// 004 — Profile: Fractured Wholeness

This is the part I never knew how to write. A face in fragments. A body with two ears but only half the signal. INFJ. Male. Neurodivergent (possibly). Strong but sensitive. Wired to listen with my eyes and decode from distortion.

“I was born deaf. We think.”

That ambiguity has followed me ever since. Official diagnoses came late. What I had already learned—through instinct, frustration, and mimicry—came first.

Later (very much later) I found out I had Auditory Processing Disorder. It wasn’t about not hearing—it was about not deciphering. Sound arrived. Meaning didn’t always follow.

This series of pages is part reflection, part reconstruction. Photos assembled like memory. A mouth here. An ear there. The parts I use to listen—visually, instinctively, emotionally.

INFJ. A contradiction. Alone in crowds. Loud in solitude.

Drawn to the symbolic. To roots and wings. To old scars and whispered intentions.

Welcome to the auditory processing lottery!!

You either:

A) Hear all the sounds of what they’re saying but not the actual words and just accept your fate

B) Guess what they’re saying and hope you get it right

C) Ask them to repeat themselves multiple times throughout the conversation and hope they don’t get annoyed

D) Hear a completely different sound entirely such as a dog barking two streets away

Extremely offended by a strangers behavior tonight which I think is absolutely rude. I was hiding behind DJs booth while he ran karaoke and quietly reading on my phone. A young woman was signing up for a song and apparently asked DJ about me and was warned I'm not social. She insisted on shouting out my name and asking why I'm so quiet. It's difficult for me to process what people are saying when there's a lot of background noise so I'm sure she said more. I just said it's the way I am and went back to reading. Just a hint for you social do-gooders, busy bodies and extroverts. Calling out an introvert is RUDE! If someone is off by themselves, busy reading or doing something else, and in no way showing any interest in socializing, LEAVE THEM ALONE! Now if someone is lingering by a group by all means offer to include them. But otherwise it's really freaking rude to pester a stranger you don't even know just because you assume they need help coming out of their shell.
