The End - Chapter 2

Loki hadn’t been permitted to show his face at Frigga’s funeral, but he’d had a good enough second-hand description to imagine it as if he had. Golden towers, draped with black cloth. His mothers boat, adorned with flowers, her sword placed in her hands and a golden veil over her face. A flaming arrow shot by their finest archers - and even that too was gold. Frigga would sail to the ends of their horizon; dissolving into flame and sparks, her spirit scattered amongst the stars, marking her journey to Valhalla. Where the brave shall live forever.
He knew the feelings well enough; even if the visual had not been his. He knew that aching feeling inside - like a creature, tiny and desperate, trapped beneath his ribcage and clawing to escape. Loss was something he was well acquainted with by now; and the splendour that Asgard attached to it seemed almost intrinsic to the process. Asgard’s warriors died the deaths of heroes; it was only right that their passages would be heralded by something as glorious as they had in life.
Cramped in the Quinjet bathroom, with barely enough room to get on his knees, Loki muttered out the parting prayer - quiet enough so that Banner couldn’t hear from the other side of the door. A piece of his armour caught against the sink, and all of a sudden he was struck by how wrong this felt.
Sadness, he expected. Fury, and rage; those were emotions he knew came with death. But this sense of wrongness, of shame - it was new. It was new, and uncomfortable, and he wanted it to stop.
There was no body to bury. Nothing to cast to the stars, no boat to lay his brother to rest in, no hammer to place gently against his chest. This was the best he could do, and it burned his face with shame. Loki didn’t know the fate of the others. They may have survived, but they also may have died. And that would make Thor the last one. Possibly the last true Asgardian, and this was how his parting from this world would be marked. No fanfare, no lanterns, no stars.
An airplane bathroom, smaller than a closet, and a few words whispered from cracked and bleeding lips. The harsh smell of cleaning agents, and the harsher glare of the flickering light above him. A body, his brother, left in the cold grip of space - maybe forever. The best he could hope for was that a passing garbage collector would take pity on the condemned, and at least allow them the decency of a disposal.
This was what Loki of Asgard had to offer the God of Thunder, and it sickened him to think of it.
Loki swallowed, pressed his forehead against the plastic walls, and muttered the last of the prayers.
“Thor, I bid you take your place in the halls of Valhalla, where the brave shall live forever. Nor shall we mourn but rejoice, for those that have died the glorious death.”
Glorious death.
He sniffed, slumping from his knees further to the floor, and shutting his eyes against the world.
There was nothing glorious about this.
His throat hurt, and he allowed himself a few tears as the neon light flickered above him. The prayer was the only tribute he had to give. Well, that and revenge, of course.
Revenge was a talent Loki had yet to perfect. His schemes had a nasty habit of going awry at the last second - but, he supposed, the one person who was always there to thwart said schemes wasn’t here anymore. Now, there was a stretch of open road between him and his dagger piercing Thanos’s heart. Wherever that monster landed, whatever cursed ground marked the final battle, he knew he would be there. His soul wouldn’t let him rest if he wasn’t.
That would be the final gesture he could make for his brother, then. Thanos would die at his hand, he would pay for all he had taken from them. The gentle ending that they were robbed of; where they sailed to earth through the stars, as their ancestors once had. Where they landed, safe and sound, and rebuilt their departed homeworld. If the Mad Titan was so fond of balance, then he could experience it for himself. The scales would tip even with his death; and then, perhaps Loki could rest. Leave for somewhere new, and condemn this blood soaked tapestry to the dirt.
The tale of the house of Odin; beginning in blood, and ending as it began. Crimson, it seemed, was destined to stain the pages of their storybook. And Loki had seen more than enough of it for one lifetime.
“Hey, Loki?”
Banner knocked on the door, gentle enough that Loki almost didn’t hear it over the sound of the engines.
“Are you alright in there? It’s just, uh, it’s been a while. I don’t know if you’re sick, or...yeah.”
Loki cleared his throat, moving to his feet. A quick glance in the mirror, an adjustment of illusions, and he was himself again. There was a certain image he wanted to uphold with the Avengers; even if Banner had certainly seen worse of him (tied to a chair in Valkyrie’s apartment and having a bottle lobbed at his head, for one). They still thought of him as a threat - and there was comfort in that perception. An evil being, a god mad with power - they wouldn’t feel sorrow. Evil wouldn’t cry for its kin. Evil was unstoppable, unstable; an ever shifting force. He didn’t want to disabuse any of them of that notion quite just yet.
“I’m fine. Just washing my hands.” He opened the door, coming face to face with the worrisome scientist standing in front of him.
“I would think that with all the riches in his possession, Stark would grace you with more than one bathroom.” Loki moved past Banner, stalking back to his seat with as much dignity as one could muster when exiting from an airplane bathroom.
“Yeah. It does make missions kinda awkward, sometimes.” Banner rubbed the back of his head, hovering by the door for a moment before shuffling back to the bench where he was sat.
“Six super-people and only one bathroom. It can get intense.”
“I can only imagine.” Loki grimaced as he sat down, folding his hands in his lap.
There was a silence, then. But one with a touch of anticipation. Banner kept looking at him, and after a few minutes it began to grate on his nerves. It was the face of a scientist, after all. The one brimming with questions but holding back purely on social decorum. Banner tapped his feet, bounced his leg, cast him a sideways look. Loki stared ahead impassively, keeping his eyes trained on the window in front of him. He could guess what question it was that Banner wanted answering; and, frankly, it wasn’t something Loki wanted to discuss right now.
Banner wanted to know why Loki had chosen to help them. Why his loyalties had so quickly changed. And of course it was a complex answer; one wrought with chaos and really it would require a play with at least twelve acts to get through, and -
“Why’d you say that earlier?”
The scientist spoke softly, and Loki turned to him, arching an eyebrow in confusion.
“About Thor being dead.”
Loki groaned, leaning until the back of his head touched the cold metal wall behind him.
“Why do you care?”
He wanted to muster some venom into his voice; to spit out the words with vitriol and hatred. But he was so tired, and it came out with more numbness than he intended.
Banner looked at him a little more intensely then, and he could’ve sworn a hint of green crept into the scientist’s eyes.
“Why do I care?” He shook his head, frowning deeply. “You keep telling me about how your brother - one of my closest friends - is dead, and then wonder why that might possibly piss me off?”
Loki scoffed, and Banner folded his arms, shifting his gaze into a dark corner of the quinjet.
“I care because you’re not even giving him a chance. It’s like you have no faith in him - when he’s had nothing but faith in you. You’ve died a lot, and he’s always expected you to come back sooner or later.”
“This is different.”
“How? How is it different? If you’ve come back enough times, then he can too. I know you don’t think he’s smart enough for that but he is. He’s smart, and strong, and kind, and I just-” Banner cut himself off as his face illuminated with green, and his voice shot a few octaves deeper than normal.
Loki scooted back, watching the scientist's face with a degree of caution. He didn’t expect the beast to appear - when one of the sorcerers had hurried Banner back into the building, looking thoroughly un-green, he assumed something had happened. Which was understandable, he supposed. Travelling through the bifrost was bad enough for the inexperienced - let alone the unfortunate circumstances surrounding their travel.
He and Hulk had an uneasy truce on the Statesman. They stayed out of eachothers way, mostly. Hulk was wary of him; and vice versa - even if Thor had tried his best to ease tensions between them with group meetings and ‘dinner nights’. But that wasn’t enough to make him jump for joy at the prospect of seeing Hulk again; especially on a cramped jet, and without his usual strength to defend himself.
Although, it might be nice to see the beast again. It would be a familiar face at the very least; and while he wasn’t concerned about the giant’s safety, he couldn’t deny that his strength had brought a certain comfort with it. When you had the hulk by your side, you felt unstoppable. And it would be rather nice to have that confidence for the battle ahead.
When the scientist seemed to catch himself, Loki was almost disappointed. Banner breathed heavily, the green veins on his face dying down and retreating below the surface.
“He can’t be dead, Loki. He just...He can’t be.”
Loki paused, leaning forward a little. Studying the man in front of him; the twitches, the clasped hands wringing together, the never ending tapping of the foot. The strained expression; the eyes that held hope, but something else underneath that. Something desperate.
Banner didn’t just want Thor back. He needed him.
And all at once, those accidental touches on the Statesman made sense. Every guiding hand on the small of Banner’s back, every meal that the two had shared together, each word of comfort and gentle smile; it wasn’t just comradery.
Loki’s eyes widened, and he laughed; a hollow, bitter sound.
“You liked him.”
“What?” Banner looked away from him then, a muscle twitching in his cheek. “Of course I like him. I’ve known the guy for 6 years.”
“No, this is much more than a - Oh, what did he call it - a friend from work. You fancied him.”
He caught the sight of Bruce’s fists clenching at his sides, and for some reason that sparked something inside of him. A memory from long ago; of being trapped in that glass prison, with a sudden desire to set the beast loose.
“Well, maybe your paramour being dead will be enough to draw the beast back from the shadows. Does it make you angry, Bruce? Does the thought of someone you love dying for nothing fill you with rage?”
“Stop.” Bruce dropped to a whisper, screwing his eyes shut as if that could drown out the sound.
Some part of him told him to take pity on the man. A word of wisdom from his mother; that grief shared was grief halved. And maybe this wasn’t very nice of him, and maybe it wasn’t at all in line with honouring his brother’s memory, but at this moment he couldn’t find it within him to care. He wanted glory again - wanted the feeling of control that he’d had back on the helicarrier.
“I wonder if you ever confessed it to one another - or did he die without ever knowing it? You know, I always assumed that when his heart stopped he thought of Asgard, but maybe he thought of you. Maybe the last thing he ever felt was heartbreak, because he never knew if you loved him back-”
“Stop it!” Bruce’s voice deepened as he leapt to his feet, the veins along his neck deepening to a dark green; but it went further than that. Green blotches spread across his arms, and there was a momentary wildness in his eyes that Loki recognised.
The beast was here. Loki bared his teeth in a fierce grin, hands waiting for his daggers and his body itching for a fight.
But none came.
Banner’s fists stayed clenched, he shook with anger, but that was apparently all the good doctor could muster. The remnants in his eyes died out, like the last few sparks of a campfire, and he remained firmly Bruce Banner-sized. Loki sank back into his chair after the moment of apprehension, sighing.
“I was hoping that would work.” He shook his head dejectedly, a scowl creeping into his face and voice. “I get the sense that we might need him, eventually.”
“Jesus, Loki. So, what - your plan was to get me mad enough for a hulkout? And you thought now was the perfect moment? Here?” Banner gestured around their surroundings - to the low ceiling of the quin jet, the fragile equipment piloting their journey.
Loki’s head thunked against the wall as he melted back into the seat, shrugging listlessly. “I suppose I didn’t think that one through very well.”
“No, you didn’t.” Banner paced about the ship, wringing his hands together before he turned back to Loki, a hint of that previous anger emanating into his tone.
“Look, I know you miss him. And just because I don’t think he’s dead doesn’t mean I’m not worried about him - I don’t think I’ll ever stop worrying about him,” He paused, looking up to the ceiling - his face contorting as if he was having to force these words out.
“But don’t you dare take this out on me. Mourn, if you want. Get angry, get sad - but don’t you take this out on me just because I still have hope.”
“Hope.” Loki chuckled mirthlessly. “Hope is a fool's gamble, Banner.”
“Maybe.” Bruce swallowed, his features smoothing out as his eyes turned to the viewing window beside them. “But it’s a gamble I’m willing to take.”

