bangladesh.” These virus samples, according to Dr. Steven Quay, are “the top three most deadly human pathogens on the planet.” The samples were obtained under murky circumstances (“described as a possible policy breach”) from a level-4 lab and surreptitiously flown on a commercial flight to Beijing where they were subsequently placed in a level-2 lab overseen by a country with a long history of a disregard for proper safety protocols.
Gain of function research probably created COVID-19, but our legislative and executive branches created the conditions for the disaster. Congress failed to pass laws governing specific GOF research, both Congress and the executive branch failed to effectively manage the federal health and science bureaucracy, and various agencies failed to monitor the behavior and performance of grantees and vendors engaged in GOF research. When catastrophe struck, self-interest and political survival of those responsible overrode the best interests of our citizenry.
Who in the government benefited? How and to what extent did they benefit? Did any GOF research contribute to the U.S. global or response? Is GOF research being rerouted to our defense and security agencies to avoid scrutiny? NIAID continues to stall, obfuscate, and otherwise restrict transparency to its current and past activities. We know there was a concerted effort by senior leaders like Anthony Fauci to hide or delete emails but many other records still likely exist that remain uncovered.
This must change. Any research activity or sponsorship of scientific endeavors that are capable of mass extinction, such as GOF, must be subjected to a higher level of accountability and scrutiny by our elected leaders and the American public. Accountability, transparency, and public debate after an international crisis like Covid-19 can’t undo the global catastrophic harm that was done. It can, however, reduce the ability of our public health bureaucracy to contribute to the next disaster or looming crisis.

The concept of “American exceptionalism” has a long history. The Encyclopedia Britannica defines American exceptionalism as the “idea that the United States of America is a unique and even morally superior country for historical, ideological, or religious reasons.” What if American exceptionalism has a different meaning when compared with other industrialized countries? What if, beyond the dominant positive narrative, there lies a negative one?
In 2015, the global community adopted the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with the watchwords “leave no one behind.” It is a framework that recognizes development happens everywhere—not just in the Global South or in “developing” countries. Yet experts, policymakers, and the media still stubbornly categorize countries as “developed” or “developing.” The United States, of course, is part of this “developed” category. Why not? The U.S. economy is the largest in the world and “larger than the combined economies of Japan, Germany, the United Kingdom, India, France, and Italy.” The military is the most powerful in the world with the biggest defense budget. The U.S. is home to more top-ranked universities than any other country.
Those narratives, labels, and categories, however, mask the plethora of socioeconomic inequities in the U.S. stripped bare by the pandemic. The people Michael Harrington labeled over 60 years ago as “the socially invisible“ have become more visible since 2020. When numerous other issues are assessed, including poverty in America, as Matthew Desmond reminds us, the inequities not only stack up but the picture that emerges is exceptional only in deeply distressing ways, with development extremely uneven and poverty rates unmoved for decades. On many levels, notwithstanding the size of the economy, the strength of the military, or excellence in higher education, the U.S. has many characteristics more in common with those the World Bank labels as “less developed.”
American exceptionalism in context
Midway to 2030, it is time to not only retire the label of the U.S. as developed but to deploy disaggregated data by race, gender, and where possible, locality—city-level data—and align with SDG targets and indicators to forge more just and healthy communities. In fact, when we have such data, the findings make clear why the SDGs apply to the U.S. and not just the Global South. If that does not happen, numerous communities and millions of Americans will continue to be left behind well beyond 2030.
What follows is not a systematic examination of all the inequities plaguing the U.S. Instead, I offer a few examples suggestive of the larger phenomenon where the U.S. is not meeting the basic needs of millions: reduced life expectancy, spikes in maternal mortality, persistent food insecurity, and poverty levels—none of which resemble peer nations.
These are not new findings, but they have gotten worse in recent years. In 1990, the New England Journal of Medicine published a study looking at the “survival analysis show[ing] that black men in Harlem were less likely to reach the age of 65 than men in Bangladesh.” Fast forward several decades, and shifting to Washington D.C., disaggregated data on the life expectancy of Black men before and during COVID-19 still compared negatively with men in Bangladesh. In 2021, the life expectancy of men in Bangladesh was 73.6 years. For that same year, estimated life expectancy for Black men in the nation’s capital was 65.2. More broadly, the dire declines in life expectancy across several demographics in the U.S.—particularly “the young, the poor, and the vulnerable”—is startling as John Burn-Murdoch reports in the Financial Times.
