Currently I have so many bg3 saves bc I refuse to delete my old ones that will likely never be finished (first ever gameplays, not optimized, everytime I open one I get overwhelmed and stop), but also because I keep making new games with the specific purpose of romancing a certain companion, seeing special dialog, doing a specific style of run, or getting an achievement on steam.

The Scarlet Lounge was a place where Scotty went to escape. Alyssa was his one true love, but the man got lonely and he had needs. Everyone did. Did Scotty feel guilty about it? Absolutely, but life has been complete and total shit. He needed something to be excited about and The Scarlet Lounge got him excited. In ways that made him feel like a stupid fuckin teenager. However, tonight he wasn't alone. Tonight he had met Emmett. The best friend. The idiot who had gotten him into the most trouble with. Though Emmett has only been new in town for two years, it felt like Scotty had known him his whole life. Funny, how a person can feel like that. It was loud and vibrant and Scotty was already two drinks in. One more and the Sargent was a total goner. He sat down with of course, his third and downed it. The alcohol burned down his throat and Scotty cursed under his breath "Fuck." He sat there, watched as the smoke rom another man blew in his face and then watched as the girls started to dance. He wasn't paying attention much right now though. Running a hand through his hair, Scotty shook his head "You know, if I wasn't fuckin on leave we wouldn't be able to do this. I still don't know how you even got off tonight."

the voice that your phone was emitting rang in your ears, pro hero by day, your longtime bestfriend by night, monoma neito. also known as, phantom thief.

“what? what happened?” you quickly tapped off the call screen, your finger rapidly going to find the app with the blue bird logo, trying to see if you were getting cancelled, or worse, if you were getting shipped with neito.

you quickly tapped the topic that showcased your name, wondering just what all the fuss could possibly be about at 2:53 am on a tuesday morning.

of course, the gossip magazines have now caught onto what you said and they were sure as hell never going to let it go, at least not until you provided them with some details.

“oh my god. neito you told me he wouldn’t even see it! you fucking liar.” you pinched the bridge of your nose while one hand placed your phone on your countertop, the sound of the man laughing echoing throughout your household as you went to open your fridge.

“you had to have known he’d see it! you’re not exactly an underground streamer y’know. although, you’ll never be in the spotlight the way i am.” how the hell was he a pro hero with this attitude? no way his approval rating was high.

“well yeah! but i didn’t think he’d reply to it. d’you know how embarassing this is for me? it was just a joke! it’s literally a lyric from a megan thee stallion song.” you groaned as you cracked an egg over your bowl, whisking it in.

“wait. what’re you doing?” he heard you shuffling around.

“baking a cake. i can’t sleep.” you murmured softly, grabbing your flour.

“i’m coming over.” the man had always had such a sweet tooth, and he was more than happy to indulge in the treats that you’d bake whenever your mind was fully occupied.

“i’m here!” you jumped, forgetting that you had given the man a key in case he was ever on night patrol and needed a place to crash.

he was in his hero costume, his patrol had just finished and the stupid tailcoat that he had followed his every move as he waltzed into your kitchen, a bright smile on his face.

“god, neito! knock or something, i could’ve been naked.” your voice revealed to him just how startled you actually were.

“nothing i haven’t seen before.” oh right, that’s how you both got so close. you used to hook up with the man before becoming bestfriends.

“anyways. back to the main subject. what the hell do i do? he’s seen it. so it’s not like i can delete it and pretend it’s never happened.”

the man handed you the sugar from your pantry before sitting on your countertop right by your stove.

“well no, you can’t delete it now. honestly i say live up to it, what’s the worst that can happen?” he was always so confident, it made you like him and hate him at the same time.

“i don’t know, neito. i mean that’s embarassing! who do i look like thirsting over a man who still has a samsung galaxy s6? i’m so stupid sometimes, this is why i need a media manager.” you poured the cake mix into the pan, tossing neito the bowl so that he could have the leftover mix.

“mm. thank you. chocolate cake mix.”

“can you be serious?” you threw a wooden spoon at him, the man letting out a small ow! before getting back to your conversation.

