i’m gay and can’t resist the opportunity to be sappy so here’s a january 1st post to let all of my mutuals know that you are loved by me whether you like it or not and that i’m grateful for every single one of you and am looking forward to getting to know you more in 2024!
when i returned to this rpc after a year long hiatus where a lot of stuff was just going wrong in my life, i was a little nervous that i’d have trouble finding interactions and building relationships both ic and ooc. it was a little difficult at first, but i’m so thankful i stuck it out because right around the corner were some very cool & special people who are not only talented writers and masters of characterization, but genuinely kind & fun people to talk to & get to know.
this post is dedicated to all of my lovely mutuals whether we’ve written together for months or u just followed me today, but there are a few people i want to be gay toward individually under the cut 🥳🏳️‍🌈🩷
@vialaviolenza / @valoroso : my beloved mortis!! you were my first new friend that i made upon the end of my hiatus & i adore you to the moon & back. i knew you were special from the moment i found out you basically live a stone’s throw away from me lol but more than that, you have been such a blessing to me. you’re always willing to listen to my ramblings & crazy ideas & our threads are always fuckin based, so you genuinely have it all & i’m excited for us to become closer in this new year!! 💚💚💚
@lovesigned : bella, i’m kissing u. i remember when you first followed me and we messaged back and forth about how we loved each other’s writing and were fucking nerds about classical allusions & mythology & all that. even now i’m still in awe of how beautifully your prose reads btw. but beyond that you’re probably the funniest person on this website & going absolutely feral with u is always a good time lmfao. i love everything we’ve ever plotted and written and i will love everything we will plot and write in the new year. u are so sexy and cool mwah
@blueshiftting : MEME MY BELOVED u are genuinely the sweetest person ever in the world and you deserve every good thing ever in the new year. not to mention cordelia is a baddie & the immaculate energy you have created for her is untouchable, truly one of the most well-written ocs i’ve encountered. i owe u my life for making the fuckhouse server because it’s always such a vibe in there & it’s been great getting closer to everyone in there, including you.
@rejectshumanity : the coolest person on this website actually,,, but also a total sweetie that i’ve loved every second of talking to. dani when i say i stan you heavily i mean it you genuinely have Thee best take on dio & manage to blend the serious & unserious parts of his character immaculately. i’m excited for when ur inspiration returns to you because i think we all want to see how you will absolutely kill it in the 2024 season lol. either way, you’re a gem & i’m looking forward to growing our friendship in the new year!!
@praeteritus-memories : lu … u are my homie fr like the only constant thing in my life in this rpc for the past 3 (ALMOST 4???) years. coming back to writing with you again has been like returning to a warm hug which i really fucking needed after everything i went through in 2022-23 😭 i love everything we do together & everything we explore in our threads, they’re always a blast & i’m relieved we cannot always pick up where we left off without things being awkward lol. i hope this year treats you kindly, you deserve it luv 🩷
@ironleonine : GEO MY LOVE IM SO SORRY I KNEW I HAD LEFT SOMEONE OUT THIS IS LESBIAN ON LESBIAN CRIME . anyway you are the literal sweetest, kindest, most fun person to talk to be it ic or ooc. i will start 10 million different threads with you and idc i will love every single one. you have such a talent for bringing your characters to life, i will never NOT enjoy writing with you wtf. our chats are always the best even if they’re full of the most random shit lol i feel like you really understand me & the chaotic chemical soup that is my brain. when i marry you in 2024, what then?

don't bother wasting your time if you don't want to read me jumping from topic to topic- I'm serious it's a mess
this convo on a discord server I'm in got me thinking...
I never really considered running away- not in the meaning that I don't seek freedom, God no, I talked about my want for personal freedom in a school writing
But- when I seek it I don't see it in running away, not practical at all to me, I see it more in the future, but I've always been like this, I never look at where i am or where I was, I always focus on what's to come and I don't know if that's a good thing?
When I see liberty I see it in growing up, going to the German university for example, or a university where I get at least a year studying aboard, and I know many people say I won't enjoy it and I'll only long for home but- how would I know without trying?
I have strict parents, protective in other words, so I didn't get to experience alot of things, hell the first friends birhtday party I went to was in 7th grade, and every year before that I got invited but my mother never agreed, hell, my cousin always talks about how her childhood was playing outside with other kids in the neighbourhood, they talk about how we only ever sit at home, but then I think about how my mother never even let me get a chance, hell she bearly let me play with the other kids in the building in the garage-
Which for some reason reminds me how all my brothers knew and have memories with my maternal grandparents but that's a topic for another time ig.
I want a chance to live alone, to experience the responsibility, I've always fantasised about it, with many other things and the rest are mostly fantasy but this is something I could do in real life?? I want a chance st it I want to see if I can handle it, my introverted heart will love it I know that, but that's not the point.
i- I've always been mostly restricted from the outside world in one way or another, never developing social skills having always spent my time at home alone, snd my parents didn't exactly help, so I- I let it out in other places, the Internet, reading, paper, music and- idk where I'm going with this, partly that I now have unrealistic expectations of life
Partly related to romance too, I never experience that (obv) and yet I seem to fantasise it being like in the books, I expect dear future husband to be in love with me- to be a certain type of person, but in the culture I living in and the general place its like a 0.05% chance I'll ever get it, and I don't know why I even bother to continue fantasising but goddam it-
Its my way of escaping, it started when I was so so young, I don't remember a time where I didn't insert myself into fictional worlds to escape reality, even before I could read, snd now stopping seems impossible- is impossible
fuck I talk alot- maybe I should start a little notebook? Instead of letting it out on the Internet, especially when I won't have my phone- I could just write there- yeah I'll do that
For now I'll go insert myself into more fictional worlds starting with spn as I finish season 11 and start 12, aaannnddd this whole rant is on mama Rora and trav and freedom writer-

Why I do chaotic open sandbox RP
Since I'm chatty and avoiding leveling my pirates for the hot shirt apparently...(Rubei doesn't want to show that much skin I swear)
Some of you that come across here might be wondering why I do chaotic open sandbox/twilight zone-esque RP (I can do serious RP by the way, if I'm at someone else's event, or if it's requested privately.) Or if anyone wanted a serious Tumblr RP thread I'd even consider that, most of my characters are meant to be dark/serious RP.
TL:DR version - I've done/tried lore-strict RP. I don't find it as fun AND I have seen too many communities die from rules stifling creativity and I won't do it. I don't care if anyone else wants to do it, if that's what's fun for you, go for it! Awesome!
You probably WON'T like my content though so....
Long rambly story:
*uses old shaky voice because I'm a player most consider WAY too old* In my day...
I've been roleplaying since Ultima Online (kudos if you even know what that is). Well before that, I roleplayed on FORUMS and IIRC and chat rooms before I played games for it. I have been both guild leader, and event organizer, for a very VERY long time. I used to host server-wide events, I've ran many mostly successful roleplay guilds/fcs (most even with their own lore/storyline). That's not to brag, that's to say I've been doing this a long time, and tried a lot of things.
Since I was a writer/author before I started roleplaying, and didn't come from a background with rules like DnD for instance, I can't stand writing in boxes. By that I mean, I like to take the lore, consider it, pick it apart, then find the loopholes and run with them. That's what's fun for me. I do try to keep it in mind, I can explain EVERY one of my wild RP characters with the lore. I can play every single one of them in a serious RP environment if I need to as well.
However, as you might have noticed with Persis and Rulian both...I can't write in boxes very long. Persis was meant to be Hyth, I decided I wanted the freedom to play Hyth as I imagined how he could have been instead of the box of what he was. Rulian was meant to be Aymeric, he really was, but...we'll not talk about the tiny cubicle the game has Aymeric stuck in, it makes me sad.
I don't like gatekeeping. I don't like hate. I don't like negativity. I'm too old to listen to someone telling me I'm playing a fictional character in a fictional world 'wrong'. And after years and years of dealing with that in fandoms...I said no, and started blocking those people, and building safe places for people like me instead. I have lost too many REAL people in the last few years to take any time for granted and I won't waste it on things that aren't fun for me.
The fun must come first RP (chaos like Bram) started back in Pandaria on WoW when I met people who liked that kind of RP. It trickled in with Thorne on FF, Inxli was my more serious attempt but he has chaos RP all around him. Bram is my chaos/fun alt.
The last few years in the real world have absolutely sucked for most people. The last thing any of us needs is our safe escape places to suck too. And most of us need a laugh, or a pick me up, or just a few hours of FUN to destress. And that's what I want to offer to those who need it. And judging by how Thorne has regained popularity at Story Hall over the other alts I bring to it, I think people DO need some right now.
It's okay if you don't. I understand. I used to do really serious dark lore-strict RP. I get it. I just don't want to do it right now for my events. Privately is a different animal.
Thank you to everyone who does follow me. Those who enjoy my content, even if it's chaotic and a little out there sometimes.
Those who don't, it's okay. Please feel free to go find other content creators that make you happy. You don't need to follow/interact with ones that don't, I promise. And I won't hold it against you.
Have fun everyone!

God...
This place is dustier than my bedroom likely is. Granted, I haven't seen my previous bedroom in almost a year, so that's just kind of a guess.
Greetings, to anybody who sees this post. Whether you are one of the many people that may or may not decide to read my rare posting in multiple servers including my own, and also to the singular person that appears to still follow this blog. Hopefully you and anyone else who might follow this soon will not have had their time wasted.
AUHAHAHAHAHA I will only know if that actually worked when I check this after posting.
I... Am bit shitty when it comes to showing my content for projects. A lot of it's usually because peopleing is not easy, especially when I've developed a mild distrust in others that I haven't had long enough of a connection to to solidly believe they're a... "person"? It's a little hard to explain, and I don't want to explain it here.
I have a lot of ideas.
I've compiled two, maybe three years worth of notes in my own personal archive server. And throughout most of it, I've spent time coming up with designs, changing those designs in subtle, drastic, or ultimately just keeping the same design but giving it a fun fact that is ultimately meaningless in the long run
But I really don't have a lot as far as writing.
No, I don't mean I haven't written anything for this, in terms of story- just that uh, in all the things I've written, I'm not really satisfied with any of them. Some of them were set before I knew what I was truly trying to do, and currently I struggle as much just to tailor a pleasing beginning, or even work within my own parameters I set up to make my job a little free-er.
But in the long run, the story is something that exists in fragmented pieces in my head, and trying to translate that (including the fact that it's fragmented) onto a document- again, where do I even begin?
Like, I'm basically just stuck in the premise of-
> child has been running around and scavenging through abandoned areas of old towns and shit, killing strange demented wildlife whenever they don't find some conveniently stored food
> child happens to find the remains of a camp, which would become important later in a very roundabout way
> something something they start running away because their past is actively hunting them, only for them to run into something equally as terrifying
And I have the most Vegas of transitioning for the next portion after that, but-
I've yet to find a satisfying way to put that into a longer story, preferably more then 5 pages.
But in the meantime, I've drawn, made notes, asked people who listen for ideas, and I've even attempted to make music! Kind of shitty, crude even. But music!
And I hope to build some kind of full soundtrack, among other things, whether or not the people I've enlisted to help me with this whole thing are there too. Because honestly, I love the contributions people have made, but I also recognize that if there's no one else to rely on, you got to start taking things into your own hands, and uh, ahem, "JUST- DO- IT!!"
Or something like that.
And anybody who has seen this project from start to finish, relevancy to irrelevancy, shitpost to slightly serious shitpost-
Thank you.
You all hold a special place in the detective style mystery board of photos and other assorted things interconnected that is my mind, and in further, my metaphorically pin filled heart.
A lot of this project is for me, but it's also indirectly for a lot of you, whether it's to express the care I have (in some strangely displayed manners), or just to tell a very convoluted, perhaps endless story everyone can enjoy. If you know the truth to it, then you know.
I can't promise it'll be anytime soon, but I'm probably going to keep at this project until the day I physically can't keep it in my mind. Ever. And that implies that I won't be able to keep the memories of others alive too, and I will *always* do that.
People might have come and gone, but the memories will be there,
Forevermore.
See you folks when I remember to post another thing, hopefully this is a reasonable enough "where have I been" type thing.
- Edmund Endless

weeks ago, before the pirate attack, we had dinner together.
it was a warm spring evening with a flowery scent on the breeze. he knew where i lived but i didn't really know... well.. anything about him, i realized as i stood on my front steps waiting. he pulled up in a bright yellow sports car that suited him perfectly. sleek, sure, but also slightly silly and embarrassing. unless you drive it with confidence.
i wore my second-sexiest outfit, hoping that it said 'i don't think this is a date, but i want it to be.' if he was surprised he didn't show it, and as he stepped out to greet me and open my passenger door he was the perfect gentleman.
later, at dinner, he told me about his life. growing up in london, and then the countryside, and going to school for film, and how his passion for technology only grew after that.
'for me, film making has always been the perfect combination of different technologies with artistic expression'
i nodded, and then murmured 'yes, i totally agree' because i was worried i hadn't spoken in too long.
'i'm sorry, i'm talking too much. you must be bored of me already and we haven't even got to the project...'
'no, no. that's alright. i love it. i - i'm enjoying it. really.'
as the hours ticked by and the other guests in the restaurant slowly filtered away his tone shifted, becoming more serious. he started explaining the process behind the virtual film sets we were building. some of it didn't make sense to me, but i caught little phrases that i tried desperately to memorize and write down in my notebook later. 'causal algorithm' was one, and something about a 'quantum bubble'.
i let out a little giggle at the word 'bubble' because i wasn't expecting it. that's how it stuck in my mind. i thought it was kind of cute, but then i saw his eyes looking back at me, deadly serious. i realised, mortified, that the mood of the conversation had shifted while i was busy trying to pretend i understood it...
this wasn't a date. no, it was an initiation. while i wasn't paying attention i had been transformed unwittingly from crew member to co-conspirator. he was letting me in on a secret, and he had waited until later in the evening, with fewer people around, to do it.
'the place we're building... it's real.'
he pauses for a moment, almost as if he expects applause. then i say, 'yeah, we're building a real alternative to a film studio. something that can be saved and changed and used an infinite number of times. it's going to have a huge impact on the industry. it's exciting!'
'no, it's real.'
this time i just pause and stare at him.
'the core we use, it's different. i don't even fully understand it, but i was shown how to use it,' he says in a hushed but excited voice.
'what do you mean?'
'i mean those props we're building, those places, the bodies we use when we're inside... they aren't saved to some computer server somewhere.'
and it clicks, finally, and i know it before he says it.
'they're saved to a physical place, in space and time. they're real.'

