Trigun Manga Reaction
Here we go! Chapter 8 Volume... Huh?
Tumblr media
Voulme 2? I thought this is still Volume 1. Am I tripping?
Anyway! Just a moment of appreciation for this parody page of he cover.
Tumblr media
This while thing is so "busy" yet it still make sense. There's so many elements layering on top of each other. It should be a confusing mess. However, I can still easily pick out the four components that tells a story.
Component 1: Vash as a happy salary man being served a drink by a geisha (judging from the hairstyle and accessory) with shadowed eyes on the opposite end of the page.
Component 2: BDN at the dead center. The text makes it a bit difficult to confirm if he has a top knot, but he definitely is rocking a traditional Japanese look. He looks menacingly at Vash as he drinks.
Component 3: Meryl and Milly running in a hurry but for two clearly different purposes. Meryl looks like a traditional restaurant staff frantically trying to serve a lot of guests. Meanwhile, Milly doesn't look she's working anywhere near the food service industry with her get up and the tool that she has on hand.
Component 4: The Bad Lads drinking in celebration while an ambulance seems to be sounding its sirens as it parked near them.
Look. I may seem to be too obsessed with this gag page but it's crazy how its a fucking busy mess that still works at telling a cohesive story!
With just this two page drawing, I can infer easily that someone is in danger and may need to be hospitalized - so the ambulance was called and asked to stand by. Milly is probably the heroine about to save the day with the overworked yet eager to help Meryl. The party the Bad Lads are having is a big distraction at a possible murder attempt starring Vash as the victim, the geisha as the accomplice, and BDN as the mastermind.
I'M SORRY BUT HOW THE FUCK?!!!
And don't get me started on the scaling of each figure and the silhouettes. Just... I'll just repeat, Nightow is amazing for how pretty AND technical his drawing is. It's so clean. Wow...
Sorry for getting derailed. So, back to the chapter.
Tumblr media
Ok. I lied. Let me just appreciate Winter Mery and Milly here. I love them so much and they so fucking cute here with their dynamic pose... solid silhouette... Clean fucking lines... Sorry... Give me a minute!!!
Sigh~
Tumblr media
Interesting. So, '98 rearranged the sequence of events here. This happened a bit later... which I think is better. It adds more impact on Vash's duel against BDN.
Tumblr media
These guys are no stormtrooper shooters. They having really good aim!
Tumblr media
They didn't hit Vash. Okay. Maybe the tails of his coat now have fresh bullet holes, but aside from that, Vash is fairly intact. The Bad Lads have great accuracy.
Tumblr media
This is an intriguing way of drawing a spinning gun. It's simple but effective in visually communicating that that is what BDN is doing. A good choice. Thinking about it... If three twirling guns in a blur of circles were drawn, it would be too distracting and BDN will be overwhelmed in the panel.
Tumblr media
Cool foreshortening. Incredible detail on the filigree. And a bonus Goofy Face Vash!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So so fucking glad '98 was faithful to the manga with these scenes. Meryl and Milly were such badasses here.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Huh... Well that's a huge difference. There's not much:
GASP! It'S VaSH tHe STampeDE!
vASh ThE StAMpEdE?!
VASH THE STAMPEDE!!!
It can get a bit much... sometimes in '98. So, this is refreshing.
Tumblr media
WHAT...
WHAT THE FLYING FUCK?!!!
So, those lines by Miss Purple Avenger from the filler episode were originally from BRILLIANT DYNAMITES NEON?!
I-
Tumblr media
Oooohhh.... Pretty art... Wait no... I can't distracted. I'm mad!
Tumblr media
I'M VERY VERY MAD!!!
OML! This is much more intense! IT ADDS SO MUCH WEIGHT TO THE DUEL!
Tumblr media
Oh my goodness... This nuance... WHY WAS THIS CHANGED?!
Not to say that Miss Purple Avenger and the episode featuring her was bad. It was actually great! Her version of July was nightmare inducing... and her confrontation with Vash was truly tragic too but.... Uhm...uh... AAHHHH!!!! I CAN'T CHOOSE! THEY'RE BOTH GOOD!
Tumblr media
Oh... break my heart into fucking pieces will you huh?!
LOOK AT THESE! Manga Vash getting cheered on by the people! People were supporting him! He is being treated nicely as he deserved.