“i am being serious, sweetheart. unfortunately this is just something you’ve got to live up to. i’ve met the dude y’know, and he’s a cocky little shit but he’s not that bad.”

“so he’s basically like you?”

“hey!”

you sighed, setting your timer for your sweet treat. this was just an interaction you couldn’t keep on avoiding.

these days had been different.

rafe had been quiet lately, and it said enough for you. you had watched him through it all, the utter rage that sputtered out his mouth, and you'd seen the stillness of horrible need to be loved, but this. this was different.

this was a rafe you had never seen, and when you sat next to him in the car you felt confused. he'd gotten you ice cream, as you made rounds in town. and this whole time he hadn't looked at you once. the only interaction that he had with you was the greeting peck he gave you.

and now as the two of you sat in the car, the morning air crisp, you found yourself faltering to speak. quietly, you placed your hands on his shoulder. he flinched slightly, almost as if he had been in a trance all this time.

"rafe, what's going on with you?" you whispered out. he shook his head, his fists clenched. you shook him gently, and continued to look him in the eye.

finally, he seemed to soften, his baby blue eyes set on your expression. "do you ever regret it?"

you scrunched your nose, "regret what?"

he pursed his lips, and then screwed his eyes shut, his voice a croak. "us. do you regret us?"

at this you found yourself laughing staring at the man in front of you. his buzz cut, his gentle hands and his soft promising words. he was so imperfectly perfect. for all that you knew, he was everything that you needed.

he had been everything you wanted.

"i always wanted to stay with you, you know that right?" you smiled at rafe, and what you didn't notice was the way his hands shook, or the way that his head tilted in confusion. no, you looked at him with love.

"nah, listen...i just feel like i can be better for you. i feel like i can change. but-" he muttered out, his voice cracking, and you couldn't take it. these days his heart was breaking.

"rafe."

you saw enough.

"you are enough for me. you have changed."

and you didn't say anything else. there was nothing else to say. and this time he was staring at you, as you gleamed in the sunlight. he couldn't believe his luck. he couldn't believe that you had stayed no matter what, that you were in front of him, a sweet smile on your lips, and what seemed like trust in your eyes.

he'd never been looked like that before.

people looked at him like a liar. a murderer, a thief, and a traitor. but never, ever did they look at rafe the way you were looking at him.

you looked at him like he was the sun, the moons, and the edge of the ocean when the hazy dawn took over. you looked at him as you knew he could get better. sometimes he acted annoyed at you, in that playful way, but he liked it. he liked the way that you giggled when he captured you in his arms. he liked the way he drove you around in his car, and he liked the way that you had that necklace with his initial on it.

he liked calling you his.

you were his girl.

as if he had the capability. he felt enough, the way that silence etched in his bones, and he saw that you meant every word that came out of your pretty mouth. so he sat with you, hands entwined believing in the days to come.

these days had been different.

Something something about Zoe admitting that she used to lie to make a friend's and end up losing them because of it.

Where do I ever hear of it?

Oh, right! Lila!

Before Chameleon Lila is just simply a liar, even Adrien(?) reasoned maybe it's because she want to fit in.

Funny how Marinette end up antagonize her while welcoming Zoe heartily and the only difference between them is only one of them has a crush on Adrien. Guess which one that Marinette made enemies of?

I agree that Zoe's backstory is similar to Lila's canon story, but you haven't given a fair assessment of the differences in their introductory episodes. It's not even necessarily fair to call them the same character. Zoe's lying is presented as her acting different to try to fit in. She's not telling major lies about her life to make herself stand out. The worst we get is stuff like this:

Chloé: (closes the door) Since your father isn't here, you'll use mine! If you become my sister, of course. Rule number two: you need a minion. Where's yours? Zoé: Uhhh, I left them…in New York!

Which is still enough to understandably turn someone off to Zoe, but it doesn't make her a Lila clone. Let's look at why that is.