Trust, Chapter 18

Loki had to conjure up earplugs during the night when Darcy started snoring. It had been that or shove her out of the bed, luckily for Darcy he had gone for the former.
He was awake before her and took a moment as he looked at her. She was a peculiar mortal. Unlike the others she wasn’t vain and always worried about her looks, even around the likes of him. Being a God and all. What you saw was pretty much what you got with Darcy. And he liked that about her, there was no bullshit.
What he didn’t like, however, was the fact she was drooling on one of his pillows. He groaned and rolled his eyes as he slipped out of bed to go for a bath.
When he emerged, dressed and ready for the day, Darcy was awake. Her hair dishevelled and her eyes slightly puffy. It took her a little while to wake up though, unlike Loki who looked bright eyed and ready pretty much the second he opened his eyes.
Darcy stretched with a groan as her muscles started to wake up.
‘You were snoring again.’ Loki said as he folded his arms over his chest. ‘And drooling on my pillow.’
‘Geez, good morning to you too. It’s just moan, moan, moan with you. I’m sure you can just poof it clean.’ Darcy shrugged and got out of bed. ‘Besides, I’m sure you’ve had far worse bodily fluids on your bed.’ She patted his chest as she walked past him to the bathroom.
Loki rolled his eyes but did smirk a little.
Loki and Darcy joined Thor and Jane for breakfast in a fancy golden room, Thor called it the mini hall, even though in Darcy’s eyes it was pretty huge. There was a full buffet for them with various fruits and meats, Darcy thought she had truly died and gone to heaven as she stuffed her face.
Frigga came in not long after they were finished eating.
‘Just coming to see if you ladies are needing dresses for the celebration tonight?’ Frigga asked Darcy and Jane.
‘I still have my dress from last time I was here.’ Jane smiled.
‘I actually took something with me to wear tonight.’ Darcy said, looking at Loki slightly uncertainly.
‘You can’t wear a dress from back home, Darcy.’ Jane said quickly.
‘If you have something you wish to wear, that’s no problem. Some Midgardian flare isn’t a bad thing.’ Frigga said kindly, making Darcy grin.
‘You may regret that, mother. I have not even seen what it is she has taken.’ Loki said, amused.
‘Well, a nice surprise for us all.’ Frigga winked at Darcy, who couldn’t stop grinning.
‘She’s glad to have you home.’ Thor commented to Loki after, when they were showing Darcy and Jane around the gardens.
‘It is nice to see her again.’ Loki said with a nod, looking straight ahead.
‘You should speak to father. I’m sure you can patch things up with him.’ Thor tried.
‘He is not my father. Never was and never will be.’ Loki snapped. ‘If he wants to patch things up then he can come to me. I will not be going to him and grovelling for forgiveness when it’s his fault in the first place.’
Loki swiftly walked away from Thor and caught up with Darcy, who was having a look at a huge plant that was like a Venus fly trap, but deadlier…
‘Do not ever put any part of your body on there. It is not like the ones on Midgard. It will cause your flesh to melt and will rot your bones instantly.’ Loki picked up a small stone and threw it in one of them. It instantly snapped shut and dissolved the rock within a second.
‘That’s SO COOL! Let me try!’ Darcy then proceeded to chuck various objects she could find into them, making Loki chuckle.
‘Think I could get Jane to stick her finger in?’ Darcy said quietly to Loki.
He smirked. ‘Come now, I doubt you truly want her to hurt herself to that extent.’
Darcy shrugged.
‘Besides, she is smarter than Thor.’ Loki said.
‘Has Thor ever touched them?’ Darcy looked up at Loki, eyes wide.
‘Yep. Took years before his finger healed and grew back properly, with many potions and spells from mother. Of course, being a God helped. But he is so gullible.’ Loki laughed at the memory.
After wandering around the city for a few hours, it was time to get ready for the celebrations. Obviously, it didn’t take the Gods long at all. Mere seconds to change into their royal armour.
But Darcy was taking ages in the bathroom, Loki was getting bored waiting. He ended up engrossed in a book when Darcy finally emerged.
He hadn’t been sure exactly what he was expecting. But he was slightly blown away when he turned around to look at Darcy.
She was wearing a low-cut black dress that went down to her mid-thigh on one side and slightly lower on the other, but it had a dark green, light and airy, under skirt that went down to just above her ankles. But the dress really pushed her breasts up and out more, showing her figure better. Her hair was up in a messy bun with some strands down.
‘Well, what do you think?’ She asked as she spun around, her dress flowing out beautifully.
‘I think it’s the first time I’ve seen you in a dress, you pull it off rather well. You should wear them more often.’ Loki smirked and walked towards her.
Darcy put her hand on her hip and glared at him. ‘Don’t get used to it. Oh! Wait!’ She ran to her suitcase and rummaged through it. Loki still couldn’t quite understand why she had packed so much stuff, for just two nights away.
She pulled out a pair of black high heels and slipped them on. Gaining a few inches, but when she squared up to Loki, she pouted as he still towered over her. ‘Damn. I was hoping to get much more height.’
Loki laughed and put his arm out for her. ‘You’re just fine. Now, shall we?’
‘Hell yeah, I’m ready to be a princess for the night!’ Darcy grinned as she took his arm and they made their way to the main hall.
‘Nice touch with my colours, by the way.’ Loki said on the way.
‘Ah you noticed. I thought it would add some extra flare and get the people talking, like we planned.’ Darcy swished her dress about, making Loki laugh again.
As soon as they turned the corner into the hall, there was screeching came from a group of girls who were dressed over the top in green. They rushed towards Loki, but stopped a few feet away when they saw Darcy on his arm.
‘Ladies.’ Loki nodded politely to them as he strolled on by with Darcy.
‘Are they some of the desperate Asgardian commoners?’ Darcy asked, loud enough for them to hear.
Loki was delighted having someone that was up to his par with being mischievous. ‘They are indeed.’ Loki replied in the same tone, hearing some gasps from the girls behind them as they followed the two towards the table where Loki and Darcy both picked up some wine.
‘Well, they better keep their hands off my man or I will smite them with my taser.’
Loki almost choked on his wine as he was mid sip. The girls swiftly dispersed upon hearing the threat. Not knowing what a taser was.
‘Loki, where are your manners.’ Frigga said as she approached the two, having seen Loki spit some wine back into his goblet.
‘Apologies. Darcy is just far too funny.’  
‘Indeed. You have caused quite a stir already. Though I must say, you look absolutely stunning.’ Frigga said as she gently cupped Darcy’s cheek.
‘Thank you. I’ve never been to anything like this before. It’s quite fun being dressed up for a change.’ Darcy couldn’t stop swishing her dress around.
‘Make yourself at home and enjoy. But don’t get up to too much mischief, the both of you.’ Frigga said knowingly as she wandered off.
She went over to her husband and joined him at the head table.
‘What is it with the Prince’s of Asgard courting Mortal women.’ Odin grumbled.
Frigga laughed and put her hand on Odin’s arm. ‘Come now, love. You know Thor loves Jane and vice versa. Loki and Darcy are not together, but they are putting on a show tonight. I think to spare Loki from the swooning commoners. But even if he was courting Darcy, I like her. She’s good for him.’ She said fondly as she watched Loki and Darcy drinking plenty of wine.
It wasn’t long before Loki started pulling pranks, mainly on some of the higher royals from other realms. Things such as adding the odd super-hot pepper to some of the food, causing the unsuspecting royal to need to rush off to the bathroom with a bright red face. Childish things really, but they made Darcy laugh too.
As the celebrations continued into the night, Darcy and Loki proceeded to get more drunk on the Asgardian wine. They were certainly turning some heads as they danced together, Loki actually spinning her around so much she almost fainted from being so dizzy. Everyone thought they were together, and many talked that they had never seen Loki seem so happy and jolly for a change. Instead of just lurking alone in the shadows with a sullen look on his face as he was badgered by commoners.
At the end of the night, Darcy and Loki stumbled back to Loki’s chambers. Darcy was glad to get her heels off, Loki smirked and stood tall on front of her. ‘That’s better, back to your usual height.’ He teased, patting her head.
‘Shurrup.’ Darcy playfully pushed at him.
She was drunk enough that she didn’t care if Loki saw her naked, she just wanted to get into bed. So she just took her dress off at the side of the bed, with Loki watching with an eyebrow raised at her boldness, especially since she wasn’t wearing a bra.
Loki decided to just remove his clothes too. Within seconds, of course, using his Seidr. Darcy looked over at him and her eyes widened when she saw the state he was in.
‘Bloody hell, Loki! You’re hung like a fucking horse!’ She said in surprise, making Loki laugh.
‘Well, forgive me for being in this state. But I am a male after all, and seeing a beautiful woman with such luscious breasts on display is going to affect me in such a way.’ He winked at her.
‘Are you... are you flirting with me?’ Darcy asked, narrowing her eyes at him, hands on her hips.
‘Perhaps.’ Loki shrugged, smirking.
‘Wanna get it on?’ Darcy asked, biting her lower lip.
Loki’s eyes darkened slightly. ‘Are you sure? You are not just in some drunken state?’
‘Yes, I’m drunk. But I’m female, you’re male. And judging by the look of you, we are both horny. So why not?’
Loki didn’t need any more convincing as he leapt onto the bed and crawled over towards her with a predatory look in his eyes.

Aurelia woke up to sunlight on her face. Her favourite way to wake up. She carefully opened her eyes to see Estel opening the drapes.
    “Good morning princess,” She said
    “Good morning,” Aurelia stretched
    “How was your time with Prince Loki yesterday?” Estel asked,
    Aurelia took her time reminiscing, she sat up in bed and wrapped a blanket around her naked body trying to keep warm. She smiled to herself, but Estel noticed.
“I am assuming you had a nice time based on that smile of yours,” Estel smiled with mischief.
    “I believe it went well, yes,” Aurelia continued to smile.
    “Do you intend to visit the library with him today?” She asked
    She thought about it for a moment, she did want to see the famous Asgardian library. She could tell that it was one of Loki’s favourite spots. Her heart did flutter a little when thinking about him. There came a knock at the door. Estel went over and opened it a crack. Aurelia could not hear who was at the door.
   "Was it Loki?” Her mind called. Her heart fluttered again
    “I’ll let her know,” Estel said and shut the door, her expression unreadable.
    Aurelia bit her lip.
    “Thor has requested he show you the training grounds today,”
    “Oh” Aurelia’s mind deflated
    Well, it wasn’t that bad. She did enjoy his company that night at the feast. His laughter was loud and contagious. All of his stories were about the beasts he had killed or all the men he could fight at once. Aurelia laughed a little to herself.
    “Seems you have both princes vying for your attention,” Estel too laughed a little. She made her way over to the closet and started to pick out some gowns. She held one up what had a hint of red blush underneath a cream gown. Aurelia nodded, if she was to marry a prince, may as well appeal to them.
    She lifted from the bed and stretched again. What an interesting turn of events.

Thor and princess Aurelia walked the halls of the palace and made their way to the training grounds. Thor was hoping to show off his abilities in front of the princess. He thought that he had the high ground in this competition with his brother.
    Just as Thor thought about his brother doesn’t Loki turn the corner and greet them.
    Loki nods his head to the princess, “Aurelia,” he simply nodded to his brother, “Where are you going?”
    Aurelia spoke first, “Thor is to show me the training grounds,”
    Loki simply hummed with his hands behind his back. Deep inside he was seething. He hated to see the princess in the company of Thor. So he came up with an idea.
    “Oh? Are you going to spar?” Loki asked
    Before Aurelia answered, Thor, piped up, “I don’t think she would want to fight me,”
    Loki’s brows raised, “So you’re simply going to spar against a dummy and she watches? Where is the fun in that?” There was a pause in the conversation. “Why don’t you and I spar?” He asked Thor.
    Thor straightened his spine, he didn’t expect his brother would want to fight him. “You’re on, brother,”
    The three of them walked the halls towards the training grounds. Aurelia found herself seemingly nervous, although she did not know why.

Aurelia sat in a seat just above the training grounds. She could see Loki and Thor clearly as they wore average padded armour. Some other warriors around quietly stopped their own training to come to see the spectacle of the royal brothers fighting each other. Thor wielded a small sword in one hand and a shield in the other. Loki was clearly aiming to be quick on his feet as he had chosen two daggers, he slid a third one into a holster on his thigh.
    Aurelia fiddled with her hands, there was a nervousness in the air but she also was amused.
    “How symbolic, ” She thought “ The two most eligible bachelors fighting against each other”
    Thor struck first. His sword flew through the air. But Loki was quick, he dodged Thor’s sword. Loki flicked the knife in the air. They circled each other.
     The fight continued, each giving each other blows. Loki was quick and spry, he was lethal with those knives. But Thor had his strengths, he eventually figured out the patterns of Loki’s strikes. Loki changed his tactics again, he almost taunted Thor to strike. But one blow Loki did not see. Thor’s elbow came knocking into Loki’s face, sending him backward onto the ground.
    “Damn him. If I could use my magic, he would have surrendered by now,” Loki thought. He was out of breath, wanting to be finished with this embarrassment. He held his hands up in surrender.
    The crowd cheered and Thor held out a hand to Loki. Loki bit his lip and half-heartedly accepted Thor’s help.
    Aurelia stood and clapped. The symbolism hit her, was she to marry Thor?
    Red anger soared through Loki, he watched Aurelia clap, her eyes flicked from Thor to himself. He exited the training grounds. Pure red rage flowed through him, he hated that Thor always had to win, always had to be better than him. Always had women fawning over him, just like Aurelia. That name brought both calm and more rage. Clearly, she was clapping for Thor’s win, her eyes clearly went to him simply for pity. Loki took off the padded armour and dropped it on the floor as he left. He discarded the daggers on a table as he left.
    Loki made his way to his chambers. The doors flew open with a flick of his wrist, he entered and slammed his fist against the wall. His jaw tightened as his knuckles cracked. He thought about giving up this ridiculous competition. Thor would always win, no matter how hard Loki tried.
    "What is the point?" He thought.

Aurelia searched for Loki, she found the discarded armour and the daggers on the table of the training grounds. She heard Thor approach her so she put a smile on her face.
    “Congratulations Thor, that was well fought,” She said
    Thor gave a big smile, he felt pride swallow him. She would be his in no time, and he wouldn’t have to do any of his academics anymore. He gave a small laugh as well. “Well, I am the strongest,”
    Aurelia burned at his comment, The nerve of him! She thought. She continued to smile, pretending to be interested in this whole situation. But she could feel the anger Loki was giving off after his defeat. Before she was about to speak Thor interrupted.
    “How about I show you the rest of the city?” He asked.
    Aurelia bit the inside of her cheek. She wanted to find Loki, see if he was ok. He was clearly upset and embarrassed from the spar with Thor. But she cannot just say no to the crown prince of Asgard. Clearly, she needed to impress at least one of the Asgardian princes for the sake of her kingdom.
    She gave a nod, “Sure,” She spoke softly
    Thor held out his arm, and reluctantly Aurelia took it. She tried not to think about the sweat on his arms.
    He led the princess out of the palace and they made their way to the center of Asgard. The city was bustling with vendors of all sorts. Some in carts some and some of the streets had shops built along. Crowds dotted the street and Aurelia continued to walk beside Thor. The energy was awkward. People stopped and bowed before the prince and Aurelia felt as though she was on display as Thor’s woman. A seed of anger bloomed inside of Aurelia. She was not Thor’s, Yet. Her mind spoke. She let go of his arm and clasped her hands behind her back as she strode along with Thor.
    He looked at her and a sliver of disappointment crept inside him. This competition would be harder than he thought. He loved this challenge. He looked at her and imagined her sprawled on his bed. The feeling of satisfaction went through him. He smiled, he would win her and no more academic work.
    Aurelia saw the smug smile on Thor’s face, it confused her but also unsettled her. She pretended it didn’t bother her.
    “How do you like the streets of Asgard?” Thor asked
    “I love the liveliness of the streets, reminds me of the trading centers in Alfheim” She tucks a piece of hair behind her ear.
    Thor watches as she tucks a piece of hair behind her pointed ear, “What is Alfheim like? I have yet to visit,”
    They continue to stroll down the busy street. Aurelia looks at the vendors and stores. She should grab a souvenir before she leaves. She meets Thor’s eyes. “Alfheim is relatively similar to Asgard, but the differences are… very large.” She laughs, “We don’t have many feasts… and when we do they are full of delicate music and traditions”
    Thor nods and he imagines her dancing at the feast that had just passed. How he wished to grip her waist as she writhed beneath him. He blinked his eyes, focusing back on her words.
    “Elves are much more carefree about life, we simply wish to enjoy nature and what it has to give us.” She was tempted to talk about how elves are carefree about nudity and such but advised against it.
    The sun was getting more golden as it hit the horizon, the neighbouring planets were more illuminated.
    “Shall we head back?” Thor suggested,
    Deep inside Aurelia gave a sigh of relief. “Yes, don’t want to worry the parents,” She gave a small laugh.

