Anyone else having an absolutely unhinged week or is that just me

#i have gone from having a reliable and secure professional job with a pension plan and benefits to completely unemployed in 4 days #(by choice. i got in an argument with my boss about responsibilities and i was like ‘look this is stressing me out to an insane level #and i don’t think i can do this. i don’t think i’m right for this. i’m going to resign’ and now i’m looking for retail jobs)#and on some level i regret it. like there’s so many things i never got chance to do and maybe i should’ve given it longer?#but my boss wasn’t budging and didn’t try to convince me to stay and i was just like.. fuck this #and literally every time i’ve seen my best friend this week (which has been several times because we’ve both just been like ‘do you want to #go for a walk so we can scream in the countryside?’ and the other person has been like ‘omg yes’) she’s had a fresh tragedy to tell me about #her niece had a miscarriage; her sister-in-law (niece’s mom) is booking herself into a hospice and both family dogs are sick #one is wearing a cone and might have to lose her eye; the other is probably dying #it’s just way too much #and i accidentally insulted her daughter’s dad and the little girl shouted ‘MY DADDY!’ indignantly #and i was like.. oh god. why did i never think about the fact that of Course she can understand me #and yeah her dad is a waste of space but she does usually see him at least once or twice a week and she adores him #it is not up to any of us to poison her against him. we shouldn’t be doing that. this situation is fraught enough #like it is bad enough that he wants to take my friend to court to get unsupervised visits….. if she cheerfully says ‘auntie ellen said daddy #is a bastard’ anywhere in his vicinity this shit is about to go pearshaped #i just am so tired. i want to abscond. i wish i’d stayed in america #i think next steps are like.. recharge. do some autumn cleaning (sort out clothes & donate old stuff i don’t wear to charity).#apply to retail jobs until i get something that isn’t awful and then just sit in it until i come up with a phd idea and can abscond #but in the meantime if you need me i’ll be watching daytime tv in my blankie #personal

I am happy work is easy and boring but fun and I’m happy there #I think I’m still in the phase of isolation post Covid that this is me just exited to be outside again #like sure I’ve gone places but now it’s like I’m going places and working and standing and seeing all kinds of people and remembering they a #also have lives of their own #there are teachers and moms and business men and people getting divorced and people printing trump court documents and putting them in a #binder yes that really happened today idk why this old couple was doing this or why they thought I’d want to hear about it #anyways yeah. people are everywhere you can find community anywhere love is endless #📤

i'm dogsitting for my neighbor, and the dog has Had Enough Of Me coming over; she wants her parents back (i can't do anything about) so she's decided to be naughty.

she gets to eat 1-2 tomatoes from the backyard per day, but she knows that if she asks to go outside to potty, she can run to the tomato bush and chomp a few and i can't really stop her (this dog weighs 60 pounds and i am afraid she will bite me if i try to stop her)

i've got 3 more days of this and i'm terrified she's going to dogbarf a bunch of tomatoes or get a stomach ache and cry and i can't even say "i told you so" bc the dog won't understand. she'll just think "where's my mom and why does my stomach hurt and why does this stupid girl keep coming here" :(

#the secret world of merry mac #doggo eats breakfast at 6am then lunch at noon then dinner at 6pm. i've also been going over at about 9pm to let her out for #her bedtime potty (i don't think the dog should have to hold it for 12 hours) so i've been over there A LOT and it's making me a bit crazy #the neighbors' house is SO CLEAN and so spare that there's not even paper towels around??? thank gd they had tissues around #remember when marge simpson was so stressed out that her hair started falling out in clumps? that's how i feel about this dogsitting gig #there's motion-activated cameras pointed at every door (and there's one IN the house pointed at the front door) and so every #time i go to their house... the husband gets a text notification (i think??) and they're away for a sensitive court case and i just #hope they're not freaking out why i'm in the house 4x a day (i made the decision about the 9pm bathroom thing on my own)#(bc they're paying me waaay more than necessary for a really simple dogsitting job so i feel like. i ought to hang out with their #dog so they're not just paying me $$$ for just coming in to put food in a dish y'know?)
