I read all of The Honest Life of a Game Studio and now I am obsessed do you have recs for anything like it.

I wish. I FUCKING WISH. but it’s really one of a kind. higefusa really just wrote mundane slice of life office drama with the level of detail that could only be provided by a gamer who has worked in the industry AND he threw in some life or death stakes as a treat. how often do we get an incredibly normal office worker stuck in time prison??? and it’s ONE ARC??? not often enough.

none of these are gonna be just like game-ya but in terms of romances with attention to detail for industry/niche fields… ok all of these are gonna be kind of weird so bear with me.

double section is a BL about an auditor for an insurance company and an insurance salesman, I wouldn’t necessarily give it a blanket rec but I liked how Passionate the main characters were about audits and workplace regulations. a lot of heated drama for the most normal office setting possible. in the author’s note the artist talks about interviewing health insurance salesmen.

ginmokusei is more of a conventional BL but it’s about a guy who inherited his grandpa’s tailor shop and an ex maître d who shows up and demands to help him before he goes bankrupt. there’s a little bit about branding and marketing and bank loans. what has Always Stayed With Me is when the love interest basically goes like ‘you’re using all these flashy ads and being really pushy with discounts. are you selling beef bowls.’ every time I pass a clothes shop that goes really flashy with the discount banners I think ‘are they selling beef bowls…’

panel x magic. okay I said it was going to be weird. so this yuri is about a recent graduate who applies for office jobs and ends up doing image editing for… I guess a brothel? it doesn’t go into critiques of the sex industry, but I thought it was interesting how it takes a really logistical perspective in terms of marketing, advertising, and image manipulation… one of the chapters has the main character going like ‘oh god I’m trying to edit this risqué photo by making the thighs thinner and giving the face a glow-up but I keep making the model look like a weird alien this looks like something from a photo booth’ and gets advice from her coworkers like ‘hey why don’t you look up makeup tutorials to get a sense of what to touch up.’ hasn’t been translated in a while but it kind of hits that… really in-depth look at the logistics of a job.

I think there’s more I’m not remembering at the moment, at one point I think sundry made a joke about rating office romances by how much office work is shown. there’s a couple ones that *kinda* fit but not really… wait. wait wait wait. WAIT. oh my god it has such a h•rny title. okay. so I’m being 100% sincere when I say that the main story for hammered and pounded is a BL with interesting office politics. it’s also incredibly h•rny, but game-ya gets pretty h•rny so whatever. but yeah there’s a whole subplot where the love interest, who works in sales, has actually always wanted to work in R&D, and it becomes A Whole Thing where the head of R&D is in conflict with the head of sales over whether or not a transfer is gonna happen and there’s no romance involved with the conflict it’s all office politics

and in a similar vein, to your right, you will see my boyfriend is about a guy who’s working as a tour guide in kyoto and at the artist talks about how she used to work as a tour guide. I think it’s fun, though I have my qualms. the main character does do studying about how to be an effective tour guide and goes from being like ‘ugh I’m saying all the facts but no one’s listening’ to ‘haha check out this extremely long name of the temple we’re about to see! make sure to remember it, it’ll be the password for getting off the bus ;D’

I have another category of vaguely similar vibes of genre bending mundane office work + fantastical situations

tokusatsu gagaga is a gen series that’s a BIG fave of mine, the main character is an OL who loves tokusatsu so she imagines a lot of scenarios with that sort of vibe. it’s not diagetic, but it’s really fun when it’s stuff like ‘I’M AT KARAOKE WITH MY COWORKERS BUT I CAN’T OUT MYSELF AS A TOKUSATSU OTAKU THIS IS JUST LIKE BEING ATTACKED BY A KARAOKE-THEMED MONSTER EMERJASON HELP ME!!!!’ the eng tl hasn’t been updated in a while but there’s a live action adaption that’s really good

magilumiere co. ltd. is a gen series that’s basically ‘what if magical girls were like… sanitation workers for monsters’ so it’s a lot of company logistics in a fantastical setting. I don’t think I got that far into it before getting distracted, but it was interesting (though perhaps overly generous/idealistic about start-ups as a concept).

Ok so I didn’t know exactly how to word this particular genre of Harry Potter fanfiction, but I have been reading some fanfics where either the teachers, Sirius or the golden trio find out that Harry has been abused by the Dursley’s and how Harry deals or heals from that trauma. #cupboardreveal

So... my thoughts on the latest season of Sex Education is a little... jumbled, but overall I give it, like, a 7/10. Here's just some of the parts that I liked and disliked (rmb that this is just my interpretation of watching it and is no way conclusive against other interpretations)

Likes

I like that Cavendish is kind of a turn-tables situation where queer/left-wing-progressive ppl are at the top of the social food chain. It realistically shows how even in a space where discrimination of any kind is prohibited, there will still be complex issues that need to be discussed, e.g., toxic positivity, accessibity issues etc.

I also like Eric's whole storyline of finding himself with God. I'm not religious or anything, but I feel his storyline are going to empower a lot of religious queer people.

Adam is always a favourite. His actor just brings so much to the table and his performance is always outstanding. His closure scene with Eric was 💖💖

I love that the show confronts Otis' standing of privilige and how he's sidelined his friendship with Eric. I also like how the main relationship that got repaired was his and Eric's. It's nice to see platonic friendships take the center stage over romantic ones.

I love that Maeve and Otis show how an amicable breakup, still full of love, can be. It shows that if you love someone, you'll love them enough not to hold them back.

Maeve's funeral speech, and her scene conversing with Jean at the dining table made me weepppppp.

I also loved the different ways of grieving the show shows with Maeve and Sean. Sean was clearly in pain, and as the older one, he'd probably seen a bit more shit than Maeve. And he was valid for not wanting to do the funeral because of the pain his mother caused him. But also, Maeve's wish to honour her mother one last time was commendable as well. She remembers the good AND the bad of her mother, and that's just really big of her.

I loved the scene with her telling her professor that a teacher's word holds a lot of power.

I love Maeve's arc entirely basically.

Dislikes

O's entire character was... problematic. Like she did quite a number of problematic things that weren't addressed in the storyline at all. Like she presses her way into other's vulnerabilities without them giving her explicit consent. She looks at things that by all terms, should have been left strictly confidential (Jean's paper about Otis, for example) and then brings it up as if it were a completely okay thing to do. I really wanted to like her, like I see where she was coming from and she has really cool style and she's the only East Asian rep for the show. Just, as an East Asian person watching this (though I'm not from the UK), it just felt very othering that the ONLY East Asian rep in the show had to be played against the main character. I didn’t like her because she was the story's antagonist to the main character. If there were other East Asians in the series, I might have felt better about it but like, O being the only one, and also being a problematic character just leaves a sour taste in my mouth.

I really think Adam's storyline could have been integrated more into the Cavendish storyline. Coz right now his just feels like it's hanging on the side with no real connection to the main plot. I love his horses tho.

The show should really have stuck with its existing characters rather than broadening the scope to... Jo, for example. Anwar and Olivia could have been explored. Idk what went on behind the scenes but like, for a final season, shifting the main focus to the main cast and just a couple new ones should have been enough. I love that it's working to be diverse and inclusive, but jam-packing so many different experiences into one last season just felt... jarring for the season's ending.

• ❤ Donny's headgear also works as noise cancelling headphones! He's often overwhelmed by background sounds and his gear makes it easier for him to live his life (either on missions or just spending time with his brothers and/or April). He still loves blasting his music on the highest volume tho. It's different when you consent to hearing your jams then when several people are talking at once and youre going crazy.

