The inbetween
Amity Park had been suffering from increasingly tense moments. After years the portal slowly became unstable, spilling a large amount of environmental ectoplasm into the city and producing various changes in its inhabitants.
Ghosts had stopped being a problem a long time ago but the G.I.W never stopped. They got to a point where they started seeing the Amity Parkers as ghosts due to their liminal state, which made the halfa very nervous.
Not knowing what else he could do, Danny sat on the roof of his house. He knew that the portal would explode, that asking the government for help was pointless, and that the Amity Parkers were growing more and more afraid. At least they were accepting their new changes with some amusement.
"I wish I could keep them safe" the halfa whispered. Knowing full well who was listening. For once Desiree took pity on him, probably because the townspeople were so kind once the ghosts stopped attacking.
The wish was granted and Amity disappeared from the map leaving warnings of danger on the printed maps. When the portal exploded the Realms and the city were combined. Leaving Amity as the most sensitive point to the land of the death and the union between both dimensions.
They had a hard time adjusting at first but found that they could get away from the town as long as they hid their new features and don't scare near cities. They created their own civilization and made contact with the ghosts of their deceased friends.
Years later, the legend of the lost civilization began to be told. Like planes and cars that disappeared whenever they entered the "A.P" perimeter on the map, similarly to the bermuda triangle but on the ground. And it didn't take long for people to become curious, of course none of them came back.
Constantine warned the League not to go, that the only wizard to leave the place refused to say anything about it, but told about ancient humans who had evolved to become one with death. The magician disappeared a few days later. The League decided to take the risk and investigate.
Sure, Amity wasn't holding anyone prisoner, just asking for a bit of discretion. People stayed because the sight of someone you've lost a long time, be it a voice or a spirit can make you lose your mind. And people used to move, to learn or meet again. Not that the League knew any of that.

"Danny was born a Wayne" AU except he's Bruce's grand uncle. The result of a one time drunken affair, shortly before Kenneth Wayne's death, to a young unmarried woman who gave the baby up for adoption.
(Whether the Fenton's, and therefore Amity, were just ahead of their times or the DC timeline is shifted a bit so that DP happens in its cannon era is up to you. Dealers choice, though now that i know about her i just love badass widowed prohibition leader Laura Elizabeth Wayne)
Danny grows up knowing hes adopted and loved by the Fentons but something (dealer's choice) happens and he loses his family and friends (maybe the whole town goes too?). In an attempt to avoid a Dan situation he flees into the Infinite Realm and doesn't stop.
He just wanders, time passes in its weird Realms way, not that Danny truly notices. A protector spirit thats lossed everything it protected. Its a wonder he doesn't fade and he actually might've if it wasn't for his human side.
But its a tug at his core that brings him from his near catatonic wandering. Gone before he can even understand it but enough to shake him back to himself. Enough to know that hes nowhere near ready to go anywhere familiar so he continues on, his wandering no less pointless but at least he's aware again.
What feels like a relatively short time later he gets another tug, and this time he manages to follow it.
He follows it invisibly through a natural portal that drops him somewhere in New Jersey and all the way to a fancy hospital room in the gloomiest city he's ever seen.
In there he sees his half brother Patrick Wayne, though he wont figure out their connection for a few more years, holding little Agatha. She's adorable in her little dress and pigtails and her sweet face causes that familiar tug he recognizes from what must have been six years ago given the girls age.
Then a nurse comes in and hands a little bundle to what must be the mother (whos name i cant find) and Danny takes one look at the little core tugger who brought him here and just melts. Even without knowing yet that this is his last remaining family, his instincts latch on and he vows to protect and care for the Waynes.
And he does.
He finds his forgetful brother's documents and keeps Aggy company when everyone else is busy and soothes baby Thomas so his poor sister-in-law can get some more sleep. He ices fevers and bruised knees and helps on later games of hide and seek.
He very rarely becomes visible and only to the children. His grief over the Fenton's convinces him its better to protect his new family from the shadows.
Danny explores every inch of the manor, including secret passages and an underground cave system. He claims a forgotten room in the back of the attic as his own, which over the years fill up with knickknacks, heirlooms, and pictures of the family. Even a gift or two from Agatha, who hadn't stopped believing in their shadowy guardian like her brother did when Danny felt they were too old to see him without drawing suspicion.
The manor becomes his haunt and he always knows where each family member is within it. And when any guests have some no good intentions.
And when baby Bruce is born tugging at his core and with the bluest little eyes, he welcomes the fussy little thing. And makes sure dear Martha never knows just how fussy baby Bruce really is, otherwise she might've never had a full nights sleep.
Danny blames himself for not being there when Thomas and Martha die, and promises to never leave Bruces side, practically becoming the boy's living shadow. Watching over him as he gets older, secretly aiding him in his training. Danny feels a bit of pride when Bruce takes some inspiration from the old stories Thomas told him of the shadowy Wayne family protector when creating his Batman identity, glad his nephew still remembers him even if he hasn't shown himself since the now young man was six.
Danny continues to protect and care for the family in a variety of ways over the years even as the family grows.
Lightening Alfred's workload, softening Dick's falls, calming Jason's temper both pre and post pit, hiding Tim's coffee when the boy hasn't slept in far too long, providing plenty of shadows and hiding nooks for Cass, helping Damian hide the litter of kittens he found.
And no one seems to know he's there, except maybe Cass and he's pretty sure Alfred has been know since he first started working for the family. No one knows, that is, until Duke Thomas moves in and lookes right at him watching invisibly from the sidelines.
(@omnicrafts @dcxdpdabbles @hdgnj @ailithnight @nelkcats @im-totally-not-an-alien-2 i dont know, the main point of all this is that Danny's been protecting the Wayne family for decades and no one, except maybe Alfred, knew until Duke moved in)

Amity Park didn’t return to Illinois after they were transported to the ghost zone.
After all, the Zone is fickle even in transporting singular entities like the smallest blob ghost. How about an entire town, with all those people in it?
Instead of Illinois, they end up slightly off the coast of New Jersey, a long time before Amity Park, Illinois ever existed.
Fixing damages that happened to the town during the transfer is considered a total loss, so they scrap everything and rebuild. Since the ghost issue seems to not be going anywhere ever, the decision to lean into the aesthetic and embrace it instead of denying and fighting it is nearly unanimous (save for a few ghost hunters here and there, but they are the minority).
It’s easy to slide into their new existence. Things are very different from the modern life they’re all used to, but much is still the same.
Phantom is always there to protect.
Hauntings are a part of their very foundations.
Amity Park was always pretty isolated, all things considered. So they continue on.
Tucker later on becomes mayor of the new town Gotham (Sam has a heavy hand in convincing everyone to go along with the name). He holds his position much longer and with far higher approval ratings than his predecessor.
Sam eventually marries someone who moved to the newly established Gotham from the mainland, on a business venture, whose last name is Wayne.
Together, they inherit what’s left of the immense Manson wealth.
People from the mainland come and go, providing economy. Not a lot of them stick around, too uneasy of the supernaturally dreary atmosphere of Gotham Island and it’s frankly hostile architecture. The Amitians — Gothamites now — don’t really get it. What’s wrong with ghosts??
The original townspeople are so saturated with ectoplasm at this point that they’ve ceased aging. They die eventually, but immediately become ghosts and just make the trip through the portal to become citizens of Phantom’s kingdom in the Infinite Realms. All things considered, nothing much changes after death, either.
However, it’s soon decided that before any more new people can move to Gotham, the portal must be closed and locked for the safety of the regular humans who are not as immune to the influence of the Zone.
So the portal is buried and hidden, locked and guarded by the eternal soldiers of the Ghost King, the key safely kept on the King’s person at all times.
Life goes on. Years pass. The true origins of Gotham fall into the realm of the forgotten. Eventually, it becomes what it is today.
Batman and all.
The Batcave is more home to Bruce Wayne than even the manor that caps it. That’s because in the cave, he is a step closer to a portal to the Infinite Realms that has been locked and hidden deep underneath the land that once belonged to his ancestors, the Manson-Waynes.
As a direct descendant of one of the original Amity Park townspeople, and one who was (is) so closely tied to the haunt of the Ghost King himself, Bruce has always had a special and innate connection to the town and the land that his city is built on, but never really knew why.
He just thinks of it as his father Thomas explained it to him; the Manson-Waynes, later the Waynes, had been one of the founding families families of Gotham — alongside the Fenton, Baxter, and Sanchez families. Since the other families have long since died out, it’s up to the Waynes to uphold their legacy, and that duty falls to Bruce.
Or so that’s how Thomas, who knew nothing of Gotham’s ghostly, Amitian origins, understood it.
It’s not until Jason, back from the dead, becomes a regular part of the family again, that Bruce starts feeling as if something is different about the cave, and then later the city at large.
Almost as if it’s been awakened, somehow.

A DC X DP IDEA #22
Back in my day.
Imagine dis…
Alfred is a whole mystery to the Batfam that whenever he pulls out his shotgun we are in awe at this kickass badass British butler, on the other hand, we are always in the shadows of his past endeavors. We all knew he was a S.A.S. Armed Services, fighting in 15 different operations between ages 18 and 20. A skilled medical and front liner soldier who was decorated. He later joined MI5, as well as the secret forces of the Queen and later being knighted by Her Majesty.
He is silent as he comes by, he can out Batman the Batman despite Bruce learning from the greatest assassin of all time. He is calm, too calm for any situation to the point your subconscious asks if he had seen something wilder, more insane to consider an alien attack, a mutant crocodile attack every Tuesday is considered somewhat tame, or even the rise of global or universal threats that Alfred seemed to brush it off.
So, who is he?
Alfred Pennyworth had always been a mysterious figure. He had dedicated his life to serving the Wayne family and their caped crusader alter-egos as Bruce Wayne's loyal butler and the revered keeper of Wayne Manor. But Alfred had held a secret for decades, one that would finally come to light most unexpectedly.
Alfred was a teenager called Danny Fenton long before he donned the perfect suit and tie. He lived in the small town of Amity Park, which was riddled with secrets of its own. Danny was not your typical adolescent; he had a strange encounter with a ghostly gateway that had bestowed upon him unusual and otherworldly skills. He had protected Amity Park from vengeful ghosts and spectral threats thanks to his power to shift into a phantom hero known as Danny Phantom.
Danny had just recently been crowned as the crowned prince of the Infinite Realm a week after he had defeated the tyrant Pariah Dark who had attempted to rip off a space in the fabric of in-between just to suck in his little quaint town. It was determined by both the ancient and the Observants that it was better for him to finish his mortal life before he dawns on the crown, as he was still growing, he was still considered a baby ghost younger than Young Blood as his death was still recent.
But slowly the thoughts that he had kept behind his head are coming back to him. Jazz his beloved sister as well as the one who had raised her despite being a child herself who had no idea of raising a child, may analyze her all she wants but she could never sympathize nor connect with his inner thoughts of being one of the halfas. He died, he never really had the time to process it because he had to face the Lunch Lady just a few days after the accident.
His friends, now looking at them closely, have seen that they both have some sort of guilt in their eyes. They both have seen him die amid the electrician, he can’t help but feel some sort of longing at the cemetery the north of Amity Park, he is too alive to have a grave yet too dead to be alive.
He thought he was getting there, changing the views of the people. To show the world that his kind is sentient but the people kept whispering. Shadows cast long by the looming specters sent chills down their spines. Every eerie wail or flicker of a ghostly presence filled them with dread. Their eyes widened in terror as the ethereal figures materialized before them. A hushed silence fell over the town when ghostly battles raged in the skies. Parents warned their children to stay indoors when the ghost alarms rang. Fearful whispers of the "Ghost Boy" circulated, both a hero and a phantom menace.
The ghostly encounters left scars of fear etched in the minds of Amity Park's residents.
In the end, he was forced to leave his home dimension, why? It’s because the GIW have become more vicious more brutal at their hunting, With the sacrifice of both his friends and family they have shoved him into the portal, never to be seen again.
All bloodied and still injured he had landed in a period in the early 1900. He thought that he may have accidentally traveled back in time but when he saw too many conflicting events that he had learned during his high school days that didn’t happen during this time led him to believe that he had traveled a different dimension. Small ripples in the water created a tsunami of change in what he previously known as the past, when he was still in the streets gathering information, he had noticed that he landed in the middle of London during the early 1900s. Good enough that child labor laws are still not a thing so he can work with practically anyone without questions asked. The bad news is that his supposed great-grandfather's version in this dimension had already died, according to his family tree history during his science project in 4th grade his great-grandfather went to London to earn a few bucks before traveling back to America where he would meet his supposed great grandmother and have children. Since he died before he even went back to America the Nightgale-Fenton line died with him.
Luckily a barren couple took pity on him and took him in, since Danny can’t no longer bear his original last name, he embraced the new name from this nice couple who had taken him in. Danny may have felt guilty at the prospect or even the idea of replacing his family but he can’t help but think of it as a new beginning of his life. No one to hunt down his ghostly half, No GIW, and No fruit loop trying to turn him into his heir.
Alfred Pennyworth
During this time he did a lot of odd jobs, cleaning the inside of a chimney, mining, selling newspapers… etc. Sure, it was hard work and he can’t help but look at the children far younger than him taking in jobs far more dangerous just so they can shave something to eat. He can’t help but feel too blessed when he was back in his timeline. Warn food to eat under a sturdy roof to keep out the elements as well as education. Things that were too mundane, too common, that he now feels like a luxury.
Over time he developed an accent as well as new mannerisms and vocabulary.
So, when war broke out on the horizon his core ached at the notion of protection thus signed up in the military.
Sure, he became the most feared soldier in the fields due to his using some of his ghostly abilities subtly. His enemies who stand in front of him call him The Vengeful Orphan, due to his avenging every soldier who seems to die at the hands of their enemies.
Between the ages of 18 and 20, he served in the S.A.S. Armed Services, engaging in 15 different actions. A decorated medical specialist and front-line soldier. He then joined MI5, as well as the Queen's secret forces, and was knighted by Her Majesty.
As time passes by the ages, slowly but surely. He had already outlived his adoptive parents and friends of his. He still held the authority of being the officially crowned prince of the Infinite Realms. He had already explored the world experiencing the culture and history of this world.
At this time, he had already recovered enough ectoplasm to turn back to his ghostly prime and create a portal to the Infinite Realms. But something in him nagged, his core kept trying to tell him something when he was about to take a step inside the portal, but he didn’t seem to know why. His years as Phantom and Alfred Pennyworth taught him to listen to his guts, and it saved him multiple times, without looking back he stayed in this dimension until his mortal life perished.
It seemed that he didn’t have to find it for too long as he was approached by none other than Thomas Wayne with the preposition to be Wayne’s butler.
So, when little Bruce Wayne was born he couldn’t help but feel a little fond of the tyke. He reminded Bruce of himself when he was just a simple young boy before everything. When the fated, night came he tried to shield Bruce from everything, to have him resemble a somewhat normal life.
That night he tucked in a teary-eyed Bruce into bed who had just witnessed his parent’s murder. He faced the ghosts of both Martha and Thomas who had been with the young master since the incident a few hours ago and tearfully promised the two ghostly couple that he would take care of Bruce. Both couples seemed to be in shock at their butler who had seen them but felt relief that their boy was in safe hands.
When his ward Bruce Wayne turned into a crime-fighting vigilante, he can’t help but softly snort at his outfit. Sure, he admits he had a worse outfit when he started as Phantom when he was just a young lad but he is willing to take anything other than a furry suit that fights crime at night. He has no right to criticize either since his alter ego is just him with an inverted color without a mask yet people seem to make no connection between him and Phantom, in his defense he is a young teen whereas Bruce is in his 20s. He just raised an eyebrow at his outfit and Bruce immediately changed the design to be a bit more sophisticated than just a Halloween costume of a bat.
So when Bruce starts to bring in orphans he can’t help but smile fondly as the manor is slowly filled with such joy from each child that seems to find a home in the large manor. He can't help but reminisce if this could have been his life if Vlad had learned to forgive Jack or if his parents and Amity Park just accepted him if the GIW didn’t exist. He thought one day when he was drinking tea with Jason, Jason who died and came back different, never broken. His grandchild who experienced his death in a slow yet painful way died and came back later. He knew there was something different with his grave but he chalked it up in being his ghostly sense sensing the ectoplasm around Gotham. He just wished he checked the grave even though it holds so much sentimental value to the dead.
Don’t get him wrong the moment Jason came back to enact his revenge on B he was already aware something was in Gotham he just didn’t know at the time that it was Jason. He is more than happy to kill the Joker as he had taken mortal lives when he was serving the army but Bruce might notice and he still held fear at the idea of Dan.
After the entire revelation between his son and grandchild, he just welcomed back Jason into the manor as if nothing was wrong with the boy and prepared his favorite dish and snacks in the library whenever he visited.
Now it had been a long way since he entered this dimension, now the long table at the manor is filled with guests and children alike. His grandchildren are full of life despite what had life thrown at them. Dick was the first one to arrive and started, Barbara followed, Jason who took off the wheel, Tim with his brilliant mind with his worrying caffeine intake, Stephanie who fought with his father, Cassandra who started just to atone for the sin of killing her father yet became loyal and caring young lady and Damian who started to learn what humanity is like. Sure others had been emotionally adopted but all of them all have places in the manor.
His grandchildren as well as his pseudo son kept throwing him curious glances every time, He managed to seemingly appear behind them to notify them of dinner. He can also feel the envy of walking silently from the assassin-trained children. He can feel Bruce’s stare whenever he raises an eyebrow at some classified cases that are supposedly secured. He can hear their whispers as they exclaim to one another that he supposedly knew everything, of course, he knew everything the manor became his new haunt after a few years.
He already raised an eyebrow at the simultaneous alarm from every vigilante at the dinner table but imagine his surprise when he joined in looking over the Bat computer as Oracle barked out orders and instructions, as a familiar opponent showed itself.
A green glowing monster is wreaking havoc throughout Gotham it came from Central City and marched its way here to Gotham which became even more powerful due to the ectoplasm in the air. There is already notable damage from both cities as the rest of the heroes seem to work together to evacuate and stop the creature. The JLD attacks seem to have some effect but it was useless due to its minions that kept them occupied. Oracle is so focused on the situation and doesn’t notify their pseudo grandfather to disappear from behind her.
The entire JL is starting to feel hopeless as the green creature seems to raze Gotham as if the stone road is made out of water. Every magician and heavy hitter have been called but no one was able to put damage to the creature.
When all hopes seemed lost, they all heard a loud bang from a shotgun.
Alfred Pennyworth is standing on top of a rubble of concrete and metal, the butler of Batman, the pseudo father, and grandfather of the entire bat clan, also known as Agent A. Carrying his signature shotgun and a thermos that seems to strap to his hip like a belt.
He kept firing round after round from his trusty old shotgun and pausing for a second to reload. He glanced at the heroes around and seemed to raise an eyebrow at the absolute massacre that he had just done to the creature’s minions.
As he paused to take another reload, he paused at movement and looked at the space in front of him and waited. The creature appeared roaring out in fury but seemed to pause the moment it laid eyes on Alfred. The creature seems to shake with uncertainty and fear. Every vigilante and hero present could see its eyes growing wide from shock and fear as well the cold sweat as Alfred raised an eyebrow at the creature as he slowly walked towards the creature with annoyance with every step.
Some heroes who had enhanced hearing could hear Alfred muttering about, back in his day blob ghosts were these cute and harmless things but now some up-start wannabe newly formed one seems to think he is all hot shot.
He proceeds to scold the creature as if he had just caught one of his grandchildren sneaking their hands on the cookie jar and proceeds to take out the thermos and effectively catch the creature. As if the one responsible for the mess never existed in the first place.
Now the bat clan has rules when they are in the manor or the presence of Alfred and one of those rules is that there will be no swearing when he is around, but there is one word that seems to resound from each hero's mind.
What the fuck just happened?!?!
Now as you know I started to post less, now it is both from writer’s block and class being in the way.
PS: If someone out there wanted to continue or make a fic about this you are free to do so, don’t forget to tag me though.

