FOM BLOG: MY THOUGHTS ON CARLISLE UNITED 1-0 GILLINGHAM - LEAGUE TWO - 2022 / 2023 SEASON
My Thoughts On Carlisle United 1-0 Gillingham - League Two - 2022 / 2023 Season
Gillingham have played eight competitive matches this season, and Gillingham have failed to score in six of those matches (AFC Wimbledon, Tranmere Rovers, Harrogate Town, Walsall, Exeter City and Carlisle United) and Gillingham have scored just one goal in six league games, which was Scott Kashket’s goal against Rochdale, who are bottom of League Two, And Jordan Green and Mikael Mandron were on the score-sheet when Gillingham won 2-0 against AFC Wimbledon In The First Round Of The League Cup.
Against Walsall and Exeter City, Neil Harris has switched to five at the back because Gillingham had conceded five goals against Tranmere Rovers and Harrogate Town, And Gillingham drew 0-0 against Walsall and could have won late on when Lewis Walker’s effort on goal hit the inside of the post and somehow stayed out, and Gillingham won 6-5 on penalties against Exeter City, a result which see’s Gillingham travel to Brentford In The Third Round Of The League Cup, and with back to back clean sheets, and Gillingham winning on penalties against Exeter City, there was hope that Gillingham have turned things around slowly, and a win against Carlisle United would be a good end to the week and Gillingham can start to climb up The League Two Table.
But losing 1-0 against Carlisle United means that Gillingham have won one, drawn one and lost four of our opening six league matches in League Two, Gillingham are twenty first in The League Two Table, and so early on into this season, there is already concerns amongst supporters that Gillingham are looking over there shoulders at another relegation battle, and we should not be thinking about relegation into The Conference National so early on into this season, but just look at the list of teams who are playing in The Conference National, Southend United, Notts County, Chesterfield, Scunthorpe United, Wrexham, Dagenham & Redbridge, York City, Yeovil Town, and Barnet, all are former Football League Sides playing in the fifth tier, Oldham Athletic have changed owner’s and are getting close to 9,000 attendances at Boundary Park, Notts County, Southend United, Wrexham and Chesterfield also get very good attendances, and The Conference National is so difficult to get out of with one team promoted automatically, and a second team gets promoted through the playoffs.
But we are looking over our shoulders at the relegation zone because Gillingham cannot score goals, and Gillingham have got to sign a striker before the transfer window closes, Tom Elliott, Paul McCallum and Josh Parker, have all been mentioned as potential transfer targets, maybe there is someone else Gillingham are looking to sign to strengthen our attacking options as well, but whoever Gillingham are looking to sign, it has to be a first choice signing, not someone signed purely for squad depth, obviously, we take the latter option over signing no-one, But Gillingham have got to sign someone who the supporters will look at instantly as a proven goal-scorer and someone who will greatly strengthen Gillingham’s Attacking Options.
Now Lewis Walker and Scott Kashket both came on and they both made an impact from the substitutes bench, Because Mikael Mandron really did struggle against Carlisle United, he was not winning the aerial battles, the ball was not sticking up top so that Jordan Green and Hakeeb Adelakun could spin in and behind and cause Carlisle United Problems with there pace, where as Scott Kashket and Lewis Walker showed effort, energy and endeavour when they came on, But Lewis Walker had to hit the target with that header from Will Wright’s Cross in the second half, and for me and many other Gillingham Supporters, Lewis Walker Is A Twenty Four Year Old Striker with the game-time and experience of a twenty one / twenty two year old, Lewis Walker is behind in his development and needs a lot of work on the training ground for Walker to improve as a player, especially considering that Lewis Walker has been playing in Serie C and Serie D In Italy, And Lewis Walker has to readjust to life in the lower league’s of English Football.