Lila's intro has her actively coming up with very extreme lies that aren't about fitting it. They're about making her stand out! She doesn't want to be part of the crowd. She wants to be worshiped. Here are some quotes from the start of Volpina to give the flavor of lies we see from Lila:

Rose: Can you believe Lila knows Prince Ali? She even flew in his private jet with him! Chloé: Why did Jagged Stone write a song about Lila when he could've written it about me? Nino: Lila knows all of the Hollywood directors. She promised she'd mention me to Steven Basielberg himself! Marinette: (rushes back to Alya's side) Lila? Alya: Yeah, she just started at our school! (points to Lila, who's on the second floor of the school with Adrien) She even gave me an exclusive interview for the Ladyblog, 'cause Ladybug saved her life once! Watch! (shows Marinette the video of Lila on her blog)

It's worth noting that this exchange makes Marinette feel jealous and threatened, but she doesn't hate Lila. She's just afraid that Adrien will fall for the cool new girl. This leads her to follow Lila and Adrien into the school library where we get this:

Lila: So you've got a little soft spot for the bug, huh? Adrien: Me? Oh, no! Not at all! (The book cart moves closer to them, but is unnoticed.) Lila: You know I actually happen to be very close friends with Ladybug. (Adrien and Marinette both gasp.) Adrien: Really?!

This is where Marinette's hatred comes from and it's justified. This scene would play the exact same way no matter who Lila was talking to. Someone is using Marinette's name to get close to people. That would upset most of us. We also get this moment at the end of that same scene:

Adrien:(gets an alert from his phone) I gotta go! I've got a lesson in 58 seconds. (Lila causes Adrien to drop his bag on the floor) Lila: So, the park? (pushes the superhero book on the floor away from Adrien's bag with her foot) Adrien: Uh sure! (runs out) Lila:(picks up the book) A vixen superheroine? Hmm, interesting... (leaves the library) Tikki: Marinette! Marinette: I know. I gotta talk to Adrien before he meets up with Lila in the park. He needs to know that she's a total thief.

Once again, Marinette's feelings are extremely justified. Lila stole Adrien's book and will go on to toss it in the trash, showing that she never meant to return it, probably to avoid the risk of him thinking that she took it. These are two incredibly negative things for someone to witness and they're basically Marinette's first impression of Lila! Meanwhile, this was Marinette and Zoe's first interaction:

Marinette: Sorry I got held up here! (bumps into Zoé) Sabine: Is everyone all right? Marinette: Sorry, sorry, sorry! Zoé: It's totally okay, but maybe I should be asking if you're okay. That was quite a fall!

Very different. Not enough to justify Marinette trusting Zoe, but Marinette's hatred of Chloe combined with this initial good first impression are arguably enough for Marinette to be willing to hear Zoe out and give her a chance to prove herself. It's easy to be rude to service workers and Zoe wasn't, so I can see why Marinette would believe that Zoe isn't a manipulative monster especially since Zoe does apologize and promise to explain herself pretty quickly after the scene where she's rude to Marinette and Co:

(Zoé, sitting at the end of Chloé's bed, gets a text message as Chloé continues to search for shoes. She sees it is a message from Marinette, and reads.) Marinette: (voiceover) I can tell something is keeping you from being yourself. If it's Chloé, we can talk about it tonight, if you want. You're still welcome to come to the Barge. (Zoé texts Marinette back.) Zoé: (internal voiceover as she types) Sorry. I'll explain tonight. (sends the message, Marinette's picture and name pops up as she does)

It would be better if Zoe instigated this text exchange, but I don't hate this scene. I just think it's rushed and that Marinette should come across as more cautious about Zoe after everything that happened at the end of the last season. Marinette's actions here and conviction about her initial judgement of Zoe would make a lot more sense if they came in an earlier season, but this is a formula show, so that's probably playing a part in the awkwardness. Marinette isn't allowed to become more guarded, I guess...

If we go back to looking at Volpina, we find a very different type of story. After Marinette's terrible first impression of Lila, she watches the aforementioned Ladyblog interview off screen and gains even more reasons for her to be justifiably pissed at Lila, further cementing that bad first impression:

Ladybug: (sarcastically) Well hey Lila! How's it going? Long time no see. I saw your interview on the Ladyblog, awesome job. (puts her foot on the bench between Lila and Adrien, and leans closer to Lila) Oh sure! I remember our instant connection when I saved your life and we've been really good friends ever since! Practically BFF's! Uh actually, when did I save your life again, Lila? I don't recall. Oh yes! Of course, now I remember. Never! And we're not friends either! (to Adrien) Miss Show-Off here was trying to impress you and everyone around her.