Q&A - Build Your Own Story Week
This time on the writers discord server, the question of the day was set-up as a 5 part response over the week. The moderators spent the week asking us questions about our preferences, storytelling, characters writing and worldbuilding in the hopes it would give us a better understanding of our writing and maybe even give us some potential new WIPS to work on. Some days were simple, others were a bit more complicated or had multiple parts to it.
Instead of posting my responses separately I decided to compile them all here in one post. No messy searching for me XD. Enjoy!
what is your favorite (or least favorite) genre to write, and why? do most of your WIPs fall in the same genre?
I like hopeful fantasy, fix-its, what-ifs, supernatural/mythic fantasy, steampunk and slice-of life.
I like reading romance (but am very fussy) but don't like writing it. Definitely not a fan of crime/horror.
I guess I don't like the dreary, but I do like questionable endings, non-perfect endings, vague endings (so long as the story itself is solid enough). I mean, one my fave stories sever is Harmony by Project ITOH. I also the 'for-want-of-a-nail' trope so the speculative what if this did(n't) happen stories or plots where things line up just so are great.
Most of my WIPS are what ifs, fix-its or continuations. they tend to have a funny/serious or happy/peaceful tone.
if you were to take two of your favorite plot devices and one of your least favorite, what sort of plot could you make from that? (within the bounds of what you’re willing to write!)
Two plot devices I like are non-perfect happy endings that came with some sort of change/loss and for-want-of-a-nail, what-if type situations. Or maybe fond family. That's good stuff.
One I don't like but could maybe possibly write is love triangles or typical hero object quest things.
One I don't like and definitely could not write is those goddamn annoying misunderstandings that could be easily avoided if the characters just stopped, took a breath, and waited for just one damn moment.
Worldbuilding Questions
Does your world have magic? How is it used?
What historical era does it take place in? (OR, if it's your own fantasy world, what important events have happened before this point?)
Is there running water?
What does the difference between the classes look like? (Is there significant class division?)
freebie! pick a random element that you'd like to include and consider how that informs the rest of your world! (for example, the existence of ghosts!)
Magic
I'm undecided on whether or not I have magic. Probably not. But if I do go with it it'll be used in conjunction with science so they'll support each other.
Historical Era
Some undecided millennium after a global apocalypse in a fantasy world. I.E era. There's been loads of technological advancements so i guess it's semi-modern?
Running Water
Some places yes, other places no. Haven't worked out the technology of it yet.
Classism
There are class differences, to varying degrees. There are a lot of displaced people and new nations thanks to the societal and ecological changes from the apocalypse so people are still kind working it out. Some have managed something close to equality or democracy, some haven't.
Quirks
I'll have to pick a few faves, I think.
The Apocalypse: It wasn't anything grizzly like a meteor or disease or something. It's just that there was a difference in space causing the planet to be exposed to a greater degree of light and heat. That fractional amount was just enough to completely through the ecosystem out of wack, which then messes with society.
Leyakist/Manteia: Really cool continents. Solarpunk meets afrofutirism meets fantasy. The continents themselves are made not of your typical land, but one really freaking huge lotus pad shaped fungis. It's one fungi but it has to pad growths so there are two continents. The people can travel to each other through the deep sea stems. No one knows about this. The continents are also completely isolated from the rest of the world because the fungi messes with the wind and ocean patterns.
MaiRycia: A ginormous bow shaped continent often thought of as two because the centre area is under the control of two allied nations. The lower nation is willfully isolated so no one can go through them. Instead they have to go through the top nation which is super wealthy because of all the trade. The right of MaiRycia is entirely a religious empire and the left is a bunch of indivual nations of various governances. People like the centre being cut off for this reason.
Aurora River: The planet has rings that change colours seasonally (which actually makes it a useful annual calander). The shadow it casts is called the Aurora River and is a common travel route.
Kalreem: A continent full of lakes and fault line hotsprings. The aesthetic is a mix of Venice, SE Asia and art nouveau.
Wicklser: Gourd shaped continent with mountains, lakes, rivers and waterfalls. Split by a river that runs along it's length that has a ginormous boat train running on it. The train is also a nation with underground cities.
Belryde: Almost always winter here. Shaped like a penguin.
Main Cast Questions
first and foremost, do you have multiple POVs, or only one? are you writing this in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd?
next, think a little bit about your story so far… what kind of role would your main characters have in this world? do the main events happen to them, or do they go out and seek change?
and, perhaps most importantly… what are some flaws you might give them?
I usually focus on just one characters POV, but sometimes I'll do 2 or even 3 if I'm feeling particularly brave.
I almost always write in 3rd person.
Right now I just have a world, but the stories would probably be on a smaller scale, people living their lives, going through relationships, exploring the world around them, going on their own adventures. The worlds events would affect them but wouldn't be the focus.
Flaws are tricky, depends which characters and story I choose.
so far, we’ve looked at genre, plot, worldbuilding, and most recently, our main cast! now that we have some main foundations, we’re going to look at something a bit more nuanced… antagonists. depending on your story, this role could be fulfilled by a lot of people or things. it might be nature itself, the MC’s flaws, or an external “villain.” so! who’s the villain of this story?
Antagonists! oh no……um……….
This one's difficult to answer since I don't have a set story and only a handful of OCs. I'm still focused on setting up the foundations of the setting. As such I'll answer this in three parts: ideas for my OCs, ideas for planned fanfic wips and the sorts of antagonists i find i tend to like or write.
First things first, the OCs.
Lale, Silvaiarin and Silvaiarins sister (really need a name for her) are all from the same story. Their story is a complicated one so I'll focus on their individual antagonists. For Silvaiarin and his sister their antagonists are their conflicting desires and the people/politics at home. Silvaiarin wants to leave to marry Lale. His sister wants to be the next ruler. But traditions are getting in the way of their goals so they have to not only defy tradition but break it and remake it anew entirely. Lale has to face the uncertainty of Vaias' family when gaining their approval and Vaias' own personal issues. Worse, they're all preparing for a massive war, so the opposing leaders are also major antagonists.
Verita is survivor of a conflict zone, human trafficking and institutional/systemic violence. Her story is about her surviving it, growing through it and taking her place in the world. Her antagonists are the powers that be, the ignorance and prejudice of the common people, the systemic abuse and discrimination and most horribly, herself. No one comes out of that in one piece. She puts herself through the wringer trying to make it out as mentally intact as possible, then she must learn to heal, even if it means discarding the methods that kept her safe and sane in the first place. Her choices themselves are the antagonists.
Myras' story is about her achieving her dream of becoming a prosthetist. I'm not sure what that would make her antagonist? Her lacking skills? A character flaw? Maybe I could make contradicting goals or values. I'm really not sure yet 😅
Next are the antagonists in my favourite fanfic wips and ideas.
The one I'm most looking forward to is a modern au MDZS one where Jiang Yanli leaves her household with her siblings to live in a safe home instead. It's about her no longer just surviving, but living. The antagonists are her parents, conflicting internal goals and values (in particular the importance she places on her siblings and her role as the one who raised them, and her needing to learn to live as herself rather than only perceiving herself through her role as a caregiver), the issues her siblings are dealing with, conflicting wants/needs & values/goals.
Another MDZS fic, I'm going to have Madam Jin overthrow her husband and take over the Lanling Jin Sect by allying herself with his victims, especially his bastards and their mothers. Her antagonists will be her husband, much of the Jin Sect, the cultivations worlds traditional values and her own traditional values and prejudices.
There are a couple of Pet Shop of Horrors fanfics where Leon tries to find D. I'm not sure what this makes the antagonist. Their relationship issues? Communication issues? Distance?
There are others but those are the ones I know best off the top of my head.
Lastly, antagonist types I tend to write or favour.
When it comes to antagonist characters I definitely prefer some flavour, an interesting motive, complicated relationships, depths. Characters that aren't cookie cutter baddy of the day types.
Concept type antagonists are fun when they involve the internal conflicts and growth of the characters, like the conflict between needs and wants or goals and values. The sorts that come with difficult non-perfect choices, especially if there's not clear cut right or wrong and the consequences aren't ideal but work well. You win some you lose some, that sort of thing. Societal/Cultural based conflicts, especially those that provoke thoughts of 'what if' are also fun but I tend to prefer reading them to writing them.

BGM: Daft Punk - One More Time
Today I worked early. My company had changed its policy that says we can judge if we wear our masks at the workplace, so today I didn't wear my mask during the work. But I heard the number of infected people is increasing so I have to be careful about that. I didn't have any good reason about not wearing my mask. Just I obeyed my inner voice or inspiration, that's all. The life without masks, or without the fear for corona is getting realized. But, when I went to the bathroom I saw my face reflected by its mirror, and got surprised by it. The life like "before" corona will be back after a long time in the future. About this kind of thing, I can never think tactical or clever ideas. I just move by my inspiration only. TBH I can't be proud of that because I started my work, or even went to Waseda by my inspirations. There were no firm reasons. And also, my inner child whispered to me to quit alcohol and start attending the meeting about autism. That's the way of my life. No intention.
This afternoon I listen to Motoharu Sano's tunes again. For example, his "SOMEDAY" and "Rock'n Roll Night". I felt really happy or satisfied because these songs sounded celebrating our modern life. He is certainly respected by various Japanese musicians. I remember myself. Me, when I was just a stray sheep, I tried hard to "obey" the people who walked in front of me and learn something from them. But, maybe because I am an egoistic person, I broke up with them. I couldn't stay modest. Now I don't follow anyone in my life. Of course, I respect some people as my teachers and am learning a lot of important things every day from them. But I want to have an initiative in myself. I owe a responsibility of my activity of believing and following someone. Without that, I just give myself to someone fully and completely forever. Then I would lose my initiative and become a slave or robot. That's not the one I wish.
I read Eiko Ikegami's book "Intelligence As Autism" after a long time. In this book, she talks about how autistic people have their rich recognitions of this world. I learn the basic richness of this world itself by those descriptions in that book. Me, I am sometimes said that my English is good. That skill of language might be able to called as "gifted". That recognition or special skills are clearly beyond the normality or common. But they should get their dignities. We should treat their ways of recognizing this world as "some of them". They are precious things which support this world, this real's rich diversity. I guess that kind of neurodiversity, that fact which says every people's ability is completely different and therefore this world is chaotic totally, therefore this world is beautiful and rich. I thought about that variety our brains can have.
This evening I attended an online meeting on ZOOM (I made a serious mistake and was late to come there. I am ashamed). I did a presentation about Discord today. Spending my days learning English on Discord is the main content of it. How am I making or building myself by learning it... I worried a lot, but other members gave me honest opinions and questions during that time so I am glad about that. From the topic of servers/communities on Discord, we talked about real communities in our rural life, and the topics went various directions vastly... I started this series of meeting when the corona panic happened actually, and found that every time I attend this I have impressed by other people's wise opinions. Yes, learning and building connections by/with others must be a way of heal myself actually. I want to live on the days of learning by this kind of meeting or enjoying Discord life. Like Motoharu Sano sings, "Beat Goes On". My learning must never end.

"Sorry I'm late," Izuku slid into the chair, a bit out of breath from running the whole way to the restaurant. "There was a small incident I had to take care of."
"No worries, I've only been here a few minutes myself." Yagi gave his pupil a warm smile. "I hope everything was resolved?"
"Oh yeah, it was just a purse snatcher. Nothing big." He waved it off, grabbing the water in front of him.
The café was a nice little hole in the wall Izuku had found a few weeks ago. It was hardly ever busy, even during the lunch rush hour, so it was easy to stop by to grab a quick bite. When he mentioned it to Yagi, it sort of turned into their informal weekly get-together spot. With Izuku's hero career on the rise, he was finding himself busier and busier every day, which meant he couldn't see his mentor as often. So he always looked forward to their lunch dates.
"Back again?" your bright voice said between them. "You fellas are like clockwork."
Izuku, mid-sip, turned to you and nearly choked on his water. They'd been coming here for three weeks now and for the third week in a row, you'd been their server. Maybe it was the way you smiled at him or maybe it was the way you always snuck quick glances at him from across the room, but Izuku's brain always seemed to turn off around you.
He didn’t even realize he'd spilled his water until you pulled a towel from your apron to wipe up the puddle on the table. Izuku stammered out an apology as he looked up at you, cheeks tinged cherry red at his fumble, but you only smiled in return.
"It looks like you could use a minute, I'll go get another water for you." And with that, you took the soaked towel and half-empty cup, disappearing from his tunnel vision.
"You alright?" Yagi tried to keep his serious face on, but he couldn't help the twinkle in his eyes because he was right. Now he just needed his plan to go off smoothly. The only problem; Izuku was anything but smooth.
"Uh…yeah," he said, inspecting his wet shirt. "Sorry, I don't know what happened."
The young pro glanced around the small café. It was pretty empty, which wasn't all the unusual. The few patrons the place did have were scattered about and none seemed to have noticed his little blunder.
"Don't sweat it my boy, it happens." The retired hero checked his cell before pocketing the device. "It's going to be a beautiful weekend, do you have plans?"
"I've picked up a few extra shifts on Saturday for Oxman."
Izuku didn't bother with the menu, he always ordered the same thing. Instead, he tried to dab the water out of the soaked fabric, completely oblivious to you approaching the table for the second time.
"You picked up more shifts? For Saturday?" This was throwing a wrench into Yagi's plans. "Don't you think you should take a break? You've been overworking yourself lately and-"
"I've got fresh water for-" Izuku flinched and before you could even finish the sentence, his arm knocked the glass out of your hand, spilling the contents on the table in a mini waterfall.
Both men jumped up as water cascaded over all four sides. This time, it did catch the attention of the other customers. All eyes on them, Izuku flushed, profusely apologizing for the mess as he grabbed as many napkins as he could.
"Calm down, It's alright," you laughed it off, picking up the dripping menus. "I'll just move you to another table. No worries."
The thought of staying any longer after he so thoroughly embarrassed himself, especially in front of you, was torture. No, he had to get out of here before he messed anything else up.
"I'm sorry, uh, I'm, I have to- uh, I have to go," was all he managed to say before he darted from the building at lightning speed.
Yagi sighed and pulled his phone out, typing furiously. He'd expected a few kinks, but this was quickly going south. No, he could salvage this still. He just needed to adjust his plan. Oxman's sector usually ran through Kinro Park. That could work.
"Sorry about the mess," Yagi sighed, crossing his arms.
"It's fine, but is he alright?" You couldn't help but stare out the door that Izuku bolted from.
"The life of a hero." He turned to you. "He's been working so much and unfortunately he'll miss the festivities on Saturday."
"What festivities?" You cocked your head, focusing on him.
"Oh, you didn't hear?" He smiled. Yes, this could work.
Tumblr media
Saturday came all too quickly and Izuku found himself in Kinro Park, a large expanse of land that many people flocked to during warm days such as this one. It had everything: ponds, trails, bridges, forests, etc. The park was crowded today with all sorts of people trying to enjoy the nice weather.
An hour into patrol and the only things he'd done so far was catching a stray balloon from floating away and retrieving some phones people had dropped in a few ponds. Not very exciting, but it was nice to have a few days where he didn't have to fight super-powered villains. Small things like these were also part of being a hero.
When he wasn't saving phones from drowning, he thought back on the events that happened earlier that week. Replaying the disaster at the café over and over in his head. How could he possibly go back now? Especially when he acted like a bull in a china shop around you. He was a pro hero for goodness sake, nothing should be able to beat him, yet there you were, taking him down with a single disarmingly cute smile. What was wrong with him?
Lost in thought, he hadn't realized he had walked down one of the smaller trails that lead towards an even smaller grove where a couple of picnic tables were scattered about the grassy area. This trail was a lesser-known path that lead into the heart of the forest, but hardly anyone ever came here simply because the dirt path was so obscure and overgrown, most didn't bother. He was about to turn back when he heard a crack and a startled yelp.
Without a second of hesitation, he kicked it into high gear, racing into the grove to see someone hanging off a branch, halfway up a large oak tree. The mostly broken-off branch they were hanging on was too thin to support anyone's weight so it was only a matter of time before it completely gave way. When the branch finally snapped, Izuku was there, catching them bridle style, midair with ease. What he was not expecting was to come face to face with you: hair ruffled, eyes wide, and a tight grip around his neck.
"Deku!" you whispered a bit breathless. "Thanks."
You knew his name. Sure he was a hero on the rise, but he wasn't a top pro yet and in his opinion, no one very recognizable. Baffled by the recognition, he could only stare and stumble slightly when he landed.
"Deku?" you said again, cocking your head slightly as he still kept a solid grip on you once you were back on the ground. "Are you alright?"
That broke him out of his trance. "I think I should be asking you that." Setting you on your feet, he stepped back to give you some space, even as he wished he could stay closer. "Are you alright?"
Inspecting yourself for injuries, you shrugged with a lopsided smile. "Well, I'm still in one piece thanks to you."
"If you don't mind me asking, um, what were you climbing the tree for anyway?"
Snapping your fingers and turning to the tree again, you pointed near the top. "My bag. I don't know how but I set it down on the table and I turned my back for like one second and suddenly it's all the way up there. All my stuff is in there, I can't get home without it." You sighed and turned to him. "And of course, the day I decide to come all the way out here for this festival, I get lost and now my bag is stuck in a tree."
"What festival?" Izuku had been all over this park and he'd heard no talk of a festival happening today.
"All Might told me about it." You looked shyly at Deku. "He said you'd be too busy working to go so he gave me one of his tickets, but those directions were so confusing and I wound up here."
Izuku definitely didn't remember plans to go to any festival with Yagi this week. Although, there was an event happening in the park next week to showcase a new play in the newly refurbished amphitheater. Yagi had been given tickets and he invited Izuku as his plus one. But he would hardly call that a festival and besides, that was next week.
"The tickets in my bag. Maybe you can make sense of those directions?" You perked up, pointing to the swaying bag high up in the tree. "Also, my only way home is in there, so I kinda need it back."
"Right, I'll get it, hold on," he said and easily made the tall leap to swipe the bag off the branch. When he landed, he handed it to you with a nervous smile. "Safe and sound."
"Thank you Deku, really," you said, brushing off a few stray leaves, "I know it was probably stupid to climb the tree, but I am glad you got here when you did. You really saved me there."
"I'm glad I could help." There was a slight linger in the shared gaze before he broke it off shuffling his boots. It was like his body suddenly had no idea what to do around you. "Um, did you say All Might gave you tickets?"
There was a spark in your eyes at the name. "Well, I know you're probably used to it, but when All Might offered them to me, how could I say no? It's All Might!" Even in retirement, All Might was still just as popular.
The fact that you seemed so giddy about it all only made Izuku's heart beat faster. You were excited by heroes just like he was, or rather, still is. But this time, in your eyes, he was one of those heroes.
After digging through your bag, you produced the small ticket and showed it to Izuku. "The map is on the back, but I can't really make sense of it. It almost looks like it was drawn from memory or something. The festival looks like it should be here in this grove, but obviously, that can't be right."
Izuku inspected the ticket. It seemed normal enough, but after a close examination, he could see a small second layer on top of the paper. A quick scratch at it revealed a sticker that when peeled back, showed the actual ticket for the theatre event next week. Just what was Yagi trying to do?
"What is that?" you grabbed the ticket, peeling the rest of the sticker off. "It's a fake? Why would All Might give me a fake ticket?" This time you looked to Izuku for the answer, but he was just as confused as you.
"It's a real ticket, just not to the right event." Izuku crossed his arms. "I don't know why he would do that."
"Great," you sighed, slinging the bag over your shoulder. "Well, I guess there's no reason to stay here. Thanks again Deku, you know, for saving me and all."
He rubbed the back of his head with a lopsided smile. "Anytime. I need to get back to patrol, but if you decide to climb anymore trees anytime soon, I'll be around."
That got a hearty laugh from you and you lightly pushed his shoulder as you walked past him. "Careful hotshot, you're giving me ideas." That got a small blush from the hero. "And if you decide you're hungry again, I'll be at the café." With a wink, you readjusted your bag and headed towards the trail.
Izuku stood there, at a loss for words as you stepped onto the path. What was he supposed to do now? Did you seriously want him back at the café after the catastrophe he left you with last time? A thousand thoughts zipped through his mind so fast he had to remind himself to breathe.
Another startled yelp brought him out of the whirlpool of thoughts he was drowning in and he looked up. There, blocking your exit, was a small drone with a blue glow fading in and out on the top. It was a familiar design he would recognize anywhere: Mei Hatsume. Why one of her drones was out in the middle of the forest was anyone's guess.
"Target locked." A mechanical voice rang out from the small device.
"Uh, is this thing yours?" you asked, slowly backing away from it.
"Engaging enemy," the voice said before two prongs jutted out the front, each sparking with electricity.
Izuku moved so fast you didn't even realize he'd put himself between you and the drone until green filled your vision, his hand rested reassuringly on your arm. Your focus quickly left the drone and turned to his face, or what you could see of it. Jaw locked, eyes narrowed, and a warm hand melting into your skin. This was the closest you'd been to the pro and despite the seemingly dangerous threat in front of you, you didn't feel in danger. Not with Izuku around.
"Whoops, my bad!" Yagi popped his head out from behind the bushes to your right, holding a large remote in his hand. "I'm so sorry about that!" He said, messing with the full panel of buttons. It seemed like overkill for such a small drone, but if this really was Mei's then that would actually make a lot of sense. Yagi didn't seem to understand what any of the buttons did and resorted to button smashing. That was a bad idea.
The machine sparked and glitched in the air, the prongs jutting back in and out a few times. When it finally stilled, the gentle blue darkened to a deep red and the electric prongs were replaced by small turrets. "Activating instant kill mode."
"All Might!" Izuku warned, gripping your arm tighter in case he needed to make a quick escape.
"I've got it! I've got it!" He, in fact, did not have it. But he did continue his rapid button mashing and one of them must've been the off switch because the device immediately beeped twice and crashed ungracefully to the ground. "See, everything's fine!"
"Who puts instant kill mode on a drone?" you breathed, your own bruising grip on Izuku's shoulder not letting up.
Izuku's guard still up, he let go of you to inspect the device lying lifelessly on the ground. When he was satisfied that it was powered down, he turned his glare towards Yagi, who was still standing sheepishly in the bushes.
"What is going on?" you asked, puzzled by pretty much the entire situation.
Izuku marched towards his mentor and grabbed his arm, hauling him out of the bushes. The man didn't put up much of a fight as Izuku lead him a little farther away, holding a hand telling you to wait where you were for just a moment. When he was out of earshot, he looked up at the retired hero.
"What was that?"
"I was just testing out a drone for young Hatsume," Yagi forced a smile, "It was a failure."
"There's something…strange going on with you lately." Izuku glanced back at you, who had ventured closer to the drone in curiosity. "Why'd you give her that ticket? And why'd you cover it up with a fake event?"
Yagi cocked his head, trying to figure out the best way out of this. "Well, I- um I was just trying to help."
"Help with what?"
The older man let out an exhausted sigh. "It's obvious what's going on between the two of you, but I don't think either of you sees it. Ever since you met that girl, you've been distracted. I was just trying to…speed things along."
Izuku blinked, registering the information before he stepped back, face red. "Wait, so you were trying to-to, play matchmaker?" The thought filled the poor hero with such a heavy embarrassment that All Might of all people was interfering with his…love life.
Yagi groaned and rubbed his face. "No, well sort of. Look, I'm sorry, I just, you were getting so lost in your work that you were neglecting other aspects of your life. I didn't mean to go this far, I just wanted you to realize what was in front of you." He placed his hand on Izuku's shoulder with a sigh. "I was exactly like you at your age. Wanting nothing more than to be the hero that everyone could rely on. But at the cost of a personal life. I'm not saying to abandon your goals, but don't make the same mistakes that I did."
Izuku was only half-listening, too focused on the fact that his mentor, a man he considered a father figure, was trying to set him up with you. You, the one person who turned his stomach into a butterfly sanctuary. The person who seemed to unbalance him with a single look. The person who constantly filled his mind- maybe Yagi had a point. But that didn't make it any less awkward.
"So the bag-"
"Was me."
"The tickets?"
"I thought once you realized the mistake, you'd take her to the show instead."
"And the drone?"
"You were letting her walk away, it was a last resort." He looked down at the controller. "Although, I probably should've practiced more with it. Hatsume makes these things so complicated."
"Deku?" you called, looking a bit uncomfortable, standing alone with the deactivated drone.
"I-" he shook his head. "We'll talk about this later." He pointed to the controller. "And give that thing back to Hatsume."
Yagi nodded but grabbed Izuku's shoulder as he turned to leave. "I'm sorry for the trouble I caused, but you have a chance here my boy, don't squander it."
Izuku looked at Yagi's hand and nodded. "I- I know you mean well Toshi, but I'm grown up now." When Yagi's face fell with a defeated nod, the young hero waved his hands. "But I'm grateful you care so much. Thank you, I can handle it from here."
A small smile made its way onto his face. "I know you do my boy. Go get her."
With a nod, Izuku jogged back over to you, checking you over. Yagi watched the two of you for a moment before blending back into the trees. It seemed the two of you needed privacy.
"Well this has been a weird day," you said when Izuku came back. "Does this happen often for you?"
"This was definitely a first," he admitted. "I'm sorry about that."
"It's alright. You'd never let anything bad happen." you shrugged. "It'll make for an interesting story though. Um, why was All Might hiding in the bushes with a drone?"
"He has too much free time on his hands nowadays." The pro hero muttered, glancing back to the tree line. "Um, so about that ticket, it's actually for next week. I was just thinking, I have one too, so if, uh, if you were interested, we could go together."
"Well I sure can't waste this ticket, after all we went through for it," you grinned. "That sounds fun."
A huge wave of relief washed over him at your acceptance. "Great," he sighed with a  smile. "You know, in case some other crazy defective device comes along, I can walk you to your car if you'd like?"
"Wow, a hero and a gentleman." you looped your arm through his. "I'd like that very much.”
It took all of Izuku's training and willpower to stay calm as you leaned into him, getting comfortable for the long walk back. Neither of you noticed a pair of dark blue eyes on you as you left the clearing, excitably holding onto the defective drone because despite the setbacks, his plan had actually worked.