It has to be noted that Mikael Mandron was isolated at times with Gillingham lining up with a 3-4-3 formation with Jordan Green and Hakeeb Adelakun both playing out-wide and Mikael Mandron didn’t always have the service or support, but it is also two matches in a row against Walsall and Carlisle United where Mikael Mandron has struggled and has had to be substituted, and Scott Kashket and Lewis Walker will most likely start for Gillingham against Charlton Athletic On Wednesday Night In The Football League Trophy, But On Thursday, Gillingham have got to sign a striker on Deadline Day, without signing another striker, we should be very concerned about the rest of this season, especially as Gillingham are already carrying a small first team squad so far this season, and Gillingham have got to sign more players to strengthen the squad, But against Swindon Town Next Week, I think Mikael Mandron should be dropped to the bench, maybe freshen things up and try different personal in attack for Gillingham to get themselves on the score-sheet on a more regular basis.
Gillingham also can do with signing a senior first choice centre back, someone like A Adam Barrett, Gabriel Zakuani, or Chris Hope, A Experienced No Nonsense Centre Back who can lead Gillingham from the back, and more importantly, allow Neil Harris to line up with the back four that Neil Harris clearly wanted to line up with for this season, Because Neil Harris clearly was forced to line up with a back five last season because Gillingham were conceding goals left, right and centre and we had no pace in attack, and a lot of central midfielders, and Neil Harris just had to make do with the players he had in the squad last season, this season, Neil Harris clearly wanted to line up with a back four, but with the goals Gillingham were conceding against Tranmere Rovers and Harrogate Town, Neil Harris has switched to a back five, and back to back clean sheets against Walsall and Exeter City were small steps in the right direction before Saturday’s Disappointing Defeat Against Carlisle United.
David Tutonda should have been sent off against Carlisle United in the second half and was lucky to stay on the pitch, and Ryan Law was quickly subbed on for David Tutonda Because Neil Harris knew straight away that David Tutonda should have been sent off, David Tutonda is much better as a wing back then full back, But Ryan Law has not got enough pace to take on a player and whip in a cross, I know Plymouth Argyle Supporters do rate Ryan Law very highly, But we just to hope that Ryan Law is a player who will develop as the season progresses.
And looking at the squad as a whole, I predicted Gillingham to finish this season in League Two with seventy points, I thought with Neil Harris as manager and with Gillingham looking to strengthen the squad during the season and with no Transfer Embargo this season as well, Gillingham will look to stabilise this season and finish the season with a respectable league position for our first season in League Two, However, The CCJ is another problem for Gillingham off the pitch, relegation into League Two has clearly cost Gillingham financially, and without home matches against the likes of Portsmouth, Sunderland, Sheffield Wednesday, Ipswich Town, Rotherham United, Oxford United, Bolton Wanderers and Charlton Athletic, the away end for the most part is going to be empty this season, look at the attendance at Priestfield Stadium for Gillingham V Walsall -  3,917 (333 away fans). - That means that there were less then 3,600 Gillingham Supporters Inside Priestfield Stadium For A Saturday Home League Game. (The train strike has to be mentioned though, which did clearly have a impact, but a attendance under 4,000 for A Saturday League Game is still very worrying).
And with Gillingham not scoring goals, not winning games of football, not having the strongest of squads to challenge for promotion or a playoff push, then supporters are not going to be in a rush to buy tickets for home league games, and even if Gillingham had won all six league games this season, with The The Ticket Office only open on Friday’s and match-days, the stadium is cashless, there have been problems with food and drink sold inside the stadium, there is no fifty / fifty match-day lottery, there are no programme sellers, there are no ball boys, no half time penalty shoot-out and the club shop is closed, the match-day experience at Priestfield Stadium is poor and we are turning hundreds - maybe even a few thousand - supporters away from the football club altogether.