[inspired roughly by this post. My brain snails started going nuts so I thought it'd be easier to post this separately :)]
It was a lovely day in Gotham. Well, as lovely as it could be. The sun was up, peeking through the overhead cloud cover and making the buildings gleam in the rare sunlight. The air was fresher than usual, and faucets ran clear of strange and unusual toxins.
Somewhere in the Upper East Side, in a little neighborhood tucked away from the rest of the city, marched around the new boss of the area. She was a young girl, just barely in high school. But despite it being the middle of a work day, she wandered around her chosen streets, content to do whatever she wanted. Above her, a pair of siblings watched on and discussed the unique situation.
"So let me get this straight: that fourteen-year-old goth girl is a crime boss?"
Mia smiled at Leon, her older brother, and his dumbfounded expression as they rested on her balcony. "She's fifteen, actually. Her birthday just passed. We all got together and threw a block party for her!"
"You know how insane that sounds, right?" Leon turned to her, a bit miffed that she dared to say those words to his face. "She's a kid. Why do you all listen to her?"
Mia shrugged and sipped her beer. "She does good work. Holds her own pretty well, and the kid has connections. Good ones, too. That can be the difference between life and death in Gotham."
Leon rubbed his forehead in frustration. "I just don't get it. How did she end up in this line of work? Do child labor laws even apply here?? Why aren't the Bats doing anything?"
"Don't think about it too much, dipshit." Mia crushed her now-empty beer can in her hand and tucked it into a paper garbage bag hanging off of a hook on the balcony rail. A familiar set of green arrows was printed on the side.
"And now you're recycling?!" Leon realized. "When did you start doing that, Mia??"
The woman shrugged and got up, stretching. "Probably around the time Brambles absolutely reamed out Mrs. Zalinski for littering at the park."
"Wait, who's Brambles?" Leon scrambled upright and followed his sister inside.
Mia laughed. "Brambles is our fifteen-year-old crime boss!"
...
"I can't believe you got a cool name right off the bat," Danny grumbled, flopping onto Sam's bed face-first. Sam smirked and shoved him off with her foot. Danny just squawked and let himself ragdoll to the ground.
"It's your fault for not having a better gimmick." She said to his prone body. "Besides, it could've been worse."
"I think Inviso-Bill is the worst possible nickname for anyone." Danny groaned. "But you got something cool immediately. Who even thought up 'Brambles'? That's such a unique name!"
"Well the kids call you Grim; that's pretty cool."
Danny flopped over, twisting himself much farther than any human was supposed to just so he could glare at her face. "They only call me that cause one of the is obsessed with Harry Potter." He grumbled, pouting.
Sam just rolled her eyes and went back to sorting through piles of papers scattered all across her duvet. Since moving to Gotham several months ago, Sam had taken it upon herself to turn the experience into something useful rather than just moping all the time, as she originally wanted to. That 'something useful' had landed her as the newest crime boss in Gotham, with about a third of the Upper East Side as her current territory.
So many problems had popped up in the last year, and the group had decided that taking it on alone would never work. The GIW had been trying to close Amity's borders, Danny's parents had a scientific breakthrough, tensions in the Realms were high, etc. There was a lot on their plate! Sam's solution was to create a foothold in Gotham City. She would lay the foundations for Jazz to work in Arkham and forge a safer environment for the residents of Amity Park to sneak off to if the GIW went too far. She was essentially weaving a cushion for everyone to fall back on.
Danny, using the power of duplication, was splitting his focus between foiling his parent's plans and resolving issues with his rouges to create a united front. He was the main distraction, and Sam's own heavy hitter when she needed help establishing dominance.
Tucker planned to gather intel with the help of Technus and Jazz. They were trying to gather as much evidence as possible so they'd be in the clear when the whistle blew. The GIW would crash and burn, legally speaking. They were the bugs of the operation, spreading themselves thin and hoarding information like it was candy.
Dani was their wild card, their jester. She was keeping the JLD's attention focused solely on her and all the supernatural hijinks she was stirring up. When the time was right, she'd point them in the direction needed and let them loose. After winding them up so much, the hope was that the Justice League Dark would descend upon the GIW like hellfire.
But those were their future plans. Right now, Sam was in possession of specific files from Arkham Asylum and the GCPD. She was looking for anything to give her an edge in the upcoming meeting with a few other crime bosses. Some annual thing they host to renew Goonion contracts, see who's still alive, and examine how much the territory lines have changed. Stuff like that. Red Hood was supposed to be there, and she knew she needed an ironclad defense against him and his nosy colony of Bats.
Danny untwisted himself all of a sudden, making a weird face. "Sorry, got to go." He apologized. "Vlad just showed up to my house."
Sam waved him off. "Go, I'll be fine for today. Just be on time for the meeting on Friday. And I want you, not a double."
"You got it!" Danny did finger guns at her and promptly melted into a pile of green goo. Right on her bedroom floor!
Sam sighed and got up to throw a towel over the puddle. The ectoplasm would evaporate eventually, returning to the original Danny little by little. But for now, this would keep anyone from asking about it until it was all gone.
Sometimes she really hated living in student dorms. People always felt the need to burst into her room for no reason.
Who even made dorm rooms for high schoolers in the first place??
...
Jason couldn't help but stare at the new recruit.
Well, 'new recruit' wasn't exactly accurate. 'Potential to be the most headache-inducing supervillain' was more like it. Standing at a solid 5'10" with platform boots, Brambles, the newest crime lord who had taken over half of the Upper East Side in under four months, was almost tall enough to look him in the eye straight on. Which she tried to do anyways, tilting her chin up oh-so-slightly (in that stupid way aristocrats do when they want to look down at you) and glaring at him with open hostility.
Brambles was young, way too young to be in this line of business. At the start of the annual underground crime meeting (yes, they couldn't come up with a better name), she had announced that she was fifteen, went by she/her, and would snap the dick off of anyone who looked at her funny. Most everyone laughed at her, thinking it was an empty threat. Brambles proved it wasn't by sucker-punching a younger lieutenant who tried to get handsy with her five minutes into the meeting.
When the lieutenant's boss protested and threatened a gang war, Brambles had snapped her fingers and summoned what could only be a fucking pit demon from the depths of hell to threaten the man back. The creature looked like a teenager, just like Brambles, at first. But it was...off. The longer you looked, the worse it got.
It wore a draping black cloak that covered most of its body, with the ends turning to mist when it reached the floor. It had a pale, young face and white hair. Its eyes glowed just like Brambles', except they were a toxic green that made Jason's heart skip a beat in fear. The creature was snarling, with a fucking muzzle on it to keep its sharp teeth away from wandering fingers.
With a nod from Brambles, the creature bounded forward and knocked the guy to the floor, its arm elbow-deep into the guy's chest. The dude looked terrified, and a little sick "Would you rather lose a lieutenant or your life?" She had snarled, sounding almost a bit demonic herself. The other boss had backed down without another word, writing off his subordinate as dead and gone.
Instead of killing the guy, however, Brambles simply banished her little guard dog to a corner of the warehouse to play with its new toy in peace.
"Is she allowed to do that?" Someone whispered.
"They weren't unionized, so the Goonion won't say anything." Another answered.
It was the most awkward meeting in the history of the criminal underworld. No one even died since they were all focused on the newcomer.
Jason could feel a headache forming as the meeting came to an end. Brambles was still sitting in her chair. The creature had grown bored of its toy and was leaning against her, sprawled out lazily and barely flicking an ear at the onlookers in acknowledgment. A few people were idling around her, mostly women, trying to talk some big game and get on the kid's good side. Brambles was humoring them, taking tight control of the conversation when they got too prying.
Jason sighed. He knew he'd have to go over and have a talk with the kid, even if it was just for Bruce's files. He hauled himself upwards and stalked over. "Pardon me, ladies and gents, but I'm going to borrow the kiddo here for a moment."
The creature hissed at him, tensed at his approach. Brambles kept a tight grip on the back of its muzzle, keeping it grounded. The other criminals scattered like flies. They were the only two (three?) left in the warehouse within minutes.
Bramble rose to glare at him. "What." She spat. "If you're here to convince me not to get involved with anything, I will set Grim on your ass after lighting it on fire."
The creature, Grim, growled in agreement. The sound echoed strangely like he was hearing it from underwater.
"Relax, I'm not here to do any of that." Jason raised his hands in surrender, immediately abandoning that possible line of thought. "I'm just here to talk business. You're young, and while you don't want to admit it, inexperienced."
"Stop the fancy words, Red Hood." Brambles' eyes glowed again, and she released her hold on Grim's muzzle. "If you want to make a deal, say it to my face. If you're here to dig for information, either ask me or hit the road. I prefer honesty over flower talk, so tell me what you want before I take over your area, too."
Jason bristled. His vision was tinted green as he snapped, "What the fuck is your problem, kid?! I just wanted to make sure you were safe and not being forced to do this. I was even going to offer my support and protection if it was too much! I know you aren't going to stop, but that doesn't mean I want a kid to die just because they got into something they shouldn't and they think their fancy guard dog will always be there to protect them!"
Brambles' eyes stopped glowing, and her stare softened a bit. Grim went deadly still, just floating there, staring at Jason. His heart beat like crazy in his chest. What was he saying? It was all true, but he could've been nicer about it. Dick would've found a way to be nicer.
-krrrk- "Ibis, reporting in. I think you can trust him, guys. Even if he's a Bat, his connections and experience would be useful in our plans. Ibis out." -krrrk-
Jason flinched from the sudden noise, looking around to find the source. It sounded like it had come from everywhere, even inside his own helmet. Brambles immediately switched out her hostile look for an annoyed one, tapping an earpiece he hadn't noticed before.
"Ibis, you really have to stop opening up our comm lines to the public." She snapped, but there was no real heat to it. "And I thought I told you to stop eavesdropping!"
-krrrk- "Sorry, can't help it. I'm everywhere now! You shouldn't have given me this power." -krrrk-
Grim hissed.
-krrrk- "Don't hiss at me, young man! You were the one who suggested this!" -krrrk-
"I'm sorry, time out!" Jason made a T with his hands. The green from his vision had completely disappeared now. "What the FUCK is going on now?"
Brambles sighed, rubbing her temples. "You know what? Fine. We'll trust you. My name is Sam. Nice to meet you, Jason Todd."
Jason stepped back, immediately reaching for his gun. Grim darted forward and promptly flew through him, stealing all his weapons in one go. "I'm Danny!" Grim-Danny?-chirped in a human voice, giving him a shit-eating smile. "Sorry for the act, Mr. Hood. And sorry about the name drop, I'm the one that told them."
-krrrk- "I'm Tucker! There are more of us, but they're busy. I have literally so many questions for you, Mr. Hood." -krrrk-
"Now that introductions are over-Danny don't eat his smoke bombs, you're not gonna look like Dorathea-we'd like your help."
Jason squinted at them. "You understand this is all suspicious as fuck, right? And how did a pit demon find out who I am?"
-krrrk- "Yeah, we know. But lives are on the line here, and I think you'd really be a help!" -krrrk-
Brambles-Sam-sighed and pulled out a flash drive. "I was going to use this as leverage, but I guess it'll have to be useful in other ways." She tossed it to Jason, who numbly caught it. "Look over it if you want. If you don't, then just burn it. Do not try to plug it into the Batcomputer. Don't try to send it to the Batcomputer, either. A virus will target that specific IP address as soon as it makes contact. Any other computer is fine."
"Look it over, and we can go from there," Danny added, spinning in midair while chomping on one of Jason's knives. (His good one, too!) "And I'm not a pit demon, but I am dead. That's how I knew about you. Whatever brought you back to life gave the Realms a real headache for a while. It wasn't hard to look you up in the records."
"This is so much information. Lives are on the line? And two, three kids are dealing with it? By becoming crime bosses?"
-krrrk- "Technically, Sam's the only crime boss here. And that was kind of an accident. She was supposed to create a safe foothold in Gotham in case we needed to evacuate our town. But we all got cool nicknames out of it! And you're the only adult we've told this stuff to!" -krrrk-
"I'm what?"
"The only adult." Sam's unwavering gaze seemed to pierce his soul. "There are quite literally no other adults that can help, Red Hood. None that we trust, not really. Any adult intervention needs to be planned carefully so it doesn't backfire on us. We're trusting you here, Jason. Not only are you like us, which technically puts you in danger too, but you have power and connections to support a whole town of people the government wants to eradicate."
Jason looked at the little green flash drive in his hand. He didn't want to ask. "And this...?"
"A fruit basket," Sam said simply. "Originally, it was supposed to be blackmail. But instead, this is a present to show our goodwill and faith. To show you our skills. That drive contains information on other gangs, upcoming rogue attacks, chemical breakdowns of Joker Venom and Fear Gas, unfinished antidote formulas, etc. Tucker and his team scoured the underbelly of Gotham and gathered dirt on every single prominent figurehead. Including Bruce Wayne, should you choose to use it."
"I would never-"
"But you've thought about it." Danny cut in and scratched his neck. Jason's hands shook. "It's not a bad thing. It's just the nature of the dead. Wanting to right the wrongs left over from their time with the living. Even if you walk and breathe now, that doesn't mean desire disappears."
"The point is, we need help. Even if I'm loathe to admit it." Sam rolled her eyes, and suddenly, Jason didn't see a potential supervillain in the making. He saw a teenager trying her best, shouldering the responsibility of hundreds of people, both in Gotham and her hometown. Danny looked the same, no matter how other-worldly he was. What battles were they facing? Why weren't there any adults to turn to? What kind of lives were they leading if they immediately trusted a known crime lord with their lives upon the first meeting?
"I'll think about it." Jason finally said. Danny trilled in excitement, and some tension bled out of Sam's shoulders. "If the situation is bad enough, however, I'm calling in someone else for help."
Danny shrugged. "As long as it ain't Batman! I don't think he'll appreciate us smuggling a town of liminals into his city."
Sam poked Danny's shoulder, prompting him to look at her. "Let's go, before you break his brain with more info-dumping. Bye Red Hood!"
"Uh, yeah. Goodbye!" Jason stuttered. He watched the two kids walk towards the exit door, before shimmering out of sight before they even touched the handle.
What the fuck.

