Dublin, Ireland August 2024.
Tumblr media
Got the last two seats out of MIA and luckily got two good seats out of CLT to Dublin. Arrived around 04:30 and took a cab to the Marlin Hotel (see above) in South Dublin. Stored our luggage then went walking around town. Hop-On-Hop-Off bus is a no brainer way of getting a feel for the layout of the city while being brain dead after traveling and getting used to a 5 hour time change.
Tumblr media
Most buildings downtown are only 3 or 4 floors. Since I don’t think they have elevators. Some are nicely decorated outside with flowers.
Tumblr media
This was the most unique and older bridge that cross the river Liffey cutting through town. It is the “Ha’penny bridge” built in 1816. The river Liffey more or less cuts the city in half. We stayed in South Dublin where most of the tourist attractions are. Everything is in easy walking distance.
Tumblr media
There is something about SeaHorses locally. Makes a nice lamppost.
Tumblr media
This is the “Portal between Dublin and New York city”. It is supposed to be shutdown in about a week (Sept. 2, 2024).
Tumblr media
Having a pint in a pub called J.Sheehan’s. Early in the afternoon so pretty quiet. We are dead tired.
Tumblr media
note the American flag flying outside an Irish pub. A great invitation for the frequent American tourist to enter. These were common in town. We found out later that where the Americans gather to drink the Gypsies are drawn like moths to a light. Beware the pickpockets!
Tumblr media
This is St. Stephens Green.
Tumblr media
A few swans in the lake at St. Stephen’ s green.
Tumblr media
An interesting ivy covered building across from the green.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The next morning we embarked on the Irish Ferry “Ulysses”, for our trip across the Irish Sea to Holyhead, Anglesey, Wales.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
The trip is about 4 hours. Restaurant, bars, gambling all on board. Calm seas and an easy trip. Neil and Beverley Gadsby pick us up in Holyhead.
Tumblr media
The bus drives in to the car holding area and picks up the pedestrian passengers such as ourselves. Then it takes us from the ferry to the terminal on land for our luggage and stop by immigration.

My big 5-0!
Last week I had my 50h birthday, dear friends! And, since on both my 30th and my 40th birthday I had been in a personal and interpersonal mess before I met my dearest darling husband, I was REALLY going to celebrate this one. And I certainly did! My Mum came over from Greece for the occasion, and we’d already booked a table in a trendy seafood restaurant near Rhosneigr on Anglesey; we’d prepared…

48 Hours in Paris: A Guide to the Best Places to Eat, Sleep, and Explore
For those with 48 hours in the city of light, we have devised the ideal itinerary beyond the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe de la Défense. Within 48 hours, it is possible to conceal the Moulin Rouge, pistachio croissants, and patisseries.
Tumblr media
Day 1
Petit Versailles du Marais
Travel back in time by visiting the historic Parisian boulangerie, patisserie, and tea saloon Diamond State thé (tearoom). Its ceilings are tiled and adorned with enormous chandeliers, and its delectable offerings are apparent. Try the pistachio roll, eclair, or Paris-Brest if you're craving something sweet (choux pastry crammed with candy cream).
National repository of explanation
This resource is in various French structures and institutions. The origin of storehouse contains life-size skeletons, fossils, and natural crystals and gems. The 7,000 animal specimens and interactive computer game display make it a terrific educational experience for young adventurers.
Louvre
The Louvre is a must-see in Paris. It is the most frequented historical art repository in the world. Spend many hours determining if Anglesey is genuine. Lisa observes the Venus Diamond State milo maize as she follows you.
Louvre Carousel
This underground mall's Inverted Pyramid was designed by Ieoh Ming period architect, noted for his fanlight in the architect Code. Fashionistas appreciate Lacoste, Sandro, and Printemps du Louvre.
Tuileries Garden
The UNESCO World Heritage site and Parisian public park Jardin des Tuileries is a 10-minute walk from the Carrousel du Louvre. Ample general seating overlooks the Place Diamond State la Concorde and Arc Diamond State Triomphe, making it an ideal place to rest and take a break from sightseeing. Before visiting the adjacent Musée Diamond State l'Orangerie, picnic on the adjacent grounds. Its impressionist style is breathtaking.
