"Cali, can you go over to the rehab, we just got some new rescues in and they're going to need some love." Glancing up from her phone in the break room, Cali nodded instantly. As much as it broke her heart to see the conditions of some of the animals coming in, it was also one of her favourite parts of the job. Tossing her phone into her locker and replacing the key necklace and her ID around her neck, she wasted no time in hurrying over to the animal rehab centre.

As she got closer, already sweltering in the Florida weather and the wetsuit she was required to wear, she could spot a familiar face not that far off. "Do you have a sixth sense for when we could use a little volunteering hand or something?" Smiling at her friend, Cali nodded towards the gate to the rehab centre, swiping her ID before holding the door out for the both of them. She had found a kindred spirit in Addie when she had found her talking to some of the turtles one day. For Cali, someone who spoke to any of the animals she worked with like they were her pets, she recognised the feeling it could bring. "We just got some new rescues in, so you've got a well timed visit."

Amy was not a patient person. However, throughout the course of their relationship, Addy had taught Amy some patience. Which is why when Addy didn't show up for their planned dinner, she didn't text her two minutes after the fact. It's also why after an hour of Addy still not showing up, she opted for eating the meal by herself while scrolling through work e-mails. Amy had been sad at first, but as time went on, she found herself growing more annoyed with the situation. A part of her felt as if she should check on Addy to see if everything was okay, but the other part knew that she had just gotten caught up with work. Every single time, it was work. Amy knew that she wasn't innocent in all of this, but she was making an effort. Trying to make an effort. She hadn't answered work e-mails all weekend long the previous week, just so the two of them could have more one-on-one time. She enjoyed herself, yes, but the upcoming Monday was an absolute headache. Still, she did it for Addy. She found that she would do mostly anything for Addy, even when she wasn't particularly happy about it.

For the past two hours, Amy had been sitting on the their couch, letting a show play in the background at low volume as she tried to distract herself by scrolling through Instagram. She had been sipping on a small glass of Whiskey when she heard the front door open. She sighed, knowing what was most likely about to come. When Addy stepped into the apartment, the annoyance that Amy had been feeling before resurfaced almost instantly. Amy sipped her drink once more, and then gave a fake smile. "How was work?"

Laughter escaped Tess before she could manage to stop it. And not the soft, polite laugh she'd cultivated for whenever she was within the public's eyes, but a honest to God (and far too loud for her liking) snort.

Her cheeks pinkened at the sound - and the eyes it drew in the direction of her table - but damn if she could stop. Somehow, the attention only made her inconvenient fit of giggles worse.

"Sorry. I'm sorry." Struggling to swallow the club sandwich in her mouth and fan her face at the same time she glanced left, locking her gaze with her nearest neighbor. "It's just— they've been like this since the ninth grade." The couple arguing across the room, that is. "I can't believe nothing's changed."

There was a hum of amusement, quieter this time, before she mused aloud, "It's like I never even left. Not sure if I should be comforted or alarmed at that."

truth be told, if you had said to zack that he would be comforted by someone who looked about as dead on their feet as he did once upon a time, he would have scoffed at you. he would have said that it would be ridiculous, being told that things would get better by a functional living dead. but here he is, listening to those damn words leave someone else's lips that he doesn't TRUST.

"Is that so?" he manages to smile, though it comes across as more wry and tense than anything truly warm. "And pray tell, what would you know about outliving your family, good and bad included?" he can't help but sigh, though, knowing that it'd do him no good to start an argument. "Sorry. I'm not in the best of moods... I haven't seen my brothers in a while now, and... it's making me nervous."

a semi-brief overview of the popularity ranking within pinkalicious and the solo activities that each member has. (ib. @/moirtre)

001. ∬ ˚ ⋆ ࣪  CHARMEINE YU

Coming in at the most popular member, Charmeine was favored before even debuting. She is one of the wealthy heiress’ of the well-established LEE FAIMLY. She’s also the cousin of already debuted Lee girl, BRIAR LEE, who got her musical start in 2016 under TROUVAILLE. Due to her already having a following before THE PINK TAPE aired, her name being mentioned skyrocketed viewer ratings and anticipation for the show. That popularity only took off even more after seeing her on the show, getting a taste of her many talents. She regularly trended during the survival shows airtime for her dancing skills, vocals, and stage presence—not to mention her variety skills. It was no surprise that she made it into the lineup, winning the entire show and being crowned QUEEN PINK. Following her debut, Charmeine’s popularity failed to fade, only growing.

