Two Aussies at the Tree Farm It was warm, it was wet, it was icy, it was sloppy. But, damn it was a lot of fun running around the Tree Farm with these two goofballs, Cooper & Otis. We got a great mix of posed and action shots thanks to some wonderful training and handling by their humans. Sal (one of their peoples) received a Gift Certificate from the rest of the staff at @eatlocalpizza for xmas, which means $25 from this shoot goes the Tuff Scruff $5fur5 initiative. $5 dollars each for 5 different animal welfare/rescue organizations in NWO. I'm very excited to announce the Tuff Scruff $5fur5 Initiative! As with every other sector, the pandemic has had a massive financial impact on Animal Welfare & Rescue Organizations across Northwestern Ontario. Unable to hold in-person fundraising events (which traditionally generate a very large portion of their funding for vet bills and operational costs), most have taken their fundraising ‘virtual’ to try and make up for the shortfall. Since starting Tuff Scruff (which was initially conceived as a showcase of shelter/rescue animals to help them get adopted; hence the name), I have done my best to try and help animal welfare organizations through mini-session fundraisers, volunteering and, well, however else I can. It has now been a year since we’ve been able to gather for traditional fundraising events and it will likely be a while still before we are able to, or feel comfortable, gathering in large groups. So in lieu of this, I’ve created the $5fur5 Initiative. For every Tuff Scruff “Long Leash” Session (or equivalent Gift Certificate) purchased in 2021, I will be donating $25 ($5 each) to 5 local animal organizations.