TW for mild unreality
So in a lot of DP x DC crossovers I notice that everyone instantly makes the connection of infinite realms = ghosts. But what if they didn't? I mean, to most humans ghost equals dead person. Not everyone in the infinite realms is dead.
Instead, what if everyone thought it was a realm similar to the Fae Realms? A place where everything is only as real as you want it to be, where the land itself lives and breathes and changes it's form every which when. Perhaps that's why the Fentons think of ghosts as mischievous semi-sentient tricksters, they misread some older texts talking about them.
And they could be right in a way. What if dead ghosts are actually the souls of people who caught the attention of the realms/someone in them and so the realms grabbed their soul upon death to keep. If liminality means you're a guaranteed ghost then maybe that's the realms' way of keeping track of Interesting People so they know when they're up for grabs (they were patient and let you live out your life without interference, it's only polite).
But then, why are ghosts so quick to jump to fistfights now instead of battles of wit? Well that's because of Pariah Dark. The older kings were all the cleverest, the smartest, and perhaps Pariah was clever in a way (he turned a battle of wits he would surely lose into a battle of power after all, and that takes some wit in and of itself) but he valued power and physical might more and so the realms changed to reflect that. And then Danny came along. A small baby child who beat Pariah AT HIS OWN GAME. A child who employs both might and wit in equal measure because he knows the value of both. That small child, king of Ice and Snow, Little Prince, Boy King, a Strategist, a Warrior, that tiny kid is now the King. And the realms change once more to reflect that.
So when Danny is crowned King the ghost zone goes back to being similar to Faerie, only with more fights because Danny is not afraid to straight up punch someone (he's kinda feral like that).
So on the DC side of things maybe there's a summoning (accidental or cult induced), or Danny ends up in the watchtower/Gotham/important place, or maybe the League decide they have enough time to scout out Amity Park and figure out what's going on. They meet Danny, who calls himself a ghost, and are like "You're not like the other ghosts I've met but I don't know enough to refute that" and eventually it gets back to Constantine about this "ghost" boy, and he FREAKS OUT. This is an Infinite Realms denizen, a people similar to Unseelie Sidhe in all the legends, him being a ghost just means he was (or would be, time likes to wander in the realms. Sometimes the present is the future and that past has Not Yet Occurred) interesting enough to nab when he died! And they've been TALKING to him?? That's how you get their attention! You don't want their attention! It's bad enough that Red Hood has a guaranteed fast track there with the sheer amount of Realms Energy swirling around him ever since his resurrection he doesn't need any more people putting up massive I AM HERE signs willy nilly! Just because most denizens are willing to wait until you die to try and steal you away, that doesn't mean that all of them are. And now that Pariah Dark is gone, and the New King is perfectly willing to entertain wit and humor in his court once more, well. It's free real estate.
TLDR the Infinite Realms are Fae-Adjacent and Constantine is Terrified.
I-
this is just incredible. I have no words. I am in awe.

DP x DC prompt 2
I like the idea that JLD starts hearing rumors about the new King of Infinit Realms and then Batman decides to investigate. Usually stories are written with Batman having discovered Amity and then meeting Danny, but what if the focus of the story is a little earlier? The idea is:
Okay, according to wikipedia, the JLD members are: John Constantine, Detective Chimp, Doctor Fate , Ragman, Etrigan and Zatanna. Wonder Woman is also included in some fics and I think it's cool to include her here. Well then, it would be nice if the story started from the perspective of these members, each one (or at least some of them) having supernatural encounters that go in a different direction than expected (a mission, an artifact that starts to work differently, a realization that something in the universe has changed). Each member reports these changes in a conversation that started casually and then they decide to investigate more, it would be great to explore different encounters they have with creatures or beings more connected to the other side, and these beings talking, but not talking - maybe presenting riddles, maybe not talking on purpose, refusing to comment - I particularly like it when the character Lucifer, from the series, appears. He can clarify the facts, or he can refuse to give a straight answer (I imagine he and Danny can actually get along very well). Anyway, after many ghostly and surreal encounters, as well as finding several pieces of art and legends about the mysterious Phantom (maybe Diana will also get in the middle of this, discovering files in themyscira about Phantom being connected to Kronos aka grandfather clockwork), the group finally discovers that there has been a significant power shift, that Pariah Dark is no more etc. Not only that, they  discover the GIW and the Anti-Ecto Acts exist. And in the midst of it all they discover that there's still a whole universe of things they don't know (infinit realms and such).
Meanwhile, on the other hand, it would be awesome if, like stan lee in the avengers movies, Danny actually had multiple appearances (a boy asking for coffee in the background, someone they asked for directions in a certain city). Danny would already be moving towards being the king (crowned, but still learning and effectively being a prince, more than a ruler). Or the idea that he's basically the host of the realms is pretty cool too, less of a ruler, but more about being the one who maintains the balance between life and death. This would all be part 1, which would see JLD coming to the realization that there's a part of the world they didn't know about and now they have to bring it to JL.
In part two you could focus on other aspects, such as: - Division JLD and JL: not on purpose, but members like Superman and Batman, among others, have their problems when interacting with the supernatural. Batman for example: he's not stupid, but his tendency to investigate and have a contingency plan for everything and everyone can be especially problematic when dealing with the supernatural, as there are rules and boundaries you can't cross if you don't know how to deal with them and the consequences. So, difficult conversations trying to explain the situation in the right context and perhaps a greater understanding from JL members of how unprepared they are to properly deal with this type of problem maybe?. - Follows after the fact above the investigation itself, with a mixture of JL and JLD, each with their contacts and specialties, finally arriving at Amity park and the Fentons. - And finally we come to the classics DP fics: the Fentons as Mad scientists, neglectful parents and etc and the plot twist of the moment: Danny and Jazz Fenton are “missing”, with the city as part of a conspiracy that helped take the children out of the Fenton family and out of reach of the GIW, and citizens of Amity distrustful or aggressive towards the JL (Danny and Jazz ran away and they are now Nightingale , it would be great if they were in Gotham this whole time hauhau) . It could even expand the lore about the Nightingales, they could be a family relatively known within the right circles as the psychopomp. The idea here is that they don't find out who Danny is at first, that there are layers of mystery until they find the answer. That Danny, even though he's young, has enough time to learn and when he has to face it and talk to JL and JLD, he would do it as an equal.
possible part 3 - In parallel, the adventures of Danny, jazz and company running away to gotham, learning things outside the small world that is Amity Park, Danny talking with Lady Gotham and helping her to take care of the supernatural part of the city, since that is not the specialty of Batfam, even with Metas like Duke. The batfam feeling that the city is different someway. Maybe Danny meeting several of the waynes/ vigilants, bonding with some of them and etc. Not forgetting Jazz and her work in Arkham and Sam and Tucker and Ellie somehow included. (maybe even Dan).
tips - fics and stories that inspired me in this idea:

When You Stepped In
tw reference to death, reference to past abusive relationships
Luz’s King-ceanera is an event marked with cheer and laughter, with her mother freaking out over the blinking eyeballs floating through the punch and the numerous birthday kisses from Amity.
They party through the night and until the break of day, people coming in and out the doors of the Owl House throughout the event. Some of them end up leaving by the end but most find themselves collapsed in a heap in the living room, snoozing and whispering in hushed tones.
That’s where Luz finds the note.
She feels a sharp point peeking out of her jean pocket and thumbs the worn paper. She pulls it out and finds a folded up white square reading, To Luz.
A hazy memory bubbles to the surface: Amity, laughing with the brunette near the punch bowl, Styrofoam cup in hand, confetti dusted in her lilac hair. Gus passes by them quickly, handing Luz a paper square on his way to the pinata. “For later,” he whispers into her ear before shooting her finger guns and walking off. The girl just shrugged and shoved it into her pocket.
Now, she fingers the scratchy scrawl of Eda’s handwriting before gently unfolding the square, laying the large sheet out in front of her.
Happy birthday, kid! Eda’s handwriting once again. Can’t believe it’s been four years. Seems like just yesterday you were stumbling out of the Human Realm all confused and nearly getting yourself killed ten times over. But, it wasn’t. It wasn’t yesterday. Yesterday I wasn’t some lone, stuffy old witch pushing away the people who loved me out of fear. I wasn’t someone on the run from the law, living everyday like it could be my last- because it could. Living everyday wasting away on the edge of Bonesborough, not caring that there could be no tomorrow. And that’s because of you.
You shoved your way into my life like the world’s most stubborn lunatic and begged me to be your mentor. And for some harebrained reason, I said yes. I took you in and you turned my entire world upside down. You got me to confront my past, my curse, my sister. You nearly destroyed my house several times over with all your shenanigans, and put us all in danger more times than I can count. And now, look what I’m left with: an armful of friends, a rekindled connection with my family, an actual relationship with my house demon, an ex-lover-turned-spouse, a bunch of pesky students, and you, Luz.
You’re the greatest gift I’ve ever received, kid. You taught me how to stop running and face life’s difficulties head on. And I couldn’t think of anything that could come close to meaning as much to you except, well, maybe this. Okay, King’s telling me to hurry it along now, so I’ll leave you with this: happy eighteenth birthday, Luz! Have fun studying your butt off at magic school! No, seriously. Have fun, kid. You’ve more than earned it.
A space, a different font- still scrawled but somewhat neater.
“You are somebody. And I love that somebody very much.” That’s what you told me when I had that identity crisis over not being the King of Demons. I think about it a lot. You couldn’t promise me my stories were true. You couldn’t promise me I was who I thought I was. You promised me that I was still somebody. You promised me that I was still somebody to you. I think the response says a lot about you.
You care so much, Luz. It’s your first instinct. Your first instinct is to reach your hand out to other people, friends, foes, family, regardless of what you feel. You and Hooty helped me get through my hurt on Titan Trapper Island. You pushed aside your own pain to help me get through mine. You spent so many years helping us rebuild the Isles. I wanna be that person for you, at least for today. I wanna be the person who takes care of your worries, and takes care of you for one day, instead of the other way around. This was one of the things I came up with. Lots of birthday kisses, your brother, King.
A familiar writing style. One she recognizes from passed notes during class.
Hey, Luz! Happy birthday, girl! Can’t wait to finally chat without either of us being distracted by schoolwork! <3
Before you stepped through the portal, I was Half a Witch Willow. People looked down on me. Amity didn’t let me breathe in peace. And then you came along, and pretended to be my Abomination. You invited Gus and I to a Moonlight Conjuring when we got overlooked. You defended me against Boscha at the risk of your own safety. And now no one would dare call me Half a Witch.
And it’s not that you changed me, Luz. Fundamentally, I’m still the same person. It’s that you changed my perception of me. You helped me believe in myself, believe I was worth all this trouble, and it made all the difference. A lot more than I can hope to express. Vee told me your name means light in Spanish. And I think it’s accurate. You’re our shining star, Luz. Thank you for all that you’ve done for us.
A different handwriting. The same memory.
Merry birthday, Luz! Or is it “jolly birthday?” I dunno, between this and the class I have to teach, your human traditions are all kinda gettin’ jumbled up in my brain at this point. I’m getting a little sidetracked here.
The thing I love most about you is your silliness.
Your easy sense of humor and inability to not quote Vines and your insistence on dabbing ten times a day long after the custom went out of trend.
You’re silly but you’re also fierce!
You dab and quote Vines and also found an entirely new way to learn magic, took on Belos several times, merged with the Titan, and brought down the Coven System in less than a year!
You’re an icon, girl!
As someone who’s spent his whole life worried people look down on him for being younger, more naive, you remind me that it’s possible to be a powerful witch and embrace my silly at the same time.
Love you, Luz. Happy birthday!
Beautiful cursive, with intricate loops and the i’s dotted with little hearts in a way that made Luz’s heart swell with affection every time she saw them.
Luz,
before you walked into my life, it was a one-way path. I did as I was told, I looked down on the people I was supposed to. My future was with the Emperor’s Coven. I followed my parents orders to a t. That all changed when I met you.
You’ve never been deterred by any box they put you in, and you helped me break through mine. The first time we got along, you apologized for what happened at the Witch’s Duel and then showed me how you did your light glyph. It didn’t seem like it should be a big thing but it was. Because just like that, you had changed a fundamental law of the universe- humans couldn’t do magic. It was just how the world worked. And in two minutes, you completely shattered my worldview. And then you just kept doing it. You can only take one track at Hexside. The Emperor’s Coven is the best and only way to do things. There was no escaping my mother, and what she wanted my life to look like.
When I was with you, I was thinking things I had never thought before, and feeling things I never used to feel. And at first, I wasn’t sure if that was a good or bad thing (good; it was a good thing). But you didn’t just help me change my perspective, you helped the entire Boiling Isles. And before I met you, I never dreamed of a future- one without the Coven system and that accepts people of all magical abilities- doing what I wanted, reconnecting with Willow, having a fairly close relationship with my dads and snagging an amazing girlfriend ;)
I love you, sweetheart. Happy eighteenth birthday, Luz.
Still cursive, but a more relaxed, leisurely, like the writer had stopped worrying so much about perfection over the years.
Luz,
I think a lot about what might have happened to me if you didn’t zap us into Belos’ mind. I would have still been taking orders from him, and then… who knows.
I know you tell me not to get too caught up on it. But it’s true. If you hadn’t stopped me, I would have continued helping Belos destroy the Boiling Isles without question. And then, maybe I’d end up one of those piles of bones he had in the back room of the castle. He’d get rid of me, no regrets, and after all that, I’d still think he cared. Somehow. In some way. I’d still think I meant something to him.
Thank you for taking the first step in pulling me out of that situation. Thank you for understanding and being compassionate when I was swimming in denial with all the signs right there in front of me. Thank you for welcoming me to the team with no qualms when we were rescuing Amity. Thank you for keeping my secret till I was ready to share it with everyone else. Thank you for reeling me into the family like it was no big deal. It was a big deal to me.
Thank you for all those Cosmic Frontier comics you keep bringing back from Mrs. Noceda’s basement, and for introducing me to Warrior Cats, and for helping me get ready for my first date with Willow, and for all those days you spent helping me replant Palistrom Trees all over the Boiling Isles even though you had a test to study for.
Thank you, Luz, for everything you’ve done. For all of us.
Happy eighteenth birthday!
Your friend, Hunter
A loopy, exaggerated font that Luz had grown to love.
Dear Luz,
as I’m writing this, Camila’s at the stove in front of me, cooking chicken, and the smell is wafting around the kitchen and the stars outside the window are twinkling like gems. I used to wonder what they looked like, back when I was still locked up by Belos. I was made there, the castle, and it was all I’d ever known. And then I found your portal.
When I first made it there, I was lost and dazed, with no idea where I was going or what was happening. But Masha found me, and they gave me a sly smile before excitedly pulling their tarot cards out and asking if I wanted to have my future read. And it was the first time someone was actually nice to me, but it wasn’t the last. Tommy from the same cabin as me taught me how to fish, and laughed when I accidentally smacked myself between the eyes with the pole. My friend Meena was really good at telling spooky stories, and she and Masha competed to see whose was scarier one night at the campfire (no one slept a wink that night).
And when I came home, Camila was waiting. She was surprised at how much “Luz” had changed. I wasn’t her daughter, but I tried my best to play the part. And it worked: right up until you came back.
We don’t need to go over the Conspiracy Guy incident, you were there, but the thing that stuck out to me was that Camila was still kind to me afterwards. She still patched me up and made me some hot soup after the whole thing. She still cared. I had lied to her and impersonated her daughter for months. She still cared.
And it wasn’t just her- you cared too.
You had brought her to save me, and when you guys were stuck on Earth, you were there to hold me through my nightmares, and tease me about Masha and help me figure out who I was as a person.
You and everyone else sure, but none of this would have been possible if you hadn’t gone through the portal, Luz. None of this would be possible if you hadn’t found me in the In Between Realm.
You’ve stepped out of your room now, but you’re still far enough that I have time to finish this up. You have that same annoyed look on your face you’ve had throughout exams week. The new neighbor’s dog is barking distantly over the fence, Camila’s drowning it out with 80’s Synth music.
And to summarize: this is a home, Luz. You gave me a home.
Thanks for everything, big sis.
-Vee
No writing. Just text from a typewriter.
My dearest Luz,
thank you for always being there for me, even when I can’t be there for myself! Thank you for all those moments spent patching me up, and including me in your games and scrubbing graffiti off my walls! I hope this birthday’s a good one.
Love, Hooty
A scrawl she recognizes from post-it notes stuck to the fridge and the signature on all those late slips she used to get.
Luz,
before you came into the world, your father and I were in a pretty bad place. And when you were born, we still were. But you were our beacon in the darkness, the thing that really helped us focus on getting out of there. If not for our sake, then for yours. That’s how you got your name.
And I’m blinded by your light, mija, we all are. I’m sorry if it didn’t always seem like I was on your side, but I am. I am and I always will be. Through everything.
You never stop caring about those around you, no matter what. You couldn’t find a place to fit in the Human Realm, so you found your own place. You couldn’t quite conform in the Boiling Isles either, so you made your own place, where everyone belongs. You even got your Mama to stop hiding her old Cosmic Frontier comics in the basement. You make us all feel unique, and special and loved, Luz. You always do what’s right. You burn so bright and I am so proud of the young woman you have become. Manny would be too-
The last few words are rendered indiscernible by Luz’s tears, smudging the ink against the paper, square crumpled up in her shaking hands as she sits on the grass in front of the house, soaking in the first rays of morning light. That’s where Amity finds her, curled up on herself sobbing, and scoops her into her arms, whispering soft affection into her ear with a kiss to the temple.
That’s where Willow finds them, laughing and pulling the two into a ginormous hug, lifting them both off the ground.
That’s where Hunter finds them, woken by Willow’s sudden movement from his side, smiling and joining the group hug.
That’s where Gus finds them, hollering and tackling them all into the dirt, laughing together at the mud staining everyone’s cheeks and the grass winding its way into their hair.
That’s where Eda comes up and musses her hair, and King wiggles his way into her arms, and Hooty wraps himself around her tight, and Vee leans her head against her shoulder, and her mother brings her close to her chest.
And in the midst of it all, Luz feels loved.

Falling into the Zone
AO3
Danny gets lost in the ghost zone having entered via natural portal. The one good thing out of it is he catches a vigilante likely saving them from death.
Tim was not originally in my plan. It was just going to be Danny seeing new sites. Then Tim fell into Dannys arms.
It was meant to be an uneventful trip into the ghost zone. Danny just needed to get to Amity and then back before the fruit loop noticed. Danny was not attending that gala with Vlad without a way to defend himself if he could help it.
Vlad wanted his little badger to attend a gala with him. Of course, his dad agreed right away and sent him off. No matter how tired he fought against it. Vladdy knew best Afterall. Who cares if it makes Danny extremely uncomfortable? Not his Parents.
Even his mom knew he didn’t like Vlad. She just went along with it of course. It would be a good bonding experience for the two.
It couldn’t even be a day trip. No. Vlad had a suite in some hotel in Gotham. They would be there two days early. There was no need for it. The fruit loop is only doing it to make him even more uncomfortable. To rub his wealth in his face or something.
The first day was spent just being lectured on proper etiquette followed by threats if he didn’t behave. He wasn’t going to risk Vlad releasing his experiments on Amity when he wasn’t there. So, he would behave at the gala. Only the gala got specified in that deal.
Danny couldn’t even contact his friends to warn them. The fruit loop had “accidentally” knocked into Danny causing him to drop his phone. Only to “accidentally” step on the phone breaking it.
There is no way the outfit Vlad had specially made didn’t have some form of anti-ecto properties. He was starting to think there was more to making himself look better. It was a disaster waiting to happen.
If Plasmius made an appearance at the Wayne Gala. That was on the bats. Danny wouldn’t need to get involved. If Amity doesn’t need help, he’s sure an experienced vigilante could handle it. He had no experience and handled it himself.
Danny was set to behave, be good and stick around. He was trapped in the hotel room anyways. Anti-ecto shields keeping him stuck.
Then a glowing green portal opened in front of him. Which Is odd. Now he wasn’t at the Gala so why behave? Was it a bad choice? Probably. He didn’t care, better than staring at a wall.
He went through it. Right into the ghost zone. The portal closed behind him. At least he didn’t have to worry about Vlad following. All he had to do was make his way to the Fenton portal warn Sam and Tucker and be back within an hour. Should be easy.
He’d have to find an excuse for how he got out. But that was future Danny problem.
Current Danny problem was being lost in the zone. Nothing here looked familiar. It was all new, with different islands and different doors.
The farther he flew the more he saw.
Floating islands made of candy, waterfalls in thin air, floating rivers with glass walls and flooring you could see ghost fish swim, and the massive number of flying animals.
He had seen dragons, unicorns, rabbits using their ears to fly, there was even an emu. They all just were chilling in the zone. Now he knew animals resided in the zone. Cujo was proof of that. He just didn’t expect there to be so many.
The sheer size of the zone shouldn’t surprise him. It was officially known as the infinite realm for a reason. A place that connected every universe and every dimension to the afterlife. Even if you believe when you’ll die you go to the void you must pass through the realm first. Anyone who dies travels through it. Only around 2% ever stay. Yet 2% of an infinite is too much to count.
Those who remained in the infinite realm had tragic deaths or had business left to attend to.
Take ghostwriter for example. He died in the fire that took down the library of Alexandria. It’s why he was so protective of his books. His human life ended trying to save the books of the past. He couldn’t protect them so now he can write books his own way. On top of having a library of all the past books to ever exist. Danny destroying his book reminded him of his death.
No one wanted to relive their death day.
Danny was content to take in the sights. See a whole new area of the zone. Once he figured out where he was this area would go on their map. Better than no map but certainly not the infimap.
This area of the zone was astounding. So much better than by the prison.
An island of floating water with what appeared to be mermaids and mermen.
An island with large trees and a giant nest. Humanoid creatures with wings resided there.
Did the zone have property value?
The Fenton portal was right near walkers’ prison. Maybe they just opened the portal in a bad area.
Danny had even passed a few ghosts while flying. He had prepared to be attacked. Yet none came. The ghost just looked at him and left. He wasn’t sure but Danny is positive one called him a baby. Which rude. He is 15.
Around an hour in, he was about ready to ask someone for directions. Someone had to know where the prison, the far frozen or even the river of revulsion was. He was interrupted before caving.
A bright green light came from above.
Another natural portal. He was tempted but knew better. He could end up in the wrong time. No, he needed to get to the Fenton portal or frostbite.
While he was considering what to do a body fell right into Danny's arms. A human. Black hair red/black/yellow cosplayer outfit and a black mask. There wasn’t much time to process.
The screaming from the portal was overwhelming. Then a boomerang hit him square in the face. A tracker?? Listening device?? something attached. Something was being shot through then with a woosh the portal closed. A grappling hook??? Yea, that’s a grappling hook. Well, half of it got cut off when the portal closed. Thankfully it wasn’t a body part.
Danny did crush the device. He didn’t want Technus to get his hands on that technology. It was far smaller and more advanced than what he had. Regardless of what it was. Not worth a potential headache.
Either way, it’s not like it would work.
Tucker had specifically made stuff to work here. Which Danny didn’t have. Man, maybe he should have thought twice about rushing into the portal. No, his impulsive thoughts were of use. Regardless of if Danny was here, the guy passed out in his hands would have fallen. Which means who knows if he would have survived.
It was more important than ever to get to frostbite.
Danny went to investigate the wounds it all clicked. The boomerang, grappling hook, and tiny device. This was Red Robin, one of Gotham’s Vigilantes.  One of Gotham’s Vigilantes was unconscious in his arms with a bleeding head.
That wasn’t good.
Thankfully Sam had made him read up on all the vigilantes in Gotham. She stressed not to reveal himself as Batman seemed to have a bad reputation with metas. Which was funny.
Danny was half-dead not meta.
Batman shouldn’t have a problem with him.
Unless he hated the undead.
Back to the problem at hand. Well, three. First, a human was in the realm. Secondly, the human was injured. Thirdly he had no idea where he was. Bad odds.
There wasn’t even anyone to ask for directions from.
Danny had never been more relieved for Cujo to show up. It was at least some sense of normalcy in the zone. When Cujo grabbed him by the ankle and dropped him and his guest off at the far frozen he could have cried tears of joy.
Frostbite took one look at the situation, and it was off to their medical bay. All the wounds were superficial, well, and apparently a sedative. Red would be awake soon. Now Danny just had to figure out what to say and how to explain the bracelet now on his wrist.
Humans were the ghost here. Red could just fall through the island into the zone if he wasn’t careful. Sam and Tucker each had their own devices in case they weren’t in the speedster.
Red bolted awake. Checking his mask then looking around the obvious med center. Not even double looking at the yetis. Then he made eye contact with Danny.
“Where am I”
“The afterlife!”  the look on Red’s face said that was the wrong thing to say. He probably assumed he died or something.
“You didn’t die first off. Secondly, stop messing with that bracket, take it off and you’ll fall through the floors.” Danny gave him his best-pointed look. He didn’t think it was effective. Red did stop messing with it. “You fell in a natural portal. Guess you fell for me, right into my arms. You're actually very lucky most who fall don’t make it out alive.”
Red then started messing with his sleeve. “Tech doesn’t work here, has to be specially made.”
The vigilante kept fidgeting with gadgets and gizmos. Even pulling stuff out of his belt. It wasn’t a surprise when nothing worked.
“How do I get home”
“I can take you once Frostbite gives you the okay. Well, frostbite and I. I’m not trusted with the infimap alone. Accidentally travel through time three times and you get deemed a problem. It's not my fault the fruit loop stole it from me.”
“Don’t leave out how you failed to return it Great one” Frostbite boomed as he walked in. Evidently letting in a chill as Red shivered. “Let me look over the human and then I can return you both to the human realm.”
The checkup went well. All Frostbite did was make sure he wasn’t going to pass out again. Nothing else. Frostbite grabbed the map.
No warning given frostbite grabbed the vigilante’s wrist and asked Danny to place his on the map.
“Take us to where they need to be”. There was a trick to the map. Not specifying a place.
Only frostbite landed nicely in some dining room. Danny and Red slammed into a wall. Red’s mask was gone; Danny’s ghost form was gone. There go secret identities.
“Welcome back to the human realm young ones. I shall take my leave. Do try and avoid the natural portals that spawn. You both were lucky.” Frostbite spoke voice full of humor. Frostbite used the map to return to the far frozen. Leaving Danny alone with a bunch of strangers.
He took in the faces around him.
Red Robin was timothy drake Wayne. Alrighty… how was he getting out of this situation. All the black-haired blue eyes people were just focused on him.
After a lot of explanation and a lot of Danny’s personal information being shared, it wasn’t that bad. He was at least able to warn the bats about Vlad.

