okay so i was queueing this post and was losing my mind in the tags struggling with the constant warning of hitting the word limit bc i had so much to say, until my brain was finally like “dude just make your own damn post” so here i am!
basically my thoughts were about Sean and his experience in episode 4. episode 4 was nuts. the shit Sean endures, regardless of your choices, is horrible. and i just wanted to connect why all the BS Sean experiences makes the choice of shooting or sparing Lisbeth so much more weighty.
(sidenote: i’m not going to be referring to if Sean asks/lets Daniel kill her and will mainly just be focusing on if Sean does it himself or lets Lisbeth leave the church unharmed.)
to start off, i don’t think it’s a reach to say that by the end of the episode Sean has to be fucking exhausted. it’s undoubtedly one of the lowest points of their journey. like from beginning to end: Sean was just held hostage by the feds! he very recently lost an eye and is still struggling to adjust to his now dramatically reduced vision! and still during this recovery phase he crosses hundreds of miles in the desert to find Daniel while trying to avoid discovery. then very quickly he runs into verbally and physically abusive racists who mock his cultural upbringing, raid through his belongings, and then beat the shit out of him, possibly breaking his fucking ribs, while laughing in his bloodied and bruised face. but at least he still has a car oh wait NOT ANYMORE bc he has to abandon it soon after the harassment/assault and is forced to walk several miles in the desert on foot with little food, little water, and little shade.
and then after that absolutely tiring, painful, and no doubt life threatening trek, he finally finds Daniel. finally he gets his brother back but OH WAIT the minute Sean gets there Daniel rejects him, even going so far as to use his power to push him away, bc of the awful brain washing and mental abuse Lisbeth has subjected him to. but ohohoho the horror still isn’t over yet bc in the same exact day literally a millisecond after being kicked out, guess what fucking ghost pops back up in Sean’s life seemingly just to be the sweet cherry on top of these Fuck Sean set of events?? MOTHERFUCKING KAREN REYNOLDS!!! the person that was the very first to fuel his horrific snowball of trauma! that left when he needed and wanted her most and now that shes literally the farthest thing from his mind, ironically spits back in his face that “of course she’s there now, they need her”.
after all this you just know, without a shadow of a doubt, that Sean has to be tired. he has to be fed up with just about everything after being dealt the most atrocious cards ever seen and (intentionally or unintentionally) shat on again and again and again.
then, at the end when he finally convinces Daniel (if you succeed) and tries to leave, Lisbeth will stand in his way after just having her beloved henchmen beat the shit out of him. mind you, Sean still has broken ribs if you rebelled against the desert racists. Sean still can barely see shit. there is blood drenched down his face bc of how much Lisbeth’s goon tried to bash his skull in and Sean is so weak and wounded that, whether they’ve reconciled or not, he has to lean on Karen for support bc he is so fucked up he can barely stand on his own two feet. not even including the absolute mess of mental and physiological trauma the desert pursuit had to have taken on him in the first place.
and Lisbeth, this mass manipulator with absolutely no redeemable qualities, has the GALL to stand in his way afterwards???
the choice to shoot Lisbeth or spare is so so huge i cannot stress it enough, not just as a teaching moment for Daniel but also smthg monumental for Sean. bc what does he do? he just wants to leave, he just wants this part of their journey to be done with already, he just wants it to be over. and again mind you, Sean CANONLY picks up the gun. it is not a choice nor a determinant. Sean grabs it knowing he may need to use it. taking out Lisbeth or sparing her is the culmination of everything that’s happened to him this episode and begs you to wonder:
where is Sean’s head at? has he had enough? has he become so mauled and beat down by practically everything that he finally says “fuck you” and hits back, pulling the trigger? OR does Sean try to maintain the shred of innocence he may or may not have left? does he look at this personification of absolute shit that’s literally daring him to kill her and say “no”?
shooting or sparing Lisbeth at the end of episode 4 is basically asking: will Sean come out of all of that trauma and pain and hurt and fight to remain merciful? or will he mold into hardened steel?

This year -- put a Book on EVERY Bed
This year: put a Book on EVERY Bed
By “Ask Amy” advice columnist Amy Dickinson
10 December, 2020
Tumblr media
Dear Readers: Every year at Christmastime, I delight in promoting a Book on Every Bed. I do so in memory of my mother, Jane, who raised her children to understand that if you have a book, you are never alone.
The idea originally came from historian David McCollough, who recounted the Christmas mornings of his youth, when the very first thing he woke up to was a wrapped book at the base of his bed, left there by Santa.
The most important part is what happens next: Family members reading together.
That’s it! That’s the whole idea!
Over the last ten years, working with my local literacy partner Children’s Reading Connection (childrensreadingconnection.org), this campaign has grown to include schools, libraries and bookstores, who have donated scores of books to families that might not have access to them. The goal – and our dream – is that families will experience the intimate and personal connection of diving into and sharing stories, the way my mother and I did throughout her life.
Over the years, important literacy advocates, such as the Librarian of Congress Carla Hayden and LeVar Burton, and bestselling children’s authors Brad Meltzer and Peter Reynolds, have endorsed and helped to spread the good word.
This year is different. So many of us are alone, hurting, and separated from family and familiar holiday routines.
All of us – not just children – need a good book on our beds.
I have broadened the scope to include specific recommendations for books spanning all ages. I’ve reached out to some of my favorite writers, literacy advocates, and independent booksellers across the country for their special picks.
Whether you purchase a book or share an old favorite, I hope you will be inspired to put A Book on Every Bed this year. It is not necessary to make a Christmas deadline – this idea is one to sustain people throughout what might shape up to be a very long winter.
Following are recommendations for all age groups.
Baby and Toddlers: From Brigid Hubberman, Children’s Reading Connection, Ithaca, NY (childrensreadingconnection.org):
Tumblr media
“Words are the language of love for babies.  The best books for infants should be about the world they know. Parents should choose books to surround babies with an abundance of loving and delightful words.”
Baby Cakes, by Karma Wilson and Sam Williams
Haiku Baby, by Betsy E. Snyder
Shine Baby Shine, by Leslie Staub and Lori Nichols
Ages 3-5: From Lisa Swaze, Buffalo Street Books, Ithaca, NY (Buffalostreetbooks.com)
“If You Come to Earth,” by Sophie Blackall is one of my favorite picture books of 2020. This book is beautiful both visually and lyrically, and it will feel like a warm hug to any child or family who receives it.