We learn here that Lila didn't just claim that she was saved by Ladybug, which is honestly a pretty minor lie. Instead, she's once again claiming that they're close friends! Take out the Adrien complication and Marinette would still quickly start to hate Lila because Lila is using her name left and right and that's not okay! It's also not a minor thing.

The show is a little unclear about how seriously society takes the Ladyblog, but it's serious enough for Alya to be treated as an authority who is invited on talk shows as we saw in Prime Queen

Nadja: Don't be bemused, it's just the news! Hi, I'm Nadja Chamack, and this is Side by Side. Today, I'm joined by Alya Césiare, who created the Ladyblog! Together, we'll be looking back over Cat Noir and Ladybug's greatest feats.

The Ladyblog is also the resource that Felix uses to research the miraculous. So it's fair to say that the Ladyblog is not an unknown news source. At the very least, it's being treated as a true authority on all things Ladybug and Alya is getting serious public attention, which means that Lila's little interview is probably going to be treated seriously by a significant portion of society since it's coming from the Ladyblog.

Ladybug would be well within her rights to have Alya publish a retraction. In fact, it's super weird that Ladybug didn't do that and is one of the many reasons why I hate Volpina. The episode completely justifies almost everything Marinette does and then tries to present her actions as being in the wrong by having Adrien chastise her:

Adrien:(to Lila, who is crying) So I guess you aren't the descendant of a superhero either? Ladybug: She's more like a super liar. Lila: How dare you?! Adrien: Wait! Lila! (Lila runs away) Hey, what was that all about? Uh, I mean, weren't you kinda harsh with her? Ladybug: I...I don't put up with lies, especially when they're about me. (yo-yos away)

Which does eventually lead to Ladybug apologizing to Lila:

Ladybug: I... totally overreacted and... never should've spoken to you like that. I'm sorry.

No you didn't overreact! Writers, why are you telling kids that it's wrong to confront people who are lying about you? How should the Lila problem have been addressed if confronting her is wrong? It's not like she stops lying after this or like the show treats her as a minor threat. She's literally the new main villain and her eventual outing to the class is way more dramatic than this, so how was Marinette in the wrong here? Why did the writers have Adrien chastise her?

I've seen people justify Adrien's reaction here as him viewing Lila like a gossip rag spreading lies. To be fair, that's a valid way to make his actions make sense. The best course of action for the lies in those things IS to ignore them because no one with a brain is going to treat a gossip rag as a credible source.

However, the Ladyblog is not treated like a gossip rag and Lila wasn't just spreading rumors for quick cash. She was actively manipulating Adrien and has claimed authority via a reputable news outlet. The appropriate response to that kind of misinformation IS a retraction. It IS appropriate for Ladybug to do something here. If anything, Ladybug was being quite tame! She had a mostly private confrontation with Lila and then let the matter died for some reason. If it were me, I'd be telling the world that I don't know this woman and to not believe a word she says!

If anyone should have learned a lesson in this episode, it's Adrien. He needed to learn the difference between gossip rag lies and lies that you actually need to address, which is frankly a good lesson for a sheltered teen celebrity to learn! It makes sense that he wouldn't know what to do here, but the show treats this as him being in the right and I hate it! Him guilting Ladybug into staying quiet is why Lila is able to maintain her power for 4 more seasons.

Alya could also stand to learn a lesson on checking her sources. It's not like she never runs into Ladybug. Just hold off on posting the interview for a few days.

Circling back to the original ask: if Lila was telling the kind of minor lies that we see from Zoe, then I'd agree that this was a case of hypocrisy, but that's not what we see. It's also why I never really bought the whole, "Lila is just tying to fit in" excuse. Those are not the sort of lies you tell if you're trying to fit in! They're way too extreme!