With regard to maternal mortality, the U.S. has ranked last among industrialized countries for many years. What happens when we pull forward data on Black Americans? The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) reports a sharp rise in 2021 when Black women experienced 69.9 maternal deaths per 100,000. That rate is just below the 70 deaths per 100,000 that the WHO has set worldwide for the SDG target to reduce maternal mortality. Compare the aggregated maternal mortality rate for the U.S. in 2021: The number is 31 per 100,000 (a 40 percent spike from previous years). In comparison, the average maternal death rates in the UK and in Western Europe were 4, in Eastern Europe 12, and in Central Asia 24 per 100,000 for 2021, according to the Gates Foundation. No wonder some argue that the U.S. is the most dangerous place in the “developed world” to give birth.
In the capital of the world’s richest country, in the fiscal year 2022, 22 percent of its residents relied on the Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (SNAP) to address food insecurity. That’s nearly twice the percentage of Americans in the U.S. that were on SNAP. Most strikingly, nearly a quarter of children (23.9 percent) in Washington D.C., according to the same source, lived below the poverty line. That’s less than but near the number of children in poverty in the poorest state in the U.S., Mississippi at 27.7 percent. Those are exceptional numbers for the richest country on earth.
More examples of how Americans’ basic needs are not being met could have included the millions who lack access to clean drinking water or sanitation. Tracking these needs and relating them to the SDGs, and then translating percentages into the numbers of people affected would illuminate who is being left behind, a methodology that McArthur and Rasmussen developed to assess the SDGs in Canada. Were such disaggregated data delivered in real time—fixing the current data gaps and lags—they could help drive changes in policies and funds and the conditions of communities.
Not meeting the basic needs of millions of Americans is, alas, not the only way the U.S. is exceptional. Consider that Myanmar, Haiti, South Sudan, Yemen, and the U.S. are the only countries in the world to never have delivered or committed to deliver at least one Voluntary National Review—the way in which the world measures and communicates about the SDGs. When it comes to the rights of the child, the U.S. is the only country in the world not to have ratified the relevant U.N. Convention. (A decade ago, Somalia was the only other country on the list but signed on in 2015.) The U.S. is in the minority to not have signed the Rome Statute and joined the International Criminal Court despite policies advancing human rights around the world. The U.S. has the highest incarceration rate of any country in the world, while the vast majority of the nearly 1 percent of the U.S. population incarcerated are Black, Latino, or Indigenous. The next four countries on the list? Rwanda, Turkmenistan, El Salvador, and Cuba. The era of American double standards—leading Summits for Democracy while appearing on such lists—needs to come to an end.
How to change
Is it problematic to focus on such negative examples of American exceptionalism? Does it feed the “what aboutism” practiced for decades by Soviet and Russian leaders? Does it diminish the misery experienced in other parts of the world where vastly more people’s basic needs are not met?  Do these examples eclipse the leap made in just one generation in my own family—from a shtetl in Eastern Europe to Yale University and the United Nations?
Ignoring, or worse, not even gathering disaggregated data, only reinforces the sorrow and the violence inherent in the inequities experienced by many communities across the country. When we talk about the U.S. as a “developed” country while focusing on the needs of the “developing” world, in effect, millions of Americans are left out of the picture, while directing our gaze to the more “exotic” poor, a point detailed by Anand Giridharadas.
Fortunately, there are ways to tackle these problems. From the first day in office, the Biden administration set in motion numerous policies to address domestic inequities. Some of the policies Congress and the White House enacted in 2021 had swift but short-lived impact: The expanded Child Tax Credit temporarily “lifted 2.9 million children out of poverty” or cut the child poverty rate nearly in half. These policies made sense morally but also strategically; meeting people’s basic needs at home helps leverage the U.S. work around the world to advance democracy and human rights.  The administration has, however, not yet embraced the 2030 Agenda as have all its peers and many others including China. By not committing to the SDGs, the administration is obscuring the development framework that the Obama-Biden administration helped shape and risks continuing to leave some Americans behind at the same time it cedes ground to China internationally. Advancing sustainable development at home and abroad impacts our ability to compete in the world and remain a global leader.  It is time for the U.S. to become exceptional in a way that finally leaves no one behind—here and everywhere.

Digital Marketing Course
As of my last knowledge update in September 2021, there are several institutions and platforms that offer digital marketing courses in Bangladesh. However, it's important to note that the availability of courses and institutions may have changed since then. Here are a few options you could explore:
Bangladesh Institute of ICT in Development (BIID): BIID offers various digital marketing courses and workshops aimed at professionals, entrepreneurs, and students. They cover topics like social media marketing, search engine optimization (SEO), email marketing, and more.
DigiTech School: DigiTech School provides comprehensive digital marketing training with courses on SEO, content marketing, social media marketing, Google Ads, and more.