“You Matter,” by Christian Robinson is a bright and elegant book that takes children on a journey around the world to make it clear that everyone matters, and perhaps more importantly, reassure them that they matter, no matter what they look like or where they are from.
Tumblr media
Early Readers: From Sandra Dear, owner of The Little Boho Bookshop, in Bayonne, NJ (thelittlebohobookshop.com)
“The Suitcase,” by Chris Naylor-Ballesteros: This beautiful story about immigration, is full of heart and humanity as it teaches our littlest ones about hope, tolerance and kindness.
“Home in the Woods,” by Eliza Wheeler: This stunningly beautiful picture book has fast become a customer favorite. A story about starting over, of overcoming! A story of family, love and joy of being and growing together.
Tumblr media
Middle Grade Readers: From Becky Anderson, co-owner of Anderson’s Bookshop, in Naperville, Illinois (andersonsbookshops.com):
“Ways to Make Sunshine,” by Renee Watson: Watson writes her own version of Ramona Quimby, one starring a Black girl and her family, in this start to a charming new middle grade series about spirit, kindness, and sunshine.  Ryan, a fourth grader, finds the positive in difficult situations and when trouble strikes. She is that character to love and bring in the sunshine!  Grades 3-6
Skunk and Badger by Amy Timberlake, illustrated by Jon Klassen: Winnie-the-Pooh and Frog and Toad meet in a fresh take on a classic odd-couple friendship.  Klassen’s illustrations add much to a story of an unlikely friendship that proves that opposites can see the good in one another. The first in a series.  Grades 3-7
“The Silver Arrow,” by Lev Grossman: Kate’s humdrum life is transformed when her eccentric Uncle Herbert brings her a colossal locomotive train, the Silver Arrow, as her eleventh birthday gift, leading her and her younger brother on a mysterious journey.  The train will remind readers of the Hogwart’s Express. A story that is environmentally aware and calls readers to action. Perfect for fans of Roald Dahl and The Chronicles of Narnia.  Grades 3-7
Tumblr media
YA Readers: Danielle Kreger, Blue Bunny Books, Dedham, MA (bluebunnybooks.com):  "One of Us is Lying" by Karen M McManus: An edge of your seat mystery that takes place in Bayview High school during detention. Simon, a so-called "outcast," never makes it out of detention alive. What follows is a tale of twists and turns that has the reader questioning the reliability of the characters, and the secrets they keep.
"Burn" by Patrick Ness: A fast-paced young adult fantasy that begins with fifteen-year-old Sarah, who meets Kazimir – a dragon who has been hired to help on her family's farm. Still reeling from the death of her mother, Sarah finds herself feeling an intense and unusual connection with Kazimir. As the story unfolds secrets, dangers and Kazimir's true purpose are revealed.
"The New Kid" by Jerry Craft: A spot-on graphic novel about navigating a new school, new friends and identity. Jordan Banks is in seventh grade when he is sent to a rigorous private school and grapples with staying true to himself- his love for creating cartoons, how to maintain his old friends and how he fits in in a less than diverse new school. A totally lovable and relatable character!
Tumblr media
Adult Non-fiction: From Alex George, the author, most recently, of The Paris Hours, founder and director of the Unbound Book Festival, and the owner of Skylark Bookshop, in Columbia, MO (skylarkbookshop.com)
“Wintering,” by Katherine May: This is a deeply personal, quietly beautiful book, written with grace and immense thoughtfulness. We all go through difficult times; by mulling over her responses to her own misfortunes, the author offers insight as to how we might think differently about low points in our lives. Instructive, inspiring, and ultimately profoundly hopeful.
Tumblr media
“The Book of Delights,” by Ross Gay: This utterly charming book of micro-essays by Ross Gay, a beloved and renowned poet, is a perfect gift for – well, just about anyone. Gay set himself the challenge of finding one thing that delighted him each day for a year, and then writing about it. The result is a quirky, brilliant book that you can dip in and out of, always finding something to make you smile, and think. A guaranteed lifter of spirits.
“Intimations: Six Essays,” by Zadie Smith: I’ve always loved Zadie Smith’s nonfiction work, and this small but powerful book shows her talents at their finest. Written during the pandemic, these six pieces are sharp, and funny, and thought-provoking. Smith’s deeply personal reflections on this strangest of years is essential reading. If ever there was a book for these strange times, it’s this one.
Tumblr media
Adult Fiction: Mark LaFramboise, Senior Book Buyer at Politics and Prose in Washington, DC (politics-prose.com)
“The Butterfly Lampshade,” by Aimee Bender: This is a beautiful story of mental illness, the bonds of sisterhood, and the liveliness of a child's imagination.  Francie is 8 years old when the book begins, the daughter of a single mom.  This is the story of her odyssey after her mother is committed to a mental hospital, and she is sent to be raised by an aunt and uncle.
“Luster,” by Raven Leilani: Edie, the young protagonist in Luster, Raven Leilani's debut novel, is daring, sexy, hilarious, super smart, and drop dead beautiful.  Her affair with a married man takes a turn for the strange when she meets and befriends the man's wife and daughter.  Edie is whip smart because Raven Leilani is whip smart and her voice propels this beguiling novel.
“What Are You Going Through,” by Sigrid Nunez: Sigrid Nunez writes so beautifully that plot feels irrelevant.  The writer's confidence and authority are apparent from the first page.  Ultimately, it's the story of a woman who is asked by an old college acquaintance to be with her when she takes her life, after a cancer diagnosis.  But, like her previous book The Friend (about a woman who inherits a large Great Dane), it doesn't matter what story she tells because her words bristle with life.
Tumblr media
Elders: Gayle Shanks, Changing Hands Bookstore, in Tempe and Phoenix, AZ
(changinghands.com)
“Apeirogon,” by Colum McCann: Two fathers, one Palestinian and one Israeli have both lost their young daughters to violence but have decided that reconciliation, not revenge, is what they needed to seek. In the process, they became best friends. McCann describes the insanity and senseless violence bred in the Middle East, the Occupation under which the Palestinians are forced to live, but also the beauty of the country, the migration of birds, the many ways humans overcome adversity and find solace in the natural world and each other. In a series of 1001 fragments, McCann walks us through his imaginary polygon, the Apeirogon of the title, containing an infinite number of sides, an infinite number of gorgeous sentences, and ultimately an infinite number of ways to view the human condition.
