〈演出ノート〉VIVA 女性　VIVA 男性　VIVA 人間

宇宙を見る、地球を知る、女性を見る、そして私は私を知る、るる、るるる……　- 横山剣 -

『THE DIVER』は、劇作家・野田秀樹が25年前に実際に起きた殺人事件と1,000年前に書かれた源氏物語とを織り込む形で書いた戯曲です。この戯曲は、「男」と「女」という立場や価値観が1,000年前から今の今に至るまで変わらず私たちをユルく（時には強く）縛り続けているということを暴いています（野田秀樹一流の言い方だと「紫式部の犯した罪」という）。たしかに、「男とはこうあらねばならぬ」「女とはこうあるべきだ」というような「……らしさ」のイメージは、1,000年前からあまり変わっていないように思われます。もちろん、中世の階級社会であったり近代の戦争状態だったりと取り巻く社会情勢によりビミョーに内実は変わったとしても……

この「……らしさ」という物差しで人を判断する価値観（目線とでも言ったらよいのか）や関係性は、これからも変わらずに在り続けるでしょう。しかしそれは、過去にそうであったように、これからも「……らしさ」から外れてしまった人々を苦しめ続けもするでしょう……

この戯曲に登場する女性は、おそらく「……らしさ」に憧れながら、「こうあるべき」という姿になれなかったように思えます。そして悩み、苦しみ、傷つき、罪を犯した。

そのような女性の魂に安らぎを与えるために、そして今も悩み苦しんでいる女性の、男性の、人間の魂にも安らぎを与えるために、この演劇が何かしらの力になることを願っています。