Trust, Chapter 18
TITLE: Trust CHAPTER NO./ONE SHOT: Chapter 18 AUTHOR: fanficshiddles ORIGINAL IMAGINE: Imagine Loki kidnaps Darcy Lewis, in hopes of getting the tesseract in return for her. Imagine his surprise when he grows rather fond of the mortal, finding that she understands him better than anyone else ever has.  RATING: M
Loki had to conjure up earplugs during the night when Darcy started snoring. It had been that or shove her out of the bed, luckily for Darcy he had gone for the former.
He was awake before her and took a moment as he looked at her. She was a peculiar mortal. Unlike the others she wasn’t vain and always worried about her looks, even around the likes of him. Being a God and all. What you saw was pretty much what you got with Darcy. And he liked that about her, there was no bullshit.
What he didn’t like, however, was the fact she was drooling on one of his pillows. He groaned and rolled his eyes as he slipped out of bed to go for a bath.
When he emerged, dressed and ready for the day, Darcy was awake. Her hair dishevelled and her eyes slightly puffy. It took her a little while to wake up though, unlike Loki who looked bright eyed and ready pretty much the second he opened his eyes.
Darcy stretched with a groan as her muscles started to wake up.
‘You were snoring again.’ Loki said as he folded his arms over his chest. ‘And drooling on my pillow.’
‘Geez, good morning to you too. It’s just moan, moan, moan with you. I’m sure you can just poof it clean.’ Darcy shrugged and got out of bed. ‘Besides, I’m sure you’ve had far worse bodily fluids on your bed.’ She patted his chest as she walked past him to the bathroom.
Loki rolled his eyes but did smirk a little.
Loki and Darcy joined Thor and Jane for breakfast in a fancy golden room, Thor called it the mini hall, even though in Darcy’s eyes it was pretty huge. There was a full buffet for them with various fruits and meats, Darcy thought she had truly died and gone to heaven as she stuffed her face.
Frigga came in not long after they were finished eating.
‘Just coming to see if you ladies are needing dresses for the celebration tonight?’ Frigga asked Darcy and Jane.
‘I still have my dress from last time I was here.’ Jane smiled.
‘I actually took something with me to wear tonight.’ Darcy said, looking at Loki slightly uncertainly.
‘You can’t wear a dress from back home, Darcy.’ Jane said quickly.
‘If you have something you wish to wear, that’s no problem. Some Midgardian flare isn’t a bad thing.’ Frigga said kindly, making Darcy grin.
‘You may regret that, mother. I have not even seen what it is she has taken.’ Loki said, amused.
‘Well, a nice surprise for us all.’ Frigga winked at Darcy, who couldn’t stop grinning.
‘She’s glad to have you home.’ Thor commented to Loki after, when they were showing Darcy and Jane around the gardens.
‘It is nice to see her again.’ Loki said with a nod, looking straight ahead.
‘You should speak to father. I’m sure you can patch things up with him.’ Thor tried.
‘He is not my father. Never was and never will be.’ Loki snapped. ‘If he wants to patch things up then he can come to me. I will not be going to him and grovelling for forgiveness when it’s his fault in the first place.’
Loki swiftly walked away from Thor and caught up with Darcy, who was having a look at a huge plant that was like a Venus fly trap, but deadlier…
‘Do not ever put any part of your body on there. It is not like the ones on Midgard. It will cause your flesh to melt and will rot your bones instantly.’ Loki picked up a small stone and threw it in one of them. It instantly snapped shut and dissolved the rock within a second.
‘That’s SO COOL! Let me try!’ Darcy then proceeded to chuck various objects she could find into them, making Loki chuckle.
‘Think I could get Jane to stick her finger in?’ Darcy said quietly to Loki.
He smirked. ‘Come now, I doubt you truly want her to hurt herself to that extent.’
Darcy shrugged.
‘Besides, she is smarter than Thor.’ Loki said.
‘Has Thor ever touched them?’ Darcy looked up at Loki, eyes wide.
‘Yep. Took years before his finger healed and grew back properly, with many potions and spells from mother. Of course, being a God helped. But he is so gullible.’ Loki laughed at the memory.
After wandering around the city for a few hours, it was time to get ready for the celebrations. Obviously, it didn’t take the Gods long at all. Mere seconds to change into their royal armour.
But Darcy was taking ages in the bathroom, Loki was getting bored waiting. He ended up engrossed in a book when Darcy finally emerged.
He hadn’t been sure exactly what he was expecting. But he was slightly blown away when he turned around to look at Darcy.
She was wearing a low-cut black dress that went down to her mid-thigh on one side and slightly lower on the other, but it had a dark green, light and airy, under skirt that went down to just above her ankles. But the dress really pushed her breasts up and out more, showing her figure better. Her hair was up in a messy bun with some strands down.
‘Well, what do you think?’ She asked as she spun around, her dress flowing out beautifully.
‘I think it’s the first time I’ve seen you in a dress, you pull it off rather well. You should wear them more often.’ Loki smirked and walked towards her.
Darcy put her hand on her hip and glared at him. ‘Don’t get used to it. Oh! Wait!’ She ran to her suitcase and rummaged through it. Loki still couldn’t quite understand why she had packed so much stuff, for just two nights away.
She pulled out a pair of black high heels and slipped them on. Gaining a few inches, but when she squared up to Loki, she pouted as he still towered over her. ‘Damn. I was hoping to get much more height.’
Loki laughed and put his arm out for her. ‘You’re just fine. Now, shall we?’
‘Hell yeah, I’m ready to be a princess for the night!’ Darcy grinned as she took his arm and they made their way to the main hall.
‘Nice touch with my colours, by the way.’ Loki said on the way.
‘Ah you noticed. I thought it would add some extra flare and get the people talking, like we planned.’ Darcy swished her dress about, making Loki laugh again.
As soon as they turned the corner into the hall, there was screeching came from a group of girls who were dressed over the top in green. They rushed towards Loki, but stopped a few feet away when they saw Darcy on his arm.
‘Ladies.’ Loki nodded politely to them as he strolled on by with Darcy.
‘Are they some of the desperate Asgardian commoners?’ Darcy asked, loud enough for them to hear.
Loki was delighted having someone that was up to his par with being mischievous. ‘They are indeed.’ Loki replied in the same tone, hearing some gasps from the girls behind them as they followed the two towards the table where Loki and Darcy both picked up some wine.
‘Well, they better keep their hands off my man or I will smite them with my taser.’ 
Loki almost choked on his wine as he was mid sip. The girls swiftly dispersed upon hearing the threat. Not knowing what a taser was.
‘Loki, where are your manners.’ Frigga said as she approached the two, having seen Loki spit some wine back into his goblet.
‘Apologies. Darcy is just far too funny.’  
‘Indeed. You have caused quite a stir already. Though I must say, you look absolutely stunning.’ Frigga said as she gently cupped Darcy’s cheek.
‘Thank you. I’ve never been to anything like this before. It’s quite fun being dressed up for a change.’ Darcy couldn’t stop swishing her dress around.
‘Make yourself at home and enjoy. But don’t get up to too much mischief, the both of you.’ Frigga said knowingly as she wandered off.
She went over to her husband and joined him at the head table.
‘What is it with the Prince’s of Asgard courting Mortal women.’ Odin grumbled.
Frigga laughed and put her hand on Odin’s arm. ‘Come now, love. You know Thor loves Jane and vice versa. Loki and Darcy are not together, but they are putting on a show tonight. I think to spare Loki from the swooning commoners. But even if he was courting Darcy, I like her. She’s good for him.’ She said fondly as she watched Loki and Darcy drinking plenty of wine.
It wasn’t long before Loki started pulling pranks, mainly on some of the higher royals from other realms. Things such as adding the odd super-hot pepper to some of the food, causing the unsuspecting royal to need to rush off to the bathroom with a bright red face. Childish things really, but they made Darcy laugh too.
As the celebrations continued into the night, Darcy and Loki proceeded to get more drunk on the Asgardian wine. They were certainly turning some heads as they danced together, Loki actually spinning her around so much she almost fainted from being so dizzy. Everyone thought they were together, and many talked that they had never seen Loki seem so happy and jolly for a change. Instead of just lurking alone in the shadows with a sullen look on his face as he was badgered by commoners.
At the end of the night, Darcy and Loki stumbled back to Loki’s chambers. Darcy was glad to get her heels off, Loki smirked and stood tall on front of her. ‘That’s better, back to your usual height.’ He teased, patting her head.
‘Shurrup.’ Darcy playfully pushed at him.
She was drunk enough that she didn’t care if Loki saw her naked, she just wanted to get into bed. So she just took her dress off at the side of the bed, with Loki watching with an eyebrow raised at her boldness, especially since she wasn’t wearing a bra.
Loki decided to just remove his clothes too. Within seconds, of course, using his Seidr. Darcy looked over at him and her eyes widened when she saw the state he was in.
‘Bloody hell, Loki! You’re hung like a fucking horse!’ She said in surprise, making Loki laugh.
‘Well, forgive me for being in this state. But I am a male after all, and seeing a beautiful woman with such luscious breasts on display is going to affect me in such a way.’ He winked at her.
‘Are you… are you flirting with me?’ Darcy asked, narrowing her eyes at him, hands on her hips.
‘Perhaps.’ Loki shrugged, smirking.
‘Wanna get it on?’ Darcy asked, biting her lower lip.
Loki’s eyes darkened slightly. ‘Are you sure? You are not just in some drunken state?’
‘Yes, I’m drunk. But I’m female, you’re male. And judging by the look of you, we are both horny. So why not?’
Loki didn’t need any more convincing as he leapt onto the bed and crawled over towards her with a predatory look in his eyes.

He agreed on getting some breakfast before he left. And that was the last goodbye.
When I woke up, not many hours after, Loki was awake and still staring. Did he even move? Probably not.
"Were you up all night?" I hid a yawn as I asked. Loki nodded a yes, still not moving. I sighed and got up, my stomach asking for muffins.
"I'm gonna get some breakfast, do you want something?" I looked at him as I put on my boots and checked at the cash I had. I had to get some money later today, but they were enough for breakfast. He made a tutting sound of no. I hummed an ok and left, deciding to let him on his thoughts.

