as much as i dislike a lot of the backstory re-writes in darkest dungeon 2, i still think it's cute that plague doctor loses stress when she sees her professor cough up blood. you can take the freak actions away from the scientist but you cannot take away the freak behaviour.

#to head this off at the curve. 'pd frankensteins her professor in dd2 how is that not freak action' well you see #the original comic heavily implies she tested poisons on him and then dissected his body once he died to check the results #and i miss that version of her so much #anyways. enabled cheats on my game file so i could increase the anim speed by 1.5x and it's now way more bearable to sit through #i hear that the game is a lot more fun once you unlock everything so. im brute-forcing it #that said. i will never forgive red hook for. so many of these writing choices. and honestly also the game design choices #not even going to get the dlc. the hasty add-in crusader is nothing to me. red hook you should AT LEAST stick to your guns and keep him MIA #BUT LIKE WHATEVER. good for the crusader fans i guess #i get to see jester do his gay little poses whenever he gets buffed so i guess we all have our own wins #beepbeep.txt #darkest dungeon

Man that DLC's final boss has got me feeling kinda fucked. I'm kinda depressed about it now that I'm done. Everything else is, was, so good. But I do not like that plot development. I honestly think it is bad. Why did they choose not to foreshadow this in literally any way? Why did Miquella attempt to resurrect Godwyn at all in the first place, then? Practice? Was this really what was originally planned? There's no actual evidence to the contrary so you gotta assume it must've been.

man... rhoam's "redemption" in aoc really sucked, huh?

like botw SHOWED us, several times, how much pressure rhoam put on zelda to unlock her powers, despite her telling him, several times, that it wasn't working. he got angry and banned her from doing not only something she saw as useful, but something that she was clearly very interested in and passionate about because she "wasn't dedicating enough time to her prayers." yes, his diary expresses regret for it, but at the end of the day, if zelda saw that it wouldn't mean much to her. the actions rhoam took, and the way zelda grew up under so much pressure that she nearly died as a child in one of the springs (this is in urbosa's diary, iirc) mean so much more than his regrets and his intentions. it took him nearly 10 years to realize that he fucked up, and by that point it was too late. the calamity had returned, and rhoam had lost any chance he had at making things right with zelda.

meanwhile, in aoc, all that's there is some half-hearted scene in the temple of time that's supposed to make everything better? yes, aoc had a very different and arguably better outcome than the calamity that led to botw, but the damage was still done by rhoam. it's still the same hurts and abuse and trauma that he put his daughter through all because of the prophesized calamity.

#legend of zelda #breath of the wild #hyrule warriors age of calamity #sorry i just. i don't know what nintendo meant to do with rhoam #i guess they were trying to make him into a guy who did bad things for a good reason but still #i think the action matters more than the reason because the action is what impacts others the most #when someone is hurting and they lash out what people remember most is them lashing out #that scene in aoc really felt kinda empty and half-hearted (even kohga crying during the scene kinda felt forced)#yeah i guess they were trying to make him into a stern father who we were meant to sympathize with because he didn't want to do #what he had to do. but it kinda... fell flat?#i don't think he was a good king either. he wasn't a tyrant for sure but also what kinda king puts the fate of his entire kingdom #on the back of like 6 people. 4 of whom are considered kids or young adults by their society's standards #(urbosa also mentions this in her diary and she hates that she and daruk are the only seasoned warriors of the champions)#(her diary is full of worldbuilding gems because of her relationship with zelda and its worth a read if you have the DLC)#don't think i forgot about link in all of this either. he was like 12 when he pulled the master sword and he wasn't much older than zelda #if he was older at all. and he was already a knight as a teenager. he was a child soldier who rhoam personally appointed #because he was able to wield the master sword #and maybe revali has a point there. maybe he didn't deserve any of it but not in the way that revali thinks #i don't think that's a writing mistake. revali is a very flawed character and he's young and brash and impulsive. he's very harsh on link #because he thinks he's being overlooked for his skills while link gets all of the pomp for doing the bare minimum #which isn't true but there's also not really anyone proving otherwise to him. link himself doesn't talk a lot #BUT I DIGRESS this post is about rhoam not link and revali #yes i have sat on this for 3 and a half years. what of it #i think rhoam could have had a redemption if he didn't like. deliberately lie to link at the beginning of botw. several times.#like.... these are flawed characters and it would take a LOT for rhoam to shift his world view like that #if he had come to the conclusion he did earlier and listened to zelda maybe things would have been a bit different #but he didn't. he missed his chance to speak with his daughter and tbh the fact that it took him about 10 years to realize this #says a lot about his character i think #post brought to you by the copious amounts of hades i've been playing (zagreus and zelda are an interesting point of comparison in my mind)#(like yeah rhoam and hades are two completely different parents but they both had similar outcomes with their children)