woah woah WOAH, you write for toh too?? Didnt know thay holy cow
ANYWAYS, could i request a hunter x gn witch reader who is literally death straight up like in pib: tlw (appears to be a teenager and cannot change that, but age is immortal)
itd be funny because hunter is in his wolf phase and then he meets reader who is the embodiment of death as a wolf
maybe a little angst because reader has met every other version of hunter/caleb but is unable to take their souls to rest because of phillip :((
love ur stories stay hydrated <33
Awww poor hunter but ofc.
Also i didn’t know if you wanted romantic or platonic so I’m gonna go with platonic.
Hunter x reader who is the embodiment of death.
Song I listened to on repeat while writing this:paint it -black Rolling Stones.
Warnings: small angst of reader not being able to take hunters soul, swearing
Tumblr media
You were always called to take souls but one stood out from the rest.
Hunter, or as known as the golden guard was not able to have his soul taken.
You saw how his brother murdered him and when you went to take his soul his body was no where to be found.
Cursing under your breath you needed to find him and his soul before something bad happens.
Soon when you found his soul it was no longer there it was made into something for evil.
“Shit this is bad”. You mumbled to yourself as the golden guard stood beside Phillip.
Even after all of the ‘deaths’ of the past golden gaurds you still desperately wanted to set his soul free instead of being trapped.
So when hunter came along and found out the truth you felt a sort of relief thinking maybe now he could be free, wether it be living this life out as someone else, not the golden guard.
You saw how him and the others connected, he seemed happier with them instead of being threatened constantly for a slight mistake.
You wanted to end belos for all the pain he cause his own brother.
So when him and the hexsquad were sent to the human realm you followed just to make sure that he was gonna be ok.
After a couple of weeks you saw how he got better and seemed much more happier.
One day you were near by watching him see and he mentioned that he liked wolves to Gus his eyes wide with sparkle.
You took the chance and walked up to him while he was in the bathroom putting a bandage on a. Cut he had got on his wrist from getting scratched from amitys cat.
“Hunter.” You got his attention and he turned at the unfamiliar voice.
His eyes widened at you, you were a wolf after all how did you know his name?
He stumbled back, “h-how do you know my name”? He asked his hands grabbing onto the sink behind him. You put your paws up.
“I’m not here to hurt you hunter”. You said, your eyes soft and a small smile.
He furrowed his brows in confusion, “then what are doing here”? He asked desperately wanting to know.
“I just wanted to talk, I’ve seen all of your previous deaths and I can never seem to collect your soul”. You explained and his eyes went wide with confusion and fear.
We’re you gonna collect his soul now? You took the silence as a shock and continued.
“I’m the embodiment of death meaning I end peoples timer of life”. You said and he slowly let go of the sink.
“And I’m not here for your soul, i promise”. You added slowly putting your paws down.
“So your a wolf that’s the embodiment of death and your not here to collect my soul and you just want to talk”? He questioned.
You nodded and he slowly walked closer to you, you gave him a small smile and ruffled his hair.
“Wait you won’t tell the others I’m a grimwalker right”? He asked panicking you shook your head.
“No they don’t even know I’m here”. He breathed a sigh of relief and heard Willow calling his name.
“Hey I think Willow needs you I’ll talk to you later”. You said and he passed by you to the bathroom doorway.
“See you around hunter”. He turned back to you and smiled.
“See you around..” he didn’t even know your name.
“Y/n or death”. You answered.
“Right see you y/n”! He yelled walking to Willow.
Ok so I genuinely didn’t know where to go for this.

Emerald Trio Week: Day 7 - Royalty/Leadership
Spoilers: For Season 3, particularly for Thanks To Them.
Set: After Watching and Dreaming but before the timeskip.
Warnings: Referenced character death, a bit of Huntlow
Description: The Emerald Entrails’ first match of the season is not a success.
The Emerald Entrails’ first match of the season had not been a success.
They had snagged four flags from St. Epiderm’s team— So close!— but their opponents had stolen just one more…
In the Entrails’ defence, they had all been helping with the clean-up operation at Hexside, which left them with limited time for training.
Hunter had felt especially underprepared, since he’d had to adjust to flying without… without Flapjack.
He wasn’t ready to team up with another palisman yet— despite Luz and Amitys’ offers to lend him their palismen— and no way was he using a mechanical staff…
Gus had suggested he could use a broomstick (“Matt had one before he got his palisman! I’ll ask if you can borrow it…”) and so, Hunter had started flying on a broomstick— as a temporary means.
Humans believed witches travelled around on broomsticks. There had been lots of decorations depicting witches as such at the Halloween Party in Gravesfield.
Maybe Belos had brought this misconception with him to the Boiling Isles, but brooms were going out of fashion now that everyone was finding their own palismen…
Everyone except Hunter.
He and Flapjack had (always would) shared a connection— a bond— that allowed them to create magic, communicate, and soar together.
Hunter could steer Flapjack to fly in a certain direction, but Flapjack still had a mind of his own. Even if Hunter let go, he knew Flapjack would be there to catch him.
If Hunter’s borrowed broomstick had any feelings… it didn’t make them known, apart from being obstinately unhelpful.
(At first, Hunter suspected sabotage, but Gus assured him Matt wasn’t to blame!)
Now, Hunter had to do all the thinking and navigating for himself— which wasn’t easy, considering how off balance he felt with the heavier back end of the broom.
The broomstick wouldn’t listen to his strategies, share in his victories, or console his losses… or give up its life for Hunter.
Fortunately, Hunter still had access to Flapjack’s magic (Flap’s last gift), enabling him to bolt through the air, despite the broom’s futility.
Hunter could still play flyer derby. He wouldn’t let Willow and the others down!
Though, in the days leading up to the match, it became apparent that Hunter wasn’t the only one having trouble.
Gus’s palisman, Emmiline, had picked up a fear of heights from falling in the Archive House. She would squeak with terror whenever Gus flew too high, so Gus had to stick closer to the ground.
Skara had been worried about how she was falling behind on the latest flyer derby strats. She’d pulled all-nighters trying to catch up, but this lack of sleep had impeded her accuracy.
Viney’s energy levels were low from the number of injured witches she’d offered to heal. While this was admirable, Viney had overexerted herself…
And then there was Willow. As captain, Willow would organise the whole team and give them tips for improvement, though she would never appear angry or hold anyone in contempt.
(Not even when Hunter had knocked a drowsy Skara off her staff…)
Willow would settle any disputes (Like when Skara had yelled at Hunter to ‘Be more careful!’) and tried to reassure them with pep talks.
However, Hunter could see that even Willow was struggling.
She, Gus and Hunter hadn’t had many chances to practice flyer derby in the Human Realm— except when it was dark out and they weren’t too exhausted from working on the portal door.
Willow, while still being their inspiring level-headed (beautiful) leader, had lost some confidence in her own abilities… which she freely admitted to Hunter.
Hunter was so relieved— and proud— that she wasn’t holding in her insecurities anymore!
At the end of the day, Willow assured them, they were playing flyer derby to have fun. Yes, it would be amazing if they won their first match, but it wasn’t the end of the world.
They had all survived a cataclysm that had changed the Boiling Isles forever— most mundane things, like a sporting event, paled in comparison to that.
Still… Wouldn’t it be even better if they could have beaten their snobby opponents?
While the Hexside pupils had been hard at work fixing the Boiling Isles, their rivals at St. Epiderm had spent hours practicing (playing catch up) on their splendid sports field with their expensive gear and their new coach— formerly a professional flyer derby player.
Said-coach was also the referee for the match— and he was totally biased, in Skara’s opinion
While Skara was arguing with the coach and Viney was healing their rivals’ bruises, Hunter dragged his broomstick over to the bleachers, where Willow and Gus were sitting dejectedly.
“Sorry, Captain,” Hunter sighed, flopping down next to her.
“Yeah,” Gus joined in, “we’re sorry.” Emmiline squeaked contritely from Gus’s shoulder.
Willow straightened up with a huff. “It’s not yourfault!”
Hunter, Gus and Emmiline glanced at each other.
Gus asked, “Er— which of us were you talking to—?”
“All of you! And Skara and Viney… and to myself,” Willow said firmly. “It’s no one’s fault we lost— not even St. Epiderm!”
Willow stood up as Skara and Viney joined them. She grinned at their whole team. Her determination was infectious— Hunter found himself smiling too.
“Today was tough,” Willow announced, “but we’ll do better next time! Right, Entrails?”
“Right!” Gus agreed— as did Emmiline— and he leapt to his feet.
Skara pounded her fist into her other hand. “Epiderm had an unfair advantage this time, but we can do even better! Just look at how many of them Viney had to heal… when she was already exhausted!”
“That was…” Viney yawned. “Sorry— that was nothing! What about Gus being a speedster on the ground?”
“I was just following Skara’s lead!” Gus exclaimed.
“I’m not the captain,” Skara said, gesturing to Willow. Hunter nodded.
“What about Hunter?” Willow pointed out. “He had to adapt to a whole new way of flying…”
Gus shook Hunter’s shoulder. “You wiped the floorwith the other team!” Gus laughed.
“You took ‘em all to the cleaners!” Viney cackled.
“Hunter sweep!” Skara hooted, pumping her fists in the air. “Hunter sweep! Hunter sweep…”
“That’s enough,” Hunter grumbled, with a serious frown on his face.
His teammates fell silent. Hunter gripped the broomstick in his hand.
He looked across the field, sniffed and said, “I don’t want to have to mop up St. Epiderm’s tears…“
Viney and Skara each gave him flat looks. Gus tutted and was shook his head with shame.
Hunter felt his face flare up, but he smiled when Willow let out a small snicker.
That was a win in Hunter’s book!

Lucky to have you
Fandom : The Owl House - One shot
Hi ! I’m recently obsessed with Hunter and Luz’s bond so I give you another fic about their sibling relashionship. This fic is pretty much a more detailed version of what happened and lead to the scene in the shed. Mostly from Hunter’s POV.
Word count : 1,567
Summary : Hunter doesn’t really know who to go to for what might be an hallucination problem. Big emotions are spilled with the person he finally decides on.
Notes : Sibling! Hunter x Luz, Mom! Camila x hunter, stress, mention of ptsd and trauma, small mention of death, hurt and comfort.
Tumblr media
It’s been a couple of days since the first time he saw him or at least thought he had. How could his uncle survive the brutal attack the collector inflicted on him and more importantly how could he had followed them to the human realm ? The portal barely stood long enough for everyone to pass, so how did a splatter on the wall managed to make it too. Perhaps it was only in his head. Fear making him see stuff that isn’t truly there. It’s not uncommon for someone to have visions of a traumatic event or person. That’s what he told himself when the hair on his arms stood up fo no apparent reason. But now, he could swear it on his life that he saw something real this time.
Hunter finally decided to speak about it to someone. He thought long about who he would go to first. Gus was the initial choice. They were close and Hunter knew Gus would believe him. But he wouldn’t inflict that much stress to the little guy. He went through enough for his age. Hunter came to care for Gus as what he could only explain to be like a little brother. He wouldn’t want his closest and youngest friend to be in danger or any more scared than he probably was right now.
He then pondered going to his captain about it. She was too, one of his oldest friends and would be a powerful ally if ever the evil emperor resurfaced for a second round. However, if it was truly all in his head he wouldn’t want her to think he was going mad. Hunter cares too much about what Willow thinks of him to dare take that risk.
After that he considered Amity, he rapidly tossed that choice aside because he was certain she would dismiss him as soon as he made his concern heard. They haven't really interacted that much since the eclipse lake incident and he feared she still didn’t like him. She would be right of course. In her shoes, he wouldn’t trust a guy like him either.
The only choice he had left was the human. The powerless human he told himself, trying to rile himself up against her. He didn’t despise her, on the contrary actually, but even in his own head he had to keep up the bad guy pretense. In truth, he didn’t want to put her through more trauma much like with Gus. There was also a part of him that was worried in what state they would find Belos. He couldn’t take the chance of going with someone who had no way of defending herself against a powerful giant with too many eyeballs. Plus, he wouldn’t want to have her death on his conscience. It would be too painful. Luz and him shared a nameless bond. Some kind of playful banter he secretly enjoyed. That’s why he tried avoiding going to her for as long as he could, to protect her. But now he had no other choice.
Hunter heard the human vehicle pull through the entryway. Leaving whatever new sewing project he was working on desperately looking for a distraction, he made his way to join them. Going down the stairs, Luz’s mom placed a hand on his shoulder. He always heard mothers had a sense to detect when something was wrong with their child. « Guess people were right about that » he thought to himself. But he wasn’t her son and he never had a mom. He shouldn’t want this affection and connection from someone else’s parent. He was just a wicked fabrication after all, unfit to be loved by anyone… Even in his first life he didn’t have parents, maybe he was always meant to be an orphan. Scattering those thoughts away, he immediately went after Luz who was still getting her things out of her mom’s car.
———
Luz and him made their way to the shed where the gang spent most of their time trying to figure out a way back to the Boiling isles. Beads of cold sweat were forming at the back of his neck. His hands shook making the leaf rake rattle. Luz saw he felt uneasy and offered him something he hasn’t felt in some time : self-confidence. Even if it was fake, he still managed to trick his nerves into thinking he was ready to take on his uncle. Behind a simple paper mask, he hid his fear ridden face from the man who brought every insecurities and trauma he has. They kicked the door expecting someone already but they both knew better than that. He wouldn’t be easy to catch. The shed’s floor creaked with each footstep he took which only made the uneasy feeling at the bottom of his stomach grow. Sweeping every corner of the shack without luck, Luz and him began making their way to the basement. A clattering sound came from an old wardrobe hidden at the back of the buried room. It was a risky place to take on an oozing monster but like the girl accompanying him said, they had to do this quick and alone. He opened the door expecting his uncle to pounce at him but all they were met with was an angry screeching human realm demon.
« Just a possum » said Luz with a sigh.
Hunter let a deep breath out he wasn’t even aware he was holding. He should feel better knowing that Belos wasn’t there but the tension in his heart only spread.
« No one’s here… I guess it was all in my head » he finally managed to utter, ashamed.
« Well, can’t blame you for being paranoid after everything we’ve been through » Luz replied.
« Yeah, y’know. I just want to make sure everyone’s safe… »
« Same, And that includes you too ! » the brown haired girl told him with a playful bump on his shoulder.
« W-what ? » he almost whispered in confusion.
« Yeah ! Gotta make sure you’re safe too Hunter, you’re family now. »
He isn’t quite sure why those words shattered him this much. He never had anyone and that didn’t bother him before, at least not this much.
« Oh… huh » he sadly chuckled trying to compose himself.
It failed miserably.
A river of sobs and tears kept leaving him without his consent. He felt like a child crying like that. But at the same time, he doesn’t think he ever felt this happy. To finally have someone who cared for him back and having this inexplicable void inside of him filled was a new overwhelming sensation. Even tho he considered Gus like a little brother, he never had any confirmation that Gus felt the same way. For someone socially isolated as long as hunter has been, it’s hard to be certain that a reciprocated connection is established. Hearing Luz call him family cut deeper than any scar he had on him. He never imagined words could do that.
Thankful for the mask he was wearing, he finally took it off when he felt he was able to talk normally again. A sign his fit passed and he could be presentable again. Trying do dismiss his sudden outbreak of emotions he just had in front of her, Hunter attempted to make a joke about it.
« This mask is pretty gross now… » he chuckled nervously hoping it would also make the young girl laugh.
She did and that relieved Hunter of an unknown burden he felt. They made their way back to Luz’s home in silence. Before going inside, Hunter took a chance he hoped wouldn’t be weird. Putting his arms around Luz in a tight hug, he mumbled a « thank you » over her shoulder. She wasn’t quite sure what exactly he was thanking her for… Probably for going with him in secret to fight is imaginary uncle or simply for believing him. Nonetheless she hugged him back. Seeing how he reacted to just being called family, she presumed he never got any physical affection ever. Beside, it was nice to think of him as a brother. Even if she always had all the love and support from the best mom she could’ve asked for, the life of an only child was sometimes lonely. She realized that when she first came to the isles and started to live with Eda, king and Hooty… The hug didn’t last too long but long enough to give them both the therapeutic oxytocin they needed after everything that happened these last few months.
Before going in, Luz felt the need to amplify her sentiment towards Hunter. Hoping it would give him the solace he clearly desperately needed.
« Y’know Hunter » she started
He looked at her with wide eyes, waiting for what she had to say next. Maybe he made things awkward with the hug. He never really gave hugs before and perhaps their relationship and situation didn’t call for physical touch. The girl before him continued her sentence, simultaneously stopping the endless overthinking happening in his head.
« I never had a brother before… » As she said that, his breath got caught in his throat again.
« But I have a feeling I got the best one out there » she finished with a smile without even looking at him and made her way inside.
With shiny eyes he told mostly to himself without knowing if she heard or not.
« I got lucky too Luz »

