ℐׅ 핑크 ─ INTRODUCTION. WHO ARE THE PINKETTES? 𝆬 ֪ ࣪ ᰍ

PINKALICIOUS ( also known as the PINKETTES ) is a five member girl group formed in 2018 through the tv show THE PINK TAPE under JADORE MEDIA. the show, which ran for 10 episodes, was only aired after the final lineup was made. ten trainees competed day-in and day-out for a spot in the four member team. the evaluations were regarded top-secret and the voting was only held amongst a specially select few. the official lineup was only revealed to the public at the end of the show. the members selected to debut as pinkalicious were: CHARMEINE, LONDON, TANA, AND MIKYUNG. however, though the show advertised the final lineup as only four members, the final member NELLY — a fellow contestant on the show who didn’t rank in the top four — was added before debut.

despite the controversy and speculation of the authenticity of the ranking system, and how sketchy the pink tape project was perceived to some, the pinkettes still found success within the industry. the musical act is most notable for their concept of embracing femininity, versatile sound, and often controversial fashion.

meet the pinkalicious pinkettes !

ㅤㅤᨳ᭬ ˚ 𝆹 ੭̠ CHANTANA KANAROT was born to an industrial designer father and a fashion model mother. another zephyr star who was born into riches, her parents already being stars passing that luxury down to her. though, she didn’t get to spend much time with her parents as a child. she found more of a bond with her maid than her actual mother or father. she was among the popular kids, her parents in close relations with trouvaille’s briar lee’s family. the two of them grew up together and shared their power, obviously not without comparisons from their peers and everyone else watching. much like her best friend, tana was always naturally the center of attention. with this eminence, shortly after briar was reached out to by zephyr entertainment, tana received an offer from jadore media, urging her to sign with them. she took the offer and eventually started training with them for a rather short period of time. she then went onto compete on the pink tape and place third overall in the end.

ㅤㅤᨳ᭬ ˚ 𝆹 ੭̠ BAE YOONA was born to two older parents on a fateful day in may 1997, her toy company owner father and bakery owner mother. yoona lived a quiet life as a child, being homeschooled all her life with her only hobbies being playing with toys and reading fairytale’s. she didn’t have any friends aside from her parents and house cat, timmy. she never expected much from life, initially aspiring to be an author. however, when she was just fourteen years old attending her father’s business party for the launching of a new toy, she was noticed and scouted by an investor from zephyr entertainment’s fashion subsidiary, pink friday, for her astonishing visuals. there she was immediately given the opportunity to come model for the company. of course, she was hesitant to accept the offer, as were her parents, being scared for her to be out on her own in such a rough industry but eventually, after a lot of thinking, she took the offer and went to model for pink friday. she did have a plethora of shoots while under the agency, however, jung aeri saw bigger things for her. she just knew yoona had to be onstage with her charm and beauty, so she sought to transfer her from their modeling department to their training department, where she would train to become an idol, not knowing that she would be put on a competition show — aeri and jisoo figuring to not tell her until the show was being filmed.

ㅤㅤᨳ᭬ ˚ 𝆹 ੭̠ KANG MIKYUNG was born on august 19, 1999 as the eldest daughter of four kids, one of her younger siblings being melliflous’ kang siwoo. she was raised in the heart of seoul by two cooks. many would describe mikyung as a menace growing up — leading up to the many scandals regarding her attitude she has now. she was a theater kid in high school, starring in a large majority of her school’s productions. she stuck her hand in just about everything making it her job to be at the forefront of anything ever: debate, student council, school newspaper, girl scouts, all of it. she loved being at the center and she loved beating people, which is why she jumped at the opportunity to be apart of a competition show. she knew she was destined to be a star and she walked into the pink tape with the idea that she was for sure getting a spot in that group; and nonetheless, she did.

ㅤㅤᨳ᭬ ˚ 𝆹 ੭̠ CAI ARNELA, better known as nelly, was born in baton rouge, louisiana on november 19, 2000 to a chauffeur father and maid mother. her mother and father worked for a rich family in louisiana and met while they were working. they ended up having a surprise child, her mother intending on keeping her a secret from her father and the family they worked for as long as possible — aka until she started showing. unfortunately, nelly’s parents split when she was twelve years old. growing up, nelly spent a lot of her time around the family her parents worked for and their children, not receiving the luxuries that they had. they were the same age but they were rich and they were popular, in the limelight all the time. she wanted that for herself. she followed them closely, studying them, craving to be in their world. one day, she went without her parents permission and auditioned for zephyr entertainment initially but ended up not making the cut. she then auditioned again but for the subsidiary jadore media and made it in. she was then set to compete on the competition show and ended up ranking fifth place, originally not making it into the lineup but being added in as the pinkette’s 5th member at the last minute.

ㅤㅤᨳ᭬ ˚ 𝆹 ੭̠ CHARMEINE YU was born on june 9, 2001 to a kindergarten teacher father and her late actress mother. charmeine was born in manhattan, new york but spent more of her childhood in staten island. she’d been born into the riches, being closely related to the lee’s — briar’s first cousin and her mother being the younger sister of briar’s mother. her parents were quite the opposites, her mother a free spirit, never scared to break rules and defy the odds while her father was a timid introvert, who never really got out much. she loved both of them, she and her mother always had a rocky relationship with the rest of the family. charmeine’s mother was never one to hold her tongue, which is why her, her mother and her sister regularly found themselves having conflict, disagreeing about the way she chose to live. aside from the regular family feud, charmeine spent most of her teenage years doing band and choir. she was a girl who was into what she was into and never got too into the mix with anything except her band and choir friends.

she’s always had a cool and mellow soul that got along with almost everyone, despite her opinionated personality. having this vibe, a notable family history, and more than exceptional vocal skills, she was quickly noticed by company scouts, however, one company stuck out the most to her. it was jadore media, subsidiary of the label that took her cousin, briar, in. it turns out that the label reached out to her multiple times before but she payed no mind initially, until she ended up taking the offer. she was then put on the competition show and becoming a fan favorite and ranking in first place, earning the crown of queen pink.