While I'm not a fan of Zoe's character, her initial lies match the story she tells about wanting to fit in. Lila, on the other hand, feels like someone with an agenda. What that agenda is I do not know, but she clearly has one and she's had it from day one. It's really not weird that Marinette came to hate Lila while she was willing to give Zoe a second chance. The characters were set up in a way where that is an understandable response for her character even if you remove Adrien from the equation.

There are many episodes that make Marinette look terrible. Neither of these make that list. The only questionable thing Marinette does is follow Adrien and Lila into a public library and listen in on their conversation. I'm not going to call that good behavior, but it's hard to be too critical when it's clearly only there because the writers needed Marinette to overhear the lies to kick off the rest of the episode. I personally would have just had Marinette be in the library already and accidentally overhear her alter ego's name, leading her to listen in, but that's not drastically different than what we actually got so it's hard for me to get too worked up over the writers going the dramatic route. That's what they always do. The show relies heavily on absurdity so it make sense for Marinette overhearing the conversation to be done in the most absurd way possible.

yeah unfortunately for u all i will never shut up about how hot masks are. there's something so sexy about a man having his face completely covered ESPECIALLY if there's scars under there. handsome jack, simon riley, miraak, etc. i am unwell.

bryn in the nightingale armor x f!reader ("lass") under the cut. it's not explicit but damn it's suggestive so minor's don't read or interact. yeah i know the actual mask is probably sturdy but for my purposes i'm just pretending it's cloth.

"My eyes are up here, lass." His voice is muffled by the mask but shocks you all the same. You know you're caught staring but can't be bothered to feel ashamed. Standing in the only remaining sliver of daylight Brynjolf's green eyes practically glitter from under that blasted cowl. You know it's him under there - his teasing voice is reassuring, but your attraction to him hit a new level when he put on the armor.

"See something you like?" Each word is silky smooth when he stalks closer to you, every footfall silent. You can't put your finger on what's changed - you've seen him in the Guild armor for months and despite finding him attractive you'd never been downright tongue tied by him. It's only when gloved hands land beside your head, chilly armor pressing into your chest and only his eyes visible that it hits you.

Brynjolf looks deadly.

"No." You breathe, grateful that your own mask hides the raging blush in your face. Fiercely aware of every inch of his body touching yours you lavish in his undivided attention. You can only guess what his expression is when one finger hooks the hem of your mask and easily tugs it away from your face. Sharp eyes never waver from yours when his body crowds yours into the cold stone wall, every tiny gasp echoing around the cave.

"For a thief you're a terrible liar." He murmurs, that damned smirk written in every word. It's somehow more tantalizing that you can't see it; you know it's there but Brynjolf's true expression is a mystery. That dark mask hides everything but the mischievous glint in his eyes.

"Do you prefer when I lie?" You counter, desperate to even the scales of your interaction. Brynjolf's armored hips press ever so slightly into yours and your mind's flooded with every indecent thought of him that's kept you awake for nights on end.

His hand releases your face, leaving the mask gathered around your neck. Your stomach flips when his thumb lifts the bottom of his mask and reveals his stubbled jaw and that damned mouth.

"Stop." You blurt, too lost in the haze of lust only worsened by the sight of his lopsided smirk.

"Ah, is that it?" Every movement is painfully slow when he rests the mask on the bridge of his nose, leaving his mouth visible. "This is what finally got you to crack?"

You can't summon a witty retort. Throwing your arms around his shoulders you drag Brynjolf's body against yours, heart hammering in your chest when your lips meet. Renn - "I don't know. Maybe a romantic evening in the forest, with a candlelit dinner set on a table amidst a beautiful meadow. Or a fun-filled night at a tavern with good songs being sung by the bards and a feast worthy of kings!"

Tarrant - "I'm not... a very romantic person. I've never had a chance to really interact with someone whose feelings for me were genuine - people around me are usually targets or enemies. This made me have severe trust issues towards people who get too touchy-feely - it's usually not a great sign. However, I guess that a nice evening out in town, followed by a quiet picnic would be very nice though."