Learning
Tumblr media
The royal restaurant, Lupus erythematosus rig, provides contemporary French cuisine. Relax, take in the historic ambiance, and let the seasoned chefs select the tasting menu dishes.
American government la Hague
The jazz club Caveau American state la Huchette has hosted various blues luminaries. Watch the performance or dance with a partner.
Day 2
Nemours
Tumblr media
Parisians appreciate Le Nemours' Croque monsieurs. At the bar or terrace, order saucisson or rillettes and a glass of fine French wine.
Parisian boats Resturent
This river trip from the Eiffel Tower informs you about the history of Paris. Cruise by Notre Dame and the Louvre while taking in expansive views of the cityscape from the outside deck.
Tumblr media
Sonores
Balades Sonores is an explosion of French pop and rock albums, CDs, and cassettes in the manner of vinyl. It overflows into an adjacent store selling jazz, global music, and soundtracks. Hold out for an in-store acoustic concert.
Willi's Bar
The French wines and reinterpreted classics will wow. The orders of your server are always correct. On your walk into the pub, visit the hundreds of bottle art posters on the property behind the venue.
Virage Lepic
This little restaurant is entirely French. Imagine pictures of light, red-and-white striped tablecloths and a buffet of European classics. Enjoy the tartare or sliced salmon, followed by the pecan nut mousse.
Madame Rouge
Tumblr media
Au Virage Lepic is 10 minutes from Moulin Rouge. Since 1889, this Parisian cabaret has captivated audiences with extravagantly attired entertainers and a breathtaking recreation area. Check the menu and reserve a table for the most accessible read before the event.
Paris is connected via the Charles General Charles de Gaulle, Orly, and Beauvais airports and European trains. Taxis, buses, and trains may transport you from the airport to the city.

Strike-Walk #1
Simpson's-in-the-Strand to Denmark Street
The Silkworm, chapter 37
Strike set out for his office beneath a sky of dirty silver, his feet moving with difficulty through the rapidly accumulating snow.
This walk, which "would take a fit and unimpaired adult perhaps a quarter of an hour" occurs after Strike's lunch with Jerry Waldegrave. Strike walks from their lunch venue - Simpson's-in-the-Strand to his Denmark Street office, and is pursued by Pippa Midgley.
Simpson's-in-the-Strand still exists, but its doors are sadly chained shut. Twitter suggests that the restaurant closed due to COVID in March 2020, and there are suggestions elsewhere online that it will be reopened, date yet to be confirmed. [1]
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After spending "his entire week's food budget on a single meal" Strike lights a cigarette and walks eastwards down the Strand, turning north (left) into Wellington Street and passing "the fluted columns of The Lyceum Theatre" (which is currently showing The Lion King. [2])
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
He thinks about the Quine murder case, and by the time the "scarlet facade of the Coach and Horses" comes into view, he's thirsty (really, mate? it's been like, two minutes since lunch). He makes himself resist going in, but of course I didn't, and can confirm it has gleaming brass beer pumps and convivial clientele.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It is when he glances longingly towards the Coach and Horses that he sees Pippa Midgley for the first time, "scurrying along the ... pavements behind him". It sounds as if they are on the same side of the road at this point, and this would be consistent with them both being on the east side of Wellington Street, the same side as the pub, walking north.
He keeps tabs on Pippa by looking at her reflection in windows and brass door plates, and there's no shortage of door plates that side of the street. So far so good.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We soon reach the junction with Russell Street where things get a bit more difficult. According to the book, as Strike crosses Russell Street, Pippa ducks into the Marquis of Anglesey.
The problem is, if you stand on the south side of Russell Street, looking north, the pub is in front of you on the other side of the road. But Pippa is supposed to be behind him, so either she has overtaken him at some stage, or he is on the west side of Wellington Street and she is on the east, in which case she might have drawn level with him as he waited to cross the road, (hence the need to dart into the pub so as to allow him to draw ahead again).
Tumblr media
Unfortunately, on the west side of Wellington Street, between the Coach and Horses and the Marquis of Anglesey, there's not a single brass plate to be reflected in (although there are some windows) and it seems unlikely he would be able to use reflections from brass plates on the other side of the road. Perhaps Strike crosses Russell Street diagonally, both E to W and S to N, and she catches up with him that way, while allowing him to use all the brass door furniture up to that point.

