Kinzo: -1/10. Hitting a blunt is what killed him

Krauss: 4/10. While I do think he initially would be against any kind of marijuana usage by virtue of being a conservative dude in the 80s, I'm almost positive I could convince him that growing it in the mansion's boiler room is a solid investment

Natsuhi: 0/10. As far as she's aware weed is basically the same thing as cocaine and will kill you, if you brought it near her I think she might actually pass out. However, out of everyone here I think she would benefit the most from an edible

Jessica: 9/10. If this series was set in the current day she would be hiding a vape pen from her parents and teaching Kanon how to hit in the rose garden. She gets a point taken off because she doesn't know that holding it in doesn't do anything

Eva: 6/10. Hates smoking overall, so you can't actually smoke near her without getting yelled at. Though she wouldn't snitch on you, technically, that's only because she fully intends on using it for blackmail later

Hideyoshi: 7/10. He did some sketchy business deals during the war, I'm pretty sure he's got a don't ask don't tell policy (not including Eva, she knows everything). Knocked down three points for the indirect blackmail.

George: 3/10. He's definitely a narc, but that's only because he was trying to rebel sometime in HS and went to a rotation but got laughed at for rolling the saddest, most pathetic looking joint of all time. He has a vendetta now

Rudolf: 6/10. Would probably smoke if it were modern day and isn't one to snitch but his weed etiquette is so bad that I need to knock him down a peg on principle

Kyrie: 7/10. She's the dealer. Points knocked off because she keeps cutting it with cheap shit because she knows her buyers (including her husband) are kinda dumb

Battler: 8/10. Would never snitch but loses a few points because he's bad at it. See below:

Rosa: ???/10. Feels like she'd snitch but also gives me the impression of someone who's tried cocaine before so I think her thoughts on the subject are pretty mood dependent. I don't trust her though.

Maria: 10/10. She didn't snitch on Beatrice and we all know what was in that pipe

Humanity is obviously a central theme to DMC, but I have yet to see anyone mention how every single character within DMC is connected to each other with loss. I'd love to see a fanfic or even simple headcanons explore two or more characters' bonds over shared loss, especially ones that seem a bit odd.

Please, I beg to see Dante and Nico interact and see bits of Nell in each other. You guys, Nico and Trish bonding over demonology and devil arms, especially angus's research.

Idk how, but bring in Beryl. Have her relate to Lady over the overlaps and differences between their families. Beryl's dad went insane and died after possessing demonic power in an attempt to revive his late wife. While arkham killed his wife to possess demonic power and went insane and died. Not only that, they're both human devil hunters and have cool big ass guns.

(Ik Trish and Lucia dont out right lose family like most of the cast, but they still do experience loss. For Trish, it's her home and everything she knew until she left with Dante. In Deadly Fortunes, it's stated that she dedicates a lot of time to studying devil arms and demonology because she misses the underworld. For Lucia, she doesn't lose anyone, but she does have a loss of self after finding out she's a demon. Yall its a bit insane but parallels between Kyrie, Lucia and Trish with all of them having their worldview shattered. )

• Dante and Vergil are the type of twins that when they are close by, are touching in any way possible. Sitting together? Dante is leaning on Vergil. Standing together? Vergil has his arm resting on Dantes shoulder. Walking together? They keep bashing into eachothers side. They can spend time apart (obviously) but when they are close there is always some form of contact.

• Nero felt phantom pains where his hand used to be, but when his arm grew back they kind of just became ordinary pains. He wasn't sure if it was a side affect of growing a whole ass arm back or something but he was happy when they went away.

• I kind of think Kyrie would have depression. I mean she went through a lot and lost her parents and brother but she lived, so I feel like she would have survivors guilt but due to constantly being busy she wouldn't really have the time to process it. It's a sad headcannon but I feel like it just seems right :(((

• On a bit of a lighter note, I feel like Kyrie would have a good support system though. I mean she has Nero obviously, but also I think she would have Lady, Trish and Dante there for her and eventually Vergil too.

• Talking about Trish, Lady and Dante. I feel like Lady and Trish would go shopping Bayonetta 2 style, and have Dante carry all their stuff around. (He gets compensated for his work when they stop at a Cafe and he gets a parfait, although he doesnt mind helping his friends)

• Nero has a huge sweet tooth, but because of the kids, he can't keep anything to satisfy his need for sugar around long enough. Vergil likes to buy him sweet stuff though as a form of peace offering. He's found Nero likes Lemon Sherbets, Sour patch kids, and controversially, Liquorice.

