"썸녀 ("sseom nyeo")," which seems to have been translated to "a thing" in the English subtitle, is a compound word made of two words, one English and one Korean; "썸" is the transliteration of "some" from "something," and "녀" means "girl/woman" when added at the end of another word. "썸녀" is a girl you are romantically interested in and possibly have "something" going on with. As this is kind of a slang, it's funny to see Han Ki Hwan say it out loud like that. I'm not sure if he actually knows what the term exactly means, even though it might not be too hard to guess the meaning if he didn't. And if the person is a boy, not a girl, you can use "썸남 (sseom nam)" instead.
So I moved to a new house in a neighborhood I love and it's wonderful, but the actual moving day was so stressful
7 hours of me having to handle all the aspects of move in day, which meant talking to the movers, the realtor, my old landlords, the flooring guy, and a taxi driver...all in Korean, of course. My realtor was like why isn't a friend helping you? Don't you have a 썸남? ㅋㅋ And then she got the flooring guy to take out the old flooring on the veranda because "he's already here, just have him take it out and throw it away for you"
The flooring guy was actually around my age and asked how I'm so good at Korean and if I grew up here (lol no) He said he had no idea I was foreign until I showed up because I sounded so natural on the phone! My new 장판 looks great, so I recommend him if anyone around Seoul needs an interior person~
I'm hoping to stay in this house a long time, so ideally I won't be having to deal with anymore moving logistics for a few years!
Series based on a webtoon about two 25-year-old neighbors: game production major Park Kyutae (Room 301) and animation major Sung Gijae (Room 302).

If you liked The Lover you’ll be probably be into this, it’s the same type of comedy and “misunderstandings”. But don’t expect The Lover’s ending, this is strictly bromance.