You’d never been to a meet and greet before but it seemed like the perfect opportunity to meet up with Reese. The two of you met a year and a half ago on a Discord server for PC builds and eventually waded through the awkward blank cursors to real conversations. Little updates on new additions to your machines, memes about coding, and the occasional gaming session. He became a stalwart in your mostly solitary existence between work and your empty private life.
It wasn’t that you didn’t trust Reese but you felt safer meeting a stranger from the internet in a public setting. Plus, it was his suggestion. His roommate fell through on attending the event with him and you eagerly accepted the unclaimed ticket. Of course, Reese insisted it was his treat but you made him promise to let you pay for lunch.
Even more exciting, you were going to meet the new Captain America. THE CAPTAIN AMERICA. You wanted to squee but had to play it cool as you waited with Reese in the winding queue.
As exclusive as the meet and greet was, it was stiflingly crowded, even more strenuous as you and Reese tried to adjust your rapport to a face-to-face environment. You mostly ended up chuckling and struggling for some cogent thought.
“What’s in the bag?” Reese asked, finally cracking through the stunted small talk.
“Oh, oh my god, I almost forgot,” you carefully lifted the bag and opened the top to let him peek inside, “I made this last year during lockdown. It’s silly but it was fun.”
He poked his finger around the opening of your drawstring knapsack and his brows rose in surprise. The drone had taken you most of your spare time but you hadn’t yet had a chance to do more than hover it around your bedroom. It was an exact replica, or exact as you could get, of the former Falcon’s Redwing.
“Holy shit! You never mentioned it,” he said.
“Oh, well, I guess… I never thought to. I just spent about an hour or so whenever I could, getting it together. Most of the time was spent on programming,” you closed your bag and let hit hang from your elbow, “and that’s another checkbox on the nerd list.”
“Please, look who you're talking to,” he joked with a snort.
You smiled at him sheepishly and looked ahead of the bodies in front of you as the line shifted forward. He wasn’t exactly disappointing, if anything, he was exactly what you expected. Skinny with black-framed glasses and a bright tee with the Captain’s shield emblazoned across his chest. He wasn’t bad-looking and thankfully not an incel.
“So, uh, you gonna give it to him or something?” Reese asked.
“What-- uh, no, I was hoping he’d sign it actually,” you chewed your lip anxiously, “if I don’t spaz out and just walk away.”
“Right,” he scoffed, “the last time I went to one of these I almost passed out.”
“Oh? Who was it?” you wondered aloud.
“Tony Stark. But I was still in high school,” he explained, “everything else sells out before I get to it. These I got by luck. If David hadn’t swiped them, we’d be standing outside wishing we were in here.”
“I can’t believe he passed on the ticket,” you uttered.
“I’m happy he did,” Reese said, “it made it easier to convince you to meet.”
“Well… we didn’t have to--”
“I’m teasing. Sorry. I’m not very… experienced at this,” he fidgeted.
“It’s fine,” you shrugged as you moved with the line, “I’m just nervous about meeting Captain America, you know? You’re not as intimidating… but I like that.”
“Uh, thanks,” he laughed as you got closer to the table and fidgeted with the straps of your bag. You were almost there.
You stepped up when the people ahead of you cleared away and you couldn’t help but stare at Bucky Barnes’ metal hand as he signed Reese’s special edition Blip magazine. He cleared his throat and you looked the Winter Soldier in the face.
“Oh, sorry,” you slid the poster you got from the shop on the way in onto the table and he unrolled it and signed. You tried really hard not to focus on his hand, you were so curious as to how it all worked. “Thank you.”
He smiled through tight lips and said, “your welcome” before you sidled down to Sam Wilson as you rolled up your poster.
“Don’t worry about him,” Sam said, “he hates these things. I can’t take him anywhere.”
His laughter received a sharp look from the super soldier. Sam took Reese’s magazine and asked his name. You were too lost in thought to answer when he asked for yours. You coughed and sputtered as you tried to remember and Reese answered for you, adding that you were nervous.
“I, uh, oh,” you lifted your bag, “I was hoping, maybe, you might sign this instead,” you handed the poster to Reese and reached into your knapsack, “if you don’t mind?”
You carefully placed the drone on the table and his brows shot up in surprise. He lifted it just as you let it go and admired it as he leaned back, “you make this?”
“Yeah,” you answered shyly, “doesn’t have all the cool features like yours but it flies.”
“That’s awesome,” he put it back down and uncapped his marker, “where do you want me to sign?”
“Just on the top is fine,” you pointed, “thank you so much.”
“My pleasure,” he put his signature after spelling out your name and he grabbed the drone again, “hey, Buck, look at this? I don’t see any fancy arms that need signing.”
“Shut up,” Bucky grumbled and eyed the drone, “pretty cool, though.”
“Thanks, uh, well, we should get out of the way,” you said.
He handed you the drone and smiled. You began to shuffle away and he called you back to the table, “you code? Do a lot of programming?”
“Mostly just corporate sites,” you answered.
“Here,” he reached into his pocket, “send me a text. I think I know some people who’d like to meet you.”
“What?” you took the card rigidly.
“Sure, we’re always looking for techs,” he said, “and if we can’t find a spot for you, maybe you can see the real Redwing. I’ll make sure of it.”
“Wow, thank you, you… don’t have to do… that,” you stuttered.
“I’d be stupid not to,” he waved off your protests, “you go have fun, you two.”
You backed away and turned to walk away with Reese as you shoved your drone back in your bag with the card, numb with disbelief.
“Wow, I can’t believe…” you trailed off as you mind wandered.
“Me either,” Reese said oddly, “that’s… wild.”
You looked at him and smiled. He didn’t look mad, only serious. You tightened the neck of the knapsack and slung it over your shoulders.
“So what are we doing for lunch?” you asked.
🌠
In the two weeks since you attended the meet and greet, you and Reese kept up mostly online, many arrangements interrupted by your real life responsibilities. It wasn’t until you offered for him to come with you to the SWORD labs that he had any free time for you. After a stressful text exchange with Captain America, you were too anxious to go alone and he was more than welcoming when you asked to bring a friend.
You stood on the subway as Reese sat and played his Switch. He was jittery as you kept your own nerves hidden just beneath the surface. You found it easier to stay standing as you felt as if you might combust if you sat.
“This is so awesome,” he said as he zipped his Switch up in its case, “thanks for inviting me.”
“I figured I owed you since you got the tickets for the meet and greet,” you said, “and it’s been a while.”
“Sorry about that, work’s been nuts,” he stood as you approached your stop and held onto the pole above your hand, “I kinda skipped out on half a day for this.”
“No,” you frowned, “you didn’t have to--”
“And miss a chance to see the real Redwing? Come on,” he scoffed.
“Oh,” you hung your head, “yeah, I guess that’s worth it.”
“I didn’t mean-- I’m happy to see you too, it’s just kinda a big deal,” he said as you approached the door with the few other passengers readying to hop off.
“No, I get it,” you hooked your thumbs under the straps of your knapsack as the doors slid open and you stepped out onto the platform, “I just… I couldn’t go alone. It’s so… scary.”
“Scary? Jeez, Captain America invited you to a job interview!”
“No, that’s not--”
“Uh, yeah, that’s exactly what it is but I promise, I won’t get in the way,” he said as you head for the concrete stairs, “maybe if he needs an extra coder I might piggy back.”
“Uh huh,” you came up onto the New York sidewalk and came into view of the immense SWORD building, “well, I don’t think it’s all that.”
“So why’d you bring this?” he tapped your bag as you neared the large glass doors and men in suits with coiled wires at their ears squared their shoulders.
“He asked me to,” you said as you were approached by one of the big security guards.
“This isn’t public entry,” he said sternly, “no tours.”
“I have an appointment or… I’m expected,” you pulled out your phone and pulled up the electronic pass Sam sent you, “see?”
“Hmm,” he eyed it and took your phone without asking. Another guard came and scanned it with his phone, “checks out but we’re gonna called down Mr. Wilson and get confirmation.”
“Oh, okay,” you fidgeted as he made no move to return your phone. Reese seemed to shrink as the two men spoke into their headset and nodded at each other.
“Hey,” the glass door burst open as Sam appeared and strode towards you, “hey, sorry, these guys are such buzzkills,” he approached and patted one of the men on the shoulder, “they’re with me.” He assured and waved you after him.
“Um, my phone,” you said to the taller man with the buzzed head. He tilted his head wryly and held out your cell between two fingers. You took it and followed Sam to the doors.
“Anyway, we were just going over some basic maintenance today and I thought you might like to observe. See everything that goes into keeping me and my toys in the air,” he smiled as he held the door and nodded at Reese, “nice to see you again, man.”
“You too, Cap...tain,” Reese answered dumbly.
“Sam is fine,” he chuckled back and tailed the two of you across the lobby as he pointed you towards the elevators. He made Reese look even more like a stick bug. “You bring it?”
“Yeah, it’s in my bag,” you stopped yourself from popping your knuckles out of nervousness, “thank you so much for this. I usually work in cubicles so… uh, yeah… I don’t know what I mean.”
“Hey, don’t be nervous, you built that thing all by yourself? I’m sure you’ll fit right in,” he said.
You got off the elevator and had to hold in a gasp at the shining laboratories as the hi-tech equipment gleamed through the glass walls. Sam led you down the curved staircase onto the lab floors as techs and assistants in both lab coats and starched suits milled around the tables along the edge of the room.
“Hey, Greta,” he called out as he showed you to a metal table, “get a look at this.” A woman with twisted red hair approached as Sam tapped his fingers on the table, “show her,” he urged you.
You swung your bag around and took out the little red and silver drone. You placed it in the middle of the table and the woman, Greta, tilted her head curiously.
“You said you can make this thing fly, right?” Sam asked as Reese watched from the other side of the table.
“Um, yep,” you unlocked your phone and brought up the beta app you designed, “just…”
The drone rose slowly and steadied before you as it hovered over the metal. Greta lifted a dark brow and ran a nail along her chin thoughtfully, “cute.”
“Ah, come on, tell me that isn’t awesome? She did it all by herself,” Sam boasted, “so, what do you think? She’d be a great tech, huh?”
“Tech? I…” you blinked and giggled, that was absurd.
“Does she have a resume? A list of her credentials, at least,” Greta rebuffed.
“Greta,” Sam warned playfully, “I’m her credentials. I’m giving her a reference right now. Hire her.”
“What?” you mumbled under your breath and you saw Reese’s eye cling to Sam darkly, almost enviously.
“You know, if I hadn’t let that kid go for hi-jacking the alpha, I’d tell you to go back to breaking your toys,” she warned, “but I trust you and… I cannot say I’m not impressed,” she narrowed her sights at the floating drone, “how long did this take you?”
“A year or so,” you answered, “it was… just meant to be a hobby but--”
“Well, make it your life,” she said tersely, “Wilson, you deal with HR, Sheila likes you better.”
“Leave it all to me,” he grinned and she walked away.
“Here,” he turned back to you, “I’ll show you the operating system for the real deal.”
He ushered you and Reese over to a computer after you lowered your drone. The real Redwing sat on a module next to the screen and Sam punched the keys and took a hooked earpiece from a small stand, “put this on.”
You slipped the earpiece on as he revealed a bracelet and adjusted it on your wrist, a small ring looping up your index finger.
“Bend your finger,” he said and you did it, “lift it up, back… like that.” Redwing rose and you watched in amazement, “tilt your head…” the drone aimed in the same direction as your head, “now back,” it flew higher, “just like that. You’re getting it.”
You steered the drone in a circle and Sam helped you maneuver it back down. He let you hand the controls over to Reese who had more fun with it and nearly took out one of the workers. He apologised and Sam just chuckled, though it didn’t sound so amused.
When Redwing was back in its place, Sam took you all around the room to show you every gadget; his wings, his suit, all his little weapons, and even pulled up some Wakandan schematics of Bucky’s arm. Much of it wasn’t in English however and you could only decipher what was visually laid out.
He left you there for a moment as he excused himself to chat with a tech about his wings. Reese huffed and leaned against the wall. You were quiet, mostly stunned, though your usual reticence could also be blamed.
“I don’t think you should’ve brought me,” he said, “I told you it was a job interview.”
“I didn’t know, I thought you would enjoy it,” you felt awful as Reese had given up trying to hide his jealousy.
“Yeah, yeah,” he said, “well, it is pretty cool but…”
He was interrupted as Sam returned, “sorry about that, guys, I kinda messed up one of the engines on the wings on my last mission.”
You smiled and said it was fine. You hadn’t expected so much attention and thought it would be a brief little show and tell, not an entire tour. You returned to the table where you left your drone and shut down the app. You packed up your Redwing, it felt lighter but you were sure you were just imagining things as your head spun. You looked down at the bold signature across the shell and knotted the drawstring above its nose.
“Sorry, I…” you took your bag from the table, “I hate to bother but is there a bathroom I can use.”
“Oh yeah, just head back up the stairs, left of the elevators,” Sam pointed above, “we’ll wait here, there’s one last thing I wanna show you.”
“Okay, I’ll be right back,” you headed for the stairs and latched onto the railing before you could trip upwards.
You bumbled up the stairs and after a brief moment of blankness, you found your way to the bathroom. You quickly slipped into the stall and spent a minute at the mirror after washing your hands to get your head straight. It felt like a dream, or worse, a joke.
You headed back out and Sam was waiting just by the elevators to your surprise. You pursed your lips and glanced around, “where’s Reese?”
“Oh, yeah, uh, he left,” he said as he shoved his hand in his pocket, “said he wasn’t feeling it.”
“Really?” you shrunk, just a little, “erm… that’s too bad.”
“Yeah, kinda weird, I don’t think I’ve ever just ditched a girlfriend in the middle of the city,” he said.
“Girlfriend? Well… it’s… it’s early,” you rubbed the back of your neck, “I hope he’s okay.”
“Damn, I hope he didn’t ruin it, I still wanted to show you the shield,” he intoned, “but if you’re not feeling up to it--”
“No, no, I’m here, that would be awesome,” you forced a smile.
Had you done something wrong? Was it rude to invite Reese and have all this rubbed in his face? You thought he’d feel worse if you didn’t invite him. Your doubts flurried in your head as you stepped onto the elevator with Sam, chewing your cheek as you tried not to show your disappointment.
You were brought back to the present as the metal doors opened and Sam nudged you as you stared right through the open space. You stepped out ahead of him and he caught up and walked beside you as he explained what was hidden in every room; mostly offices and training gyms.
He unlocked a door at the far curve of the circular hallway and jiggled until it opened. He pushed it open and the lights flicked on automatically.
“Bucky,” he grumbled, “he almost took the handle right off… so now I gotta fight it.”
“Oh,” you entered as he beckoned you inside and you looked around the spacious office.
“You know, there’s lots of paperwork when you take out a whole bridge, even if it is an accident,” he laughed, “and it gives me a place to show this off.”
He went to the wall where the shield was held on small metal hooks and slid it out easily. The vibranium sung in the air as he turned to you and held it out.
“You wanna?” he asked.
“Sure…” you murmured as he turned it around and held it so you could hook your arm through the straps. He let it go and stood back to look you over.
“It suits you,” he said, “got your own Redwing and you hold that like a real champ. Maybe it’s time I step aside.”
You laughed nervously and shook your head. You peeked down at the metal and lifted and angled around as you admired the smooth curve.
“Thanks,” you offered it back to him and he took it with one hand, “for everything.”
“You’re taking the job, right?” he prodded, “it’s perfect.”
“Mmm, well, I got a job--”
“Better than here? Better than suiting up the Cap?” he chided.
You bent your ankle under you and swayed on your feet. It was a great opportunity and way better than your desk job. It just felt like you didn’t deserve it.
“I need an answer. Greta doesn’t like indecision,” he said.
“O-okay, okay,” you surrendered, “I… if I said no, I’d feel even worse.”
“You won’t regret it, promise,” he said, “if you do, Redwing is yours. The real one.”
“No, no, I’m…” you rocked as you gripped the straps of your knapsack, “I’m sure I won’t.”
🌠
Your two weeks notice rolled by. Your boss was less than pleased by the sudden departure but you didn’t care much as you wouldn’t have to deal with him for much longer. You wrapped up your last day with your replacement and left feeling free, though the anxiety of your job loomed on the other side of the weekend.
In those weeks since your visit to the SWORD facility, you hadn’t heard much from Reese. That night when you messaged him to make sure he was okay, he didn’t say much more than ‘just tired’. After that, he was always offline when you signed onto the server and all your co-op requests were declined. You were ready to give up.
Oh well, it was an online thing anyway, you were stupid to think it could work out.
But you were not entirely isolated. To your surprise, you got several messages from Sam, you still couldn’t help but think of him as Captain America and feel like you had nothing interesting to say to a hero. When he found out you liked to game, he even joined you for a session on headset but again, you were hyper focused and quiet. You were flattered that he was trying to make you feel welcome, that he even bothered to get you a job, but it all felt so above you.
When you got home that night, you logged in and sent a request to Reese, just one last attempt. He didn’t even respond, even after fifteen minutes of waiting. You shut down your PC and grabbed your switch instead. You changed as the system updated your Animal Crossing and flopped onto your bed.
You laid across the mattress, one leg over the edge and the other bent. You ran through, planting, fishing, and selling as you tried not to think too much. You’d done enough of that lately. You zoned out as your eyes narrowed at the small screen but in your peripheral, you felt a shadow move. You shrugged it off as the sunlight playing through the curtains and rolled onto your side to ignore it.
You kept on, ready to log out as you didn’t want to spend another Nook Ticket to go to and island and get nothing but flowers. You heard a subtle whirring and glanced over at your computer. It was sleeping and it was never that loud. You noticed that light shift again and turned. There was nothing. Nothing but your dresser and the signed drone, just as you left it.
You squinted and turned off your Switch. You went out to the front room to drop it back in the dock. You stretched and grabbed your phone from your purse to put in an order for some take-out. You stopped as you noticed Sam’s unanswered messages.
‘Whatcha doin’ tonite?’ and several that assumed you must be busy.
‘Sorry, got caught up gaming,’ you replied guiltily.
Your phone shook before you could close out of the chat and you answered as Sam’s name flashed across the top.
“Hello?” you squeaked.
“Hey, hope I’m not buggin’ you but I thought-- stop, Jesus Christ, sorry, we’re on our way to dinner and we hoped you might join us.”
“We?” you echoed.
“Oh, ha, yeah me and Bucky, Greta, and some of the techs. Not too many of us but you’re more than welcome,” he said, “since you start on Monday, it will be good to get to know some people.”
“Y-yeah, for sure,” you answered. It felt more an obligation than an invite. You didn’t want to come across snobbish or lazy even if you’d rather eat fried noodles and watch some trash reality TV.
“Great! I’ll send you the address,” he growled and hissed under his breath, “sorry, again, I’m just dealing with this-- I’ll see you there. Save ya a seat.”
He hung up abruptly and you stood dumbfounded staring at your jacket. You dropped your phone back into your purse and headed back to your room. You had to find something to wear that didn’t seem like you were trying too hard or not trying enough.
As you entered, that same whirring floated through the air and suddenly stopped. You looked around confused; not a fly, not your PC acting up, nothing. You grimaced at the poster with the star emblem across it and went to your dresser to pick out an outfit. It was probably the neighbour fucking around. Apartment living was rarely peaceful.
🌠
The restaurant was bustling as you were met by the hostess at the door. You told her you were there to join the party from SWORD. She showed you to the table and Sam saw you above the din and waved to you then shoved Bucky over on the cushioned bench.
“Right here,” he pointed as he waved you over and stepped aside to let you past. You sidled along and sat, apologizing to Bucky as he rolled his eyes, “not too late.”
You gave your drink order as a waiter came by and shrugged out of your jacket, letting it bunch up around your back. Sam offered his menu and introduced the people you didn’t know at the table; alongside Bucky and Greta, were Xan and Wyatt. You said hello and opted for the fiesta salad as you set aside the menu.
“Are you excited?” Sam asked.
“For what?” Bucky huffed, “she’s gotta put up with you.”
“Hey,” Sam took the lemon off the rim of his glass and tossed it at Bucky, “he lightens up… sometimes.”
“Yeah, yeah,” Bucky grumbled but you could hear the humour in his voice.
You sank into the background as the night went on. You spoke up when you were called on but felt it hard to assert yourself, especially with someone as outspoken as Sam beside you. Still, he made sure to make you feel included when you started to feel forgotten. For that you were grateful and he was right, it made you feel a little less anxious about your first day.
As you came out onto the sidewalk, your wallet painfully lighter, you bid goodbye to everyone but Sam hung around. You clutched your purse and peered down the street.
“Thanks for inviting me,” you said.
“Ah, you know what, I shoulda asked that guy, Reese? How’s it going with him? He your boyfriend yet?”
“Ha, no,” you sucked in your lip and took a deep breath, “I don’t even think we’re friends anymore.”
“Oh no, what happened?” he asked.
“I dunno,” you said wistfully, “but it is what it is.”
“He’s missin’ out. You’re a cool girl,” he said, “building drones for fun. Kinda why I had to snag you, you know? Someone with your skills, that’s dangerous.”
“Dangerous?” you chortled, “no.”
“Well,” he checked his phone, “how are you getting home?”
“I’ll just take the train,” you said, “my place is only about a ten minute ride from here.”
“You sure? I can give you a ride,” he said.
“Nah, really, you’ve done… more than enough.”
“Alright, well, see you Monday?”
“Monday?” you wondered.
“I’ll pop in before I head out,” he said, “got a mission so I might not be around more than that.”
“Okay, Monday,” you confirmed, “see ya.”
🌠
Monday was a whirlwind. It started on a high as Sam suited up and showed off his wings before he headed up to the jet pad. Greta muttered that she was happy he’d be out of your way before she went through the task of getting you acquainted not only with the tech but with their workplace rituals. It was a lot to take in but you did your best to absorb every word and second.
When you got home, you had a folder full of notes and spent too long going over them before you remembered the groan in your stomach. You ate a lazy super of Kraft Dinner and lazed across your bed doing nothing but watching Youtube tutorials on your tablet. You fell asleep early and woke to your alarm and a dead tablet.
You got up, got dressed, ran out, and did it all again. The first week dragged by and yet it felt like you didn’t have enough time. On Friday, you got home and fell across the couch in your work clothes. You held your phone above you and scrolled dozily through your feed.
A dot popped up and you flicked over to your notifications. The selfie you posted on your first day at the lab with Sam in his suit had lots of hearts but your first comment was less than pleasant. Beside Reese’s icon was all caps: MUST BE EASY SLEEPING YOUR WAY INTO A JOB!
Your heart pattered and you sat up. You deleted the comment but another soon appeared; several as you kept deleting and finally blocked him. ‘Slut, whore, dumb bitch…’ it was the last thing you expected from him.
You opened Discord and clicked on his chat. ‘What’s going on? Why are you doing this?’
The text flicked across the bottom that Reese was typing but he stopped and you sat there for what felt like forever before his response popped up.
‘I can’t believe you brought me all the way there to rub my face in all that shit. And for what? You should’ve just told me I had no chance and I woulda left you alone. If you wanna fuck Sam Wilson, do it, but don’t chain me along like your little bitch boy. Get fucked slut.’
You flinched as you read it and re-read it. You typed shakily as your eyes watered. ‘I’m not fucking Sam and I wouldn’t. I brought you there because I wanted to and thought you would like it. I didn’t know you felt so strongly about it. But I see what you think of me so I only wish you the best and hope you find peace.’
You sent the message but just as quickly, you were blocked from sending any more. You tossed your phone and fell back against the couch. That must have been why he took off but you couldn’t figure out how he thought you of all people were sleeping with Sam Wilson. Really? He was just another incel after all.
You phone jangled with your annoying ringtone and you grabbed it, expecting to be insulted by Reese again but it was Sam calling. You really weren’t in the mood to talk with him. You just wanted to be left alone. But you couldn’t just ignore Captain America.
“Hello?” you answered.
“Hey, I just got back in town. Whatcha doing?” you could hear the wind in the speaker.
“Just got home. I’m exhausted. Probably gonna just nap.”
“You okay?” he asked after a moment.
“Fine,” you said dully.
“Don’t sound fine,” he said, “what’s wrong?”
“Nothing,” you insisted.
“Oh, so it’s not what that boy said on your photo?”
“You saw that?”
“You tagged me, remember?”
“Oh, yeah, no, it’s…”
“Shit, don’t listen to him. He’s just a boy, he blew his chance and he’s bitter about it,” he said, “how about I come over, make sure you’re really okay?”
“No, I don’t think--”
“Ah, come on, don’t make me worry all night about you,” he chided.
“Sam, you really--” There was a knock at the window and you froze. “Sam?”
The line clicked and you heard the tapping again. You lowered your phone and went to the window. Outside, geared up in his wings and suit, Sam hovered before the glass. You blinked and he rapped again. You snapped out of your shock and unlocked the window and slid it up.
“What are you doing?” you asked, “wait? How do you know where I live?”
He grabbed onto the frame and hooked his leg through as he retracted his wings. He bent under and sat half-in and half-out of the window, “forgive me? I did a bit of snooping in HR.”
“I told you not to come. I really don’t feel up to-- It’s really weird that you’re here,” you sat as he ducked pulled his other leg through and stood, “Sam, I think you should go.”
“You shouldn’t be alone, especially after that moron sending you that shit,” he said coolly as he took off his tinted goggles.
“Well, I want to be alone, so you should--”
“I mean, I haven’t even fucked you yet and he’s jealous,” he snickered, “so I guess we should give him a real reason.”
“What are you talking about? That’s… gross. You should go--”
“Come on, girl, you think this was really about a drone,” he tossed his goggles down and set his shield on the chair as he strode around the room, “convenience. I want you close.”
“I don’t--” you looked down at your phone, “get out, Sam.”
The tone of your finger pressing ‘9’ sounded and he spun quickly to face you. He stormed over to you before you could hit ‘1’ and ripped it from your grasp.
“You’re gonna call the cops and say what? I’m Captain America,” he snarled, “but you can just call me Cap.”
He winked and threw your phone out the window smoothly. You gasped as he chuckled and lifted his wings off his back. He leaned them against the wall and stretched out his shoulders. He looked around as he twisted his tongue between his teeth.
“I like this, looks cozy,” he toed the side of the couch with his boot, “look better with you on it.”
You watched him stroll around the coffee table as he unzipped the collar of his suit. The scene was like some tainted nightmare. Maybe you’d fallen asleep. You were so tired you must have just passed out but you weren’t waking up.
You spun around and ran into the small hallway that led to your door. You were caught from behind, pulled back by the nape of your blazer as Sam tutted. His arm went around your waist and he lifted you off your feet. He turned and carried you back into the front room. You kicked and writhed as his strength enwrapped you.
“Please, please,” you begged, “I… I don’t understand. This isn’t-- this isn’t what I wanted. I didn’t--”
“Baby girl,” he cooed as he brought you close to the couch, “be good and listen to your Captain. Now stop this.”
“No, no,” you gulped at air as the panic rose in you, “I never-- please, you don’t have to do this--”
“You gotta do what I say,” he snapped and flung you onto the couch, “I don’t want to make you.”
You looked at him as you trembled in fear and disbelief. This couldn’t be. He was Sam Wilson, the Captain America; he was a nice guy.
“You have one minute to get naked,” he said and you just gaped at him, “you gonna make me repeat myself?”
Your throat tightened as his dark eyes bore into you. His hand balled to a fist and finally you found an ounce of strength. You pushed your legs over the edge of the couch and slipped out of your blazer. You stood carefully and watched him cautiously. You had to look away as your hands quivered over the buttons of your blouse.
You turned and folded your shirt over your blazer. You could hear him behind you as you unbuttoned your pants and pushed them down your legs. The question of what you were doing flitted through your head but the fear pulsed through you and took over.
“Ah,” he sighed and you peeked back as he freed himself of the top half of his stealth suit.
You turned back and hesitated. You knew there was more, you knew what he wanted, but your body locked up as your fingers curled and your insides knotted.
“Let me get that,” he came close and his fingers tickled along your shoulder blades and he unhooked your bra, “hmmm,” he let go and the cups fell off your chest, “almost there, baby.”
He stepped back and you shuddered. You dropped your bra and hooked your fingers under your panties. You wiggled them down a little at the time and heard the intake of breath as you pulled them down entirely. You stood still, unable to move, too mortified to face him.
“Come on, baby,” he said, “get comfortable.”
You inhaled and turned slowly. You went to the couch as he shed his undershirt and added it to the pile atop his shield. He looked at you and tilted his head as he licked his bottom lip. He snarled as he took in the sight of you and pointed you to the couch.
You sat and hugged yourself as he stripped off his pants along with his boxers in a single swipe. You flicked your eyes away as you glimpsed his hard dick as he stood straight and you stared at the open window. You smushed your lips together in horror and held in the tide of tears.
He came closer and you tried to tune out the room. This couldn’t happen. It just couldn’t. You felt his hands on your knees and he urged your legs apart. You resisted for a moment then let him guide your limbs. It would be over sooner if you just let it happen.
He knelt on the floor as his hands kneaded along your thighs and framed your vee as he leaned over your lap. You winced and he kept your legs from closing as he pushed his body between them. His thumb grazed your folds and he pushed between them. You let out a hushed gasp as he swirled around your clit.
“See, it’s not so bad to be good, is it, baby?” he purred, “you’re wet already.”
He slid his thumb up and down and spread the wetness along your cunt. You were shocked and humiliated by your obvious arousal. You shouldn’t be turned on by this. Your body was not listening to your mind, it was obeying his touch.
“Mmm,” he hummed as he turned his hand and poked along your entrance with one finger.
He pushed inside and you clenched around his intrusion. He pulled in and out and added another finger. Your nails clawed at the cushion and you pressed back into the couch. He kept his thumb on your clit as he worked his fingers inside of you and the tension clustered between his fingertips.
“Oh, baby, listen to you,” he bet forward and replaced his thumb with his tongue as he kept fingering you.
You turned your face up to the ceiling and squeezed your eyes shut. You bit your lip as the ripples radiated from your core and your breath hitched. His hand moved faster as he suckled at your bud and his free hand groped your chest blindly. You slapped your hand over your mouth as you came, your back arching as you pushed into him.
He teased you through your climax and pulled away only as you quaked and whined at his unyielding touch. He drew his fingers out of you and sat back to lick them clean. You peeked down at him and quickly away as his eyes blazed back at you.
“Up,” he stood and stroked himself shamelessly as he strode around the coffee table, “put your hands on there.”
You rose unsteadily, legs shaking beneath you as your entire being felt like jelly. You went to him and turned your back to him. You bent over and he grabbed your ass and squeezed with a growl. You gripped the table and hung your head as the cool air grazed your cunt.
He shoved his hand between your legs and rubbed you again. He stepped closer and bent his knees as he lined himself up with your entrance, sliding in between his fingers as he spread you wide. You choked as his tip poked inside and he eased himself inch by inch into you. He held your hip as he reached his limit and groaned.
“Baby, oh god damn,” he thrust so that your whole body jerked. It was painfully delightful. Of the few men you’d been with, he was the biggest, or at least the thickest.
He rocked slowly and a moan escaped your lips. Despite the torturous pressure of his intrusion, you could ignore the pleasure laced in the pain. His hand brushed up your as and along your back. He bent over you as his fingers curled over your shoulder and he pressed his body to yours as he fucked you.
You kept your head down as you tried to measure your breaths and the pathetic noises rising from you. He pushed his hand down your stomach and between your legs again to play with your clit. He moved his legs against yours and forced them together so your cunt hugged him even tighter. He grunted and you whimpered as his fingers added to the new pressure.
He sped up so that the table scraped against the floor but kept you up with one arm around you. He rutted into you wildly as his sultry voice filled your chest and his heat consumed you. You cried out as another orgasm swept through you and your cunt quivered around him desperately.
He pulled you up suddenly so you stood on your toes. He tilted into you as he brought his arms up around yours and tined his fingers behind your head. His flesh slapped yours loudly and you opened your eyes as you heard a familiar whirring. The drone flew before you, the signature on its shell, but a light blinking at its nose. Yours didn’t have a light.
“What--”
“Ah, yeah,” he rasped through rampant breaths, “looks like they got mixed up.”
“Huh--” you sucked in your breath as he thrust harder and deeper.
“I didn’t mind, he helped me keep an eye on you,” he said as he nuzzled you above his hands, “you look so cute in your little tee shirts.”
You groaned and leaned your head against him as another rush of fear was met with unwanted bliss. You murmured senselessly as he picked up his pace and the drone came closer. He purred as you felt his muscles tighten.
“Don’t worry,” he puffed, “I’ll make sure the boy knows he was right.”
He buried himself in you, nearly taking you off your feet, and twitched as he emptied himself into you. He rocked his hips subtly as he rode out his climax and stilled you as his voice gristled to rampant pants. His arms fell to embrace you and he kept you flush to him as he lingered inside.
“Or I can keep that little video to myself…” he brought his hand up to cradle your chin and poked his finger along your lower lip, “it’s all up to you, baby.”