A DC X DP IDEA #17 Cinderella
Imagine dis…
Danny has many types of occupations throughout the fandom, from being a member of the JL or JLD to a humble engineer or café barista that wants to live a somewhat normal life. But what if we turn him into a janitor working at the prestigious Gotham Academy
Danny never would have thought he would end up being a janitor at an academy for rich kids in Gotham, a thought passed by as he mopped the floors diligently.
Despite his early years of being a vigilante, he hangs his cape the moment he noticed other heroes popping up as well as being able to fix the Infinite Realms. The JL members used to look for Phantom to offer their tillage and wisdom but when the Ghost King, himself, was able to have some sort of compromise between the humans and ghosts, Amity became a hotspot for the paranormal under the protection of the Ghost king when the Ecto acts had been destroyed in favor for the meta law.
Phantom disappeared, it was one running theory that he finally left to rest, or even that he became a permanent ghost knight for the king as some sort of knighthood for protecting both humans and ghosts during hard times.
The explosion in the Nasty Burger still happened but instead of having all of his loved ones die in that tragic fate, he managed to save his best friends as well his sister. Vlad tried to take them in as a way to show his good faith as well as to show remorse for the things he had done and now trying to make it up to the children. At first, the trio and sister are skeptical as both siblings are the last remnants of his beloved Maddie. But he had proved himself to be a better person despite his quirks, which is his obsession that turned into some sort of protection/obsession/love towards the people he considered family after their deaths.
Danny is now free to enjoy his remaining human life before he joins the afterlife permanently. As much as he wanted to go and join NASA in space, he couldn’t even pass the physical exam to join the program. So, he took his sister’s advice to enjoy his life to the last bit this world has to offer. Even if he still wasn’t crowned king, he started acting king as well as attending various lessons to become king. Vlad offered Danny to be his heir at his company but he refused stating that being a king is already hard work. Add to the fact he had a limitless and infinite amount of funds that he could simply travel the world as many times as he wanted as well splurge money as if it was candy he would still have infinite funds in his treasury. He had joined his now daughter to enjoy the wonders of the world as well visiting and touring to the endless worlds that connected to the Infinite realms. But once he had finished his travels, he had exponentially grown into a fine man in his late 30s. Gaining Jack’s height whilst Maddie’s built, he is a very definition of a twink.
But he wanted to lay low, something mundane, something that can keep him busy as he was itching to do something ever since he returned to his hometown. As much as he had grown, he is still having the mind of an impulsive teen in his teens and threw a dart in which state to settle in and took a computer generator to choose which job to do.
Gotham and the janitor were the ones that showed up and landed a dart in. He thinks it is perfect as not many would be looking into a janitor.
He packed up his things and applied for a job in Gotham Academy as a janitor and immediately settled in his small apartment in Crime Alley when he received approval for his new job.
It has been a week in his new job and he couldn’t be prouder than being able to blend in without the use of his powers. Messing up his hair to make his head a rat’s nest as well as adding some soot in his face, hands, arms, and overalls to make him look like a homeless who had got the job out of pure luck as he kept his back hunch like Clark Kent, Yes he is not slick in hiding in plain sight as he had gotten away in inverted colors but those glasses are not doing a great job.
This new school year he felt that there has been a new buzz in the atmosphere as real Blood Wayne is now attending. The real son of Bruce Wayne one of the rumors said, he had observed in the far at the kid and he looked like his father aside from his colors.
He noticed the kid is not comfortable around the others who tried to talk to him. Broke some spoiled kid’s nose for talking too much about being friends in the right sort. Some girls tried to get close to him by touching his shoulder or being too near his bubble and broke the poor girl’s wrist. Talked too formally and weirdly that he didn’t have any friends aside from Superman’s son, honestly that poor disguise is being passed from Superman to the son at least Bruce Wayne has the sense to have separate personalities from his playboy persona to his Batman persona.
Honestly, he couldn’t even blame the kid for the things he had done that landed him in the principal’s office.
One day when he was taking his lunch in a hidden place in the academy when the door suddenly slammed open and quickly entered the Blood Prince aka Damian Wayne, and immediately relaxed at the door being shut. He quickly looked alarmed at the stranger in the same room but after telling to Damian that he is the school’s janitor by showing his id to prove immediately and visibly relaxed. But to Danny’s eyes, he still looked ready to pounce at Danny for breathing wrong.
A small grumble of stomach destroyed the tension in the room, as Damian Al Ghul Wayne began to feel embarrassed for not only forgetting his lunch, not noticing the janitor, and even being cornered by kids who wish him harm. Damian still didn’t understand why his father had forbade him to fight anyone who are disrespectful to him, leaving him no choice but to run like a coward. The janitor that he had seen a few times around the academy offered him his sandwich which he tries to deny as he is vegetarian, the janitor Daniel, pulled out a vegetarian sandwich that he kept, as he explained that it became a habit of him when his friend who is also a vegetarian forgot their lunch.
Reluctantly Damian received and thanked the janitor and hesitantly took a bite but was surprised at the flavor of the generous amount of vegetables as well as some substitutes that gave so much flavor. Then Daniel, call him Danny he insisted, and offered him a small Tupperware filled with various fruits as dessert. Both began to chat about mindless things up until the bell rang as a reminder at lunchtime ended. Danny called out that Damian is always welcome at this little hidden place to escape or just have a quiet time by himself, Damian just nodded silently and the next day Damian appeared at the door and asked for Danny’s permission to enter the room which Danny laughed and gestured Damian to enter.
From that day on a bond formed between the two.
Damian would spend his lunch breaks and free time in the safety of the hidden room and he is always greeted by Danny still in his soot-filled overalls and messy and rat-like hair in a corner. As they both eat their respective lunches each day, slowly but surely Damian became open to the humble janitor, He would pop different questions starting with the mundane and normal questions and about the vocabulary of normal teenagers that his brothers use some absurd words that left him frustrated at the meaning nor the action behind it. Danny happily answered Damian’s question as Damian would come home each day becoming a real boy.
This made some of the Wayne kids horrified at who taught this demon spawn what yeet means. Some cackled at what could they do to further corrupt Damian. Damian let the rest of his supposed siblings come up with whatever theory on how he learned such vocabulary as it was, he and Danny’s little island of secret and peace at school, away from his imbeciles of brothers as well his noisy classmates.
Danny stared at the piece of an envelope as if it had offended him. Vlad asked him if he could be his plus one at the upcoming Wayne gala for another charity by Bruce Wayne and since Brucie Wayne was not getting younger he had thrown a masquerade ball as a theme in the said gala since it was nearing the Halloween season. Danny had thought about denying the invite but with the thought of Vlad rarely asking Danny things he reluctantly called Sam. Despite distancing herself from her surname she kept some of her connections during her teens and got Danny a good tailor for a suit that resembles during the Victorian era with the color scheme black and silver add a toxic green and silver mask which he crafted himself that goes well with his suit that covers his entire upper face leaving his mouth and hair visible.
When Vlad picked him up, he noticed that he got him got slacked jawed at Danny’s overall appearance. Maybe it is because he had straightened up his back and showed his real height, maybe it’s because of his tiny waist that is visible despite wearing a full vest and suit or maybe it is because of the mysterious air that Danny seemed to surround him with as he demands command and respect just standing silently as he let Vlad gawk and compare between the badger and feral little shit during his teenage years to the person sitting across the limousine looking like a noble right out of the Victorian era.
Bruce didn’t pick for tonight’s gala theme but due to Dick’s insistence that Damian never actually experienced a masquerade ball along with Jason’s persuasion to attend the gala so that he could live out his nerd self-made, Bruce made it real. Now all of his children are scattered and he could see Tim at the edge of the window the verge of passing out. Dick drags Damian to enjoy the theme while Jason is releasing his inner theater kid using the other higher population of Gotham as his supposed audience for his dramatics. Since no one can see which masked guests contain the Waynes made it is easier to ignore and evade both media as well the upper socialite of Gotham.
He was about to grab a glass of champagne from the tray of a passing waiter when he fainted slipping to enter his Brucie persona when he was immediately grabbed from his waist as if to watch him.
As he is about to thank the man for catching him, he wasn’t about to slip, when he suddenly forgot how to talk.
A man a lot taller than Bruce himself has a slim build but Bruce could see some muscles that seem show themselves just for Bruce to see through, wearing a Victorian-style suit that seemed to complement the mask that covers the man’s entire upper face showing for Bruce to see a wolfish grin at him as a fluffy amount of hair rests on top of the man.
The man introduced himself as Nightgale and both men seemed to hit off. Both felt comfortable in each other’s company so they both escaped the main lobby that contains the guests as they both chat amicably at the porch without noticing the cold wind bothering the two. Bruce never once went into his Brucie persona nor he felt the man was lying.
Bruce was about to introduce himself when he heard the loud crashing of the window allowing Joker and his goons to enter the gala thus destroying the mood.
Bruce didn’t let it show but he is annoyed at the Joker’s timing as he tried to escape to change into Batman. Suddenly Nightgale grabbed him by the wrist and carried him outside bridal style, Bruce didn’t suddenly feel his heartbeat suddenly getting faster he didn’t feel his ears getting warmer as Nightgale seem to carry him out to safety, no he didn’t. Some goons tried to stop the two but Nightgale continued after he had quickly disposed of the goons that blocked their way. He didn’t feel his heart skip a beat at the fact that this man seemed to protect Bruce, the Batman like he was some princess in need of saving.
Both he and Nightgale suddenly found themselves in a hidden garden that only the Waynes knew of. Bruce didn’t feel his breath taken away by this mysterious man when he let Bruce onto his feet once again as the moon shines at them making Nightgale look so ethereal.
As soon as Nightgale heard the stroke of midnight he left Bruce after kissing the back of his hand as he kneeled in revelry.
Bruce didn’t freeze at the spot; Bruce didn’t get himself tranced at the event and had Alfred fetch him and drove him back to the manor. Bruce didn’t act like a girl in high school, squealing at having her crush notice her and ask her out as he sat behind the car back to the manor.
After teasing their father at his predicament, they are now invested in the man who seemingly took their father’s attention as well as able to develop some sort of crush on him at the gala. Jason is fully invested as he read too many novels and now sees Bruce as a main character in need of help to find his prince charming.
Danny is just minding his own business as he kept sneezing at random times and asked himself if the dead can get sick.