That’s why Kent Non League Sides like Sheppey United, Folkestone Invicta, Chatham Town, Margate, Ramsgate, Bromley, Ebbsfleet United, Dartford, Dover Athletic, Tonbridge Angels and Welling United have seen there attendances on the rise, you can pay on the day with cash on the turnstiles, you can buy a match-day programme, food and drink and go into the club shop with little difficulty, and because supporters can move around the ground at local non league clubs, the match-day experience is much better then what we are experiencing at Priestfield Stadium, and also, these clubs are going into this season with hope and optimism that they can achieve something this season, where as I don’t see Gillingham pushing for promotion, and also, if we cannot open The Ticket Office, Club Shop or sell food and drink, which are the necessities of every football club, then how can Gillingham solve some of the more complex problems which require a lot of thought and time to implement ???
Back In The Summer, Neil Harris spoke about how League Two is a physical league, and he was looking to add pace, physicality and power to Gillingham’s Squad over the summer, and because Alex MacDonald, Max Ehmer, David Tutonda, Olly Lee and Ben Reeves are still contracted at the football club and all five are probably on decent wages and Neil Harris probably wanted to get rid of all five players mentioned to free up wages to sign the players he wanted to sign during the off season, I do think that Gillingham have missed out on signing players like Chris Gunter, Alex Pearce, Aaron Pierre, and Stevenage have also signed Danny Rose, I am not suggesting that Gillingham would have signed all four players suggested, But Neil Harris clearly had a thought process in mind, he wanted to line up with a back four, Harris was talking about pace, physicality and power, which suggested a direct back to front style of play.
Now maybe Neil Harris and Director Of Football Development Nicky Shorey had plenty of targets in mind, but because Gillingham have had to build a entire first team squad from scratch - which is now the fourth consecutive season which Gillingham have had to completely re-build the first team squad -  and Gillingham are preparing for this season in League Two, it means that transfer targets who would have signed for Gillingham a year ago would not sign for Gillingham now, and maybe Neil Harris and Nicky Shorey were working with Budget A in mind, but when the playing budget was likely cut to Budget B, it meant that Gillingham were looking at different options in the transfer market, and we also have players still contracted this season who are on League One Wages In League Two.
Will Wright, Shaun Williams and Dominic Jefferies were Gillingham’s first three signings, all players had worn the captain’s armband and the leadership qualities of all three players was mentioned as admirable attributes by Neil Harris, Ashley Maynard-Brewer and Jake Turner were both signed to be Gillingham’s First and Second Choice Goalkeepers, and when Ashley Maynard-Brewer dislocated his shoulder in pre-season, Gillingham were looking to sign another goalkeeper which probably wasn’t planned, but signing Glenn Morris on loan is a excellent loan signing.
Elkan Baggott, Ryan Law, and Hakeeb Adelakun are three players signed on loan from League One Clubs, Mikael Mandron and Scott Kashket were both signed for Gillingham after they were released by Crewe Alexandra, and both players have got reasonable goal-scoring records, so supporters were pleased with both signings, Because Gillingham were over-relying on Vadaine Oliver for goals last season, Gillingham were looking to add to there attacking options, and Jordan Green impressed during pre-season to earn himself a contract and how Gillingham signed Lewis Walker was unorthodox, because Gillingham had Lewis Walker on trial, he then went on trial to AFC Wimbledon before signing for Gillingham, and Cheye Alexandra was signed to be back up right back to Will Wright, But with Gillingham lining up with a back five, both players are starting for Gillingham in our back five formation.
But even with fifteen signings, Gillingham still only have twenty three players in our first team squad, Glenn Morris, Jake Turner, Ashley Maynard-Brewer, Cheye Alexandra, Will Wright, Max Ehmer, Elkan Baggott, Bailey Akehurst, David Tutonda, Ryan Law, Shaun Williams, Dominic Jefferies, Stuart O’Keefe, Olly Lee, Ben Reeves, Alex MacDonald, Matt Macarthur, Jordan Green, Hakeeb Adelakun, Lewis Walker, Scott Kashket, Mikael Mandron and Joseph Gbode - Gillingham have got twenty three players in our first team squad, But Ashley Maynard-Brewer is out injured, Elkan Baggott and Ryan Law are both young players signed on loan who are learning and developing as footballers, Bailey Akehurst, Matt Macarthur and Joseph Gbode are First Year Pro’s who Gillingham have to be patient with to turn into first team players - after all, look how long it took for Bradley Dack and Jack Tucker to go from first year pro into senior first team player, it took those two a few years at least.