Tagging as kind of canon because he might have audio sensory issues because of his autism and you can reraly see him without the damn googles.

• 💜 He knows ASL! Though It's never said in the show why he learned it, I believe that because he goes nonverbal often. Everyone in the lair can sign a bit because of that, but not everybody is too good at it. Donatello can communicate in ASL fluently.

Gender

• 🧡 Donatello never really felt connected to being "a men" and categorising things as "for boys" and "for girls" always seemed dumb to him. Shortly after Leo's coming out as a trans men (SURPRISE LEO HEADCANON) he went to talk to him about his gender experience. After some thinking and digging, Don came to the conclusion that he is in fact nonbinary. He still uses mostly male pronounces but always appreciates gender neutral pronounces coming his way.

Sexuality

• 🧡 While realising his own gender he also figured out that he doesn't really sees gender that seriously in others either. Men or women, its pretty much whatever to him. He doesn't like to label himself much when it comes to his sexuality, he accepts reffering to him as a pansexual or bisexual.

• 🧡 When it comes to dating Donatello doesn't imagine himself with anyone, really. He finds himself attractive, but doesn't think anyone would fancy him in a romantic way. He's not interessted much in dating either way. But he doesn't exclude dating someone in the future. It's just he won't go out of his way to look for love.

• ❤/🧡 Its obvious Don is a men of science, he's a genius when it comes to coding, math, engineering, I would say chemistry as well. Thats the field he feels the most comfortable in, but he loves learning new things in general. As long as there is interesting knowledge he can obtain, he will be there, soaking it like a sponge. He likes listening to info dumps, and probably listens to long ass video essays and/or podcasts.

• 🧡 Don likes to learn about others people hobbys and takes interest in learning about it. He likes showing others that he cares about something, even though Its something totally indifferent to him. For example, he knows lot about art making process from Mikey (Angelo even made him paint with him a couple of times!) even tho he doesn't really likes drawing and/or famous artists. No many people appreciate his work so he wants to show his appreciation to others.

• 💜 He is pretty low empathy most of the time. It's hard for him to relate to others, and can often feel like someone is overreacting. It's also challenging for him to put his feelings "out there". Which often makes him look unloving or unfriendly. And it couldn't be farther from the truth. He loves his brothers even though they bother him most of the time. And he loves April as well (though she never really troubled him much). He never really thinks that his low empathy is a flaw (more often he thinks about it as a blessing) but there rare are moment when he feels helpless because of it. He is glad that his family knows that he truly cares about them (and accepts any effort he puts in to express his feelings, even if it seems small).

• 🧡⭐ I've seen people headcanoning Donny as a baker and honestly I like it a lot. Cooking is Mikeys domain, and it suits him well, as it allows a lot of freestyling and just overall feeling. Baking and pastry making is very calculated and one miatake can ruin the whole thing. It reminds Don of engineering in a sense. Also baking is an easy way to get love and appreciation from his family because, cmon, he just made the most angelic fruit tarts in the whole universe, of course they're going to praise him. It also works as a stress relief. When feeling stumped and/or overwhelmed over a project or a situation he'll make something easy like brownies to get his mind of it.

• 🧡 He's very sentimental. He loves receiving gifts and will cherish and use them (even if he doesn't like it). He still has every "gamers dont die they respawn" Tshirt and every "dont fuck with my brother he was born in october and has autism" mug. Sometimes he REALLY wants to throw something away but god damn it this is painting Mikey did when he was ten and is just five splats of paint and thinking about him somehow finding out and crying about it might destroy him forever.

• 🧡⭐ This bitch reads fanfics, thats it. It started when he was around 13 or smth with Atomic Lass x Reader and now he knows all the fanfic lingo. He still might read something from time to time and writes very long and well written comments (with constructive criticism).

• 🧡 Speaking of which, Don writes perfect sentences while texting. All the correct spelling and punctuation. He also communicates with emojis and gifs like a millenial.

Food, TW: drinking!

• 🧡 He has a rather strong head, you cant make him drunk that easily. But when it finally happens, youre in for a ride. Shutting him up is near impossible, he will talk non-stop but with much less eloquence then while sober. Its extremely easy to make him laugh, so Leo absolutely loves it. He often looses track of what hes saying and starts completely different rant. Overall a chaotic mess. Really fun to witness it at least once. His beverage of choice is either fun cocktails or beer (tho rarely and/or only with some kind of juice because he doesn't like the fizziness on his tongue).

• 🧡 And that takes us to Donatello that hates fizzy drinks. He hates carbonated beverages, no matter if its cola or champagne. The feeling on his tongue and in his mouth makes him really uncomfortable. When there is no other choice but to drink up some bubbless, he leaves it open for as long as he can to get rid of them. His brothers despise him for that.

• 🧡 He doesn't like weird food combos either and is rather picky. When ordering food Don sticks to what he knows not to risk an uncomfortable texture touching his mouth. Texture is the most often reason for him not liking a specific food. Donnys pretty strict to preparing food as well (the way he does a thing is The Correct Way and no other exception is acceptable). Also he puts milk first so his cereal doesn't get soggy.

• 🧡 I feel like he likes fruit juices in boxes and fruit mousses but this is pretty random 🤷

• ❤/🧡 He wears contacts! We've seen little Donny with glassess, so I assumed he wears contacts now. When he knows he will be spending all day in the lair (for example because of an injury) he still has a pair of glassess he uses. And yes, he tapes them to the head. Because he rarely ever wears them, he never came up with a solution for not having ears and needing glassess.

• 🧡 ABSOLUTELY hates smoking. Will go on a rant if he sees someone he knows smoking. He absolutely despises the smell and WILL take it out of someones mouth/hand and throw it away. Appreciates the fun smells of vapes but still hates them. Will call vapers losers (maybe not exacly in these words but he will for sure).

• 🧡 Really good at makeup, but not as good as Leo is (ANOTHER SURPRISE LEO HEADCANON). He spend years perfecting his eyebrows of course. He also wears eyeliner because serving cunt is important even on the battlefield. From time to time you can see his nails painted as well.

• 🧡⭐ While being flustered or simply distracted he stutters a lot, mostly in a way of repeating whole words or parts of a sentence ("Its good because- Its good- Its good because I um- Its good-")

• 🧡 Enjoys taking very long baths, and actually prefers them much more then showers. Can stay underwater for a rather long time as well!! Being fully submerged calms him down a lot and its overall very relaxing for him.

• 🧡⭐ Ive seen a lot of takes that without his battle shell, he is really flexible (due to having a soft shell). And I like the idea. I think, that before sitting infront of a screen (or a desk in general) to do his work for several hours he stretches deeply so his back won't be so sore later. Also a reason to draw Donny in yoga poses and thats always cool.

• ❤ Makes up shit to fuck with his brothers. Like just spreading misinformation and gaslighting them for shit and giggles. Or to get them to leave him alone for a while. Also will gaslight them if they somehow find out that he was lying ("what? you must have heard me wrong then 🙄💅")

• 💜/❤ Loves singing and dancing!!! Aint the best singer (tho I love his songs in the show Im kissing him as we speak) but is a gorgeous dancer! He finds it incredibly fun and feels fabulous while doing it. Also Im pretty sure dancing counts as stimming so add it to the list. Dances solo like 90% of the time but really enjoys dancing in pairs (dances with April a whole lot when they get the chance!).