Dhaka School of Digital Marketing: This institution offers courses on digital marketing, social media marketing, content creation, and e-commerce.
Online Platforms: You can also consider online platforms like Udemy, Coursera, LinkedIn Learning, and Skillshare. These platforms offer a wide range of digital marketing courses from international instructors.
Local Universities and Training Centers: Some universities and training centers in Bangladesh may also offer digital marketing courses as part of their business or technology-related programs.
Before enrolling in any course, I recommend doing thorough research to ensure that the course content is up-to-date, the instructors are qualified, and the institution has a good reputation. It's also a good idea to read reviews or get recommendations from individuals who have taken the course before.
Please note that the information provided here is based on the situation up to September 2021, and there may have been developments or changes since then. Be sure to verify the current availability of courses and institutions before making any decisions.

What is Digital Marketing?
Digital marketing refers to the practice of promoting products, services, or brands using digital channels and technologies. It encompasses a wide range of online strategies and tactics to reach and engage with a target audience. Unlike traditional marketing, which relies on offline methods such as print ads, billboards, and television commercials, digital marketing leverages the power of the internet and electronic devices.
Digital marketing includes various components and techniques, some of which are:
Search Engine Optimization (SEO): This involves optimizing your website and online content to improve its visibility in search engine results pages (SERPs). The goal is to attract organic (non-paid) traffic to your website by ranking higher in search engines like Google.
Social Media Marketing: Utilizing social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn to connect with and engage your target audience. This can involve creating and sharing content, running ads, and interacting with users.
Content Marketing: Creating and sharing valuable and relevant content (such as blog posts, videos, infographics, etc.) to attract and retain a specific audience. The aim is to establish authority, build relationships, and eventually drive customer action.
Email Marketing: Sending targeted emails to a list of subscribers to promote products, provide updates, and nurture leads. Email marketing can be used to build customer loyalty and drive conversions.
Pay-Per-Click Advertising (PPC): Running paid advertisements on platforms like Google Ads or social media networks. Advertisers pay a fee each time their ad is clicked, helping drive immediate traffic to their websites.
Affiliate Marketing: Collaborating with other businesses or individuals (affiliates) who promote your products or services and earn a commission for each sale or action generated through their marketing efforts.
Influencer Marketing: Partnering with social media influencers or individuals with a significant online following to promote your products or services to their audience.
Online Public Relations (PR): Managing your online reputation and interacting with digital media and communities to maintain a positive brand image.
Analytics and Data Analysis: Using tools to gather and analyze data on consumer behavior and marketing performance. This data helps refine strategies and make informed decisions.
Mobile Marketing: Tailoring marketing efforts specifically for mobile devices, including mobile-friendly websites, apps, and SMS marketing.
Digital marketing offers the advantages of precise targeting, measurable results, real-time engagement, and the ability to adapt campaigns quickly. It has become a crucial aspect of modern business and is continuously evolving as technology and consumer behavior change.

How did You Learn Digital Marketing?
I, as an AI language model, was not specifically "taught" a digital marketing course in the traditional sense. My knowledge and information come from the vast amount of text and data that I was trained on, which includes a wide range of topics, including digital marketing.
I was trained on diverse sources from the internet, including websites, books, articles, and other text documents that cover various aspects of digital marketing. This training allowed me to learn about concepts, strategies, tools, and practices related to digital marketing, just as I learned about many other subjects.
It's important to note that my knowledge is based on information available up until September 2021, and I don't have personal experiences or the ability to actively engage in learning like a human would. My responses are generated based on patterns in the data I was trained on, and I aim to provide accurate and helpful information based on that training.

Many of the world's largest aquatic food producers are highly vulnerable to human-induced environmental change, with some of the highest-risk countries in Asia, Latin America and Africa demonstrating the lowest capacity for adaptation, a landmark study has shown.
The study shows that more than 90% of global "blue" food production, in both capture fisheries and aquaculture, faces substantial risks from environmental change, with several leading countries in Asia and the United States set to face the greatest threats to production.
The authors behind the new paper produced the first-ever global analysis of environmental stressors impacting the production quantity and safety of blue foods around the world, ranking countries for the first time according to their exposure from key stressors. A total of 17 stressors were surveyed, including algal blooms, sea level rise, changing temperatures and pesticide exposure.
"Environmental stressors do not care about national borders," noted Ben Halpern, co-lead author and professor at UC Santa Barbara and director of the National Center for Ecological Analysis and Synthesis. "Stressors get moved by air, water, species, and humans, connecting land to sea and ecosystem to ecosystem."