"What is that?"
He got out of his bubble when I threw a paper bag of muffins in his stomach.
"Muffins. It only had raisins," I shrugged. He took out one and sniffed it before putting it back and leaving the bag beside him.
"What?" I eyed him. I guess that he's a killer but everyone likes muffins, even if they are with raisins.
"Lactose intolerant, can't eat them," I made an oh sound on this information. He didn't consider this as a poisoning attempt, did he?
"Anyway," I swallowed a bite and left my bag aside. It was kind of a dick move to eat in front of him. "What were you thinking about?" I asked, my eyes pinned on him.
"The answer," He said plainly. I swallowed thickly. Would he attack after he had it?
"Did you… did you get closer?" I tried to hide my anxiety.
"I think I have it," He sat back. Relaxed. He was probably about to murder me and he was relaxed. I felt my heart beating faster.
"And… What is it?" I basically stuttered, panic creeping out.
"It's a big answer," He tried to avoid it. It was about my safety, my life. I deserved to know if he would kill me.
"I have all day," I crossed my hands, holding myself from panicking.
"So… I was not always like that. Once, I was just a farmer's boy in a small village in Norway. And it was a simple life. Some farming, more hunting, even more raiding… Nice and simple and I liked it, even if it was hard and boring.
"And, my seiðr helped. I was well respected since I was a baby, I was considered a gift from the Gods. But, I had a big brother and he stopped all this from making me a narcissistic dick." I scoffed a bit.
"Got some bad news for you,"
"Shut up," He spat and cleared his throat.
"So… I was in a raid, basically a massacre. A man had me on the ground, too weak to fight back and with a sword about to slit my throat. And he got sliced in half by an axe. And behind him was a woman. She looked like you, you are almost a clone of her. She was with her armour and bloody and dirty, I didn't look better, but she was just stunning in my eyes. We fought together for the rest of the raid, and claimed each other on the boat home. She was from the village next to mine, a friendly one." His eyes got dreamy just by talking about that woman. I guessed she was the first soulmate.
"Her name?"
"Sigyn. Like in the mythos. We found out we were soulmates, we married and we had twins, Narfi and Vali. Good boys, but impossible to keep them out of trouble. But we were a happy family." His nostalgic look didn't change when he talked about the boys. I smiled at him, it was good to know he knew love.
"But, the Christians came. They thought of us as barbarians and Pagans for believing in the Tradition. I saw some men and women I knew getting burnt in the stake for believing in the Gods. It was frightening, but we were the wildlings." His nostalgic smile faded and got replaced with disgust. I completely understood it.
"They came to me and made me an offer. I had to abandon my belief in the Tradition and get baptized and me and my family would live. The boys were still babies and Sigyn was weak from the birth, I couldn't risk moving away or denying. And I agreed. I stopped the raids, became a hunter and they named me Luke. Hel, I was even going to the church every Sunday… But I still raised my boys as my father raised me, I didn't want them to change into this, just because I had to pretend to be a changed man." His disgust grew bigger. I nodded and waited for him to finish.
"I had to hide my magic to protect myself and my family, practising my belief and my power in secret. I hated hiding, especially since I was used to being proud of who I am. But I had no choice.
"Some more Christians came and brought this terrible disease, smallpox. I got sick, very sick. The best doctors, Norse and Christians, told me the same thing. "Pray for a fast death," I told Sigyn to take the kids, they were six, and go to her mother's house. I didn't want them to get sick or see me dying so terribly. And, when they left me alone and I gathered all the strength I had left, I healed me, with magic. They called it a miracle. And my family returned."
"Someone spoke of magic. Of a green light coming out of the hut as I healed. They suspected Sigyn and she was arrested for witchcraft. She didn't tell them I was the witch, and she died in the stake, along with my kids. I had to watch it. They forced me to watch my family burn…" His voice broke and tears fell from his eyes. I moved closer and grabbed his shoulder, making him turn to face me and wipe them away. Then, something odd lit up in his eyes.
"I was mad with anger after this. Since they came, I did everything I could to protect them. Everything. And they murdered them. I took Sigyn's axe and slayed the old bitch who accused her. Then, I fueled my magic with rage and burnt down the village. I didn't care if it was Christians or my own people, they were all traitors, all killers. They took my life away from me, and I did the same. The villages around saw the green flames. They said it was the wrath of a powerful God. Some knew I was a witch. So, they created the God Loki. I didn't give a shit about being a God, but I didn't say anything." His eyes glowed for a moment as he spoke, his whole body tight with the memory. The lamp near us broke, I didn't need to wonder why. He breathed down and managed to collect himself before he went on.
"After this, I was easy on losing control because of my anger. I even killed my next soulmate because of this, in an accident. I don't even remember what happened, I only remember the anger. People grew scared of me, I was a monster. I couldn't live there anymore. I started wandering around Europe, and soon, around the Earth. It took me a lot of time to take control again, but I did. And, my soulmates were different. They didn't look like her, or they reminded me of her. They were bringing back the pain, the anger, the sentiment. Once, I was sharing a bed with one and I remembered the smell of my family. I ran to the bathroom and cried so hard I vomited. I couldn't live with soulmates anymore, so I was getting rid of them, of the sentiment. And the killing began." He was still whimpering, fighting back his tears. I cupped his head and moved my hand along his hair, hoping he would be soothed down.
"It had become a habit. And easy. I needed ten minutes to get done with the next one and then I was free again. And I was easy on finding them. They reminded me of that smell. But, you were different. You had your magic, like me, and you fought back. I used to hate you for that, but now I admire you. And, everyone had small traits of Sigyn, enough to bring back the memories, the smell. You have traits of all three of them, but you don't bring back the smell. Just the feeling of family… I hated you for that too, it was foreign to me. But you made it familiar, with your kindness last night…" He held himself longer, but I started tearing up. He moved his cold hand and wiped them away, a soft smile on his face.
"And, I started thinking. I didn't sleep, because of the thoughts. Killing will never bring my family back, it will only make them disappointed. And you made me realize that, with your questions. I gain nothing from murdering, I only lose them. And I have to go back to them, I don't belong in this era. I belong with the dead, with my family. I was turned into a corpse that made more corpses just to prove itself that it's still alive. So, I won't hunt you down again. I will leave. I will let you live your life, with someone you deserve to. I will go back home and wait until I can go with my family again. I will let the Norns guide me to them," His voice was breaking, he was barely holding himself together now.
"This is it? Good-bye?" I cried out, unable to stop my tears. He nodded a yes, then he hugged me.
"I just want you to know that I thank you. I thank you so much for bringing light to my way, for helping me out. I owe you so much, my dear. So much… I will see them again because of you, I am alive again because of you." He let himself cry, his hands tangled around me and his face hiding in my shoulder. I weeped too, holding him tight.
I lost track of how long we stayed like this. But he let go, let me wipe away his tears and smiled at me before he blew a kiss on my forehead.
"Promise me to keep contact," I smiled. He grinned and nodded.
"Thank you, my love," He whispered. I cried again and he wiped it away, shushing the pain away.

Ikemen Revolution Part 13 - Seth Hyde Route

Seth is like the type of girl friend the heroine needs in Cradle lol. Honestly, I'm not into Seth at all, but I do think it's cute how the heroine can enjoy crepes together with him and be so comfortable with him haha. Honestly, I kinda wanted the heroine to fall in love with Seth for the "girly" parts of him that make her so comfortable to show that love can be as simple as finding someone you're really comfortable with, but it seems like the route is taking more of the idea of the heroine falling for Seth because he exhibits "manly" qualities every now and then and it makes her heart flutter realising how different and cool he can be when he switches "modes" I guess. And she only really gets excited to see that part of him so yeah... It's kinda disappointing for now but I'll roll with it and see.
I'm also really surprised how the heroine is so into Seth already, like dang, can't relate lolll. Lmao at Seth really having to be her knight in shining armour for everything though, it's kinda cute how fast Seth comes when something happens to her🤣 Anyway, Seth really feels like a yandere type when he's trying to protect her from everything and doesn't want any guy ogling her and telling her to stay innocent and not get into dangerous stuff lol. Well dang, I didn't expect Seth to be so forward and full go into predator mode giving her a hickey to "keep the wolves away" lol. I mean sure it's nice that she doesn't want to only be protected by them and wants to do something as well, and that makes him happy to see how strong she is, but whoa he's like totally into her lol. I honestly find it pretty random how much the heroine wanted more from him though, like dang girl, how long have you guys met lol, to be fair though, she finds him sexy and sensual but I don't so I guess that makes a difference haha. I personally also think it's inappropriate for Seth to do something like that to her when he's supposed to be her guard and stuff, and she's still so confused about the world and stuff but yeah.. whatever rolls with the heroine I guess... I'm also not sure if I feel her "undeniable chemistry" with Seth because all he did was make moves on her (quite inappropriately imo since I feel like they barely know each other) and she liked it and that's all lol. Aside from their first outing that seemed really nice and fun where they got along well, I honestly don't feel like they've done anything to warrant how much they're supposedly into each other right now lol. However, I do enjoy how encouraging Seth is and how supportive he is when the heroine feels doubt in her capabilities of protecting people with her powers.
Honestly, at this point it feels more like Seth is seducing her to use her than actually liking her tbh lol. Anyway, I find it hilarious how they had a full on intense kiss session, and the heroine now talks about it a day or two later saying now she knows what that kiss means to her and why she really wants to know how Seth feels about her, like okay, I'm pretty sure she was going on about him for ages before that happened, and when the kiss happened, she loved it so much lol. However, I honestly don't buy the heroine saying it's love and not just physical attraction, every time she's "into" Seth, it's something physical lol. Anyway, I personally find this route really boring right now because I just feel like the heroine is so thirsty for Seth for no real reason lol. Like, it's admirable for her to voice that she likes him and wants him sexually as well but seriously, I don't think she knows anything about him, but then again, it doesn't seem like she really cares because she's like satisfying her desires with him first and then maybe find out more about him after lol. I guess for me, I don't really understand such fervent desire/lust so it's hard to relate and it doesn't help that the heroine is mainly thinking how sexy Seth is with anything and everything he does when I just get turned off by most of the stuff he does lol. To be fair though, I can kinda see why Seth was smitten with her, since her obsession with him makes her willing to accept everything about him and do her best to bring him back from the abyss instead of falling down with him. 
Anyway, it's sad to know that Seth seems to be doing the bidding of the Tower so he can protect his little sister, and I guess the heroine was the only light he had ever found... On another note, the heroine was really frustrating when she followed Loki to Blanc's place without even writing a simple note or something that she was going somewhere. They're in a war right now!! And they still had to go around wasting their time looking for her when she was just looking for Seth like seriously, I would be so mad at her. The Black Army are way too nice to her. Anyway, I also personally find it silly that Seth says the heroine is similar to his sister but it's not until the flashbacks now that they kinda tell us why they're similar, before that, it might as well have been just because they're both girls lol. Anyway, Nodisha talking like Seth is pretty funny lol. Awww, I find it really sweet how Seth changed his mannerisms and how he talked and everything just so he could be a good role model for Nodisha since she's stuck in a room in the Magic Tower by herself. Not sure if this way of talking is the best for her but at least he tried his best haha.
Anyway, I know this route is pretty dramatic and has the feel where love conquers all, but the heroine is honestly so irresponsible when it comes to everything else aside from Seth. Like she already made the Black Army worried before when she randomly disappeared, but now even amidst the war, during battle, she runs off to find Seth. Like yes, we know that's her first priority and she loves him blah blah, but not only did she nearly get herself killed or captured by the Red Army, but even after reuniting with Seth, she's so focused on him, she couldn't care less about the chaos surrounding everyone else. Anyway, I just get so annoyed because she says she understands her importance and always selfishly asks Ray and them to let her go to battle and everything, but she never fully follows through with what she says she will do such as protecting everyone when really, she only wants to really protect Seth. But yeah anyway, it's nice to see everything pretty much resolved, and Seth can finally be free without his burdens, he felt like a "lighter" person without all that haha. I feel bad for the heroine that in Seth's choices for the future (resuming his position in the Black Army or leaving to go far away with Nodisha and start a new life) the heroine isn't in there, but I can understand why.
Honestly, even though I don't really care for the romance between the heroine and Seth, I really liked how Seth told her he loved her, but it was because of that that he wanted her to go back to her own world where her family, friends, career and her whole life is, instead of sacrificing it all for a guy she's spent a few weeks with. Like dang, I'm so glad someone is telling her to face reality, like c'mon, you've been so smitten with him, you haven't even spared a thought for the other people who are worried about you, I feel sorry for them lol. She was so ready to abandon everything that I just can't like how reckless the heroine is tbh lol. However, I did think her and Seth running back to each other in the end is cutee since they at least thought about what they really wanted first before going back to each other lol.
Overall, I'm not a fan of Seth's route, and I don't really like him either lol. I guess the heroine being so reckless and doing everything for "love" to the point that she literally didn't care about others or anything else irked me. As for Seth, he's an all right guy and I liked him better after they resolved most things since he's pretty mature and stuff, but I found the foundation of their relationship rocky, which it was supposed to be since he was "ordered" to seduce her but ended up falling for her, however I still I found them falling for each other to be really more of a physical love more than anything else. Like, it's great that the story is exploring more mature themes and sex is a natural thing in a relationship, but the way it was done just made me think the heroine was only thirsty for him and I honestly couldn't see what made her so smitten with him when she's gushing over his "surprising" masculinity like 80% of the time lol. Otherwise, I did like to see Seth free from the stuff that bothers him in other routes, and can feel like he can be a true part of the gang. But yeah, the romance was definitely not my thing here.

“I want to dress up as Daddy!” Elina insisted, shoving a spoonful of cornflakes and milk into her mouth. It would be the first year you took your daughter trick or treating for Halloween. She was yet to decide on a costume—even more adorable was the fact she meant to turn into the Norse God of Mischief himself.
It was then your husband entered the kitchen as well, heading straight for the coffee machine.
“Good morning, Trickster.” He greeted you with a warm kiss. “Guess who our daughter wants to be for Halloween.”
Elina grinned, making Loki frown playfully. “Who?”
“You.”
The God of Mischief smiled, a warm feeling spreading in his chest as he approached his flesh and blood and pressed a loud kiss on her forehead.
“Well, in that case, my sweet little queen, perhaps it is time for you to get your own golden helmet, no?”
“Yes!!!” Milk spilled all over the table when Elina, in her joy, threw her spoon high up in the air.

“Loki… that looks amazing. How did you…?”
“Magic, my dear.” When you walked into your shared bedroom, you were met with an exact miniature version of Loki’s leather armour, including the horned helmet. The costume was floating in the air before him as he added a few more final touches here and there, his long digits shimmering with green seidr.
“She will love it.” You assured him, wrapping your arms around him from behind and pressing a soft kiss to his neck.
“I most certainly hope so. I was… under the impression that she would rather dress up as one of them.” You knew he meant the Avengers. There was no need for him to say it.
“You are her hero, Loki. You know that.” The God of Mischief smiled to himself.
“Yes. I know that.”
“Let us go then.”

