eyes  close  at  the  sound  of  his  voice,  of  the  barely  restrained  rage  held  within  them.  he  knew  what  this  was  about,  immediately,  not  that  he  was  likely  to  admit  as  such  to  ben’s  face,  and  it  isn’t  as  though  he  could  blame  the  other  slytherin  for  his  reaction.  just  about  stifling  a  sigh  as  the  other  catches  up  to  his  side,  forcing  himself  to  roll  his  eyes.  “  i’m  certain  you  have  an  answer  already.  ”  lips  feel  heavy  as  he  moulds  them  into  a  smirk,  though  he  doesn’t  bother  to  turn  towards  him.  “  i  have  somewhere  to  be.  ”  he  sighs,  not  slowing  his  fast  pace,  though  he  does  alter  his  route  somewhat  in  an  attempt  to  keep  his  hiding  spot  concealed.  “  can  we  do  this  later  ?  ”  he’s  vaguely  away  of  the  fact  that  he’s  likely  only  riling  the  slytherin  further,  but  that  was  what  was  expected  of  people  like  him  ---  people  that  would  verbally  attack  someone  that  had  done  nothing.  though  he  knows  he  had  to  do  it,  both  to  end  the  interaction  and  to  ensure  his  charade  was  not  discovered,  he  still  knew  how  much  he  must  have  hurt  the  hufflepuff,  how  much  ben  cared  for  her.  knowing  that  he  had  to  do  it  did  not  make  it  easier  to  stomach.

this was my first year writing fic after years and years of reading it off and on.

My writing and posting has been slower in the past few months. Which, I have a love hate relationship with. Real life has been busy and ideas haven’t been flowing the way they used to, but also I’m forcing myself to be better with what I put out and how I share it. I’ve never really considered myself much a writer - I wrote little stories in grammar school, but by middle school other people seemed to be much more well equipped for fiction (I could still write kick ass academic essays - I’m very proud of research papers I’ve written about Beyoncé, Chicago (2002), and the history of House Music). Now I’m rambling. The point is. Writing fiction lead me to reading more fiction and reading more fanfiction (I’ve been lurking in the HP Fandom since idk when, ily hgnetwork.co.uk) and re-learning how to tell stories, well. Telling long ones, actively planning, being organized, all of it. I fell into the RWRB fandom, I need people to scream with about Kennedy Ryan’s ‘Before I Let Go’ trilogy, I was recommended books I would have never ever found in my life and loved them. I’ve watched movies, shows, documentaries that have been referenced. Listened to more Taylor Swift in this year alone than I have since 2009.

I’ve grown so much and still feel like I’ve come back to myself so much.

All of that to say, thank you to every one who has ever read anything that I've yeeted out into the universe, thank you for your ideas, your feedback, your comments, book recs, fic recs -- all of it means so much to me and here's to the next year of fics!

Hello my dear! I just wanted to say thank you so much for answering my previous ask about which islanders would be in which Harry Potter Hogwarts house! It was so enjoyable to read and I absolutely love how in depth you went with each character, so thank you for that! <3

If it isn’t too much trouble, would would it be alright if I asked which Casa boys houses be? (Minus Carl because you’ve already sorted him). I can kind of see Arjun being a Hufflepuff since although yes he comes on quite strong he really is just a super nice guy. And oh gods Felix would probably be Gryffindor. I can see him being like the Weasley twins but that would be an insult to the Weasley twins lmmaaoooooo jeksjswjjssjssjs. I can also totally see the narrator from the game being the sorting hat and just reading them so hard and they just sit there like 👁👄👁. Especially Lottie. I could totally see her being like Harry and begging the hat to put her in a certain house (Slytherin) only to be put in Hufflepuff instead and shes just like 🧍‍♀️??????? THAT WOULD BE SO FUNNY HAHAHSJSJSDKESJWJSJSJ

Sorry I got a bit sidetracked there! I just loved your take on the ask! And I’m lowkey kinda itching to right a Hogwarts AU now! I did my best with the Casa boys for you, although I don't feel like I know them as well as the other characters (except Carl 'cause I adore him). Let me know what you think though, and as always everyone's free to come with suggestions 💋

Arjun – Gryffindor

He's direct, confident, and so utterly unafraid, but also not someone who'd put himself first. I can also see him a Hufflepuff, but I think he would be someone who'd definitely go far in protecting others – which is classic Gryffindor.

