I have to hear about "headed straight for the castle (ottoman succession race)"

that is an AU Thor & Loki thing where they battle for the throne under rules broadly based on a period of the ottoman empire where the succession involved all the reigning sultan's sons all being given provinces of the empire to govern and then when he dies they all race to constantinople, murdering rivals brothers along the way, and the winner is whoever gets there first and convinces the imperial court to listen to them. and then the remaining brothers get murdered. because i felt like upping the fratricide levels between those two.

they have different mothers in it, who are also ruthlessly ambitious because i love a good "ruling via your son" queen mother story.

what i have of it so far is a bit too full of exposition and i am trying not to get orientalist in it (especially since there is so much of that in how this fandom writes jotuns). i posted a snippet from it a while back, which is here, if anyone is into that sort of thing.

Here's some long overdue BP and HH asks :) I tend to combine the two since there's not as many as the RADs, so this starts with BP and then moves into HH/Gen qs.

A very quick overview of these types!

Vescordem: Maneaters/cannibals, excessively tall and strong.

Aleores: Minor dealmakers (goods and services). Jaw can unhinge and has venomous bite.

Sollicio: Major dealmakers - soul stealing ability. Often very good looking, has ichor powers.

Voxter: Ability to project 'thoughts' into someone else's mind - you ever have an intrusive thought? Same concept. All have a unique mark across the top part of their face.

Caumacies: Maneaters/cannibals, very strong. Has a third eye which sees only in heat vision - rarely opened simultaneously with normal eyes.

You know, i actually have an idea for a game that has nothing to do with anything I'm currently doing XD One day i'll actually have time to make it, maybe. But anyway currently my actual project is i'm planning on making a comic \o/

I AM PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE that i have thumbnailed like 70 pages of this bloody thing and i'm still only in the first quarter of the planned chapters lol OTL Once i finish thumbing the chapter I'm on I plan to go back and render the pages properly before starting to post them :D

You know, the concept of my characs being comfort characs for someone will never get old for me. It just tickles me pink ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ This answer will have two levels to it.

It's fine to RP or ask blog with Rire - he's one of my more "known" characs thanks to BTD so as long as credit is given (and it's made clear I'm not running the blog so it's not canon) then it's cool.

I'd prefer if no ask/RP blogs are created for any of my other BP or HH characs, as they are not as known yet. This may be revisited once i actually get the BP comic out but for now it's a no, sorry! (Though, if you are RPing in like...a private Discord with other friends who know who the characs are then I'm a bit more lenient with that.)

The reason for the BP/HH level is that ages ago when I had started establishing my own characs more, I randomly happened to find a forum where someone was RPing as Izm and .D but no one else knew who the characs were and so they clearly thought the RPer was the original artist and creator. Said RPer was not dissuading anyone of that notion. That has stuck with me for forever because at the time i never anticipated that someone would...actually try and do that with an OC. Like, bro srsly?!

HH is one of the better boarding schools which generally turn out successful alumni. The "obvious problems" we see are not actually obvious lol.

.D is asexual, Izm is bisexual, and everyone else is straight probably. Caleb and Desmond are violently straight (as in Des is like very 90s stoner bro adamantly vocal about being straight and Caleb will actually try and break your neck for insinuating anything).

I have some female characs but I dont draw them that often as they are more side characs in BP and HH. The ones ive's drawn at least once are Isla (who looks like this, also doodled above), Tish (Des's sister) and Kenzie and Kelly (Zeke's sisters).

Every once in a blue moon i get an ask saying this but whenever i go to check nothing is wrong, so...nothing is wrong they do work |D; As the age old tech saying goes have you tried turning it off and on again? :d

I get that everyone is very excited about unbelievably-hot-sexy-tattooed-necklace-floppy-hair-boy, but can I make a humble request?

I'm trying really hard to say this nicely but I've had a hellish week so it's probably going to come out a little harsher than intended.

Once you start playing, and you inevitably realise you're not having a good time, and you decide you don't want to play any more, please don't ruin it for those of us who keep going.

Last season, I wasn't the only one who felt like people were getting really rude and/or judgey over those of us who were still playing. Yeah, it's not perfect. Oftentimes it's downright bad. But we're still playing it, and we're trying to have a good time.