Elina kept squealing all the while putting on her costume both happily and excitedly and continued doing so until you were walking… or dancing down the road. She was carrying an empty pumpkin bucket made of plastic, ready for collecting some candy. She looked absolutely adorable with her tiny hand in Loki’s, with him guiding her all the way.
It almost looked like there were two Tricksters in your life now. Oh, who were you kidding? There had been since the day Elina was born.
Loki, meanwhile, was beaming with pride at every door they knocked on. Luckily, nobody questioned his daughter’s choice of costume, for the people still held grudges over what had happened in New York. But Elina looked adorable with that small helmet and miniature leather armour and boots. She’d win every costume contest. Loki really had outdone himself.
“Aren’t you slowly getting tired, my little snake?” He asked her gently.
Elina shook her head frantically. “No! I need sooo much more candy! I want to share it with aaall of my friends!”
“We better hide it from Uncle Thor then,” Loki insisted. “He would eat it all by himself and leave you nothing.” You chuckled. Well, he wasn’t entirely wrong.
“Alright then. Twenty more minutes and then we will head back,” he added a little sterner. Elina nodded, quickly unwrapping one of the chocolates in her basket to shove it in her mouth.
“Elina, darling, you’ve already eaten so much chocolate tonight. I think it’s enough.” You reprimanded her tenderly. Elina pouted but started to grin wolfishly when Loki defended her.
“Oh, come now, my love, it is Halloween. Let her have some fun.” Raising your eyebrows at him, you glared at the both of them, strictly.
“You’ll get a tummy ache, Elina, you know that doesn’t feel nice.”
“Yes, I know, Mummy.” And with that, she shoved another piece of chocolate in her mouth.

“Where does she take all that energy from?” You moaned, letting yourself fall on the sofa next to Loki who had already prepared the living room for a quiet evening, just the two of you. You had just brought Elina to bed and you were most certainly more tired than she had been.
Loki chuckled. “She is a half-goddess, my love.”
“Yeah… that must be it.” Hungrily, you reached for the bag of left-over candy from when Loki and you had given it out to trick or treaters yourself earlier this afternoon.
“It’s our turn now.” You decided. Loki was a sweet tooth. He could never say no to candy. And what would be a better way to end Halloween night than by eating chocolate, watching horror movies and cuddling and snogging on the sofa now that your daughter was finally asleep?
With a sigh, you snuggled up to him, inhaling his wonderful scent and allowing him to cover you both with the warm blanket he had prepared. The both of you loved Elina more than anything, yet moments like these were rare and precious—and you enjoyed every second of them with relish.
Loki wrapped his arm around you, pulling you even closer to his strong body. Making you feel secure and protected.
“Here, try this one.” You said, holding up a piece of chocolate with liquid caramel inside.” He opened his mouth obediently, your fingers grazing his lips when he snatched it from your hand with his teeth. He hummed in approval after he had chewed and swallowed. “Another one?”
You giggled and unwrapped it for him, this time, however, he gently bit your fingers instead, licking over the tip slowly and intimately.
You bit your lower lip, a jolt of arousal cursing through your body.
“Delicious…” He purred. Your eyes locked. Before you even knew it, the movie was forgotten. You were straddling his lap, kissing him senseless. Loki’s hands disappeared under your pullover, unhooking your bra and caressing your sides, making you shiver.
“Mummy… Daddy…”
Your eyes widened. Vigorously, you pushed yourself off of him, your lips still swollen from your passionate kiss, and turned around. Elina was standing in the doorframe, one of her small hands tightly wrapped around the arm of her Captain America plush toy. With the other, she rubbed her eyes. Loki quickly turned off the TV so she wouldn’t see any scary scenes.
“What’s wrong, darling?” You chirped, waving her towards you. Elina snuffled when she sat down on the sofa between you two.
“My tummy is hurting.” Reproachfully, you threw a taunting I-told-you-so glance in Loki’s direction. He held back a grin. Just because your intimate get-together was postponed, that did not mean it was cancelled. But first, you needed to make sure your daughter would be alright.
“Come here, little snake.” Loki opened his arms and lifted her on his lap, one of his hands covering her stomach while the other held her tightly. You did not need to ask to know he was performing a spell to make her feel better and make the pain go away—he always did that with your headaches too.
“Better now?”
Elina nodded. “Thank you, Daddy.”
“Not for that, my little snake. Now, back to bed. If you don’t fall asleep fast, the Halloween goblins from Svartalfheim will eat all of your candy overnight.”
The little girl gasped in shock. “We can’t let that happen!”
“We cannot. Quickly now.” Elina smiled and wrapped her arms around him. When Loki stood to carry her back to her room, he shot you a promising glance over his shoulder.
“I will be right back, my love.” He said, quietly enough for the sleepy girl in his arms not to hear it. “And when I do, I expect you to be naked for me.”
You grinned. And as soon as Loki and Elina had turned around the corner, you already began tearing off your clothes.

Loki drabble
A/N: Thank the Norns for that two second trailer which lifted my writers block for a bit. Yet, it doesn’t mean I’m back on my bullshit, but it was definitely nice to string words again. I want to thank everybody for their ravenous replies when I yesterday posted I might have a little drabble inspired on that trailer. You made my evening :3
Warnings: I should say minor character death, but it’s really another NPC getting killed...

“I’m going to burn this place to the ground,” Loki threatened, a smirk playing on his lips. Yet he made it sound as if his threat was just another sentence of conversation. It was. Leaning back in his chair, even with chained wrists and clothed in itchy attire (which was more of an offense than this entire interrogation), the God was in full control of the situation.
The other occupant of the table probably thought the opposite. “I highly doubt it,” it said. 
The creature looked awfully normal, almost Human or Aesir. Yet, Loki wasn’t one to be easily fooled. He knew better. Time Variance Authority, or T.V.A. shortened, they called themselves. In the God’s opinion these agents were a laughable and pathetic lot.
If only they knew…
Loki scoffed. “Do you even know who I am?”
“Yes,” the agent confirmed and called forth a file on a device embedded in the table and read out loud. “Loki Laufeyson, Frost Giant; raised as Loki Odinson, Aesir; self-proclaimed God of Mischief and Lies; supposed to be ruler of Terra and Asgard-”
Loki eyed the room inconspicuous and only paid half attention as the list got ticked off. Most of it didn’t interest him, a great deal of the list was false, or the accusations hadn’t even happened. Yet. (Probably.)
“Killed by Thanos in the year-” there was a brief pause before the Human looking creature carelessly concluded with a shrug, “That has yet come to pass.”
The only sign that Loki was affected by that revelation was the slight narrowing of his green eyes, but his smile didn’t waver.
Not that he didn’t know what would come to pass to another of his selves. Oh, he knew! And he had chosen to stay as far away as possible from that event. Of course he had considered meddling with that verse, but he knew if he would do so, there would be no end to it and it would bring him the same fate as Loki from the verse of topic. 
Death!
No, the reason they had brought him in wasn’t because he had had a taste for vengeance. The God was more cunning, shrewd and smarter than that.
“And of what am I being accused?” Loki practically purred, knowing the answer already.
“You broke the rules of time-travel. You’re jeopardizing the universe.” The creature looked up from the device. “You’re a dangerous person.”
“Flattering,” the God countered, the smirk still playing on his lips. Then he leaned forward, his eyes on the other and with a hushed, dark voice he spoke his demand, “Tell me…” Loki paused, and as expected it gained the effect he wanted.
Curious and foolish enough, the agent leaned in a little closer to hear what their prisoner wanted to ask. Yet, it would never know. A white flash lit up the room and the agent toppled backward, crashing to the floor.
Slowly, Loki raised from his seat, the chains melting away from his wrists, the itchy and ridiculous garb he was wearing making place for his leather armour.
Oh, he loved it when a plan came together!
Carefully he stepped over the body and asked, “How are you going to stop me?”

