So the newest albums in the TikTok series "EPIC: The Musical" came out about a month or two ago, and I'm just gonna say it - these songs are the catchiest songs in the series so far!
Though as I kept listening to them, I kept wondering if my Beyblade God AU would fit into the plot.
And I decided... oh heck yeah!
So I've decided that I'm starting a new series in my Work Doodles (ONLY my work doodles), in which I'm going to draw my Beyblade God AU characters singing the songs from the new albums. They'll be portrayed as the various gods and mythical characters that appear in the songs. I've already drawn the first one!
Tumblr media
First up is the Kiyama boys, also known as the Three Winds!
They’re singing as Aeolus and her “winions” from the song “Keep Your Friends Close”, the third song in the Ocean Saga. For this concept, I guess I could have gone with the Aoi siblings, since they’re also known as the Siblings of the Storm. I decided on the Kiyama boys, though, because Odysseus and his men are technically trying to get through a tropical storm, which is more the Three Winds’ territory. Rantaro is the God of Hurricanes, Ranjiro is the God of Typhoons, and Ranzo is the God of Tornadoes, which is technically a storm that happens on land, but not having him there would make the ensemble feel incomplete.
To be honest, I find the image of Honcho singing “Keep your friends close and your enemies closer~” with Cap’n and Ranzo adding “Never really know who you can trust~” over his shoulders very funny.
And here’s the song that this doodle was based on, animated by the amazing @gigizetz , who I learned is here on Tumblr! See you guys in the next work doodle!

Prompt: Meeting the Family
Tumblr media
Prompt from: @yearoftheotpevent
Media: Danganronpa
Genres: Non-despair AU, no talents AU (???), all three mainline games (+UDG) exist in the same universe, Hope's Peak is just a normal high school, pre-established relationship, fluff (?), nerds being nerds (ig)
Characters: Nagito Komeada, Hajime Hinata, Rantaro Amani, Kiyotaka Ishimaru, Makoto Naegi (mentioned), Komaru Naegi (mentioned), Kaede Akamatsu (mentioned), unnamed parents of Nagito, Hajime, Makoto, and Komaru
Pairing(s): Hajime/Nagito, Makoto/Taka (implied)
CW/TW - Brief mentions of Nagito's backstory, implied adultery & divorce
Other Notes: wow my first danganronpa fic and it's komahina. I usually try to do rarepairs for these monthly challenges but I saw the prompt and the story had been laid out before me I just had too </3 (I'll do some more dr rarepairs in the future).
this is entirely based off of me seeing Rantaro's sprites and going "wow you look like you could be related to Nagito!"
I also have yet to beat drv3 so uhh if Rantaro's characterization is weird that is why olol
Word Count - 3888
“Hajime, would you like to meet him?”
“I’m sorry?” The wind tossed around the fallen yellow leaves carelessly, the trees swaying gently. The hot air trapped the humidity in Hajime’s clothes, and he felt at least five degrees warmer than he should’ve. It wasn’t as hot compared to the summer months, but sitting out in the sun still seemed to cook him alive. His clothes weren’t particularly heavy, especially compared to Nagito’s, but he seemed to be sweating like crazy. …It probably didn’t help that he was sitting directly in the sun, when all of the shade seemed to conveniently cover Nagito perfectly. How did he even survive in the summer heat with that heavy green coat of his?
Hajime made a point to sit as far away from Nagito on the bench as possible, not wanting to be smothered by said coat. The humidity killed any chance of Hajime allowing Nagito to get near him at all. Although, that didn’t stop Nagito from trying. Without properly scooting over, Nagito leaned to his left, his hand slowly crawling over to Hajime’s. With a heavy sigh, Hajime complied, his tan fingers intertwining with Nagito’s. They were both a little sweaty, but in this heat? That was just fine. It was an oddly serene moment, something they hadn’t had in a while. And, much to Hajime’s surprise, Nagito was being relatively normal about it all!
At least, until he asked that odd question. “Him? Who is him?”
Nagito smiled, a facial expression Hajime was familiar with. Even though his gray eyes were soft, Hajime knew better than to believe that he was about to say something even remotely sane.
“I’ve just been thinking…” Not a good sign. “We’ve been dating for a while, right?”
“Right.”
“Well, I think it’s about time that you met my family. That’s what couples do, I think.”
“What family?” Hajime asked before he could stop himself, an eyebrow rising. Last time he checked, Nagito was an orphan.
“Haha, ouch Hajime!” Nagito chuckled to himself, holding his hands up to his chest. “Although I don’t blame you for thinking that, it’s my fault you got the wrong idea about my family situation…”
With a soft hum, Nagito thought for a bit, a hand going up to his chin. Hajime could almost see the lightbulb appear over his head as he let go of Hajime’s hand. He shifted around in his pockets for a moment before pulling out his phone. Hajime scooted a little closer, leaning in as Nagito pulled up a photo.
“Who is that?”
“My brother. He’s the only other family I have left!” Nagito said it with such conviction that it was difficult to remember how heartbreaking it was. The photo was dated about three months ago, in the middle of the summer. Nagito and his brother, little brother, Hajime assumed, were in front of a store that Hajime didn’t recognize. Maybe it was out of town somewhere? Regardless, the other man in the image was nearly a splitting image of Nagito, or, perhaps more accurately, their parents. There were some obvious differences, sure. That was to be expected with siblings, but these two were similar in ways that Hajime didn’t even expect.
For starters, they had the same smile. In just a simple photo, Hajime could see the same curt smile that Nagito had on his little brother. That smile drove him nuts, as he could never tell what exactly Nagito was feeling at any given time. He couldn’t believe it was genetic. He almost had the mind to wonder which parent gave it to the both of them, before disregarding the thought. His little brother had light green hair, perhaps it was dyed? Hajime wasn’t sure. His hair had the same texture that Nagito’s did, albeit being much shorter and more controlled. His bangs were swept to the left side of his face.
“His name is Rantaro.” Nagito said, watching Hajime’s face as he looked over the image. Hajime’s eyes landed on the multiple piercings in his ears. There was one in his lobe and five along the outside cartilage. “He did all those piercings himself! I said that we had the money for him to get them done professionally, but he didn’t want to do that. Isn’t he so cool?”
“Rantaro?” Hajime asked, sitting up as Nagito slipped his phone back into his jacket pocket. “Like, Rantaro Amani? Same guy?”
“Yup. Same guy. He took our mother’s maiden name when she passed. But according to the law he’s Rantaro Komaeda.” Nagito looked up into the sky, smiling to himself. “I’m excited to introduce you to him. Unless, you’ve already…?”
Hajime shook his head, leaning forward on the bench in an attempt to get some airflow between his shirt and sweaty skin. “I’ve seen him around but we’ve never officially talked.” He nudged Nagito with his elbow. “I can’t believe Rantaro is your brother. He’s really popular, you know.”
“I do know, Hajime!” Nagito grabbed Hajime by his shoulders, gripping onto him tightly. Nagito smiles, his light eyes filled with a loving somberness. “I was so worried about him for the longest time. But here, at Hope’s Peak, he’s making friends and he’s talking with people! I was terrified that he’d end up like me, but he’s not and I’m so proud of him.
“And, just between you and I, Hajime, I think it’s this school. I knew I had found a good place for him when we enrolled here. Aren’t I just the luckiest?”
With a slight nod of his head, Hajime grasped Nagito’s hand, intertwining their fingers once more. “So, when can I meet this brother of yours?”
A smile appeared on Nagito’s face once more. “Right now, if you’d like. I can drive to my place. He doesn’t have any after school activities on Thursdays, so he should be home right about now.”
Despite Hajime nodding and not protesting when Nagito led him to his truck which was parked in the Hope’s Peak school parking lot, a sinking feeling of dread pooled in his stomach. It wasn’t that Nagito was a poor driver, quite the opposite in fact. He followed all traffic laws, made safe decisions, and had never gotten a ticket (or, so he said). That didn’t stop the intense anxiety from gripping at Hajime’s heart when he strapped himself into the passenger seat of the car and tensed as Nagito placed the key into the ignition.