“All the Way to the Tigers,” by Mary Morris: Travel writer Mary Morris’ book, written in small chapters, was in some ways similar to reading Colum McCann's, Aperagon, also written in small bits (in his case 1001, in Mary's -- 112 chapters). Morris travels to India in search of the elusive Bengal tiger, but in so many ways she is searching for herself and her place in the world as she recovers from a serious ankle injury that leaves her debilitated but determined.
In her short vignettes, she quotes Rilke, Wendell Berry, other writers she admires and reminds us how important it is to listen intently to others as in active listening we are rewarded with deeper understanding.
Tumblr media
“The Chair Rocks,” by Ashton Applewhite: From childhood on, we’re barraged by messages that it’s sad to be old. That wrinkles are embarrassing, and old people useless. Author and activist Ashton Applewhite believed them too—until she realized where this prejudice comes from and the damage it does. Lively, funny, and deeply researched, This Chair Rocks traces Applewhite’s journey from apprehensive boomer to pro-aging radical, and in the process debunks myth after myth about late life. The book explains the roots of ageism—in history and in our own age denial. Whether you’re older or hoping to get there, this book will shake you by the shoulders, cheer you up, make you mad, and change the way you see the rest of your life. Age pride!

Page 4: Sparks are flying between Sandra Bullock and Brad Pitt on the set of their new action movie Bullet Train and not just when the cameras are rolling -- their chemistry is through the roof and Sandra lights up whenever she's around Brad and some of the cast and crew could swear they've seen him blushing in her presence -- Brad and Sandra have been hanging out more than your typical costars and they have a lot in common and seem to really enjoy each other's company and they'll frequently spend their breaks socializing and they can often be heard laughing over each other's stories and topics of conversations range from mutual friends and house repairs to more personal stuff, like kids
Page 6: Bruce Willis turned 66 on March 19 and as he celebrates the occasion, he has been reflecting on his life and it's been quite the journey but Bruce looks back at it all with that classic smirk
Page 7: Producers of the Gossip Girl reboot have been begging Blake Lively to join the cast of the new show but she's turned up her nose at the idea -- she's not ungrateful, because the original show made her star, but she closed the book on that part of her life a long time ago -- she's blissfully content in her role as a mom to daughters James, Inez and Betty whom she shares with her husband Ryan Reynolds and being a stay-at-home parent and filming an occasional movie sounds way more appealing to her than returning to that hothouse Gossip Girl universe -- she says she had her show and wants the new team to have theirs, but to die-hard fans, it still feels like a major snub
* After calling it quits on her romance with Ben Affleck in January, Ana de Armas is ready to play the field and Hollywood's heartthrob du jour, Rege-Jean Page has caught her eye and she was over the moon when the Bridgerton hunk recently signed on to her new thriller The Gray, which also stars Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans -- of course, Rege is gorgeous, but Ana also likes that he isn't your typical Tinseltown success story and comes from a rich cultural background, just like she does and she's hoping to get to know him better once they start shooting in L.A. -- while Ana has been warned that won't sit well with Rege's live-in girlfriend, Emily Brown, that doesn't seem to bother Ana
* Janet Jackson's life story is set to get the full documentary treatment next year, and no stone will be left unturned when it comes to her famously dysfunctional family -- the family is freaking out, as well they should be -- Janet will be brutally honest about her late father Joe Jackson, who bullied her and made her feel like she was nothing with out him but her siblings say they had it much worse especially when it came to Michael Jackson, who suffered verbal and physical abuse from Joe throughout his childhood -- Janet, who became a mom at 50 with her businessman ex, Wissam Al Mana, is also ready to tell all about their divorce and custody battle -- doing this documentary has been incredibly cathartic for her and she can't wait to shed light on her family's deep, dark secrets
Page 8: Angelina Jolie has been legally single for two years, and now she's finally ready to mingle -- she's been laying low since her 2016 split from Brad Pitt and she's feels it's time to get out there and she's eager to meet some new and interesting men and the mom of six is open to being hooked up by Hollywood pals like Ellen Pompeo, whom she was seen dining with in Beverly Hills and Angie likes the idea of dating a fellow A-lister who can relate to her about living in the spotlight and Ellen's been helping out with suggestions -- Angie is even open to joining an elite dating service and now the hunt is on to find a suitable bunch of candidates -- she wants fun and adventure again and after months of just being Mom, dressing up, putting on some perfume and engaging in stimulating conversation sounds good to Angie
* It's only been six months since Drew Barrymore launched her chirpy daytime talk show, but behind the scenes, she's on the verge of a major meltdown -- the multitasking mom who shares daughters Olive and Frankie with ex-hubby Will Kopelman, has no idea that juggling work and family would be this hard and she's feeling pressure from every side -- she desperately wants to be there for the kids, but she's trying to make her show a hit, and with her production company, she has a million others things on her plate as well -- the stressed-out star has also been chowing down on junk food and drinking too much caffeine so she can't get more than a few hours of sleep a night -- Drew doesn't want to let anyone down, but if she doesn't dial it back, she's going to collapse from exhaustion
* Matthew Perry announced his engagement to his on-off girlfriend Molly Hurwitz in November, but he seems to be having second thoughts -- he's crazy in love, but he's scared of messing up a good thing by making things official and he also worries what kind of husband he'll make given his health woes and battles with addiction -- Molly has faith in Matthew, but she can see wedding planning is stressing him out, even more so now that the Friends reunion is set to start shooting and he's pushing himself to go through with it, but his doubts are gnawing away at him

Page 16: Ariel Winter brightened up her monochromatic look with a pink face mask during a trip to the hair salon in West Hollywood, Justin Theroux went for a walk with his beloved dog Kuma in NYC, Arnold Schwarzenegger was spotted on his daily bike ride in L.A.
Page 17: Susan Sarandon stopped to get her caffeine fix while shopping solo in Soho
Page 18: Lea Michele proved to be quite the doting mother while walking with her son in a stroller in Brooklyn, Lucy Hale and her dog Elvis were inseparable during an outing in L.A., Krysten Ritter took her RadRover electric bicycle out for a spin in L.A.
Page 19: John Stamos and his wife Caitlin McHugh stopped by an antique shop where they purchased a bunch of old goodies in Santa Monica
Page 20: This year, instead of a traditional runway show, Moschino released a 12-minute film featuring Karen Elson, Shalom Harlow and Amber Vallera wearing new styles from the Fall/Winter 2021 line
Page 21: Alessandra Ambrosio caught up with a pal while walking dogs in L.A., David Harbour eating a treat while out and about in NYC, Daisy Ridley stopped by The Graham Norton Show in London
Page 22: Amelia Gray Hamlin and boyfriend Scott Disick caught some rays while vacationing in Miami, Katie Holmes and boyfriend Emilio Vitolo Jr. color-coordinated their gray-and-black outfits for a lunch date in NYC, Rebel Wilson taking a walk around the neighborhood in L.A.
