Stupid dooshbeeg snails (affectionately) don’t leave their two weak friends anything to eat so now I have to put them in quarantine until they’ve consumed their food in peace
Euthanized my last two snails. They were doing okay, but they weren't thriving, like when they were young, and I don't feel like I've been providing well enough for them in their old age. Better to end everything before they start declining. Goodbye, Draco and Clarabella. You've been good.
Recently, almost every time I look at my snails I think "they're so big now!" and I think it's because they've now hit the point where they're noticeably larger than a fully grown garden snail, so I'm not used to seeing snails that big. They will get a LOT bigger though!
Snails hibernate?? Do they just retreat into their shells for the winter? I had no idea!
Yeah! It's in their genetics. Where they originate from it's very hot and dry around this time, so once mine reached 1 year of age, they retreated into their shells and keep themselves safe and moist with a thick, hard layer of mucus.
The baby is still out and active, so luckily I have a little bit of cleaning and feeding to do from time to time x'D