I don't want to be reminded that my LI says the same things as the others. I know. I don't need to be reminded that their proportions are off or that their face is weird or whatever. We know. But we're trying to enjoy the game as best we can. There's just no need for me to post something raving about my LI and have the comments, the asks, whatever saying 'you know his route is exactly the same as [other person] though right?'. It just makes me not want to bother posting to tumblr at all. It's funny if you're laughing and commiserating with your friends if we're all playing together, but when you're not playing, and I am, it actually comes across as really patronising. It makes me feel like you're looking down on me for enjoying a game that you deemed not up to your standards.

I'm not saying I've never complained about the game, that would be insane. I've got a whole blog where I talk about it all the bloody time. But I'm also playing and I'm making jokes and memes with other people who are also playing. We're commiserating together.

In what rabbit hole did I fall into, that everything is upside down now?

Helmut Marko defending Checo AGAIN! I mean... what? Twice already? And now Horner being the one speaking shit every day about Checo's performance, demanding results and saying that maybe his seat will be available for Yuki or Daniel?

I think Marko is playing a game where he does the opposite of Horner, and since now Horner seems to be enemy #1 to Checo, Marko is all... meh (can't say supportive or caring, because let's not exaggerate, but at least he's not attacking Checo and he's saying he'll bounce back from this losing streak).

So I see different outcomes from this (explained, just for fun, with memes) (and also, these are my deluded theories, not to be taken TOO seriously):

Outcome 1: Checo's car will miraculously work again and Checo will at least be in the top 5 the next race, and perhaps p3 or p2 the other one before summer break. This will be accompanied by the generic RBR speech of 'we knew he would do it' and 'we support him' while they kept playing mind games with Checo, his fans and his haters.

Outcome 2: Red Bull fires Checo with their bullshit clause or whatever, and decide to bring Sainz to the team; or Horner finally wins and let Ricciardo take that seat, or Yuki, or Liam, or Bird, or on a very incredibly plot twist, Horner himself takes the damn seat. This leaves with Checo looking for other teams and little window of opportunity to actually get any real options (now, let's remember that Ford's CEO loves Checo and wants him badly, so this outcome will be bloody).

Outcome 3: Checo actually ends his contract, tired of all this bullshit, and says:

Then, in another incredible plot twist, Toto Wolff actually hires Checo to spite Horner, because he keeps throwing to his face that the car is fucked, so he will get his revenge getting Checo to be Russell's minister of defense (maybe hubby Hamilton will also give the boss a good reference for Checo). And let's remember that Toto and Horner have this weird sexual tension, so when he gets Checo for 2025 (only that year, he will get Antonelli with more experience for 2026) he will be like this:

And if Toto doesn't fit into my theory because he's too stubborn, then maybe Audi will give Checo a seat, until Ford decides to buy his own team and hire Checo.

Outcome 4: Aaaaaan my last one... in a crafty game of chairs, Charles says 'screw this' and leaves Ferrari, goes to Red Bull with frenemy Max, and Checo goes to Ferrari to be hubby's teammate, Carlos goes to Mercedes, Daniel gets crushed by Yuki, Logan finally wins a Grand Prix (eagle sounds in the background), Pierre and Esteban get married and Valteri Bottas releases a new, nude, spicy calendar for 2025.

I have synesthesia and I feel sounds as temperatures, and this song feels like being shoved into a walk in freezer. The god damn bass drop is so bloody cold I legitimately start shivering. This song GENUINELY messes with my brain chemistry it is so good. I do feel temperatures from other songs but this is by far the most extreme. Song is so good I can literally feel it in my bones.

i forgot it was april fools lol. i definitly did not end up sprinkling in a bunch of memes in there, nope, not at all.

I havent checked my dashboard until a few minutes earlier, but now im booping everyone i find in there, its just so damm fun! its kinda sad that its just for april fools, i wish the booping stayed forever like its way too silly i love it.

Oh yeah the drawing yep aight. So uh, i had the idea yesterday and this looks NOTHING like what i had planned, it was just going to be a plain white backgroung, and i was trying to make it look like a pencil sketch (kinda). and simple coloring. but i had a lot of problems and drawing this ended up being really frustrating but im kinda happy with the result even if it difers so much from the og idea.

i tend to change my idea as im drawing so after i realized this was not going to look like i thought, i tried some effects and i came up with the idea of making it look...off.

Backgrounf with saturated colors consisting of red and blue and a fecto elfilis who looks rather dreamy, wich is totally not kinda inspired by isolated isles and high school musical 2 believe it or not (im confused as to how that was present in my mind as inspiration but i guess anything works as a reference) and contrasting with the darker background from how light and glowy i made him.

