            SHE NEVER thought they’d be here. Sitting next to each other on the beach, with their toes tucked into the sand. Sofia was in bed, sound asleep in her new room where as she and her wife were currently seated on the beach, side by side. They’d been living in Los Angeles for only a week now, they’d both be starting their new jobs at St Amrbose next week and she was excited for it. The fresh start, the change of scenery.. their future. Looking at the brunette, Arizona frowned “ Tell me.. what does your wine taste like? Your child is making a bouncing castle in my stomach and it’s really annoying and I need a distraction.” the blonde spoke as she rubbed her expanding stomach. She wasn’t huge but they were at the stage where she could feel Baby Robbins Torres moving AROUND.

                     SOME DAYS were hard. Harder than to what the blonde thought were even possible but, knowing that her girlfriend worked at the same hospital, meant that after a tough call, she’d have a place to dry her tears. Or rather, watch as she got drowned in them. Making her way through the halls, the blonde found herself standing outside the brunette’s office. She steadied herself for a brief moment before entering tearfully, thanking her lucky stars she was alone “ Please tell me you have a moment. I’m about TO CRY.”

            SHE’D NEVER been one to go to conferences. Or at least, she always tried to get out of it. This time, the blonde however couldn’t. The double certified surgeon, who had studied one of the hardest areas and basically learned it overnight, had been informed her presence were required, whether she wanted to be or not. So, the blonde had gone to LA, leaving her wife and child at home. The duo promising to meet up with her after the conference, they had to go to disneyland after all. But what, Arizona didn’t expect to find, is a familiar redhead standing in the foyer. Walking towards her, the blonde smiled “Well, if it isn’t the woman that I will hold dearly in my heart forever. For saving my wife AFTER ALL.”

      SHE’D BEEN seated there, with Calliope, in the space that she and Herman had called home for a few months. But now, now it didn’t have Nicole in it, no. Amelia was currently operating on her and Arizona just couldn’t do it. She’d just completed her own surgery but instead of going to the gallery where she probably should’ve been, she was in there, Now, with Calliope. Many things were running through her mind and she just couldn’t be there. Biting her lip, Arizona looked up as the door revealed Alex: Amelia needed her.

        The blonde went running off to the operating room, taking note of Richard in there with the brunette. What was going on? Why wasn’t she operating on Nicole? Arizona scrubbed in quickly, grabbing a mask as she entered, taking note of the intercom being turned off. Good, they didn’t need that right now. Going closer to Amelia so only the other could hear her, Arizona spoke softly “Babe, what’s GOING ON?”.

          WITH HER arms across her chest, the blonde smiled as she leaned against the glass window, staring down into OR three. The brunette before her was miraculous. Phenomenal. Amazing. Honestly everything the blonde could think of, Calliope was it. And she was lucky to call her, well hers. But she’d just found out some information and she had to speak about it with her wife before anyone else. She didn’t have a surgery coming up but she was loving watching Calliope work. “The way you’re moving those tools..definitely keeps me hot and bothered DOCTOR TORRES.”

       SHE DIDN’T even hear about the cause for the crash until she was half way through with her patient and as much as she wanted to, she couldn’t walk out half way through. the blonde swallowed the lump that had formed in her throat as she finished up with her patient before she casually walked over to the nurses station, placing the iPad down and walked out. She needed to get out of there, she couldn’t be in there right now. Licking her lips slightly, Arizona found herself walking and walking before stopping and realising she’d found herself standing in front of her favorite donut shop close to the hospital. She definitely needed at least two dozen donuts. Grabbing the two boxes, Arizona returned back to the hospital, ignoring all of the calls that were directed her way and just kept going.

     The blonde found herself seated on the ground in a storage room, eating one of many donuts she had grabbed. She was okay. She wasn’t on the plane. Her plane has been and gone and she was alive. The people that she saw in the emergency room..they had similar wounds to what they had suffered. Closing her eyes, Arizona let out a sigh as she wiped at the tears that had fallen before looking up as the door was opened to reveal Meredith. “ I can’t be out there anymore. All I can think of is...what happened TO US.”

                EASTER TIME was one of the blondes most favorite holidays ( well, she actually liked every single holiday ). She had bounced around the apartment, setting everything up for when sofia woke up ready for their easter egg hunt. once she was finished, the blonde headed into the kitchen to pour two cups of coffee before heading back into their bedroom, placing the mugs on her bed side table to lean over and press a kiss to calliope’s cheek. they had a bit longer before sofia woke up so they could at least spend some time together. the blonde called out softly to her wife “CALLIOPEEEE.”

      WHEN SHE had first got the phone call from Richard to inform her of the death of Andrew DeLuca, Arizona broke down. Crying. He was one of her closest friends back in Seattle, they still spoke every chance that they could but she couldn’t believe it. He was gone. He was gone trying to help children. And Carina was heart broken, the blonde didn’t blame her either. It wasn’t easy. But she understood the pain of losing a brother. She understood. It wasn’t easy, but she UNDERSTOOD.