Page 24: While on the set of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Rachel Brosnahan shielded herself with a see-through umbrella, a newly brunette Lady Gaga in a white suit as she left her hotel in Rome to film the upcoming Gucci biopic, The Masked Singer panelist Jenny McCarthy gave herself a last-minute touch-up before posing for some promo shots
Page 26: Inside My Home -- Chelsea Handler's sleek setup -- she is checking out of her longtime L.A. home
Page 28: In 2009, LeAnn Rimes made headlines when she was caught hooking up with her costar Eddie Cibrian while they were both married to other people and now, more than a decade later, she is opening up about that time in her life and spilling secrets that she's never shared before -- looking back, LeAnn thinks it's unfair that she got raked over the coals like that and the public shaming caused her to suffer panic attacks and all LeAnn did was fall in love -- of course, there are likely big regrets about the way everything happened, but she and Eddie never meant to hurt anyone and they just had this connection they couldn't walk away from and a few months after their romance was revealed LeAnn parted ways with then-husband Dean Sheremet and Eddie filed for divorce from Brandi Glanville and they wed in 2011 -- while LeAnn has been a great stepmom to Eddie's sons Mason and Jack, she'd love to have a child of her own someday and she and Eddie have tried and tried with no success and now that she's pushing 40, they know time is ticking and they could always go the surrogate route, and they just might do it if it doesn't happen naturally in the next few months
Page 29: Liam Hemsworth has been dating Gabriella Brooks for 15 months, and he's so smitten that he could put a ring on it any day now -- Liam's made it clear that he's ready to walk down the aisle again after calling it quits in longtime love Miley Cyrus in 2019 -- everyone is thrilled because Gabriella is so sweet and easygoing, which is just what Liam needs -- Gabriella has already gotten the stamp of approval from the Hemsworth clan, who had long been skeptical of Miley and when Liam brought Gabriella home, his parents thought, that's more like it -- now that Liam's settled in at his new $5 million spread on Byron Bay, all signs point to him popping the question because he's never been happier
* Shedding post-pregnancy weight is never easy but luckily Katy Perry has a secret weapon to help her get back in shape which is Orlando Bloom -- Katy had already dropped 35 pounds since giving birth to the couple's first child, Daisy Dove, thanks to her fitness-obsessed fiance and Orlando has her eating five small vegan meals a day and he follows the same diet to make it easier for her, and Orlando makes sure she hikes or swims at least five days a week and those are the type for fun activities where he can join her -- Orlando's also her biggest cheerleader: during their recent Hawaiian getaway, Katy was nervous because she felt she hadn't lost enough weight but Orlando told her she was one sexy momma and he really is her biggest supporter
* Despite the pandemic, Nicole Kidman's remained one of the busiest women in Hollywood, which is getting under her stuck-at-home husband's skin -- while Keith Urban was forced to cancel his concert tour last year, Nicole had a whirlwind 2020, shooting her miniseries Nine Perfect Strangers in Australia and her historical thriller The Northman in Northern Ireland back-to-back and it's been incredibly hard on Keith because it drives him crazy not being able to get out there on stage -- Nicole hates seeing him the dumps, but she's told him he's lucky to be able to spend so much time with their daughters Sunday and Faith -- with Nicole set to play comedy legend Lucille Ball in Being the Ricardos, which starts filming this spring, that can only put more stress on the marriage but Nicole has no plans to slow down, and she's not making any apologies
Page 30: Patrick Duffy and Linda Purl went from zero to 60 practically overnight, but their turbo-charged romance appears to be slowing down -- ever since Patrick and Linda reconnected last summer, the late-in-life lovebirds have been joined at the hip at Linda's Colorado home, where things have gotten too close for comfort because Patrick's a laid-back guy, but he hasn't had a moment to himself because Linda is always pushing him to get outdoors and do stuff with her and Patrick feels the need for more space and some along time -- spending every moment together and hanging on each other's every word was fun for a while, but they don't want to lose their independence and they realize they need to bring their relationship back down to earth if they actually want to go the distance
* After nearly five blissful years together, Britney Spears and Sam Asghari are still going strong, and it looks like a baby could be in their near future -- Sam recently sent tongues wagging when he revealed that he wants to take their relationship to the next step and be a young dad and Britney is totally on board because she has always wanted another child and now with Sam raring to go, she figures it's the perfect time -- growing her family would be a welcome distraction from Britney's bitter battle with her father Jamie Spears over her controversial conservatorship
* Love Bites -- Jenni "JWoww" Farley and Zack Carpinello engaged, Morena Baccarin and husband Ben McKenzie welcomed a son named Arthur, Nicolas Cage and Riko Shibata married
Page 32: Cover Story -- Palace in Crisis -- the Royal Family is in disarray following Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's bombshell tell-all -- what really offended them was how much Harry and Meghan said they love Queen Elizabeth in one sentence and attacked the institution, everything she stands for and works for, in the next -- it's going to take a miracle for Harry to reconcile with his family after what he and Meghan revealed

LUCY & GRACE
Lucy & Ricky & Will & Grace & Fred & Ethel & Jack & Karen
Tumblr media
[Note: This blog was written before the airing of “We Love Lucy” (S11;E16) on April 9, 2020.]
There’s no denying that the fabulous foursome of “Will & Grace” was inspired by the antics of the gang of the original fabulous four of “I Love Lucy.”
Tumblr media
Debra Messing has always been compared to Lucille Ball in her comedy and appearance.
Tumblr media
“[Lucy] changed the rules of the game for women in comedy and inspired millions of little girls who wanted to make people laugh.” ~ Debra Messing
Tumblr media
In addition to the dynamic of the main quartet, Rosario, Karen’s plain-talking maid (the late Shelley Morrison) bears more than a passing resemblance to Lucy’s stoic housekeeper, Mrs. Porter (Verna Felton) in “Lucy Hires a Maid” (ILL S2;E23).
Tumblr media
As far back as the October 5, 2001 issue of Entertainment Weekly, their Lucy-and-Ricky layout recreates the fun of an “I Love Lucy” episode called "The French Revue" (ILL S3;E7) in which Lucy attempts to sneak into the Tropicana disguised as a bass fiddle!