Cadenza - "Oh, definitely a peaceful walk through the orchards - preferably in spring when the fruit blossoms are in bloom and the forests are lit by multicolored stones. After that, maybe doing some puzzle-solving or participating in a local fair would be really fun!"

Jack - "I would take my date to the best restaurant I know, and then we would have a trip around the most exciting and fun places in town. Afterward, we could get into my spaceship and go stargazing or simply just fly around! I've never dated anyone before, but I think this would be the best date idea - or at least it's the best idea I've had so far, haha."

Deimos - "I'm not sure I would even know where to begin. I've had a few experiences with dating before, they weren't the best, weren't the worst. I think that if I ever fell in love with someone enough to plan a date myself, I think that something simple but heartfelt would be the way to go."

Renn - "Hmm. (chuckles) I guess it depends on the secret. I would die to protect a secret if it was really important but if it was a silly or funny secret with potential for gossip I would tell everyone. There's no in-between, haha."

Tarrant - "Yes, I can. First of all, it's my job as a Silver Snake - political manipulation, deceit, seduction, etc. Secrets are basically my trade. Second, I live in a very dangerous city, and knowing how to keep a secret is basically one of the few things that keep someone safe there."

Cadenza - "I think so. At least I hope so. I try my best to be a good confidante to my friends and never tell anyone's secrets unless they tell me to. I might be a bad liar, so if I have to lie to hide a secret it wouldn't go so well, but I would do my best to not tell the secret."

Jack - "Yes, I'm great at keeping secrets. Being a thief often means you can't go around trusting everyone, and some secrecy comes with the territory. Plus, there are things I don't want to burden my friends and family with, so I keep the secret to myself so they don't have to struggle with it too. For example, nobody on my crew - especially not my sister - knows about the experimentations the Director has been doing to me - it would hurt them dearly to find out, and I don't want that to happen at all."

Renn - "Bigotry and prejudice - especially when coming from humans who consider vampires as aberrations and dehumanize us as if we weren't people who felt pain or had dreams of our own. I also cannot stand cruelty and people who think they're better than others just because they have a certain amount of money or a specific station."

Tarrant - "I despise people who treat others like garbage just because they can, or when people think they're entitled to anything they want. Another thing that I hate is people who just want to use me or are generally creepy to me. It makes me uncomfortable and I hate it because there's nothing I can do against it as long as my contract binds me to my employer."

Cadenza - "People who spread rumors about others. Especially when it means they can gain something from it. Time and time again I've met people who absolutely destroyed another's life with their gossip just because they were jealous of that person. I also can't stand fake people or when someone is trying to be overly mocking or sarcastic. It makes my skin crawl and I want to hit them in the face."

Jack - "One of the things I hate the most in this whole world is oppressive governments who think they can take away the freedom and lives of innocent people just to achieve their goals. Fuck that. I also hate when people try to control or manipulate me - it's just the same feeling but on a smaller scale."

Deimos - "What makes my blood boil is people who are cowards or whose word means nothing to them. And people who think torture and brainwashing are okay just because they justify it in the name of "progress" - I've had my fair share of encounters with a specific someone like that. Never again."

Going into ripe right after liar dreamer thief was an unintentional mistake on my part. Both are stories about woman in incredibly stressful corporate jobs who force themselves to stay there because they cant fall back on family support and who also have almost magical manifestations of their mental illnesses that only they can interact with. The difference is the latter is actually interesting lol.

I would love to give you some backstory! (Also, if any of my TMFU folks are reading this and know where to stream it in the UK, please chime in!)

The good news is that for a lot of my AUs you probably don't need a huge amount of the background to appreciate the dynamic. It's a pretty classic enemies to friends to lovers setup, with the added bonus that (in the movie) they are actually true enemies rather than just people who dislike each other haha. I am going to put the rest of this behind a cut—no major spoilers for the movie, but it's gonna get long lol. So if anyone else also wants a character rundown + some important stuff about their dynamic so they can dive into some of my other fics, here's your primer!