And then you have got Alex MacDonald and Ben Reeves, who are two players Gillingham have to be cautious and protective with, because both players do have injury concerns and Alex MacDonald is going to take a month or two to get back to 100% full fitness and match sharpness, and with everything mentioned above, plus your trying to gel a brand new first team squad, Gillingham are playing Saturday, Tuesday, Saturday, Tuesday, Saturday, and we’re still trying to add depth and quality to the squad on transfer deadline day, you can see why there are problems, but did anyone really think Gillingham would not score in the past five matches and six out of eight matches in all competitions Gillingham have failed to score ??? I don’t think anyone would have thought Gills poor goal-scoring record from last season would carry over into this season, but the stats are there for all to see and the lack of goals scored is very concerning.
Gillingham need to sign A First Choice Centre Back and First Choice Striker, If Gillingham could add A Adam Barrett at one end of the pitch and A Cody McDonald at the other end on Deadline Day, then there would be some more optimism heading into The Gillingham V Swindon Town Game, you could even make the case that Gillingham should sign more then the two players suggested, just so that Gillingham have got more depth in the squad, because a lack of squad depth was one of many many contributing factors as to why Gillingham were relegated into League Two on the final day of The 2021 / 2022 Season.
My Gillingham Man Of The Match For Carlisle United V Gillingham goes to The 237 Gillingham Supporters who were in the away end, everyone was frustrated and ticked off at full time, If Gillingham lost 1-0 And Tomas Holy has made five or six quality saves, we can pick out positives in the performance and there would be something to build on, Disappointing Performance and Result against Carlisle United and a lot of boo’s and anger and frustration aimed towards the players after the full time whistle, whilst some supporters politely clapped, most were irritated, I wasn’t clapping the players after the appalling performance we saw, losing 1-0 doesn’t suggest we were as bad as losing 5-0, but supporters are genuinely concerned and worried about what is going to happen to Gillingham Football Club during The 2022 / 2023 Season, also, it was a very very long journey to Carlisle United, I had got up at 4AM, was on The Supporters Coach at 6AM, and we had arrived in Carlisle at 2PM after stopping at the services twice, and on the way back, we had a traffic diversion which added additional travel time on to our journey and I was back home at 1.10AM in the morning, that’s a long journey to see Gillingham lose 1-0, and the manner of the defeat was concerning, because it is another game where Gillingham have failed to score.
We know that Neil Harris is A Championship Standard Manager and he wants to improve Gillingham Football Club on and off the pitch, Neil Harris wants to implement A U21 Team to bridge the gap between the youth team and the first team and try and help Gillingham bring players through the youth set up, which is especially important with Gillingham not having the largest resources to spend on signing players, and we can point to the transfer embargo, The CCJ, And we have mentioned at length, and maybe to ad nauseum and irritation length’s regarding Paul Scally as Gillingham Chairman, and do you want to see a change in ownership at the football club ???
And even though I probably think that Neil Harris is managing Gillingham Football Club with both hands tied behind his back - other’s might disagree and feel free to comment with your own thoughts and opinions - even if that is the case, Neil Harris selects the starting line up, he names the team, he makes the tactical changes and the substitutions, and how long do we speak about limited resources, problems at the football club on and off the field before we do start to question some of the decision’s Neil Harris is making ??? - I am not calling for a managerial change, or demanding for a sacking, Because I think Gillingham have got a exceptional manager in Neil Harris, But if we continue not to score goals and win football matches, then the pressure is only going to increase in November / December Time if Gillingham find themselves still in 21st Position In The League Two Table.