• Vergil likes Hotpot and Shabu Shabu. I don't know, I just feel this in my soul.

• Dante is jealous that Vergil gets a tail and he doesn't. Vergil is jealous Dante's horns are fancier than his. They are both content with the wings that they have. (Also vergil has long skinny fangs with sharp teeth and Dante has wider, stubbier (but still as equally sharp) fangs with more "human" teeth)

Baking with the DMC V boys

This is my first time trying to make these headcanon type posts, be nice pls.

Content: Romantic/platonic dante x G/N reader, vergil x reader, nero x reader ...? Cause any scenario here can be taken in any way, relationship or friendship (cause what if ur aro/ace but still wanna do fun shi with your favs?)

Dante

Wants to lick the batter off the whisk, but you gotta stop him. The remnants in the bowl is free game, however

Insists on winging the recipe, says you gotta "feel" it

FLOUR FIGHT! Your peaceful baking session descends into chaos. You both end up covered in flour while the cake is in the oven

Despite him being good with his hands his cake decorating skills kinda suck ass

Its okay though, since you both tried your best and had fun, even if the cake looks like doodoo. It tastes good however... so it wasnt a waste after all

Hes a notorious frosting licker, you have to swat him off the cake like a fly.

If you bake something a pastry instead hes gonna poke the dough.

(Romance:) will lick the frosting/batter off of your hand or face if you get any of it on you while mixing.

Vergil

Im not gonna lie here, he miiight turn it into a bit of a contest.

His perfectionistic nature will push him to ultra tryhard it, even if it is just a dessert or pastry. He'll check the recipe constantly and will be careful about each detail (or at least try)

You remind him that you two are baking for fun and he calms down a bit, but he will still act as if hes competing in the great british bakeoff or some shit

Insists on frosting the cake for you, but only so he can show off how steady his hands are. (Even if he screws it up)

The cake ends up being too pretty to eat

Wants to try harder pastries and desserts, usually something fancy like a mille fueille

That doesnt mean you two will always succeed however, Vergil just likes to push his limits even if he fails.

He'll give you a warm smile as you two finish the thing youre baking. At least hes not so tense anymore...

(Romance:) he'll feed you a piece of whatever you two baked together, looking into your eyes and watching for your reaction, then kisses you to have a taste but go back to being his stonefaced grumpy self later like nothing happened.

Nero

Overmixes the batter because hes tense

Kinda scatterbrained, will forget to preheat the oven sometimes

Hes actually more tolerable to bake with than his dad or uncle, less tense and also less chaotic

He'll let you take the lead for this one, just tell him what to do or get and he'll go right on ahead.

Hes actually not so tense anymore, considering baking is a relaxing activity.

Will leave the decorating to you, hes not very good at it.

(Platonic:) insists on leaving some for kyrie, aint no way he wont give her any

(Romantic:) will always leave some for you, no matter how good it tastes.

You two wont be making anything too complex but whatever comes out of it tastes great and his presence will make baking feel like a wholesome activity.

You two tell stories to each other and get a bit distracted.

Why Nero Devilmaycry is Asexual

It's a headcanon, but turns out I had a lot of evidence. And even if I didn't I like when I have characters I can relate to with this one thing about myself, so nothing you could say would stop me. Still. Hear me out now. If you’re open to reading this post, then let me tell you, I think it very well holds up in canon.

As a start, look how he acts when he sees the sexy demonic lures from that frog demon in DMC4:

His reaction to the demons is to notice they’re causing a stinky storm which is probabbly hiding something, and he kills them. That’s it. Not even a fucking comment. In fact he even seems a bit avoidant.

Now compare it with Dante’s scene.

He knew they were in fact lures for a giant evil smelly frog, and yet he joins in the game and acts all flirtatious, actually acknowledging that he’s being faced with two sexy naked ladies.

Another evidence is Nero’s immediate reaction to seeing Gloria. Which I don’t even think needs any comments. Just

He can’t even look directly at her. He’s so uncomfortable help him.

Of course one might argue that all of that is because he’s in love with Kyrie. And I totally agree, he is in love! He’s asexual but not aromantic, and he loves her. But being in love with someone - and considering they weren’t together yet - doesn’t mean shutting down all interest and attraction to other people. Since he doesn’t show that attraction in the slightest, I think it’s cause it’s not there to begin with.

(On that note, it's nothing big but Nero is in love with Kyrie, one of the few female characters whose clothes cover her up. She’s a lot more modest/non sexualized when compared to Lady or Trish.)