Over her career, Charmeine has had a plethora of solo endeavors, to the extent that some people may even recognize her as Charmeine Yu rather than Charmeine from The PINKETTES. Being the third member to debut as a solo artist and easily the most successful, she came out with her first solo album in 2022 which was a hit instantly. Her promotions for the solo were incredibly iconic, pushing her further in popularity by miles. She became a global ambassador for CHANEL in 2019. She also went on a number of variety shows solo, her most memorable appearances being: THE MANAGER, AMAZING SATURDAY, and her labelmates podcast/talk show, CHATTY WITH ADDY.

She also went onto model for other brands such as ALEXANDER MCQUEEN, MARC JACOBS DAISY, and UNDER ARMOUR. Aside from brand deals, she’s also earned quite a few musical features from artists like Ravana’s KYRIE. It’s safe to say that Charmeine is booked and busy.

002. ∬ ˚ ⋆ ࣪  TANA KANAROT

Majority would thank TANA’S heritage for her popularity, ranking at the second most popular member. Her mother, being a famous model and her father being a well-respected industrial designer with lots of money, her name was already in talks. She is constantly battling with CHARMEINE for most popular but it’s more common for Charmeine to win. A part of her lesser popularity with fans and the general public can be accounted to her likability. She’s had a history with Netizen’s criticizing her attitude, often accusing her of having “Celebrity Sickness.” That isn’t to say that Tana hasn’t had a successful solo career, becoming one of VERSACE’S global ambassador in 2020 and the second member to debut as a soloist in 2021. Her solo was a commercial success, surpassing LONDON’S solo. However, her fans were upset when Charmeine’s solo outperformed hers statistically—charts, streams, and sales.

Taking after her mother, most of Tana’s solo activities, if not all, consist of modeling gigs. She’s posed for brands like NIKE, ARMANI, and HERMÈS BIRKIN.

003. ∬ ˚ ⋆ ࣪  BAE YOONA : LONDON

Most known for her likable personality and Girl-Next-Door image, LONDON ranks in at third most popular member. She was quite popular during THE PINK TAPE, even beating TANA in popularity. The general public favored her being “down to earth” and sweet. They also praised her visuals, likening her to an Angel and even giving her the endearing nickname NATIONS ANGEL. However, this popularity seemed to turn against her with a large few of Netizens slandering her for her relationships with male idols. Though she’s never had a public relationship with any, she’s friends with a lot of male idols and they’ve never shied away from showing their appreciation and admiration for her publicly.

Majority of her solo promotions come from her reputation as a TV personality, becoming a beloved MUSIC BANK MC, making appearances on THE RETURN OF SUPERMAN, HOME ALONE, and RUNNING MAN. However, she has dabbled into the pool of sponsorships, officially becoming a global ambassador for CARTIER in 2020 and is frequently receiving gifts from them all the time. London also accumulated deals with the likes of DIOR BEAUTY and INNISFREE.

The first to do so, London debuted as a soloist in 2020 which received high-praise from the general public.

Although not really publicized, a large majority of Pinkalicious’ discography is credited to London. She has a considerable amount of writing and producing credits under her belt, working with a plethora idols that the public wouldn’t even think. She also plans on publishing a book some time in the future. She has her hands in a few things.

004. ∬ ˚ ⋆ ࣪  KANG MIKYUNG

Due to a cesspool of attitude scandals, MIKYUNG only sits at the fourth most popular member of the group. From the moment she was revealed on THE PINK TAPE, Netizens bashed the girl for her “narcissism” and labeled her as a diva. What Mikyung viewed as self-confidence, others looked at as unattractive arrogance. The general public went on a witch hunt with her, which continued even after her debut—which only fueled their hatred for her, seeing as she still made the lineup in spite of her personality.