The Tiny Fox Thief
Warnings: This story contains soft, safe, vore. Scott catches Fundy trying to steal his stuff for the 100th time and decides to punish him to deter him from doing it again.
I promise I didn’t stop wanting to write these, I originally wrote this like two months ago but works been rough recently and killing my motivation and time to write, but hey at least I got this out in time for Origins to come back? I’m hoping the next one won’t take as long but I can’t make any promises. Despite the long wait I hope you enjoy!
A tiny fox man was rummaging through his things.
Again.
Scott had causally walked into his house to get some payment for Ranboo and Tubbo for a trade they were doing for his new build, and he was greeted with a familiar sight.
He opened one of his chests to grab some gold and out of the corner of his eye he spotted a tiny ball of orange fluff hiding behind a diamond that was suspiciously not with the other diamonds.
Scott rolled his eyes, he grabbed the gold he needed and safely stored it away from the greedy fox before plucking Fundy up from behind the diamond.
Said fox yelped a little at being caught and now being so close to the giant.
Scott shifted his grip so Fundy was gently held in his hands instead of dangling by the fingers. Even if he was a little thief Scott didn't want to hurt his friend.
Scott raised an eyebrow at him." This is the fifth time this month Fundy, don't you ever get tired of gong through people's things?" He questioned flatly.
Fundy gave Scott a sheepish look." Uh, heyyy, Scott...I uhh, don't know what you're talking about, I was just looking at your pretty gems, they're uhh, very shiny from down here, you know?" His eyes darted around, trying not to make eye contact with the agitated giant.
Scott didn't seem convinced.
"You know, you'd have your own shiny diamonds to look at if you went and got them yourself instead of stealing from other people." He deadpanned.
"Pshh, what's the fun in that?" A look of fear crossed his face as he realized his mistake." Uhh, not that I was stealing, cause, uh, heh I was totally not doing that, I promise haha." His ears flattened against the back of his head as he grinned nervously.
" What am I gonna do with you? You know I could blow you to smithereens right?" Scott shook his head. He was obviously joking, but a little intimidation never hurt anybody.
"Ahah, but you'd never do that right?" In the back of his mind he knew Scott wouldn't do that, but Fundy did shrink a little further into Scott's hand nonetheless.
"Hmm, maybe I should, teach you a lesson to quit stealin' from everyone." Scott threatened.
At first it was an empty threat, but a small rumble from his stomach gave him a different idea.
It wasn't uncommon for someone to go missing for a little while due to being tucked away in a persons belly. Most of the giants in this server had the ability to protect their prey and keep them safe for as long as they wanted, and for the ones who didn't have those powers there were potions that could easily help keep prey safe as well.
That's why Fundy knew as soon as he heard that growl, with the look that crossed Scott's face, that it was time to bolt. He immediately panicked and started trying to squirm out of the hand he was trapped in.
"I think I know a good place I can put you for tonight, maybe it'll teach you a lesson." Scott himself had never eaten anyone before, but he knew he had a control over his own digestive system, so he wouldn't actually hurt Fundy.
"P-please, Scott! I-I promise I won't steal again, I've changed, I've mended my ways and all that!" He stuttered frantically.
Now, Fundy has spent a fair few nights in the belly of one of his friends, especially after he'd been caught stealing from them, but just because he knew it was safe didn't mean he liked it. It was just so humiliating.
And I mean do you know how long it takes to get saliva out of fur?
In a stroke of luck, Fundy managed to squirm out of Scott's grip and he leapt off of Scott's hand onto the floor.
Fundy was speedier than the average tiny, fast enough to almost make it to the little hole the tinies used to get into Scott's house.
Key word there is almost.
Right as he got to the entrance, as the scent of the outside hit his muzzle...he was swept right back up into Scott's hands.
He whined as Scott's grinning face looked down at him." So close, yet so far Fundy." He petted Fundy's head with his thumb." I promise it's just for tonight, it'll be a good nights sleep and I'll let you out in the morning." Scott tried to reassure.
It was quite warm inside, it was soft and it was easy to fall asleep knowing he was safe.
Fundy huffed. That didn't mean he liked it! It was slimy and gross, it was so loud, and being eaten was so just embarrassing, and don't even get started on the trip down! No, he most certainly did not want to get eaten.
Scott kept a firm grip on him as he lifted Fundy above his head. Fundy yelped as Scott opened his mouth and unceremoniously dropped him in.
To Fundy this was a familiar hell. To Scott this was an unfamiliar heaven.
He hummed as he felt squirming around. Fundy battered his tiny paws at his teeth, trying to get him to open his mouth.
Scott didn't relent and instead started licking the little fox. He had a very salty taste that made his mouth water.
After Scott figured Fundy had been covered in enough saliva, he tilted his head back so Fundy knew what was coming. It was strange to feel Fundy physically tense, and after a couple seconds he swallowed him down.
Fundy yelped as he was shoved into the dark tunnel.
This was always his least favorite part. Not that he liked any of it, mind you. But this always left him dizzy and disoriented and feeling a bit sick.
He squirmed at the painful crushing that slowly pulled him down. He could tell Scott had never eaten someone before, it was much more painful than usual.
After a few more swallows his feet were pressed against something, he whined as he was squeezed through something much tighter and then unceremoniously dropped into a shallow pool of liquid.
Tired as the decent down left him, Fundy didn't hesitate to scramble up and start battering at the walls. He didn't want to actually hurt Scott, but he was still upset, it was so disgusting and humiliating. Why did they always do this to him?
Scott stumbled a bit, leaning against the chest at the unexpected assault on his stomach.
He didn't expect to be able to feel everything so strongly, and it felt kinda nice, despite the attack inside.
He hummed, pressing a hand to his stomach." You doing alright in there Fundy?" He inquired. He wanted to make sure he wasn't gonna actually hurt him.
"No, Scott, you just ate me!" He growled, trying to jump and climb up the slick walls to no avail." Please let me out, it's really gross in here!" He whined.
Scott chuckled, rubbing circles on his belly." Well I didn't exactly swallow you for your enjoyment, this is meant to be a punishment after all." He lowered his voice, tone more serious." Are you actually ok in there? I'm not hurting you, right?"
"...If I said yes would you let me out?"
"Fundy."
"Ok, ok, yeah I'm not dying or whatever." Fundy huffed, slumping against the wall with his arms over his chest.
"It's just for the night Fundy, I promise I'll let you out in the morning." He reassured.
Fundy remained grumpily silent, until Scott heard the thumping of footsteps and a figure appeared in the doorway.
"Scott?" Inquired the dark, imposing figure of Ranboo. The poor ender hybrid had to duck to see into the door.
Caught up in catching Fundy, Scott had forgotten his original goal when coming in here.
"Oh, I'm sorry Ranboo, I was trying to grab the gold for you guys and found a certain someone rummaging through my things again, so I had to deal with that." He quickly explained, sliding off the chest.
At the mention of Ranboo, Fundy scrambled up trying to claw at the walls again." Ranboo! Help me! I don't want to stay in here please!" He cried.
Unfortunately for Fundy, Ranboo couldn't hear him from the inside, but from the slight glance to Scott's belly he seemed to be able to figure out what happened.
Regardless of whether he knew or not Ranboo only lightly chuckled." You'd think he'd get tired of stealing one day." He stepped into the house, shaking his head." Well, do you have our stuff?"
Scott did a little "Oh yeah!" jump before turning around to dig in his chests. Fundy was still fiercely trying to get Ranboo's attention, which Scott blithely ignored.
After a couple seconds Ranboo was in the possession of 3 stacks of Redstone, a couple gold blocks, and some obsidian, and Scott now owned several stacks of concrete that he couldn't be bothered to harvest himself for a new build he was working on.
After saying their goodbye's Ranboo wandered off to...wherever he and Tubbo wandered off to, and Scott was left alone with Fundy, who was now grumpily sulking against the stomach wall.
After shifting his spades of concrete into his chests Scott retired to his room, flopping backwards onto his bed, trying not to jostle Fundy around too much.
He curled up around his middle, wrapping his arms around his stomach and allowing himself to revel in the sensation of Fundy being in there. Fundy wasn't moving much anymore but Scott could feel his weight, like a warm stone sat in the center of his belly. If he concentrated enough he could even feel the fox's soft breathing.
As much as Scott wanted to punish Fundy he did still feel bad for trapping him all night." You gonna be alright in there?" He softly asked.
Fundy huffed tiredly. It wasn't...that bad. It could actually be quite calming if he had wanted this to happen. It was much warmer than his cave and softer than the bed he slept on. The deep sounds of Scott's lungs and organs working around him did much better to soothe him than the dead silence he slept in at home. It wasn't really that bad in here if you ignored the disgusting amounts of slime...it's just that he hated feeling like food. And he knew nobody on the server felt like that towards him, but it didn't stop his brain from thinking about it that way.
He curled up tighter in a ball." I don't like being food for you guys." He mumbled, Scott could barely even hear the fox.
Scott pressed a hand to his belly, surprised at the sudden vulnerability. He didn't know Fundy felt that way about being eaten. Scott had assumed it was a fun game to him like it was everyone else." Fundy...none of us think like that about you, any of you, we like to have fun and mess with you guys but I-none of us- would ever think of you as food." He reassured. He'd never taken much consideration into how tinies really felt about being eaten, since people like Tubbo, Tommy, and Niki seemed to enjoy it (most of the time) and with the knowledge that it was safe, he didn't consider how negative it could be for some tinies.
He rubbed circles into his belly, feeling regretful." Do you actually want me to let you out? I don't want you to be in there if it upsets you."
Fundy sighed, licking at the few stray salty tears on his face."...No, there's no point when I'm already in here. And it isn't...that bad, I just...hate being reminded of where I am."
Scott chuckled lightly." Just think of it like a really weird waterbed, except with more slime." He offered.
Fundy snorted. It was like a waterbed of sorts, except it felt more like you were inside it than on top of it.
He laid his head down on his arms, closing his eyes. He didn't fall asleep immediately, but Scott's words soothed his nerves enough to where he found the stomach much less distressing than it had previously been. With Scott gently rubbing him and the sound of his heartbeat filling his ears and drowning out his thoughts, Fundy drifted to sleep.
Scott wasn't tired just yet. Being a Starborne, he much preferred being out at night and as such he was mostly nocturnal. He didn't mind staying awake anyway. He didn't know the next time he would be able to do something like this and wanted to enjoy himself as much as possible.
For now, Scott was content to just settle down and comfort Fundy. He'd had a rough couple hours thanks to him so he wanted to make him feel better as much as possible. He hadn't eaten tonight, but Fundy filled his belly enough where he didn't need to, a nice comfortable weight to keep the hunger at bay. He softly rubbed circles into his belly around Fundy, who seemed to slowly be drifting off. He was happy to lay like that for another few hours, enjoying the feeling of Fundy inside, as close and safe to him as a friend could be.