But that was DMC 4. What about how he's like in the next game?

What I’d say from this game, is that Nero is ace, but he’s not out to Nico. And I can understand why, because Nico’s dirty jokes are like, Her Brand when it comes to humour. Dante would love chatting with her. Nero, however, does not. 

I mean, a dirty joke was her first reaction when Nero tried to tell Kyrie he grew back a whole arm

Whenever innuendos happen in this game towards Nero, it’s been because of Nico. Look at what she wrote in her diary, when she gave Lady her clothes after Nero rescued her.

Even though Nero himself during that scene was focused on her wellbeing and asking about his friends, nothing else (…actually, in that scene V was the one who made the comment about Lady’s appearance. V, who is Vergil, and the only other time they ever met was when they were a bunch of teenagers trying to kill each other, and uh. Awkward).

And since we brought this up, when Lady was rescued from inside of the Artemis demon, she was completely naked, but Nero?? Payed no attention to that?? He only looked at her face, and was mainly concerned with her safety and with the fact she was Dante’s friend, not about her body. She could have been fully clothed and there would be no difference. 

It took Nico’s little comment for him to realize that “wait, she’s naked, wait, I have a girlfriend”, I mean. He goes “what?” and it takes him three full seconds to remember that, complete with a face journey:

Like, it’s just my humble opinion but if someone forgets that carrying a beautiful nude stranger in your arms miiight be kind of erotic, maybe sexuality just doesn’t occupy that person’s mind for most the time in the first place.

And holy shit, speaking of Kyrie, Nico seems rather interested in their sex life. She literally built an arm for Nero with the purpose to make sex more comfortable for them. And he did not ask her to build it, because she never tells him what she’s making beforehand, and by her comments it was supposed to be a surprise anyways. He ends up using it for healing.

Complete with that sexy joke she makes when Kyrie called him in the end, and the reaction she got, I conclude the following: yeah Nero is still ace as heck, he just hasn't come out to her yet. I get him, he doesn’t know her for that long, and I have that kind of friend too.

And just as a final point, just take a look at the main characters in this series! They all have shown a rather sexual side (specially in DMC4 which is by far the horniest game of this series). There’s Dante with his constant teasing and innuendos, Lady and Trish with their provocative clothes and body language, and even some demons sometimes act like that. But Nero? He seems to be an exception to that rule. In all his sarcasm and attitude, he’s still more about the taunting and mocking the enemy than flirting with it. While he’s the only one to have a love interest, the dynamic of their relationship shows a profound bond, loyalty, protectiveness and warmth. And yet with all that, it doesn’t get on the sexual side that was to be expected of those games, considering the other characters.

So, yeah, that's been my Ace Nero Manifesto. I wrote my evidence but, in reality nothing can stop me from headcanoning a character as ace just because I feel like it.

Devil May Cry Spice Tolerance Headcanons:

I had some mango habanero boneless wings (highly recommend if you love and tolerate spicy food), and that made me think of this idea for a series of headcanons.

Abnormally high spice tolerance:

Dante:

Dante can definitely tolerate spicy.

If he was younger (DMC3 Dante) he would definitely be exaggerating about how his mouth was on fire.

Since we’re talking about a much older Dante here, he has built up his spice tolerance.

Give him multiple One Chip Challenges and he just eats them like they are normal potato chips.

Try to prank him by putting pieces of Thai Chili peppers on his pizza, he’ll enjoy it even more.

Dare him to eat a ghost pepper, he will do it.

You cannot get this guy to tap out and drink milk.

Vergil:

Like his twin, he has spice tolerance but for completely different reasons.

He has willingly ate a habanero before and shrugged it off, which horrified Nero.

Hates buffalo sauce, not because it’s too spicy, but because it’s salty to him. Anything that is too salty or too sweet, he can’t eat, because he can’t tolerate it, he says as he pops another habanero in his mouth.

Whenever Dante gets pizza, he tells him to put extra jalapeños on his half when they share. (Or they don’t share and Dante eats the whole thing)

Ghost peppers are his favorite.

He’s been in hell for years. Spicy food can’t phase him.

Sparda:

Has been around for a very long time and has tried various spicy foods.

This is where the twins’ love of spicy food comes from.

He has a bigger appetite than his sons as he eats more portions of food than the two combined, which yes, includes spicy food.

In his opinion, sushi is at its best when spicy. Hence why he seeks out scorpion hot sauce and DRENCHES the sushi in it, which horrified Eva.