Twitter and fans in general have a ball demonizing her. She still managed to garner fans, mostly praised for her dancing talents, unique visual, and stage presence. Aside from this, she doesn’t have as many solo promotions compared to the members ranked above her, although she still was chosen as an ambassador by MIU MIU in 2020. She has been a loyal ambassador for the brand ever since, regularly sporting Miu Miu purses and attending fashion shows covered from head to toe in Miu Miu. She’s also posed for them countless times, often being named the FACE OF MIU MIU. Additionally, Minkyung teamed up with BLUMARINE, MICHAEL KORS, and JACQUEMUS.

Almost all of her variety show appearances are with a group or another member. The most variety time she has is if she posts a vlog in the groups official YouTube channel, which is usually either about dancing or her trips overseas. Occasionally, she’ll go live either by herself or with a member and stream mediocre but funny gameplay and interact with fans.

005. ∬ ˚ ⋆ ࣪  CAI ARNELA : NELLY

Easily the most blatantly disliked member, NELLY is ranked last in popularity. She was never really noticed or given any real attention during THE PINK TAPE from viewers. There were the occasional comments about her being pretty or “they hope she still debuts,” because they just knew she wasn’t making it in the lineup. When she did, however, all hell broke loose. Initially, there was only supposed to be the top four making it into the group. But Nelly, ranking at five to everyone’s surprise, was added to the lineup at the last minute. Everyone already had looked at the top four as THE CORE FOUR, and essentially the best lineup to come out of Pinkalicious. So Nelly’s addition was riddled with comments such as “rigged,” “unnecessary,” and “filler member.”

Safe to say, it’s hard coming across a BFF that doesn’t at least have a little animosity toward Nelly. Especially considering songs were swiped from their debut rollout, allegations about Nelly not being able to keep up with the others labeled as the reason why.

Putting aside all of the controversies, Nelly was still able to bag her title as a global ambassador for CALVIN KLEIN in 2022, becoming the last member to become an ambassador for a brand. She doesn’t attend variety shows without the members and she rarely gets solo CF’s, however, in 2022 she filmed a CF for MCDONALD’S and appeared in a TOYOTA advertisement.

MUSE & ARTH se conheceram ainda muito novos no acampamento, e acabaram saindo em uma missão os dois e NPC, irmão do rapaz. quando o irmão estava em perigo, os esforços combinados de arth e MUSE, salvaram o filho de ares que sequer mostrou gratidão aos dois. contudo, vendo a semideusa em ação, uma relação que antes era de ódio mútuo acendeu a chama de uma paixão duradoura. ela era a musa dele, quem o via da arquibancada em cada jogo e para quem ele dedicava cada homerun, até que por uma força mais forte que os dois, seu relacionamento de quase um ano, veio a um fim abrupto que ele nunca superou.

MUSE e ARTH eram amigos de infância, mais velhos que o rapaz por alguns anos - sempre pensou saber melhor da vida que ele, e por algum tempo, arth acreditou no mesmo. chegaram na adolescência e começaram a se estranhar, o filho de ares já não mais venerava a amiga, e foi em um momento de descontrole do próprio poder que eles se meteram em uma briga feia - raiva e ódio fluindo entre os dois, palavras duras sendo trocadas e ações que não podiam ser apagadas. SASHA e ARTH namoraram quando ele tinha apenas seus vinte e um anos, pouco antes de ser convocado pelo 49ers, MUSE era um pouco mais velho que si & a relação foi marcada por altos e baixos, em sua maioria - baixos , mas quando era bom ; era ótimo. fez com que arth insistisse que eles podiam continuar mesmo que agora todo o holofote fosse estar nele, e estar com um homem tivesse que ser mantido em segredo por certo tempo. sentiu-se como o pai, escondendo nick - mas diferente do padrasto , SASHA não aceitou ser um segredo e assim veio o final. top 5 countries you visited?

ok, so to preface this, obviously i am going to base this on my personal experiences in the countries. i traveled to 14 countries in 2023 and some were for as short as 24 hours while others were for 2.5 weeks, so there's a really big range to choose from. but here's my list in no particular order:

001. south africa—i was born in cape town and my family moved away when i was about 18 months old which means i had no memories of my birthplace. i got to go back in may for the first time since we left and it lived up to all of my expectations. it was so beautiful and the people were lovely and i had so much fun with my colleagues and the new friends i made on the trip. i also got to go to johannesburg which was super pleasant. i got to spend a whole week in my birth country and i hope to return again in the future.