Ok, so character rundown:

Napoleon Solo: aka "Cowboy," aka "The CIA's finest", formerly a top tier art thief who no one could catch, until he finally tripped up and got arrested. The CIA plucked him out of prison to work for them, and his handler still treats him like criminal dirt. Enjoys fancy cooking, classic yet fashionable suits, is utterly charming, a massive flirt, supposed to be the 'womanizer' but consistently shows a refreshing respect for women (especially given the James Bond comparison).

Illya Kuryakin: aka "Peril", aka "The youngest person to join the KGB", a giant (6'5"), inhumanly strong, super hostile and gruff exterior, surprisingly bad liar, polite king to little old ladies, actually softer than a marshmallow on the inside. His father was a Soviet official who got thrown in the gulag when he was a kid for embezzlement, forcing his mother into a kind of prostitution to survive. Probably resulting from that trauma, he suffers from dissociative episodes when he gets extremely upset in which he does things like trashes hotel rooms (his hands shake when he feels one coming on). Manipulated by his handler with threats of being sent to the gulag like his father. Favors turtlenecks and simple outfits, also a fashion snob. Extremely attached to his father's watch, which he wears.

Gaby Teller: aka "Chop Shop Girl", East German auto mechanic who's father was a nuclear scientist pulled out of Germany by the Americans during the war, leaving her behind as a kid. No-nonsense, prefers slacks when dressing herself, sometimes plays mother to our bickering boys. Possible alcohol problems.

Alexander Waverly: British Naval Intelligence, ultimately organizing the operation, a bit of an asshole but in a charming way, keeps together the team at the end as UNCLE (independent spy organization).

Victoria Vinciguerra: The evil mastermind. Napoleon sleeps with her at one point to save the operation, later she drugs him and leaves him to be tortured. Very tall, very fashionable.

Also other minor character you may come across in AUs: Oleg (Illya's KGB handler), Sanders (Napoleon's CIA handler), Alexander Vinciguerra (Victoria's husband), Rudi Teller (Gaby's Nazi uncle).

The main thrust of the movie is that Napoleon and Illya are both sent to East Berlin to try to extract Gaby for their own purposes, only to learn that they will actually be force to work as a team to take down the bad guys. They actively try to kill each other in not just their first but also second meeting. There's a scene where they argue over fashion while buying Gaby a new wardrobe that is *chef's kiss*. Extreme levels of banter and snark in every interaction. BUT, as these things go, they gain a grudging respect for each other. Napoleon saves Illya's life, Illya saves Napoleon's life. They work together as a team exceptionally well. By the end, they are trading extremely fond insults. There are moments of self-sacrificial plays to save a teammate you're not even supposed to like, gift giving, betraying your principles/agency for the other person. There is a canonical will-they-won't they between Illya and Gaby during the movie (one of the reasons another major ship in this fandom is an ot3 between them), but nothing actually happens.

I think that basically sums up their dynamic and gives you the backstory you'd need for the AUs especially. For the post-canon ones it's a little tricker since I'd rather not give away the main twist of the movie, BUT a lot of them are kind of "in the future working as a team already" setup that don't really reference movie events, so you'd honestly probably be fine there too.

The forty - eight year old had finished doing his errands, and sure it was late at night but Scotty knew he wasn't going to be able to sleep. When he couldn't sleep? The Gun range or the Boxing ring was where he headed but tonight, tonight Scotty wanted the Gun range. He had his cell phone placed between his ear and shoulder, telling Garrett to meet him there instead of their usual spot. "Look, I'm exhausted but I need to hit the range. Haven't in a long time. You up for it?" Scotty questioned, getting his gun from his belt loop and clicking the barrel to make sure it's not loaded yet. Taking a deep breath, Scotty held the gun and phone at the same time "Unless you want to get a drink or somethin? But I think the gun range is our best bet. Itll be like old times, in Brooklyn man. my Fallout characters at the moment are:

