Finally getting to my thoughts on the heart killers episode 1 and honestly it was better than I expected. Maybe it's because I didn't have many expectations to begin with. As long as I have my beloved joongdunk on my screen together I am a happy woman. But this episode was so fun and interesting and I am so excited for what's to come. I have so much I want to talk about so I think I'm going to make separate posts about each of them. Yes I am writing 10 different essays at the same time just like I did with bbs and that is a good thing. It means I am excited about the show itself and not just the actors. It was more than an hour long episode (I love that it was so long) and I enjoyed every moment of it.
I love the pacing of this episode too. It's not rushed at all, yet it's jam packed and doesn't waste time on unnecessary things. Except the burger mukbangs by First. Why was there an asmr burger mukbang not once but twice in this episode? I mean I don't mind but the question remains. This was the one thing that totally threw me off guard. Again I am not upset about it at all but I can't stop thinking why this decision was made? Is it because everyone in that production team loves watching First eat? Actually, that is quite a reasonable speculation. Yes I dedicated an entire paragraph to First's mukbangs because I really can't stop thinking about it.
I am so so glad my beloved joongdunk got the opportunity to be part of a production like this. This is so different from their previous projects and I can already see that they got the chance to explore as actors in ways they couldn't before. And I love that for them. My joongdunk heart is happy and content.
Also have to mention I love firstkhao in this too. I may focus more on joongdunk because I am a hardcore joongdunk simp but I really do appreciate all the other people involved in this project as well. Everyone put a lot of love and effort into this show and I appreciate that.
I don't know how this series will turn out in the future. But I already know I am going to love it. It has everything I enjoy- a fun story, interesting characters and character dynamics, fun lighting choices that contribute to the storytelling, music that sets the tone of the scenes, my favorite kind of pacing, good actors, good production and most importantly my beloved joongdunk. Thank you so much Jojo for bringing this show to life. I am eagerly anticipating what's to come and I am having a blast along the way.
The fact that we are going to get most of the scenes from the trailer and the bts photos in the first 2 episodes already is so exciting to me as well. This means we have no idea what will happen after ep 3. And that is so fun and exciting. I love that they did that. It makes me anticipate what's to come even more. Jojo, I love you, I really do. This show of yours is right up my alley.
Fun fact about me that nobody asked for: I have not seen 10 things I hate about you. Which is actually pretty weird because I have seen most romcoms from that time period, some even less popular than this one. I don't know why or how I missed it. I also refuse to read Shakespeare for very petty reasons. So yeah, I really have no idea what to expect from thk. But that makes it extra fun for me.
#the heart killers#thk#ep1#i love this show already#i wanted to start ranting about it last night when i watched it#but i was too busy tutoring my cousin on maths for her exam today#yes i watched the episode in the middle of teaching maths#that is my level of dedication for joongdunk#i watched it while she was practicing tge problems by herself#so i watched it in parts#also i ended up with a masive headache last night#so i just fell asleep after we were done fighting with the math problems instead of rewatching the episode#now that i am well rested and also had some time to process i can't wait to rewatch it today#i am so going to write 50 different essays on this show#i love you jojo i will forever be thankful to you for this series#also i totally see the romcom aspect of it now#also thk doesn't seem to have any sponsers? right? this means no product placement right?

love when this is referred to as the gifted kid website. shockingly my mental disorders made me mentally disordered and school never really vibed with that so. couldn’t be me
#ppl always talking about their whatever grade reading level and how many books they’d read as kids and im just over here like🧍🏽#I’ve never been actually bad at english or reading but I couldn’t focus on reading books to save my fucking life#I hated those sheets where you had to read like a certain number of books or whatever over the course of a semester or the year or whatever#my GATE test scores for english were super high but my math was bad enough that I never qualified#and adhd made me not even perform well in English half the time because I couldn’t pay attention I couldn’t read long books I couldn’t turn#in my assignments or if I did they were late and etc etc etc#don’t get me started with math#I was the worst in my class in third grade at minute math and never made it to the levels of minute math my classmates did#(they posted results on the wall for everyone to see)#and in 6th grade I was put into an additional remedial math class#throughout middle-high school I was at the level of most classmates in terms of the classes I took but that’s only because I was not allowe#to fail and was put through absolute fucking hell with a billion tutors and grueling hours of extra work from them and blah blah blah#like I remember how I felt in those tutoring sessions and half the time I actually wanted to cry.#I didn’t start doing solidly genuinely Good in school until senior year of high school.#not coincidentally around the same time I started taking adderall I think#I had accommodations by 9th grade but they didn’t do that much except for the function that let me turn in assignments up to 2 days late#without penalty. which i had teachers question sometimes and i had to pull the Yeah it’s Literally Against The Law to not allow me this car#anyway. point is. i was never in the gate program and most of my friends were and it was mostly adhd related#adhd is considered such a quirky nothing disorder nowadays that I don’t even like mentioning I have it really. because what people think of#when I say the term is Not what i actually dealt with and made school torturous and made my parents lash out at me for things and etc etc#depression and dysphoria did not help either. but I digress#I’m not sure why im making this post#kibumblabs

lads it's so fucking frustrating when you desperately want to learn and understand something but u just can't fucking get ir
#because of various reasons I've accidentally skipped up a level in physics#so im learning calc based physics instead of basic physics#which is fine except the physics I'm currently taking expects me to have already taken basic phsyics and so im just confused and behind#this is like calc 2 all over again#but ten times worse because since it's a summer class im learning way more stuff at a way quicker rate#and i can't even go to the tutoring center bc again. summer school. it's not even open#im so stressed I barely understand how to solve these and i don't have anyone I can ask#and we have a test on Monday and i have a bad feeling about it#it's not even difficult math it's basic algebra we haven't even gotten to the calc yet#turns out not solving word problems for 3 years severely hinders your ability to solve word problems#and i also just cannot fuckin focus at all and it's frustrating#this homework is due tomorrow and im tired and wanna go to bed but none of it is done#lilac post#if this doesn't work out idk wtf else to do im hinging all my hopes on this

we teach science the way science itself intends to be learned. memorization of facts to build on with experiments and lots of metaphors or games to make the processes make sense.
we don’t teach history the way it demands to be taught. Memorize This Date and the Names of the White Men Who Made Choices Based on the Will of God.” lots of facts and maps.
but history wants to be taught like reading a good fantasy novel. here’s a map so you know where-ish it happened and can flip to the front for reference. here it our world building- our characters and their intents, motivations, history that contextualizes these things and current dialogue to understand their personality. Show Instead of Tell. background and buildup before action. the way things are handled after the main conflict. then, last, how does this apply to our world now?
so I guess actually both science and social studies want to be taught through basic memorized knowledge but then STORIES that make it make sense. then applying stores to real life.

#lame teacher rant#I teach 7th grade science#plus tutored high level science all through college#but anyway#teaching needs to tell more stories in all subjects#works for math too#forgot I intensively tutored math for 3 years
