The look on Galadriel’s face when Adar says, “Halbrand is Sauron. Isn’t he?” He’s so damn perceptive. He knows she is still attached to the person she knew as Halbrand. He hits that nerve square and purposefully. And for Galadriel’s part, she cannot face him. She cannot face the truth of his words. She still sees him in her mind’s eye: Halbrand the brave, passionate, teasing, vulnerable, fiery man with whom she bared souls with. She still struggles to reconcile those two creatures (her treasured friend vs the ruthless, evil entity) as one being. Morfydd does an incredible job of showing Galadriel’s raw heartbreak and feeling torn apart emotionally.