He was a legendary demon knight, spicy food can’t phase him. (Like father like son)

Nico:

“HOO-WEE! Who’s ready for an impromptu pepper eatin’ contest?”

Nico is the reason why Dante and Vergil now compete in eating the worst ever peppers.

Nico LOVES eating 4x Spicy Balduk noodles (I can’t even eat these) with some Carolina Reaper Pepper cheese on top, again which horrifies Nero.

Gets giddy at the suggestion of spicy food.

Give her some scorpion hot sauce, Carolina Reaper Pepper cheese, basically any spicy sauce or snack that Nero can’t even eat, you win her over easily.

LOVES Kyrie’s homemade chili especially when she makes a spicier version in a different pot just for her.

One chip challenge? She laughs and eats two and says that the chips ain’t spicy and eats chips like these on her break.

Girl is from the south and has eaten plenty of spicy food, she can handle a lot more heat.

Has Limits:

Trish:

Trish herself can debunk the myth of all demons can handle spice. No, not all of them, she argued.

Jalapeños, spicy chips, red hot pepper flakes on her pizza she can eat with no problems or hesitation.

Trish will beg Dante not to put a crap ton of jalapeños on the other half of the pizza like last time.

Trish has tried mango habaneros wings before. Three wings in, she grabbed the milk and drank it in defeat.

“Yes, I am a demon who shoots lightning bolts who can’t handle a 577,00 Scoville unit pepper, deal with it,” she sassed Dante with her runny mascara.

She will stick with her hot Cheetos.

Lady:

Also hates it when Dante and Vergil put too many jalapeños on the other half of a pizza.

A moderate amount of jalapeños is good enough for her. Same with buffalo wings, ignoring Vergil making a disgusted face.

Has judged the twins hard on eating a ghost pepper and a habanero.

“What the hell is wrong with you guys? Those things light your tongues on fire!”

Ate a small portion of a ghost pepper. Immediately tapped out and Dante quickly gave her the glass of milk.

She prefers to watch Dante and Vergil eat insanely hot peppers rather than participate.

Kyrie:

Is intimidated by the sight of a Thai Chili pepper.

She is willing to sprinkle cayenne pepper seasoning on things like her homemade chili she gives to the kids, Nero and Nico, but doesn’t go too far knowing her limits and Nero’s.

Kyrie coughs after taking a small whiff of Nico’s chili. “Okay, hers is done.”

Jalapeños is something that she also enjoys as it’s not trying to destroy her tongue.

Trying Nico’s 4X Spicy Balduk noodles, even one bite was enough to make her face turn red and tear up.

“Girl, you got guts, but you got limits, drink up.” Nico gave her some milk to extinguish the heat.

“I’m not doing that again.”

Instantly Nopes Out:

Nero:

Nero wanted to eat some pizza with Dante and Vergil, but after opening the pizza box, he immediately closed it.

Is scared by the sight of a ghost pepper. Only to witness Dante eat it like it’s a strawberry. Nero is once again horrified.

The only sensation he likes in his mouth (get your mind out of the gutter) is minty freshness like from gum.

“Does… cinnamon flavored gum count as spicy?” Nero asked Dante.

Dante, “No, that’s just sweetness with a hint of spice.”

Nero hesitantly ate a small piece of habanero. He very quickly went to the fridge to pour milk into his mouth. And onto his clothes. And onto the floor. “Do not tell Nico about this.”

Eva:

Nero definitely inherited his grandmother’s hatred for anything spicy.

Eva absolutely hates the smell as it stings her nose.

She knows her husband loves spicy food and tolerates it, but she cannot handle it.

Because she loved him and wanted to eat some delicious food he made with him, she took a bite.

Sparda said, “My dear, you didn’t have to do that,” and tried offering her water Eva shook her head and said, “If you can handle surely I can…”

Eventually she gives up and drinks the water after snot and comes out of her nose much to her embarrassment.

In conclusion, never give Eva anything spicy. Only give it to Sparda.

• Dante is Aromantic, and going off of that

• Dante and Lady dated for a brief period when they were 20~ish for a month but they soon broke up, Dante realised he was Aromantic and Lady realised she was a lesbian. It was really awkward and they don't talk about it.

• (also Demisexual Vergil fight me)

• Nero's the type of guy to crush a can of cola in his hand when he's angry

• He would never actively admit it, but Vergil instantly bonded to Nero, even if Nero himself didn't bond with Vergil. It's probably to do with some weird demon biology thing, as Vergil tries to show He cares in odd ways like offering to clean Nero's weapons (making sure the demon spawn can protect itself) or staring at him from across the room (monitoring the demon spawn to assure its survival). It freaks Nero out as he doesnt know what's going on.

