little alice ophelia crowley was born in 1915 in the midst of the war, her birth being assisted by her aunt and grandmother. luckily, the birth went over smoothly and the child was a happy and healthy little girl.

a ward for injured british soldiers was established in the drawing room of the crowley mansion, fulfilling katya's heartfelt wish. the once elegant space was now transformed into a place of care and healing. lydia and naztja, having set aside their differences, worked tirelessly in the ward.

naztja found herself deeply engrossed in the profession she had learned from her talented mother. every day brought new challenges and opportunities to make a difference in the lives of those brave men fighting for their country. she admired lydia's dedication and skill, and the bond between them grew stronger as they worked side by side, saving lives and providing comfort to the wounded.

katya enjoyed watching her loved ones work on their passions. it also helped having them around, too - they brought more much needed joy to the cold halls of the large mansion. for once in her life, katya felt a profound sense of purpose and fulfillment.

a few weeks after marian's birth, katya received a letter from her sister, who had freshly turned twenty. she announced her engagement to their childhood friend, bobby adelmann, a socialist who she would run away to henford with in secret from her parents. katya was shocked and quite honestly, appalled by this news - she knew naztja was a rebel, but running away like that wasn't something she expected her to do. however, she would always support her dearest sister no matter what - especially with something she never got to do.

the wedding was held as soon as the couple arrived in henford in early 1914. it was a small, private occasion, with only their siblings in attendance.

helga lammi passed on peacefully only days after christmas with a sense of fulfillment, knowing she had lived a full life surrounded by her loving family. her funeral, held two weeks later, was a private affair attended only by her immediate family members.

once the family returned back home with helga, naztja had a little playdate. ♡

after naztja's birthday came a fundraising ball held at britechester library, which the whole family attended. katya was not happy about this, as she preferred her own company to that of others - however, her parents insisted on the importance of this night.

lydia and adam introduced their daughter to the son of crowley publishing's ceo, jonathan crowley. little nathanael was a jolly boy, very much different to katya, who once more hid behind her mother's skirt.

the children's parents had them converse, and although katya initially disliked him, nathanael did manage to make the shy girl laugh.

naztja turned seven and grew up into a smart little girl, just like her parents!

after visiting adam's parents, the family visited ida and austen! there, lydia ended up going into labour and giving birth to a beautiful, healthy little girl in the very same room as she was born in, called anastazja elizabeth miotke.

luckily, the birth was easy on lydia and she was able to spend time with her new little one outside just a week later.

in an early morning of 1916, a mystery patient from the frontlines in verdon, france was rushed in to the crowley ward. katya came to see him out of curiosity, and was shocked to see that it was who she feared it be the most - her husband.

naztja immediately tended to his wounds, which were very severe. his legs were nearly blasted off, and it seemed likely he was paralyzed from the waist down. it truly did not look good for nathanael, which naztja told katya with no sugarcoating. this broke her down - she truly did not know what to do.
