Sitting on the banks of the Ganges and writing letters to the person I love the most has always been my favorite solace. In a world full of video calls, snaps, and reels, I still choose pen and paper to describe my love for him. 'Letters' have been termed as 'old school love' now, whereas online dates are the 'new trend.' There is something about writing letters to your lover; expressing love through written words is a little bundle of joy because some words are better written than said.My ink falls short while writing to him. I run out of vocabulary to describe my love for him. To me, you, my love, are what I have been waiting for all these years. I always love more and hardest, they say. Yes, I do, in a world where love is another fashion statement. Can I just call you? Because I like to hear your voice. The old 'chaa adda' on the tea stall with Kishor, Manna Dey, or Lata Mangeshkar's song playing on the stereo has been replaced by expensive coffee mugs and coffee places. Wasn't what we call 'old school love' now considered the perfect way to spend time with your loved ones a decade ago, maybe? The internet is a threat to our generation. It's all about visiting places that look internet-worthy, but is it so? We are all lost in translation, getting our social media famous. But have we ever thought about visiting bookstores, listening to Pink Floyd, Lana Del Rey, Led Zeppelin, shopping at Esplanade, sitting at the bank of the Ganges, watching a film at Nandan, watching sunsets together? But to me, you, my love, are a melody one cannot get rid of.