Even in '98! It was not as overt at this page. However, that scene of the captain from the beginning of this chapter replaced these panels instead and is just as effective. '98 Vash has people believing the good in him.
TRISTAMP VASH WAS ROBBED!!! HE NEVER HAD THESE!!! That poor precious boy! The few precious people who supports him only showed up near the end... and... and...
Now getting even more upset again with the Jeonora Episodes in Tristamp!
It's so not fair!
Tumblr media
Oooh. A cinematic page!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
HOLY SHIT!!! THESE PAGES ARE AMAZING!
I can't believe this. This fight is better in the manga!
I am not dissing Studio Madhouse for what they've done tho. The '98 Duel was epic too! They did great! But all these crazy angles and perspectives in the manga just elevate the overall awesomeness of the gunfight. It's just more immersive.
Tbf to the '98 anime, this is a nightmare to animate faithfully. With the technology and techniques at the time, this would be so difficult to pull off beautifully - going topsy turvy in one smooth motion for two characters at the same time in a fight scene with a complicated moving background? Yeah... The animation staff would go insane. It's totally understandable that they simplified this duel into extreme close ups and strong facial + gun drawings instead.
I hope Studio Orange re-hashes this fight in some way tho... or does the Episode 1 duel count?
Tumblr media
Sigh... With the my discovery that Miss Purple Avenger's lines were actually BDN's, and that the outrage towards Vash for not remembering anything about July belongs to the Bad Lads', these words have become so much more meaningful.
It's also now more effective at convincing me that Brilliant Dynamites Neon have hidden depths.
Tumblr media
Oh... Ow... The detailing here is just ow for the hands of an artist. Perhaps I overreacting, but those fine lines in the crooks and crannies make me wince.
Once again tag responses:
@revenantghost
Tumblr media
Yeah. The more I see his work, the more I'm awed by his skills. That's a cool detail that his design incorporate realism. I thought the glasses are for the light tho? But maybe it's like those the Olympian gunners wore during the competition?
The dead REALLY haunting the narrative? Looking forward to it!
@takeshidude
Tumblr media
Ok. Monthly publication are still grueling but at least its not as nightmarish with weekly mangakas. No wonder the quality is consistent with the art. Nightow was allowed to breathe.
You make a good point. '98 did have a bit of a mystery woven into it. We know Vash the Stampede - we follow his misadventures and people kept saying who he is ad nauseam in every episode. However, we don't really know know him for quite a long time. It's a different, but no less interesting, spin to the story.
Which kinda explains I'm misremembering some scenes and characterizations? The last third of '98 made a long lasting impression that I kinda forgot about Vash's horn dogginess.
#trigunbookclub#trimax journey#there is no escape#i'm due for a re-watch of '98#but i am a bit upset at the change of who mentioned july#yeah some may say it's a tiny thing but those questions about july COMING FROM bdn before the duel is just much more impactful!#especially when contrasted with the previous chapter where vash tells kaite about his pacifistic ideals#it's a metaphorical slap to the face like...#PREVIOUSLY - vash: kaite i don't want to kill because i promised someone i never would#CURRENTLY - bnd: oi vash! why fuck did you kill everyone in july?#just the absolute whiplash minfuck of it all! tho '98 did it too because Miss Avenger episode was AFTER the Love & Peace one#the events just kinda flows so much better here in the manga than '98...#ALSO! bnd mentioning july makes it more convincing that he's not a 100% asshole thirsting for nothing but mayhem and blood#'98 keeping his 'life shines brighest' line is a bit lackluster when he didn't show any redeeming qualities whatsoever#here in the manga there is an implication that while he is a ruthless criminal - he has a line that he thinks vash had crossed#hence his seemingly more 'personal' stake on the duel#idk aughhh#sorry for rambling here for too long in the tags#i'm going back and forth at this#because '98 isn't bad AND they did stick to the core idea regarding the july question to vash#plus people losing their humanity to fight for survival is plain terrifying#sigh... this manga is going to keep me at my toes even if i watched the two animes already

WELCOME BACK SPORTS FANS >:]
Eclipses are fun but you know whats better than an eclipse? thats right SPORTS.