• ❤ He rarely laughs out loud, but when he does it is loud and messy. A good joke can make him think about it all day and continue laughing for a long time. Not my og take, Ive seen this headcanon before and I love it so so much :3

• 🧡 From all his brothers, he kind of wishes to be human the most of them all. Its not a big big wish, he does think of himself as very unique individual and takes pride of being a mutant. But sometimes while hanging out with April he can get lost in his thoughts of "what ifs". Maybe in the process of making a cloaking accessory.

• 🧡 His handwriting is god-awful. All scribly and fucked up like Doctors writing. Unfamiliar eye would not decipher a word out of it, but Don knows exactly what everything means. But he mostly writes digitally.

• ❤ Dons dislike of hugging is canon, but I do believe he likes being touched on his head and face (head pats, cheek rubs, scratches). He enjoys hand holding when it's appropriate as well.

• 💋 Im headcanoning the boys to go through mating season once a year (except mikey cuz he small) everyone at a different time. It would be similiar to an ovulation but much more horny (with also fever symptoms). Don would be the second after Raph to get it. While in heat he doesn't go feral or anything, but after a few days stops working because he cant focus on his craft. Waves of sudden temperature changes (mostly high heat) with really horny thoughts and hypersensitivity to pretty much everything...yeah not the best work environment. He spends his  most intensive days closed off in his lab or room because he really doesn't want his family to see him like this (the rest of the turtles are in thier rooms during thier mating time as well for the same reason). Also add being possessive while having a SO, and also veeery easy to irritate.

• 💋 Donny takes on a more submissive role while being intimate, even though he loves to be in charge all the time. But he isn't a bottom either, I would put him perfectly in the middle as a switch (more leaning on that sub part tho).

• 💋 His biggest turn on is smell. Like someones natural smell, no perfumes and all. He likes to snuggle in the crook of the neck and take it all in. This becomes cranked up to eleven during mating season, as he absolutely cannot stop sniffing. Would love his significant other to leave him clothes with thier smell on it and sleep and/or snuggle with it.

ALSO BITCHY BLOND WHO RUNS THE WORLD LAURENT I LOVE YOU SO MUCH (no fr Laurent is out here playing real life chess and Damen just stands by like “whatever you want sweetheart”)

Also Will has never done anything wrong I love him so much!!! Some of the organizations in this frustrated me a lot tho like why are you so stupid????? (They deserved their fate I’m not even sorry)

this book has all the right themes and messages:

the starless sea (stand alone): do you love books and reading? Then this is for you! Everything is connected and I mean EVERYTHING. So magical and cool and beautiful written. Had me spinning in circles while I was trying to connect all the dots (I didn’t connect shit)

You were kneeling in the church pew, your forehead leaning against your clasped hands. In them was your rosary, the crucifix and strand of beads dangling between your fingers. You found yourself with furrowed eyebrows as you prayed, a sense of annoyance filling you when you couldn’t think of the right words, quietly stumbling over the whispered prayer. It wasn’t long before you exhaled an irritated sigh, murmured an apology, and leaned back on your heels as your hands dropped themselves into your lap.

“Sister, are you alright?” An accented voice spoke from behind you and you jumped, head turning around to greet the person. It was Father Copia. He greeted you with a kind smile, and the sight of his different colored eyes sent a chill up your spine as it did most times.

Not an entirely unpleasant feeling, although, it happened each time you were alone with the man.

“Father! I-” You found yourself trying to scramble to stand before Copia quickly shook his head, his hands motioning for you to stay kneeled. You couldn't help the blush that grew on your face as he came closer to you, the man now kneeling next to you in the pew.

“You do not need to stand, Sister, it’s quite alright.” His kind smile did not waver as he kneeled next to you, a small huff leaving him as he settled on his knees. The two of you were silent for a few moments before he cleared his throat.

“You’ve been in here for quite some time. You like to make sure your Lord hears you correctly, no?”

There it was again. Your Lord. Not our like you heard from everyone else in the church. You eyed Copia a bit nervously before slowly nodding at his question. “I..” You sighed, looking ahead at nothing in particular. Your eyes happened to settle on a stained glass window of Virgin Mary. You always found yourself looking at that one. Even though made of glass, the depiction of her made her seem kind and understanding. It was comforting. “Yes.. Father. Although, I don’t think I could even get a complete sentence out tonight.” You admitted quietly, hands clutching your rosary tightly.

The man hummed in understanding to your words, his own eyes following where yours were looking. “What is on your mind, Sister? If you don’t mind me asking.”

And that too. He always made sure you were okay speaking with him, that you wanted to. Not that there was an issue with that, but the other priests did not give you a choice when asking you to admit what was on your mind.

You found yourself hesitating a moment before your eyes fell downcast, focusing on the rosary in your hands. “I found out this morning that one of my residents from when I worked in a care home has passed away. Not that it’s.. surprising, he was 80 or so years old,” You found yourself smiling at the memory of the man. “But I didn’t have a chance to say goodbye, and it-” You felt a lump form in your throat now, eyes burning. You cleared your throat, tears spilling over when you blinked.

A gloved hand covered your own hands, the leather warm against your cold ones. His thumb rubbed against the back of your right hand comfortingly, his hand now holding both of yours. “It’s okay to cry, Sister. You do not need to hide it or your thoughts around me. I do not see it as weakness or lack of faith.”

Any other priest in the clergy would have asked why you would have needed to say goodbye when you knew you would see him again in the afterlife. That the thought of being able to see him again one day should be comforting enough, that he's with the Lord now and safe once more.

Copia removed his hand from your own and you tried to ignore the drop in your stomach at the loss of contact. You looked over at the man as he dug in the hidden pocket of his black cassock before a soft “ah” left his mustached lips. He pulled out a dark red handkerchief and held it out towards you.

“It is clean, Sister, I promise.” He gave you a small smile again, forehead creased as he watched you with concern.

You couldn’t help the sad laugh that bubbled out of you at his statement, murmuring a quiet ‘thank you’ before using the soft fabric to pat your cheeks dry.

“I can see you cared quite a lot for this resident.” Copia’s voice was gentle as he watched you and you shrugged your shoulders, feeling small under his mismatched gaze. “No, do not...” He paused, trying to think of the right words. “You did, and that’s okay, Sorella. You’re allowed to be sad about his passing.”

You were fiddling with the now damp handkerchief, eyes still downcast towards your lap. It was silent between the two of you for a few moments before you furrowed your eyebrows, feeling something embroidered in the handkerchief.

“Ah, Y/N-..” 

You unfolded the fabric to find an upside down cross. It was different than your regular every day cross, it seemed to have a circle with it, almost making the upside down crucifix look like a G.

You felt your mouth go dry, face dropping as you studied at the embroidered cross. You could feel Copia’s eyes on you.

“...Father, why do you have this?” Your voice was quiet as you hesitantly looked over at the man next to you. You felt a twist in your lower abdomen at the sight of him looking at you. It seemed his white eye was almost glowing as he stared at you.

You could tell he was choosing his words carefully.

“You know, Sister,” he reached a gloved hand out towards you once more. He gave you enough time to pull your hands away if you did not want to be touched or held. You didn’t move.

Copia took your right hand as he turned more towards you on the floor, your left hand now holding the handkerchief and rosary. He took a breath before continuing. “I was sent to this church for you specifically.”

Your stomach dropped again. You weren’t sure how much more twisted it could get. “What? What do.. what do you mean?”

“My church sent me here for you,” He explained as if it were simple, “We had heard about you. The Sister that does not quite fit in. The Sister who wears her heart on her sleeve, who refuses to hurt another who does not follow the same faith or questions it- the Sister that those wavering in their faith go to knowing she will not judge.”