Tumblr media
In 2017 “Will & Grace” repeated Lucy and Viv’s shower stall stunt from “Lucy Puts In A Shower” (TLS S1;E18) in “Who’s Your Daddy?” (S9;E2) with Debra Messing and Megan Mullalley trying to keep their heads above water.
Tumblr media
In 2020′s “Accidentally on Porpoise” (S11;E11), a tentative Grace gets into a tank and swims with dolphins just like in “Lucy at Marineland” (TLS S4;E1).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
On the special “Lucy”-themed episode aired April 9, 2020, the role of Lucy will actually be played by Debra, Sean and Megan at different times. Ricky, however, will only be played by Eric. As for Fred and Ethel, we’ll see Debra, Sean and Megan rotating among them and taking turns.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Debra will play Lucy in the Vitameatavegamin scene from “Lucy Does a TV Commercial” (ILL S1;E30).
Tumblr media
Sean Hayes will portray Lucy in the chocolate factory scene from “Job Switching” (ILL S2;E1).
Tumblr media
Megan Mullally will be Lucy in the grape-stomping scene from “Lucy’s Italian Movie” (ILL S5;E23).
Tumblr media
Will (Eric McCormack) as Ricky will pop up in all of these memorable moments.
Tumblr media
Lucille and Desi’s daughter, Lucie Arnaz, will be making a cameo in the episode — the first time she has taken on a role that is connected to her parents’ show.
Tumblr media
Arnaz will play the role of the candy factory foreman originally played by Elvia Allman.
“I’m thrilled to be invited to the party and will do my best to honor the memory of Elvia Allman’s iconic performance.” ~ Lucie Arnaz
Tumblr media
“I know my parents would be over the moon to be honored in this way and by such similar talents who bring the same kind of joy to audiences as they did in ‘I Love Lucy’.” ~ Lucie Arnaz
Six Degrees of Lucy
Tumblr media
In a 2002 “Will & Grace” titled “Fagel Attraction” (S4;E23), Barry Livingston played a business associate of Will’s named Vince. Livingston acted opposite Lucille Ball as Arnold Mooney in two episodes of “The Lucy Show” before moving on to “My Three Sons.”
Tumblr media
Other “W&G” / “Lucy” Connections:
Debbie Reynolds (Bobbi Adler) appeared with Lucille Ball on several variety shows and specials
Robert Klein (Martin Adler) appeared opposite Lucie Arnaz on Broadway in They’re Playing Our Song and with Lucie and Lucille Ball in “Night of 100 Stars 2″
Rip Torn (Lionel Banks) appeared opposite Lucille Ball in the film Critic’s Choice (1963)
Cher (Herself) starred in “Cher...and Other Fantasies” (1979), a TV special with Lucille Ball
Joan Collins (Helena Barnes) hosted “All Star Party for Lucille Ball” (1984)
Tumblr media
In 1999 “Will and Grace” produced an episode titled “Yours, Mine or Ours” although the plot bore no resemblance to the 1968 Lucille Ball / Henry Fonda  film Yours, Mine and Ours.

Lockdown Diary Part 3
A personal account during the lockdown in the UK due to the Covid-19 outbreak.
23/03/2020 8:30pm Boris Johnson, UK Prime Minister, gives a live address to the nation to, effectively, put the country on lockdown to stem the spread of the deadly coronavirus strain, Covid-19.
Many of us have been self-isolating for days but this latest development within the UK in reaction to the pandemic feels very serious and very scary. I decided to keep a simple diary and where better but online.
Day 61: Writing this in the afternoon on day 62. An exercise driven day. Two walks and stair climb as usual plus I popped round Jeff’s early evening. First time I’ve been to his house, 1 Garden Row, Elmington. It’s further than I thought so, with walking there an back, I managed a daily total of 14km. It was good to see him and have a social (but social-distanced) beer. When I got home, @9:45pm, I made thai green chicken curry, watch The Report (a great, if worrying film) and then TikTok-ed until gone 5am!
Day 62: Typing this on day 64! Beer round Karen’s. Missed Sam’s quiz.
Day 63: Typing this on day 64! Beer round Karen’s. Again! Well, it is bank holiday Monday! Had dirty pizza for tea and watched The Heat. Again! It is the most piss funny film.
Day 64: Well, I have been feeling guilty about treatung the bank holiday w/e l;ike a bank holiday w/e. It’s dawned on me that that guilt is way too self-disiciplned. I got up about midday, usual two walks and stair climb but that’s it. I need to clean the house from top to bottom, get on top of my online courses, get the garden done, get the car fixed, go shopping…fucking hell - if only I had the time…
Day 65: Today I swapped Amazon prime free trial for about the 5th time in my life. Same card and address - will they get wind of my skullduggery. This is all so I can finish watching Hunters and catch Homecoming S2. I went shopping at Asda near Raunds. I wish I hadn’t, it’s no good for a comprehensive shop. Received an email from RCI inviting me to a Zoom meeting with Pal Mulcahy for a business update. I fear the worst. And it’s at 10:00am, FFS!
Day 66: Logged in an attended zoom forum with Paul Mulcahy and over 250 RCI staff this morning. The message was that there is going to be redundancies. I expected this and expected to fall victim. All staff that are going to be put through cionsultation would be contacted today. I however wasn’t! Very, very surpised. meanwhile, Nick Reilly asked to connect via LinkedIn (including become a LinkedIn staff team member -  that’s new to me so I’ll see what it is but I accepted the invitation) Later, I WhatsApp-ed him and asked who has been affected from IT. All he could tell me was no one on Jon Rodger’s team is under threat. Also, Mark C emailed - I’ll respond tomorrow. I got up at 09:00ish and had my mornming walk before the 10:00am meeting. I am now, at 09:30pm, fucking knackered. Dinner and then bed, methinks but not before one more episdoe of Hunters!
Day 67: Typing on Day 68. Got pretty drunk last night. I’ve got blisters from walking (new boots) so I don’t think I’ll walk tomorrow (well, today!).
Day 68: I did fuck all today. Got up after 1pm, no walking. I did manage to clean the bathroom (and smash my little mirror) and do my 26 stair climb. I am typing at 9pm and I feel whacked!
