More Art Magic Ideas🎨🕯️
Draw or paint using your non-dominant hand to bring out your inner child
Create a mini oracle set out of bottlecaps or coins
Write odes to the tools, herbs, etc. that you use the most in your craft
Use only natural materials in a work of art- tea, coffee, dirt, plant parts, etc.
Decorate playing cards to act as talismans and keep in your pocket/wallet/bag (i.e. a money drawing card to keep in your wallet)
Bring your inner sacred space to life by drawing/painting/collaging/sculpting it
Use handmade images as offerings to spirits or deities; create personalized images of spirits or deities you're in contact with
Make a poppet of yourself and stuff it with petitions or pictograms of what you wish to embody
Create a powerful protection amulet to hang above the doorway of your home/sacred space. What does protection look like to you? Use materials that reflect the kind of protection that you're looking for.
Crochet or knit a blanket that is enchanted to bring good sleep, good dreams, or for inducing a hypnagogic state

Small Art Magick things I do 🎨
Digital art edition (with some that can apply to traditional art as well!)
Drawing sigils in unseen layers (I either add another layer above them or lower their opacity, never completely deactivate the enchanted layers)
Drawing animals, plants or symbols associated with deities
Drawing deities in my style
Creating a digital altar. I do one layer for each object on the altar, and change/remove/replace them whenever needed
Creating illustrations for my grimoire or book of shadow. I then recreate or print them in my "physical grimoire", or use them in a digital one
Creating illustrated recipes for some kitchen magic or spells
Creating some kinds of "mandalas", using specific colours and symboles depending on my intentions. This one is also very soothing and I also just do it as way to meditate
✩₊˚.⋆☾⋆⁺₊
Meditating before drawing/while taking breaks to focus more easily
Having my "creativity jar spell" next to me
Using a pencil case of a specific colour to set my intentions more clearly
Lighting a candle while drawing, either one with a certain colour or a certain scent
Putting on music while drawing (a playlist for the mood I'm in/want to get into, or for the mood of my illustration...), or sometimes just ambiance sound videos

I like to think “wildflower” doesn’t just refer to the plants that grow naturally, but also describes their disposition-they don’t just grow in the wild, they grow *wildly*
🌼 Undomesticated AND unruly.

🌼🧚🌼🌼What’s your favorite “wildflower?”

Be spontaneous with your craft.
Create new symbols and meanings and use them.
Tie countless knots into a ribbon endlessly and then decide its magic after the fact.
Make friendship bracelets and trinkets for no reason than to just feel closer to your magic.
Lay in the grass. Run around. Take pictures. Whatever your heart desires.
It's not always about following some pile of reregulations. It's about keeping your soul alive.

Recite chants/prayers/affirmations (intention) as you work
Experiment using herbs, resins, teas, etc. to make magical pigments

Create a portrait of your shadow self, or your witch/wizard/whatever-sona
Compile or record different playlists for different spell 'genres', meditation, and "vision board-ing"
Create your own recycled handmade enchanted paper for petitions
Protect your spells by documenting them in pictograms- use only images to portray the process

I don't know who needs to hear this but writing is one hundred percent a type of art magick! I see these grimoires full of gorgeous sketches and canvases with breathtaking oil paintings and I only WISH I were talented in that way, but writing is just as valid! Write a sonnet for a love spell! Write a short story that doubles as a hypersigil! Even journaling can count as magick: reflection, shadow works, recording your dreams... and it works even better when you use different colored pens or even some corresponding ephemera!
I love the art witch community I just wish writers got a little more love!

Listen. Listen. Hexadecimal code sigil work. Well, maybe it's more like a cousin of sigils. But like, hex codes. They're made up of letters and numbers, right? So you can code a message into them, and then use it in witchcraft. It's a bit like typical color magic, but more intentional.
As an example, say I want a color for protection. First I'll reduce it to protec. P is the sixteenth letter, and so I further reduce it by adding 1 and 6 to get 7. I do the same for all of the letters through T. So P = 7, R = 9, O = 6, and T = 2. Since E and C can both be used in hex codes, I leave them as letters. The result is #7962ec, which is this color:
Tumblr media
Which is a nice enough color, but say I think it's not quite right for the protection spell I had in mind. So instead of using protec, I'll instead use Castle, and using a similar method to what I've described above, I get #ca123e, which looks like this:
Tumblr media
Now that's a nice bold color, and since it's a red, I can use it as a way to say KEEP OUT. Or something.
The beauty of it is that while there are a finite number of potential colors/shades, for my puny human brain it's effectively infinite, and there's a significantly large number of different combinations I can try to get just the right shade for my intention.
In my opinion this would be best applied to digital witchcraft, but using a platform like Canva I can still design wards, sigils, etc. online and then print them out for real-world use.
So yeah. Hex code magic.
