Volunteers for the war are stripped of their rights and fully taken advantage of for "the sake of their country." Rich men start the war; poor men fight it. Scientific minds are turned into brutish fighters because barbaric bloodshed is in demand far more than graceful intelligence.
The issues of capitalism and government The Silt Verses brings up are blatant and constant. I cannot think of a piece of media that so beautifully throws these societal flaws in your face. I am watching characters survive in an impossibly hostile world, mimicking ours perfectly. I could talk forever about everything this podcast does right.