Elijah – Slytherin

Ambitious, calculating, and perhaps a tiny bit arrogant but with a soft inside. He's the kind and friendly Slytherin we deserved to see in the books, although he's way too busy focusing on his own goals to really care what else is going on at Hogwarts.

Felix – Hufflepuff

Him and Lottie together in Hufflepuff would be quite... something. But his behaviour in CA to me is definitely the sigh of someone who's super loyal and dedicated once he's with someone. He's just super laid back, kind, but also a bit insecure under all his bravado. So yeah, I think Hufflepuff.

Graham – Gryffindor

I know him and Gary would disagree, but when it comes to certain core values they are fairly similar. I'd say Graham is very close to being Slytherin though, due to how he's willing to somewhat ignore others' feelings to get what he wants.

Kassam – Ravenclaw

Not necessarily "wise" in the classical sense of the word (but who cares about that old and problematic way of thinking anyway), but he's focused and creative, which to me makes him a Ravenclaw. He also has a tendency to slightly judge it when people don't know "obvious" things which, again, is a bit Ravenclaw to me.

exhaustion  weighs  on  him,  the  heaviest  type  of  blanket,  but  no  less  a  comfort.  the  war  was  over,  but  still  he  could  feel  it’s  stain  upon  his  heart.  the  dreams  reminded  him  that  it  was  real,  that  they’d  come  through  the  other  side  relatively  unscathed.  but  they  also  served  as  a  reminder  of  what  he’d  had  to  become  to  ensure  that  victory,  everything  he’d  done.  that  he  had  allowed  a  darkness  so  thick  to  touch  his  heart,  he  worried  he  had  become  forever  tainted  by  it’s  embrace.  swallowing,  his  lips  curve  in  an  attempt  at  a  reassuring  smile,  watching  the  other  for  a  long  moment.  “  they’ll  end  eventually.  ”  he  murmurs,  reaching  a  hand  out  to  touch  against  his  fingers;  a  rare  display  of  affection,  but  needing  to  feel  him  warm  and  real  and  alive.  “  you’re  awake  earlier  than  i’d  expected.  ”  he  murmurs,  watching  for  any  shadows  clouding  magnus’  eyes.  “  perhaps  we’re  both  suffering  again...?  ”

though  he’d  been  anticipating  the  hit,  it  did  nothing  to  alleviate  the  pain  blossoming  across  his  face,  nor  the  panic  that  swelled  as  his  arms  were  pulled  tighter  behind  his  back.  he  knew,  from  the  cruelty  plastered  over  felix’s  face,  the  frozen  depths  of  his  stare,  that  these  hits  were  not  only  for  what  they  thought  he  had  done  to  juliet;  but  for  every  one  of  his  friends  that  had  been  tormented�� by  his  group.  for  all  the  times  they  had  cornered  his  sister.  gaze  shifts  away  from  the  other  man,  despite  the  leering  look  upon  his  face,  searching  for  the  familiar  silver  hair;  a  jolt  of  rage  and  horror  struck  him  harder  than  the  next  hit  to  his  face  as  he  watched  bessie  and  ben  holding  down  magnus,  the  image  making  him  struggle  against  the  bruising  grip  dorean  had  him  in.  “  is  that  all  you've  got  ?  ”  he  spits  at  the  blonde,  teeth  bared  into  a  image  of  a  snarl.  “  perhaps  they’re  right  about  you  lot:  weak.  pathetic.  ”  each  word  more  a  lie  than  the  next,  but  he  had  to  do  something.  had  to  draw  them  away  from  magnus  in  the  only  way  he  knew  they’d  listen.  they  wanted  a  fight  ?  well,  he’d  give  them  one,  if  only  to  save  his  only  friend  from  this  very  fate.  “  why  don’t  you  let  me  go,  let’s  make  it  a  fair  fight  huh  ?  unless  you’re  too  much  of  a  coward  ?  ”  his  words  are  intentionally  antagonising,  but  he’s  hoping  the  rage  in  the  two  of  them  would  overshadow  any  logic  they  might  have  retained,  struggling  to  pull  out  of  their  grip.