Ooo hope you are drinking yummy things!! (I'm having a margarita rn haha)
Maybe Person A is the boss pretending to be an intern with Person B, but B is suspicious about how A has clearence to EVERYTHING in the building??
Maribat, characters of your choice?
Okay. My drink took a couple modification to get the mix right but now it's pretty great. Do here we have Roynette.
I spy Roynette
Enjoy.
Marinette was an intern, so she could get pretty much anywhere in the building but she would always have to stop for clearance at certain levels and her badge would be activated if she took much longer than then expected time on certain floors. Roy was also an intern and sometimes he just seemed to be around constantly. It didn’t seem odd at first. She definitely didn’t know all the interns at Queen Consolidated. There were far too many spread all over the building for her to have met them all. Usually the interns would mostly stick to one department but a few, like herself, were floaters. She wasn’t yet sure if that was a good thing because she knew so much about various things, or a bad thing because they had accepted her as an intern and they did not know what to do with her but had no reason to fire her.
But after a few weeks, she started to be suspicious of Roy. At first she thought he was just flirting with her. Now she knew he was, but also she thought he might be a corporate spy. He kept getting into places he should not have access to. Even the executive suites. Marinette was setting up a meeting room for a possible buyout of another company but there he was. He had tried to duck out of sight before she saw him but she saw the flash of movement. She only knew it had been him because she had seen his ridiculous red hoodie that he somehow got away with wearing while she was stuck in business wear and heels.
She didn’t know who to talk to. The only people around appeared very busy and they all seemed perfectly okay with him there. But she realized he had gone into the server room so she peaked in to see what he was up to. He was plugging in a laptop. She had no phone or ability to collect evidence. That was not allowed for someone of her rank, especially on the executive floor. She knew her badge would activate an alarm at any moment so she had to think fast. He definitely wasn't allowed a laptop in there
Suddenly, she realized that was the solution. If she shut the door it would lock down automatically. That would bring security. On top of that when her intern badge activated even more security would show up. She took a breath to calm herself and try to convince herself that he wasn’t as good looking and smooth as she remembered. It was all lies, but she really needed this internship to go well. Corporate espionage could do major damage to a company even if the spy made her knees weak. She rushed into the room and shut the door behind her.
“Marinette, Hey,” Roy said. He didn’t look worried. He looked happy to see her. “That door isn’t supposed to be locked, but I kinda like the idea.”
“Do not be suave with me,” she said, forcing determination into her voice. “I know what you are up to.”
“What am I--”
Roy was cut off as her badge flashed and a speaker by the door started beeping. Roy stepped close to her and looked around. When security burst in seconds later, he pushed her behind him. The security team looked around and then Roy commanded them to stand down just before Marinette saw Felicity Smoak enter. She was part of the reason Marinette had wanted to work here. Marinette shoved Roy aside and addressed the woman.
“This isn’t right. He is a spy and they are working with him.”
The room was still for a moment after Marinette pointed to Roy and then his accomplices on the security team. Marinette felt a sinking feeling as she was led to a smaller meeting room. She hadn’t thought that Ms Smoak would have been involved. Now she had lost her shot and would probably be dismissed because of it. She wasn’t waiting long when Roy entered and handed her an iced coffee made just the way she liked. Ms Smoak and Mr Queen entered right after. She knew this must be serious because they were supposed to be in a meeting very soon.
They all sat and Ms Smoak pulled out a file that she could easily see was her own. But she didn’t expect what the woman said next.
“We would like to offer you a permanent position effective immediately. The employment offer and package will need to be agreed upon but all changes will be effective starting with your day today.”
“What?” Marinette asked.
She looked at each of them smiling at her. They let her brain catch up before they explained that Roy was a partial owner and not an intern. As such he had access to the entire building and had just been trying to find a place to work where he wouldn’t be bothered for a bit. But they were impressed with Marinette’s attention to detail and her quick thinking response. They told her in the future they would provide other options than to lock herself in a room with someone who would likely harm her in desperation.
Marinette was still reeling when the meeting was over. She would be coming in next week to have a meeting about possible benefits and pay. She was stunned. She hardly noticed Roy leading her out after. She gathered her things and he walked along with her until she finally seemed to come out of her fog. He suggested she would feel better if she had something to eat so he offered to take her. She agreed but she was suddenly more nervous than she had been all day.