Holyhead Mountain, Anglesey, Wales
I took the train up from south Wales to Anglesey and enjoyed a three-course meal en route in the restaurant car. I woke up early in my bed and breakfast and headed out of Holyhead along the coast path and up onto the heather-covered cliffs and over the rocky granite of Holyhead Mountain. You could watch the ferries heading in from Ireland from the peak.

I was greeted by the Mayor of Holyhead once, many years ago. She said “Welcome to Holyhead, where pebbledash comes to die” with a broad smile on her face. This image has many visual metaphors, but I’ll stay with the quote for the moment. (Originally attributed to restaurant critic, AA Gill, who had been less than kind about Wales and the Welsh on more than one occasion). . I was tagged by @bailandonorris, thanks!
1. what is the colour of your hair brush?
I have a silver paddle brush which I don’t use very often, a transparent and purple swirly coloured (honestly don’t know how else to describe) afro comb, and a regular black comb.
2. name of a food you never eat?
Tuna, can’t stand it. To be honest, I eat most things if they’re warm, but VERY fussy when it comes to cold food
3. are you typically too warm or too cold?
Definitely too hot! I still have a fan on in the winter at night time
4. what were you doing 45 minutes ago?
Playing Animal Crossing, tried to catch some tarantulas because Flick is on my island but the dodos don’t seem to want to send me to any decent islands so my mission was unsuccessful
5. what’s your favourite candy bar?
That’s a hard one... probably either Cadbury’s marvelous creations with the jelly beans and popping candy, darkmilk, or the one with oreos. Snickers are pretty great too, also Kinder Bueno and just Kinder chocolate in general. Basically, what I’m saying is I love chocolate
6. have you ever been to a professional sports event?
Yes, I went to the London 2012 Olympics to watch show jumping, football and basketball! Have probably been to others? Really want to go to Wimbledon at some point but not sure when I’ll be able to do that. Does dog agility count as sport? Seen it at Crufts multiple times
7. what is the last thing you said out loud?
‘Night night curly shoes’ - a goodnight wish for my sweet doggo Ivy
8. what is your favourite ice cream?
I’m a fan of coconut ice cream it has to be said, also honeycomb, and your standard Ben and Jerry’s cookie dough is high up there. Really specifically, the vanilla ice cream from the waffle shop in Cirencester. To be honest, don’t eat much ice cream, not my go-to food choice because I’m lactose intolerant and a lot of it makes me feel sick just thinking about it. Has to be good!
9. what is the last thing you had to drink?
Some water, absolute health right here (she says drinking her first glass of water all day after about 4 cans of Pepsi Max whoops)
10. do you like your wallet?
I guess so, yes. Could probably do with a slightly more efficient one but it’s decent
11. what was the last thing you ate?
A jazz apple from the fridge. We have no pink ladies which are the favourites but jazz are pretty tasty too
12. did you buy any new clothes last week?
No, only virtual ones in Animal Crossing. I haven’t been clothes shopping in so long and doesn’t look like that will change anytime soon
13. last sporting event you watched?
Honestly no idea, since all the sport has been cancelled for a while I can’t think what the last thing would have been. Probably Cheltenham races on the telly back in February or March or whenever it was?
14. what’s your favourite flavour of popcorn?
The classic, salty cinema popcorn. Honestly the best
15. who was the last person you sent a message to?
Strangely, someone from my secondary school who I haven’t ever spoken to over message before. She posted our leavers video on her Instagram and thought I’d message since I’d been looking for that video for  y e a r s  and sparked a conversation! She never liked me much back in school I don’t think, she was popular and I really wasn’t so I never properly spoke to her. One of my friends had a bit of drama with her, absolutely hated her, but they eventually became best pals. Also her best pal during most of school really didn’t like me for some reason... anyway, had a nice chat, strange how friendly she seems these days
16. ever go camping?