The engine shuttered and groaned. Nagito’s truck was a piece of work, and Hajime was fairly certain that it must’ve belonged to his grandparents with how old it was. There was never a ride that Nagito took Hajime on where he didn’t worry about being blown to smithereens due to a gas leak or something. The truck was a manual, and whenever Nagito changed gears, the engine would sputter and growl, and Hajime swore he could see soot coming from beneath the hood at times.
If Hajime could do the impossible and look past the poor condition of the truck, then Nagito’s actual driving skills were impressive to a scary degree. If he didn’t know Nagito as well as he did, he wouldn’t allow him within seven feet of the wheel. For the first few years of their friendship, and the first month or so of their relationship, he did just that. It wasn’t until a situation much like the one he was currently in, where he was on the passenger side of things. Nagito wanted to show Hajime where he lived and suddenly he was in the passenger side of the old, gray truck. He could’ve sworn he’d seen his life flash before his eyes.
Nagito’s house was about a forty-five minute drive from Hope’s Peak, and it there was generally uneventful. Nagito and Rantaro lived in a large house, not exactly mansion level but it was definitely on the verge, that sat atop a large hill. There were a few other houses in the area, and Hajime had to guess that the taxes in such a place were astronomical. The first few times he went over to Nagito’s place, he hadn’t seen any evidence that he had a little brother. The house was…relatively bare, which only made it seem larger. He was sure that there were photos of Rantaro somewhere in the house, he just hadn’t seen them. He and Nagito mostly spent time in his bedroom or in the living room. He had to guess that Rantaro had been avoiding those rooms whenever he came over, so as not to disturb them.
The truck pulled into the driveway, but not into the large garage. The door had been left open and a second, smaller car, had been parked dead center inside. The garage was big enough to fit two cars relatively comfortably, but the truck wouldn’t be able to fit on either side of it. Hajime turned to Nagito who grimaced, one of his eyes twitching as he put the truck into park and pulled the key out of the ignition.
“Rantaro…” He grunted quietly as he shoved the keys into his pocket. Hajime slung his backpack over his shoulder as he exited the car along the same time as Nagito, closing the door behind him. The truck beeped as Nagito locked it with the keys, slipping them into his pocket. Hajime hadn’t noticed before, but the keys had a small, beaded decoration on them. It didn’t look like anything else Nagito owned, so he had to wonder where it came from.
The pair walked over to the open garage and Nagito rubbed his forehead. “He could’ve at least closed it…”
“Haha.” Hajime looked at the car, supposedly Rantaro’s, and squinted. It looked…awful. He couldn’t point out the exact model, but looking at it, it had to be at least a decade old. It was a small black car with paint chips here and there, as well as a dent or two. Nagito had all this money, and he had yet to get his little brother a new car?
That wasn’t normally a thought that Hajime had, but he knew around the amount of inheritance that Nagito had gained, and buying another small car wouldn’t be hard on his income.
“He’s getting a new car for his birthday.”
“Sorry?”
Nagito smiled, pressing the buttons on the outside panel to close the garage. He gestured for Hajime to follow him as he began the ascent up the stairs to the front door. “I could tell what you were thinking, about his car, I mean. I know I seem awful for not getting him a new one sooner and making him drive around in that awful thing, but I knew I wanted to get him a new one for his birthday! So I had to make him wait.
“But you can’t say anything, okay, Hajime? It’s a surprise! He has no idea.”
“Yeah, of course.” Hajime nodded, his hands in his pockets as he walked. “Your secret is safe with me. Do you know what kind of car you’re getting him?”
“Mm…” Nagito hummed, “I’m not completely sure yet, but I have a few in mind.”
The two reached the front door, and Nagito jiggled the doorknob. Locked.
“Oh, so he locks the front door but doesn’t close the garage? Typical…” Nagito muttered to himself as he pulled out his keys. He fumbled for a moment, before getting the right key into the front door. It opened with a swift click and Hajime wondered why he didn’t just get one of those locks with a code instead of a key. Maybe the house was just built that way? He wasn’t sure.
With an apologetic look on his face, Nagito turned back to face Hajime. “Ahh, sorry about that, Hajime! Come on in.”
The door was held open, and Hajime walked in, Nagito following suit. Hajime had to pause when he entered the house. It wasn’t the first time he had been there, but he had to marvel at it every time. The interior was absolutely gorgeous. He slipped off his shoes at the front door, setting them next to the other pairs of shoes. He set them next to a pair of brown hiking boots, and he supposed that they had to belong to Rantaro. When he first saw them when he came over, he just assumed they were Nagito’s. But he had never seen Nagito wear them (nor did he think that Nagito actually hiked), so they must’ve been Rantaro’s. He quickly set his school bag on a nearby hook, making sure to not stray far from the entrance.
“Rantaro?” Nagito called as Hajime did small circles near the front door, glancing around for the slippers that Nagito had provided last time. He didn’t even want to think about stepping onto the shimmering wooden floors in his socks. “Are you in the living room?”
“Hey, Nagito? Where are-?!” Before Hajime could finish, Nagito grabbed him by the hand and pulled him onto the floor anyway. He looked at Nagito with wide eyes, his head cocking to the side in shock. Nagito raised an eyebrow before laughing softly to himself. He dismissed Hajime’s concerns with a wave of his hand and continued to drag him through the large house.
The pair entered the kitchen, and Hajime locked eyes with the one and only Rantaro. He looked almost exactly like the photo that Nagito had shown him earlier, his hair just being a bit longer. Only the piercings on his lobes had earrings at the moment, but he had other jewelry on. He had on a necklace with a leather chain and a crystal attached to it, and if he and Nagito were akin at all, the crystal was completely authentic (although Hajime couldn’t tell exactly). He also had a variety of bracelets on, being both metal and leather.
Rantaro was sitting at the table, one leg crossed over the other. He was wearing a thinly striped blue sweater, and he leaned into his knuckles. His backpack was a foot or so away from him, so Hajime suspected he had been doing homework, or had been using his laptop for something or other. The two soon joined him at the table, both sitting across from him. His green eyes flickered from Hajime to Nagito and he raised an eyebrow.
“What’s going on?” He asked, no sense of distaste or anxiety in his tone. It was just a simple, sincere question.
“I figured that it’s about time for you and Hajime to meet properly.” Nagito said, his hand subtly moving over to land on Hajime’s thigh. However, it was swiftly moved, their fingers now intertwined. “I’ve met his family, so it was only a matter of time until he met you.”
“Oh, cool.”
“And don’t worry, this visit won’t take long. You’ll be able to finish up your work soon.” Nagito stood up, and Hajime raised an eyebrow at him. He placed his hand on Hajime’s shoulder, looking down and smiling. “Would you like some tea, Hajime? I could make us some.”
“Hm? Oh yeah. That’d be great, thanks.”
With a swift nod, Nagito walked away, leaving the two at the table by themselves. Hajime picked up on his intentions almost immediately. Nagito wanted him and Rantaro to try and hold a conversation without him. Which was reasonable, he supposed. That didn’t mean it was any less awkward. He knew very little about Rantaro, and was unsure of how to start a conversation with him.
Much to his luck, Nagito came through for him. At least for now.
“Rantaro, where’s the tea we got this week?”
To respond, Rantaro leaned to his side so he could look at Nagito. Hajime did the same. His face scrunched up slightly as he spoke: “In the garage I think.”
The cabinet door closed and Nagito looked at his little brother with exasperation written all over his face. “Why is it in the garage?”
“You said we didn’t have any room in the pantry,” Rantaro said, crossing his arms. “So you told me to put the extra packages in the garage when I brought the groceries in.” “And you didn’t bring any in when you saw that we were out?”
“I don’t drink tea, Nagito. I only drink it when you make it. So, yeah, I didn’t notice.”
Nagito muttered something that Hajime probably didn’t want to hear before walking off, presumably to the garage. Rantaro sighed, putting his crossed arms on the table, he pushed some of his green hair out of his face as he did so.