And it seems like our 98 contestant is gonna eclipse (jeje) stampede vash pretty soon
Episode 8 here we go
we start right where we left it off yesterday. the contestant strikes a "yikes statement" point. honestly hes mostly complaining about a bad situation but the suffering division will grant the point because of the line "death and poverty like me so much they brought friends." it is meant to be funny but yknow what they say about comedy.
and he keeps going. we are not joking he literally makes kai focus so they can move on. no sad flashbacks for anyone that isnt 98 vash.
he moves fast. shoots some people and tries to escape. the contestant makes a run for it and hes cornered! the contestant hits many points in a row: 1 "bad event" for getting shot at, 1 "action" for trying to save someone else instead of taking care of his own wound, and 1 "action" for calling his ideals stupid. hes going at full speed
he strikes another 1 "action" point because of trying to deal with the ship while hurt and then BUM, 1 "bad event" point for getting trapped. he hits another "action" point for just...starring at the badlads while they shoot him without hitting him.
The contestant manages to escape thanks to the girls and hurries to get more points. 1 "action" point for getting into a duel while wounded.
Everyone waits for the coin to drop and...IT HITS THE FLOOR. THE CONTESTANT RUNS, SHOOTS BDN, AND HE FALLS MY SWEET PEOPLE OF THE AUDIENCE. HE FALLS AND GETS 1 "ACTION" POINT FOR TEARING HIS OWN WOUNDS OPEN BLEEDING ON THE FLOOR WHILE FIGHTING.
The contestant takes a step back (because he cant move) and lets kai resolve the issue with the sandsteamer. When he wakes up he gathers the last points of the episode. He hits 1 "action" point for laughing at a death threat. He also hits 1 "action" point for crying at rem's song. What a nice way to end the episode
THE CONTESTANT WENT HARD TODAY. 98 vash finishes today's episode with 11 points, making his new total 60 points!

Flags With PluralKit
Hi! I've been noticing an influx of people who don't really know what the 'flags' on PluralKit messages mean.
!! This is specifically for the pk;s l / pk;l command. !!
As we all know, when you list out your PK members, it shows you a list of your members. However, there are some flags that you can add to your regular pk;s l commands to get more specific.
note! i am going to refer to this command as pk;s l the entire guide, because that is how i learned how to use the bot. however, it still works with pk;l.
SORTING
pk;s l -bn
"by name"
sorts members, well, by name.
Example:
Tumblr media
ID: a list of system members after running the pk;s l -bn command. they are in alphabetical order.
pk;s l -bdn
"by DISPLAY name"
sorts members by display name, if set
sorts in alphabetical order
Example:
Tumblr media
ID: a list of system members after running the pk;s l -bdn command. they are in alphabetical order by set display name.
pk;s l -bid
"by member id"
sorts members by given id, in alphabetical order
Example: For privacy reasons, there is no example given.
pk;s l -bmc
"by message count"
sorts members by message count, from highest to lowest
Example:
Tumblr media
ID: a list of system members after running the pk;s l -bmc command. they are in numerical order by highest to lowest, with the highest given at 50,325 messages, and the lowest at 4,665 messages.
pk;s l -bc
"by creation date"
sorts members by creation date
Example:
Tumblr media
ID: a list of system members after running the pk;s l -bc command. they are listed in order by who was created first.
pk;s l -blf or pk;s l -bls
"by last front" / "by last switch"
sorts members by the last time they switched in
Example:
Tumblr media
ID: a list of system members after running the pk;s l -blf command. they are ordered by last switch in, with the most recent switched in members at the top.
pk;s l -blm
"by last message"
sorts members by when their last message was sent
UNFORTUNATELY AVALIABLE AS OF 20/11/2022
Tumblr media
(please ignore pk's name)
pk;s l -rev or pk;s l -r
"reverse"
reverses the order of the last command given
stackable command, can be added on to the end of a command like pk;s l -bmc or pk;s l -blf
Example:
Tumblr media
ID: a list of system members after running the pk;s l -r command. they are ordered in reverse order of the command given.
pk;s l -random
"random sort"
self explanatory
Example:
Tumblr media
ID: a list of system members after running the pk;s l -random command. they are ordered randomly.