Uhh well... I’ve been 4 times, 2 of which were for D of E and I can safely say I’ve never had a good experience. First time, the people in the tent next to us got arrested at 3AM for drugs or something, second time was my dad’s 40th birthday and my brother didn’t know he was allergic to nuts so eating a cake with mixed nuts on the top didn’t go down well for him... also went to a restaurant on the way there with my granny and got a caterpillar in my salad. Third and fourth times, let’s just say D of E was one of the worst experiences of my life, I’ll leave it at that... would really like to go camping again though to have a good experience, maybe change my mind on it? I don’t know, willing to give it a try
17. do you take vitamins?
I go through phases, sometimes I take them every day, other times I don’t take them for like 3 months
18. do you go to church every sunday?
I used to, but as I got older I slowly went less and less until I didn’t go at all. I lost faith I guess? Kind of didn’t feel I belonged there or believed anymore. I loved singing the hymns and our vicar was an absolute lad, we also got biscuits at the end of each service, but over time I decided it wasn’t right for me to keep going. Pretty much all the people that go to ours are your typical white, posh, probably homophobic and hate children type so that put me off. Also after everything that’s happened in mine and other’s lives, I slowly lost the belief in God. If all of it was true, why would these things happen? I guess also my scientific mind was constantly telling me there’s no proof. I think the only reason I went to begin with was because it was a family thing and as a child I believed pretty much everything that was said
19. do you have a tan?
No, certainly not... used to when I lived in the Caribbean but now I’m pretty much white as a sheet
20. do you prefer chinese food or pizza?
A very difficult one... probably chinese? As much as I love pizza, it’s the same issue as the ice cream
21. do you drink soda with a straw?
Nah not a fan of straws, they taste weird
22. what colour socks do you wear?
ALL THE COLOURS! I own a pair of socks for every outfit to colour co-ordinate, my sock draw is overflowing
23. do you ever drive above the speed limit?
Strangely, I drive under by quite a bit when no one else is around. It’s the other cars that stress me out and make me go too fast. Also I have a black box so not allowed
24. what terrifies you?
Good question, lots of things... the sea, pools, tbh water in general, heights, rejection, the current impending doom, large open spaces with no walls I can be against, losing everyone I love, the fact that anyone might be secretly talking about me behind my back because they actually hate me, the list goes on but I won’t continue it
25. look to your left what do you see?
An empty Pepsi Max can, a glass of water, some crocodile scissors, my Switch, a cranberry scented candle, and some tiny balls of wool
26. what chore do you hate?
Got to be changing my bed, or washing up when the things have got cold food left on them
27. what do you think of when you hear an australian accent?
A throwback to year 8
28. what’s your favourite soda?
Pepsi Max
29. do you go into fast food places or drive thru?
It depends who I’m with
30. who was the last person you talked to?
My mum about a meteor shower and satellites
31. favourite cut of beef?
A random question... I do like a good rump steak
32. last song you listened to?
You Make My Dreams by Hall and Oates because I’m using it in my animation project
33. last book you read?
I’m like part way through Good Omens and have been for quite some time... I have learning difficulties and find reading a lot of effort so don’t read very often
34. can you say the alphabet backwards?
No, it’s the kind of thing I’d have expected myself to learn at some point but never did
35. how do you like your coffee?
I don’t like coffee so in the bin
36. favourite pair of shoes?
My multicoloured Vans, got them in the second week of uni and I’ve loved them ever since
37. the time you normally go to bed?
Well, currently it’s around 1AM to go to bed, 3AM to sleep. Used to be around 12/1AM sleep but the lockdown has ruined that
38. the time you normally wake up?
Again, currently it’s around 11:30AM to wake up then 12PM to do things but used to be around 9:30/10AM. To be honest I still sometimes wake up then but I go back to sleep again because I have no reason to exist more than I need
39. what do you prefer sunrise or sunsets?
Sunrise is always nice to watch, but I don’t like getting up early so definitely sunset, especially when you’re at a restaurant or sitting outside somewhere in the countryside
40. how many blankets are on your bed?
Just the one duvet, but I have a soft fish patterned blanket for when I want something to cuddle with
41. describe your kitchen plates?
We have some plain white ones and some that are white with leaves around the edges. The edges have a ridged pattern and the rims are gold
42. do you have a favourite alcoholic beverage?