All of those things were true, yes, although you spent hours repenting against your sins of questioning. Your sins of unholy and sinful thoughts. The sin of thinking differently.

You felt warm under Copia’s gaze, your ears burning hot. You couldn’t tear your eyes away from him.

“What faith do you practice, Father?” Your voice was quiet, hesitant. You weren’t sure if you wanted to know the answer.

“I think you know, mia cara.” A gloved hand reached up towards your cheek, his thumb warm against your skin as he wiped your new tears away. His voice was as soft as the leather that made his black gloves. You couldn’t help but lean into his touch, subconsciously turning more towards him.

“You know, I am not even a priest?” His words brought you out of your daze and you blinked, looking up at Copia in confusion as he continued to rub your cheek with his thumb. “Sí, yes, it’s true. I’m a Cardinal in my church, higher up than your regular priest, I suppose. I guess you could say I was.. undercover?”

You were silent as Copia spoke, still watching him carefully but not daring to move. Even when admitting he was a worshiper of Satan he still made your chest swell with a feeling you of which you weren’t sure to call. The corner of your mouth twitched a bit in amusement at his words. Undercover.

“Yes, F-..” You took a stuttered breath. “Cardinal. I know what a Cardinal is. Most people do.”

“Twinge of a smile I see, signorina?” The Cardinal’s voice was still gentle, surprise evident in his tone. “Does this mean it will be easier to take you back with me than we thought?”

You felt your stomach twist again, your mouth going dry. Betray God? Eternal damnation? Sure, you had your own ideas about Heaven and Hell and your faith in general but you had kept them to yourself, scared to be outcast or worse. Except for when-

“Bible study.” You mumbled, realization dawning on you. “When you would..call me into your office. For Bible study.”

The man nodded, watching you curiously. “I wanted to know your true thoughts. You know, they are very similar to my church’s beliefs. I could see why they sent me here to recruit you.” He gave you a smile, thumb still brushing your drying cheek. “You had opened up easier for me than I thought you would, Sorella, considering I was still quite new.”

“And you never corrected me for my.. opinion.” You would be lying if you didn’t feel the slightest bit foolish for thinking he was just different than the others in the clergy.

Well, he was.

It was then you realized he had been inching closer to you during your conversation, that he was now facing you in the floor of the pew you two had been kneeling in, his face only a few inches from yours, free hand holding the back of the benched seat in front of the two of you. You swallowed as his gloved hand moved down from your cheek to the back of your neck, his hold on you still light, gentle, allowing you to pull away at any moment if you pleased.

Once again you didn’t move.

Copia watched you carefully before leaning forward, mouth near your ear. You could feel his breath against your skin and you tried to suppress the involuntary shiver that left you, heat pooling in your lower abdomen.

“Leave with me, dolcezza.” It was almost a command. The only one he had ever given you. You blushed at the pet name. “They will never know.” He leaned in closer, nose brushing against your ear. “Or maybe they would. Maybe they will think I took you, the strange new priest-” it came out as a quiet hiss, it was no question people were wary of his different characteristics and mannerisms- “or maybe they will think you seduced me and we left to be damned forever, together.”

It was almost as if on cue a bright light flashed throughout the church from the windows, followed a second later by a distant roar of thunder. Your free hand clutched Copia’s cassock at his words, the other that still held the handkerchief and rosary trembling. His hand on your neck tightened just so, enough for you to whimper and tilt your head to the side. A silent message of consent.

Copia inhaled deeply before he smiled, eyes squinting. “No one would hear us, Sister.” His voice was still quiet, followed by another flash of light and rumble of thunder from the storm brewing outside. “Not with the storm. And it’s dark enough in here, no? With just the candles?”

You turned your head to look at the Cardinal with wide eyes, your grip on his robes unwavering. Despite the smile his stare was intense, hungry, his white eye stark in the darkness.

Give in to the temptation? You could get up right now, go back to your room, pretend this never happened. Pray for forgiveness. The Satanic Cardinal would probably be gone by morning, disappearing into the night forever.

Or you could disappear with him.

“Our Lord loves a sinner, Sister. Celebrates it, really. Almost the whole point...” It was almost as if he read your racing thoughts. You felt your face flush warmer at his words. You hesitated a moment, your eyes taking a quick, sweeping glance around the empty chapel before you pulled Copia towards you and closed the gap, your mouth crashing against his.

You swore you heard him growl against your lips, the hand that was around your neck immediately taking a possessive hold on you. His mustache scratched against your upper lip and you dropped the handkerchief and rosary, your other hand coming up to cup his face as you opened your mouth to his prodding tongue.

A squeal left you as you fell back on your ass, the tile floor cold through your skirt. Your legs came back in front of you, the floor length skirt of your habit pooling around your thighs. You wrapped your legs around Copia’s waist best you could manage to, pulling him on top of you as you fell onto your back.

The man grunted against you as he tried to soften your drop to the floor before he pulled back, staring down at you with blown away look in his eyes.

“May I?” His hand that had been on the back of your neck reached up, tugging on your veil gently as if to accentuate his question.

You felt yourself hesitate. This was it. You were giving in. The faking and lying each day leading to this moment. You nodded, closing your eyes at the feeling of Copia pulling the fabric from your head, revealing your hair that was hidden underneath.

He was silent longer than you would have liked. You opened your eyes to find him still staring down at you, his jaw slack.

“You’re beautiful, mia cara.”

You blushed at his words, not sure how to respond. He smiled at your bashfulness, gloved hand cupping your cheek again, his other inching up your thigh and under your skirt.

“What do you say, Sister?” Copia leaned down over you, face nuzzling into your neck as his hand inched higher, more inward towards your core. He inhaled deeply as he reached your underwear, fingers stopping at the hem of the thin garment. “Will you give yourself to me?” His hand that was on your cheek was now holding himself up over you as he nipped at your skin. Your eyes snapped back open and a gasp tore itself from your throat as Copia bit down on the base of your neck as soon as you gave your answer, the man all but growling again as his hand pushed your underwear to the side. A gloved finger teased at your entrance, circling just so before he slowly pushed into you. You brought a hand up to your mouth to muffle your gasps, your eyes rolling back as Copia brushed against that sensitive spot inside of you.

Copia pulled away from your neck to look at your face, expression feral as he took you in under him, strands of hair falling into his face. He shuffled himself back onto his knees so he was kneeling before you, your legs spread wide for him as he continued his languid movements. His free hand brought one of your legs up, your ankle now near his head. He pressed a few wet kisses to whatever patch of skin of yours he could reach, groaning against your leg as he continued his slow movements with you.

“Oh, Satanas, you love a good orgasm, sí,” He watched with a darkened gaze as he pulled his hand from you, the finger and knuckles surrounding it wet on his glove, “this one will be a good one...”

Your eyes snapped open at the action and you watched him, your breathing becoming more labored as he continued his assault below.

“Perhaps they went to his office again. He’s been helping her with Bible study, Sister. You know she’s been struggling lately.”

Copia couldn’t help the soft chuckle that escaped his lips as he looked down at you under him, his thumb pressing against your clit once more as his fingers still worked inside of you, your mouth opening under his hand, “Yes, Bible study.” He murmured, leaning down to press a kiss to the tip of your nose.

An involuntary moan tore itself from your throat, muffled against Copia’s glove as your hips continued to try to roll against his hand. The Cardinal grinned at your reaction before it faltered.

“What was that?”

A flash of light followed by the crash of thunder filled the building. You froze under Copia, the man above you stilling his actions.

“It’s windy outside, Father, I’m sure it’s just the old building.” The Sister responded, the man with her making a noise of uncertainty.