I Would Do It All Again - For all the trauma he’s endured in his seventeen years of life, Harry has a hard time acknowledging what he’s good at. But he knows three things: he knows he’s excellent at Defense Against the Dark Arts (and the Dark Arts themself) he knows that he can catch a snitch in under an hour if the conditions are right, and he knows that he excels at pathologizing his emotions and his reactions to said emotions. all i wanted was you - 'Weasleys are Gryffindors', her mother had boasted proudly when she read Ron’s letter only a year ago. Ginny felt rather self-assured as she traveled to Hogwarts for the first time; as though she already knew what to expect during her first year - the sorting ceremony a mere formality. So, she was rather shocked when the Sorting Hat yelled out ‘Slytherin!’ after an uneasy five minutes atop her head. (T)

untitled HTGAWM AU - Alex was prepared for a lot of things when he got accepted into law school -- the long hours, the tension headaches, the competition. He was sure he could handle it. What he wasn't ready for was falling in love and being an accessory to murder.

five fics i’ve written (or am currently writing) that i like?

every thing i need is right here by my side (WIP, M) - A Gender AU of Harry and Gideon stumbling through young adulthood. Balancing careers, family dynamics and the ever present attraction they’ve both tried to ignore for years. They have a cat, too. She’s what started all of this for me. 

A little snippet of a chapter that I don’t know when I’ll post: 

“Gideon, you have to give him a break.” 

“No.”

“He feels awful. You know, sometimes he says things he doesn’t mean. Just like you do.”

“I mean everything I say, Ronald.” Gideon’s getting tired of Ron butting into his life. He should be on his side anyway. Not bloody Harry Potter. 

“Merlin, you two are meant for each other,” Ron says. 

Gideon chooses to ignore this and continues pouring over the new playbook he’s just  received.

friendly and friendlier (WIP,M): A series of one shots across different universes wherein Harry and Ginny are friends with benefits and usually end up being more because I can’t bare to give them an unhappy ending. I’m partial to the first chapter that I wrote for this although the most recent chapter seems to be very popular.

you are beautiful (G) - a three shot of Hallie learning to love her hair as a mixed race girl in the UK. I headcannon that no matter the race of an AU Hallie Potter, Angelina Johnson plays a really big role. I’m trying to really push the power of female friendship in my writing in these AUs because they are important to me. I saw a post a few weeks back about how women and their friendships are essentially nonexistent in HP and it made me sad because its true.

in all chaos there is calculation (WIP, M) - i really like this concept. I know a lot of people like Slytherin Harry. I personally love genderbent Harry Potter so I of courses decided to take all of that on in a long form fic. I’m admittedly, being very hard on myself with this one and I’m trying not to be. Female friendship will once again reign supreme in this AU.

Here’s a sneak peek for waaaay down the line because if we’re being honest I do not have 3rd-5th year completely figured out yet. 

“Andromeda is my favorite cousin, you know. She was a Slytherin too.” Sirius pauses for a moment. “She got burned off for marrying Ted Tonks - he was a Hufflepuff, I believe.” When Hallie doesn’t say anything, he turns to her and says, “in your letter last year, you asked if I was disappointed that you were a Slytherin. I’m not. I was surprised of course, but then I thought about Andromeda and Cissy - to some extent. You remind me of the best of them. You’re a smart resourceful young woman and I will always be proud of you.” When Hallie finally looks at him, her jaw is set and her eyes are hard. She looks so much like Lily that it takes him by surprise, like a punch to the gut.

“Do you really mean that?”

“More than anything.”

and finally, the first fic i ever wrote and posted after 15+ years of reading HP fanfiction off an on.

B:  What was the first fandom you read fic in?  Which was the first you wrote fic for?

Harry Potter for both I believe. I think I randomly found hpnetwork.co.uk or something like that while waiting for book 5 and I was hooked but it took forever (clearly) for me to decide to write something

G: If you wrote a sequel to [in all chaos there is calculation], what would it be about?

I actually have a fairly good amount of stuff written for a "sequel". It would focus on the aftermath of the war, the shift in relationships. Rebuilding and leaving burned bridges, etc.

P:  Where did you find the most inspiration for your story < Happy & Sad>?

the prompt had been sitting in my inbox forever - and for that i'm sorry - and I was crying a lot that day so I decided to make Henry cry too and I think I was also listening to Kacey at the time too and thus Happy & Sad was born out of my own mental breakdown.

M: What’s the weirdest AU scenario you’ve ever come up with?  Did it turn into a story?

I think it's only weird because it's not common in the fandom but my Gender AU for RWRB. It's more of a plotbunny than anything right now. But I guess my HTGAWM AU is also weird because I haven't finished it because it's so confusing to me and she may never see the light of day even though I tried very hard to make it a thing.