I don’t drink so no
43. do you play cards?
Yes, love a good card game!
44. what colour is your car?
It’s very nice Caribbean sea blue. Used to be my mum’s car, it’s her favourite colour
45. can you change a tire?
I probably could if I had to but can’t say I’ve done it before
46. your favourite province?
I guess that’s counties? Hometown of Gloucestershire is up there, also a fan of Devon. My favourites may have to be Caenarfonshire and Anglesey though after the road trip last year
47. favourite job you’ve had?
Not sure really, I guess it would have to be doing my art commissions
48. how did you get your biggest scar?
The biggest scar I have these days is on my right knuckle between my index and middle finger, it’s very small. I got it from when I was holding a horse still before untacking and he decided that hay was more exciting, caught my hand on a splintered wooden fence and that was that
49. what did you do today that made someone happy?
Nothing, I’ve only seen my family and even then it was for a short time. Don’t think I make anyone happy these days ahah
It’s now 3:22AM, that took longer than I expected. ‘I’ll go to sleep early today’ I said but I say that every day. Don’t know why I keep lying to myself.
Anyway, I guess I have to tag someone now, so I tag @duckingpunches !

Things to do on Anglesey
Things to do on Anglesey...looking for pocket friendly ideas for the family on your stay here?. Look no further. I've listed ten things you can do on Anglesey, pretty much for free..
Anglesey is the jewel in the Welsh crown when it comes to beauty and natural landscape. Anglesey or Ynys Mon in Welsh, is a island just off the coast of north Wales. It sits proudly off the north western coast of the UK, with the mainland Wales to it’s east and Holy Island to its west. It has a spectacular coastline that surrounds its 138 mile circumference. Home to the mythical druids and…

🌍 The most charming seaside holiday destinations in the #UK 🇬🇧 and #Ireland 🇮🇪 🌍
🌟 Prices from £50pp* for 2-3 Nights
👉 1. Introduction:
There’s nothing quite like a hit of fresh sea air. At any location in the UK 🇬🇧, we’re lucky to be no further than 70 miles from the sea. An estimated 3 million people live by the coast, so for the rest of us, there are seaside holidays.
In the summer, the coastal atmosphere is electric, with endless days to splash about or soak up the sun with a gripping book. In winter, you can rug up on a chilly morning to catch the sun rising over the bay, or head to the local for a satisfying serve of fish and chips.
While Brits have long been lured by the sun-drenched days of the Canaries, the past year has reinvigorated our appreciation for our vast and varied coastline. According to a recent UK Staycation Index, 62% of Brits will spend their 2021 summer holiday in the UK. Moreover, half of the most sought after locations are by the seaside. The great British seaside holiday has made its triumphant return, and here’s where you need to go…
👉 2. #Beaumaris, #Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿:
According to the UK Staycation Index, North Wales topped the list for the most popular UK holiday destinations, beating out long-time favourites Cornwall and Devon. If you’re yet to experience the striking scenery of this part of the world, we’d recommend basing yourself in Beaumaris. This charming seaside destination on the Isle of Anglesey will tick many of your holiday boxes, offering history, scenery, cuisine, and swimming opportunities.
Initially a Viking settlement, Beaumaris became part of a series of fortifications when Edward I ordered the construction of Beaumaris Castle in 1295. This incredible, symmetrical structure is a UNESCO World Heritage site and is just waiting for you to visit. Outside of the castle lies the town, with its fascinating combination of Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian architecture.
Wind your way through the modern cafes and pubs and head for the glittering seafront. On the way, enjoy a delicious local treat at Red Boat Ice Cream Parlour or venture out to the pier, where boats depart for the seabird sanctuary of Puffin Island, where you can spot puffin, guillemots, razorbills, and kittiwakes.
👉 3. #Swanage, #England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿:
If your idea of a holiday is one based around food, then you can’t go past Swanage. The town market takes place every Friday and you can pick up some fresh delights at the Purbeck Produce Market on every second Saturday of the month.
Swanage is home to all the classic charms of a seaside town, including a quaint harbour, bays for swimming, amusement arcades, and local fish and chips shops. You can relax on the Victorian pier, or take things up a notch with some water sport activities including sailing, canoeing, and pedalo.