If you could cross over two of your favorite games, which would you choose? Please explain, why that crossover would be a good match.
Oh you’re going to regret asking this one, I’m bout to GET SERIOUS.
So Pokemon, obvs, I love the whole world it’s built in, but the games imo are REALLY boring, I haven’t enjoyed one a lot since gale of darkness, the main ones just are a little too linear obvious plots, pretty standard setups for story and style. Speaking of style, the games lack personality, the models aren’t animated well, moves have no dynamic energy or visual difference at times, and the turn based battle style just feels kind of, I don’t know, old? Slow? Just doesn’t suit what I enjoy personally, gives me a FInal Fantasy vibe and I just cannot stand the speed at which things happen in those games, plus not into 3rd person ‘let’s build a team of people’ much, but that’s a problem for another time. With this all in mind, the game I wish would happen is like gen20 Pokemon, far future sadly, I doubt I’d see it in my lifetime but god I’d be happy if I did!
Ok so take the newest Zelda graphics, the visual treat that was BOTW, open world, puzzles, not JUST combat, you got side missions, hunt the chickens, find missing pets, parcels, items, whatever. Love it! The horse taming?! Amazing you funky little game. Now take the bad guys and beasts from that. And put Pokemon in instead. Give them the diversity, the life and believable natures that BOTW gave the animals, I followed a frog in BOTW for 15 minutes, and it was a great experience, it felt like it was believable. Above world spawning, ACTUAL difficult gameplay, rare spawn rates, make dragons hard to get again, cmon, it’s too easy now, make it so we need a certain set of Pokemon for certain tasks. Water types big enough to carry you will be able to get you to new areas, rock types that can help you climb mountains faster, or break through blocking boulders. Actual towns with more than 4 houses in them, shops, barns, farms, homes. Like little link with the heat, maybe ice types would struggle in volcano areas, or bug Pokemon not be so comfortable in gale force winds. Give the weather more of an effect on your partners. Mounts, don’t even get me started that Pokemon Let’s go had you able to ride any of the larger species, but swsh did not???? Bitch please, give me my rideable Pokemon. The wild area too was far too closed, limited, online was laggy and a mess, camping is limited, let me do more with my team. Pokemon for me is all about the actual creatures, how they live with humans, and the many wonderful things they’re capable of. Yes of course it’s cool they can fight, but like what else you know?
I’d love a game that lets me buy a plot of land, maybe plant things, custom build things. I’m a sucker for the fallout4 settlement builds when they’re modded to hell and back, they’re fun! It can be a really calm and creative process. If I could do that and skip the main campaign and all the battles for a bit? Amazing, it sound perfect for me. I am that distracted hoe collecting flowers while the kingdom burns in the background. Side quests are everything to me. Let me give homeless people enough money to get them in a home? Let me adopt Pokemon that are stray around the town? Plz oh plz bring me a Pokemon game that allows me to work WITH my team to do more than KO other species. I want to save and buy a plow for my buddy gogoat, and grow amazing foods to sell to get currency to spend in decorations, to spoil my team. Give me actual game consequence, if I ignore that sick and injured Pokemon I find in the wild, later maybe it’s family don’t want to help me out with a different problem, too stricken from grief. I am all about the average bits, the old women who need help, the lost pets board in town, the general day to day stuff. Let me get cosmetic items for the Pokemon I keep, cute outfits, special gemstone items, let me actually live with them, or even feel remotely like they’re realistic.
Ok so in game, if it’s looking like BOTW it’s pretty beautiful but also stylised, I’d have it so you can send out a maximum of 3 Pokemon from your 6, using bumpers and such to throw them out. If you hit the trigger you switch from controlling the human trainer, to the Pokemon you’ve targeted with a standard lock on targeting system. You then can be the leader, but be the Pokemon. You could technically defeat the game without a human if you wanted, which incorporates the mystery dungeon games I think, and caters to that crowd. I’d love to see the use of attacks out of battle, things like using water gun to grow plants, using ember to start a campfire faster and stave off the cold. There’s no consequence to Pokemon anymore, and I think that’s where it’s lost me. I have to admit I miss the days of a poisoned pokemon fainting if you don’t heal them soon enough, I miss gym battles that were actually tough, damn, try picking charmander in red and beating brock without grinding in viridian forest first, it’s not easy. And I loved that. Yes it’s a child’s game, it will never be difficult again, but god it’d be nice to have a bit of a challenge, or maybe a difficulty setting, so some could play it with hostility turned off, great for kids, or you can be n adult like I know so many Pokemon fans are, and play it on expert mode and ACTUALLY have to work hard to beat the game. Alternate skill trees anyone? Train gun a fire type to ACUTALLy combat water moves?? Please! Cmon! It frustrated me that every challenger has pretty much a systematic set of moves to use to win. Grass opponent? Fire attack spam until you win. It’s dull, so at least with very difficult tricks to either find or learn in game would make it more achievable if you can send that fire type in and I don’t know, train them so much the heat evaporates the water mid-battle and you suddenly have a shot at winning. Pokemon has taught me that if you work hard enough you can achieve something, but the games just have such strict ways to win. Feels wrong.
In terms of battling, let us BE the Pokemon, let us learn to dodge, train our speed, train our defence, make a team of truly tough Pokemon instead of just, average? Some species have a cap on their skills, a squirtle has lower stat points than a Charizard, but you can’t ever change that? Let me choose the Pokemon I believe in, and let me work with them until they’re just as good, if not better than the game tanks. This would also make online battles more interesting. Everyone picks the top trio. Fairy, dragon, legendaries. And yknow what? It’s boring. That one IRL fight with the monster Pacharisu that won in the world tournament with follow me and the situs Berry? Unbelievable, I love that little rat so much because of this, so let us all have a chance to build a team that’s strategically viable, strong, and potentially a winner formula, even if they aren’t fully evolved, or the biggest Pokemon in the world. Yeah maybe you have to grind way harder with your unevolved Pokemon, but you get to the end game and win, because you put love and time into species that you enjoy, not just good fighters.
Unfortunately I am beholdent to Todd-idiot-Howard, and I love the Eldrescrolls and fallout games (before they got dumb, not that I don’t play the new ones. 76 I’m looking at you, you big asshole game.) honestly I hate online games, so none of that junk, just a good old fashioned open world sandbox game is plenty. Games for me are an escape from others, not an invitation to socialise. To each their own of course, and I do play online games sometimes, just pretty short lived ones, over watch and rdr2 for example. Would they be sometimes better on private servers? Yes of course, fallout76? Want to play with others? No. I do not. Please leave me alone. And if you buy a private server you’re feeding the monster that is Todd Howard, the man the myth the asshole, then we’ll get more bad games like 76. I just so desperately want the Pokemon company to see what a beautiful potential game they’ve got on their hands, that could be suitable for far greater audiences, but instead they’ve focused on the kids. It’s fine, it’s functional, but it’s lost to the fans from day 1, that are all 20+ years old now and want something meatier to play, something far more broad and inclusive. I also hate that there’s no wheelchair option in any Pokemon game. Like cmon, it’s not hard to include that.
In short, BOTW + Pokemon, with a sprinkle of open world sandbox to it, less fighting, more fun. Or, at least both options. Sure, go fight everything, great, but I want to farm carrots over here with 6sunflora, plz let me have some peace.
Edit: I forgot about harvest moon, chuck some of that in there too.
SECOND EDIT: someone in the comments mentioned to put this in Unova? Plz love yourselves, this game would be ALL MAPS. Stuff one singular location, this is the ideal game, put every map in it, join them, put islands in, make them more explorable, more detailed!

No Working Tonight
Tumblr media
Note:...hi jkhdskhf this is my first ever fic i’ve ever written so.....if its not good then this never happened lkdjjk. Anyways i’m not really sure how I feel about this so let me know what you think bc idk if i’m in love with it. Also, sorry for any mistakes like i’ve said i’ve never done this before lmao.
content: assistant!y/n X harry styles
warnings: none really, drinking maybe.
word count: 2.1k+
                                            ///
Y/n has been running around all day trying to get things ready for tonight. Tonight was very important and everything had to be perfect. She’s spent half of her day on the rooftop of one of Harry’s favorite fancy clubs in LA, where the party is going to be. She’s been setting up tables and making sure there was enough drinks and food for every one that RSVPed. Tonight they were celebrating the end of love on tour. Celebrating the end of the fine line era really. He’s worked so hard writing, recording and then touring. She’d be lying if she said she wasn’t proud of him.
Now though, she can’t think about that, she needs to focus so she can finish up and head home to get ready for tonight. Just as she’s going over the last few things with the staff of the club, Harry walks in.
“Hey!” Y/n says when she notices him “What are you doing here? You’re Supposed to be getting ready for tonight!”
“I could ask ya the same thing! thought I told ya no workin’ tonigh’” he replies.
“Hmm, no rest for the wicked I guess” y/n jokes. “Anyways, what are you doing here??”
“Came to drop some things off ’or tonigh’, but I was serious! No workin’! Go home! Get ready! You’re not my assistant tonigh’ you're a Guest, and guests aren’t to arrive for a few more hours.” Harry replied.
“I know, I know, I’m sorry! I just want to make sure everything is perfect for tonight! You’ve worked hard.”
“n’ I’m sure it will be, you’ve worked just as hard as me love, if anythin’, tonigh’ is a celebration of you to, couldn'ta done it without ya.”
“Don’t say that” y/n says, rolling her eyes. “I just follow your orders” she fake smiles at him.
He copies her previous movement, rolling his own eyes. “go home Before I have to call security on ya, I’ll see you tonigh’ love.”
                                             ///
Y/n showed up early of course. To make sure everything was still running smoothly. And it was, of course, she was the one who set this all up after all.
As the night went on, more and more friends and family of Harry’s have arrived. She’s never seen him so happy. He was practically glowing under all the praise he was getting. He deserved it all.
“Y/n!” She heard Harry call, breaking her out of her thought. “Come over here! There’s someone I want you to meet!”
She excused herself from the Conversation she was pretending to be interested in. Making her way over to Harry, grabbing another Champagne glass off a tray of a server who walked by.
“Harry” he said, placing his hand on her back and pulling her a tad bit closer. “this is y/n l/n, y/n, this is Harry Lambert.”
“Oh, yes of course!” Y/n said, shaking his hand. “I’ve heard so much about you!”
“As have I you!” Lambert replied. “I can’t believe it’s taken us so long to meet! As we both spend as much time with H as we do.”
The night went on like that. Harry pulling her from groups of people to people, introducing her to everyone he could.
It would have been a little strange to y/n if she didn’t have quite as many champagne glasses in her as she did, but Harry did say she wasn’t working tonight after all. So why was he keeping her so close by? If he didn’t need her for anything, why was he making sure she wasn’t out of his sight all night?
A couple of new acquaintances and Champagne glasses later. Jeff stepped up on a makeshift stage. “If I could get everyone's attention for just a moment please?” He said into a microphone. “Hi, I’m sorry, I’ll let you all get back to eating and mingling amongst yourselves In just a Moment, I just wanted to say a few words about the man of the hour.”
Jeff’s promise to be just a moment did not come true. After Jeff had said a speech about how proud he was of Harry, there seemed to be a line of others who also wanted to share just how proud they were of him. And again, he was glowing. Complements looked good on him.
Maybe it was the champagne, or maybe it was just The sheer fact that y/n was so proud of Harry that she couldn’t keep it in any longer and she felt the need to share her own speech of praise in front of all his friends and family.
Mitch was finishing up his speech, so she went and stood by the makeshift stage so when he was done, he would pass her the microphone.
“Hi everybody.” y/n said into the mic once Mitch wrapped his speech up. “so I guess it's my turn to say a few words now.” she said with a small laugh.
“Um, for those of you who don’t know me, I’m y/n l/n, H’s assistant….servant, same thing right?” She laughed as did everyone in the crowd.
She made eye contact with Harry who was rolling his eyes at her previous joke. “no no, I’m just kidding, Harry’s actually really amazing to work with. He always jokes about he doesn’t know where he’d be without me, he’d truly lose his head if It wasn’t screwed on.” she laughs again. “but really, I’m not sure where I’d be if it wasn’t for him.” Her voice softened.
“I’m just so so proud of you and the man you have become H, and I know everyone else here is too. You are truely, the most selfless hard working man I know, and I just can’t say enough how proud I am of you. Congratulations on fine line.” She finishes, holding up her champagne glass as a toast, and the rest of the crowd follows.
She steps off the small stage and hands the microphone over to the next person. Walking over to where Harry is standing.
He has such a content look on his face. “hey.” she starts.
“Hi.” he smiles. “thank you.” He says, pulling her into a hug. “really, your words mean a lot to me, so thank you.”
“Of course H, I meant everything I said.” she says into his neck.
She spends the rest of the speeches by him, with his hands on both her shoulders gently swaying them both. Every once in a while she’ll look up at Harry’s face to see his endeared smile at someone talking about him on stage, or laughing at something they said.
A few more complaints and embarrassing stories later, the night is winding down and people are starting to head out. Y/n is one of the last people there, helping clean up, and making sure all the dishes and decor that Harry brought from home himself, gets back to his place.
“’scuse me? Thought I told you no workin’ tonigh’” Harry says, walking over to her.
She smiles at him. “if I don’t do this then who will?” She starts to walk to him, meeting him in the middle when she trips, almost falling but Harry reached out and grabbed her. “woah, careful love.”
“See I told you,” she said. “wasn’t working tonight, had too much champagne.”
“Yeah I see that, not really in a state to drive are ya?”
“Probably not, I was gonna call myself an Uber.”
“Nonsense, ride with me?”
“Mhhh okay, but only because I’m gonna be the one calling your car round anyways. It’s the least you can do.” She jokes.
As they walk down the stairs and to the front of the building where his car is waiting for them, Harry keeps a hand on her the whole time, just in case she falls again.
“Here ya go love.” he says, opening her door, helping her climb in, and buckling her seat belt.
“Thank you, but I can buckle myself up you know?”
“Hm, judging from that almost fall upstairs, doubtful.” Harry replies, climbing in his own seat next to her. “Home please.” He tells his driver.
“Not funny.” y/n says, laying her head on his shoulder and closing her eyes. “you have fun tonight H?”
If Harry’s heart could burst, he swears it would right then and there. “I did love.” He chuckles.
“Why are you laughing? I’m serious you know?”
“Mh so I am. You’re a sleepy drunk huh? Don’t think I’ve ever seen you drunk before.”
“I should hope not, you’ve only ever seen me when I’m working” She says, eyes still closed.
“Suppose, did you have fun tonigh’ love?”
“Mh” She hums. “I’m so cold.”
“Ya cold? Comere.” He says, pulling her further into him, wrapping his arms around her and running his hands up and down her to warm her up.
“Thanks” she says sleepily.
                                           \\\
“Wake up love, we’re home.” y/n feels Harry whisper into her hair.
She stirs awake, still laying against Harry. Lifting her head up so she’s looking at him, their faces inches apart.
“Hi” she whispers.
“Lo’ love.”
“You’re so pretty.” she whispers at him again.
A couple moments pass before he whispers back. “thank you sweetheart, you’re prettier.”
She stares up at him again, looking at his eyes, moving down to his lips when he licks them and says “let’s go inside yeah?”
“You brought me back to your house?” She Asks while he helps her step out if the car, still worried about her falling.
“Hm” he hums. “wanted to make sure you’re safe.”
“I’m not that drunk H.” she laughs. “just a little sleepy s’all.”
“Just let me take care of ya yeah?”
“That’s my job.” she laughs as Harry leads her inside his house.
“You’re off duties tonigh’, member?”
“Guess you’re right.”
“Hm, go get yourself changed into some comfy clothes yeah? I’m gonna get ya some water.”
If she wasn’t so tired and ready to get out of her dress, she would have protested some more, but instead she agreed and headed upstairs to Harry’s room. She must have something here to wear. She has spent a couple nights in Harry’s guest bedroom when she was working too late and Harry didn’t want her to fall asleep on her drive home.
Instead of making her way to the guest bedroom. Something (the champagne most likely) carried her into Harry’s bedroom. She opened his closet doors and ran her fingers across his t-shirt section, that she just color coded a couple of weeks ago.
She picked her favorite, a white shirt with blue writing that says “enjoy heath, eat your honey” and slipped it on over her head. She also slipped on some of his boxer shorts.
Feeling more tired than ever. She walked herself over to his bed and laid down on the comforter, deciding she’d wait for Harry there.
                                           \\\
She stirred awake for the second time that night when she felt Harry pulling the comforter over her.
“Shhh, go back to sleep baby, just covering you up.” Harry whispered.
She grabbed his arm when he went to move away. “mm, where you going?” she mumbled, Sleepily.
“Gonna go lay down in the guest bedroom Love, you stay here yeah?”
“Nooo” she whined, opening her eyes to look at him. “lay with me?”
Again, if Harry’s heart could burst, it would. “Ya want me to stay?”
She nodded her head. “Please?”
“Okay baby I’ll stay, scoot over.”
After Harry climbed into bed, she made herself at home on his chests once again.
“Comfy?” He asked.
“Mhh” she hummed, looking up at him. “Harry?”
“Yeah love?” He said, looking back down at her.
She was laying on his chests still, head facing up so that she was looking directly at him. She scanned his face, starting at his eyes, they were content, she traveled down to his lips, staying there, watching them whisper “not nice to Stare love” after a moment.
He brings his hand down to her own lips, dragging his thumb across them.
 “H?” She whispers again.
He brings his eyes back up to hers.
“Kiss me.” She says.
“What?”
“Please.” She whispered back, pulling herself closer to him.
He searched her eyes for any sign of doubt. When he found none, he leaned in connecting their lips, kissing her soft at first. He pulled back, looked at her again, making sure she was still alright, then leaned back in, kissing her and kissing her, until they both ran out of breath.
She laid her chin on his chest, smiling up at him, while he’s running his fingers through her hair.
“Ya good?” He asks, smiling at her content face.
“The best”  She replied.