“Sorry about that.”
“Haha, it’s no problem. I ended up doing the same thing to Nagito with Makoto the first time he came over.”
There was a pause and Rantaro gave him a small smile of disbelief. “Naegi’s your brother?”
“My half-brother, yeah.”
“Which side?”
“We share a dad.”
Hajime hoped that Rantaro wouldn’t press further. He didn’t feel like going into the intricacies of the drama between their shared father and their mothers. It was a whole thing, and he was tired of hearing about it.
“Is Naegi as awesome of a brother as he is a guy?” “Yeah. He is. He’s pretty cool.” He was thankful for a brother like Makoto. In some other family, he might’ve been considered a bastard child or something. Maybe it was the bare minimum, but he was really appreciative that both Makoto and Komaru just treated him like another sibling. It was nice. Their mother was a whole other story, but he’d rather not think about all of that at the moment.
An awkward silence fell over the two, and Hajime figured he should be the one to try and start up the next conversation.
“So…I’ve seen you around Hope’s Peak.”
“Yeah?” “Yeah. I’ve seen you with uh, this blond girl? Is she just a friend or…?”
“Ah, Kaede?” Rantaro put the side of his face into his palm, really leaning into it. He smiled, his eyes drifting off to the side. “She’s a good friend of mine. If you get the chance, you should go to the music festival. She’ll be playing piano. She’s really good.”
“I’ll see if I can catch her performance.” Hajime nods, his fingers drumming on the table. “I’m going anyway. A few friends of mine are doing a performance.”
“Oh nice.”
Another silence.
Goddamnit, where was Nagito when you needed him?
“...You don’t really drink tea?”
“Yeah.” He hummed, his eyes rolling back to look at Hajime. “But Nagito does, so whenever he makes it I take some as well.”
The pair went quiet, except this time, it was to listen in on something else. Nagito’s muffled voice reverberated across the house, but neither were sure what exactly he was saying. There was another voice, and the two glanced at each other. Hajime stood up, unsure of what was happening. With Nagito’s luck (or bad luck, really), who knows who he could be talking to. His guard stayed up until the voices got closer and he recognized the person’s voice.
The beginning of the sentence was lost, but Hajime managed to get the last little bit of it. “...for something, not an emergency, but he said that it was urgent.”
Rantaro stood up as Nagito and the other person entered the kitchen, and both his and Hajime’s bodies relaxed. Standing next to Nagito was a familiar face, whose red eyes lit up.
“Hey Taka.”
“Hello Ishimaru.”
Taka placed his hands on his hips before smiling at the two. “Greetings to you both! I apologize for the intrusion, but Makoto sent me to pick you up, Hajime. I would have contacted you and asked when I should pick you up, but he said that it was urgent, so I simply did not have the time.”
“Urgent? Is everything okay? Is Komaru alright?”
“Komaru and the rest of your family are fine, do not worry about that.”
As Taka and Hajime continued to speak for a moment, Rantaro got up and slowly slinked over to Nagito. The two stood next to each other, watching for a moment before Rantaro asked something quietly.
“Who’s Komaru?”
Nagito leaned down a little and whispered back, “Naegi’s little sister. She goes to a different school.”
“Ah.”
“Amani!” Taka turned from Hajime after he finished speaking and placed his hand onto Rantaro’s shoulder. “I saw the video you turned in regarding our student body. You have quite a way with words! It was beautifully said!”
“Oh, hah, thanks.”
“I figured I’d tell you the next time I saw you in person, instead of via email.” With a smile, Taka put his hands on his hips once more. “I believe that it’s much more personal that way!”
Before Rantaro, or anyone else, for that matter, could say a word, Taka turned back to Hajime. Nagito could’ve sworn he felt a gust of air fly past him as Taka did so. The two exchanged quick words, with Hajime saying he’ll only take a minute to say his goodbyes. Taka left swiftly aftwards, giving Nagito a quick nod to thank him for allowing him inside his home. “Sorry about all this. I wish I could’ve stayed longer.”
“No worries, Hajime.” Nagito smiled, his hands shifting into his pockets. “I’m sure you’ll be back soon enough.”
A scoff left Hajime as he leaned over and pecked Nagito on his cheeks. It was especially chaste, but he didn’t want to embarrass Rantaro too much. “I’ll let you know what happened when I get home.”
“Don’t worry about it! You just take care of things.”
“And, I’ll see you around man. It was nice to meet you.” Hajime gave Rantaro a small smile and held up a fist. It took Rantaro a moment, but he caught on quickly and gave Hajime a fist bump.
“Yeah. Cya.”
Hajime, who just had too, gave Nagito one more goodbye kiss before walking back through the kitchen to the front door. He was followed by the two who lived there to send him off. He slipped his shoes back on, his bag slung over his shoulder. He opened the door, and once more he was hit with a wave of hot, humid air. God, he was so thankful for air conditioning. He gave Rantaro and Nagito a quick goodbye wave, getting one in return from the former, before leaving.
The only sound that was made for a moment or two was the sound of Taka’s car starting and then driving off. Nagito had shifted over to the front window and watched the car drive away.
“So.”
“So?” Rantaro raised an eyebrow.
“What do you think?”
All Nagito got was a shrug. “He seems nice. I see why you like him.”
Nagito beamed. It had been a quick meeting, sure. One that he would’ve wanted to go on for much longer, but there wasn’t much he could do. However, a good first impression was all that he could’ve hoped for from both parties, and it had been successful! He watched Rantaro as he walked back into the kitchen, a smile still on his face. It had been a rough few years, for the both of them.
But maybe, just maybe, things were getting better.
He had hope that was the case.

BAH!?
*A couple of hours pass, until Makoto suddenly lurches awake. Having been rescued and taken back to the Tower, he now lies in a hospital bed with an ice pack strapped to his head.
Tumblr media
...!?

[Flashback]
Tumblr media

Tumblr media
kuri...pah...?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
...
*Makoto unstraps the ice pack, still clutching his sore head, and tries to leave the empty room.
???: Don’t be so hasty.
Tumblr media
Huh!?
*At least he thinks it’s empty. He turns around to see someone sitting on the windowsill.
Tumblr media
What? You didn’t seriously think they wouldn’t leave anyone to watch over you while you slept?
Tumblr media
Oh...Akane...I-I mean Whitecloak! How did you...get in here?
Tumblr media
We’ve been permitted access, we can just come and go when we feel like it...provided we pass all the security details.
Tumblr media
That must be hard, especially considering you don’t want anyone to see your face.
Tumblr media
Yeah. Anyway, you clearly remember what happened before you conked out. What do you plan on telling everyone?
Tumblr media
...I don’t know...I just need to know why it is that Kuripa did that.
Tumblr media
Sure, Uchui was his best friend, but he understands more than anyone that Zetsubou are our enemies. I can’t understand why he did what he did.
Tumblr media
Then I suggest you pull the brakes on outing him for a moment, and take a close look at what he left behind for you. There’s a note in your pocket.
Tumblr media
...?
Tumblr media
Oh...!
*Makoto reaches into his hoodie pocket and pulls out a note. Whitecloak hops off the windowsill.
Tumblr media
Make sure you read that in full to hear his side of the story. I’m gonna go find Yuki.
Tumblr media
Alright. Thanks for looking after me...
Tumblr media
...Always.
Tumblr media
Huh?
Tumblr media
Nothing. It’s ok.
*Whitecloak exaunts.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oh, look who decided to join us!
Tumblr media
Spare me the biting comments, my head is already sore enough.
*Makoto arrives in the meeting room to find a fair few of his allies already there.
Tumblr media
How are you feeling Makoto?
Tumblr media
Heh...Head’s a little sore, but it’ll die down after a while.
Tumblr media
Good...Tell me, did you get any clue who it was that attacked you? Hina already told me that Uchui had backup.
Tumblr media
...
Tumblr media
...No, I didn’t see...They came up from behind, there wasn’t anything I could do.