    CLOSING THE door behind her, Arizona made her way from her car over to the entry to the brunette’s apartment. An address she had received from Richard, informing her that she now lived there with her girlfriend, and she knew how much of a feat that was for Carina. She was proud. So would Andrew. Making her way inside, Arizona knocked on the apartment and waited for an answer behind THE DOOR.

            THERE WAS nothing better than Chinese and wine with her best friend. And that was exactly what the blonde was planning as she drove to the redhead’s place. She’d just picked up the chinese that she’d ordered, grabbing a bottle of wine along the way. She herself had just come off of a long day at work and there was nothing she needed more than spending the time with April. Sliding out of the car, the blonde the grabbed the items before making her way through to April’s front door and knocked, smiling as the other opened up “I’m here with all the goods. Let’s eat, drink and talk ALL NIGHT.”

           ARIZONA MIGHT actually kill Juni. Just a little bit. The brunette had been hurt in a fire, only minor but she still had been hurt. And she was currently in the emergency room getting looked after by the fine doctors. But she hadn’t even been told. Not by Juni at least. She’d found out from Carina, who had found out from Maya who was her captain. She’d found out in a roundabout way but she had freaked out, ever so lightly, because she hadn’t heard or seen Juni herself. Yes, they hadn’t made anything official yet but they were unofficially together and Arizona still cared about the firefighter. Letting out  a soft huff, the blonde made her way through the hospital down to the emergency room. Finding the bed that the brunette was in, Arizona raised her eyebrows slightly “So tell me, can your mouth still work to tell me that you’d hurt yourself or were you expecting me to not find out in the hospital that I work and CO OWN?”.

       FIRST anniversaries were hard, the blonde knew that. she knew that first hand. when she lost her brother, that first year, that first year hurt harder than what she ever thought was possible. so, she knew exactly how meredith was feeling today. it didn’t help it had been a year since the plane crash as well as being a year since lexie died, all the firsts at once. It wasn’t easy. With donuts in one hand a bag with juice and tequila and the other, arizona made her way towards her friends door and knocked, waiting for the other to open the door. when she did, arizona tilted her head to the side and smiled softly “I didn’t know what sort of way we were feeling right now, so I’ve got both tequila and orange juice, because it’s still morning. and of course DONUTS.”

                               NUMB. That’s all she was right now. Numb with a capital N. Today should have been the happiest day of her life. She’d just completed her first major solo surgery, and in the same process, standing up to an authority figure. She’d gotten through it. But, the only reason why she was tackling it by herself is because of the woman who was there by her side on every other surgery was currently undergoing her own surgery.  Her other half performing the surgery. She was nervous. She needed Nicole to be okay. She just needed her to be. The blonde wasn’t sure as to how long had passed but, looking up as the door opened to reveal the brunette of her thoughts, Arizona swallowed the lump that was stuck in her throat “How.. how IS SHE?”.

        DRINKS. She needed a drink. It had been quite the long day at the hospital, it always seemed to have been lately but the blonde had been there since well before 2am but for Arizona, it didn’t matter. The tiny humans were always worth it. Making her way to Joe’s across the road, Arizona decided it was drink time before Calliope finished work. She’d inform her wife to meet her there as well. Making her way towards the bar, the blonde spotted Alex seated there “Hey Karev, what’s going on with the long face that you’ve got GOING ON?”.

                “YOU KNOW, I’m meant to be a big surgeon operating big surgeries on tiny humans. But I’ve already changed my scrubs twice today because a tiny human ended up emptying the contents of their stomachs on me in the emergency room. I’ve had three showers today. Three! One before work and two because of the incidents. No thank you.” the blonde spoke as she sat down at the table with a huff. She did not want another shower, especially if she had to change her scrubs. Again. “So, tell me, how was YOUR DAY?”.

              FROM WHERE she's leaning against the nurses station, the blonde offer's up Lexie a small smile. Yes, she really did just tell a patient's parents that she was going to do the surgery probono. Yes, she knew knew that surgery would indeed take quite a lengthy time but the blonde didn't care. It would all be worth it. It would all be worth it to see that smile on the tiny humans face, especially once they knew everything was all in the clear. Or at least, she hoped that's what she could provide for the child. " I definitely am not a badass but I will agree with you on a big heart. I do get told often that my heart is sometimes too big for my OWN GOOD."

“ just get in the pillow fort, okay ? ” - Alex to Arizona

IF SHE were being completely honest with herself, when she and Calliope had asked Alex to babysit Sofia for them, this was definitely not what they had envisioned upon returning home. But it's safe to say the blonde was not disappointed. She grinned, watching as their daughter came running out to the parents, the blonde hugging her daughter before watching as Sofia turned to her other mother. Walking towards the fort, Arizona tilted her head and looked down "Dude, what the hell." she chuckled slightly as she crawled in next to the man. "What's up with the PILLOW FORT?".
