on one hand I get why people talk about the vanity of the instagram age, but on the other one time St. Ignatius of Loyola got his leg shattered in battle and discovered upon recovery that he could no longer wear his favorite tight leather boots due to the way his leg had set and so decided to rebreak his leg without anesthesia because he was that determined to wear his fashionable boots again...what i'm trying to say is that this man might have existed before instagram, but at heart he was an influencer

Oh noooooo. Did my disability remind you of your own mortality and now you feel a little scared, Nancy? That’s not my problem.

garashir is incredible because you have an exiled spy for an oppressive state with fucked parentage who doesn’t want to let himself be happy, but also can’t resist temptation; then you have a genius doctor who comes across as naive and too optimistic, but has had an ongoing identity crisis since the age of 15 because he learned his parents’ solution to his childhood disabilities was eugenics
and yet somehow they are so lame, just so embarrassing

Ok I’m still on my bullshit about time lords ignoring the trauma of regeneration
In human nature (I’m paraphrasing, it’s been awhile), Martha asks if the process hurts and Ten says something like “I’m literally changing every cell in my body. Of course it hurts.”
And. Buddy? You have described regeneration in almost those exact words before.
Anyway I like the idea that it’s painful and exhausting and confusing, but they don’t tell you that because Time Lords are supposed to be above silly bodily concerns. Regen-ed is like “you will need a few days to recover and are required to get time off to rest” and that’s it. Older students whisper terrifying rumors to scare the younger ones but none of them really know. And you’re taught it’s so embarrassing that after your first time you either brush it off to seem stronger or wonder if you did something wrong that caused you to suffer
