the inability to be satisfied with the present you're unhappy with the life you're living right now, so you're always looking ahead or behind of you. the past seems so much sweeter after years of nostalgia has eroded your brain. you long for it back, even if it was full of awful experiences, because you feel like anything is better than this. and to you, the future is something you hold onto with great desperation. it's what drives you to get up and get through the day. but you've done this for so long, and now you've settled into a pattern. you wake up and already wish for another day. then, when the day is over, you wish for it back. there's nothing inherently wrong with looking towards the future or reflecting on the past. however, it's now preventing you from even seeing the point in existing today. let yourself live and experience things firsthand. let go of those memories and desires, even if it's just for a small minute or two. with time, you might start to see the beauty in the present. don't you want to live in the moment for a change? wouldn't it be nice to feel like you have enough where you are, right now

antigone dear antigone, defiant antigone, saint of blind loyalty and digger of graves. you wept for your father as you wept for your brothers—with tears obscuring your eyes of their faults. on your own two feet shall you walk to hades's domain because yes, the devotion to the ones you love is simply that strong. none but the law of gods shall hold you back from what you think of as divine.

orestes you are your father's son and your mother's equal. morality and justice guide your hands through every act, no matter how vile, so that society may be preserved—even if you must sacrifice yourself. what is your flesh flayed by the kindly ones over your father being avenged? matricide, when sparing your mother would lose her respect for you? there is peace at the end, orestes, but the journey to it is dark and terrible.

made yourself immortal, but at what cost? the years pass. people come. people go. you've had people ask you from time to time if you regret it, if you regret making yourself able to reject death at every turn. you just blink, and ask them why they want to know. it always makes them turn away the conversation. that isn't to say you regret it. but sometimes, it's lonely. sometimes, knowing that you'll outlive the entire world, it's a weight on your shoulders. not to mention what you had to do in order to become this way. but you don't talk about that. all that people need to know is that at the end of the day, everything must end. you just made sure you'll see that everything does before you.