To dive deeper into the area, take a break from the sun with a stroll through the Swanage Museum and Heritage Centre, where you can gain a insight into the local history. History buffs might like to ride the historic Swanage Railway to visit the nearby Corfe Castle – it’s the ideal day out.
Beyond the delights of the town, what makes Swanage a dream holiday destination is its proximity to some of the Jurassic Coast’s most stunning locations.
👉 4. #Portree, #Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿:
While Portree is considered to be the capital of Scotland‘s Isle of Skye, it lacks the hustle and bustle of a big town. And that’s why we love it. Sure, it’s home to plenty of amenities including cafes, restaurants, supermarkets, bookstores, a cinema, but ultimately it’s a quiet base to explore the isle.
The town is known for its colourful and picturesque harbour, with pink townhouses and old fishing vessels bobbing by the footpath. Better yet, the peaks of Ben Tianavaig, Suidh Fhinn and Ben Chrachaig are visible from the town, adding to the natural tranquillity. If you’re looking to explore the surrounding areas by sea, boat cruises regularly operate from Portree.
👉 5. #StHelier. #Jersey:
Feel like you’ve seen enough of the UK? Then venture a little further to the Channel Islands. St. Helier is Jersey’s largest settlement and only town. Foodies will be drawn to the town centre, where there’s the Michelin-starred Bohemia, a luxurious, art-deco space with high-quality dining, and Street Food Thursdays, a collection of delicious, local street food traders.
Aqua lovers will find paradise at Havre des Pas, a sandy beach on the fringes of St. Helier. The bathing pool is filled by the tide each day, giving swimmers a safe area to take a refreshing dip. Beautiful period buildings dot the seaside promenade at this spot, adding a nostalgic tinge to your beach trip.
If you’re feeling adventurous, board the castle ferry or stroll across at low tide to Elizabeth Castle. The fortification, based on a tidal island, has defended Jersey for more than four centuries. The castle offers secret rooms, hidden passageways and bunkers to explore, as well as sweeping views of the gorgeous bay and Jersey’s south coast. For more thrills, take to the breakwater and wander until you reach the stony, single-room chapel that is St. Helier Hermitage.
👉 6. #Dingle. #Ireland 🇮🇪:
If you’ve always dreamed of exploring an archetypal Irish seaside town, get yourself to Dingle. The town is on the edge of the Dingle Peninsula, located on the southwest coast of Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way. From the town, you can explore the Slea Head Scenic Drive, a 30-mile route of coastal views, verdant hills, and dramatic peaks. A short drive from Dingle is Inch Beach, a stretch of soft sand where you can spot birds, stroll along the dunes, or even head out for a surf.
Like many coastal towns, there’s a famous local spot for ice cream. If you’re looking for a sweet treat, sample the handmade goodness of Murphy’s Ice Cream on the colourful Strand Street.

North Wales!
For our family holiday this year we went to North Wales, this included some castle trips, seaside adventures and lots of dog walking.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
At Caernarfon Castle they had an interesting way of telling the kings story, they had multiple segments of the king’s head with information panels on the back so that you were inside the king’s head when reading the story. Much more interesting than just a few pieces of information on a wall.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The castle itself was beautiful as well as the views from the turrets which had many many stairs....so many.
Tumblr media
My sister and the dog being aesthetic on the sea wall.
Tumblr media
The view of Llandudno pier from the cable cart, a very beautiful town with a chippie that has vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options!
Tumblr media
I always see these ‘rolled ice-cream’ videos on instagram so when I saw a store doing them on the pier I had to have one! It was Nutella and banana flavour and absolutely delicious.
Tumblr media
I saw this restaurant branding in Llandudno that I was a fan of. It looked a lot more exciting and professional than the others around it. I like the use of neautral colours and the ingredient illustrations to represent the home cooking and local produce. The restaurant also used the logo but on a large scale as a subtle background on other branding which I liked a lot.
Tumblr media
The view from a bridge near Snowdon. After seeing snowdon I made the intelligent decision not to climb it so we just went to the attractions near by. I couldn't resist taking this photo as living in Nottingham it’s so rare to see something so natural and untouched by humans.