I see...Very well then. A mystery for another day I suppose.
Tumblr media
Sorry I wasn’t able to capture Kamukura...So where did everyone else go?
Tumblr media
They’ve been going around dealing with their own thing. Me and my friends have already been caught up to speed.
Tumblr media
Yoruko and Sora went to attend to other duties around the tower, and Munakata is getting everybody ready.
Tumblr media
Komaru, Toko and Akeru have decided to go spend some quality family time together, but they’re on standby should we need them. And they’re also aware of the situation.
Tumblr media
What situation?
Tumblr media
Why don’t you let HIM tell you?
Tumblr media
Already on it.
*Rantaro stands to attention. The Future and Kisaragi Foundation members in the room watch as he and Nico stand to the front.
Tumblr media
Ok, so without ousting my sources, we have indeed come to a solid enough conclusion on what’s going on.
Tumblr media
Zetsubou almost certainly have a facility here in Hokkaido. It’s unlikely to be their primary base where they’re keeping the captive survivors, but it is almost certainly an important outpost regardless.
Tumblr media
(He must have gotten that information from Kuripa...or maybe Uchui?)
Tumblr media
I agree. Thinking about it now, there is multiple evidence of such a possibility. The main one being the roaming Monokuma’s we found while patrolling near here.
Tumblr media
There’s also Maki and Seiko’s appearance. They couldn’t have come too far from a Zetsubou outpost, or their main base when we found them in the town.
Tumblr media
Right...But there is another thing that’s caught my attention. Makoto, have you seen any recent news stories?
Tumblr media
No, I haven’t had the chance to yet. Why?
Tumblr media
Well...prepare yourself. This image is pretty visceral.
Tumblr media
!!??
Tumblr media
!!??
*Rantaro switches slides and shows another picture. It depicts a line of dead cattle lying on their side with their tongues hanging out and their eyes rolling back in their heads.
Tumblr media
What the hell!?
Tumblr media
Ugh...so grim...
Tumblr media
What happened to them?
Tumblr media
They were found near a branch of the Setose River. The police and local services cordoned the area off to protect citizens. The researchers suspect the air around the river is polluted, so densely that these cattle were intoxicated and killed.
Tumblr media
Poison gas?
Tumblr media
A virus of some kind. And by “some kind” I mean the “non-natural kind.” This ain’t no gas leak.
Tumblr media
Yoyo and I found those Monokuma’s not too far from the Setose River as well. There’s gotta be some sort of connection.
Tumblr media
Based on what Chiebukuro reported, the way I see it, Zetsubou are using it as a transport line...Though I’m not sure for what.
Tumblr media
If it’s true that it’s a transport line, then it’s gotta have a source!
Tumblr media
ERR0RM3SS4GE’s contacts have already affirmed that these two incidents are almost certainly related. Which means if we investigate these poor creatures...
Tumblr media
We can trace their deaths back to wherever Zetsubou are camping.
Tumblr media
Cool. Then that’s what we’ll do. What’s the plan?
Tumblr media
Well, one thing’s for sure. Whether or not this is an outpost or their main base, whatever Zetsubou are doing there won’t be good for Hokkaido. If whatever killed those cattle spreads to the rest of the state, thousands of people could be intoxicated, and maybe die...
Tumblr media
Taichi is right. We need to make sure that we do whatever it takes to get to the bottom of this. And no doubt once we end up locating these headquarters, we’ll have a fight on our hands.
Tumblr media
You said Munakata was already preparing the FF and KF soldiers for a siege, right?
Tumblr media
Yes, he was already clued in on this, so he started to act immediately. Even so, he said that he’ll need help.
Tumblr media
We don’t know how big the institute is. Depending on it’s true size, we might not even be able to attack it at all. However, he said that in the case that we do, three main strike squads will be needed.
Tumblr media
And he obviously can’t lead all three, so he’ll need some of our best fighters on hand. In a normal situation I would suggest Harukawa, but she’s clearly not in the best state right now. She’ll need time to recover and a lot of it.
Tumblr media
In that case...May I suggest Kuripa Kurafto and Kaede Akamatsu?
Tumblr media
Wha-!? Me!?
Tumblr media
Believe me, I’ve seen it firsthand on more than one occasion. Ever since the Fugitive incident, Kuripa has been training Kaede how to fight using a spear. She’s come quite far with it, even having been able to tangle with Kuripa one on one.
Tumblr media
If we’re looking for strong and capable fighters and leaders, look no further...Not to mention beautiful.
Tumblr media
Shuichiiii...!
Tumblr media
Keep it in your pants Saihara~
Tumblr media
He is right though. I think Kaede is a good choice. Assuming she’s up for it.
Tumblr media
Alright, sure. I can work with Kuripa and Munakata.
Tumblr media
In that case, all that’s left to do is inform Kuripa. We’ll leave that to you Makoto.
Tumblr media
...!?
Tumblr media
Um...actually...about that...I uh...sorta...kinda...don’t know where he is?
*Everyone’s heads turn.
Tumblr media
You what?
Tumblr media
Wh-What do you mean you “don’t know where he is?”
Tumblr media
E-Exactly that. After I woke up, I tried to find him but...Kuripa just up and disappeared.
Tumblr media
Does anyone else know where he’s gone?
Tumblr media
Now that you mention it...I haven’t seen Mr Kurafto ever since you headed out to buy medical supplies for Ms Kimura...
Tumblr media
Come to think of it, I haven’t seen that blue haired chick with him either...What was her name?
Tumblr media
Kibin Hatsudoki. She’s a professional hitwoman and Kuripa’s girlfriend.
Tumblr media
Well, in that case, you’d best get to work on tracking both of them down. Even if we find alternatives to lead our forces, it’s unwise to leave Kuripa out of sight and mind for too long. You know what he’s like.
Tumblr media
Oh boy do I...
Tumblr media
(Get back here as soon as you can Kuripa...I’ll be in hot water if you don’t...)
Tumblr media
So...what do we do in the meantime then?
Tumblr media
Mr Fujisaki, you’re the field commander you know? You’re the one who should be giving orders to us, not the other way around.
Tumblr media
I-I know that! But...I’m honestly a little lost on what to do...
Tumblr media
It’s alright. I have an idea. There’s no use standing around twiddling our thumbs while we wait for Kuripa and Kibin to get back from wherever they’ve gone. I want as much information on Zetsbou’s plans as possible.
*Kyoko stands up.
Tumblr media
You said that you brought the bodies of those two Monokuma’s back here to the Tower, right? See if you can download anything from their memories.
Tumblr media
I’m going to find that base...
Tumblr media
Wait what? You’re going out?
Tumblr media
I am a detective, Hina. I wouldn’t be very good at my job if I didn’t try and  investigate.
Tumblr media
But surely it’s a bad idea to go out scouting on your own?
Tumblr media
I’m not going on my own. Shuichi is coming with me.
Tumblr media
I am!? Oh...I-I guess I am...
Tumblr media
What? Can’t spend a little time for dear old me?
Tumblr media
No, no, of course not! It would be a pleasure.
Tumblr media
Are you sure this is wise, Kiriri?
Tumblr media
Despite everything, I’m still the Future Foundation’s chairwoman. We need as many people as possible to put in the legwork so we can combat the Zetsubou threat. What good would I be if I didn’t lead by example?
Tumblr media
Come on Shuichi. We’ll grab some hazmat suits from the researchers and head out immediately.
Tumblr media
Yes ma’am!

Here's my ship tierlist! I'm not a very shippy person so most of these aren't very extreme feelings. I know there's a lot going on here, but here's the rundown:
My favourite ships are the training trio, Saiouma, Saimota, and Gokumota (which I had to add myself because the tierlist maker didnt include it!!). Saiouma is very entertaining (detective x criminal on the run) and also based on love hotel stuff Kokichi does like. canonically have a bit of a crush on Shuichi which is fun. Also, for gokumota, I think Gonta and Kaito could've supported each other really well if they had gotten to know each other a bit better before ch4, and trial 4 really solidified this for me.
the Yeah This is Good! Category are all the ships that I don't have particularly strong feelings about but think are great and like seeing them around.