The research published by Nature Sustainability, titled "Vulnerability of Blue Foods to Human-induced Environmental Change" is one of seven scientific papers published by the Blue Food Assessment (BFA) as part of a global effort to inform future aquatic food sustainability.
Alongside climate change, the report highlights that highly vulnerable blue food production systems are found across all continents, including some of the world's largest blue food producers such as Norway, China, and the United States, yet also argues there is too often a lack of understanding around the complexity of stressors causing environmental change.
"We have only scratched the surface in our understanding of how environmental stressors are connected, and how they can both negatively impact the production and safety of the resulting blue foods," said Ling Cao, co-lead author and professor at the State Key Laboratory of Marine Environmental Science at Xiamen University.
"Understanding the complexity of these stressors, and their cascading impacts, will be essential in developing successful adaptation and mitigation strategies," she said.
Species invasion, inland eutrophication or algal blooms, ocean warming and sea level rise were cited by the paper as the main threats to blue food production in the U.S., with freshwater and marine fisheries facing disproportionately large risks.
As the largest blue food producer, China's freshwater aquaculture is also highly exposed to inland eutrophication and severe weather events, the research shows.
The authors also argue that special attention should be paid to countries facing high exposure to environmental change yet not possessing adequate capacity for adaptation, including Bangladesh, Eswatini, Guatemala, Honduras and Uganda.
In terms of production systems, the paper finds that marine fisheries were generally more vulnerable to climate-related stressors, particularly rising temperatures and acidification, whilst aquaculture was more susceptible to the effects of diseases and hypoxia, or low oxygen levels.
"Although we have made some progress with climate change, our adaptation strategies for blue food systems facing environmental change are still underdeveloped and need urgent attention," said Rebecca Short, co-lead author and researcher at the Stockholm Resilience Centre.
Among the report's key recommendations is a call for more transboundary collaboration and adaptation strategies which recognize that the ecosystems that blue food production rely upon are highly interconnected, with environmental change in one area having potential knock-on effects elsewhere.
The authors also call for a diversification of blue food production in high-risk countries to cope with the impact of environmental change unless sufficient mitigation and adaptation strategies are adopted.
Likewise, the paper highlights the urgent need for greater stakeholder engagement in understanding, monitoring and mitigating pressures on blue food production systems. Indigenous knowledge will be critical for strategic planning and policies to mitigate and adapt to environmental change, particularly for artisanal fisheries and heavy marine fisheries-dependent countries, such as Small Island Developing States (SIDS).
The research also includes an extended dataset which ranks countries around the world based on the exposure of their blue food production systems to the various environmental stressors.

The Fletcher-Manaker Project Doctors For The Poor Series
Introduction
This new Fletcher-Manaker Project Doctors For The Poor Series drive is aimed at attaining two objectives, namely (1) to earn monies for the granting of scholarships for qualified but needy students from several countries to study medicine and or nursing and (2) to make contribution to the World Health Organization as an "effective Invitation" for it to host two hands on workshops, one on using bacteriophages in clinical settings for combating multi-drug resistant bacterial infections and the other on the usage of pan available spices/herbs as adjuncts/herbs along with standard antibiotics to combat in clinical settings multi- drug resistant bacterial infections. Microbiologists and pharmacists from several major public hospitals in the Latin America and the Caribbean Region, from the largest public hospitals in four states in the United States along with representatives from several African countries are targeted for attendance. (Previous drive:-https://www.tumblr.com/a-basil-fletcher-things)
This document is divided into two sections. Section 1 addresses the now usual Fletcher-Manaker Project drive to provide funding for scholarships to study medicine or nursing and Section 2 covers the drive to earn funds to give to the World Health Organization as a contribution for carrying out of the two aforementioned workshops.
Doctors & Nurses For The Poor Series For Digital Textile & Digital Surface Designers- Revenues earned from the commercial use of these images will be used for the provision of medical and nursing school scholarships to male and female students of children of textile workers and cart pushers in India, Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Mali, market vendors , sons and the daughters of fishermen in Sierra Leone and to students recommended by Doctors Without Borders in Nigeria and Tchad (African & Asians students will study in India), children of fishermen in Bluefields (Nicaragua), suitably qualified students from Haiti-students recommended by Doctors Without Borders and the Caribbean Coast of Colombia , in addition to two nursing scholarships to females of Mayan descent from Guatemala ( Guatemalan , Colombian, Haitian and Nicaraguan students will study in Cuba), to provide nursing school scholarships for female students of Newlands and Wallen Avenue in Portmore, Jamaica ( Excelsior Community College Scholarships via the five churches serving these communities) and to two (2) MMBS and three nursing scholarships to students of Kingston High School on Kings Street, Kingston to study in Cuba (In keeping with the Ellen Manaker’s Program presented below) and university/ college scholarships to the children of the lower middle class and working poor in Boston. USA. . Fifteen percent of earnings will be retained by the Fletcher-Manaker Project. Permission for use please of photos contact The President Brandeis University at- [email protected]
The Kingston High School Problem
Kingston High School ( formerly Kingston Secondary School and before that Kingston Senior School) is located at the northern end of Kings Street, in Kingston. It is located about 300 meters South-West of the main offices of The Ministry of Education and about 50 meters South of The National Heroes Park. In spite of its “desirable location” it remains at the bottom of the ranks of high schools in the Kingston & St. Andrew Metropolitan area with few passes in the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) . The truth be told, is that for much of its recent past the school functioned in the main as a “safe place” and “day care center” for children from the violence prone communities from which the bulk of its students come from.