Tumblr media
We also visited the Anglesey Sea Zoo which I was a huge fan of being that I love sea life. It was different to most aquariums as it is all sea life that is local to Britain. We stayed for the shark feeding demonstration which was really informative and interesting.

I love these cute greeting cars in the gift shop, the illustrations are so simple but also super adorable!

At the sea zoo I saw a Cuttlefish for the first time and fell in love with the little guy. I didn’t take any pictures unfortunately but decided to test my new Faber Castell watercolour pencils to do this little illustration of a cuttle fish after my visit. Normally realistic illustrations aren’t really my forte so I really enjoyed exploring it more and am very happy with the result!

But what about pap pics of kate shopping though? & You say it depends on what/how much the person put out on social media or whatever & we know meghan puts her whole life on social media soooo.....her ISPO complaints arent valid imho plus she hired paps too
You’re going to hate me for saying this, but the pics of her shopping at Anglesey were all authorized, as was the one of them walking down the beach and a bunch playing with Lupo. I think there was one grainy shot at Zara or something that wasn’t authorized and maybe one at a kid’s clothing store. I also think they went out for dinner at Anglesey once and pics got out (am I right about that, or was it just the story?).
If the celeb/public figure is in a public place doing a non-intimate activity with no expectation of privacy and it’s a random shot where they weren’t being followed, it can be published. That’s why Felipe and Letitia (Spain is also subject to the EU law) do movie pics and dinner pics. Traveling on a plane or train isn’t protected so we have some pics of Kate doing that. Going to restaurants and movie theaters isn’t “intimate” and isn’t protected. Leaving or arriving at your home is intimate and protected. Walking the dog or grocery shopping is getting closer to the protection zone. Entering or leaving a doctor’s office or a similar heath establishment is definitely protected.
I don’t mean to minimize the way the paps persecuted Kate. Her live was hell before that law was changed, and a lot of the impetus for the legal change was William wanting to protect her. However, things got a lot better for her after the law changed.
Meghan’s IPSO hypocrisies are one of the things that gets me the most riled up. She’s been playing with the rules since day 1. Her worst offenses were (i) the Jamaica wedding where they called paps to a private  function and sued over Harry’s beach trunk pics, but left the reception pics alone, (ii) the video of Jess’ daughter that they sold, which was taken through a window and was a clear IPSO violation, and (iii) the “thief in the night” pic of Harry entering her Toronto townhouse which were another clear IPSO violation.
She enforces the IPSO rules on the UK tabs selectively, and if she wants a pic out that is such an extreme violation of the rules that the UK tabs won’t touch it, then she just plants it in a US mag. It’s pure hypocrisy.

A family of 11 from Manchester travelled 120 miles to visit a North Wales beauty spot.
The group drove in three different cars to spend the day at South Stack on Anglesey.
Police have described their actions as "unbelievable".
Chief Officer for the North Wales Police Special Constabulary Mark Owen tweeted: " Unbelievable.... 11 people from Manchester travelling in three different cars thought it would be a good idea to have a day trip to South Stack.
"One family but from different households. Each person prosecuted under Covid legislation @NWPSpecials #StayHomeSaveLives"
It comes after police also stopped around 26 people in the Barmouth area on Saturday who were breaking lockdown regulations - including English day-trippers visiting the beach.
Police are controlling to patrol across the region and have pledged to send anyone travelling into Wales home.
North Wales Police issued a warning ahead of the weekend that travel restrictions lifted in England, do not apply in Wales.
Under current Welsh Government regulations, motorists must only travel if their journey is essential.
Residents outside of Wales are being reminded that the travel restrictions lifted in England do not apply here – and anyone travelling into Wales will be subject to Welsh legislation.
Temporary Assistant Chief Constable Nigel Harrison said: “Our tourist attractions, parts of the national park, pubs, restaurants, cafes, caravan, holiday parks and campsites all remain closed.
“Travelling into Wales for exercise or without a reasonable excuse is not permitted, and the sooner we can slow the spread of the virus the sooner we can welcome people back here.

“Increasing the population of our area will place an unreasonable burden on our NHS and other key workers who are working hard to ensure the safety of everyone.