The neutral Category is fairly self explanatory. Most I feel nothing about either way. EXCEPT Korekiyo x Angie, which I have simultaneous strong negative and positive feelings about, but cancel out for a very intense neutral.
The People ship this? Category is a subcategory of neutral. Its all ships that I'd never even heard of before I looked at this tierlist maker but didn't feel strongly about either way.
The Not my thing Category are ships that I'm not super into, but dont feel particularly strong about. I Probably won't reblog stuff about these ships but its not extreme
The very uncomfy Category is a very much a personal-preference category. The last one does just make me uncomfortable. But the first two I Get why theyre so popular and I can see where people are coming from when they like these ships.
O/ugo/ku specifically makes me uncomfy because of how intense/personal trial 4 was for me. I Do still reblog o/ugo/ku stuff because I love almost anything with Gonta in it and as Kokichi is so popular, there's gonna be a lot of stuff with them interacting. For me personally, it's always platonic.
O/umo/ta makes me uncomfy in a different way, in that I just dont see those two really? Liking each other? From my read, they hate each other in canon. I can understand the appeal of a ship dynamic between characters involving a lot of conflict being dramatically interesting, but when I participate in shipping I like it being a lot more fluffy.
The No Thanks. At All. Category are ships that make me uncomfortable in a way that isn't very nuanced. I just don't like them for reasons I think should be fairly self explanatory? Yeah
If you wanna hear my specific thoughts on any ships send me a message!! Also, for those who can't see the image or prefer a list, I've listed out all the ships on the tierlist under the cut

Hello! If you can is it okay if you do...Kokicho,Fuyuhiko,Kaito, Rantaro and Togami? What would they do if somebody made their very kind and sweet s/o cry? Sorry if it’s too much ;w;
I haven’t actually gotten to V3 yet sadly so I can’t write for them. But I can write for Togami and Fuyuhiko! I’ll update this once I do get to V3, I hope these are okay for now
  Byakuya Togami
If Byakuya finds you crying, his first priority will be to comfort you, maybe not in the most affectionate way, but in his own way since he’s not too into physical touch. He’ll ask you what’s wrong, pull you closer to him, and try to calm you down
If your crying is light, then he’ll stroke your cheek and wipe the tears away. But if you’re crying violently, he’ll bring you into an embrace, rubbing circles on your back while cooing to you. This of course will only happen if you two are alone. He has an image
Once your crying has stopped he will take you to his dorm so that you can tell him what happens without anyone listening
Once he finds out, he gets mad. Really mad. He’s mad that someone would hurt his s/o, his darling. No one besides him is allowed to put a finger on you. And while this anger comes from a material place, his feelings are legitimate. Yes, he’s mad that someone would hurt someone that belongs to him, but he’s also upset that YOU’RE upset
You can expect him to pamper you a lot more for the next few days. He’ll buy you anything you want. Even if you don’t want it, he’ll buy it. And while it is rather amusing to see Byakuya walking around with his s/o with their hair made, wearing a fancy suit/dress and nails done,  everyone knows that something has to have happened
He’ll make sure to find the plebeian that hurt you, and once he finds them, he’s going to make a very serious threat to them. A threat that most likely scares them off. And if it doesn’t, he’ll make sure to pay someone to deal with them
 Fuyuhiko Kuzuryu
Oh he is pissed. He starts yelling and making a scene as soon as he finds you, he does not care who’s there or what they think
He starts asking questions immediately. “What happened?! Why are you crying?! Did someone hurt you? I’ll fucking kill them!”
You will have to be the one to calm him down before he can calm you down. But once he has calmed down he will try to comfort you. Key word being try
Just like Byakuya, he’ll take you to his cabin before properly comforting you. But you can expect him to send death glares to anyone you cross paths with as you walk to said cabin. Because of your kind nature, he’s very protective over you. He worries for you, and this incident only makes his worries stronger
Once you two are in private he’ll try his best to make you feel better. His demeanour will switch from aggressive and on edge to tender and calm. If you need reassurance, he’ll be there to reassure you
If you tell him who hurt you, he will try to remain calm, but it’s obvious that he’s enraged. But right now he has to focus on you, not him. He and Peko will deal with them later. Whether that is by threatening them, hurting them, or finishing them is entirely based on what they did or said to you

How would Kaede react to Shuichi surviving his execution, which Monokuma did internally to prolong his death and she can’t get his agonizing expressions and wails out of her head?
This was such an interesting scenario to think about, I hope I did your idea justice, Anon!!
Pairing: Kaede Akamatsu x Shuichi Saihara
Rating: PG-13 - Cursing and mentions of death
Word Count: 1,247
Spoilers: Not really? This is an AU for the first chapter of DRV3
Kaede couldn’t believe it. The one person she felt like she could trust in this insane situation had been the one to betray them all. Letting out a small cry, she buried her face in her hands in an attempt to shake the bad thought away. No. Shuichi hadn’t betrayed them. Hell, he had tried to save them all! Save them all by killing the mastermind! She only wished he had felt comfortable enough to discuss it with her first. She could’ve talked him out of it, or figured out a better way to go about it...something!! Anything would’ve been better than ending the trial staring at the detective’s lifeless body. Her eyes filled up with tears again at the memory, his terrified screams and expression seemed burned permanently in the back of her mind.
“Why….why did it have to be him?” She muttered into her hands, not speaking directly to anyone. She felt so broken, so defeated, so utterly hopeless. She wasn’t able to encourage everyone enough to keep trying to get out the escape tunnel, and now this? There had to be a way out, she was sure of it!! If only she hadn’t allowed everyone to give up, Rantaro and Shuichi would still be alive and they wouldn’t be in this awful mess anymore!! If only she had noticed how strangely Shuichi had been acting leading up to the end of the time limit. It was all her fault...it was all her fault...it was all her fault…
Kaede wasn’t sure when she drifted off to sleep, her thoughts had kept her up for most of the night. Even when she did sleep, the only images flashing through her mind were the lifeless bodies of what were once her friends so she didn’t even want to sleep. She’d been woken abruptly, hearing a static sound penetrate her sleeping state. She sat up with a start, letting out a confused groan while trying to adjust her eyes to the brightness of the screen in her otherwise dark room.
“Gooooooood morning everyone! After all the excitement from last night, I just couldn’t wait wait wait to show all of you the next surprise I have in store! Please everyone gather in the gym immediately! You’re gonna wanna see thiiiiiis~” Kaede wanted nothing more than to ignore the bear on the screen and crawl back under her covers for the rest of her life. However, she now knew what he was capable of and didn’t want another one of her friends to be punished because she didn’t comply. Rubbing the sleep out of her eyes, she willed herself to get out of bed and stagger towards the gym.
By the time Kaede arrived at the gym, it seemed as though she had been the last one to arrive. Everyone else was simply standing around, the same confused and exhausted looks in their eyes. Conversation wasn’t necessary, besides, what would they even say? Luckily, the silence didn’t linger for too long as six figures popped up at the front of the room. “Rise and shine ursine!” The catchphrase Kaede had somewhat gotten used to rang throughout the gym.
“We have a big announcement!” Monotaro excitedly started things off before Monosuke immediately shoved him.
“Hey, Pops is supposed to announce it, not us! Remember! He said we just need to stand around and look cute!” He scolded Monotaro before the red bear shoved him back.
“Actually, I don’t remember, so there!” The two glared at each other while Monophanie looked on in horror.
“Please stop fighting!” She cried as many of the students looked on in even more confusion.
“Hey shut up! Monokuma, what the hell’s this about?!” Kaito was the first to speak up, addressing Monokuma directly. Monokuma stopped cooing over the cubs to turn his attention to the students for the first time.