“I suppose. Come on, let’s make sure power is still on in the rest of the monastery.”

The two of you stayed still as you heard their footsteps come closer, Copia cursing under his breath, mismatched eyes darting in the direction they were coming from. You watched Copia with bated breath as you waited for them to pass by.

They passed down the aisle by the two of you without a passing glance, soon the slam of a door confirming their leave. You exhaled through your nose a sigh of relief, eyes rolling back as you all but deflated against the floor.

“Oh, amore, I for sure thought we’d be caught.” Copia’s words were soft, his hand leaving your mouth to tangle in your hair. He continued his movements inside of you now, a surprised whine tearing itself from your lips, no longer muffled by his hand.

You reached a hand up to grab Copia by the back of his neck, pulling his mouth to yours. “Please,” your words were muffled by the kiss and the man made a questioning noise. “Please, Cardinal..”

“Please what?” He pulled back to look down at you, expression expectant. “Use your words, what are you demands of me?”

You felt your stomach tighten at his words. You had never experienced anything like this before. His hand that had been fingering you below was now gripping your hip, fingers warm against your skin.

“I…” you found yourself flushing with embarrassment, face impossibly warm.

Copia’s expression softened. Your name fell from his lips sweetly. “I’m sorry, dolcezza, I know this is not easy for you. I shouldn’t be so… ah,” he sighed before leaning down, pressing a kiss to your cheeks, forehead, and then your lips. It was not missed by you that it was in the same pattern as crossing yourself before or after prayer- right, left, up, down.

You found yourself smiling a bit in amusement once more, although the sweet actions didn’t help alleviate the new, almost empty feeling ache between your legs. “Please, Copia,” you reached a hand up, fingers tangling in his hair as you scratched at his scalp. The man over you groaned at the feeling, forehead leaning against yours as his eyes fell shut. “Take me. I want you so badly, more than anything I’ve ever wanted, please-“

His eyes snapped open as your words became ones of begging, expression once again turning to one of a certain level of ferocity. He kissed you rather roughly, his hips now pressing against yours as you wrapped your legs around his waist.

You moaned into his mouth as the feeling of him against your center, hands reaching down to pull his cassock apart. Thankfully it was buttons, easy to snap open. Copia pulled back with a labored gasp, reaching down to undo his belt before he pushed his pants and boxers down. He reached a hand under your habit’s skirt and tore your panties from your body, the sound of tearing fabric filling the chapel.

It was then the Cardinal leaned back on his knees, eyes emotionless as he looked you over. You felt another drop in your stomach as he kept his gaze on you before you yelped as you were flipped, your stomach suddenly against the floor as you were pulled back to him by your legs. You were lifted onto your knees with ease and you shivered at the feeling of your habit’s skirt being pushed up over your ass, his fingers groping as he pushed the heavy fabric up to expose you, the skirt now pooling around your waist. You propped yourself up on your elbows, your face and neck burning in embarrassment at how exposed you were to him.

You heard him inhale behind you before the feeling of his hot breath exhaling over your wet core sent another shiver throughout your body. His teeth grazed the skin of one of your cheeks before he moved back, now lining himself up with you.

Your head dropped down against the old, tile floor as you waited for Copia, the man behind you letting out a deep chuckle.

Soon another flash of lightning filled the chapel, followed by the loudest clap and crackle of thunder yet. A different chill ran up your spine, goosebumps raising along your skin.

You heard Copia growl against your neck again, his movements picking up pace. “Non soli sumus, soror.” He reached the hand that had been bracing himself over you up, pulling your hair back, forcing you to crane your neck to see him. His white eye was glowing and he craned his own head forward to capture your mouth in a sloppy kiss. He pulled back with a gasp, grin wicked. “He is here, Sorella, watching us. Watching me make you His, make you mine.”

Your cheek was pressed against the cold ground as Copia let go of your hair, eyes rolling back as you moaned, the sound of skin slapping skin filling the chapel between claps of thunder. Your fingers attempted to dig against the tile, desperate to hold onto something. A tension was building in your lower abdomen, your legs attempting to spread wider for Copia as his thrusts started to pick up pace.

A sob tore itself from your throat, involuntary tears sprouting from your eyes. “Yes,” You gasped, eyes falling shut, “Please, Copia- Cardinal, Father-” You started to babble as pleasure started to wash over you, your limbs trembling as you came undone under him. A sound between a sob and a cry wracked your body, legs shaking as Copia continued to ride you through your orgasm.

You couldn’t help the snorted laugh that left you, your first few steps a bit unsteady as the two of you began to walk towards the main doors of the chapel. “No, Copia.” You agreed, amusement evident in your voice.

Copia shared your laugh, his other hand holding yours that held onto his arm. He opened the door for the both of you and you looked up at the sky as you stepped outside, your eyebrows furrowing. It was perfectly clear, stars twinkling in the night sky. The only evidence there was a storm was the smell of rain that filled your senses, and the certain crispness in the air.

“The storm is gone.” Your voice held confusion, your grip tightening on Copia’s arm as the two of you started to walk through the courtyard.

“Hm? Yes.” He smiled down at you, giving your hand a gentle squeeze. He frowned at your creased brow. “Amore, you did not think it was a real storm, did you?”

You opened your mouth to respond before you blushed once again that evening. “Oh.”

Copia’s smile returned and he stopped once the two of you had reached the middle clearing of the large courtyard. It was surrounded by tall shrubs, mostly used by those wishing to sit outside and have a moment of peace or privacy. He glanced around before pressing a chaste kiss to your lips.

You made a noise as he pulled away, eyes growing wide. “Copia!” You hissed, looking around the hidden clearing.

The man smiled, mismatched eyes squinting as he looked down at you. He pressed another kiss to your cheek before continuing down the pathway towards where your dorm was located. “You know, I quite like the sound of my name coming from you.”

You felt a tug in your chest at his admission, a smile tugging at the corner of your mouth. “You know, I quite like the sound of mine from yours as well, Cardinal.” You whispered his title, the sound of him chuckling warming your heart, “I suppose that’s one of the ways you won me over.”

“Oh? Just that?” He hummed, turning towards you as the two of you reached the main door of your dormitory. “Nothing else?”

You shrugged, allowing yourself to drop Copia’s arm as your smile grew. “Nothing comes to mind.”

Copia laughed before he returned your smile, his gaze soft as he looked down at you. He sighed after a moment, a gloved hand reaching up to brush a piece of your hair that had slipped from your veil. You frowned a bit at his change in demeanor and you crossed your arms as a breeze blew past the two of you, a chill running up your once sweaty spine.

“If you would still like to join me, meet me here before morning mass tomorrow. While it is still dark.” His voice was soft, only for you to hear. “Or, if you wish, you can stay. I will be gone and respect that decision you made, Sister.”

You felt your knees grow weak, that nervous twist in your stomach from earlier returning.

“I see you are still nervous.” His tone was cool, as if he were trying to protect himself.

“I am.” You looked down at your crossed arms and you shifted your weight from one foot to the other, a blush crossing your cheeks at the feeling of the sticky mess between your legs. “But I am a nervous person.” You looked back up, giving Copia a small smile. “I will see you in the morning, Cardinal.”

You hesitated a moment before you leaned up on your toes, pressing a kiss to Copia’s cheek as a silent promise, not caring who might see. The man’s shoulders seemed to sag in relief, and he returned your smile. 

“Goodnight, Copia.”

“Goodnight, Y/N.” He gave your hand one final squeeze before turning to leave, heading back towards the chapel. He paused, glancing back at you. “I will let them know you and I had a private session so they don’t come looking for you.” 