Fun fact: when i drew elfilis here, they were reminding me of a bunny, so you could kinda count this as a bit of an easter post since im probably going to forget to do something for that.

fun fact 2: this image is based on a fanfic im writing right now, i havent posted it yet, and when i do im pretty sure i'll put it into the Anonymous collection, since what im writing is very different from my usual, i tend to write about my splatoon ocs or sometimes about kirby characters, most of these fics tend to be general with not a lot of archieve warnings and stuff (save for one but that one was very very tame and just had an implication of a character dying at the end) and they're oneshots, most of them, this one is also a oneshot. i just enjoy writing that, but its a little bit....how to say it? bloody, i just have like the start made and its probably going to take me a while to finish, im also thinking of reading it multiple times since most of my works are usually just the first draft. but uh since its quite different and has that im quite scared of the reception it might have when i post it, in fact a lot of times i dont post stuff since even tho i know i shouldnt worry about others, i still do like an idiot, i just cant help caring about what other people think of me. and yeah basically its just not like the usual fluff i write.

Caden’s eyes drift half-open drowsily and he stares up at the ceiling of the guest room of Elerrathin’s Home. At first he’s not sure what woke him - perhaps one of Jaheira’s small horde of adopted children causing chaos downstairs - but then he hears it. A muted, rhythmic, slightly atonal whistling coming from the roof.

“D’you hear that?” he mumbles. Aerie, still sleeping peacefully at his side, doesn’t answer. After a moment’s hesitation, he gives in to his curiosity and slides carefully out from under the blanket so as not to wake his wife.

It’s a little hard to find the route upwards, presumably so the children don’t make use of it - a ladder carefully inset into the climbing vines along the upper floor’s rear balcony. (Plants among more plants - the balcony is strewn with pots of flowering buds, jars of dirt waiting for use, long planters with the stems of autumn vegetables just starting to poke into view. Like so much of Jaheira's house, it is a sanctuary of green amidst the dusty brown of the city streets.) Caden carefully avoids damaging any of the vines as he clambers up the ladder; his shoulder twinges with the unexpected exertion and he grunts. Gods, getting old, aren't you, boy?

Emerging onto the gentle slope of the roof, he blinks, for a moment dazzled by the brilliant orange of the sunrise against which the endless buildings of the Lower City are silhouetted. The fall air is crisp and cold and raises goosebumps on his skin as he steps out of the cozy warmth of the house below. 

Jaheira sits with her back to him on the edge of the rooftop, looking out to the west away from the sunrise and towards the grey sheet of the harbor not yet touched by the daylight. Her head is ducked slightly, and it takes him a moment to realize that the strange sounds are coming from her - she’s playing, very unsteadily, a simple tune on a small and very battered tin whistle. 

He moves softly, but she hears him anyway, and her head snaps up, turning to glance over her shoulder. She fists one hand tightly around the whistle, dropping it into her lap as if to hide it. “Ah. You’re awake, my friend,” she says.

He smiles. “I didn’t mean to interrupt. I just came up to listen.”

She snorts softly. “We have known each other long enough that there is no need for flattery, Caden.”

“I didn’t say I was listening because it was good.” He sticks his tongue out at her.

This elicits a soft laugh, and her shoulders relax slightly. “No, I should think not. I cannot quite get the touch for it, despite my efforts.” She lifts the whistle again and turns it slowly in her fingertips, watching as it catches a muted reflection of the slow-rising sunlight. “I do believe it is mocking me.”

He grins, moving to sit beside her so his legs dangle off the roof edge. “I’m sure someone in the city could teach you.”

“For coin and time - neither of which I have to spend on such frivolity,” she says wryly.

He raises an eyebrow. “Ah, right, you’re the High Harper now. No more fun and games, hm?”

“Just so.”

“There are those who would say we, of all people in the world, have earned a little frivolity,” he points out.

There’s a dash of humor in his voice, though, because he already knows the answer she will give him even before she speaks the words. So he’s not surprised when she shakes her head. “There is always yet more work to be done,” she murmurs. “For the city. For my children. Perhaps for the world, if it should have need of me again.”

Caden juts his lower lip out stubbornly. “If the world should have need of me again, someone can bloody well tell it that I'm not available for hire. And nor is Aerie. We've given enough.”

“You and Aerie have many happy years yet ahead; I would not take that from you,” Jaheira says quietly. 

A pause, and then she laughs again, but this time it is a somewhat darker sound, sardonic, self-deprecating.“But… ah, well. You see that this is what loneliness will do to a woman.” She gestures vaguely with the whistle. “She takes to brooding on rooftops and plotting self-sacrifice, and tormenting the local cat population with the squeaks of a whistle.”

