this outfit is not historically accurate at all, but i really wanted to draw how i imagined watson in the gorgeous WW1 era h/w fic The Presbury Letters

Frankly I don’t forgive a single soul who remarked negatively on Jeremy Brett’s haphazardly cut short hair or fatter face in later seasons. He had bipolar, cut his hair in mania, and the lithium pills he was on for symptoms made his body hold water and ultimately stopped his heart.

Of course bipolar wasn’t well-understood at the time, but I still don’t forgive the lack of acceptance of this man’s changing form.

He still looks fucking beautiful, dominates the screen with his presence, he still has that incredible voice, makes those sexy little expressions with his eyes and lips. I want to kiss him on the mouth every second he is on screen (and I am a lesbian bordering on the asxexual at present).

He deserved better.