• Nico plays pranks on Nero and Kyrie that border on being illegal

• Trish and Vergil kind of have an unspoken bond/connection (?). Like demon to demon communication especially after the V and Trish talk

• Vergil moved into Devil May Cry without asking Dante after dmc5 and claimed a couch and a portion of the office as his. Dante won't admit that he doesn't mind.

• Also about vergil, When Patty came to Devil May Cry after the events of dmc5, she yelled at Dante for an hour for missing her birthday among other things. Vergil thought it was hilarious but he stayed quiet the whole time as usual.

• Nero roughhouses with the kids at the orphanage, and he always tries to stay gentle, but those kids man... they're out for blood. One time Nero ended up with a huge gash over his eyebrow that surprisingly left a scar.

+ plus scent choices!!!

• Lady likes Versace perfume or light floral scents. Don't know how to explain this one

• Trish likes deeper, more musky scents. For example Kyoto in Bloom by glasshouse fragrances (my signature scent lol). She also smells of this hair oil my mum uses. Very nice ^^

• Vergil likes cool, crisp scents, but not very masculine ones. More androgynous or feminine. Otherwise he smells like old books, like the old sci-fi books my dad gave me

• Nero likes cheap cologne, anything to cover up the blood smell that seems to hang around as to not scare the kids

• Kyrie likes either light, sweet scents or deep, stormy scents. She tends to lean to more deep scents.

• Dante smells like pizza grease and Lynx Africa All the time (go argue with a wall) but if he had to choose he would probably smell like roses or something with sandalwood. Heavy scents.

Trish wouldn't want the responsibility of parenthood, but it'd be funny if she followed in Mundus's footsteps and created a new demonic species. She wants them to thrive, but she doesn't feel a strong sense of attachment or possession toward them. I'm not even sure if they'd be sapient beings or just a whimsical animal that Trish came up with. What if horses were predators?

I think Lucia would want to be a mom, maybe she'd adopt a child like her mother before her. If the child were not human, she'd be honest about it as early as possible, not wanting them to go through the crisis that she did. Through loving the child she'd learn to love herself better, and she'd feel closer to Matier having taken on this responsibility.

I don't think Lady would want to be a mom. Her job is dangerous, she wouldn't want to orphan them. She's terrified of how she'd react if the kid got interested in clowns. She'd make a good deadbeat mom, maybe, sending big fat child support checks in a most timely manner.

Kyrie already cares for 3 children as of the DMC5 prequel novel. I'm not sure how she feels about that, I haven't read it myself, and we hardly ever get an insight into how Kyrie feels. I could imagine that while she loves those kids to death, the amount of responsibility she's taken on in so little time is really overwhelming. Then again, she's rather used to feeling responsible for other people and putting their needs ahead of her own.

With Nico, I could go either way, but I think she wouldn't want to have a kid until she's at least 40 or something. She'd be a blunt and honest parent, not really caring too much about swearing or polite euphemisms. She'd be very loving, careful not to prioritize her work over the child, she has an idea of what that's like. I think this is the one reason she would consider quitting smoking.

Once Nero and Kyrie are properly together after DMC4, Nero is almost always giving some kind of physical affection to Kyrie. He's either holding her hand, leaning on her, holding her, heck if they're sitting down and someone is between them, he'll stretch his arm over just to touch her shoulder.

Most days this is adorable, somedays it's annoying because Nero I need to make dinner, I love you but holding me from behind makes it really hard to cook. Sometimes she bribes the kids to create a distraction so that Nero is distracted long enough that he doesn't hinder her work.

Vergil's pass times and hobbies headcanon

• since coming back from the under worlds vergil has decided to indulge in new pass times, one of these is continuing to perfect his dark slayer style so it isn't odd to find him training.

• Vergil also happens to be a practitioner of tai chi. His so well versed that incidentally started a small following in the Redgrave City park and now teaches morning classes 3 days a week in the mornings.

• Vergil has a rather impressive tea collection and its one of the things he's been able to bond over with Kyrie.

• One of his more surprising hobbies is attending and participating in poetry slams. While some of his poems are dark and a bit depressing there's a certain dark beauty about them that draws people in.

• with his life now calmer than what it was Vergil has taken up his magic studies once again and has even taught Nero how to cast his own summoned swords with out the need of his DT