And it’s not like Gillingham have got A Bradley Dack or John Egan type of player in our first team squad who Gillingham can sell on deadline day, and reinvest that money into strengthening the squad, how many players have Gillingham got who you could call sellable assets, I don’t think there is anyone in the squad who fits that description, and selling players is something Gillingham have not done often enough, yes, Gillingham will get compensation fee’s for Brandon Hanlan, Robbie McKenzie, Josh Chambers and Jack Tucker, and that money is very very important, and had I not mentioned those four players, I would be disingenuous, But Tomas Holy, Jack Bonham, Connor Ogilvie, Jordan Graham, Tom Eaves and Vadaine Oliver have all left the football club for nothing, trying to replace those six players, and with Gillingham looking to completely re-build the first team squad for the last four successive season’s has been a problem, and even with fourteen new signings, Neil Harris can still do with signing two, three or four more players on transfer deadline day to strengthen the squad, and even more so, strengthen the starting line up, four players, even if they are players like Liam Nash, or Ben Nugent are four players Gillingham didn’t have before deadline day, But Gillingham need to sign quality, especially up-front, and someone who is signed who you know is going to be a proven goal-scorer for Gillingham In League Two.

TV Aerials Near Me In Annfield Plain
So, which aerial is best for my house? When considering the best outdoor tv aerial to install at your property, you need to think about more than just how much it will cost you. Factors such as the proximity of the nearest TV Aerial mast to the location of your house or the surrounding environment, for example, do you have high buildings or trees around you?
TV Aerials Near Me In Annfield Plain will always advise on the best quality tv aerial to suit your home and requirements. If you live far away from the mast, then the likelihood is that you will require an HG Aerial as the further away your home is the weaker the signal will be. An HG Aerial installation would also be recommended if you were considering connecting multiple rooms to the aerial. A smaller aerial would not have the strength to supply multiple points.
A good indication of how good the signal is around your home, is to have a look at your neighbour’s TV Aerials, check their quality and the position of them. In areas of good reception, a standard logger or 32 elements outdoor aerial will be fine, within a poor reception area TV Aerials Near M In Annfield Plain would recommend installing a 52 element aerial, High Gain Aerial. Our engineers will always recommend the best tv aerial to buy. For further advise or to book a visit please contact us and we are more than happy to help Learn More about different TV Aerials.
Indoor TV Aerial in Annfield Plain
Very rarely people find that they are unable to install an aerial onto the outside of their properties. In these instances, an indoor aerial is often an option. This then begs the question, what are the best indoor TV Aerials? TV Aerials Annfield Plain are on hand to advise and inform our customers about the best indoor aerials for Freeview. We would always advise that you need to be situated within 10 to 15 miles from the nearest mast in order to receive a good reception for the indoor aerial. By searching the Digital UK Postcode checker, you can identify which mast is nearest to your home or property.
Other defining factors that will affect the quality of the signal received on the indoor aerial would include: the location of the property, if it has buildings or trees surrounding it, or if you were situated within a valley. If you are unfortunate enough to suffer from any of these issues, then the quality of the reception would be significantly affected. Do indoor aerials work with Freeview? The simple answer is yes, a good quality indoor aerial will work if there are none of the factors above affecting the signal.
Today indoor aerials come in multiple shapes and designs, the quality of the aerials has also improved, and most modern ones now have a built-in amplifier to maximise the reception, this would work especially well if you had poorer reception. The indoor aerials need to be plugged straight into the back of your television or Freeview box. For optimum signal move the aerial around until you find the best position. If you have an omnidirectional aerial it will adjust and align itself accordingly. TV Aerials Annfield Plain are happy to discuss the options with you or we can arrange a visit and check the signal within your area before you decide.