Stoki Whumptober Day 16: A Terrible Horrible No Good Very Bad Day [1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9][10][11][12][13][14][15]  
When Loki woke, he was stretched out on the floor, and he couldn’t remember what he’d been doing before this.
More pressingly, he didn’t know any of the faces peering down at him. 
“So, did it work?” Asked the dirtiest looking of the three. 
“Are you alright?” Asked the fair haired one, shooting the other a fondly reproachful glare. 
The one with the foppishly shaped facial hair frowned. 
“What the hell happened, there, shimmers?” 
Loki blinked and frowned. 
“Do I… know you?” He asked slowly, reaching up to grasp his aching temple as he sat up. He took the opportunity to look around, and it did not help him to determine where he was at all. 
A faint sense of wrong began to make itself known as the three men traded looks. 
Loki got to his feet and swayed a little as he registered that he was a good deal further… up… than he was used to being. 
“Where have you taken me? And what have you done to me? Wha--” He reached up to touch his throat. 
His voice had deepened. He was taller. Had they-- had they stolen years from him?
“How-- how many?” He asked, voice shaking appallingly. He felt close to tears, and the three men looked confused. 
“Hey, Loki…” The blonde one spoke again, and Loki registered how odd it was that he seemed adult, and yet his face was clean. He reached up to touch his own chin, and was disappointed to find he was similarly clean shaven. 
“What do you remember?” The most bearded of them asked. 
Loki tried to focus on the question, tried to cut through the panic he felt that threatened to overwhelm him. 
“I…” He began, and then stopped. He could tell there were a great many memories, but they seemed out of reach. 
The dirty one thrust a metal arm forward, and Loki sprang back, ungainly on his too long legs and forced to flail his arms wildly to regain his balance. 
“Did you get it all out?” the man seemed to be growling more than speaking. 
Loki shook his head and continued backing away, unsure where he was or who they were or what they wanted. He just wanted to go home. 
He spun on his heel and took off at a run, out the first doors he saw and across a green lawn. 
“Heimdallllllll!” He called, only hoping he could outpace them long enough for the gatekeeper to send help or bring him back. He wondered where Thor was, their guards, their tutors, wondered how these men had gotten him away… 
And then he was sprawling face forward into the turf, arms wrapped around his middle and pulling him down. He kicked and thrashed, well aware that he was outmatched as always when it came to wrestling, but unwilling to be taken back without a fight. 
“LokI!” Grunted the blonde one, and Loki found himself pinned down. 
“What do you want of me? Do you think my father won’t have your heads for this?” He demanded. 
“Loki, something went wrong with the time stone. Do you remember trying to pull the power out of Bucky’s arm?”
Loki stilled, unspilled tears filling the edges of his vision. 
“Timestone?” He repeated, sensing at least some answers. 
“Yeah, the… the time stone, Bucky had it in his arm, and it left some power behind. You were trying to pull it out and you fell down. Does any of this sound familiar?” The man let go of his wrists and sat up as the other two arrived behind him. 
Loki shook his head. 
“This is going to sound dumb as hell…” the dirty one muttered, then cleared his throat. “Loki, how old are you?” 
The facial hair one looked sharply at the arm guy. Bucky. 
“Are you saying--?” 
“Four Hundred, eighty-nine.” Loki said firmly. 
They all stared, then the light haired man shook his head and stood, offering his hand to Loki to help him up. 
“I don’t know how old you were when we started, so I have no idea what that means.” He spoke softly, as if trying not to scare Loki any further. 
“So we’re buying this?” The bearded one asked, sounding incredulous. “Need I remind you this is Loki? He could be acting.” 
“What good would that do?” Barnes asked. “What possible benefit would this give him?” 
“It’d get your guards down, for one. Make you defensive of him for another.” Loki was really starting to dislike the man with the beard. But he took the blonde’s hand and stood, just the same, crossing his arms over himself protectively. 
“I uh-- want to know where we are.” He asked, this time more of a request, his voice quieter. 
“Northern New York.” The beard guy said. 
“Uh, Earth. Midgard.” The blonde filled in, somewhat more helpfully. 
That, at least, made some sense to Loki, and he looked around, stunned. 
“This is-- but, I was just on Midgard, and it was so…” He gestured, trying to find the right words, something less rude than the few that sprang to mind. 
“I think, if we’re guessing right, you’re actually much older than you remember being. So yeah, we’re not as um. Primitive? As you probably remember.” 
Loki nodded mutely. 
“Can we go back inside, sit down, and talk about this?” The kind man asked. The other two looked between themselves, and Loki found himself stepping closer to the light haired one, unsure what such glances meant. 
“Who are you?” He asked, instead of answering, and was mildly alarmed when the kind one reached up and knocked himself on the head. 
“Of course, sorry-- I’m Steve, this is Bucky--” He gestured at the dirty one with the armoured arm, and then at the other, “And this is Tony. We’re uh-- we were working with you before your accident.” 
Not, Loki noticed, ‘friends’. But then, why should he have hoped that his elder self had any better luck on the front? 
“Alright.” Loki said, then swept his hand forward. “Lead the way. I will come with you.” 
It wasn’t until just that moment that he wondered why Heimdall hadn’t answered him. Had something happened to Asgard? To Thor? His mother and father? Their people? 
He bit his lip against more questions, and let Steve lead him back into the building he’d made his escape from. 
They got him seated on a chair that was considerably plusher than the last Midgardian seat he’d experienced, the dirty-- Bucky-- had pushed a warm cup of tea into his hands, and they had waited for him to take a few sips before they began talking. 
“Do you know how old you are in relative Midgardian years?” Tony asked, and Loki made a face. 
“Not off the top of my head. How old do you grow to be?” 
Tony stared for a moment, then cleared his throat. “Let’s say a hundred, just to make it nice and round.”
Loki looked down and away. 
“Ah, I’m sorry.” He said softly. 
The other three looked between themselves, and he wondered if they understood how short their lives were, truly. 
“Asgardians may expect to reach five thousand years.” Loki explained, speaking gently. 
Tony let out a low whistle, then did a double take. “So you’re-- what, ten? Roundabouts?”
“I’m four hundred, eighty-nine.” Loki repeated, a touch defensively. 
“You’re a child.” Bucky responded, more forcefully, leveling a look in Tony’s direction. 
Loki had had enough of that instantly.
“I am a prince!” He insisted, standing while careful not to spill his tea. “And I’ll have you know I am already a magician. Which is more than any of you can say!”
He saw a smile grace Steve’s face, and felt a small warmth high up in his chest from it. 
“I’m glad to hear that. Do you think you could figure out how to get back to being an adult?” 
Loki chewed on his lower lip while he thought, then shook his head. 
“Not on my own. My mother will know what to do, though. I just need to reach her. Uh… speaking of…” He trailed off, afraid to ask. “Earlier I called for Heimdall, and he didn’t answer. Do you know… why that might be?” 
Another exchange of glances, this time between Tony and Steve. Loki hated that his body was apparently grown, and still he was being treated like a yearling. 
“You uh, might want to sit down your highness.” Tony said, and Loki felt his stomach drop, but he did as he was told. 
“First off-- I’m real sorry Loki, but according to Thor, your mom died a few years ago.” 
Loki felt his mouth fall open, but he couldn’t begin to name the sound that came out. 
“And Heimdall?” He asked at length, followed by, “My father? Where is Thor?”
“I uh, don’t think you’re on good terms with Asgard.” Tony said, as delicately as he could. 
Loki swallowed. 
“And Thor?” Thor wasn’t Asgard-- surely whatever he’d done, Thor, at least, would-- 
“Thor’s king now.” 
This time, Loki couldn’t stop the tears from coming to his eyes. 
“Thor banished me?” Loki felt so betrayed, so lost and alone, of a sudden. 
“No, I think that was on your dad.” Tony said, as if that were any consolation. 
“But  I can’t go h-home?” 
“Tony!” Steve warned, and Tony shut his mouth, obviously thinking better of whatever he had been about to say. “That’s probably enough for now, Loki. I’m sorry, I can tell this has all been a shock. Tony, are there rooms here? Loki probably could use some time to himself.” 
“Some time…” Loki murmured, then snapped. 
“Time! Which of you has the time stone?” 
“Annnd there it is.” Tony said, crossing his arms and sitting back in his chair smugly. 
“What?” Loki asked, watching as again, Adult Glances were traded. “Did I say something wrong? It’s just-- I can maybe make this right. I have to learn how to use the time stone. Then we can go back, save my mother, get her to help make me big again--” Loki could feel his spirits rising, some hope restored. They had the means to make everything right. He’d just have to apply himself to it, something his teachers said he was marvellous at, when he cared to try. 
“Woah there, hold up.” Bucky raised his hands. 
“Older you said that we had to be careful-- no long jumps, no frequent jumps. Going back like that could tear up… the fabric of time? I think?” Bucky looked to Steve for confirmation, and he nodded. 
“And even with a healthy fear of the thing, you ended up getting turned into a kid again--”
“Supposing he really is a kid again.” Tony interjected, and Steve gestured at Loki’s face. 
“I guarantee, you never saw him make any of those expressions as an adult. Now shush, Tony.” 
Loki wondered what expressions he did make, if not these, but let that one go. 
“I’m not afraid of the time stone.” He insisted, jutting his jaw out stubbornly. 
Steve just sighed and ran his hand up his forehead and back through his hair. 
“Yeah, Loki, I know. That’s the problem. Look, let’s-- why don’t I set you up in a room, you can just relax for a minute while we figure out what our next steps are. Okay?” 
“You aren’t my boss. I outrank you.” Loki insisted. 
“Not on Earth you don’t.” Bucky countered calmly. “Now come on. We’re gonna get you a room, you have a nap, we’ll reconvene when you wake up, okay, your highness?” 
Loki firmed his jaw, but didn’t protest any more, because he was pretty sure they would only call him childish if he did. 
He let them lead him down a hall and to a room, then duplicated himself while their backs were turned and made the real him invisible, letting them lock an illusory version of himself in the room. 
It was the first full look he got at his own adult face, and he was so shocked that he forgot to pay attention, and he almost let Steve walk into him. He got out of the way quickly, and let them go wherever they were headed, taking a moment to study himself. 
He wasn’t sure how much older he was but… it didn’t look as if the years had been kind. 
He looked tired, and thin. He had the fading signs of a bruise across his face, and small scars… but more than anything, he looked… oddly haunted. 
He wondered what had happened between himself and Asgard, wondered if that might be the cause, and decided to find the other men to see what he could learn. 
It wasn’t hard to track them, all things considered. They were not quiet. 
“--seems pretty legitimate to me, Tony. Have you ever seen him cry before?” Steve was saying as he approached, silently as his much practiced sneaking could be. 
“You think he can’t cry on cue to get what he wants? He’s trying to get us to let him have the stone, same as before, only this time with an ‘I’m so innocent, look at me, I never invaded anyone’ mask over the whole thing, just to make you more willing to part with it.” 
An invasion? Well, he supposed that would explain some of the hardship on his face. He’d never really seen himself as a general, but if life led him there, well, he would take it. 
“You think his first thought of a cover story would be ‘we should bring back my mom to help me out’ if he wasn’t a kid?” Bucky asked, and he saw Steve look at him gratefully. “Anyway,” Bucky continued, “this isn’t an ‘us’ thing. I have the stone, it’s my call. And I’m sorry, Stevie, but much as I do believe his brain might have gotten zapped back to baby, that doesn’t make me more confident in his ability to use it, and not make things somehow worse.” 
“Okay, fair, but what else do we have, options wise? Do we take him to Strange?” Loki wondered who that was, but Strange was clearly an unfavorable option; Bucky dismissed that with a single sharp jerk of his head.
“Well, what about Thor?” Tony asked. “If anyone can tell if he’s faking, it’d be Thor. And maybe he’s got someone there who knows what we’re dealing with.” 
Loki drew his breath in, the sound sharp enough to apparently alert Steve and Bucky to his presence. 
“Damn it, Tony!” Steve said, even as Bucky reached out and caught him blindly, the contact dispelling Loki’s invisibility.
“I want to see Thor. If you can call him, do it. I want my brother.” Loki pointed at the floor and stomped, an order turned halfway into the threat of a fit. 
“I don’t know, is that a good idea, you think?” Steve asked. “Loki, I don’t know how to explain-- he might not be happy to see you.” 
This was unfathomable to Loki, and he felt his eyes beginning to water again. “Then I’ll fix it! Whatever I did, I can make it right. But I need Thor here to make that happen, to help me put everything back the way it’s supposed to be. Please?” 
Loki was not, he realized, above begging. His whole world was lost to him now, his home, mother-- dead? --it seemed impossible. Heimdall wouldn’t answer his calls, and these men treated him like some combination weapon to be feared and child to pity, and he just wanted to understand, and fix things, and bury himself in the arms of his family. 
They hadn’t even told him what had come of his father, he realized. 
“Please, call my brother. I just want to go home!” The last word came out a wail. 
“Hoo boy.” Tony said, standing and edging his way out of the room. 
Steve came forward and wrapped Loki in a hug, and as he sniffled into Steve’s shirt, he heard Bucky saying what he’d hoped to hear. “Go on, call the guy’s brother. Like you said, if anyone can sort this out…” 
Loki clutched at Steve like a lifeline and let himself hope that things would be alright.

Astrid gasped and clutched her stomach as the seamstress yanked her back by the ribbons on her dress. “Can’t breathe,” she managed to choke out as the corset grew tighter and tighter. The woman finally let go and she fell forward but then clutched the mirror to steady herself. 
“Was that really necessary, Synnøve?” 
“My apologies, Lady Astrid. I often forget how fragile mortals could be.” 
There it was. It had been two hours since she was dragged into this room to try on wedding gowns and she was surprised that nothing had happened yet. She had been putting up with remarks like this for a whole month on Asgard. Loki knew nothing. When the two were seen together, the Æsir kept their remarks subtle. Loki wasn’t one to stir up conflict that would jeopardise political allies, so he dealt with them with similar subtle remarks and it had been fun to watch him tactfully bring down people’s sense of self-worth in a quintessentially Loki style. 
Attacks toward her when she was alone was a different case entirely. People talked shit blatantly, criticised her appearance, flaunted past trysts with her fiancé to her face, humiliated her, the lest went on and on. Apparently yanking her around by the ribbons of her corseted bodice was the hot new thing on the list. 
She was still in the initial stages of picking a dress, checking which silhouette she preferred. It was supposed to be an easy process until she discovered it wasn’t. There were load and load of options and different types of cuts and sleeves and silhouettes and colours. It wasn’t often that she wore any dress, let alone bridal ones. Her career didn’t allow her the freedom to wear anything other than ill-fitted scrubs and on occasion, well-fitted suits. Her motorcycle was her primary mode of transport and long flowy dresses were a safety hazard while short ones were a wardrobe malfunction waiting to happen. So, she had many things to blame for her lack of dress knowledge. But, that made the Asgardians here look down on her like she was some kind of peasant who had never seen a dress before. 
“Lady Astrid, Prince Loki requested your presence when you are finished here.” 
“Im finished,” she said hurriedly as she lifted up the layers and layers of tulle of her dress, jumped off her platform in her kitten heels and leaped out the door with the woman who called for her. Her facial expression contorted to suggest she was looking at an adorable puppy rather than a grown ass woman. 
“I remember being your age, newly in love and waiting for an opportunity to run off to meet my beloved.” 
Astrid just smiled and nodded, not having the heart to tell her that she was only rushing to be away from her banshee of a seamstress rather than to the arms of her lover. She was also surrounded by plenty of strangers the whole day and would kill to see a familiar face. She was escorted to Loki’s wing of the palace and left at the doorsteps. She quickly thanked her and stepped in. Loki was seated comfortable on his sofa, flipping through the pages of a humongous tome when you entered. He looked up from his book, surprised. 
“Get me out of this!” 
“Woah, woah! Breathe, darling,” he said in his silky smooth voice as straightened himself on the sofa. 
“I can’t breathe if you don’t get me out of this!” 
With just a flick of his finger, from a distance, the ribbons loosened and air finally entered her lungs. She plopped down ungraciously next to him and her dress took up most of the space on a sofa that would comfortably seat four Asgardians. She laid down with her feet on one side of the sofa and her head on Loki’s lap and kicked off her heels to the ground. 
“Nice dress,” he said, looking serious for only a fraction of a second before breaking into laughter. 
“Shut up, dick!” 
“No, I do not jest. You will make a wonderful cake at the ceremony.” 
She threw a cushion at his face, but the man continued laughing at your expense. Each time he simmered down and she thought he was going to stop, he began laughing louder.
“I’ve had a horrible day and I would appreciate if you stopped laughing at me and the ugly dress. If not, I will kill you in your sleep.”
“I presume it was unsuccessful…” 
“Could you remove this synthetic cloud smothering me to death?” she asked, lifting up some of the layers and letting it cascade back down. It took him very little time to vanish what she was wearing and replace it with cotton shorts and a t-shirt from her side of the wardrobe. 
“Thanks,” she sighed, relaxing for the first time that day. 
“Do you have anything to do, today?” 
“Yes, loads. Prince, remember?” 
“Ah, yes. People constantly remind me of that,” she said, dejected that she may not be able to spend too much time with him.
Her traced his index finger along her jawline as he looked at her in a way that drove her insane even after years of being together. “I always have time for you, my dear. Give me your word and I will cancel all my plans for you.” 
“No, you shouldn’t. You have Princely responsibilities and I don’t want to impede that.” If people knew that their Prince skived off responsibilities to play hooky with his ‘mortal pet’ as some called her, she would only face more shit on a day to day basis. 
“What is it? Tell me.” All the playfulness had vanished and he looked quite serious, so she decided to be out with it instead of mincing her words. 
“Could you possibly drop me off on Earth?” 
“Is everything alright?” 
“Yeah, I just- I think I like Earth dresses better…” 
“Is the fine hand-spun silk of Asgard not good for my lady?” 
“I think I will be more comfortable in Earth dresses.”
“I would take you to Midgard right now, but there are better solutions than traveling lightyears away to buy a dress. You could give all your requirements to to the seamstresses and they will make you a dress.”
“We don’t really work well together.” 
“That should not be a problem since you do not work together, she is supposed to work for you. Something unpleasant must have happened for you to react this way.” Shit. There was no way she could keep it from him now. 
“I don’t want to talk about it.”
“I shall find out on my own,” he said as he gently moved her head off his lap and set in on a cushion. Before he could leave, she caught him by his wrist. She was in no way strong enough to stop a God, but he respected her enough to stay.  
“No! Please don’t, Loki. They already infantilize me enough. If you go there, inquiring about who pushed me in the playground, they will only continue treating me like a child. So, don’t intervene.” 
He turned to her sharply and pried her hand off his wrist. His eyebrows were furrowed and his eyes showed hints of confusion and anger. “They have been infantilising you? Today was only your first appointment with the seamstresses… So, it is not just them, is it?” 
She stood up to be on level with Loki.  “Everyone, Loki. Someone called me your Midgardian pet. My first night here, an old lady mocked my tiny portion size at dinner. Just yesterday, the woman who dressed tried to give me advice and how you liked it- in bed- and she tried to get me to use some hair product she claimed drove you mad. The seamstress today- Synnøve, yanked me by the dress and basically went ‘Oopsie, I keep forgetting you’re so fragile and breakable’- I need a break from being an alien. Just, please take me home for a while.” 
“Astrid, why is this the first time I am hearing of this?” She had not expected the conversation to take such a serious turn. But, she didn't know what she expected in the first place. 
“I didn’t want to complain to you like a child!” 
He gripped her arms in her effort to bring her closer to him. She let him and even allowed herself to settle into his comforting embrace as he spoke to her, his harsh tone being replaced by a gentle one. “You may have different expectations from your subordinates back on Midgard, but here on Asgard, you are a Prince’s Consort and will be treated as such. If you do not set them straight now and demand the respect you are entitled to with your title, you will forever be humiliated in your own home. Is that what you want?” 
She separated herself from the comfort of listening to his heart beat and looked up at him. “I understand all that. I just don’t want to stir up anything. I don’t want to get a bad reputation so early on- that I’m rude or difficult or bossy.” 
“You mentioned that on Earth, there is a double standard in the judgement of women’s behaviour when compared to men. You are at a similar disadvantage here. They will speak horribly of you no matter what. You will be criticised for every breath you take, every move you make. You learn have to ignore them and when necessary, exert your authority over them.” 
She shook her head in disagreement. “I’m not married to you yet, I have no authority.” 
“Do you believe everything will fall apart before the ceremony and we may not be married?” 
She didn't have to answer him. 
“I will ask my Chief of Staff to bring you a list of the best designers in all of the nine realms. You could interview them tomorrow and choose a team of your favourite ones.” 
“That’s…” 
“Wonderful.” 
“-too much.” 
“I disagree. I think it is the appropriate thing to do.” 
“Thank you,” she said as she let go of him. 
“Now, I will ask for the portfolios to be brought for you to pick the best of the best.” 
“You do that, I have something to do.” 
Loki magicked the ugly dress back onto her as it was hardly appropriate for her to walk out in booty shorts and she left determinedly to face the woman she had run away from. 
The woman looked at her mockingly as she entered the fitting room, carrying her high heels rather than walking in them. She eyed the crumpled state of her dress and Astrid was sure that she believed she had just had sex in it. She climbed up the platform and stood in front of the mirror. 
“The Prince does like to have his pets at his beck and call,” she said in a saccharine, sing-song voice as she stood approached the dais to continue working. Her long spindly fingers began loosening the ribbons of the corseted dress.
“Does he, Synnøve? Thank you very much for informing me. You see, I am new here and not acquainted with the norms of the palace or the people here. However, I am certain that insinuating crudely about the Prince and his Consort is punishable.” 
Astrid could tell that she was taken aback by her as she noticed that a flash of panic crossed her eyes right before her hands stopped abruptly. As though unaffected by it, she continued unlacing the dress. They spent what felt like hours in an awkward silence as she freed Astrid from her tulle prison. She was glad that Loki magic these dresses off of her in seconds or she would spend years unlacing them manually. Even if he couldn’t use magic for the purpose, she was sure that the man would rip them off to get to her quickly. 
“Which dress would you like to try on next, Lady Astrid?” All hints of superiority and mockery had fled the woman. She looked constipated like the act of being civil to a Midgardian was physically painful. 
“That wouldn’t be necessary. I would like my dress back.” 
“So, this is the silhouette you would like,” she asked, confused by the lack of clarity in her words. 
“No, it’s quite hideous. I’d just like my dress back so that I can leave.” 
“Shall we continue tomorrow?” 
“No, the Prince believed it was only appropriate for me to choose a worthy designer rather than be assigned to a random seamstress.” 
“Oh.” All light had left her eyes now and Astrid swore that she saw the woman gulp. There were no protests from her and she was just relieved to be rid of the seamstress. 
As she stood in front of the mirror, being laced into the dress she wore to the fitting at the beginning of the day, she felt a little more confident in her ability to deal with people here. She may never fit in, never be seen as a fit bride for their Prince, but she wasn’t going to allow them to bully her into submission.