"Those visiting the mountains of Snowdonia or our coastal areas also need to realise that they could potentially be risking the lives of our mountain rescue and RNLI volunteers should they get into difficulties."
He also urged holiday home owners not to travel to their properties.

I’m sure you’ll agree, dear friends, that I’m usually anything but a moaning Minnie; I’m an eternal optimist, I always try to look on the bright side, I’ve been trying to cheer you and myself up during this Coronavirus lockdown… But there are times when even the most cheerful of us start getting depressed; and yesterday’s news finally did that for me.
Our know-all Prime Minister, who nearly croaked from the virus himself not too long ago, has declared that the economy has to get going again now no matter what, so millions of people in the big cities of the UK will be forced to enter crowded buses and tube trains again every morning to get to work – honestly, dear friends, I can see a catastrophe coming.
Tumblr media
The biggest and most crowded city here in the UK is, of course, London; and my darling husband and me have the ill luck to be trapped in it. Well, there was a time when I first came here when I was fascinated by this city – all the sights and the museums and the shops! But there comes a time when you feel you’ve seen just about everything, and then it starts getting a bit overwhelming and hostile and even threatening, and especially in the conditions we are in right now.
We haven’t been ‘to town’ at all for months, of course, because as freelancers we’re lucky enough to be able to work from home; we’ve been ‘hiding’ here in Tottenham, our own little part of London – with the pubs, the shopping centres and of course the football stadium closed; Tottenham has turned REALLY depressing…
Now I’ll tell you a secret, dear friends: shortly before this whole pandemic started, our new landlord here had threatened us with a rent raise by the end of the year to £1,000 (!!!) for our little one-bedroom flat – which would have eaten up almost our entire humble income as indexers. So, we decided we were going to move to Wales; but that’s been put on hold, of course… We’ll be sitting here staring out of the window all summer while there’ll be a new surge in Coronavirus cases and deaths thanks to our government, and we’ll neither be able to travel to Greece and see my parents and daughter (whom I last saw in January), nor of course move out of here…
Anyway – we can at least dream… I’ve told you about Wales, dear friends, when my darling Ian and me went there on our first trip together two years ago; actually, you can sum it up in one word: Paradise! Green fields, golden beaches, blue sea, dramatic cliffs, little flowers everywhere… Who wouldn’t gladly swap the grey asphalt jungle for that?
We stayed on Anglesey then, right out in the Irish Sea, and that’s also where we were going to look for a flat. Our hotel in Benllech was one of the cosiest I’d ever seen, and it had a pub restaurant where we had Guinness and cider and whisky and the most delicious lamb pie – we were just SO happy there!
We’d go down to the beach which was quite empty already in late summer, and we’d sit down in the beer garden; perfect peace and harmony, without the neverending sirens, honking, blaring car radios and rows in the street that you get in the big city…
Honestly, I never thought I’d be longing so much for the countryside one day; I grew up in a medium-sized town with a population of about 60,000, and I always wanted to go somewhere bigger – and so I did, first to Munich, then to Athens and then to London. And now, all I want is to live the rest of my life in a quiet little town in the countryside… This beautiful song by the Wolfe Tones says it all – it’s from Ireland, of course, but then Wales is so very similar to Ireland in so many ways…
youtube
Those beautiful, peaceful green fields where the famous Welsh sheep graze, those little villages with their tea shops and the friendly, welcoming people…
My darling Ian knows Wales very well, of course, his mother was Welsh, and he grew up in Chester right on the Welsh border; he’s been studying Welsh history, culture and mythology all his life. In the meantime, as a foreigner, I’ve been trying to get acclimatised as well: I’ve been learning Welsh on Duolingo, and I can proudly say I’ve already got to the future tenses and the conditional by now! So, when all this is over, I hope we’ll be able to pack our things and move – and hear the famous slogan:
Croeso I Gymru – Welcome to Wales!
Tumblr media
Dreaming of Wales… I’m sure you’ll agree, dear friends, that I’m usually anything but a moaning Minnie; I’m an eternal optimist, I always try to look on the bright side, I’ve been trying to cheer you and myself up during this Coronavirus lockdown… But there are times when even the most cheerful of us start getting depressed; and yesterday’s news finally did that for me.