“Oh right um, this is kinda awkward buuuut… it looks like the blackened you all chose for the last trial was….incorrect!” It took a moment to process. Kaede’s head was spinning. Incorrect? But based on all of the evidence...she thought...she determined that he had been the only logical choice to be the killer...and he wasn’t? She sent him to his death and he was innocent? Her hands couldn’t stop shaking and her eyes had begun filling with tears. Clearly, the others were just as confused, some of them in silent bewilderment like her while others had taken to anger, shouting expletives towards the bears. But...if they had gotten it wrong...shouldn’t they all have been executed? Almost as if he was reading her mind, Monokuma spoke up yet again. “I know what you’re all thinking and- no. Since this is a very rare occurrence where I made a mistake, in the issue of fairness you all will not be executed! I know, I know. I am your most generous headmaster. Besides, we can’t have the fun end right at the first trial!”
“Can we tell them the second surprise!? Please, daddy!! Please!?!” Monophonie seemed to barely be able to contain her excitement, which made Kaede all the more afraid. What could she possibly be so excited about? Clearly nothing good for Kaede and the rest of the students she guessed.
“Awww...if my cute little cub is so excited, how could I possibly say no?” He cooed and moved to the side to allow the cubs to take center stage.
“Alright everyone! In addition to everyone’s non-immediate death, we have one more surprise! Since the blackened wasn’t actually the blackened, daddy managed to fix everything! You can come in now!!” Monophanie shouted out the last sentence louder, almost as if she was calling out to someone. Kaede’s blood froze as she heard the door to the gym open and footsteps ringing against her ears. She could hear the other students turning and reacting, but she couldn’t bring herself to turn around. Her heart pounded in her chest as she squeezed her eyes tight shut. No, no...she just lost him...she just mourned him...there was no way Monokuma could bring him back after the brutal execution they had witnessed.
“The true blackened is still out there and, to make the deal even sweeter, I have an offer. Clearly, the First Blood Perk wasn’t enough to motivate you all. If the true blackened of the first case is the next murder victim, I’ll let you all go, no strings attached!” Kaede could hear the malice dripping from his voice, daring them all to make a wild guess as to who was the true blackened of the previous case, and put enough confidence into that guess by murdering them. But...if they’re right then they can all be free… Was anyone willing to take that gamble?
“Kaede…” A voice that was oh-so-familiar, one that Kaede stubbornly refused to believe was actually back was now right in front of her.
“No...you’re dead.” She whimpered weakly, still refusing to open her eyes, lest this end up being some kind of sick nightmare. She felt a hand gently grasp her own, reminding her of the way she had tried to encourage him before the time limit ran out.
“Kaede. Please look at me.” The voice begged again, a desperation that mirrored her own evident in the tone. Finally, she took in a deep breath, raised her head, and looked into the golden eyes that she had missed so much.

CAN YOU GIVE FLUFFY HEADCANONS FOR AMACHA ON DATES??
YOU BET YOUR FINE BOOTY I CAN ANON
(⊙ω⊙✿) Me likes the way you think!!
Fluffy Headcanon Set of Amacha on Dates
You might wanna be sitting for this...there's a lot...
They study hard for an hour and a half before a well-deserved break, in which Rantaro starts cooking up a storm. Tenko insists on helping since he refused to take her money. "Tenko's sure you just want her to pay a high price! Tch, typical--"
Their first date is accidental. She came over to study/work on a school project/get tutored. Considering one of his father's Japan-based houses is close to a train station, the two decide to go there; it was quieter than the dorms.
It's a quaint traditional home for 1, on the larger side in comparison to typical Japanese apartments. Being a quiet, hideyhole for FatherAmami, it was vacant of maids/butlers. Of course, Rantaro cooks dinner for them.
'So that's why Rantaro took so long "getting study snacks" at the supermarket' Tenko realised. This unexpected thoughtful side of his making her soften inside.
"No need, Chabashira-san. Your thanks will be enjoying the meal I slaved away making just for you~." He teases. Despite attempting to refute and ensure he was aware she didn't mind chipping in some money, he refused with no end. Including the train fare and his precious tutoring time. He didn't want anything from her. Though that didn't stop her from asserting he was hiding ulterior motives, nor internally denying the fact she savoured every denial he made whenever she joked about him trying to get in her panties. She appreciated the constant dismissal, while silly, it reassured her; comforted her.
She starts chopping up veggies both spitefully and with pride. The food smells delicious, he can see it on her face despite her verbal denial. They get caught up in cooking and conversation, studying further never gracing their minds. They were too busy enjoying the other's company. He pleasantly surprised her, thus why she continued to launch questions at him.
She speedily sets the table before he can. A little too excited to eat his food.
Because the house is so old, the lights go out. The fuse box is a pain to figure out on an empty stomach, thus why Rantaro breaks out the fancy candles and they eat by candlelight. It's very romantic, Tenko starts to blush as it reminds her of romance manga. Now thankful for the light shortage since he couldn't grasp the extent of her embarrassment.
They talk for hours. By 9pm they're too tired to even attempt studying, and instead finish the night with a Disney movie and tea and biscuits on the pull-out sofa bed. "How luxurious!!"
Tenko's excitement never looked more beautiful/endearing.
Rantarou's dozes off first, his light snoring made her giggle. He was so dainty. She gently lays the blankets he previously prepared over his sleeping form.
Sitting a comfortable distance to finish the movie. A lullaby plays on screen and Tenko is easy prey. She ends up sinking into the bed beside him, the cool autumn air didn't help her sleep-cuddling tendencies, thus making her spoon him for warmth. His sleeping form happily complies and fits in the mould she made.
Both being early risers, Rantarou's embarrassed to be in the situation, but smiles anyway, patting her hair, she instantly stirs, he pretends to be asleep.
When Tenko rubs the sleep from her eyes, she stares at him, their positions exposing she was, in fact, the instigator of such affection. She slowly slides out, utterly embarrassed and completely confused. She gets to work in the kitchen, {even wearing his apron} to surprise him with breakfast in bed. "As thanks" for dinner the night before... He is happily surprised, both at her way of showing gratitude and the feelings making his chest tight at the image of her wearing such domestic accents.
^ Those dinner/study/movie endeavours continue for almost 3 months before he has the guts to invite her to Disneyland, confident she'd love it. She asserts the idea and is all-in after Rantarou confesses the last time he went was with his sisters...he sounded so gloomy whilst reminiscing and she insists they go to restore the happiness it's supposed to invoke!! It'd be a crime otherwise.
He goes all out. He buys them front of the line, year-long passes. They're worth it. This one's the official first date. At least in his head, he tells her it isn't but he wants it to be, and it definitely looks like one.
Tenko is no longer scared or feels threatened around him, not in the slightest. Strangely though, anger stirs inside her chest and makes her lips thin whenever girls fawn/compliment him so boldly.
He waits patiently for Tenko when she's using the bathroom. On her way out, her appreciation is emphasised by a wide grin as he watched her with excited eyes. A stranger crosses their path. Tenko increases her speed, "He better not ditch Tenko for this beautiful and pure ginger fox-- oh how embarrassing that would be!! Not to mention low!"
A girl from school attempts to confess to him, in the happiest, most magical place of all. She's a year younger than them. So pure, kind and sweet. He doesn't have the heart to outright reject her, thus stumbling over his words awkwardly, Tenko can sense he's trying to be gentle.
Tenko smoothly approaches and wraps an arm around his, making him freeze his faltering, "Kasumi-chan. Tenko heard your beautiful speech. You're so brave and sweet and beautiful. Any boy would be lucky to have you, but unfortunately... Rantarou-kun is spoken for." She wants to break it to her as gently as possible, and pretends their dating, as a softer blow. After giving Kasumi the necessary confidence/reassurance, Tenko watches the girl trot back to her friends. A content smile marking her face.
She follows, willingly, paying no mind to the contact whatsoever, excluding the butterflies in her stomach.
With his free hand he pats her head, "Very smooth, Chabashira-san, I'm impressed. I would never have thought you'd-"
"Oh, shoosh avocado!" Avoiding eye contact and hiding her blush. Since their arms were still tangled, Rantaro interlocked their fingers and drags her along, "C'mon, Tiga~"
He showers her in mostly food but of course gifts her something cute she had her eye on.