The Universe Within
James smiles in satisfaction as he looks out of the viewpoint, admiring the stars spread out in front of him. Almost 50 years of doing it and the views still take him by surprise and make him breathless. 
He can't believe how lucky he is. 
From the HYDRA'S attack dog to a general of an intergalactic army, of scientist and peacekeepers… James knows that he lucked out, that things worked out. 
He knows it every day when he arrives on the Bridge and sees his crew and the whole universe in front of them. He knows that probably nothing will ever compare. 
“General? I have news,” his Commander says, her tail lashing anxiously. 
Kait’aar always had an issue with keeping her emotions in check, but she's also always been efficient. She only becomes more and more efficient as the years come by. 
“Yeah?” he asks, straightening in his spot. 
“You asked to be notified whenever a Stone is being used,” she explains. James sits up straight. 
“Where?”
Infinity Stones are never a good thing. They're powerful and in the wrong hands, they can bring devastation to the whole universe. Bucky has been keeping track of them for years now, and he knows that a few of them are missing. 
Now it seems like they're back. 
“Earth, sir,” Kait’aar says, voice grave. 
“Fuck,” he mutters. His Commander only watches in silence, more than aware of what's happening. “Set the course to Terra, avoid all and any hypersphere tunnels, use jumps. I want this quiet,” James orders quickly, standing up. 
“Yes, sir.”
With that, he's left alone in his office and the stars suddenly look too bright. 
“You are worried,” comes the calm voice of HAL.
James snorts. “Yeah, thanks, Einstein. I'm glad to know that one of the universe’s most advanced AI is so observant.”
HAL’s silence is actually very telling. James sighs deeply and leans against the viewport. 
“The Stones bring nothing but pain and destruction, no matter in whose hands,” he finally says. “Earth isn’t ready for any of that. I’m not even talking about the Stones, but about who will follow them. Any alien civilisation, anyone advanced enough…”
He falls silent and stares out into the universe again. He knows more than anyone just how dangerous those people can be, how easy it is to die out there. He knows the power behind some of the planets, the destruction some leaders can bring. He knows that Earth isn’t ready.
“They dodged a bullet with the whole Skrull/Kree thing, and only because Carol was there,” James mutters, smiling softly. Carol is definitely one of the kind. One of the strongest people he knows, and one hell of a friend. “She’s not there right now, she’s on the other side of the universe, and my home is basically helpless!”
“I suspect that Fury did find people to protect Earth, after Colonel Danvers left,” HAL observes calmly.
“Yeah… But how good they are?” James asks, not really expecting an answer. HAL knows better than to say anything now. “How will they hold against a threat this massive? Do they even know the scale of things?”
“Probably not,” HAL says dryly. “That’s why we’re on our way there.”
Bucky smirks and rolls his shoulders. “Damn right,” he says firmly. “We’re good at the whole saving planets shit, we can do it.”
“You also miss home.”
“Home is where the heart is, baby boy,” James laughs. The stars shine very brightly today. “And my heart is right there, amongst the stars.”
It still is nice to see Earth come into existence once again when Event Horizon arrives close enough. James stares straight at it, standing on the Bridge, and his crew works tirelessly to keep everything up to date. He can see the giant ships waiting just beyond what’s visible from the surface, can see the amount of sheer power that’s about to be brought onto his home.
He’s not happy about it.
“Keep monitoring,” he orders sharply. “If they try something, close the tunnels and keep them there. Unload everything you have if they fire.”
His crew nods and HAL pulls up a communication channel with the rest of Federation Generals. His friends, also stationed on warships.
“I may need help,” James says once they come into view. “I have a bad feeling about what’s happening on Earth and I need backup probably.”
“Federation won’t allow it,” Pho’el says grimly.
James allows himself a dark smile. “I’m not asking for permission. I’m saying that I need help from my friends.”
“See you on Terra,” Chia says and everything goes dark. James loves his friends so much.
“Good luck, sir,” Kait’aar suddenly speaks up. James turns around and smiles at his crew, people who he would die for, no questions asked. His family.
“Thanks,” he replies dryly, walking out. “You have the comm.”
James walks to his ship, Hadron, in silence, his armour constructing around him. HAL comes alive in front of his eyes as the mask slips into place and everything lights up blue. “Let’s do it,” he mutters, sliding into the pilot seat.
Hadron leaves Event Horizon as a streak of speed, entering Earth’s atmosphere easily, and James pulls up the first news channel that comes alive. New York is under attack and he can vaguely see some heroes dressed in weird suits. At least there's some defence.
“The Stone’s energy is pointing towards what’s called Stark Tower,” HAL announces, pulling up maps. James nods.
“Anyone we know?”
“Looks like Loki is already there.”
James only snarls. Looks like Loki did not actually die, not that it’s surprising, but that man is nothing but trouble. Chaos follows whenever its god goes.
Hadron remains invisible when he enters the battle, expertly avoiding any stray bullets, and he lands on the roof of where the issue is. Looks like Thor is already handling Loki, so James looks around and then lights up.
Energy surges through his veins and he allows himself to raise into the air, throwing himself into the battle. HAL is a constant voice in his ear, just as always, and together they clear what they can, catching any big pieces that threaten to crush civilians. James allows the battle to light up his core, boiling in his heart.
“Sir, there’s a projectile heading towards our location,” HAL suddenly says, pointing towards a bomb that’s flying straight at New York.
“Well, Mr Fury, Carol will be disappointed,” James mutters and then surges after it. 
A guy in gold and red suits gets to it first, and James watches as he takes the bomb into the portal, ready to face death.
“Oh hell no,” he snarls and follows.
It’s easy to destroy everything in his path, shooting at whatever comes close, clearing the air around him as he chases the stupid brave human into the portal.
“Sir, they’re ready to fire,” Kait’aar speaks up, voice grim.
James looks at the insane human above him, carrying the bomb into space and smirks. “Full power. Fire on my command.”
With that, he finally catches up with the brave human, grabs the bomb with one arm and turns to face him. The light in the suit is slowly dying down and HAL informs him that life support is failing, so James reaches out with his free hand and allows the nanites to flow into the other amour.
“My turn to be the hero, doll,” James laughs and launches the bomb at the ship towering over them. “Fire.”
Together, they watch as the ships go up in flames, surrounded by Federation warships, exploding in fury of colours. James lets the warmth wash over him and lazily salutes at Event Horizon.
The red man is watching him in silence, amour lighting up with James’s own nanites, keeping him alive and safe.
“Ready to go home now?” he asks lightly through the channel the nanites created.
“Sure,” the man replies, voice scratchy and rough, sending a shiver down James’s spine. “After you tell me who the hell are you!”
James laughs and glances down at the closing portal. “Later,” he winks and launches himself at the human.
They fall together, tendrils of power running around them until they pass through the portal. There, James grabs the human in a bride carry and sets them down slowly in the circle of heroes.
The human’s mask falls open and James stares down at brown eyes alight with the power of thousand suns. He swallows and smiles shakily, still keeping the human close.
If his heart is among the stars, it’s no wonder he feels it stir at the sight of the universe in the man’s eyes.

Predator to Prey, Chapter 14
Akelia disappearing in her wolf form in the evening became a regular occurrence most nights for the following week or two.
Loki had asked her numerous times where she went, she responded with the same every time that she just went for a run. To keep her stamina up. She didn’t want her wolf form to lessen in strength. Which he could understand.
But he was still confused as to why it was always that time of a day she would disappear.
Something else he found weird, was that he hadn’t had a sacrifice come to him either. He assumed maybe they’d ran out of willing volunteers and given up. Realising that he wasn’t actually going to do anything to their village.
Though one day, it was early afternoon, Loki and Akelia were in bed. Loki had just fucked her into next week, she knew she couldn’t move even if she wanted to as she lay passed out on the bed, flat on her stomach. Loki was lying on his side, trailing his fingers around her back.
Loki was surprised himself with how easily he had fallen into this life with Akelia. He’d never thought about sharing his life with anyone, aside from the wolf when she came along. But a human? No… Though it felt so right. They were both highly into the same activities when it came to sex, which was a huge plus.
And he also enjoyed the times she did join him hunting in her wolf form. Because together they were a bloody good team. He often wondered how it would have panned out if she had been on Asgard with him when he was a warrior prince, helping to fight and defend Asgard.
Akelia was smart, too. For a mortal. He was able to have plenty of intelligent conversations with her. She’d been through a lot, but had also seen and learned a lot, too.
Loki sighed in contentment as he slid his fingers down her spine, she was sleeping soundly. He closed his eyes and was about to join her in having a nap but he suddenly sensed someone outside. Being careful not to disturb Akelia, he slid out of bed and made haste to see who was there.
Summoning his armour and daggers as he reached the window, he growled in annoyance. It was men from the village, again. Just two of them this time. They were armed, but it didn’t look like they were looking for a fight.
Either way, he was always ready to attack.
With his skin turning blue, he went outside to greet the village men.
‘I’ve warned you all a thousand times. Get OUT of my home!’ Loki roared, poised to attack.
But to his surprise, one of the men put his hands up, showing that he wasn’t holding a weapon. The gun was in a holster on his waist. It was the same with the other man.
‘We don’t want to cause any trouble.’ The first man spoke as calmly as possible, though Loki could hear the fear in his voice. ‘Our girls… We just want them back.’
Loki frowned and turned his head slightly. ‘What do you mean?’
‘The girls… That we sent you. The last eight have not returned.’ The second man said shakily.
Loki took a few steps closer towards them, looking incredibly menacing. ‘You’ve not sent me any in two weeks.’ He barked.
‘We… We did… They’ve not returned… though…’ He started shaking and reached for his gun, Loki noticed.
Loki quickly shot some ice at his hand and froze it in a cube. He did the same to the other man’s hands.
‘I have not been sent any girls in the last fortnight. So, I suggest you both get off my land before I make it that you shall not return to the village either.’ He snarled.
The two men took that chance and made a run for it, getting off lucky with just having their hands frozen. It would thaw… Eventually… Maybe.
Loki watched them scarper and felt a rush of adrenaline through him at the fear he put into them. He smirked to himself and went back inside, turning back to his normal form. When he got into the bedroom, Akelia was still snoozing but was now on her back. The blanket was down around her hips, leaving her luscious breasts on display for him.
He licked his lips and stalked to the bottom of the bed, he grabbed the blanket and slowly pulled it down, revealing more of her beautiful form. She woke up and blinked a few times, looking down at him.
‘What are you doing?’ She asked, sleepily.
‘You.’ He replied with as he crawled on the bed and up over her, a dagger still in hand that she never noticed.
He loomed over her, keeping her down with just his presence above her. His armour made him look even larger. She swallowed hard, feeling the wetness starting to form between her legs again.
Loki leaned down, smirking. He pressed a kiss to her lips and distracted her momentarily with his tongue slipping into her mouth. But then she felt the cold of the blade from his dagger pressing against her neck, making her gasp.
‘What have you been up to, my darling pet?’ He growled, sliding his other hand down between her legs. He pinched her thighs, making her yelp and spread them further apart.
‘Sleeping… What were you doing?’ She asked, looking up at him so innocently.
‘Don’t play coy with me, pet. I know you’ve been up to something.’ He cupped her cunt with his large hand, taking his time. ‘Most nights you disappear at the same time. But she promised she wouldn’t, using the card that she would have nowhere to go anyway. Which he knew was true. And he knew deep down she wouldn’t leave him. She was far too clingy for that, he had discovered over the weeks.
So Loki found himself following Akelia wolf through the forest, in the direction of the village. He was growing more and more suspicious as they went. But she led him slightly off path, through some thicker trees and down towards the burn.
She followed the burn for a little while, then turned off at a large rock. It was just a few metres further and she stopped, looking down into a large ditch.
Loki stopped beside her and followed her gaze as she sat down, licking her paws. Loki’s eyes widened when he looked down.
There in the ditch was a pile of girl’s bodies, eight to be precise, lying there. Various injuries to each of them, but all fatal.
Loki put his hands on his hips and shook his head. He looked briefly at Akelia, who didn’t look regretful at all with her actions.
‘Well…’ He sighed. ‘This explains a lot.’