Caden frowns. “Is that what you are?” he asks. “Lonely?” 

Her head jerks, her gaze flicking away out across the buildings around them. Then she smiles, and suddenly the moment passes, the tension in her face loosening. “We may call that a slip of the tongue,” she says mildly. “What time do I have to be alone, with that crop of rascals running about downstairs? Not to mention the Harpers under my command - who seem younger every year. And you, just now, as my guest.” She shakes her head. “No - I am not alone, and for that I am grateful.”

“Alone and lonely are not the same thing,” he says gently.

Again that flicker of a shadow crosses her face. “Do not press me on this, cub,” she says. “A slip of the tongue, no more.”

“Cub. You’re not really so much older than I am, you know,” he says dryly.

“Nonsense.” Her expression softens as she glances at him affectionately, and then she grins. “You were the first wayward child I ever raised, long before Rion.”

“I was twenty!” He laughs, nudging her gently in the shoulder. “But believe whatever you want.”

She smiles. Whatever dark thoughts led her to the rooftop seem to have passed, or at least burrowed themselves into better hiding; she tucks the whistle casually into a pocket and pushes herself to her feet. “Come. I will leave aside this travesty against melody, and let us go down to breakfast.”

More champion headcannons because I haven’t posted in a while and my Wally draft is gone (thx tumblr)! Yay! These are more on the platonic side.

Most of my champion head cannons don’t really include Steven all that much. He’s too busy with playing with rocks to hang out with the others. Steven’s like that one friend who hangs out with you, but they barely talk at all. I should know, because I am that friend.

Wallace and Lance talk shit about Leon all the time. It’s because of his cape. Leon is too oblivious to know. They don’t talk to Leon unless it’s necessary. They sit on the other end of the table during Champion meetings too. They just sip their tea and judge silently. One time, Cynthia and Diantha came to Wyndon Stadium just to see Wallace and Lance stare at Leon. They 100% saw Lance and Wallace stare at Leon with murderous intent.

Wallace is trans no one can tell me otherwise. Wallace is mid-transition at the time of the games. I think Lance is intersex. There’s no logic to it, it just tickles a part of my brain. I don’t know much about intersex people, so I don’t want to go too in depth about it. Wallace definitely told Lance to get HRT because they both hate periods.

Cynthia is that one meme: “in the winter I like to wear a nice cozy black jacket. In the summer, I wear the same exact thing because I look good in black, and I’m willing to suffer.” And because Lance is everyone’s big brother, he tries to convince Cynthia to wear something white. It doesn’t work out. Diantha told Cynthia that she’d look good in white. Since Cynthia cannot say no to Diantha, Cynthia wore a white blouse with a floral skirt. Diantha went feral that day. Lance almost jumped off a cliff that day.

Wallace invites Diantha and Cynthia to have tea with them. He made mouth-watering sweets, and the two Champions devoured them in two minutes.

Lance is notorious for his hatred of the cold, and for some sick reason, Arceus made his birthday on the coldest day in the whole entire year. He hates it. He is big spoon until it gets colder, then he’s little spoon.

Steven is afraid of Gyarados, which is ironic since his closest friends have a dumb fuck amount of them. Wallace had to wait for two fuckin years to get a Feebass. Lance’s Kingdra keeps adopting magikarps, so Lance has no choice to catch them, so now he has 20% of the Gyarados population.

He also hates serpentine pokemon too. He almost never visits Blackthorn because Dratini and Dragonair are everywhere. The first time he visited, one of Lance’s Dratini somehow slithered into the bed he was sleeping in, so he screamed like a girl bloody murder. Lance came running in, finding Steven curled up in the corner of the room with a Dratini slithering closer and closer. Lance reminds Steven of it all the time.

When Wallace challenged Steven for the Champion title, Steven just gave him the title after Wallace sent out Milotic. Whenever Wallace says he wants to be Champion, he brings Milotic out to scare Steven into giving it to him.

Clair and Lisia like to torment Wallace and Lance for fun. Clair is Lisia’s best friend and partner in crime. Iris sometimes joins in too. Sometimes Iris enlists Zinnia’s help to include Steven in the torment.

Cynthia has a Lapras. I don’t know why I think this way. I just do.

Lance and Cynthia have this conspiracy theory that Will and Lucian are the same person. Turns out their distant relatives.

Sycamore had to grow up with two sisters: Diantha and Cynthia.

