CLOSED STARTER for @ashaisabelle where: outside the noodle garden during the block & bash music fest
Aiden asks to meet her outside the Noodle Garden. He’s standing in line, waiting his turn like a good patron of that establishment, strumming at the stringy fabric of a tear in his jeans right beneath his left pocket. He's patient as can be considering the crowds, knowing the people there are probably seeking a break from the festival ground environment and looking for a place to sit down or get take-out that isn't dripping in grease.
Tumblr media
Once it gets to his turn, Aiden makes the easy order of two boxes of lo-mein - one beef, one chicken - pays for his meal, and escapes the crowd of the restaurant to find a place to sit on the curb on the side of the building. He shoots her a quick text -
'im by the side exit'
- before popping open the one container of beef lo-mein and cracking a pair of chopsticks apart to begin digging in while he waits.
'hurry up before your food gets cold'

CLOSED STARTER for @tcriacosta where: coral coast / block & bash music festival
Aiden didn't want to come to the music festival.
He said so, several times, and was summarily ignored. And okay, he might need to stand his ground a little more, but Fiona has particularly convincing. The music is fine, the food typical of any music event, and the drinks - overpriced. Then there are the folks who are all dressed up in festival wear, with their scary-white teeth and their perfect hair and all-too complicated outfits covered in glitter like it's war paint.
And now Fiona is somewhere else doing whatever it is that Fiona Osmans go and do at music festivals, and Aiden is wandering solo.
'are you at this thing?'
Is the text Aiden sends out to Vitoria, with that green bubble and no 'delivered' notification under it. He'd give anything for his one scape goat to be found wandering festival grounds. Perhaps at the merch booths, or the snack stands. He considers a churro, and before he realizes it Aiden is following that cinnamon sugar scent. His only distraction is found en route in the form of Vitoria, and she is the only thing to distract him from obtaining any churros.
"Fuck, I found you. And I didn't even know if you were here, but I did! And-" he looks around to the crowd filtering in and out of certain areas, places he hasn't gone and wandered into yet. "Are you waiting for the next band, or... is there a chance you'd want to rush down to the beach to smoke with me? I also have two shooters left - I saved one specifically for you."

CLOSED STARTER for @phoebebaker where: coral coast / block & bash music festival
It's after dark, the headliner will take the stage in the next hour, and Aiden finds himself in the precarious position of needing to find hand sanitizer. He's halfway to wasted, thoughts fogged in the best sort of way, and sense of direction near nonexistent as he wanders out from the port-a-potty area, t-rex arms and all, with a complete pout on his face.
"Phoebe. Phoebe-" it's nothing short of a scurry he does to close the distance between them. "It's muddy in there, which doesn't make sense because the sinks don't work anyway. So where is the water coming from? Unless people are pissing on the ground which is…" Aiden frowns and squints, then pauses to make sure that in the dim fairy lights of this obscure restroom location that he in fact ran up to the correct person. One slow blink and a nod of confirmation to himself later, he determines he is not throwing a barrage of complaints at a total stranger. "But see, they had no soap, and no water, and - I had to pee which I cannot do hands-free, and-" his shoulders slump in defeat.

CLOSED STARTER for @valeriegoldstein where: coral coast / block & bash music festival
The music festival scene isn't really Aiden's vibe, and it took a good twist of his arm to get him there. He would say so at least, if not for the fact Aiden is sometimes easily convinced with a simple invitation from the right person.
However, it is easy to get split up. Something he should have considered once it became known that cell service is pretty shoddy - it makes sense when the mass crowd is taken into account, and all his text bubbles have turned green (what is this, a fucking Android?), and he not buzzed enough to tolerate this alone. So, Aiden precariously balances his cokctail and pushes through the crowd as the recent set concludes, people flooding out to another stage or the food booths or wherever their next destination is in mind, trying to find a spot where he isn't bumping shoulders with others.
It is then as he peers under the dining tent where picnic tables are scattered, filled with other festival patrons or trash some people couldn't be bothered to throw away properly, Aiden recognizes Valerie. Or so he hopes because he sneaks up from behind, plucking an ice cube from his half-consumed drink so that when he is close enough, he can press it to the nape of her neck.

"What - too busy having fun to answer any of my texts?" Aiden prods, dropping the offending ice cube and leaning forward enough to be eye level with her. "Or is the service so shit you haven't gotten any of them? I might accept that excuse - I'm feeling pretty generous today."