Day 69: I have an abscess. It’s not too painful (today) but I am going to call the dentist tomorrow (Monday). I think antibiotics are in order. I watched a film, which I actually started yesterday, called The Voices starring Ryan Reynolds, Gemma Arteton and Anna Kendrick. Fuuuuuuuuuuuucking weird. The closing credits are the most bizarre, in context, I’ve ever seen. But, in general, a very good film. Back to normal exercise regime today plus hovered the hall and stairs. Get me. It’ll be interetingh to see my Google Fit figures for May tomorrow.
Day 70: Contacted the dentist who advised salt water rinsing and ibuprofen. But, tbf, it’s a lot better today and the swelling has gone right down. The dentist I called was the Oundle House (Rodericks) one. I was not hopeful since last time I saw them they referred me to their Northampton clinic for root canal work which was quoted at over £600. However, the dentist was very nice, had my x-ray to hand from that last visit and seemed more interested in making sure I’m OK than gaining a paying customer. He still wants to see me when possible though! I must mention the weather. It has been glorious weather nearly every day throughout May (it’s June 1st today). Seriously sunny and like a holiday every day. The news mentioned it today - the level of sunshine throughout the transition from spring to summer is unprecedented, apparently. My T shirt tan is, quite frankly, ridiculous!
Day 71: Today’s ‘must mention’ is what’s going on in the US and it’s not particularly related to Trump. There was a black man killed while under arrest. George Floyd died Monday 25th May (8 days ago) A policeman, who knelt on his neck for minutes while he complained of not being able to breathe, has been charged with murder. Now there are riots and curfews and military intervention all over the country. It’s similar to the English riots of 2011. It’s worrying, sad, scary and not what the fight against the pandemic needs. Most of all, it’s racism rearing its ugly head yet again. I’ve had a normal-ish day. received an email from Jim checking in, talked to a recruiter about a promising job lead (although the hours are 8-5 which I am not happy about), talked to Barry across the road and sent Barzzy a WhatsApp. And I logged in Shaw Academy and started lesson one of module 2 of web Design. It’s been a while, so long overdue, but I only did about 15 minutes. Must try harder / do better! As I type, late (10:10pm) I have dinner cooking and a strange pain in my left side and am in the middle of No Country for Old Men. Don’t think I’ve seen it since the cinema (13 years!)
Day 72: As soon as (well, within a couple of days) I mention the weather, it turns. It’s rained a little and is a lot cooler (15° rather than mid-20s). Much better for walking, I have to say. I finished Hunters today (Amazon Prime series). While I enjoyed it, it got too surreal at the end. It is loosely based on the real story of Nazi hunters in the US in 1977 but the straying from loosely based to down-right ridiculous fiction annoyed me. If it goes to S2, I will watch it, however. Received some of my rental deposit back today (the law changed so that only 5 weeks rent can be demanded as deposit). Over £600. Nice.
Day 73: I made a short video for Marc and Clare’s 26th wedding anniversary. I ‘dressed up’ for it. I enjoyed doing it and I think it was appreciated.
Day 74: Typing on Day 75 for no other reason than I couldn’t be bothered on day 74! I received a letter either today or the day before (well, yesterday or the previous day!) from Mr Minos at the eye clinic informing me that, while there is some stuff going on in both eyes (garnered from the photo scans done at the last hospital appointment), he wants to see me in three months. Always a refief when that happens. Been getting into two series on Amazon: Alex Rider and Modern Love. One is a male Hanna, the other is soppy affairs of the heart based on real life stories (from essays written in the NY Times). Both enjoyable for totally different reasons.
Day 75: Lazyish day. Well, not really, just that I only went for one walk, alebit 6km andI got pissed on. Wehn the rain hit, it was also fucking freezing! Some of the clouds were stunning today, made for great photos. As I type, it’s 21:12, I’m listening the wonderful Phoebe Bridgiers. Now, I’m gonna make some tea and sup a few ales, I reckon.
Day 76: Done lots of walking today (over 13,000 steps) I made sausage casserole with too much chilli (scotch bonnet and birdeye). I had an online (fb) debate with Sam over whether the George Floyd murder was a racial.
Day 77: Received a new (used) wing mirror for the car. £18 with delivery, I reckon that’s a bargain. I cashed in £20 from Prolific as well, so I’m satisfied at the financial full-circle. Dropped the car off at Barnwell (Nene Valley Body Shop) and walked back - 7km. Just about to dive into tea - finishing the blazing hot sausage casserole from yesterday. Then I’m going to do some more Rubik’s cube practice with my recently acquired GoCube.
Day 78: Lots of daily walking, 26 stair climb, press-up and late nights watching TikTok (gone 3am this morning) are making for a constantly knackered Tim Stubbs. Today I made veg soup and cooked up some meatballs. Both are delish. How did I ever to learn how to conjure up such stuff? The Rubik’s cube learning is coming along except that I need good daylight to distinguish between the yellow and white faces on the flipping thing!
Day 79: Listening to Radio 6 most the day and the news is making for dire listening. Forecast of severe recession, especially if there is a second peak of the virus, which I think there will be. Plus, an offshoot of the George Floyd murder and the #BlackLivesMatter movement, institutions and town councils are being lobbied by campaigners to remove statues of anyone associated with things like slavery (one was toppled in Bristol at the w/e) and rename buildings etc. that were named after historical characters with any links to something that now is deemed wrong or offensive. I agree with it but it’s not pleasant to hear amongst other bleak news. Walked to Barnwell to collect my car - front trim reseated and new wing mirror fitted, £20 - bargain (I source the replacement wing mirror). But, also, forked out £165 on car tax! Cleaned the lounge from top to bottom. Knackering!
Day 80: Chatted with Dad and Rita - he’s pissed off with the slavery backlash but otherwise they are both OK. I saw Baz in the Tesco queue where I mentioned my disgust at the Thursday market being allowed (I found I could not maintain 2m at all times just walking to Tesco’s!) and that I really don’t want to catch Covid19 as I will probably die. Maybe a bit dramatic but he messaged me later today to say he’d been thinking on what I said and offered to shop for me. I replied that I am OK to shop but am scared at how people are taking things so much less seriously than when lockdown started yet the virus is still out there just as it was then! I am very touched at his massage. I thoroughly cleaned the bedroom and changed the bedclothes today. House work really knackers me out!
Day 81: Spare room cleaned today. Not much else to type about. It’s Friday, I making curried mince and I don’t feel like a beer. How I’ve changed!