I reckon I wouldn't have written down my weirdest ones because I knew I'd never write them 🤣

I do have one in my notes app that makes me chuckle. It's an idea for a crack fic where everyone has their soulmate's greatest passion tattooed somewhere on their body. Harry has a spurting cock on his ribcage because of this.

I would definitely class myself as a voracious fic reader! I am not fussy, like, at all. I'll look at the fic title, the author, the tags, and the summary. If even one of those things appeals to me, I'll read it. I would have missed out on so many gems if I was picky! I know some people who only read based on the recs of others and that just simply could not be me. Half the fun is scrolling through the @drarryspecificrecsdaily feed and seeing what posted the week before. I found most of the non-fest fics I included on my best of 2023 rec post that way! It also gives visibility to newer writers, which I love!

Hmm... to fully encapsulate the Tozette Brand, I think this official sampler would need a soul mate fic, an OC fic, a fic that's entirely dedicated to something bloody grim, a canon divergence fic, and a fic that's kind of absurd.

5. But Not Before They Are Dead. It's my favourite of the soulmate fics at the time of writing, and it is a good example of the type of soulmate-fic I always want to write where the artificial bond between two characters (who might not even like each other) affects their lives outside of the scope of a romance.

4. The One Where An OC Moves In With Kakuzu. I fucking love OC fics. I'm using this one because I think it's an iddy concept that combines the fun of outsider pov with the wild worldbuilding of 'What on Earth is Rain like when there's no war, anyway?' I LOVE OC fics. Grabs them.

3. the ever increasing list of things that are not going to be okay. This one is indeed bloody grim and I had a lot of fun with writing it! It's also a highly specific slightly weird AU: "19th century London serial killer and detective". Highly specific and slightly weird AUs, too, are something I really enjoy writing.

2. Dirt and Ashes, or: The One-and-a-Half Body Problem. I nearly put something else here until I remembered that this is still the fic anyone who follows this blog is most likely to have actually read. This fic is a grim, comedic canon divergence story focused pretty tightly in on an unlikely relationship, which is definitely my type of fic. It has its flaws but I still like it as long as I don't try to read it, haha.

1. This is quite hard because I've written a lot of absurd fics and how can I pick just one incredibly stupid concept? I think I will use In Which Ino and Deidara are Siblings, though, because it asks and answers absurd questions about ninja social work, but it is also a fic that also represents the type of fics I write that are pretty much zero plot and all vibes.

"even if i was still alive! :D" "wow! well, morticia/gomez, you're... intense! i like your... prep! your... uncolourful enthusiasm!" lmfao. he tries to return it by trying to give them weird compliments in turn that fit w them; "don't you look like the most dolled up, prettiest corpse in the mausoleum in all that black make-up!", he sees them blushing or something & he's like "look atcha, blooming up likeeee... a bloodied bouquet of rose!trying to make my heart stop or something? least you'll be sittin real pretty on my grave huh?" he's like that meme that's like "my hot witch girlfriend" & him in a summoning circle like "me doing whatever tf she wants" but he's also a freak just a blonde one. dude is the star-spangled superman & a celeb who should be dating models and yet he's like hiding a heart shaped necklace under his suit that's like a preserved vial of their blood lol. i feel it'd stroke his ego in a different way where they also love how weird & freaky he is, yet in contrast they're not violent or harmful w their love for gore or whatever themselves, for them it just bubbles up into a deeper way to express love & their own self expression. i also wanna recommend "the horror of our love" by ludo if u dunno it, feels sort of fitting for how you write him! first of all. calling him homer made me scream. 😂 second, thank you! this is so many words and they are all very kind and fun. I think currently the fic I've written that's closest to this premise is Don't Fret, Precious (I'm Here) which features a reader that's ultimately pretty into his whole deal, and fairly deranged herself.

I definitely want to write more macabre readers though, and I love this gomez/morticia angle you're talking about. I've had a WIP in the wings for ages where the reader herself is a serial killer that Homelander catches, but ultimately decides to cover for because he's intrigued by her bloodlust. it's very much a yandere x yandere. it doesn't fit into the idea that the reader is harmless, but... fiction is fiction, right? no one's really hurt! lmao

also, Ludo is one of my favorite bands!!! I actually almost named this fic "The Horror Of Our Love" but ultimately decided "The Horror Was For Love" suited it a little bit better.

as you've accurately deduced I definitely love mixing elements of romance and horror. you have very much inspired me to step up my game and return to that serial killer fic, and maybe something new featuring more of an oddball reader that really throws Homelander off his game.
