I know there is a part where the members were asked about who they believe they share a red string with and Tae whispered to the host and even though they didn’t say it out loud, all signs pointed to it being about Jimin. It can not be just me the one who sees that the way Jimin and Taehyung look at each other is just different, full of love, the kind that has nothing to do with friendship. I don't see that nor in Taekook neither Jikook, I feel they act more like brothers and good friends. Also, I don't know about you but "soulmate" to me is something you won't tell to a friend, and even the song "Friends" doesn't speak about a friendship to me and the title seems like a way to "hide" the true meaning. Thoughts?

Well, frankly all shipper say this about their ship… And I am already biased towards Vmin and “feel” like they have something different. But that’s a very flawed kind of “proof” because it’s just biased observation as we can see by how many fans feel very different things. Everyone literally says “they are different” for various reasons about their own ship so I think that’s enough to show it doesn’t really matter much what people feel. Sorry.

But about soulmates I feel it’s kind of a big deal, and from Tae he has felt this way for a loooong time and showed how special Jimin is. Soulmates definitely can be between friends, but we do have an example where BTS talked about it as a specific romantic thing, even though it was long ago (150619 Nico Nico) They worked their way up and from 2015 and Tae speaking of Jimin being connected to him by the red string of faith, to the 2017 fansign post it and now the lyrics of Friends we have come a long way. The feelings have been the same, but they have been expressed more and more confidently until now when they have a song about it.

I think Friends is a very special song, and something we haven’t really seen from BTS before, with such obvious references to their relationship especially. And I kinda agree Friends does seem almost more like a love song if we remove the title. Especially these lines always get to me:

They point out many times how special THEY are. They use “each other’s mystery” which is just... Interesting. They talk about their past being precious and wanting to be together forever, but specifically when BTS stops. This song is a promise and a tribute and it’s very personal. If this wasn’t called Friends and between two men a lot of people might see it as romantic.

People might say “any pair in BTS could have written or sung a song like this” but fact remains that it’s been 7 years and only Vmin has. Respect could be something similar because it’s between two members, but even it’s clearly something very different.

For me Friends is a big deal, and it could hide more behind the word “Friends” or Vmin could just be very very important to each other as friends. As usual it’s Friends in combination with other things that makes me think there could be more to Vmin… It’s a lot, but on it’s own of course still not something that obvious if we consider it to portray romantic feelings.

Either way I think people need to stop dismissing Vmin’s relationship and the importance of Friends. It doesn’t even matter if it’s platonic or not, it should be enough for people to realize their bond is very special. <3
