The first Monday of November is Color the World Orange Day, on November 7 this year. This day is dedicated to creating awareness for an illness that is still poorly misunderstood, providing support to those affected, and educating the world about its existence.

History of Color the World Orange Day

Color the World Orange Day stands at the front of creating awareness and educating the larger population about a rare condition, but not uncommon, primarily among society’s middle-aged members of society. On this day, the medical profession stands with the people affected, and the day pushes the whole world to understand, sympathize, and take action where possible.

Complex Regional Pain Syndrome, also classified as Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (RSD), is a neurological discomfort that includes heightened nerve impulses in a specific body site. Medical specialists speculate that the condition is a result of a dysfunction in the central nervous system. An injury to the leg or hand can also bring on the syndrome. A triggering of the immune response can cause injury-related CRPS, which may lead to symptoms such as redness and swelling in the affected area. It is thus believed that this may represent a disruption of the healing process.

In history, several medical bodies and independent doctors have tasked themselves with understanding the causes and treatment for this syndrome. Presently, there is no cure for this disorder, so the goal is to relieve painful symptoms associated with the disorder. Methods include psychotherapy, physical therapy, and drug treatment.

Is CRPS a lifelong impairment?

Complex Regional Pain Syndrome currently has no cure. Still, with the right medication and counseling, most patients experience improved symptoms and better conditions. However, in some patients, the symptoms can last for years and even get worse.

What causes CRPS?

This syndrome is still being researched as it is uncommon. The major stressors are injury, surgery, heart attack, or a stroke, and the major symptoms are swelling of the arm or leg.

Will CRPS spread to other parts of the body?

It is common for the swelling and pain to transfer to other body parts but usually to nearby areas. For example, CRPS on the arm can spread to the hand or shoulders.

Hermes began tugging on Joel’s arm as the small family flew over the muted browns and oranges of the mesa.

“What’s up, bud?” Joel asked, looking down at his son, who was strapped to his chest.

“Oh, I bet he wants to go see his favorite toy!” Sausage said, swooping over so he was in earshot of the god.

“We’re supposed to meet Lizzie at noon…” Joel muttered, looking up at the sun, then back down at Hermes. “Oh, fine, but not for too long, okay?”

Hermes smiled a huge smile, and Joel smiled back, despite himself. Sausage lead the way down, and they landed on the dirt and sand that made up Jimmy’s empire. Sausage helped Joel unbuckle Hermes from the baby carrier, then, each man taking one of Hermes’ little hands, walked to the jail, where the Sheriff Jimmy often worked.

“Hello? Is the maker of laws around?” Sausage called.

“Oi, idiot toy! Someone wants to say hi to you!” Joel shouted, sticking his tongue out at Hermes. Hermes giggled.

Jimmy came barreling out of the jailhouse, hat askew and lasso at the ready. “JOEL! I am not a toy! What is this invasion happening right now, huh?” He stopped in front of them and gave Hermes a mere glance before glaring at Joel and Sausage. “I am quite a busy man, you see, a man, mind you, NOT a toy, and do not have the time to entertain children… and Hermes.”

Joel rolled his eyes. “You are so annoying.” He snapped his fingers, and with a poof, Jimmy the Sheriff froze in place, and a plastic-y glaze oozed all over his body. With a final ding, a coin slot appeared right where his belly button would be. “Okay, you can have five tokens, go play with the sheriff.” Joel leaned down and held out some golden coins to Hermes, who jumped up and down in excitement before taking them and running over to his favorite toy.

“Do you ever feel guilty about this?” Sausage asked Joel as they watched Hermes insert a coin into the slot.

“Howdy partner, I’m the Sheriff!” Jimmy, or the doll animatronic thing of Jimmy, moved its arms and legs as it spoke. Hermes squealed in delight.

“No. Why would I, I’m a god. I should be turning more people into plastic toys for my son, frankly.” Joel replied, clearing his throat and looking away from Sausage’s eyes.

“I mean, it is funny to watch Jimmy get angry after you unfreeze him, but sometimes I have to wonder… is he getting more toy-like? I swear he doesn’t blink anymore.” Sausage murmured. “Maybe its just the mesa heat getting to me.”

“Maybe.” Joel replied. “Who cares, though. As long as my son is happy.” He pushed down that sinking feeling that Sausage may be right, and smiled when Hermes looked their way. As long as Hermes was happy, Joel tried not to care.

Filming has commenced in Leeds and Belgium on the six-parter from Professor T producer Eagle Eye Drama, which follows Tomlinson’s Evie and Pete (Harry Potter star Alfred Enoch), who move into an upscale neighborhood and find themselves in a world of curtain twitching and status anxiety. They find friendship in the shape of the couple next door, alpha traffic cop Danny (Heughan) and his wife, glamorous yoga instructor Becka (Jessica De Gouw), but after Danny and Evie share a passionate night together, there is trouble ahead.

The U.S. streamer and UK network, who never have co-produced together, described The Couple Next Door as a “psychological drama, exploring the stultifying claustrophobia of suburbia and the fallout of chasing your darkest desires.”

Tomlinson is best known for playing Demelza Poldark opposite Aidan Turner across five seasons of hit BBC drama Poldark. Other credits include Stephen Merchant comedy-drama The Outlaws and Netflix’s upcoming adaptation of David Nicholls’ One Day.

Scottish actor Heughan is gearing up for a seventh season of Starz hit Outlander, in which he plays Jamie Fraser, while he is also starring in Priyanka Chopra Jonas rom-com Love Again with Celine Dion – set for May release. He generated headlines recently when his memoir revealed how a brutal rape scene in Outlander Season 1 had impacted him negatively.

Marcella writer David Allison is penning The Couple Next Door, Professor T‘s Dries Vos is directing, and EPs are Jo McGrath, Walter Iuzzolino and Alison Kee.

The thriller is based on Dutch series New Neighbours and feeds into Eagle Eye’s strategy of turning European hits into shows for the major English-language markets, following Channel 4’s Suspect, which is based on a Danish series, and ITV’s Professor T, which is based on a show from Belgium.

The show was commissioned by Channel 4’s Caroline Hollick and Rebecca Holdsworth. EVP Programming Karen Bailey is overseeing The Couple Next Door for Starz, and it will be distributed by Beta Film.