#listen i knowwwwwwww explorers is more popular and its got more fans and itd sell well and itd be good to see it in the spotlight #i agree with all that it makes sense. but i cant help but view it as a bowsers inside story remake scenario #where its just like. kinda pointless bc the original is functionally fine #meanwhile my soul hurts when i think about how gti was kinda screwed over by its development and time #it came out during that time all 3ds games felt really janky to play so it feels awkward #and like. just compare the environments in gti compared to psmd #psmd doessss have more diverse environments to be fair but environments that should feel more grand just feel off in gti #like glacier palace doesnt look AWFUL but it hurts to see it compared to the animated version from the commercials #and like. imagine the glow up if it got the dx treatment. if the environments were all fixed and the job system was updated #and we got a larger starter pool and maybe even a postgame. ik they didnt add much to pmd dx #but that game had a fairly beefy postgame and all that while gti has.... pretty much nothing besides dlc #anyways it wont happen bc gti is the most hated pmd game by a fairly wide margin and itd piss ppl off and itd probably get a bullshit $60 #price tag #but like. i want it. i want it ok. i want to see them fix gti and bring out its full potential. i love its story sm #ik theres the demake but theyre also changing the pokemon choices there (which ik they cant help. repository doesnt have timburr and gurdur #but still) so i kinda wanna wait to see when thats done or its got all the assets

Me, after we slightly make up, he apologizes for how he acted, and he tells everyone the true story of Ogerpon: Phew… I was worried for a second that he was going to turn into an antagonist. At least he’s starting to go back to his old self and even gained some confidence to tell everyone what really happened!! :)

#she talks #she plays #da2 #I wish I'd spoiled myself further so I'd made a rival out of her #she's nice and all very knowledgeable and you can underestimate this 'Daisy' really easily #but damn I can't help but feel like she should've left that portal alone and the last dialogue you have with her in friend or foe sucks #I don't want to tell you it's not your fault or to not think too much about it or that Merathari was a fool #I want to scream in your face that you had it coming even if you thought you were taking conscious/calculated risks #to think that this can lead to the whole massacre of her former clan if you don't take the responsibility #but I was too focused on getting 100% friendship with Fenris to secure the romance lol #he's so harsh to her when we leave sundermount after the keeper's death #he's so harsh in general and I eyeroll every time he shares his views about magic but eh he's hurt and I love him #I considered romancing Merrill but now I'm glad I didn't #also absolutely zero feelings about Anders and Sebastian like noooooone #that's the big difference for me personally between DA2 and DAO like I enjoyed all the companions even if I had favorites but in DA2...#I've made the companions quests because I was curious but there're really some I don't care about #my only regret is not befriending Isabella but I already play a dual weapon rogue so I didn't bring her with me much #I wish I had more friendship with her so she came back with Koslun's book instead of fleeing #also bless the mods that allowed me to give a romanced Zevran the right dialogue and a decent look like they bothered for Alistair #gonna play the dlcs before the very last quest now #I'm ready to be done with this game

Doodledex - #571-A Hisuian Zoroark

With its unkempt, white mane and the horrible malice radiating off of it, it's no surprise that the people of Hisui regarded Hisuian Zoroark as a harbinger of death. I mean, they're not entirely wrong... it's still a Ghost type. (And it's still holding onto the grudges of its deceased ancestors... it could very well live up to that title!)

Speaking of those grudges, Hisuian Zoroark's power has increased to the point where its illusions can now harm both physically and mentally. In fact, the power of its malice is so strong that it frequently harms Zoroark itself... which probably explains those eerie red spots on its body! (Or purple, in the case of the shiny. Does it have purple flesh and/or blood or something?)

so ive learned that the newest taiko game obviously has dlc song packs, but new for this game is a subscription service to access even more songs, which has a partial overlap with the dlc packs

how have we as a society allowed things to get this way

#unhinged fucking garbage #the sub isnt even that expensive but its the principle of it #we cant have rhythm game devs getting into their heads that they can get away with subscription models #irt the overlap: i think if youre gonna do both single purchase and sub then you need to either make all sub songs available for purchase #or else make no overlap so people arent double playing (tho preferably the former)#plus they can and will remove songs from the sub which i get is a licensing thing but then simply dont license songs if you cant #keep them available for as long as the game is expected to sell. skill issue.#last nitpick: the us nintendo eshop warns you of this dlc/sub potential overlap and tells you to check bandais site for a list of sub songs #except this list only exists on their jp site and explicitly says some songs may not be available in other regions so get fucked i guess #tldr we need to start hunting game studio ceos for sport