You stifled a giggle, bringing your hand to your mouth. The two of you shared one final smile before you turned to go inside the building, realization now hitting you. 

You had to pack if you were going to go with the Cardinal.

but honestly, even when i was a kid, younger than pucca even, it always bothered me how garu was the punchbag in most episodes. and the worst part is, he was always pucca's victim. at least the 2007/08 pucca cartoon romanticized stalking. pucca does the absolute worst things to get garu's attention, usually by kissing him without his consent or even outright kidnapping him, even though garu in this series never showed that he liked pucca back. EVER. if that ever happened, it was never the real garu, or he would be under some magical effect. all garu wanted was to be a ninja and go fishing or whatever. once he even preferred GOING TO JAIL than to be with pucca.

still, the show tries to shove down your throat that pucca and garu were meant to be and all the other characters encourage pucca to keep pursuing garu. none of the adults, not even pucca's uncles/guardians, try to tell her that like. kissing your crush without their consent is wrong. they just think it's cute. because she's a little girl.

to this day, when i see ppl talking about this show, they still romanticize pucca and garu's relationship. and it's really fucked up. like i know i saw through it when i was younger, but it concerns me that other kids probably didn't have the same realization, and the new fans won't either. i very rarely find people calling out the issues with pucca, and when they do, they will always be harassed by a legion of fans saying "it's just a kids show". one person even assumed i hated kids for some goddamn reason.

i know it might seem random mentioning pucca here, since it's very different from spop (pucca is definitely not on catra's level), but the fans always use the same arguments, that it's a kids show and we don't understand "true love". also because the abuser here is a girl, and to many people, women can never be abusers. (unless you're Evil and "ugly" like shadow weaver tho)

no yeah, i think pucca is in a very similar state as spop. no one thinks there's anything wrong with the main pairings. even though pucca is like, a decade older than spop, i find the fandoms very similar. they simply gloss over abuse because both pucca and spop do not take the abuse seriously. garu and adora are treated like jokes, or prizes to be earned by pucca and catra.

although, i don't respect what sand did - i just love him for it lol that man is insane 🤣 he finally did something interesting to me🫢 and the fact that he did it, knowing how much it would hurt ray in the process? just the rotten cherry on top of the shit sundae he served that friend group. now that is messy. and at least he seems to actually understand the gravity of how fucked up what he did was once he saw the consequences, unlike boston😒 who really had the gall to say that he "let" topmew have their happily ever after, after he had tried to sleep with top again and continued to lie to him about mew and ray - only leaving top alone because top finally stood up for himself, pushed him away, and shamed him about it.

the point is that all these characters are flawed; they'd be boring otherwise. that's the case in literally all storytelling. does BL fandom think that all their faves in other series are perfect? no one is perfect.

however, top's flaws are what make him perfect to me. he's a well-crafted character who is fun to watch. plus, if you make a list of all his "sins" and "faults," he doesn't compare even slightly to these other characters. besides mew (uh, at least before ep6 lol), he's literally the least messy of them all - he's just a mean girl, who slept with someone else because the objectively worst of them tricked him through some of the nastiest, most underhanded means i have ever seen. all his other negatives aren't even unique to him - in fact, he seems to be the only one of the boys (besides mew) who doesn't do anything nasty unprovoked. we've seen in literally every episode what he said here is true:

and even when ray "messed with" top by telling him he wanted to give whoever punched him in the face a trophy (because *checks notes* top was irritated that ray raised his voice about mew not wanting to leave the party. and that he's dating mew... that's it lmao ray was rude just from top hitting on mew. he didn't even know him yet! what kind of "if i can't have him no one can" kinda bullshit is that? wtf ray, grow up! ), top just stared at him sadly - and that was when he still thought that ray was sleeping with mew.

every (idk, i might be missing a couple) other "flaw" of top's could be used to describe other characters in the group:

"smug" because he's hot and rich (ray)

"smug" because he's "good at sex" (boston)

promiscuous (boston)

drug user (ray)

lying/not telling mew about sleeping with boston (boston and nick)

"betrayed" mew by sleeping with someone else (boston)

not mentioning that someone kissed him without consent (mew)

punches someone in the face (sand, ray, boston, and mew lol)

he "stole" (tbh i'm not convinced) someone's lover (boston)

and guess what? he's stopped doing all of those things. (i'll concede this: he might get in another fight later. i hope not, i'm a little over all the punching soz mew can have his attempted drowning of boston tho, i won't complain about that.) (and he's definitely going to relapse and take mew's pills, probably in the next episode. but at least he's stopped before then - i haven't seen any evidence that ray has ever tried to get sober.) can't say the same for the other characters.

meanwhile, negative things he hasn't done that others have:

violated consent (boston and ray)

instigated a physical fight (sand and ray)

insisted that the person he was seeing was "just a friend" (ray and boston)

recorded someone without their consent (nick and boston)

made fun of mew for being a virgin (boston)

smashed his own phone into pieces so he could steal a sex tape (sand omg i really cannot get over how truly insane that was)

hit the person he's sleeping with (boston and ray)

drove while drunk/high (ray)

got high and sent his best friend a sex tape of his boyfriend with their other friend ON HIS BIRTHDAY, AT THE BIRTHDAY PARTY WHERE BOTH OF THEM WERE (ray lol also can't get over that one. and everyone saying he did it with "good intentions" like nah just because he knew that mew wouldn't fall in love with him over it, doesn't mean that he didn't do it out of revenge against boston and top - even if he thought he was avenging mew. ON HIS BIRTHDAY, BITCH. maybe he convinced himself he was doing the right thing, but he did it because he was angry and high.)

exposed his friend's darkest secrets about their love lives to their partners, only to hurt them because he's miserable (boston and ray)

and i don't think top would. (maybe the driving while drunk/high but based on the kind of drugs he likes, i don't think he'd be able to, like, stand let alone get in a car lol but we'll see.)

and by compiling this list, i don't mean to say that all these characters are evil, except boston, and by his own admission lol,

or that they're bad characters, just that the hate top gets is ridiculous and disproportionate. i'm not even saying that you have to like him, just don't exaggerate his faults or blame him for all the shit boston did to him. oh, you hate him based on "vibes?" don't act like it's not because he's played by force and you don't care about forcebook. it's not subtle😒 we can see your clown shoes😒

GTO Review

Great Teacher Onizuka is a beloved and iconic series and in this post I'll talk about both the things I absolutely adored about it and my frustrations.

So, right off the bat I'm gonna mention that I don't often laugh hysterically while watching anime (or anything really) but somehow GTO managed to have a buncha moments so ridiculous that my only possible reaction was pretty much set in stone...

The humour and character writing are both plain genius!! I could never for the life of me predict what Onizuka's next move would be. His recklessness and luck, as well as his gullible and kind nature added a lot to his complexity as a character.

In the artistic department, we got the banger openings and EDs, the on-point animation and variation in facial expressions. In terms of voice acting, every VA fit well and every character's lines were delivered perfectly, tho my personal faves were undeniably Urumi and Miyabi. Kotono Mitsuishi's vocal range and her accurate French pronunciation were a pleasant surprise but I also liked the bite and seriousness Miyabi's voice had, while it was also laced with uncertainty and her screams in that parking lot were simply harrowing ngl, I was 🤏 this close to crying during that scene.

And now, about my frustrations that gave me mixed feelings on the series despite how much I enjoyed every episode, except for the Yoshikawa/Anko part in those last few episodes during the Okinawa arc. It was just unpleasant to watch, honestly. I think Yoshikawa's random personality change and his attitude towards Anko felt out of place, even though it can be ruled out as his pure kindness.