-Lucy (who is good and kinda naive at times but will kill you or bite your fingers off if she has to), open to all Fallout characters I find doable for her to interact with (listen, she'll ditch you if you are not good or neutral and she's not forced to be around you - and if she's forced it has to be temporary and plotted, they can't be hostile forever. The Ghoul is an exception because there are plenty canon reasons for them to stick together) -my oc Emma on smiletimeisrunningout who has a big modern/sci-fi verse with a Fallout variation, who has a terrible reputation and hunts down bad guys vigilante-style (but is actually a sweetheart who is affectionate and a bit of a flirt and started off as The Hero, but that's always just being one step away from beating people up in a dark alley), open to characters who I think would work well with her, exactly the same as Lucy -my AU grown up Janey "Coop" Howard with her own 'here's what happened' who still remembers how life was supposed to be before the bombing and is very very pissed off at life (and by the way if we write threads with her and Lucy isn't there, I can write Lucy as a part of it, to recognize her as Janey Howard. Mostly open to the Ghoul, Lucy and Maximus with a few more plotted main characters. -my oc Stella who is a conwoman/thief and would love to mind her business but ends up giving bottlecaps to people in need and conning powerful bad guys out of business, the perfect Liar (as in 100000 charisma points but too lazy and greedy to do anything else with it), probably mostly opened to mains because I feel like given her personality the only way to make sure she'd interact with others is for me to control how they meet and I don't like forcing people into plots

With all of the DID themed asks...

I've actually been kind of considering the possibility that I have it, or at least some form of it.

I haven't really had symptoms until pretty recently, probably within the last 6-8 months, and I'll be turning 23 later this month. I've been severely neglected my whole life, and during that time frame I mentioned, I was neglected to the point of severe malnourishment by my father, along with having massive screaming fights and just repeatedly being told I'm the worst person on the planet. A liar, a thief, a selfish piece of shit...I've been no contact with my biological mom for probably about 2 years now.

At some point, I realized I didn't recognize my parents anymore. And therefore, I had no parents at all. At the end of December, dad told me I had until January 31st after an extremely traumatic fight. The whole of January was miserable. I don't remember very much from the whole of November-February. What little I do remember are fragments of moments that last maybe a few seconds at most, and those have weeks in between.

I think I have exactly one alter, who just seems to be a much younger version of myself. My partner and my (adopted) big brother think she can't be older than 10 by the way she talks and interacts with them. I'm nonbinary and only go by they/them, but she goes by she/her and a completely different name.

I don't know what to do about it. I've started seeing a psychiatrist again, but I'm too scared to bring up the DID so soon (we've only had one appointment). Somehow, I feel like experiencing the symptoms so late means I don't have it at all, and I'm just extremely stressed. I don't know...

I can't really help you answer that question, first of all because I am definitely not the result of DID, and second of all because no stranger on the internet can confidently tell you whether you fit X diagnosis. But you definitely experienced severe trauma, and I think it's a good thing if you're exploring different potential labels to see if you recognize yourself in them. Even if you just do it in private at first. Just don't be too quick to officially label your experiences. There are more traumagenic disorders worth looking into than just DID, if you're doing that kind of self exploration. And I'm not saying you DON'T have DID, I'm just encouraging you to take your time to figure out which label best describes your experiences.

Just quickly reiterating my stances, but I don’t have much to say which I haven’t said already:

One of Brian’s main traits is that he defends people he likes to the death and that won’t change. He’s been that way his entire life. He’s loyal to a fault and is pretty gullible in a lot of ways, honestly. Loyal, gullible people are easy to manipulate.

He’s not going to change his stance on nenu. He’s simply not. I don’t think it’s productive to spend time thinking about this anymore as a result. People need to walk away from the situation if it upsets them that much. I disagree with him on this in every way, but it just is what it is.

I’ve thought for a while now that Brian shouldn’t interact with the fandom as much as he does. He’s always been eager to connect with fans, but it’s never a good idea for a celebrity to do so on the internet regularly tbh. Someone is always going to get hurt and I think he should put more distance between himself and the fandom, but is still unused to how internet fandom spaces function.

Nenu is still a sleazy liar (and now an art thief) and none of this would’ve caused alarm if he told the truth about his dog shit edits in the first place, but no, he’s a manipulative liar and he clearly panders to Brian’s good nature for clout (and, to a lesser extent, Phoebe’s). I’m all for continuing to drag him lol