They have a blast. Afterward, Tenko found herself often speculating when they could go again. Due to his big spending habits she tends to repay her gratitude in free Neo-Aikido training and the rare times she'd make sweets for Himiko, she'd give him a decent portion.
Because Rantaro is so loving and crushing hard but doesn't know how to love her, he often shouts her lunch or packs an extra bento for her. This surprises Tenko.
He's so thoughtful and wonderful she has her suspicions. But still blushes whenever he brings her lunch in public with her friends around.
To combat this, she insists on helping him with his studies and is a great confidence booster whenever she can sense her sparring partner is doubting/self-loathing. Due to their regular training, continuous study sessions, bonding over food and movie nights. They become really good friends.
One day, Tenko can't shake the rejection from Himiko, especially when Himiko happily hugs and is very clingy with Angie and the others. The stinging morphs into a deep cut. Rantaro finds Tenko pushing herself. He's at first impressed. Then majorly concerned after realising she'd been at it for 4 hours straight.
He confronts her, she breaks down in tears. It breaks his heart to see such a loving, devoted girl be treated like this. He knows Tenko would sacrifice everything to see Himiko smile, so instead of taking it up with Himiko...
"You know...we've been making great progress with our school work. This weekend, why don't we go to a theme park, as a reward?"
This marks the third/forth official date since they'd revisited disneyland a few times prior. He takes her on all the rollercoasters, they bond over the adrenaline rush, it's a good distraction. She's like no one he's ever met before, and only falls harder.
Plus, the slow love-story these two would have to build that loyalty, blind-trust and love that's indestructible is a big reason why I love amacha~! Hope it was ok! If not just lemme know and I'll do more future-date things, like further in their relationship haha!
Sorry got a lil' off-topic...BUT it's VERY vital Tenko gets over her dependence on Himiko before anything can really flourish between these two, BUT I love the idea of Rantaro happily pining after Tenko and making sure she's ok, cuz no one else would.

What is your biggest source of inspiration for Saerno and Luo?
Heyo Skaar, thanks for the random ask! But to answer your question, it's hard to pinpoint exactly one BIGGEST source of inspiration for the both of them, so forgive me if I just ramble and link random photos...
Tumblr media
Ah Sae, my first FF OC, and the resident asshole of my lineup. Well, asshole is a strong word, so let's just attach 'well-intentioned' to it to soften the jab. Snarky, stubborn, and a bit too smart for his own good, he's definitely hard to get along with at first. However, beneath all the fronts and silvered words, lays the same child from years past, his arms wrapped tightly around his being, giving no inclination of letting go any time soon. It's then that you see what this is all from - fear.
At his core, Saerno's character is based around the concept of past traumas and overarching fears, and the struggles one goes through in accepting such things so as to move on with their lives. But even then, no one is perfect. There is no steady incline for Sae, he trips, he falls, he regresses into past behaviors and blocks people out because, well, that's what he's used to. It's hard to fully heal from one's wounds, and that's what I want to illustrate in his character. He has a reasoning for the way he is, but that is by no means an excuse. In learning to move on, he'll have to recognize and rectify the faults of his actions, both of the present and past.
Yet, at the same time, your wounds make you who you are. You can accept the past for what it is and move forward, but you're forever changed by it. He may have entered this world with an altruistic heart, and it may still yet linger, but his experiences have warped his perspective beyond repair.
Though, with character rambling out of the way, to touch upon less emotional inspiration for Sae, I do actually have a small compilation of characters that I find to be good wells to draw upon.
Tumblr media
[From Left to Right, Top to Bottom:]
Lavi (D. Gray Man) Louis (Beastars) Ritsuka Uenoyama (Given) Rantaro Amami (Danganronpa V3) Ginko (Mushishi) Shuuhei Hisagi (Bleach)
Describing WHY each one fits would take an entire essay tbh, so if you know these characters, feel free to draw your own conclusions ;)
As for visual inspiration, searching Sae's inspo tag (#Dyeing Melodies) will give a good image of what it is that I assign to his aesthetical presence. Though, if I were to assign a few keywords, I'd say: Dark Academia, Raw and Sophistication.
Tumblr media
Now onto the boyest boy that ever boyed, Luo Qiang! Much like Saerno, Luo Qiang is inspired first and foremost by a collection of driving themes as opposed to just one character in particular. While most of what you all have seen of him has been sunshine and rainbows, that is not exactly the full extent of what inspires his characterization. The main theme that I wanted to explore with Luo Qiang was one of lost innocence, a starry-eyed boy who aspires to so much, but is faced with the cruel realities of the world. He wishes for nothing more than to make his deceased family proud, to become a man worthy of the Luo name, but without their guidance or approval, he finds himself stumbling, his optimism and determination constantly being tested not only by the situations and people he finds himself involved in/with, but by the mounting of his own self-doubts as a consequence of said experiences.
The stars in his eyes may fade with time, his will shall never follow the same path. With lessons learned, and realities faced, Luo Qiang will instead channel his optimism and dogged determination into the goals before him; however this time, he is not going to be so pure about it. Now, any who have read his carrd will probably know that these goals are entirely based upon lies and hidden truths, which I knowingly set up! Having the basis of his constant inspiration be revealed as an utter falsehood will break him down, serving as his ultimate lesson. And how will he be built up after that? Well, it's entirely dependent upon the support he receives. Needless to say, I'm excited to see this play out in RP.
Once again, with the main story beat that drives my inspiration described, I'll move onto more tangible inspirations. Though, as opposed to Sae, and with him being a newer OC, I find it a tad harder to assign multiple characters as being sources of inspiration. The closest I've found, however, has got to be Tanjiro from Kimetsu no Yaiba. Actually, that anime as a whole I regard as a major visual inspiration for Luo Qiang and his fighting style.
Tumblr media
Obviously he's no master of the blade now, but in the future I could definitely see some anime bullshit happening in regards to his swordsmanship. Though in that same vein, Yuzuriha from Under Night in Birth is also a source of inspiration for Luo Qiang, but this time more focused upon her visual presentations and combat style.
Tumblr media
Like Saerno, you can find more visual aesthetic representations of Luo Qiang through his inspo tag (#Ephemeral Blooms). Keywords I'd associate with him would be: Blossom, Ancestry and Wanderer.
And as a capstone, it may be readily obvious, but much of Luo Qiang's character and aesthetics are definitely inspired by my own desire to better explore my own heritage. I know that the few examples I listed above are Japanese in origin (I'm allowed to do a bit of cultural fusion if Squeenix can), but much of what I strive to do for him is to try and bring Chinese culture into some form of spotlight. It makes sense that a majority of players wish to represent japanese aesthetics through their characters and companies seeing as FFXIV is produced there (and given how japanese media in general is exceedingly popular), but I feel Chinese culture deserves some love too, and I'll shove it out there through Luo Qiang and all my little Yanxian headcanons!

Um how do you run a Ship Week? I don't know how Instagram works
i don’t run ship weeks on instagram! mainly because i’m bad at editing and instagram is an image based social media, so i’d have to make an actual graphic in order to post anything there, haha.
however! if you want some advice for doing so on tumblr, here’s my recommendations!!!
- look up the name of the ship that you’re wanting to run a week for. if a week for it already exists, and happened already this year/the year before this one/is scheduled for a time that hasn’t happened yet this year, i would really recommend either finding a different ship, or getting in contact with the people who ran the week the year before! for kaemaki week for example, i got in touch with the admins from 2019 and asked for permission to host the week in 2020 before i did anything. PLEASE make sure you do this! it’s important not to try and trample anybody and we’re all a community here!!!
- it’s not always possible, but try to choose a week that is several months away from the date that you’re working on all of this. it’s important to give people time to plan in advance. i would also recommend choosing a set of dates that don’t intersect with any birthdays/other important dates in the dr canon UNLESS it’s the birthday of one of the members of your ship. (so, just as an example, amamatsu week 2020 ran up to rantaro’s birthday last year, and himikiyo week 2020 ran up to himiko’s birthday. that’s fine. but i tried to schedule amasai/amamota/kaemaki week so that they could avoid any birthdays in march/november/july.)