002. portugal—i went with my brother, sister, brother-in-law, and niece on a european adventure this summer and we spent a good chunk of the trip in lisbon. the city was GORGEOUS and so different from other cities i've been to before. we ate great food and drank amazing wine and had new experiences together. this was one of the first big trips my siblings and i have taken as adults and i hope we do it again in the future.

003. nepal—i lived in kathmandu for 2 years as a teenager from the time i was 14 until just after i turned 16. returning this fall for the first time since 2007 was a wild experience and so different from cape town bc i DO have so many memories from my time there. my years in kathmandu helped to shape me into the person i am today, and it was so weird to walk some of the same streets i did as a teen, to eat the same food, to smell the same air...the scent memories were insane on this trip. it felt like i'd traveled back in time.

004. ethiopia—what a wild experience! i was only in addis for about 72 hours and had some lows and highs on this trip, from spending my first night in a sketch hotel on my own before switching over to the one all my colleagues were staying in. but this trip really showed me what's possible when on these trips for work. i really bonded with one of the people in cape town, a woman named soha, and we stuck together all through the tour—normally on these trips, especially the short ones like this, i'll stick closer to the hotel and maybe go out to dinner with some people. but soha led the charge and found a cultural dance show for us to go to, and coordinated between me and another woman to do a tour around the city grabbing coffee at a famous coffee shop, visiting a church we'd driven by, going to see lucy at the national museum of ethiopia, witnessing an authentic coffee ceremony, and getting massages before my 18+ hour flight home.

005. taiwan—learning from my experience in ethiopia in the spring, this fall i took soha's lessons and put them into practice. i was in the city for maybe...48 hours? if that? but i got a bunch of recommendations from the driver who picked me up at the airport and organized a small group of us to walk to a night market and try a bunch of new food. it was such a wonderful experience in a new country and i just loved my time there.

"please. like he really expects more of me." wayne probably did expect more of both of them. no matter what the man was so hopeful and sure they would go on to do great things. and the sad part is that addie really didn't think it was an act. he really had that much faith in the sibling duo that had become like his own kids. and yet year after year both of them underwhelmed him and just shit those dreams a little deeper into the ground. at least eddie had his music. he might go somewhere with that. she was just sitting stagnet working at radio shack while being in the same grade of their younger members of the hellfire club. "at least you'll graduate high school." maybe. was there really an age that was too old for high school? did you simply age out at some point? eddie himself was testing those waters. guess they'd just have to wait and see. "you haven't done it yet." 86' baby. he kept saying that. but he'd said 84' then 85' the years before that. those had been his years and in the end, none of them were. "besides what's outside of this hell hole anyway?" probably a lot of things but addie didn't care. she'd been there her whole life and she didn't really aspire to leave. that was the problem, she didn't aspire to do much of anything. "now give me some shit to sell, i've got clients too." lecture time was over. it was like the blind leading the blind anyway when eddie tried to lecture her. they got nowhere.

Benji could count on one hand the amount of times he’d set foot in Katie’s childhood home. It wasn’t like he had much cause, Sylvia Birch wanted nothing to do with their kid, and it wasn’t like he was looking for wholesome family fun time with Satan and Beelzebub (his favored nicknames for Sylvia and Addie). But it wasn’t every day that Sylvia Birch called (no, seriously, she’d never once called him), so Benji took the call. Something about a clogged garbage disposal, and if Benji ever considered himself less than a waste of oxygen, etc., etc. 

It felt like Addie wrote the script.

Benji, surprisingly, was pretty handy. After his dad had left, the Hastings hadn’t had the luxury of hiring someone every time something broke, so they got smart. And between him and his mother, they could fix (or at least tape over), pretty much anything. He knew Sylvia would leave him to crawl under the kitchen sink and right what was wrong with his box of tools, but the same hope couldn’t be relied upon where Addie was concerned. On his back with half of his torso beneath the sink and adjoining cabinet, Benji leaned to his side so he could glance up at the face that belonged to the feet that hovered near.