Loft TV Aerial Annfield Plain
Can I fit a TV Aerial in the loft? Our engineers at TV Aerials Annfield Plain would visit your property and investigate to identify whether a digital loft aerial could be installed affectively. Many new build properties already have the cabling for the aerials run directly up into the roof or loft space and we are installing loft TV Aerials more frequently. Different areas of Annfield Plain will receive varying reception, some areas are better than others. In poor signal areas, a High Gain aerial would always be advised so that the best reception can be received.
We often get asked, do loft aerials work? The simple answer is yes, however TV Aerials Annfield Plain would always advise that installing a tv aerial onto the roof would always provide the best reception. If the roof space is lined with foil, then no aerial would work. Some older properties also have a thicker roof than some of the new builds of today and this would also affect the reception if the aerial was installed in the loft.
In order to receive the optimum signal strength within the loft TV Aerials Annfield Plain would suggest installing an HG aerial or an amplifier, especially if the loft aerial is going to be connected to multiple televisions. One positive factor is that installing the aerial into the loft will prevent the loft aerial being blown if there are strong winds, it will not rust or be knocked out of alignment by the different weather conditions.
Annfield Plain Freeview Aerials
Freeview TV is received through a TV Aerial. TV Aerials Annfield Plain most commonly install TV Aerials onto the roof, often, onto the chimney. The highest point obviously provides the strongest reception. A typical tv aerial installation includes supplying and installing the aerial, cabling, bracket and lashing kit if the aerial needs to be raised higher to gain optimum reception the engineers will install the Freeview aerial onto a 10 or 12-foot pole.
Within poor signal areas of Annfield Plain, our engineers often recommend installing a satellite dish as these are often used when the tv aerial reception is poor or unavailable. If a customer insists on wanting Freeview than a High Gain tv aerial may be an option. These aerials are more expensive; however, they will receive the best reception possible, especially if they are erected onto a high pole. TV Aerials Annfield Plain will always advise and inform our customers on the best options to suit their property.
Customers often ask, Which aerial is the best for Freeview? This is dependant on the location of your property and how far from the nearest transmitter you are. The distance will determine which aerial would be best suited to your property. If you are close to the mast a standard 32 element tv aerial will provide you with Freeview channels. If you are further away an HG aerial would be necessary. TV Aerials Annfield Plain will attend your home or premises and assess the site before giving you advice on what they think would be the best tv aerial to install.

If you had subscribed to SkyQ then you will need to have the LNB on the satellite dish replaced with a standard LNB to ensure it is compatible with your Freesat box. Is Freesat better than Freeview? In areas of poor reception where it is impossible to pick up Freeview through a tv aerial, then the engineers at TV Aerials Annfield Plain would always recommend installing a Freesat dish and Freesat box. Freesat is ideal if you live within a poor signal location.
Once you have the Freesat box and satellite dish setup you will be able to access hundreds of television channels and radio stations without the monthly subscription fee. For more information or for a satellite dish installation please contact TV Aerials Annfield Plain and one of our experienced engineers will come along and help with all your needs.

TV Aerial Cable Annfield Plain
What type of cable do I need for TV aerial? TV Aerials Annfield Plain can attend and install coaxial cabling within your home or commercial premises. Installing the correct coax cabling is an integral part of the aerial installation and the quality of the coax cable connector is just as important. The most common coax cabling includes RG59/U, RG6/U and RG11/U. RG6 coax cable is the cable that is used most commonly within homes, it can transmit audio and video signal to televisions.
RG6 coax cabling is also used when distributing Satellite systems within homes and businesses, within British standards this coax cable is the minimum requirement for aerial cabling. The RG59/U cabling is best suited to basic analogue television feeds within the home, it is made from copper central conductors and ideally is used when terminating the ends with F-Type connectors. TV Aerials Annfield Plain also use this cabling with simple CCTV installations that only require a short length.
TV Aerials Annfield Plain tend to use RG11 for special purposes, such as burial or extremely long runs, also when installing large distribution setups, forming the backbone of a TV or Satellite system RG11/U coax is essential for a professional installation. Call TV Aerials Annfield Plain for any cabling related advice or to book an extension in with one of our engineers.