And either way, Giving Mukai and Yoshikawa romantic interests in order to call them "men" as if it's manly to...chase after a girl that's come to terms with the fact that you don't like her and save the one who's made your life living hell from certain death, respectively, just to ditch the subplots altogether and create loose ends kinda sucked tbh. It made me anticipate a lot of stuff that just didn't happen. GTO being a comedy manga (mostly) doesn't really excuse that, as some other series managed pull off some sorta closure to their subplots. My main example is Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou. Unlike with Mukai and Kujirakawa, who only get 1 singular episode together and their relationship never ever sees the light of day, "Literary girl" becomes a running gag in Danshi Koukousei.

Admittedly, I wanted and expected Fuyumi and Onizuka to get together because they're 2 consenting adults which at least kinda have chemistry but I'm convinced that Tooru Fujisawa either:

intended Onizuka to have commitment issues and despite him dealing with other people's problems he never gets his resolved, presumably because he keeps running away from them

struggles to write romantic relationships or doesn't know how to.

Onizuka's struggle to commit to romantic relationships (which is evident in both his relationship with Misato and the one with Fuyutsuki) never gets any closure, from what I've gathered.

The sexism was another thing that occasionally bothered me. While at times the perverted jokes were genuinely well-timed and maybe even funny, other times they felt very awkward, out of place, uncomfortable,, well you get it.

Some things aged poorly, simply put.

On another note, the anime's ending kinda left me with a mild sour aftertaste. It felt like an Onizuka thing to do, but at the same time...how and why. Like FYM he's teaching in America now. Dude can't even speak English properly.

It also felt like the ending didn't allow for anything afterwards even tho the manga continues and ngl I'm personally not willing to read it becuz of the ending, Urumi and a few more things that didn't really get resolved.

Either way! It was overall a really fun watch, it gets a 7.8/10 from me

I like your take on Daenaera but I still don't have much thoughts on the aegon and jaehaera thing. To me if she lived I just think Aegon will keep a marriage only in name with her. He respect her as Queen but won't have much emotional connection with her. Cuz based on canon: it's very doubtful that she can actually have the concept of consent when she was cognitively 4 when she was 8. Neither did she show much ability to bond with people after the dance (aegon did tho). That's even a hard thing for me to ship compared to Aegon and Daenaera's 7 year old gap

Yeah, that's also been what trips me up on Jaehaera sometimes, which is that the way she's coded is meant to hint to a pretty severe developmental delay that does signify a bigger developmental disability. I'm pretty sure that was just there on Martin's part to make sure people didn't get attached to Jaehaera or her relationships with people like Aegon before killing her off (since I think he was doing a bit of backfilling, since Daenaera and Aegon III as the couple who produced children and reigned together was set in stone before he got into the minutia of the Dance and created the twins and then had to figure out a way to end the Dance concretely), especially considering how sloppily it's handled compared to disabilities like Tyrion's dwarfism and Bran's paralysis in the main series, though that may be because those are physical disabilities rather than mental. And Jaehaera being half her age mentally is something to note, four is incredibly differently, cognitively and developmentally, from eight, especially when Aegon was already older than her by three years, and would have impeded their connection in the short amount of time they had.

But I do also want to note that, because F&B is vague by design and Jaehaera died young and pretty early in Aegon's reign, we don't actually know if her issues were going to be permanent and severe. Jaehaera went through a lot in the Dance, beyond all the deaths of her family members and living through two armed invasions of KL, which is always gonna be scary for a kid, we really can't overstate how traumatic Blood and Cheese would have been for her. She's, like, six, and men break into her home to commit various acts of violence against her grandmother, her mother, her siblings, and her. It's not just that Jaehaera saw her own twin, someone she's never lived her life without, be beheaded by intruders, which would be incredibly traumatic in and of itself, or saw her mother and grandmother both in a state of emotional collapse that would be very distressing for a child, Blood and Cheese also threaten her specifically. At six years old, grown men tell Jaehaera that they are going to rape her unless her mom picks which of her brother's is going to die. In a time and place where she has no space or tools to process all the incredible traumas of that night, or having to later deal with Helaena's breakdown and not even being able to have the comfort of her mother, and likely very little comfort from her father who is first actively participating in a wara nd then later has a long convalescence following Rook's Rest, of course Jaehaera was going to regress. Aenys went back to acting like an infant after the trauma of just learning about his mother's death at age three, it's entirely reasonable Jaehaera went through something similar. The brain is a funny thing, and how trauma affects it is also a funny thing.

I do thing that Jaehaera was neurodivergent, while the severity of her mental condition seems to have only been noted during/after the Dance, even as a kid she's noted as not having expressed emotions the way you typically see from children, and I think that's generally seen as an early indicator of autism by the medical community today. So I'd feel comfortable headcanoning Jaehaera as autistic, likely more severe on the spectrum than Helaena is coded as being in the show, and I know that a lot of people do headcanon her that same way. So in my view, I'd attribute Jaehaera's mental state as a trauma response to the horrors she had to go through at such an early age, and if she had lived longer than the age of ten, it's entirely possible she would have improved and healed.

And with respect to the Aegon/Jaehaera/Daenaera throuple AU that's at the heart of this for me, I'd follow it on those lines, and that's part of what I talked about when discussing how Jaehaera and Daenaera would forge a connection first. Jaehaera's mental issues come not just from her neurodivergency but from her trauma and her inability to deal with that, so having her socialize with someone who, while she too has known grief and strife, has not been through anywhere near the same crucible as Jaehaera, is helpful developmentally. Bonding with Daenaera, and especially Daenaera because of her known traits of being sweet and bright and easy to get along with, would go a long way to helping Jaehaera in a world where mental health counseling and therapy and psychiatry aren't a thing. And that in turn can help lead her to bond with Aegon, who clearly wanted to connect with people but also had a boat load of issues, and as they grow older it turns into something more romantic, along with the romantic feelings springing up with Aegon and Daenaera and Jaehaera and Daenaera too. I'd have Jaehaera certainly be autistic, as mentioned, likely blunt and unaware of social cues and perhaps with a tendency to put her foot in her mouth or fail to follow social norms as a result, since she's described as "sweet and simple" in the text. That's kinda one of the things at the heart of this AU, that the Dance left a lot of young children lonely and lacking in connection that they desperately need, and how those children might grow and develop and blossom if they find that connection, in spite of the sins and rivalries of their parents (the Greens v Blacks, obviously, but also the mistreatment of the Velaryons on both sides and those loyalty switches).

But I'm also glad you like my Daenaera take anon! She's pookie to me, sometimes characters just speak to you without you even knowing why, and she's definitely like that for me, and I'm glad people enjoy the vibes I'm trying to bring.

while i understand your point about the slavery system VS the pet system, i think it’s important to remember that what a character thinks ≠ the author thinks, so i don’t think it’s fair to judge pacat’s character off of a series that has intentionally morally grey characters.

about the actual point, laurent said that a pet has more of a choice than a slave, which is objectively/legally true in the capri world (though of course not *actually* true, considering children can’t consent under any circumstance). while at face value this seems like a strange thing to say regardless, i think the reason *why* Laurent in particular said it has to be considered. It’s pretty clear that Laurent at least partially blames himself for the abuse he suffered at the hands of the regent (i.e. when he said that auguste was the only one in his family free of taint, implying he had it himself), and so in my opinion, it seems that he still holds the belief that it’s possible for someone under his, aimeric’s, or nicaise’s circumstances to have a choice, because he believes that he did (even though we the readers know he didn’t). it’s his own self-blame that seems to have leaked into his opinions on the pet system as a whole, which of course doesn’t justify his way of thinking, but i don’t think it was exactly meant to be justified either. again, laurent is a very morally grey character, who i don’t believe is meant to reflect the morals of either the author or the reader.

i have no notes except for the part about pacat: of course i’m aware a character’s thoughts don’t always align with the author’s actual views (tho i believe pacat used self insert in a lot of areas in this series but that’s another convo) but i believe it did fell on her to condemn the pet system the same way she did slavery. even if she didn’t have enough space in kr she could’ve tackled this issue easily in taoc. the way she left things in canon feels very unfinished to me. like even a line or two about damen and laurent changing the law to protect pets better alongside of abolishing the slavery would have been sufficient.