Complete List of My Works
Currently Writing (Fanfic)
🩸🖤Flesh and Blood🖤🩸 (My Hero Academia)
Are monsters born, or made? Is Toga Himiko a monster, for having natural urges? Is Midoriya Izumi a monster, for needing to eat?
This is the story of two monsters, driven into the shadows of society by circumstances beyond their control. This is the story of how a vampire and a ghoul found solace in one another, and the story of how it was torn away.
👁Midoriya Izuku, The Ceaseless Watcher👁 (My Hero Academia, The Magnus Archives)
Midoriya Izuku is a creepy kid.
He wasn't always like that: for the first decade of his life he was just a regular Quirkless kid. But something happened, and it changed him. Now people are made uneasy by his very gaze, he knows things he shouldn't, and his scores in English are perfect.
For his part, Izuku tries to be friendly, but people are always put off by his eyes. Aside from Hatsume Mei, the dubiously sane inventor, and Nedzu, the principal of the greatest Heroics school in Japan, that is.
Honestly? Izuku just wanted to go into hero analysis. But the Dread Powers very rarely care about the desires of humans.
🧪The Quirk Doctor🧪 (My Hero Academia)
A spate of disappearances, culminating in the death of a Pro Hero, leave Detective Tsukauchi Naomasa and Shouta Aizawa scrambling to keep up as the destruction grows and the bodies pile higher and higher.
Meanwhile, a Quirkless teen works for the Boogieman of the Underworld, using his grim experiments to get revenge on a world that shunned him.
All For One, Destro, The Peerless Thief - the greatest supervillains in history. Midoriya Izuku will stop at nothing to ensure that his own name is among them. Hero society will learn to fear The Quirk Doctor.
💫Portraits Hung in Empty Halls💫 (My Hero Academia)
The suicide of Midoriya Izuku, and the consequences thereof.
💀He Kindly Stopped For Me💀 (My Hero Academia, The Magnus Archives)
Ruminations on death with one who has seen too much of it, too young.
🐍A Serpentine Twist of Fate🐍 (The Owl House)
In one universe, a teenage Luz Noceda would find her way to the Boiling Isles, meeting the Owl Lady Eda, and living in the Owl House.
This is not that universe.
In this universe, Eda Clawthorne, an intelligent but unmotivated student of Gravesfield Middle School, winds up in the Demon Realm after following a strange purple snake through a portal. There, she meets the Snake Lady, Luz Noceda, self-proclaimed most powerful witch of the Boiling Isles, her roommate, King, and the demon inhabiting their house, Hissy. From the Snake House, they find adventure and trouble, all in the name of rebelling against the Emperor Belos and the head of his personal coven, Amity Blight.
🕸Master of Puppets🕸 (My Hero Academia, The Magnus Archives)
A Web connects heroes, villains, and civilians alike. Midoriya Izuku sits at the centre of it all.
💚Paths That Cross💚 (My Hero Academia)
They say one bad day can change anyone's life. For Midoriya Izumi, this is demonstrably true. In one day she lost both the last remnants of her dreams, and her mother. The one good part of the day was meeting Kan Himito, a handsome young UA student, and the first person in years to show her genuine kindness.
Himito had a rough upbringing as the scion of the Toga family. But with his adopted father behind him, he has stepped into a brighter future as a UA student. That is, until an overly obsessed face from his past turns up when he least expects her to, sending them into a twisting, turning plot.
Caught between hero and villain, will they be able to make it through intact?
💥For the Love of Explosions!💥 (My Hero Academia, Konosuba)
Tremble in awe, mortal, for you stand in the presence of the greatest hero and mage in existence, Midoriya Izumi!
At least, that's how Izumi always introduces herself. But when she arrives at UA with a Quirk that wipes her out for the whole day if she uses it to its fullest extent, she finds that she may be more of a liability than an asset. With Vlad King and the rest of 1-B on her side, can she learn to overcome her self-imposed boundaries, or will she be forced to hang up her staff and eyepatch before she can even start her career?
⏳A Slip in Time for Nine⏳ (My Hero Academia)
UA really was different than Midoriya Izuku thought. There were so many heroes he didn't recognise, the exam was different to what he'd expected, and they didn't even have him down to take the exam!
Fortunately, he felt he passed with flying colours. But when he returns home to find his apartment block is still under construction, Izuku may find that he is in a completely different time entirely!
Will he be able to return to his own time? And after he makes friends with Shirakumo Oboro, Aizawa Shouta and Yamada Hizashi, wiill he even want to?
🐈The Nine Lives of Midoriya Izumi🐈 (My Hero Academia)
Midoriya Izumi is something of an odd child. Unreactive, unbothered by most stimuli, and seemingly constantly calm. But Izumi has a secret. While, on paper, her Quirk, Cat, simply gives her feline trait, it is actually a little more involved than that.
Because Izumi is not a human. She is a cat with a Quirk, one that allows her to turn into a human.
With One for All, Izumi will strive to do the most human thing of all: become a hero!
👑Taking Back The Crown👑 (My Hero Academia)
Midoriya Izuku, born to the greatest villain in history, dubs himself Successor, and intends to reclaim his father's crumbling empire, and no one will stand in his way.

Or
5 times Izuku gets a visitor in Tartarus, and 1 time he remembers why he's there.
🖤Dragging the Skeleton Out of the Closet🖤 (My Hero Academia)
Midoriya Izuku was a strange child, always preferring the feminine over the masculine. Of course, in a society such as this, that type of thing could hardly be encouraged.

Izuku always loved the night sky.
It loved him too.
Even when the terrible thoughts started to tear their way into his head.
🖤Binary Apotheosis🖤 (My Hero Academia)
Midoriya Izuku is a failure at life. He lives in a crappy apartment, he works at a dead-end job and every time he finds a better opportunity he is turned away because of the big red QUIRKLESS on his documents.
With a life like that, who wouldn't jump at the opportunity to escape, to become like a god?
When You're Just Memory (My Hero Academia)
And I know, I know that I'm wrong That when you're gone, you're gone and I can't bring you home But I want, I want to believe That you'll remember me when you're just memory

All For One's Christmas Carol (My Hero Academia)
Christmas. A time of peace, love and hope.
For the Symbol of Evil, however, it was merely an excuse for citizens to celebrate, trying to ignore the looming threat of villains.
However, when the ghost of his dead brother walks into his study, he is taken on a journey that will forever change him.
🖤Go On Back to Bed, My Love (That’s Where Dreams Are Supposed to Be)🖤 (My Hero Academia)
Kyouka loved Izuku with her entire being. He was the perfect man, the sweet to her sour, not to mention built like a Greek statue. She wanted to be intimate with him, to show him just how much he means to her.
Except... she couldn’t. Every time they tried, she just couldn’t.
It wasn’t him. So it must have been her.
What was wrong with her?
The Masochism Tango (My Hero Academia)
Midoriya Izuku was an upstanding hero, a paragon of virtue, the shining beacon of his class.
Toga Himiko was a bloodthirsty, deranged villain, hell bent on carving a path of destruction and murder.
And yet, when they clashed, it was like a beautiful, deadly dance, one that no one else could see, for they would not understand.
🖤Cancer; or, Goodbye🖤 (My Hero Academia)

But she would do anything for her Izukkun.
Don’t Worry, You and Me Won’t Be Alone No More (My Hero Academia)
Izuku would never have considered himself a lonely person. Sure, the closest person he had to a friend was his mother, and his own childhood friend had turned on him years ago, but he never really felt alone.
Until, that is, he met Toga Himiko, and realised how alone they both were.
Together, they will face adversity, always supporting one another, and come out on top.
False Friend (My Hero Academia, The Magnus Archives)
In times of trouble, people will take any help offered to them, even if it's from someone as strange as Izuku. But such bargains very rarely go well, and even if someone such as him has showed you kindness before, it does not mean you should let your guard down around him.
This is a lesson UA does not learn until it is too late.
Awakening (My Hero Academia)
Izuku was rather accident prone. This is a fact known by anyone who has spent more than five minutes around him. It seemed like he couldn't go outside without running into some kind of trouble. So when he comes back after a trip out, having been hit by a Quirk that changed his body, it was rather par for the course.
But ever since it wore off, he couldn't shake the feeling that something wasn't quite right, and that nothing will be the same again.
Or, Izuku accidentally transes his gender and finds out something interesting about herself
💀Nevermore💀 (My Hero Academia, The Magnus Archives)
In the wake of the attack on Hosu, Izuku and Nedzu meet to discuss the fallout.
🕸Panopticon🕸 (My Hero Academia, The Magnus Archives)
Midoriya Izuku was many things to many people.
To Nedzu, however, he was a bright, if shy, student, one who he felt a kinship with. And one who fed into his worst instincts.
🕸Isolation🕸 (My Hero Academia, The Magnus Archives)
Shinsou Hitoshi wasn't at UA to make friends.
When he takes Midoriya Izuku's invitation to train for the sports festival, however, that changes slightly.
Perhaps Shinsou has one friend.

But now it has returned, and it falls upon Inspector 2nd class Aizawa Shouta to dig into the events surrounding the incident, and uncover the truth. But has he bit off more than he can chew? And when the secrets of the Bifrost are revealed to him, will he be able to cope?
Once and Future King (The Mechanisms, My Hero Academia)
High Noon Over Camelot, and the Midoriya gang rides into town. They claim the town for themselves and, for a while, all is well. But when a wandering preacher man warns them all of their imminent firey destruction, they must journey to find the GRAIL. As trouble brews at home, will Izuku be able to hold his people together? Or will they all fall into the flames?
💫Eyes That Know The Darkness In My Soul💫 (My Hero Academia)

Aizawa Shouta never wanted to leave Eri alone. But he was needed elsewhere, and Midoriya Izuku stepped in to help.
But maybe Eri wasn't the only one affected by his presence.
Deceitful Reflections (My Hero Academia)
There is a reflection in Izumi's mirror. It is not her own.
Planned Works (Longfics)
(NB: All descriptions here subject to change)
🎲Placeholder Name: The Gamemaster🎲 (My Hero Academia)
UA’s Class 1-A is kidnapped by a mysterious criminal calling themselves “The Gamemaster”. Not too long after, the first invitations are sent out to the players. Will they be able to rescue the class by playing the Gamemaster’s twisted games?
☣Placeholder Name: The Engineer☣ (My Hero Academia)
Izuku loved Quirks. They were amazing, truly.
He also hated them, hated how they twisted people’s minds and society’s views.
Working with likeminded people, he will rectify that.
🔪Untitled Danganronpa Crossover🔪 (My Hero Academia, Danganronpa)
UA is a beacon of hope to the world, a light for the future attracting the best and brightest of a generation and turning them into the next greatest heroes.
So when its newly accepted Class 1-A awakens in a sealed building with no memory of how they arrived there, that hope will be pushed to its limits. Will it prevail? Or will the world fall to despair?
💻The AI Hero: IZUKU💻 (My Hero Academia)
Whatever Nedzu had expected from the new school year, it was not for a representative of one of the biggest support companies in the world to approach him, requesting that he finish Midoriya Inko’s final project: an AI that she named IZUKU.
Well, this should be interesting.
🌲Placeholder Name: Disgraced Hero AU🌲 (My Hero Academia)
Izuku was the Number One Hero.
Emphasis on the was.
After a series of controversies, he had retired to live a solitary life in the woods. But now a new threat looms, one which his old classmates need his help to defeat. But will they be able to convince him to don the mantle of Deku once more?
💣Placeholder Name: JDzuku💣 (My Hero Academia, Heathers)
UA really was everything Ochako dreamed it would be. Classes were hard, sure, but learning to be a hero was what she had always wanted. And she had even made a friend, Midoriya in Gen Ed!
And not even a suicide could ruin that. But when things escalate, she will find herself forced to choose between her morals, and her budding romance.
💰Placeholder Name: Phantom Thief Izuku💰 (My Hero Academia)
Despite his Quirklessness, Izuku had given his all to get to UA. But it wasn’t good enough.
A chance encounter after a disastrous entrance exam leads Izuku down a rather unexpected, not-entirely-legal path of heroism.
After all, you don’t need a Quirk to be a phantom thief, or a gentle criminal.
🃏Untitled Persona 5 Crossover🃏 (My Hero Academia, Persona 5)
Izuku was Quirkless. Everyone knew it. He knew it, the school knew it, even Boss knew it.
So he couldn’t possibly be the mysterious Phantom Thief of Hearts, could he?
🎉Make Them Laugh🎉 (My Hero Academia)
Fukukado.
When Shouta saw that name on the entrance exam’s examinee list, he nearly tendered his resignation there and then. Unfortunately, he could not and, sure enough, Fukukado Izuku, the green-haired menace, ended up in his class.
This was going to be a long three years.
🔧Placeholder Name: Mechadoriya🔧 (My Hero Academia)
UA’s Support Course students were well known for having... a screw loose, to say the least.
They hadn’t seen the likes of Midoriya Izuku yet.
He would be a hero, even if he had to rely on support gear, such as grappling hooks, capture weapons.... oh, and a 10 foot tall mech.
Tumblr media
🗝A Hero’s Heart🗝 (My Hero Academia, Kingdom Hearts)
Izuku was Quirkless. That had been confirmed when he was 4.
And yet, here he was, swinging around a giant key that had just appeared in his hands. That had to be a Quirk, right?
Maybe it was the Quirk of that guy who looked like a mouse?
❤If I Killed Someone For You❤ (My Hero Academia)
Izuku wanted to be a hero. He always had, and he had achieved what seemed to be an impossible goal.
Toga Himiko was a villain. She was the kind of person Izuku was supposed to catch.
And yet... why does being with her make him feel so much better than he does at UA?
👻Placeholder Name: Say My Name👻 (My Hero Academia, Beetlejuice)
Shouto was at the end of his rope. He couldn’t handle another minute of the bastard that called himself his father. Fuyumi and Natsuo tried, but even they couldn’t help. He was ready to end it all.
So who’s this green-haired kid, why is he calling himself a demon, and why does he think he can get rid of Endeavor for good?
🐝Placeholder Name: Woe, Bees Be Upon Ye🐝 (My Hero Academia)
Unbeknownst to everyone, one of Queen Bee’s bees managed to escape the efforts of the Naruhata Vigilantes. Weakened and lost after the fall of the Villain Factory, she stumbles across a small, green-haired child.
She wouldn’t normally take a male host, but sometimes needs must. And besides, perhaps this time, she could play a longer game.
Her hive would rise again.
☠Memento Mortem☠ (My Hero Academia, Return of the Obra Dinn)
Naomasa was a detective. One of the best in Tokyo, in fact. But when a series of mysterious murders stumps him, he has to admit that he can’t solve this one alone.
Fortunately, Midoriya, one of the rookies, has an ideal Quirk for this situation.
🦊Untitled Kitsune Izuku Fic🦊 (My Hero Academia)
(NB: Concept inspired heavily by @deusvervewrites‘ Tamama No Mom AU)
Izuku was reasonably sure he was going to be the first Yōkai to be a hero. Not that anyone was going to know, of course. His mom had spent enough time teaching him to hide his presence.
Still, he’d know.
🛸Placeholder Name: The Earth’s Hero: Izuku🛸 (My Hero Academia, Doctor Who)
When he was four, Izuku was diagnosed as Quirkless. Unable to see her son so dejected, Inko called up an old friend of hers: a traveller known as the Doctor.
With his brain and his heart, Izuku will become a hero, Quirk or no. And maybe, just maybe, he’ll save the universe along the way.
❔Composite Character❔ (My Hero Academia)
Even in a world as diverse as theirs, Midoriya Izu had a unique Quirk. One that connected them to countless other versions of themselves, spread out across the multiverse. For as long as they could remember, they’d been using it to solve just about any problem. With the help of their other selves, they could become an expert in any science, fighting style and various other random skills.
But just who was Izu themself, besides a mere conduit?
🔫Untitled Parental Nagant Fic🔫 (My Hero Academia)
Midoriya Izuku lost both his parents in a fire that consumed their home when he was only 5.
Tsutsumi Kaina was a hero, whatever that meant anymore, and was having the worst day of her life. She was ready to do something drastic.
When a chance meeting brings these two people together, a new path opens for both of them. And while Izuku proves that all you need to be a hero is a deadly aim, Kaina will show the world that, perhaps, Lady Nagant still has a part to play in the light.
♥♦♠♣Izuku in Borderland♣♠♦♥ (My Hero Academia, Alice in Borderland)
Midoriya Izuku was having a normal day; chasing hero fights, avoiding his classmates, the usual. As he crossed the Shibuya Crossing, however, his world went dark.
He awoke in a deserted Tokyo, where he will have to play deadly games to survive and, hopefully, return to his normal life.
🕳Placeholder Name: Warpzuku🕳 (My Hero Academia)
Izuku’s Quirk had always been odd. The ability to make objects appear out of thin air was a useful one, even though he’d never quite figured out how it worked.
Once he gets into UA, however, he begins to experiment, and accidentally embarks on a journey across the multiverse, meeting countless versions of himself in his quest to return to his own universe.
🍀Placeholder Name: Faezuku🍀 (My Hero Academia)
As a child, Midoriya Izuku wandered into the forests near his home, and disappeared.
Now, a decade later, he returns on the eve of UA’s entrance exam with a number of new powers, and a very strange idea of social etiquette.
Even an outsider could tell that Izuku wasn’t exactly all-human. But can a half-fae still become a hero?
🌌Placeholder Name: Vastzuku🌌 (My Hero Academia, The Magnus Archives)
Nedzu was widely considered to be one of the smartest beings in Japan. This meant he knew when his paws were tied.
After the unmitigated disaster of the USJ Incident, he realises just how unprepared he and his staff are for dealing with the coming darkness. But how far will he go to protect his school?
Far enough to strike a deal with a centuries-old servant of a primordial god of fear, it seems.
🔥Placeholder Name: Desolationzuku🔥 (My Hero Academia, The Magnus Archives)
Of all the things Nedzu expected to turn up at UA one night, a desperate teenager fleeing from a cult was not one of them. Midoriya Izuku may be... unique, to say the least, but what kind of heroes would they be if they did not help those who asked?
Or, Izuku is born to be the Messiah of the Lightless Flame. He is not on board with this destiny.
🗡Placeholder Name: Slaughterzuku🗡 (My Hero Academia, The Magnus Archives)
Midoriya Izuku was an angry person.
You wouldn’t be able to tell at first glance; he hid it well, pushing his rage down deep inside of him. But with every taunt, every jeer, every push, his anger grew, and it was getting harder to keep it down.
And when a voice in his head starts telling him exactly what he could do with it, he may not be strong enough to hold himself back.
🐺Placeholder Name: Huntzuku🐺 (My Hero Academia, The Magnus Archives)
For Izuku, inheriting All Might’s Quirk was a dream come true.
Sure, it came with weird dreams and urges, but he could still be a hero, right?
When Izuku’s new Quirk fills him with the urge to hunt, he meets a strange girl, who introduces him to the life of a Hunter. Together, they will defeat nightmares, and run from a society that seems only to want to suppress their desires.
💓Placeholder Name: Cultzuku💓 (My Hero Academia)
When Uravity announced her sudden break from heroics, barely a year after she began, Shouta was suspicious.
Those suspicions increased when she revealed she was to be staying in an isolated forest community.
Upon initial inspection, it was an idyllic haven away from the bustle of modern life. But was there a darker undercurrent, or was Shouta’s suspicions getting too ahead of him?
🧟Placeholder Name: Zombie Hero Team🧟 (My Hero Academia, Zombie Land Saga)
Despite being Quirkless, 15-year-old Midoriya Izuku had been accepted to UA! In the General Education course, admittedly, but there were ways to get into Heroics from there! This was the first step in his path to being a hero!
And then, on his first day, he was run over by a truck, killing him instantly.
He wakes up nearly a decade later, dazed and confused. He meets Nedzu, Mr. Principal, who explains that he is a zombie, and that he, along with six others, must unite to become the greatest hero team Japan has ever seen!
How hard can it be?
Planned Works (One-Shots)
(NB: All descriptions here subject to change)
I Didn’t Lose It (I Set It Free) (My Hero Academia)
Himiko was tired of being normal. She had pretended her whole life, but now, she wanted to shed the mask. She wanted to be herself.
Lord Knows I’ve Said Awful Things ‘Round This House (My Hero Academia)
To a man such as Sasaki Mirai, the world was rigid, unmoving. The past and future were both set in stone. All that was left was to focus on making the present as good as possible.
When We Find Out What’s Wrong With Me (Could You Tell Me How I’m Right For You?) (My Hero Academia)
Shouta was clearly the worst choice to take care of a child. Hell, he could barely take care of himself. But, Centipeder had insisted that he was the only choice, and he was damned if he failed Eri like the world already had. So, he’d give it his best shot.
How hard could parenting be, anyway?
Social Climb (My Hero Academia)
Momo had been raised in high society. She had known proper etiquette and poise for years, and knew that, one day, she’d inherit the Yaoyorozu empire. She had to make a good impression now. And she was happy with her lot in life. She was.
So why did Izuku make her feel more alive than ever before?
💫The Ragged Men in Ragged Clothes💫 (My Hero Academia)
When Yagi Toshinori was asked if a Quirkless person could be a hero, he was struck by a vision of his own past. He gave the boy the answer he had been told all his life, too lost in his own memories to realise the impact of his words.
When that boy turned up dead that night, he knew exactly the mistake he had made.
💫Perhaps They’ll Listen Now💫 (My Hero Academia)
When she heard the news of her beloved son’s suicide, Inko thought she would shatter. She almost did, but slowly, and surely, she managed to pick up the pieces of herself.
Now, she had a mission: make sure no mother would ever have to feel her pain again.
When You Feel Embarrassed, I’ll Be Your Pride (My Hero Academia)
Izuku had been interested in Quirks ever since he was a kid. He had spent hours analysing them, picking them apart and seeing how they ticked. He’d never expected it to be any more than a hobby.
When he noticed how Kaminari-kun struggled with his own Quirk, however, he couldn’t help but offer his services.
Every Word I Say is Kindling (The Smoke Clears When You’re Around) (My Hero Academia)
Izuku was never an angry person. No, that was Kacchan’s role. He, on the other hand, was the sweet one, the kind one, the one who would always turn the other cheek.
And yet, when he heard what Endeavor put his family through, he felt true rage for the first time.
Je Peux Pas Te Dire Adieu (My Hero Academia)
Kacchan was Izuku’s friend!
It didn’t matter that he hurt him occasionally, or that he belittled him. That was just his way of showing affection, after all.
It was Kacchan and Izuku, to the end!