FILTER
CAN BE APPLIED AT THE END OF ALL PK;S L COMMANDS.
pk;s l -all
"all"
sorts with everyone, private or otherwise

Tumblr media
ID: a list of system members after running the pk;s l -all command. they are ordered in their given format (alphabetically), but all are shown.
pk;s l -po
"private only"
sorts by private members only
ADDITIONAL FIELDS
pk;s l -wls or pk;s -wlf
"with last switch" / "with last front"
sorts members ALONG with their last front

Life on the Strip
Inspiration: CSI: Las Vegas, other people on BDN making mafia AUs, and just in general loving the aesthetic of Las Vegas
What it's about: In a world where the Mafia never left the Vegas strip and it was run by multiple families to begin with, the Pines family have become a pretty prosperous little mafia family through loansharking and black market art sales, but one day they cross someone they shouldn’t have, the Strange family. See, Mabel had sold the head of the Strange family, Tad, an expensive piece of art, but once Tad had learned that the piece was counterfeit, he sent his goons to kidnap Mabel and hold her hostage for ransom of a return payment for the piece.
However, Tad had destroyed the piece upon discovering it was counterfeit and Stan is hesitant to pay the money back without a return of the goods. Dipper, angered at his great-uncle’s heartlessness, chooses to instead attempt to outsource help from a larger family more on level with the Strange family.
His search brings him to The Golden Eye Casino, one of the most popular casinos on the strip, and base operations of the Cipher family, the most powerful gang in the city. (The Golden Eye basically replaces the Golden Nugget in this universe.) Dipper’s rooting around on the casino floor catches the attention of the higher ups and is taken up to the top floor of the casino where he’s brought before Bill, the head of the Cipher family. Bill asks him what a small-time art curator was doing sneaking around his casino.
Dipper gets on his hands and knees and begs for Bill’s help, after getting the kid to slow down and explain his situation, Bill admits that he’s been having a few problems of his own with the Strange family and would love to take Tad down a peg or two and will try to save Mabel in the process, but in exchange, Dipper must join the Cipher family and become Bill’s lover and eventually husband.
Dipper reluctantly agrees, desperate to save his sister, but on the condition that he gets to have an actual working position within the family as well. Bill agrees and says he’ll give Dipper a position as soon he finds one. With time, Bill discovers that Dipper has a talent for just… disappearing without a trace. Even masking his presence from people standing right next to him. Bill decides to use this talent to make Dipper an assassin. His personal assassin. A few years later, Bill proposes a merger of his and the Pines family with a wedding.
Notes: In this AU, Dipper is tiny. He’s 5’7” and very wiry. All the other hitmen, enforcers and such in the gang are twice his size at least and they’re all terrified of him. Why? Well this tiny guy can disappear right before their eyes, kill them easily with anything at his disposal, and only takes orders directly from the head honcho himself. He’s also very androgynous looking, as he lets his hair grow out, it starts getting harder and harder to tell him apart from Mabel, especially when he puts on a dress and makeup. He wasn’t comfortable at first wearing feminine clothes, but eventually learned he felt rather comfortable in them, oftentimes even preferring them. This comfort in wearing clothes of any kind makes it that much easier to blend into a crowd for an assignment.
Let me know if you're interested in this AU! ^_^

China – The Belt and Road Initiative – The Bridge that Spans the World The Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), also called the New Silk Road, is based on a 2,100-year-old trade route between the Middle East and Eastern Asia, called the Silk Road. It wound its ways across the huge landmass Eurasia to the most eastern parts of China. It favored trading, based on the Taoist philosophy of harmony and peaceful coexistence – trading in the original sense of the term, an exchange with “win-win” outcomes, both partners benefitting equally. Today, in the western world we have lost this concept. The terms of trade are imposed always by the ‘stronger’ partner, the west versus the poorer south – the south where most of the natural resources are lodged. Mother Earth’s assets have been and are coveted by the west – or north – for building and maintaining a lifestyle in luxury, abundance and waste. This trend has lasted for centuries of western colonialism: Exploitation, loot, esclavisation and rape of entire peoples of the Global South by the Global North, to use the current soothing World Bank lingo. The New Silk Road, or BRI, is Chinese President Xi Jinping’s brainchild. It’s based on the same ancient principles, adjusted to the 21st Century, building bridges between peoples, exchanging goods, research, education, knowledge, cultural wisdom, peacefully, harmoniously and ‘win-win’ style. On 7 September 2013, Xi presented BRI at Kazakhstan’s Nazarbayev University. He spoke about “People-to-People Friendship and Creating a better Future”. He referred to the Ancient Silk Road of more than 2,100 years ago, that flourished during China’s Western Han Dynasty (206 BC to 24 AD). Referring to this epoch