I'll be making this into a long fic, but for now I chose to keep it short. Hermitcraft x Dream SMP crossover
Title: button
Grian sat down at the oak wood table, brow furrowed. Another day, another failed attempt to reconnect to Hermitcraft. The strange glitch that had caused the border to fall in the first place must have been repaired, for the world border was back up and running. His communicator didn’t work outside of his home server, and Phil’s crows (who insisted on following the man everywhere, and who Phil had put up to the task of flying between the severs, trying to gather intel on the border glitch and if people were trying to find him) haven’t delivered any news.
The builder glanced out the window as the sun set over the horizon. Past that was Hermitcraft. His home. What was Mumbo doing? Scar? Iskall? Xisuma? How was the war progressing without him? Did anyone notice his absence? No, Grian, don’t get sad. Happy thoughts only...Happy thoughts.
    “Grain!”
Torn away from his thoughts, Grian looked up to see Philza, his dark grey wings fluffed up in distress. “Wil’s sent a letter.” The avian said, holding up a piece of paper.
“Well, that’s good!” Phil had been under extreme stress these past couple of days since Wilbur hadn’t sent a letter in weeks and the past few he had sent were...concerning, to say the least. “What’s it say?”
Another letter should have been a relief, but from the look on Phil’s face, Grian concluded that this letter was everything except relief.
“It’s just a date, time, and coordinates. November 16th, noon, with a set of coords in L’Manberg…” Phil’s voice trailed off as his dark emerald eyes scanned the page, over and over, as if he were looking for more writing than just a simple date.
“That’s tomorrow, innit?” Grian questioned, trying to distract the man from his distress. That’s how Grian ignored his. Happy thoughts. Happy thoughts. Happy thoughts. “I mean, you’ll be able to see your sons, check up on Wil?”
“Something doesn’t feel right about this, Grain.” Even after all this time together, Phil still called him Grain. Grian stifled a laugh, as it wasn’t the appropriate time to giggle. “His last few letters concerned me. He mentioned something in his last one about 11 and a half stacks of TNT.” Phil looked Grian dead in the eye and whispered, “Grain, I think Wilbur is going to blow L’Manberg!”
“But why?” Grian attempted to rationalize with the distraught Phil, who was now pacing across the room making stressed-out bird noises. “He won the election, shouldn’t he be content with that?” This type of stuff never happened on Hermitcraft. There were never serious talks of blowing up anyone’s builds, much less an entire country! The only time TNT is used is in pranks, and they always helped clean up after.
“You clearly don’t know Wilbur...He’s a force of chaos, I’ll tell you that. A creative little shit who always comes up with new ways to get what he wants. If he wants L’Manberg gone, then he’ll go to crazy lengths to achieve that goal.”
    Silence fell.
“We need to get to L’Manberg. Now. It’s about a day’s flight from here, and we need to leave now if we want to get there as fast as fucking possible.” Phil tucked the letter into the pocket of his dark green kimono and flexed his wings. Unlike Grian, who used the sleek and slim elytra to fly about, Philza had a pair of actual feathery wings. Upon arrival, Phil explained that he was a bird hybrid, also known as an avian. He had feathers on the sides of his face and neck with elfish ears. Back on Hermitcraft, every member of the server was human.
Grian and Phil started out on their journey north, towards the world border of Dream SMP. The sun had risen, and the world border was in sight. Phil stated that Dream, the apparent Admin of the server, had agreed to let up the border for a few seconds to let Phil and Grian inside. Phil took a rest on a tree, breathing heavily after hours of non-stop flight.
“You alright, Big P?” If Phil could nickname him Grain, Grian would nickname him as well. A smile twinged across Phil’s face.
“Ahh...You sound so much like my youngest, Tommy. He says that to people too. You remind me of him so much. Right down to your red shirt and the aura of pure, unbridled chaos you emit.”
Both men laughed. Grian really enjoyed Phil’s laugh, and despite how giggly and giddy the avian usually was, it had been a few days since he had last heard him laugh. Wilbur’s lack of letters had really spooked him.
“Will you stay?”
“Hmm?”
“In L’Manberg. I mean, it’s closer to your sons.”
Phil shrugged and drank a potion of strength, and stood.
“I might, depending on what happens. If my theory is correct, and Wilbur is going to blow the place up, then I’ll probably stay. Just to help him out and help clean up y’know? Maybe I’ll be able to convince him to come home. Before you got here, I was...really lonely.”
“Well, you won’t be lonely anymore! Since I can’t return home yet, I’ll be your friend so you don’t have to be lonely!”
“Thanks, Grain.”
“You’re welcome, Big P!”
The two rose and started to fly towards the world border. Maybe Grian could make a new home on Dream SMP. The builder already started making plans for an epic build, having a vague idea in his head. However, he would have to inspect the landscapes available to see what his block palette would be and what style his build would be. Grian thought of his mansion back home and wanted to build something similar to remember it.
“Oi! Grain! You there mate?”
Grian shook his head as he was, again, dragged from his daydreams by Phil. They had arrived at the world border. “I’ve sent word to Dream, he should be letting us in soon.”
“Alrighty! What kind of base do you want to build if you stay?”
Phil just shrugged. “Eh. Don’t know just yet. Don’t want to start anything too ambitious, like a Hardcore project.”
Grian kept forgetting that this man held the world record for the longest Hardcore run. Phil was only 5”4 and didn’t look that intimidating. He looked loving and fatherly, and Grian considered Phil to be like a father to him. But the man was a dedicated Hardcore player, and could easily take Grian down in a fight. It scared him, sometimes, about how little he actually knew about Phil.
“Alright, mate, let’s go.” The blue striped border had been removed by the mysterious admin, and the two flew into Dream SMP. Grian felt a buzz from his communicator and pulled it from his pocket.
<Grian joined the game>
<Ph1LzA joined the game>
Unlike in Hermitcraft, when a member joins the server (especially a new member), the entire chat would be flooded with ‘hello!’ messages. However, on the Dream SMP, there were one or two directed at Phil. How peculiar. Phil went silent as they flew over the woods and forest. In the distance, Grian could see what appeared to be a city. That must be L’Manberg. It wasn’t as big or as grand as some builds on Hermitcraft, heck his own base would have taken up over half of the area if he lived there. On a tall pole lay what Grian assumed was the flag of L’Manberg, inky black, with a fiery red arch and X. Interesting design. Phil didn’t go into the city, however, he flew towards the coordinates that Wilbur had written in his letter, his brow furrowed. Fireworks crackled and popped throughout L’Manberg.
Grian landed with Phil, in front of a small tunnel that bore deep into a hill that was just outside the country.
“It’s now or never. Grain, stay behind me.” Phil tucked the letter away and led Grian through the tunnel, and into a compact stone room. Carved into the wall were words. No, not just words. Lyrics.
I heard there was a special place,
where men could go and emancipate.
From the brutality and tyranny of their rulers.
Well, this place was real, you needn’t fret,
With Wilbur, Tommy, Tubbo, fuck Eret.
It’s a very big place, not blown up L’Manberg.
MY L’MANBERG
MY L’MANBERG
MY L’MANBERG…
Those lyrics were carved all over the stone walls, and in the middle, was a stone button. In front of that button, was Philza’s eldest son, Wilbur.
Grian had never actually seen Wilbur before, only in an old picture of when Phil, Wilbur, and Phil’s other two sons, Tommy and Technoblade, won MCC 4. In that picture, Wilbur wore a cute yellow sweater with a brown beanie, with a shimmering smile on his face.
The man that stood before them now was not that person. It couldn’t be. Wilbur stood, hunched over a stone button, whispering to himself. He donned a brown trenchcoat and ditched the beanie.
“What are you doing?” Phil asked.
Wilbur turned to face them. His eyes had no emotion in them, his smile no longer shimmered. Standing before them was an insane man.
“I will admit,” Wilbur said. His voice sent a chill down Grian’s spine, “Do you know what this is? What this button is?” Phil’s speculations appeared to be true. Wilbur was trying to destroy L’Manberg.
“Uh huh. I do.” How, how could Phil be so calm?
“Have you heard the song? The song on the walls?” Wilbur’s fingers gently ran over the words ‘MY L’MANBERG’. His eye twitched, “I was just making a big point you know? About how there was a special place, it was a special place. But that's not there anymore.” Wil’s voice lowered to a hush.
“It is there, Wil, it's out there.”
“PHIL I’M ALWAYS SO CLOSE TO PRESSING THIS BUTTON! I’VE BEEN HERE LIKE SEVEN OR EIGHT TIMES--” Voices from above cut Wilbur off. Grian could hear footsteps above them. Wilbur turned his eyes to the stone ceiling and lowered his voice. “Oh they're going to come…I need to block this off.” Wilbur hastily piled blackstone bricks in the doorway, which not only sealed whoever “they” were out, but also sealed Grian, Phil, and Wilbur in.
“Oh Phil...I’ve been here so many times.”
Numerous fireworks exploded outside.
<Tubbo_ went off with a bang due to a firework fired from [Rocket Launcher] by Technoblade>
“Oh they’re fighting, they’re fighting…” WIlbur whispered, sounding tired.
“And you just want to...to blow it all up? You fought so hard for this land, Wilbur, and you just want to...destroy it all?” Phil tried to reason.
“I don’t even know if the button works anymore, Phil, I could press it, and it might--”
“Do you want to risk it? There is a lot of TNT potentially connected to that button.”
Wilbur seemed to hear him. His breathing got heavier as he returned to that hunched over position over the stone button. What was this place? Nothing serious ever happened on Hermitcraft. There were no seriously high stakes, there were no serious threats, no serious danger. It was all in good fun.
“There...there was a saying, Phil...by, uh, by a traitor. Once part of L’Manberg, don’t know if you ever heard of Eret, but he had a saying.”
Wilbur looked up at Phil. Grian could see the familiar resemblance between the two, they shared emerald green eyes.
“It was never meant to be.” Wilbur whispered that phrase, and pressed the stone button.

Club ‘Illusion’
Fandom: DC x Marvel Pairing: Avenger x Batfam | Reader x Loki Word count: 3k (yes I can still write things over 1.5k words) Summay: With your hero work taking up most of your time you decide to find an outlet - that outlet turns out to be your own soon to be opened club. On the V.I.P. list for that evening? Two of the most important groups of people in your life. The only problem: they have yet to meet each other, not to mention the little fact that you’ve been keeping not just the club a secret... Requested by a universal fantastic Anon: If requests are still open, can I request a BatBoys x reader x Avengers where both teams meet through reader and fight because they were talking about which team reader likes more? Pairing would be your choice.
Tumblr media
“Where does this go, boss?” a man in a dungaree holding a box full of musical equipment, chords and the like asked you and interrupted the conversation you were having with the DJ. “Bring it up these stairs there and then set it onto the black clothed table, Marianne will be there in a minute, could you help her set it up? “Sure thing boss,” the man nodded and trudged over to the direction you had waved him to. You turned back to Marianne - the mentioned DJ - who had been your friend for years and she was the first person you had hired when you had decided to take the advice of your Avengers issued therapist and find an outlet for your creativity and passion outside of your time-consuming hero work all over the planet and the universe. So you decided to use your funds from years of getting paid by Tony Stark and Bruce Wayne (even though you continued telling them you didn’t want their money) to do something fun and - in the spirit of a certain green-themed archer - open a nightclub. You had kept everything under wraps, the only people knowing about it were the contractors, decorators and Marianne and they all pledged secrecy, but tonight you would lift the metaphorical curtain. With the Avengers and Waynes (including non-Wayne-named) invited and the news about this new club opening all over social media doing the rest you were positively sure that tonight would be a great night. “Y/N?” Marianne’s voice ripped you out of your daydreams and you had to shake your head free of other thoughts and focus back onto the matter at hand, with last touches still having to be made. “Uhm- yeah, sorry, I was lost in thoughts.” “Don’t worry, I’m sure everything will go just fine. Look around you, this place is amazing, everyone did such an amazing job,” she complimented and you couldn’t help but follow her advice and actually take a look around. The room was very spacious and even though it was almost empty except the worker getting ready for tonight and a few others who helped set some stuff up. In the middle was a lower dance area with small sets of steps leading up, the floor in a chess pattern, but neon techni-coloured instead of black and white, all around that area were booths to sit in and on the far end of the room, a bit off of the dance-ground were two circular bars that were fully stocked with every drink you could ever need or want. On the other end was a stage for life-performances and ten feet above that was a sort of balcony that served as the DJ-booth with a view over the entire club. And yet again on the other side, above the bars, was a V.I.P. room which was a bit more soundproof and where a conversation could be actually held, with a one-way-mirror facing the club. The way the lights reflected off the surfaces and the sound carried through the space really confirmed what Marianne had said, the place was pretty amazing. “You’re right, you’re right, I’m sorry,” you took a deep calming breath and smiled. “Yes I am, but now we gotta get going, I’ll be up in the booth if you need me. You better give the final briefing to the staff,” she instructed before turning around and walking away. Deciding that taking her advice was the best course of action you went to go to the staff room, when Marianne called out to you yet again, shouting after you: “Don’t forget that you gotta be getting ready in an hour, your special guest should be arriving around then.”
The evening was starting to greet the people and the sun had started to disappear a few minutes ago when a group of five and a group of six gathered before a clearly newly constructed building - a club - with the name ‘Illusion’ in enlightened letters on the front. A long line of interested people, mostly young adults around 25, stretched before what seemed to be the entrance, but it seemed to still be closed. Both of the groups looked around a little bit confused, but they didn’t notice each other, or at least found nothing suspicious about the other. Now, if you were to take a very close look at both of these groups beside each other you’d find a lot of similarities, like - for example - the redeemed ‘bad-guy’ who now acted as professional sarcastic commentator, the goofball with a history in circus, the genius, philanthropist, playboy billionaire and the bad-ass tech-savvy red-head. Not to mention all of their past-time ‘hobbies’. And yet, with all these great intellect and talent collected in front of the club, they did not seem to be able to figure out what they were doing there or that there was another group in just about the same situation. The doors to the club opened and a bouncer and two servers walked out, the bouncer stationating himself before the entrance and starting to check people in, and the two servers looking around for a second before catching sight of the groups. They exchanged a few words before each of them walked over to the collection of people. The group from New York was brought over to the front entrance, allowed to skip the line and enter the club, while the Gotham-group was brought in through the back-entrance, but even though the place where they entered the club was different, they were yet both stil led to the same room, up above the bars behind a one-way-mirror.
You had changed into your sparkle-y, y/f/c outfit with make-up that would glow in the ultraviolet light that would shine all over the club later and your hair in a fashionable hairdo, perfectly prepared for your great night, with Marianne’s outfit mirroring yours just in different colours. With a clipboard you made your last round through the different areas, checking in with your staff and manager to make sure that everything would go flawless and that they could come to you with questions or if they needed help - if necessary you yourself would change into the gender-neutral uniform and start serving people. In the end the last area you had to check before meeting your special guests in the V.I.P. area was the DJ booth. “Everything good?” you asked, enjoying the last moments of relative silence before the booming music would start as you leant over the balcony railing and eyed your own little business. “Yes, I tried it out during soundcheck earlier while you were getting dressed, it’s some sweet equittement you got here, a Dream,” Marianne sighed in bliss and you could see how happy she was to be able to work with this equipment that had certainly cost enough to deserve that demeanor from her. “You know, if you like it this much, I could use a full-time DJ,” you tried to mention as nonchalant as possible, but you could feel her piercing, unbelieving gaze in your neck. “Are you serious? I thought you had employed one over a month ago. I thought tonight was a one-time-thing.” “Oh well, I did talk to one but then I listened to some of his stuff and compared to you it’s like a ten years old project on garage band. But don’t worry, I get it, you’re right. I’m sure you have way better gigs lined up left and right, I’ll find someone,” you shrugged, a little bit disappointed that Marianne didn’t seem even remotely interested in working full-time, only to be stopped when she grabbed your shoulders and began to almost shake you. “Are you kidding, I would love to work here full-time!!! This job would be a dream: the equipment, the atmosphere, my employer! DJ’s would kill for an opportunity like this. That’s why I was so confused, I thought you’d have plenty of better DJs lining up for this job,” she gushed before hugging you close and almost sobbing with happiness and thanking you for this opportunity. You agreed that you’d talk the details over later before telling her to start the music since people started to walk in and you could see a certain group of Heroes being led by one of your bar-women walking towards the left stairs to the V.I.P. room and another group of vigilantes led by one of the security-members being brought to the elevator on the right side to exactly the same room. “Okay, I gotta go, Got me some guests waiting,” you winked at Marianne who just waved you off, too immersed in her element. With quick steps and a happy smile you walked along the side of the room and followed where you saw the Avengers walk up, a little skip in your step. Honoring your word, both groups had been brought into the V.I.P. area which was big enough for them to both sit inside it without having to sit together, with the security guard taking position at the wall and the bar-women at the small, private bar. Another calming sigh later you opened the door and walked into the room immediately catching the eyes of all occupants of the room and as you nodded at your two employees in thanks, both groups of superheroes had stood up to greet you, seemingly only now realizing the presence (or rather the reason of the presence) of each other. “Hello guys, it’s so nice to have you here,” you greeted all 11 with a big gesture before mentioning to the window, “So, what do you think?” Confused eyes found you and they looked between each other and you, only one pair standing out, but seemingly not ready to reveal themselves properly yet. “It looks amazing,” Stephanie, who somehow managed to look perfectly club-fitting even in her casual clothes with her blond hair laying over her shoulder in a braid, and jumped towards you and engulfed you in a sisterly hug like she always did, “How did you get us in? I saw the adverts for this place all over social media and the line was enormous. Do you know the owner?” You held back a chuckle and laid your head to the side. “You could say so,” you gave her a cheeky smile that she couldn’t quite decipher, before turning to face the complete group, “But first things first, introduction.” Since both of the groups were still standing separately enough to be distinguished between you motioned to the Waynes. “May I introduce my somewhat-adopted-not-legally-but-emotionally-family. This is Bruce Wayne - I bet you all have heard of him - these are his sons, Richard Grayson - you can call him Dick - and Jason Todd, and his daughter Stephanie - or Steph - Brown and close family friend Barbara Gordon,” you motioned to each of them in turn with their names and they nodded in greeting at the others, still unknown to them. Then you turned to the others and said: “And may I introduce to you my first ever superhero team slash found family group also known as the Avengers - or rather a view of them anyways. Here we have Tony Stark - I’m sure you heard of him too, Natasha Romanoff and Clint Barton, our two super soldiers Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes and the trickster god himself - Loki.” “Wait, Loki-Loki? The ‘battle-of-New-York’ Loki?” Jason asked in a surprised, but also amused manner and you could almost hear Loki roll his eyes. “Oh please, get over it Mortal,” he answered sarcastically, but before you could intervene Stephanie took her turn. “Oh you’re one to talk Jay, let’s not forget that.” You couldn’t help but giggle a bit at that and even though the Avengers seemed confused at how easily that shut Jason up, they accepted it as the end of that part of the conversation. For a few minutes the gathered people - a few of your favorite people in the world - started making their own introductions and you were happy that you saw them get along well. Waiting for a good opportunity to get into the conversation and get back to what you wanted to tell them, you were stopped from taking it when Dick motioned at Loki’s outfit. A deep-green suit, black dress-shirt under it, a golden tie, black hair slicked back and black asgardian armor boots - putting that certain touch to it - adorned him and you couldn’t blame Dick when he stated: “How comes none of us got a warning that we’d need to wear something fancy, but he did?” It was only now that the people who had come there with Loki had noticed his outfit and it was Tony who raised an eyebrow. “What happened to the grey jumper you said was ‘nice enough’ to be seen out with when you have to be out with us annoying mortals?” “Well, I can’t let Lady Y/N be the only one who shows that she has a sense of elegance and fashion in this despicable planet, can I now?” Loki answered sarcastically and now you wanted to roll your eyes at him calling you ‘Lady Y/N’, something you had told him to stop ages ago. “Loki isn’t actually wearing this,” you tried to clear things up, ignoring Loki’s remark, only to receive even more confusing looks, causing you to sigh. “Loki is a trickster god, he uses Illusions, he’s probably still in his Pajamas, he just makes it seem like he is wearing this.” Before anyone would start bombarding the god and you with questions, you took hold of  the conversation and used your stern hero voice to gain the attention. “Now I’m sure you’re all wondering why I invited my favorite people to a newly opened nightclub and like Stephanie has already mentioned, one that is hard to get into nonetheless. The reason is-” you made a pause to emphasize, “-that it is my club.” A wave of confused ‘what?’s hit you and you quickly explained: “Well, I needed to find another outlet than hanging around with other heroes and busting bad guys and after a talk with Oliver - he’s a friend from Starling city,” you explained for the Avengers, “I decided that opening a club was just what I needed. That’s the reason I was so absent the past few weeks, I was busy planning and employing and stuff, but from now on everything should run itself. I will be able to perfectly split my time into three for the club, hero work and friends and family.” “That’s so cool!” Stephanie squealed and gave you a high five and the others joined in congratulating you, telling you how amazing everything looked and that they were proud of you. “Boss?” a voice interrupted from behind you and you turned to see one of your staff members, “Could I talk to you for a second?”   “Excuse me for a bit, I gotta go and run my business,” you cheekily smiled and left your two favorite teams to make conversation as you and the women left through the door that lead to the stairs. “So what’s the matter? What can I he-” you were rudely interrupted when the women’s form morphed into a taller, sleeker one of a certain trickster and promptly continued to press you against the door you had just left through. “Well, well, look who’s getting impatient,” you giggled as he pressed a kiss to your jawline. That was another secret that you had kept from your teams and even from Marianne. Loki and you. If you were being quite honest you were not sure how the two of you became a thing, but somehow you did and now the two of you were waiting for the right moment to tell the rest of the team that you were a lot more than just colleagues. “Can you blame me? You should’ve told me about this, beloved, then I’d known that you were not growing sick of me. I was all worried when you kept on disappearing,” he muttered as he relished in the closeness with you. Slightly shocked at this you grabbed his broad shoulders and pushed him back slightly. “How could you ever think that, Loki? I love you, I could never grow sick of you,” you assured him and pressed a loving kiss to his lips. “That is very good to know, beloved, and I’ll make sure to remind you of that whenever you need,” he winked and you couldn’t help but giggle. “Okay, okay, but I think I have to go back now, we can pick this up again later.” You turned around and opened the door again only to catch what was being said. “We’re obviously her favorites, I mean this club is in New York, not Gotham, why do you think that is?” “Oh shut your mouth, that means nothing. You heard what she said, we’re her family, we’re her brothers and sisters. The Demon is the best proof of that.” “Which Demon?” “Oh please, she called us her family too. After all we got all the appeal of you, but we also have gods.” “She has dinner every second weekend with Superman, an amazonian goddess, the king of atlantis and a world-class magician.” “Well with us she has the world's strongest AI, a world class witch AND the sorcerer supreme, two timeless soldiers, the world's fastest man and the god of thunder.” “Oh please, our fastest man could beat your fastest man in his sleep, not to mention that we have multiple of them.” “Well then bring it on” After having heard enough you looked at Loki, back at the group - and the illusion Loki that was standing bored beside them - and back at Loki, before closing the door again. “You know what, I think I’ll just let them talk that over for a bit.” “Yeah, I think that would be best,” Loki agreed, but he was clearly amused. “What do you think they’ll do when they find out that I am actually your favorite?” he asked teasingly and snug his arms around your waist. “Honestly I’m not sure you’d survive that…”