My top BL-Series Of 2022

Hello my fellow Bl-fans. The girls/ gays and theys obviously won this year, so let’s look back on our blessings 😃

I’m not spoiling anything or I’m trying not to, let’s go 🚶🏻‍♀️

1. KinnPorsche

This doesn‘t come surprising, does it? I remember how I lived week to week back then and the mafia topic was still kind of new and oh so exciting. Enough sexyness, earnestness and humour gave this series a well rounded outcome. There were still holes in the plot here and there but where weren‘t any this year? Let‘s move on. (Waiting for season 2)

2. Semantic Error

My god, these two held me by my throat in the beginning of this year, you couldn‘t help but immediately fall in love with them. It was a successful series and I hope Jaechan and Seoham will do another project in the future, but I don’t think so as of now.

3. Young Royals 2

Another Wilmon gold piece produced, which plot went smooth and showed progress over the episodes. It’s still very short for such an amazing piece and I miss Wilmon almost all of the time, but I‘ll gladly wait for season 3.

4. The Eclipse

The portraying of strong queers went WILD with this one. How Akk got weak in the knees because of Ayan had me gushing over them every week. The plot is lacking a little tho since some points weren’t finished/ worked on properly and Thua..no, just no. Neo looked so dann handsome in his role though and did such a good job with Louis!

5. Between Us

It‘s not finished yet and the plot seems to move too slow atm, but boy, Win is the consent king of this year and is doing the work for every bl character this year that couldn’t do the bare minimum. *COUGH*LITA*COUGH*

We also got a P‘Deeaan~ and the UWMA throwback is nice and so well done from this perspective.

6. Cutie Pie

Nunew and Zee feeding the sub bottom/ dom top fetish/ height difference fetish well 😂 I didn’t like the bff side couple that much and sometimes the corny plot was too much, but the acting was well done.

7. My School President

I can’t believe either that this is in my list already BUT IT IS MAKING ME FEEL THINGS THAT COME CLOSE TO THE THINGS I FELT WHILE WATCHING BAD BUDDY. It is super cute now, not like you think at the beginning and I can’t wait for a new episode. The fandom posts here on Tumblr are also 😘👌🏻

8. Never Let Me Go

This one is also here already. Can’t say much except for the acting that has improved for both Pond and especially Phuwin, my little guy grew up.

9. Blueming

One of the best k-bls this year, hands down. Story, aesthetics, just everything.

1. the more sam and colby talk abt cody and satori… the more i believe them. like maybe im just a chameleon to opinion but they genuinely seem to believe in c&s and i wasn’t there, i haven’t experienced any of this so i think i’m back to ‘hey maybe it wasn’t all bs and this might be real’. I also firmly do not believe cody was cracking joints bc how? they felt it in the floor, heard it in the walls.. doesn’t make sense. also if the house ever goes up again they need to put an offer down. i get what sam was saying and it not being practical (properly value 300k but asking for 1.4m? that’s steep). it’d be a great investment tho.

2. with sam and colbys luck, one of them would get the most undeniable evidence of the paranormal (someone levitating, thrown a distance, possessed…) and people would still be like ‘fake!’ Lol Also gram (?) just mentioned a similar experiment to what we were discussing the other day! except he said take random people and not tell them which is haunted, we were saying put snc in a place and not tell them its haunted and then see what happens. they liked that idea so who knows… they might lol

3. i will always be so fascinated and proud of colby for how he handled and continues to be so transparent about his cancer journey. i say journey bc it will continue to be apart of his life for years to come, whether through medical appointments, anniversary anxieties, or just talking about it. mad props to him, mad props.

4. i just got a series of flashes in my mind of black and white photos of snc respectively announcing engagements to their partners and births of their children and it made me smile. one day, boys. one day that’ll be your future, your “purpose”.

1, I believe that they believe in Cody and Satori. I've never called snc's credibility into question with that whole mess, and it kind of annoys me that others do - not cause I think they are above reproach or something, but because people love to say "oh snc never bothered to even try to debunk these guys, so they must be in on it." Like, WHAT? They literally flew back across the country weeks later to try and debunk it cause they knew full well that there were a lot of ways out and around this. When the controversy started, they reached out to C&S and asked if they could run more tests and C&S said no. SNC, having done all of that, came out still believing them while also fully acknowledging that they could be faking - not much else they can do besides that right there, so why they are still coming under fire about it when C&S are the "frauds" is beyond me.

Literally, do y'all want them to kidnap these two people, tie them up, remove their shoes, and force them to do this barefoot? Do you want them to release this additional footage they have that C&S did not give them permission to release that they could probably get sued over (since releasing it would be done without consent) and possibly blacklisted from the entire paranormal community, just so reddit can have their fucking jollies? Like...?? Go after C&S and let snc continue to have their beliefs on the whole thing, since they did everything they felt they could to disprove this before making their decision on where they stood on the issue.

Sorry for the rant, that whole situation just annoys me.

As far as them almost buying the house - that made me laugh, cause we joked about the possibility of them doing that on here back when the house went up for sale. So knowing it almost happened is not only funny, but also explains some vague shit they said back in the day about possibly owning a haunted house lol.

2, You know, Sam's exuberant insistence that he wants to have some horrible thing happen to him so that he could have the experience and finally know for 100% that the paranormal is real is exactly the problem with Sam, and I've been calling that out for years. The fact that he can so casually say it out loud made me both feel vindicated and perturbed by him and his hubris (here's a good example of his hubris again lol).

But yea, I hope they take the idea and run with it!

3, I thought it was interesting to hear him be honest about the fact that this whole situation with the cancer is hitting him harder now than it did while he was in the thick of it. That is trauma. That is shock and adrenaline wearing off, and hindsight creeping in. I think it's important to be able to come out and say, "Yea, not all of this is a positive, and some of this will stick with you for years." Colby tries his damndest (to a fault sometimes) to always come across as a glass all the way full and overflowing kind of guy, or a stoic soldier who doesn't complain and keeps his head up, but then he's also very open about his emotional state, and vaguely alludes to his deep mental health struggles from time to time and I just think there's a well of really dark emotion buried deep, deep inside of him that would be healthier for him and everyone to let out every once in a while.

Anyway, that was a side tangent to the main point, which is that it is very impressive that he continues to put himself out there and speak so candidly about such a stigmatized topic.

Although, I don't think he grasps what the word "celibate" means, but he tried and that's what counts lol

4, I think it's high comedy that these two act like they've never given thought to their kids growing up together when they literally were just joking about this on xplrclub a few months ago. These two have brains like sieves lol.

Also, the looks on their faces when the host said "you should have girlfriends that are friends with each other" like yea, they are working on that right now, as a matter of fact.

And I think they'll be in Zumiez for a long time, so you should be good!!
