Hello my absolutely wonderful pocket friends!

I just finished spending 5+ hours putting all of my fills from this year's 3SF on AO3. I wrote something like five times more than I did last year. Here's the link to the series:

Prompt: Any, Any OT3, spoon, fork, and knife

"Are you a fork or a spoon?" Erwin raised his eyebrow, wondering if this was some kind of weird Eren thing, or that he was truly out of touch with today’s youth; one can never tell with Eren.

"I'm taking this online quiz and there's this question about who in your friend group corresponds to various things; this question is about kitchen utensils," Eren explained.

Ah, so it's both, Erwin thought, while Eren continued talking, "I think that regardless of who is the fork or who is the spoon between us two, Levi is the knife."

"More like a sword," Erwin said.  Levi, who was making tea in the kitchen heard them and rolled his eyes.

She appeared in the back of the police transport van and regarded the old man on the opposite bench, his hair mussed and jaw slack, eyes vacant and staring off into the distance.

“Did you believe I would set you free if you could not remember our bargain, Mr. Maverick?” Verna asked, unseen and unheard by the guards in the van with them. “Or did the true weight of your crimes catch up with you before I did?”

Fandom Year in Review (2023)

It's the very last day of 2023, which means it's time for my annual look back and some number-crunching with my AO3 stats and writing over the year!

(Before I get to setting next year's goals and back to writing before midnight, of course! ;))

I posted 142 new stories to AO3 this year!

Fewer than last year but still quite a respectable number (especially given I dropped off posting every single day after October this year - I kept it up for 1,675 days straight, or 55 complete months!).

Those stories were in 33 fandoms, 14 of them new, and featured 43 ships (not counting gen relationships), 18 of them new!

I posted a total of 319,688 words to AO3 this year!

Of course as always I have many things in the works (a moon-cycle-related project for all of 2024, my upcoming 7th year of doing my Valentine's Spectacular, a dark and twisty longfic. . .) and I'll be back soon! Maybe even with a new story tomorrow? We'll see!

The Jabberwocky, but it's a Horrible Goose

‘Twas brillig, and the palmate feet Did slap and plap upon the road; Loud honking came out naturally, The white goose braz'nly strode. “Beware the horrible goose, my man! The beak that bites, the wings that flap! Beware that fucking bird, and shun its pilfering ransack!" He put his flatcap on his head: For long within the garden moiled– So, outwards hence, to sit on bench, The gate open to his toil. A moment of peace he thought he had, But, klepto-beak, the white goose flew Honking flaps up from soggy path, Its bell-passion made anew! One two! One two! And out and round He chased it hard and it chased back! Rake was plundered, he felt outnumbered and even lost his snacks. “What is up with this bloody bird? I'm out of wits, I've smashed my thumb! 3 Sentence Ficathon 2023

Here is a belated roundup post for this year’s 3 Sentence Ficathon bc all of my fics are finally transferred to AO3!

I challenged myself this year to write at least one fill a day until the ficathon was over, and I was able to make that challenge! For the purposes of my personal challenge, I considered “each day” to end whenever I went to sleep, not the actual calendar day, so the dates on the Dreamwidth posts don’t necessarily reflect the day I counted them as.

Here’s a few stats:

I wrote 43 works for a total of 5,049 words

These works featured 14 fandoms, half of which I hadn’t written for in the past.

The most fills I wrote in one day was four, which happened twice. Most days I only wrote one.

The main thing I did differently than last year was to crosspost the fills to AO3 as individual fics instead of posting them as oneshot collections. I made that decision for a couple of reasons, mostly because 1) last year part of the reason the fills didn’t get posted in a timely fashion is because I wasn’t sure whether the fandom deserved its own collection until the ficathon was over and 2) I read some posts on tumblr about how fic collections can lead to readers filtering out tags for one chapter and therefore missing a chapter they would have been interested in. I think it worked pretty well for me, although it meant that I had to come up with titles for each fic, plus this year’s ficathon now accounts for almost half of my fics on AO3!

Drinks

Erwin needs a pot of black coffee every morning to function; otherwise, he is prone to pass out while working, either that or snap people's head off.

Levi needs a pot of fancy tea every evening to sleep, weirdly enough caffeine has no effect on him, however drinking tea before bed became a part of his sleep hygiene ritual.

Eren drinks a lot of soda, an unhealthy habit for sure, but for some reason he never gets cavities or gains weight; this fact makes his lovers exasperated, but since he doesn't smoke like the either of them, he is entitled to his vices.