of more than two millenniums back, Xi Jinping pointed to the history of exchanges under the Ancient Silk Road, saying, “they had proven that countries with differences in race, belief and cultural background can absolutely share peace and development as long as they persist in unity and mutual trust, equality and mutual benefit, mutual tolerance and learning from each other, as well as cooperation and win-win outcomes.” President Xi’s vision may be shaping the world of the 21st Century. The Belt and Road Initiative is designed and modeled loosely according to the Ancient Silk Road. President Xi launched this ground-breaking project soon after assuming the Presidency in 2013. The endeavor’s idea is to connect the world with transport routes, infrastructure, industrial joint ventures, teaching and research institutions, cultural exchange and much more. Since 2017, enshrined in China’s Constitution, BRI has become the flagship for China’s foreign policy. BRI is literally building bridges and connecting people of different continents and nations. The purpose of the New Silk Road is “to construct a unified large market and make full use of both international and domestic markets, through cultural exchange and integration, to enhance mutual understanding and trust of member nations, ending up in an innovative pattern with capital inflows, talent pool, and technology database”. BRI is a perfect vehicle for building peacefully a World Community with a Shared Future for Mankind – which was the theme of an international Forum held in Shanghai, from 5-7 November, a tribute to China’s 70th Anniversary of her Revolution and achievements – with a vision into the future. BRI is a global development strategy adopted by the Chinese Government. Already today BRI has investments involving more than 150 countries and international organizations – and growing – in Asia, Africa, Europe, the Middle East and the Americas. BRI is a multi-trillion investment scheme, for transport routes on land and sea, as well as construction of industrial and energy infrastructure and energy exploration – as well as trade among connected countries. Unlike WTO (World Trade Organization), BRI is encouraging nations to benefit from their comparative advantages, creating win-win situations. In essence, BRI is to develop mutual understanding and trust among member nations, allowing for free capital flows, a pool of experts and access to a BRI-based technology data base. At present, BRI’s closing date is foreseen for 2049 which coincides with new China’s 100th Anniversary. The size and likely success of the program indicates, however, already today that it will most probably be extended way beyond that date. It is worth noting, though, that only in 2019, six years after its inception, BRI has become a news item in the West. Remarkably, for six years BRI was as much as denied, or ignored by the western media, in the hope it may go away. But away it didn’t go. To the contrary, many European Union members have already subscribed to BRI, including Greece, Italy, France, Portugal – and more will follow, as the temptation to participate in this projected socioeconomic boom is overwhelming. Germany, the supposed economic leader of Europe, is mulling over the benefits and contras of participating in BRI. The German business community, like business throughout Europe, is strongly in favor of lifting US-imposed sanctions and reconnecting with the East, in particular with China and Russia. But official Berlin is still with one foot in the White House – and with the other trying to appease the German – and European – world of business. This balancing act is in the long run not sustainable and certainly not desirable. At present BRI is already actively involved in over 80 countries, including at least half of the EU members. To counteract the pressure to join BRI, the European Union, basically run by NATO and intimately linked to Washington, has initiated their own ‘Silk Road’, attempting to connect Asia with Europe through Japan. In that sense, the EU and Japan have signed a “free trade agreement” which includes a compact to build infrastructure, in sectors such as energy, transport and digital devices. The purpose is to strengthen economic and cultural ties between the two regions, boosting business relations between Asia and Europa. It is an obvious effort to compete with or even sideline China’s BRI. But it is equally obvious that this response will fail. Usually initiatives taken in ill-fate are not successful. And China, non-belligerent China, is unlikely to challenge this EU-Japan competitive approach. In another approach to counter BRI, The U.S. Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC), Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), and Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC), launched on 4 November the Blue Dot Network (BDN), an initiative supposedly run entirely by private actors, funded by private banking, intended to bring together governments, the private sector, and civil society “to promote high-quality, trusted standards for global infrastructure development in an open and inclusive framework.” It is not clear how the BDN will interact with or counteract BRI. Anything run entirely by the private sector, especially western private banking, is no good omen for the country their “development effort” touches. Such investments’ objectives are primarily shareholder profits, not socioeconomic development benefitting the countries where they plan to invest. No competition for China’s BRI. Again, non-aggressive China is unlikely to react. China’s New Silk Road is creating a multipolar world, where all participants will benefit. The idea is to encourage economic growth, distributed in a balanced way, so as to prioritize development opportunities for those most in need. That means the under-developed areas of western China, eastern Russia, Central Asia, Central Europe – reaching out to Africa and the Middle East, Latin America, as well as to South East Asia and the Pacific. BRI is already actively building and planning some six to ten land and maritime routes, connecting Africa, the Middle East, Europe and South America. The expected multi-trillion-dollar equivalent dynamic budget is expected to be funded by China, largely, but not exclusively, by the Asian Infrastructure and Investment Bank (AIIB), by Russia – and by all the countries that are part of BRI and involved in singular or multi-country projects. The long-term return on these massive investments in people’s wellbeing is an exponential multiple of the original investments and cannot be limited to numerical economics, as social benefits of wellbeing cannot be defined by linear accounting. Implementing BRI, or the New Silk Road, is itself the realization of a vision of nations: Peaceful interconnectivity, joint infrastructure and industrial development, as well as joint management of natural resources. For example, BRI may help with infrastructure and management advice resolving or preventing conflicts on transboundary water resources. There are some 263 transboundary lake and river basins, covering almost half the earth’s surface and involving some 150 countries. In addition, there are about 300 transboundary aquifers serving about 2 billion people who depend on groundwater. The Chinese government calls the Silk Road Initiative “a bid to enhance regional connectivity and embrace a brighter future”. Today, John Lennon’s “Give Peace a Chance” is more relevant than ever. And China is a vanguard in promoting peaceful development across the globe. BRI, China’s foreign policy flagship, is clearly an initiative towards world Peace.

1/ Circuito 90% llano, 10% cuestas suaves. Can Solei i Ca l’Arnús.
Can Solei i Ca l’Arnús.

https://twitter.com/MagicBDNRunning/status/974334462812151809
https://twitter.com/MagicBDNRunning/status/973949442243137542
https://twitter.com/MagicBDNRunning/status/973614431367245834

Km 0,9 a 2,7
Paciencia.
3/ Passeig Marítim
Km 2,7 a 5
Km 5 a 5,5
5/ Parc de Can Solei i Ca L’Arnús
Km 5,5 a 5,9
KM 5,9 a 7,6
Km 7,6 a 8,3

Km 2,3 a 3
Km 3 ,3 a 4
Skateboarding was the best addition to the Tokyo Olympics
The BDN Opinion area runs individually and does not set newsroom policies or add to reporting or modifying short articles in other places in the paper or on bangordailynews.com.
Caroline Petrow-Cohen is an Opinion intern at the Los Angeles Times.
Skateboarding made its Olympic launching at the Tokyo Games this year, bringing a revitalizing modification of speed to the world’s most significant competitors. Unlike most other Olympic occasions, the culture of skateboarding is based not in winning however in delight and uniqueness.
Since its beginning, skateboarding has actually defied conformity. Born in California in the 1950s, skateboarding ended up being associated with the counterculture of the ’60s and worked as a safe house for society’s castaways. Considered more of a way of life than a sport, skateboarding used an escape from the mainstream and a platform for individuals to be themselves.
Skateboarding’s international appeal released it onto the Olympic phase, however its counterculture roots live and well. Other Olympic occasions exist within a plainly developed structure, however skateboarding has actually been anti-establishment from the start.
“Skateboarding presents so many more options than you typically have in sports,” stated Neftalie Williams, a going to fellow at Yale University and postdoctoral scholar at the University of Southern California, who studies the interaction of variety, identity and skate culture. “You have an entire sporting culture that’s marginalized, that has placed less emphasis on competition and focused more on expression, and has learned that that’s the vocabulary.”
In in this manner, skateboarding is almost difficult to specify. But ask a skater at any level what skating indicates to them, and you’ll get a comparable response: What attracted them to the sport was flexibility, neighborhood and imagination, not competitors or being the very best.
“There’s no other sport in the world, no other art in the world, no other culture in the world that transcends boundaries in the way that skateboarding does,” stated sponsored Los Angeles skater Ethan Singleton, who’s dealt with research study with Williams at the University of Southern California.
Skateboarding doesn’t rather suit any standard sports box, much less the ultra competitive and extremely refined spirit of the Olympic Games. But its existence in Tokyo brought a playfulness and uniqueness to the sport world’s most significant phase.
“I was having an absolute blast,” American bronze medalist Jagger Eaton stated about completing in the street occasion, where he nodded his head to music and chuckled with his fellow rivals at the top of the course. All 20 skateboarders completing there got along with one another, he stated.
