Aromid and Arohaze are pretty close in meaning, but aren't exact synonyms

Aromid - Someone who is strictly aromantic, but not strictly asexual, while still being on the asexual spectrum.

Alternatively, someone who is strictly aromantic, but not strictly asexual or allosexual. Arohaze/Aromush: a label for an aro person who’s other orientation(s) are in between or both allo and ace/void.

Hello, I just discovered this blog, and I was wondering if I could get some advice?

So I've identified as aroace for a while, but I'm thinking about ID'ing as alloaro (specifically as an aro lesbian) for a few reasons.

 

Even though I'm asexual (18F), me being a lesbian and aromantic has played a much more apparent role in my life than being ace. If I were to get into a committed relationship, my aromanticism would play a much bigger role than me being ace. 

 

And for a sex-indifferent ace, I do find myself relating a bit more to alloaros. I'm not opposed to my relationships having a sexual/sensual component. Not to the point where I'd comfortable getting into one-night stands, but either a queerplatonic relationship or an alterous relationship with a sensual/sexual component would be ideal.

Living together with a girl as close (genuine) friends, who I'm emotionally and platonically drawn to, whom I may or may not make out with lol. But no romo, please.

So in short-- TL:DR; even though I'm ace, I relate more strongly to the alloaro community, and I was wondering if I could identify as such.

It's not really my place to say how you should and shouldn't identify. I'm going to do my best to give you some advice, but please remember that's all it is – advice. Not a judge's decision on your sexuality.

I'm not completely sure about identifying as aroallo when you're ace (assuming you don't mean acespec but rather only asexual), but participating in the community and considering yourself part of that is something I can understand (personally, I differentiate between identifying with a label and being part of a community; I consider myself a lesbian but rarely interact with lesbian communities, for instance). To give a less identity-specific example, you don't need to be a computer programmer yourself to hang out with computer programmers and discuss computer programming. Will they understand nuances and terms better than you? That's very likely to happen! But it's not like you're putting anyone in danger by being around those who are also into computer programming.

Getting back to identity, perhaps labels such as aromush (an aro who is in-between ace and allo) and non-sam aro (an aro who doesn't label their sexual attraction or lack thereof) may help you? There's sadly not a lot out there about these two labels, but perhaps you may be able to find something that fits you. And of course, there is always the slight chance you're incorrectly identifying as ace and just don't realize it, but misidentifying is a possibility with all labels (so this isn't meant to be me throwing shade at you for questioning or anything).