The Way to a Hobbit’s Heart
Thorin Oakenshield x Bilbo Baggins (Bagginshield)
Requested: Yes and no! This piece is part of “The Hobbit Discord Server’s Holiday Gift Exchange 2020″ and is my gift to @misfit-with-a-pen 💖
Warnings: oh my goodness, all the fluff! I can’t! Also Sassy Bilbo because it’s still me who wrote this :)
Summary: When Bilbo enjoys a nice afternoon walk in the Shire, he notices a smell... A rather foul smell, if he was honest. When he comes closer to his home, the smell seems to intensify. It couldn't come from his house now, could it? Because Thorin was home.... Alone. Oh dear!
A/N: This story couldn’t exist without the help of @xxbyimm! She is such an amazing and fantastic person and always ready to listen to me rant about ideas, complaining about everything and gave me TONS of advice on top of that. How wonderful is that?
Tumblr media
Bilbo always favored late afternoon walks over morning strolls.
Though he knew most of his neighbors wouldn’t agree with him and probably would think of him as even more peculiar than they already did if they knew, he just couldn’t help himself.
You see, it was the way the sun hung low in the sky, giving everything it shone upon a warm golden glow. Furthermore, as most of the hobbit community was too occupied prepping the most important meals of the day, the town was practically deserted.
This meant Bilbo could enjoy the beautiful sceneries in peace without having to get involved in friendly banter and polite greetings. And finally - the temperature was nor too warm or too cold, which was just perfect.
But there was nothing better than an afternoon walk in early spring. Birds were building their nest, flying past his head with twigs in their little beaks.
It reminded him of that one time a thrush had landed on Lobelia’s straw hat and had absolutely wrecked the damn thing. It took her a while to notice and Bilbo had had the greatest difficulty in keeping a straight face. She went running through the Shire afterwards, screaming about a vicious bird attack. Since that day he couldn’t help but snicker every time he saw a thrush.
Yes, Bilbo loved his walks indeed. But he loved his home just as much.
It wouldn’t be long before any respectable Hobbit started working in their garden again after the winter break and every yard and patio would get overflowed with a soft and subtly sweet flowery scent. It wasn’t any different in his garden.
The flower buds of the early bloomers were starting to show, some of them already in their lovely, bright colours. Just a few more days and he could bury his nose in the daffodils, tulips or primroses, taking in their flowery scent.  It was a moment Bilbo looked forward to every single year, but now he could finally share it with his husband Thorin.
To everyone’s surprise, this grumpy dwarf had warmed up to the art of gardening. Under Bilbo’s patient supervision, they were able to turn their neglected patch of land into the beautiful garden it was today.
Bilbo smiled to himself at the thought of his husband. He came a long way to get here... Both of them did. Literally and figuratively.
Thorin had been under a lot of stress for a long time without barely any chance to breathe: the rebuilding of Erebor, restoring trade agreements, bringing his people back to the mountain, … It never stopped and he was close to getting a burn-out.
Bilbo had seen it coming from miles away and had raised the alarm on Thorin’s health. Bilbo’s home in the Shire proved to be the perfect place to get a much needed break from ruling a Kingdom.
The mountain was in good hands with Fíli and Kíli as his advisor - Balin was still there to keep an eye on them - and the peace and quiet of the Shire was wearing off on Thorin. He was finally able to relax and enjoy the time with Bilbo.Even so, they couldn’t stay away forever and they’d made plans to return to the mountain before the annual Durin’s Day celebration.
That didn’t mean they couldn’t enjoy the time that was still left.
Bilbo continued his way on the path that would eventually lead him back to his home, he stopped when he smelled something odd. He sniffed a few times, tilting his head sideways. What in the…?
Bilbo couldn’t tell what the smell reminded him of, and yet it somehow seemed familiar. Was Lobelia trying to burn down her house again with another attempt at copying his famous rabbit stew?
The closer he got to his home, the stronger the scent became. It couldn’t come from his house now, could it? Thorin was home so nothing serious could have happened.
Bilbo’s eyes widened.
Thorin was home… alone.
“Oh dear,” he murmured.
Thorin was not yet entirely used to living like a hobbit, still adjusting to life in the Shire. The more delicate, joie-de-vivre way of life that suited the hobbits didn’t always go well with the sturdy, rather head-on approach and maybe a tad brute way of the Dwarrows. He definitely wasn’t the domestic type. Yet.
Bilbo hurried up the lane to his front yard, struggled to open the gate in his haste and made his way inside. When the door closed behind him, it felt like someone had slapped him in the face.
Oh yeah, the smell definitely came out of his house. He coughed a few times, and his eyes started to water. He completely missed the leftover trails of smoke near the ceiling, and that was maybe for the better.
“Thorin?” he squeaked between coughs. “Love?”
No answer. Was he even here? And what was that pungent smell? It almost smelled like an onion died a painful death and was left to rot! But with added spices. Now he almost wished it was Lobelia’s cooking instead...
He left the entrance hall and stepped further into their home, making his way to the study. If Thorin was home, he would probably be there. Bilbo hoped to find his other half hunched over a book, or too focused on writing a letter to his nephews to hear his calls. Not that he didn’t trust Thorin to find his way back home on his own… okay fine, maybe he didn’t.
Before he reached the study, his eye fell on the pantry. A rare curse escaped his mouth.
Empty jars, most of them tipped over, crumbs and pieces of vegetables on the ground together with a puddle of liquid that Bilbo wasn’t too keen on investigating further.
He stood frozen in the round doorway. What had happened?
Flashbacks of that one fateful night when the company had barged in - uninvited might he add - and raided his kitchen and pantry flooded his mind.
Could they...?
No, he shook his head. It was too quiet for the company to be here. Plus Thorin would have mentioned it. There were no secrets between them. Not anymore.
He crossed the hallway and entered his kitchen. Or rather, what was left of it.
If he thought his pantry was raided, it was nothing in comparison to his kitchen. There were dirty pots and pans all over the place, as if the dishes hadn’t been done in weeks. Most of the cabinets were opened, the contents of the shelves in disarray or scattered over the counter. A lot of food made it to the floor as well, and it seemed like someone had tried to clean it up by shoving it to one side of the kitchen.
It looked like Thorin had tried to make something for dinner. Or a snack maybe? At least, he hoped it was Thorin who wrecked the kitchen. Because there wasn’t a single hair on his feet that would even consider cleaning this up himself!
“Thorin, I really do love you but you got to learn to clean up after yourself,” Bilbo muttered in frustration when he picked up a dirty kitchen rag from the floor.
“I’ll keep that in mind,” a low voice sounded behind him.
Bilbo swirled around and he forgot to breathe for a second.
There, in the doorway of the dining room, stood Thorin in just his dark blue tunic and black breeches, barefoot and an apron tied around his hips. A towel carelessly thrown over his shoulder and a casserole in his hands made it look like he belonged in a kitchen. But Bilbo knew better.
The dwarf himself looked like a complete snack. If it wasn’t for the state of the kitchen and the foul smell still filling his nostrils, he would’ve jumped him without a second thought.
No, scratch the snack! His husband was a full five course meal. Bilbo took a deep breath. And by Durin’s beard, was he hungry...
Thorin lifted the pot a little. Bilbo stepped out of the way so he could pass.
“It just needs a little more time on the fire.”
It didn’t. It really, really didn’t.
That became abundantly clear when Thorin lifted the lid so he could stir in what looked like stew, and Bilbo had to grab the counter to steady himself.
Oh, well, at least now I know where that smell comes from, he thought. Breathe through your mouth, that’s the key!
“You know, if you didn’t like my cooking, you could’ve just told me,” Bilbo joked while he took the pot off the fire again in an effort to save what could be saved, but not before he put the lid back on. “I think this is done, love.”
“Are you sure?” Thorin chuckled. The sound reverberated in his chest and it made Bilbo’s stomach flip. It was one of his favourite sounds and it still did something to him every time he heard it.
“I wanted to repay you for taking such good care of me,” he said. “So I made us dinner.”
“You did?” Bilbo asked, endeared by the gesture but honestly, also a little afraid for his life by now. “Marvellous!”
“Go and take a seat at the table, I’ll be right there,” Thorin hummed and he gestured towards the dining room.
Thorin came out of the kitchen and placed the pot in the middle of the table and wiped his hands on the apron. His eyes fell on Bilbo who still stood a bit to the side.
When he entered the dining room Bilbo froze, stunned by what he saw.
Thorin had set the table beautifully and had paid extra attention to details, the way Bilbo liked. Freshly picked flowers from their garden stood proudly in a white porcelain vase, napkins neatly folded on the right side of the plate and he had used Bilbo’s mother’s pottery. He really went out of his way for this.
“Is it not to your liking?” Thorin asked, a slight tremble in his voice. “If it’s about the mess in the kitchen, I promise I’ll clean it up later.”
He was nervous, Bilbo realised when he looked at Thorin. The King under the Mountain who could face multiple armies with only twelve companions without a second thought or hint of fear was almost shaking with nerves because he had made dinner for his lover. It was adorable.
“It’s lovely, Thorin. Really, it is,” he assured him, while Thorin pulled a chair from under the table so Bilbo could sit down. “I didn’t expect it, that’s all.”
Thorin quickly made his way to the other side of the table and filled the mugs with ale and the glasses with wine. Bilbo however, eyed the food on the table cautiously.
To be fair, from a distance it looked decent. There were carrots, mashed potatoes, other vegetables that he couldn’t quite name at first sight but seemed okay, bread,… And the pot of stew. On the corner of the table stood a bowl of what he suspected was some kind of gravy, but the chunks in it made him doubtful.
He took some of everything on his plate and tried to keep it together when the aroma of the stew filled his nostrils once more.
Thorin looked at him expectantly.
The things one does for the one they love, Bilbo thought while he took a deep breath and tried the stew. Oh dear, it tasted exactly like it smelled!
He tried to swallow it as fast as he could without a lot of chewing. His hand flew to his glass of wine and with a large gulp of the red substance his food finally went down.
“Is there something wrong?”
“No! No, it’s… well, it’s a little hot,” he explained. That wasn’t exactly a lie.
He tried to find the correct words to let him know cooking maybe wasn’t his strong point, but decided to change the subject instead. “Have you heard from Fíli yet?”
Thorin shook his head.  “I did not. It hasn’t been that long since I sent my last letter. Give him some time.”
He took a sip from his glass of wine. “But tell me about your afternoon, did you enjoy your walk?”
Bilbo was relieved he could talk for a while - and avoid taking another bite - and told Thorin about his walk and how he was planning on asking old master Worrywort what he did to his wood poppies to get them so big and bright.
While he was listening intently, Thorin took a first bite of his homemade stew.
The minute he closed his mouth, his eyes widened and he almost choked on the meat. He let his fork drop on the plate with a loud clatter, a fist against his lips while he tried really hard to swallow the food.
Bilbo didn’t know whether to laugh or feel sorry for him. He decided on a neutral expression, like it was the most normal thing in the world for a person to choke on a spoonful of stew.
Thorin brought the napkin to his mouth and wiped the tears out of his eyes, still panting from the effort.
“Mahal, why didn’t you say anything?” he groaned.
Bilbo eyed him carefully, not wanting to hurt Thorin’s feelings. He worked so hard to prepare all this, well, you couldn’t exactly call it food…
“About what?” he tried, gathering his courage and taking another spoonful.
“The food! I saw you eat it!” Thorin murmured, his face distorting in absolute horror as he watched his husband trying his best to process another bite.
“Please don’t. I can’t believe you want to take another bite!”
“You made this for me, of course I’m going to eat it,” Bilbo said, smiling at him. Please don’t make me eat it again, Bilbo pleaded internally.
“To be honest, I don’t even think Bombur would touch this,” Bilbo added.
“That bad, huh?” he laughed. “Who am I kidding, of course it is, I tasted it. I still taste it!”
He took his mug of ale and chugged it down in one go. When he placed it on the table again with a thud, his expression had changed into defeat.
“I know you love your meals and this isn’t…” he rose from his chair. “This is not a meal worthy of any hobbit, let alone Bilbo Baggins.”
With the majesty only a true dwarven king can muster, Thorin strode from the dining room towards the kitchen. Bilbo shuffled in his seat, pondering what had happened before hurrying behind his One.
The sight that greeted him made his heart clench. Thorin had started cleaning up the mess, his back to the door, head low and shoulders slumped. Bilbo could see he was distraught and clearly wounded in his pride.
In a few strides Bilbo stood behind his husband and threw his arms around him, giving a little squeeze.
”Don’t you ever think what you do isn’t enough. The fact that you went through all this trouble for me, means more to me than you’ll ever know,” Bilbo mumbled into Thorin’s neck before he placed a featherlight kiss there, which elicited a groan out of the King’s chest.
Thorin turned around and wanted to return the favor, but Bilbo stopped him.
“No, no, no, Thorin. First we need to clean up this mess. I’ll help you.”
After an hour of cleaning, they sat on a spotless kitchen floor, looking over their work proudly.
“We make a great team, you and me,” Thorin said.
Bilbo rested his head on Thorin’s shoulder and sighed contentedly.
“Can you promise me one thing though?”
“What’s that?” Thorin wondered.
“Please leave the cooking to me?”