“Growing up, skateboarding was my freedom and my creative outlet,” Eaton stated. “Skateboarding is an art form, and every one of us does it differently. Name another sport like that in the Olympic Games.”
Every skateboarder has their own distinct design, exposed in the method they approach barriers, pop techniques or get their board midair. There are no guidelines in skateboarding, no requirements, no stiff structure — even at the Olympics. According to Mimi Knoop, expert skateboarder and head coach for the U.S. Olympic skateboard group, judges score the professional athletes based upon technique development, trouble level and creativity.
“We don’t have points for certain tricks because we wanted to stay away from that to keep it a little more creative,” Knoop stated. “It comes down to little subtleties that aren’t really written down or necessarily defined in our sport. It makes things a little subjective, but that’s just how we do it.”
In the middle of tense competitors and psychological health battles, skateboarding resembled a beacon of light as I viewed the Olympic Games.
“Skateboarding is where I feel I can express myself and let my own creativity play out,” American Olympian Alana Smith stated. “At the Olympics, I definitely feel like it freshens up the environment and shows that it doesn’t have to be such a stressful time.”
While skateboarding enables a professional athlete’s uniqueness to shine through, the neighborhood is cohesive also. “I feel like we’ve always been looked at as the outcasts,” Smith stated, describing the social preconception pinned on skateboarders, “and we’ve all become a really big family.”
If you viewed the Olympics, the method the skateboarders connected with each other was frequently in plain contrast to other professional athletes. Competitors at some occasions, like gymnastics or swimming, generally didn’t roaming far from their colleagues. But skateboarders were delighting in each other’s business and lifting each other up despite nation association.
“From my point of view, we’re having a lot more fun than everyone else,” Knoop stated. “There’s an unspoken understanding between skaters and a bond that’s there.”
Not everybody concurs that skateboarding belongs in the Olympics. Some state the Games represent a commercialization that wanders off too far from skateboarding’s counterculture roots. But skateboarding never ever actually required the platform of the Olympics in the very first location.
Sports representative Yulin Olliver, who represents Olympians like Mariah Duran and Bryce Wettstein, stated that skateboarding as a sport and way of life is naturally self-dependent. There’s no requirement for coaches, groups or arranged competitors. Those things exist in skateboarding, obviously, however not out of need. As long as there are people who skateboard and discover delight in doing so, the culture of skateboarding will stay strong.

1/ Circuito 90% llano, 10% cuestas suaves. Can Solei i Ca l’Arnús.
2/ Circuito 95% asfalto y 5% tierra. Can Solei i Ca l’Arnús.

Km 1 a 2,7
Paciencia.
3/ Passeig Marítim
Km 2,7 a 5
Km 5 a 5,5
5/ Parc de Can Solei i Ca L’Arnús
Km 5,5 a 5,9
KM 5,9 a 7,6
Km 7,6 a 8,3
Vamossss.

Blockchain advisory and product development firm Akomba Labs conducted a test on the Ethereum network that shows it can make block propagation at least twice as fast.
Coindesk reported on Nov. 27 that Akomba Labs — in collaboration with the scalability-focused blockchain startup BloXroute — ran a two-week test measuring the results of running BloXroute’s Blockchain Distribution Network (BDN) on the Ethereum network.
Test findings showed that the average block propagation performance significantly improved, dropping from 360 milliseconds without the BDN to 172 milliseconds with it.
The test results further indicate that BDN could potentially present itself as a solution to Ethereum’s scalability debacle. BloXroute CEO Uri Klarman commented:
“Ethereum feels the burn of the scalability bottleneck more than any other blockchain out there […] It’s losing momentum, it’s losing market share. They feel the problem. most others don’t.”
Klarman added that BDN is already running in some of the mining pools and that it will be gradually introduced to more larger pools. Klarman said on Twitter that it is “not just about making the network faster, it is about making it bigger, without making it slower.”
BitTorrent creator calls out Ethereum’s co-founder Vitalik Buterin
Bran Cohen, best known as the creator of BitTorrent, recently explained why he considers many of Vitalik’s opinions addressing the so-called “hard problems in cryptocurrency,” to be “wrong-headed.”
Cohen first took a few stabs at Vitalik’s views on sharding and blockchain scalability, just before he made it abundantly clear that he is no fan of Vitalik’s ASIC-resistant proof of work (PoW) algorithm, calling it a “pipe dream and a bad idea.”