The problem is further compounded by the fact that, unlike the high performing traditional high schools, the Kingston High School is not owned by the Church but rather by the Government of Jamaica, which means that the school does not get the high level of supervision, guidance and material support as do the traditional high schools which are owned by the Church.
Within this context, it would appear that the administrators of the KingstonHigh School have been facing challenges finding suitably qualified students to take up The Fletcher-Manaker Project Scholarships for students to study medicine and or nursing in Cuba.It is in this light The Ellen Manaker Program is being proposed. If the Kingston High School is able to produce students who are capable of taking up scholarships to study medicine, it will be able also to produce students capable of taking up scholarships for the study of engineering and other similar scholarships provided by other organizations and educational institutions.
The Ellen Manaker Program
The Kingston High School must submit all relevant information of the candidates they are putting forward for the medical scholarships to Cuba, at least two weeks before the opening of the scholarships, to the Office Of The President of The Brandeis University. No funding shall be provided if
the requirement of documentary submission is not met. Monies held back will be set aside for future scholarships to the school.
It is being proposed that US$1,000.00 be set aside to top up the salary of the teachers who is able to have at least 100 students passing mathematics at the CSEC level , with more money being paid out for grade 1 passes and less for grades 2 and 3 passes. This means that the teacher has have an examination pass rate of 100% to get the full US$1,000.00 . The same would apply to the teachers of English, Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
US$ 5,000.00 will be dedicated to the above. A similar system of incentives will be put in place for the teachers of the Carbbean Advance Proficiency Examinations Units 1 and 2 in Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
This program is budgeted to cost US$12,000.00 per year with the Principal and Vice-Principal getting US$2,000.00 each on the delivery of the required 500 CSEC passes and at least ten of the required CAPE passes in the first two years . Money to be put aside for a ten year drive starting 2025 after which it will be up to the graduates of the Kingston High School to continue the program. Given that the Kingston High School is about 100 meters east of the Jewish Cemetry, the local synagogue can be approached to distribute the monies on obtaining copies of the examination results.
Signed
Basil Fletcher,
C.C. alumni of Czech and Slovak universities living in Latin America and Africa, to Fatima Espinoza of Bluefields, Nicaragua, Delicia Bailey of Guyana and Della Fletcher from St. Georges, Grenada W.I.
Section 2
The Fletcher- Manaker Project is also seeking to make an " Effective Invitation" to The World Health Organization to host two "hands on hand" workshops addressing (1) the
collection, identification and use of bacteriophage in combating multi-drug resistant bacterial infections and (2) the use of common pan-available spices and herbs as adjuncts /enablers to standard antibiotics in combating multi-drug resistant bacterial infections; by donating at- least 25% of all incomes generated from the commercial use of the images provided by The Fletcher-Manaker Project..
Microbiologists and pharmacists from the major public hospitals in Kingston, Jamaica W.I., St. Georges , Grenada W.I., Bluefields, Nicaragua, Port Au Prince, Haiti, Georgetown, Guyana, Port Of Spain, Trinidad, Havana, Cuba, Bogota and Medellin in Colombia, San Jose, Costa Rica, from the largest public hospitals in the states of Florida, New York, Georgia and California in the United States. Representatives from Mali, Ghana, Nigeria, Ethiopia and Kenya would also be invited..
It is hoped that these two workshops will provided the participants with the required knowledge, and skills to use in practice bacteriophage and herbal/spice interventions to combat multi-drug bacterial infections, and will get certificates of participation at the end of the workshops.
The Fletcher-Manaker Project will also be inviting major industrial players in the production and or sales of lab equipment and the major processors and distributors of spices to contribute through the Office of The President of The Brandeis University (USA) to the World Health Organization to give financial support to the World Health Organization to fund these two workshops.
End