Day 82: I did have beers last night. Ended up going to bed with daylight and dawn chorus for company. Today, when I woke, gone 1pm, I have been greeted by what can only be described as thoroughly depressing news from every quarter. This includes violence in the capital, further virus outbreak in Beijing. Fog’s political posts on FB make for depressing (but vaild) reading. I’m feeling thoroughly fed up today. Not even music can lift my mood…
…but, I am currently listening to Craig Charles on BBCR6 and, I have to say, he’s putting in quite an exceptional effort - there may be hope that my mood might lift, even at gone 8pm! I might have a beer or two and grab something postivity and enjoyment from the day after all.
Day 83: Another late one last night but up before noon today. Started watching something called Condor on Sky One. It’s OK - there’s stuff I wanna waytch on Amazon Prime but, more often than not, it keeps telling me there’s ‘a problem’ when I try to play anything. Pissing me off. I just checked and I have two weeks of the initial 12 of furlough to go. I shall started asking the questions about what might happen on the Connections website.
Day 84: Typing this on Day 85. On the way back from dropping off some shoes for Sean Davies at his brother’s (martin) I met Karen and she said why not pop round for a beer so I did. Certainly not used to a drink on a Monday so that, and the genral upheaval to my evening, while good fun and a nice change, put pay to my usual diary entry! I sorted Amazon Prime out by leaving the TV turned off for over an hour. Day 85: Tim did the garden today and it looks great. The pipes in the bathroom have been knocking loudly, on and off, for a couple of weeks now. Last night, they were so loud that today I took it upon myself to resolve it or ring Woodfords. So, having turned off the water, run the taps dry to get rid of any trapped air and then turned the water back on slowly, I discoved it’s the cistern and its pipes. Woodfords are arranging Corvee to visit. Meanwhile, leaving the water turned off at least stops the noise which is, otherwise, costant and unbearable! I emailed HR a couple of days ago about what’s happening in a couple of weeks time in terms of furlough when the 12 weeks will be up. Sue Cockimngs got back to me attaching an email Deryn sent on 15th May which I never received. Basically, they’ll extend furlough if need be and an update should be forthcoming late May/early June. Well, that time has passed, so who knows what is going to happen. The furlough scheme (CJRS) has been changed by the govenment, I’ve read, and it looks like any new people would have to have been furloughed by June 10th (it’s the 16th today) so no furlough rotation, which is annoying. The CJRS ends 1st October with employer contributions required from 1st August - that’s D-Day as far as I am concerned….so job hunting will have to step up a notch! Day 86: Pete’s birthday and he bought himself the same speaker as me. When I asked if it lived up to his expectations he mentioned it’s better through WiFi than Bluetooth. That confused me as I haven’t got WiFi available on mine…..long story short, I bought the wrong fucking speaker. I got a AudioPro AddOn T10 instead of C10. To say I am fucked off is an understatement. To think I was so pleased at the cheap price I paid. Now I feel like I have wasted  €200. Bollocks.
Day 87: Finished Alex Rider last night. Another series that started off so well and ended a litte weak but, overall, not bad. I’ve started keeping strange meal times…lunch very late (4pm) and dinner really late (11pm). I need to sort it ‘cos it’s playing havoc with my sugar levels. I had a huge hypo while having my second walk today, second day on the trot that’s happened. My late dinner was Chinese chicked curry with a quarter of a scotch bonnet and two birdeye chillies. Delish.
Day 88: I have managed to be bitten yesterday or the day before on one of my walks. There are strange, itchy lumps on my right inner forearm. And I do mean itchy. I trimmed my sideburns today, I was very pissed off with them. My hair looks just a little less shit. I did a shop at Tesco in Corby today. Mainly booze as follows: 20 cans Sam Miguel £18 18 cans Stella £15 20 bottles Bud £10 8 cans Tyskie £9 3 lrg bottles Warsteiner £5 £57 Bargain.
Day 89: Lazy day. One short walk and usual stair climb. Howard and Sue popped round to give me a pressie - bottle of Monkey Shoulder. I’m building up quite a collection of whisky!
Day 90: Dad called and we chatted for an hour or so. I had to apologise for not sending a father’s day card! Dan messaged me and offered to pay for a pizza delivery which I declined.
Football has started again this past week…Prem and Championship only. L1 and L2 season was cut short and Posh missed out on the play-offs by one place. As I type, Everton v Liverpool is on Sky Sports on a Sunday evening - it’s very strange with no crowd. There’s crowd noise being played thorugh the tannoy.

268 Directors and the end of the blog
This post marks the end of the Ask a Director experiment. I’m so grateful to all who have contributed, supported and engaged with it over the past six and a half years.
This blog was started at a time when I felt incredibly alone in the directing field. I had always been taught that a director operates solo, that it was a lonely career and above all, it was based on scarcity. This was a style of working and living that didn't fit for me. I wanted to talk to other directors about their practice and thoughts about the field, both national and international. This blog was started as a way to connect, to uplift other directors and to create a conversation about the changing field and practices.
It's surpassed all of these goals and brought me more joy than I can name.
I'm now at a moment where my practice and advocacy are taking different and exciting paths and it's time for me to put this site to bed. I remain committed to uplifting other directors, to talking about the practice, to flattening hierarchies, to opening doors for new ways of working, and leading rehearsal rooms, companies, and classrooms away from silos and vacuums. Featuring these 268 different directors was just the beginning.
I encourage you all to hire them (and others), advocate for them (and others) and choose to work in a system that values connection and generosity.

Even MORE Pajarita AU Blether
You know those parts in LiS games where the players can literally just have the main character sit down and then they start thinking and narrating to themselves about stuff? And how most of them are totally optional? I call them Rumination Spots. Basically I want finding them to have an impact on the ending, but there to be player options during the Rumination instead of just a unlocked monologue the players have no influence over beyond finding them or not. So for Midquel DLC idea for Pajarita AU, the Rumination Spots would affect Andy’s story.
Actually I was thinking about Lyla tbh, like originally I wasn’t going to because lots of things hinge around Sean taking care of 2 sibs, but then I remember there was some old asks I sent you about everybody getting superpowers. And things being simultaneously easier and harder with another older kid around. Lyla helping ground Sean, while dodging the law (although I wonder if the feds/law enforcement would try to spin it like a kidnapping or even a crime duo or something, bc they suck and I’m bitter). But now I’m trying to consider how Lyla’s presence would affect the overall storyline, which could butterfly away a lot of things… Great now I’m thinking about an AU of an AU lol. Because Lyla at the weed farm would’ve been cool and hilarious, also the observations of the weed farm family (Jacob, Penny, Hannah, Cassidy, Finn) on our little Runaway Super Fam would’ve been great little tidbits to hear. Thoughts? (I think that ask ended with me giving Lyla… Empath powers? Or something, I forgot already sorry).