What do you think abt Hunter and Willow visiting the golden guard graveyard under the bridge and making some sort of memorial like willow grows a pretty tree or something. Kinda edgy and definitely tough for hunter but could be something
I think that's a lovely idea!!
I feel like, while he would be unable to handle going there right now when the wounds are still so fresh, once he has a little more time to heal and come to terms with what he's experienced, I could absolutely imagine Hunter wanting to visit the graveyard. It would be tough for him but he would still want to do it.
Hunter has never been told anything about his family, other than they were killed by wild magic. (Which isn't exactly a lie now that I think about it. In Belos's mind, that probably was why they died. They were all seduced by the sin of magic so he had to kill them.) He probably often wondered what they were like and mourned the fact that he would never know them. The typical emptiness of an orphan. And obviously Belos was never going to tell him shit so these people always felt like anonymous ghosts to Hunter.
But this graveyard brings him a little semblance of connection to them. I believe that while Hunter is absolutely a boy who belongs to a found family, he will begin to see these slaughtered guards as his biological brothers and will try to make sure that they are never forgotten. Their names and faces and voices are lost to the sands of time but Hunter wants to honor them, both their lives and their deaths. He learns everything he can about the last Golden Guard from Darius and tries to track down anyone old enough who may have known the one that came before that. Scraps of information on two out of hundreds of dead men is not a lot but its something. Hunter refuses to allow their legacy to be that of disposable soldiers. They were people and Belos had hurt them too.
He would visit the graveyard and Willow would come along, absolutely. She is very good at bringing life to a barren wasteland. Gus would come too, because his presence makes Hunter feel stronger. Luz would be there because she was there the first time Hunter set eyes on this place and she understands the horror in a way nobody else can. Depending on how close Hunter becomes with her during their time in the Human Realm, maybe Amity comes too. His whole support system. And Flapjack. Obviously Flapjack.
Anyway I have a lot of feelings about Hunter's relationship with the history of the Golden Guard and how he chooses to cope with it.

Amity’s hair is abomination colored. W-which I knew too, I realized it the moment I saw it! I just never commented on it because, uh… Look! Character growth!
So Amity finally got around to telling her dad she doesn’t want to join the Emperor’s Coven. It’s unclear, but I don’t think she told him that she doesn’t want to join ANY coven… which is probably a good idea. We gotta ease into things, it’s a little early to say ”Hey dad, when grow up, I want to become a criminal and overthrow the government.”
It’s a start.
Which is the thing to take away from this scene. We don’t get a conclusion, we get a start. A beginning of things getting better…hopefully.
Like I said before, Alador has not been the most involved with his family, far too busy focusing on his work. Which leaves Odalia, who tries to exert an unhealthy level of control over her kids (well, Ed & Em seem like they do what they want, so maybe it’s mostly Amity). She even tires to control the color of her daughter’s hair.
(side note about Amity’s hair: her natural hair color is brown, like her dad. and now she’s colored her hair purplish-pink like abomination goop. signifying that despite him being very absent, she is still closer to her dad in some ways?)
Amity’s words about Alador not talking to them anymore indicates that things weren’t always like this. That it was at some point over the years that he became busier and more obsessed with his work. Odalia might’ve had something to do with it; we know she is very ambitious and obsessed with status. But of course… the price we pay to be classed as elite is that we become like the others.
Still, Alador is an adult and a parent, he has responsibilities toward his family. Not just to provide for his children, but also to nurture them. He seems to realize some of the errors of his ways and promises to do better. Or at least try to make things better. It’s late and maybe too little… but it’s a start.

I talked about this place before and what it might mean to revisit it in this episode. And most of it didn’t go anywhere I think. But I want to bring up something
I mentioned the changing seasons before, that it was fall. I wrote something that I then erased and rewrote because it felt a little too grim. I don’t remember the exact thing I wrote, but it was something like ”Fall brings to mind death or dying.”
Which… yeah. Considering the reveal thirty seconds later… I kinda wish I went with that.

This is beautiful.
It’s not the same thing and Luz is right in that it won’t ever reach the Human Realm. But it eases her mind.
(i guess there’s also the imagery of sending something into the sky and the idea of heaven and all that)
I’m pretty sure that this is the first time Amity has ever drawn a glyph. We saw her use one of Luz’ invisibility spells earlier (correct me if I’m wrong, but I think that was the first time she ever used a glyph?), but this is the first time she’s drawn one. And… it looked about as good as any of the glyphs I could draw (again, just wait until you see my new conspiracy corner).

My snake daughter!
Vee is hanging out in her regular form I see. Now, I do know she gets another human form at some point, I’ve been spoiled on that much. Which makes sense, I figure it might be a little awkward for her and Camila both if she went back to looking like Luz.
More importantly though, Camila places a flower in a vase. It looks like the same kind of flower that Luz made, but white instead of pink. And that vase looks a lot like the abomination balloon Amity made. Cool detail, showing the connection between them.
There might be some symbolism with that flower, but I don’t know anything about flowers. I know I’m from Sweden, but we can’t all be Carl von Linné.

And so comes to and end episode fourteen, with Luz & Camila both looking up at the night sky, thinking of what they have lost.
Except the sky in the Demon Realm looks prettier because there is less light pollution.
As per usual, I did my rewatch of the episode and here are some things I either missed or didn’t talk about my first time through:
•Luz actually names the new glyph combo she learned in this episode The Safety Hover… and I somehow didn’t hear it and has been calling it Fall Break instead. Whoops. •Luz asks Hunter if he’s good now. I initially misinterpreted it as meaning ”are you okay/unharmed now?” But no, she was asking if he was a good person now, which is one hundred times funnier. •The book on abomination creation Alador is holding in the first scene between him and Amity is written by Darius, and if you look on the back, it looks like it might be a signed copy. I’m going to headcanon that it’s like an introductory-level book Darius wrote for students that he sent signed to Alador. I mean, why else would Alador have it? •I pointed out that the announcer at the Bonesbororugh Brawl was the leader of the demon hunters who first appeared in Hooty’s Moving Hassle and I pointed out that one of the security guards at the event was the wild witch being arrested in Eda’s Requiem. But the demon standing next to her also made an appearance in Hooty’s Moving Hassle. He was the one tasked with pushing the kids off the cliff. Something he apparently always dreamed of doing. So not really the guy who should be doing security at big events. •Actually, I went back and checked, and the purple-haired wild witch is part of the demon hunters in that episode. •Eda has much better control over her harpy transformation, implying she has either been training or eating a lot more voles since Eclipse Lake. •I really like the music during the tournament/ingredient collection montage. •I obviously didn’t bring it up in the moment, because I was trying to keep things somber, but I am ever so slightly amused by the text in Luz’ event reminder. At: Gravesfield Graveyard. Gravesfield Graveyard. Those words mean basically the same thing. •We also got to see half of Luz’ dad’s face. •I also love the acting in that scene, I don’t give the VA:s the credit they deserve, Sarah-Nicole Robles who plays Luz did an excellent job in that scene. She always does a great job, but this was extra great. The animation was great too, for that matter. •I don’t think I pointed out Alador’s proud smile when he and Amity do their combo attack to restrain War Wrath. •I don’t think I’ve noticed before that Eda grows quite a bit in height when she’s transformed into her harpy form, I only noticed when she transformed back while standing next to Alador. •We got a look at a calendar in the Human Realm. Based on the markings, the anniversary of Camila’s husband’s death is on the 22nd of August. And according to that thing I bought years ago and literally never used until today, the 22nd of August 2020 is a Saturday. Except the day marked is clearly a Tuesday. This means the series can’t take place in 2020, which is what I’ve been thinking. This means that the series actually takes place in 2017, 2023, 2034, 2045, 2048, or 2051. This revelation means some of the dates on my conspiracy corner are wrong.
There is another brief moment I want to acknowledge, mostly because someone pointed it out in the comments. When threatening Wrath, she referred to Luz as her student/child. The reason I didn’t bring it up was because it was pretty much stated in Eda’s Requiem that Eda thinks of Lus* as her child. So hearing Eda say it wasn’t so surprising. The one thing that is kinda notable is that she said it not just in front of Wrath, but also in front of King. And King is not exactly known for keeping his mouth shut. This makes me wonder… if it might be brought up to Luz some time soon that Eda feels that way about her, cause I don’t think she quite realize it yet.
(*did I seriously misspell Luz as Lus? Who am I, the swedish dub?)
(yeah, the swedish dub pronounces Luz as Lus. Which means louse)
Anyways, this was a great episode. The big stand-out moment was of course… that scene. Where Luz told Amity about her dad. Just everything about it was perfect. I loved it and also hated it because it made me feel sad.
We got to see Amity’s dad get involved, and not just in the plot of an episode, but in his daughter’s life. In a positive way too, at least in the end.
As for Luz… while she did eventually open up about the stuff with her dad and why she was so distracted… the underlying issue of her avoiding and not talking about the things that trouble her with the people that love her and want to help wasn’t really addressed. I think this is something that we’ll see a return to in a future episode.
That’s about what I have to say for now. Stay tuned for a little while longer though, because I have some more things I want to show you. As for when I’ll get to the next episode… I’m not sure. I’m going to be working for a few days in a row and I have other stuff to do as well (can you guys believe it’s almost Christmas?? I’m not ready!).
With that said… I’m The Lampman, and until next time, take care of the planet Earth and remember that anything can happen in space!
