For the Tumblrinas in the US:

On October 4th there will be a nationwide FEMA alert sent out. This will just be a test notification for the emergency system. If you are in a situation where you are hiding a secondary electronic for whatever reason (DV, DA, etc), power it off completely or even drain the battery before that date. The alert will make noise and vibration, which you will not want. There is no way to block or silence the alert otherwise. The alert will most likely last for a full minute while the government does stuff with it.

You’ll note my use of secondary ‘electronic’. If all goes to plan this alert should be going to all electronics, not just cellphones. This will include the following: Phones (not just the cellular type) Radios TVs

If you’re not a fan of your TV suddenly switching to the EAS screen without any real emergency, switch off/unplug all of the following before testing time, which will be around 2:30 EST (10:30 AKT, 1:30 CST, 12:30 MST, and 11:30 PST)

I border a land that's a total mess,

But chaos there is different from my distress.

You live in a land where you can still be,

To talk and to worship, just live and be free.

So while my U.S.ian friends eat cake,

I'll watch your fireworks from across the lake.

i can't fucking believe that no one is talking about not like us music video like oh my fucking god kendrick's body language vs the exuberance and joy of the city around him. the drake pinata. the caged owl at the end. kendrick's wife and kids dancing in their living room w/ kendrick on the couch. the way he doesn't make eye contact w/ the camera until the end when they go back to the room where everything is in red white and blue. guys it goes so fucking hard.

i think the belchers are canonically white?? just judging based off their family history (specifically linda's but also bob's mom maybe) but i like the headcanon that they're half japanese it just makes sense in my head. like why are they the only white people with black hair on this gd show Also they're definitely 100% jewish they dont celebrate religious holidays or anything and they celebrate culturally christian holidays like christmas bcuz its just easier for everyone but like definitely jewish ancestry (esp bob's mom im not explaining this trust me) also makes sense bcuz jewish people tend to have darker/curlier hair than other white ethnic groups

The goings on at the center of All Minds Burn are giving me some Warframe vibes and I like it.

The suspended skeletons bring to mind what happens when you subsume one of your Warframes and the description of the mass closer to the end of the scene fits the stuff growing on Deimos.

There's probably some mutual inspiration here between certain John Carpenter movies, Stargate, and the Alien franchise, etc. but that first part of the scene immediately reminded me of the Helminth.