Possible Lyla Butterflies Ep1: - Go to Lyla’s House - Entirely Optional extra area, Lyla says they should hide at her house after the end events of Ep1 Canon (bc I feel like Ep1 was very short), Lyla & Sean can grab some stuff and her parents are out. Not sure what consequences I want to put on players to offset this blatant thief runaway simulator moment or not. Or maybe Sean and Lyla got dropped off near her house first and start out there instead of at the Diaz’s house first. - Stealing the Tent is more appealing (&if Daniel gets the hoodie, what should Andy and Lyla get?) - because the party is bigger, they need more resources and shelter is a huge deal. Also I feel like this could be a caretaking highlight for Sean toward his little runaway fam. - Idk would Lyla or Andy be down for grabbing more shit off the floor after Daniel trashes it (and a Racist shopowner) with his powers?
Ep2: - MUSHROOM. LIVES. END. OF. DISCUSSION. (even if they can’t take Mushroom with them, Mushroom can stay with the grandparents when the kids flee; Mushroom lives in every AU, not just Lyla-involved ones) - More time at the cabin? Like 1 or 2 days. Honestly I could do with a bit of a survival time breather in the middle of nowhere where we get to look at the kids’ powers (and hint a bit at Sean’s despite them not noticing yet).  - Unsure about the dynamic with Lyla being present with the Grandparents
Ep3-4: Ep3 would be serious butterflies though, the question is what the group and interpersonal dynamics would look like with Lyla there. Like, would she be down for a heist and a getaway or no? Would Daniel be down for a heist is Lyla isn’t into it? Also if she isn’t knocked out, I don’t think she’d be down for leaving Sean behind, she’d fireman carry his ass into a stolen truck, grab the kiddos, grab all their shit, and book it to… A hospital in the middle of nowhere or something.
Maybe Jacob tags along (look I like where the storyline worked out to, but if Jacob was supposed to be such a connecting role in Ep4 then we should’ve gotten more canon convos and hangout options with him, just saying, I feel cheated) bc he kinda needs to go rescue his sister from his willfully delusional parents. But like, the story would be completely different from there, they might not meet Karen at all idfk. (Do I want to give Sarah Lee superpowers? Maybe?!?? I’m very tempted rn??)
Idk how to bring Karen into this. Ideas? Thoughts?
~~~~~~~
Ohhhh, I see. The official LiS Youtube channel calls Rumination spots “Moments of Calm” or “Zen Sequences,” so that’s what I call it.
And yes, I remember you wanted to give Lyla Empath powers, like being able to communicate with the dead.
In my Lyla AU, only Daniel has powers though. Her main role is to be Sean’s voice of reason, because I would want her to influence the plot. She’s the one who convinces Sean to go straight to the Reynolds instead of hiding in a leaky cold cabin for a month, and she tells him to put aside his resentment and really consider finding Karen. My working idea right now is that Lyla did get knocked out at the end of ep3 (idk how she’d end up mixed up in the heist though) but escaped the hospital sooner than Sean and found Karen before he did, and they reunite at Haven Point. Lisbeth would probably be extra scathing to Lyla (”Two young boys are not a family... especially not with another girl who isn’t even related to them.”).
ANALYSIS/COMMENTARY:
Directors
All of the directors this season are new:
Brendan Maher: Spartacus, Upstairs/Downstairs.
Jennifer Getzinger: Mad Men, How to Get Away With Murder, Agent Carter
Norma Bailey: Reign, Heartland
David Moore: Jamestown, Jericho, Shetland
Charlotte Brandstrom: Madam Secretary, Arrow, Grey’s Anatomy
I’m particularly jazzed because one of Getzinger’s 10 Mad Men episodes, “The Suitcase,” is widely considered to be one of the best episodes of the series. I think she’ll do well here.
Like Metin last season, Maher directed the majority of the episodes and they’re all at the beginning of the season. Hopefully this bodes well for a consistent tone/focus/vision at the beginning as we build up to the reunion.
Writers
There are four new writers this season:
Shannon Goss: ER, Harry’s Law, Revenge
Joy Blake: Ghost Whisperer, Heroes, Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior
Karen Campbell: Dexter, Covert Affairs, Unforgettable
Luke Schelhaas: The Good Wife, Law & Order, Smallville
I can’t wait to see what these new writers bring to the table. I’m sad my girl Anne is getting pushed out and/or leaving. But this show really needed to be injected with some new energy.
All in all, I’m kind of excited to see what all of the new blood means for Season 3—and Season 4, because remember, they started padding their writing staff so they could get rolling on not only Season 3 but Season 4 as well.
Mrs. Reynolds might be Sean and Daniel's grandmother. If you get the right lines in Captain Spirit, she mentions that "her grandkids are home for Christmas" and that she hasn't seen them "in ages." In LiS 2, Sean says they have grandparents in the US, but which they don't visit anymore. If that's true, the full name of their mother might be Karen Reynolds (Karen Diaz after marriage), since Sean and Daniel are half mexican half white and Claire doesn't look mexican at all. Any thoughts on this?
Yeah! I actually just mentioned that in my last ask about headcanons on Sean and Daniel’s mom. At first I thought Mrs. Reynolds was just pretending to be their grandmother to protect them, but Michel Koch confirmed on Twitter that the boys are actually biracial: half Mexican, half white. So you’re right!
Also, I have the feeling that because Sean and Daniel grew up with their dad, they’re much more connected to their Mexican heritage (Sean always refers to himself as simply “Mexican American”) and ignore their white side because how Sean feels about his mom.
A Thousand Bad Times - Poi Choreography by Drex
Tumblr media
Poi choreography through the streets of Silver Spring! 2 months ago after the Capitol Seige I spent a solid week as a mass of anxiety, wondering whether DC would be the target of another attack and what the future would bring. As I tried to flow out those feels with some poi dancing this song came on my mix and I felt empowered for the first time in a while. "I can take anything that you give me...it's going to take a lot more to kill me" landed with me and it helped me realize that everything was going to be okay. So I headed to Downtown Silver Spring with my friend Mufasa to record some traveling poi dance choreography in remembrance of that moment and connect with my body. Be sure to go follow him at to see the video I shot of him during this same session! In the meantime, enjoying this poi dancing performance to a new favorite track!