How much does it cost to get an aerial fitted? If you need a new aerial installation, the average cost of a new digital aerial is around £150 with additional sockets and cabling costing about £45. However, the cost of a new aerial also depends on the area that you live in and the proximity from the nearest mast. You also need to consider the number of rooms being connected to the aerial, multiple points will weaken the signal, therefore a High Gain aerial would be recommended to supply the rooms sufficiently.
TV Aerials Annfield Plain will attend your premises and help you identify which aerial would be best suited for your requirements. A quote will be provided, and the engineer will carry out the work that day if you want him to go ahead. An average Aerial installation takes around an hour.

Magic Eye Installation Annfield Plain
We often get asked, what is a magic eye? A magic eye installation is an infrared transmitter, with a remote extender that lets you control the TV channels on your digital satellite box from another room within the house. The magic eye links between the coax cable and the aerial socket at the back of the television.
TV Aerials Annfield Plain are experienced in sky magic eye installations. After the magic eye installation, you will be able to watch free sat or sky in another room other than the one where the box is situated. You will still be able to watch HD digital channels.
Multiple eyes can be connected so you can install magic eyes into every room, to do this would require the installation of a global amplifier or a distribution amp that as IR bypass. The signal to the other rooms is sent through the cabling from the satellite. This is ideal for when you’re in the kitchen or in bed as you won’t require a second box.
The only negative is that the TV channels can only be changed via the main box, meaning the additional rooms can only watch what is showing on the main television. Obviously, this would not be ideal if you have a large family as everyone will want to watch different things. Please give us a call and TV Aerials Annfield Plain staff and engineers would be more than happy to assist.
TV Aerial Booster Annfield Plain
An aerial booster is an RF amplifier designed to amplify your aerial signal, the installation of an aerial booster for tv allows the signal received through the aerial to be increased. TV Aerials Annfield Plain will always test the signal strength of the aerial using a meter. If the signal is poor or registers below the recommended level, the engineer would always suggest an amplifier to ensure the best signal and prevent pixelation.
When a large television system is installed the masthead or distribution amplifiers are required to ensure that the best reception is received throughout the property. Be aware, this type of distribution amplifier will pick up interference from radios if they are not installed correctly.
That’s why on TV Aerials Annfield Plain we would always recommend a professional engineer to come out and provide advice. The Incorrect installation of a booster may cause problems with televisions, as well as mobile phones and radio comms systems.
An aerial with booster can easily be concealed discreetly within the loft or roof cavity. Masthead amplifiers are more commonly attached to the aerial pole with a cable coming from the box and another lead running to the television within the property. They are quite simple and don’t affect the aesthetics of the property. Please feel free to call for more information on aerial boosters.
Best TV Aerial Connectors Annfield Plain
Although there are a variety of aerial cable connectors available, television aerials use three types of aerial connectors to input on televisions. TV Aerials Annfield Plain understand that the quality of the aerial wire connectors determines the performance of the signal to your televisions. Good quality cabling and connectors are as important as the aerial itself.
F connector is the most commonly used aerial connector. The connector uses a single pin connection made from the central wire of the cabling. A threaded cylinder covers the connector and allows you to screw it onto the television port, therefore securing the connection.
Alternatively, TV Aerials Annfield Plain may also use a UHF connector which uses a sprung, tooth-like clamp that the cabling is inserted onto. Once the core is exposed the cable is inserted and the collar tightened. The coax is terminated, and performance is improved.
For CATV, SATV and Digital TV, F-Type coax connectors are used alongside RG6 and RG11 cabling, and although screw aerial connectors are also available TV Aerials Annfield Plain believes that the crimp connectors, terminated using crimping tools produce the better connection. Call today to discuss the options or book an appointment
Caravan TV Aerials Annfield Plain
If you’re looking for TV aerials for caravans, then TV aerials Annfield Plain can advise and install the best caravan aerials for you. Many caravans are like a second home, so there is no point having a large flat-screen TV if you can’t get any reception. Don’t let poor reception ruin your stay, TV Aerials Annfield Plain stock a variety of caravan tv aerials as well as caravan aerial pole.