You knew something was up with Thor ever since Asgard got destroyed. He blew you off every chance he could get, constantly telling you something had come up or that he had bigger things to attend to. Sure, ruling the now-adrift Asgard was no small feat, especially when there was no planet and everyone had lost hope, but you were on a giant spaceship - where could be always be running off to? You understood how he must be feeling, with his father now gone and his evil sister and all of that, but you wanted to comfort him, to tell him he wasn’t alone and that you were there for him.
You didn’t want to confront him about it, though, he had dealt with so much these past few weeks and you knew that the toll on him was insane, but you hadn’t even seen the guy since your home planet got blown to bits. He was your best friend, you’d figure he’d come check that you were alright, no? It was selfish, sure, but the two of you were always there for each other, no matter how big the situation.
Loki tried his best to reassure you that Thor was just upset about everything in general and that it had nothing to do with you specifically, but you were the only person who could see right through the God of Mischief. Loki had a deceptive way of lying and you knew it well enough, having practically grown up with the trickster. Thor’s avoidance of your presence had set a gaping hole in your chest and you missed the man dearly, and knowing that Loki was lying to you about him really didn’t help ease your mind.
“Y/N, I’m telling you, he’s fine,” Loki tried to reason with you, “He’s been so busy trying to figure out where we’re going that even I’ve barely seen him.”
You scoffed, ignoring him as you continued your pace to the King’s chambers, “Loki, he’s my best friend, I haven’t seen him in weeks, something has to be up.”
You knew that bursting into Thor’s chambers was probably the last thing you should do if he was currently dealing with immense stress and he may or may not be upset at you over something, but the wait for him to come around was killing you. He didn’t seem like he was going to do it anytime soon.
“Alright, but if he snaps at you, don’t say I didn’t warn you,” Loki raised his hands in surrender as you stopped in front of Thor’s door. Your heart felt like it was lodged in your throat and you suddenly regretted being here. Part of you was saying just run away and let Thor deal with everything in peace, but the other part of you just wanted to see your best friend.
Before you could register what you wanted to do, the door swung open and a disheveled looking Thor stood on the other side. You eyed him from head to toe as he froze, clearly shocked to see you here. You scanned his body, his usual attire having changed quite a bit. His armour seemed much larger than you remember it, and his red cloak was very clearly worn down. Everything else looked normal on him, but your attention quickly snapped up to his face. One, his hair was much shorter than last time you saw it, and two, his left eye was now covered with an eyepatch. 
“Thor…” You mumbled, eyeing the wound on his face. Where his left eye used to be, scratches were now in their place, a dark sunken hole underneath the patch. When his mind caught up to him and he realized you were there, he tried to slam the door in your face, but you were quicker, shoving your foot in between the door and the frame to keep it open.
“Don’t shut me out again, Thor,” you pushed the door open with force, “I haven’t seen you in weeks. Weeks.”
You could see a multitude of emotions flashing across his features, but he stayed silent, almost angry. You’d never faced Thor’s wrath, but you had seen the way he had treated people when he was angry - which was rare. He always wanted to see the best in people, to give them a chance, and that’s one of the many reasons you were slowly falling for your best friend.
“Talk to me, Thor-”
“Why are you here?” His voice was harsh, making you jump slightly. You hadn’t expected him to actually be mad at you.
“What?” Your voice shook slightly but you coughed to even it out, “What do you mean? I wanted to make sure you were okay.”
He scoffed, leaning against the wall behind him as he crossed his large arms across his chest, “I’m fine, I’ve been busy, Y/N.”
You rolled your eyes, “Clearly. C’mon, Thor, we were best buds, we've been together through everything, just - what’s up? Why are you so distant?” He started walking towards the door to leave but you stood in front of him, preventing him from going anywhere.
“I’m King now, Y/N,” he seemed annoyed, “I have bigger responsibilities, you know?”
You looked at him with a pissed off expression, “What happened to your eye?” Something flashed across his face and you could see his jaw clench, and you knew that there was something he wasn’t telling you. You knew Thor well enough to tell when he’s mad or when he’s just bothered, and right now, you weren’t feeling either of those.
“Thor, what happened?” You placed your hand lightly under his chin, some sort of confidence taking over your body, “Tell me, please.”
You could hear him sigh, slightly leaning into your touch, “Hela.” Your heart broke for him - you knew he had a rough time dealing with Hela for obvious reasons, but you didn’t know he had taken permanent damage to his eye.
“Is this why you’ve been distant?” You asked, bringing your fingers up to trace the scars on his face, his eyelid fluttering slightly, “Because of what she did to you?”
You could feel his body relax under your touch and you knew you were correct. He was insecure. He had dealt with many insecurities before, always worried about what he was going to turn out to be, but this felt different. 
“Here, come sit,” you motioned your head to the seats in the corner of the room and walked over, him following right behind. You sat down and took his hands in yours, looking him dead in the eye, “Thor, you have nothing to be ashamed of when it comes to that.”
He shook his head, “Nothing to be ashamed of? I couldn’t beat her, she destroyed Asgard and now, I have no eye.”
You rubbed small circles on the backs of his hands to soothe him, “No, Thor, when it comes to what people will think of you. I know you, you’ve always been so worried about everyone’s opinions and I know that this makes you think people doubt your ability to be a king, to lead us, but it’s not. You’re so strong, Thor, and this proves that. Please, don’t hide away from us, from me.”
You could see him relax at your words, leaning back into his chair as he looked down at your intertwined hands, smiling slightly.
“You really mean that?” He asked softly and you smiled at him, nodding.
“Of course I do.”
He broke out into a shy smile, “I’m really lucky to have you.” You had wished there was hidden meaning behind his words, that he felt the same way you did, but you knew there wasn’t a chance. 
You grinned, playing it off like his words didn’t make your heart flutter, “Damn right, thunder boy.”
He seemed to feel better and that was all you wanted. Seeing the smile on his face brought one to yours, happy that he had finally come to his senses. He held his eye contact with you, his gaze making your breath catch in your throat.
“Um, sorry I’ve been distant, I just-” he took a deep breath, “Your opinion of me is the most important and I didn’t want to falter what you thought of me.”
Your expression softened, looking to him with a small smile on your face, “My opinion of you will never change, Thor. You’re the strongest, most caring, generous person I know,” you sincerely stated, “I wouldn’t want anyone else as my King.”
You could see his cheeks turn slightly pink at your words, his head hanging low as he smiled at the ground before turning up to face you. Before you could really process what happened, he placed a light kiss on your lips, pulling away with his eyes wide. Your heart nearly stopped, the light tingle on your lips being a reminder of what had just happened. You wanted to pinch yourself.
“I’m - I’m sorry,” he mumbled, scanning over your features to see how you were reacting. 
“Why?” You asked, voice cracking slightly, giving you away.
He shook his head, running his hands through his now short hair, “I - I don’t know, your words were so nice and I have this feeling for you and I just - It felt right.”
If you were breathing before, you sure as hell weren’t now. You couldn’t believe what was happening. 
“It did feel right,” you mumbled, eyes locked on his as your heart continued stuttering it’s beats. 
Thor flashed you a dazzling smile, pulling your lips to meet his once again. You melted into it, letting the feeling of his touch consume your entire body as you fell victim to his kiss. His hand came to cup your cheek as he pulled you in for a deeper kiss, emotions running absolutely wild. 
“This is not what I expected to happen,” Loki’s voice making you jump away from Thor’s kiss, embarrassment taking over your entire body, replacing the warmth of his touch.
“Loki, you fool,” Thor’s voice was raspy, “How long have you been standing there?”
Loki smirked as he looked between you two, and if you could sink back into your seat any further, you would. Of course the God of Mischief had to ruin your kiss with Thor. Loki smirked, placing his hands behind his back as he made his way out of the room.
“Long enough for you two idiots to confess your feelings!” You turned to Thor who glared at his brother’s retreating figure before turning back to you, pulling your face to his once again.

So Loki found himself following Akelia wolf through the forest, in the direction of the village. He was growing more and more suspicious as they went. But she led him slightly off path, through some thicker trees and down towards the burn.
She followed the burn for a little while, then turned off at a large rock. It was just a few metres further and she stopped, looking down into a large ditch.
Loki stopped beside her and followed her gaze as she sat down, licking her paws. Loki’s eyes widened when he looked down.
There in the ditch was a pile of girl’s bodies, eight to be precise, lying there. Various injuries to each of them, but all fatal.
Loki put his hands on his hips and shook his head. He looked briefly at Akelia, who didn’t look regretful at all with her actions.
‘Well…’ He sighed. ‘This explains a lot.’

Peter Parker [scratching his neck nervously]: Hum, not really… it’s more about vocabulary and speed…
 ~ The three men exit the room, all of them suddenly pretending to remember some kind of urgent affair ~
 Shuri [taking him in a supportive embrace]: Aw, don’t be sad, Pete : I’m interested ! So let’s play together, yeah?
Loki [closing his book]: Your friend is right, Spiderchild. Forget about those brutes, they wouldn’t have achieved anything but destroying this place at the first argue anyway…

Stephen Strange [making a surprisingly human and non-supernatural entry]: Then, may I offer my participation?

Peter Parker: Okay, So let’s begin with the rules!

These ones are defined by the players before the party starts. For the first player who finishes his list, there’s one bonus point. Peter Parker [shrugging] : Well, it’s a bit original, although not unexpected. Next step : Mister Loki, can you read alphabet in your mind and give me a letter when I tell you to stop ?
Loki : Sure, child, but which alphabet do you want me to use ? Asgardian’s or Midgardian’s? In the second case : latin, hebraic, manda- ?
Shuri [throwing a tired glance towards the Asgardian] : Don’t mind it, I will do it!
Peter Parker : Huh, thanks Shu ! So………….. Stop!

Stephen Strange [brows furrowing] : Hum, well, it promises to be entertaining.
Loki [smirking devilishly] : Already admitting your defeat, Strange ?

Loki [shrugging] : Then give me a definition of what is a “domestic pet” according to your standards…
Peter Parker : Hum, well, to start that’s a living being with whom you have created a special and profound bond. It’s a proof of affection, even if it can be overwhelming sometimes…

Loki [an ounce of worry in the voice] : Thor, you oaf, what’s that red mark on your armour ? Have you let yourself be hurt? Again?!
Thor : Oh! This? Don’t worry for that little scratch, Loki : it takes more than that to kill me ! [gently ruffling his hair and taking him in a warm strong suffocating embrace] And what about you? How have your day been so far?

Thor [now panicked] : Come on, lillebror, tell me!
Loki [nearly crying and pointing an accusing finger towards a perplex Doctor Strange] : H-He called me a m-monster!
Thor [roaring] : He what!?!
Stephen Strange [too but incredulous] : I what!?!
Loki [now almost crying] : A-And he menaced me with his fa-falling portals too!
Thor [fulminating] : Strange, how dare you?!
Stephen [holding his hand in surrender] : Thor, please, let me explain ! I’ve used those words, but it was not in this con- !
Thor [battle’s death mode : on] : Your magic won’t save you from the wrath of a god! Mine!!
 ~ If one of the other Avengers would have entered the room right now, he would have surely wondered why on Earth an ancient blond god was chasing after a mystic Art’s sorcerer with a hammer and all lightning’s effects, screaming “Get back here and face your fate, wizard!!” ~
 Loki [rising an eyebrow in expectation] : So… Does it mean I won?
Peter Parker [eyes glued to the scene] : Protect when the danger arises : checked.
Shuri : I still maintain that he putted the danger above the Doctor’s head…
Loki [grinning maniacally] : Double-win for me then.
