Peace, it seemed, was a rare commodity in the midst of a wreck, but somehow, Henry had managed to find a few moments of it. Just a few brief moments to breathe, be grateful for life as it was, internally berate himself for the shitstorm he'd somehow found himself smack in the middle of, before returning to the chaos that was survival. A few moments was all he needed.

It was with that desire for peace that Henry sought out Yazmin. Despite all they'd gone through -- the majority of which had been his fault, he knew, -- and all that they would inevitably go through when the truth surfaced as it always did, Henry always thought of her as his source of peace. It was selfish of him, he knew, and yet, Henry was no one without her. "How's the leg," Henry asked, head tilting slightly in the direction of the injury she'd gritted her teeth through allowing him to tend to. It would've been better if he'd had proper supplies, but he'd done the best with what he had. "I should take a look at the dressing. Change it out if it needs." The words were spoken as more statement of fact than request. "I've set up a small shelter over there," he motioned with a thumb over his left shoulder, "if you'll just follow me."

Or, at least, not scoffed when the end of days folks predicted that the world would end at the turn of the century. Not that anyone ever really expected to find themselves marooned on an island. "It's been a month," he huffed, "when do we stop hoping and start admitting to ourselves that we need more permanent structures? An actual society, even?