The aerials and masts come in a variety of styles and sizes, whatever your requirements we can install the best caravan aerial or you. The caravan roof aerial is attached to a mast to provide additional height in order to receive optimum reception. The stronger the signal the better the picture that is received.
A High Gain aerial is known as a Diginova. It is a 10 element yagi-type UHF aerial that is watertight and UV resistant, ensuring it is protected from the elements. Once installed the aerial adapts itself to the received signal in the area, correcting any signal fluctuations and auto-adjusting the output to enable an optimum level for viewing. TV aerials Annfield Plain install these types or aerials to caravan parks as well as static caravans.
TV Aerial Splitters Annfield Plain
A TV aerial splitter would be required if you wanted to split an aerial feed to enable the aerial to feed two Freeview digital tv receivers within the property. We often get asked, does an aerial splitter weaken the signal? In simple terms, yes it will, however, if you encounter poor reception or signal loss once the feed has been split then TV Aerials Annfield Plain would recommend installing a distribution amplifier.
Can a TV aerial be split into multiple rooms? TV Aerials Annfield Plain connects aerials to multiple rooms regularly. Obviously connecting the extra rooms will requite splitters. For example, connecting the aerial to 5 additional rooms would require a 5-way aerial splitter. It is most likely that you will require an amplifier to boost the signal as well.
The engineers at TV Aerials Annfield Plain can also split sky leads and radio aerials. Ideally installing a High Gain Aerial would supply multiple rooms without the use of an amplifier. This is the most cost-effective way to supply multiple rooms. Call today and our engineers will call out and discuss the best way of connecting your rooms to the aerial. The engineers will use their meters to determine the strength and reception being received, from this information they will then suggest the best solution for your home.

Cost of CCTV camera at home
CCTV camera Installations are becoming more common not just in offices and commercial establishments but also in private residences.
Basic Surveillance systems are not as expensive as they used to be; due to advances in technology that have made such equipment more affordable than ever. However, the total amount that you would need to spend on a CCTV system installation may vary depending on things like cameras, USB extenders, software, power line adaptors and LCD monitor screens. Any additional features will definitely drive up the installation cost.

Harrogate’s Bad reception Areas
Harrogate’s Bad reception Areas
As part of a Government scheme to clear TV frequencies in preparation for future 5G services, the Harrogate TV region became the latest to be affected by changes to Freeview. The changes also affect YouView (BT TV, Plusnet TV, TalkTalk TV) as well as Now TV Smart Box and EE TV users in the region.
Throughout the day aerial installers and specialists in London have reported high demand for their services, with many angry viewers complaining on social media about the changes, which has resulted in some viewers losing access to channels including BBC Four HD, Al Jazeera, Keep It Country, FreeSports and PBS America.
The Freeview frequency clearance programme began with next to no fanfare in parts of Scotland last year and is due to continue on a region-by-region basis until 2020 when 5G services are expected to arrive in the UK. Similar changes also took place in parts of Southern England.

Freeview in Harrogate
Viewers have been advised to retune to restore channels. But some channels are now available on frequencies never used before by the capital’s main Emley moor transmitter (pictured above), meaning some aerials will not be able to pick up all channels as before.
However, viewers receiving Freeview via a shared or communal aerial may also not be able to receive all available services: despite letters from Digital UK, the organisation overseeing the changes, to landlords, it appears some have failed to ensure aerial systems are suitable, or pass through the correct frequencies, based on feedback from affected viewers today.
For viewers receiving Freeview from one of the many relays dotted around Harrogate, the changes have resulted in even the main channels such as BBC One being affected.