- ALSO try not to conflict any weeks that are happening at the same time, especially if they contain the same members from your ship. unfortunately i’m not always perfect in that respect, because i think naekirigami week was happening around this time, and naeleon week happened the exact same week as amamota week last year, but luckily these are largely different audiences and fans so it’s not too much of an issue. make sure to check in with the fandom event calendar and see if there are any weeks going on when you’re trying to plan your event for. again, it’s not always possible; amamatsu week ran until october 3rd last year and amatoujou week STARTED on october third last year, and it’s just, hard to avoid any conflicts in general because there are so many ships and only so many weeks, but if you can, it’s best to be courteous. this is why it’s ESPECIALLY important to follow the last step i gave, because if you plan something months in advance, you can’t really be blamed if there are conflicts. do your due diligence!
- coming up with prompts is tricky, especially when trying to avoid repeats. i like to choose themes to do with nature, and things related to the couple in question. for amasai for example i associate shuichi with books, so maybe reading/library related prompts. i associate rantaro with traveling, the ocean, and jewelry, so a prompt like “necklace” or “sailboat” might be appropriate. do you see where i’m going with this? you just think about the characters and choose the words that come to mind. if you’re in a mood you can also pick things that you think would be fun! talentswap and canon divergence prompts are always really enjoyable, alternative universe, personality swap, pregame, postgame, that sort of thing. danganronpa themed. you can do whatever you want with prompts. i find it to be helpful to reach out to friends and ask them to look over prompts for me, or to help me brainstorm them. that’s what i did for amamota week, and of course half of the amasai week prompts were thought up by storyflight as well :)
- tagging is IMPORTANT. come up with a tag for the week, tag the characters, tag the ship, tag the ship in any way you’ve seen it written and even in ways you haven’t seen it. make sure you’re following the tag you came up with for the week, too, and make sure to specify in the promo post that you want people to tag your blog so you can reblog entries.
- this is not mandatory, but i find it to be a good practice to participate in the week you’re hosting as well! admittedly i’m behind (though i WILL be finishing amasai week, god damn it) but it’s just fun to be able to participate in the things you host. makes you seem more approachable in my opinion. you should also reblog and READ all the content that people put out for your week. art, fanfic, et cetera. make sure you’re boosting everything as much as you can. be approachable, be open to feedback, answer questions, leave your inbox open, whatever. make sure that you’re answering questions quickly as possible, and make sure to stay on top of boosting people’s entries. that way people are more inclined to participate, and they have an easier time. :)
- PROMOTE. leading up to the week itself i’ll do weekly reblogs on the account itself, and then i’ll do countdown posts over the two weeks before the week. it’s important to get people thinking about the event! tag all your promo posts, make sure people see it! get the word out there!!! nothing sucks more than loving a ship and finding out there was an event going for it that you didn’t know about. be involved, get the word out, don’t be afraid to be a little bit annoying with your promo posts. don’t SPAM or anything, but be in people’s faces. don’t be afraid, you got this.
- rules and guidelines aren’t mandatory but generally i think it’s a good practice to come up with some, so that people know what they’re allowed to do. this one is sort of up to you and what you want to fly in your event, but please be mindful of the tumblr/ao3/twitter/instagram guidelines for wherever you’re hosting your event. also make sure not to be too prohibitive. and if you’re allowing edits, which i think you should, please emphasise that people should credit the art that they use!!! integrity is important for challenges like this.
that’s all i’ve got off the top of my head, but if you need more advice, anon, feel free to send me a message on my main acct, i’m @toxicisnotapineapple and i’d be happy to help you out some more directly. let me know!!! good luck with all your ship week hosting endeavours.

Oumota Day Fic Pt 1
“If you do not finish the extra credit assignment, you will fail this class.” The aged professor concluded his soliloquy-like lecture with the finality of a nuclear bomb.
Several students sat before the man, each wearing an expression of dismay. History wasn't a boring subject, but there was a problem with having a text-heavy course at the end of the day at the end of the week. Each had commitments that left them drained.
“You are dismissed.” The professor waved a hand and turned away, letting his disappointment torment each student as they left the room. Kaito held the door open for Kaede and Miu, letting the door fall back to Rantaro's hand as Kokichi pushed past and into the otherwise empty hallway.
“Goodnight, professor.” Rantaro spoke, receiving no answer as the door shut behind him. The five walked down the hall that led haphazardly toward the dorms. The conversation was that of silence for a good portion of the walk.
“Agh! I hate that old fuck!” Miu gripped her hair in her hands and moaned out complaints.
“Come on, guys!” Kaito interrupted, stepping in front of the group. “That's no way to face a challenge. We need to face the enemy head on. We'll complete the assignment together, and it will be the best exploration of modern history he's ever seen! We've got the perfect group for it. Look at us.” Kaito gestured widely.
“Kaito is right! All we have to do is talk about recent history, right? This could be a lot of fun. Think of Mozart's Piano Sonata number seventeen in B-flat major.” She hummed a bit of an upbeat tune, hands bobbing up and down as if reaching for the keys of an invisible piano. “It just washes away your sleepiness and makes you feel like running through grassy fields.”
“That's the spirit!” Kaito pumped an arm in the air, grinning broadly.
“There are plenty of places to explore.” Rantaro said, touching his hand to his chin as he thought.
“Oh yes! Ah! Exploring something so thoroughly and tenderly. Leaving it totally exposed...” Miu trailed off, a weird look on her face.
“Uhh, yeah. Right.” Kaito scratched the back of his head, discomfort clear on his face.
“So where should we explore? Maybe the local concert hall. I bet there's a really great story about how it was created! I wonder what the first song they played there was.”
“As expected of the Ultimate Pianist. You're finding music everywhere.” Rantaro spoke with a smile, eyes glistening with a certain fondness, almost like a proud older brother. Kaede giggled, not disagreeing for a second.
“Then it's decided! We're going to explore the concert hall-”
“Nope.” Kokichi interrupted. His voice cut through the chatter with ease.
“What?” Kaede was the first to speak. “Why not?”
“Cause we're exploring the shadow men.” Kokichi answered, lips twisting into a wide grin. Lately, there had been a lot of talk of shadowy figures that would come out in the twilight hours. Some had seen faces peering through the windows of people who had not shut their blinds. Though the shadowy figures never did anything, they were still deeply unsettled by the unmoving faces that would simply watch, staring. A few who had seen these figures reported shallow scratches outside their rooms.
“WH-what?” Kaito stopped dead in his tracks, face almost immediately pallid.
“Don't you want to know who they are? You're always talking about 'exploring the unknown' and 'a man's passion'. So...” Kokichi leaned forward and lowered his voice. “Isn't this what a 'real man' would do?” His wicked grin left the group fascinated.
“Hmm.” Rantaro had stopped, a smile tugging at his lips.
“Creeps looking at helpless women as they sleep? How absolutely vulgar.” Miu stared off into the distance, fantasies obviously dancing in her head.
“We'd basically be chasing down ghosts. Is that even possible?” Kaede asked.
“Of course it is! After all, I know where they come from.” Kokich said.
“Really?”
“Yup!”
“That's a lie, isn't it, Kokichi?” Rantaro asked, a smile still on his face.
“You got me. Man! You know me inside out, don't you?” Kokichi rocked back on his feet.
“This does sound exciting. But does it really count as modern history?” Kaede asked.
“You don't think so?” Kokichi asked. “Everyone talks about... what's it called? Mythos or something.” Kokichi waved a hand dismissively. “There's reports of these shadow men all over. And everyone says that they retreat into the woods, disappearing back in to the shadows that created them.” He spoke in a sing-song voice.
“The concert hall is a more solid subject.” Kaito objected.
“It's too easy! Didn't you just say you wanted to make the greatest modern history report professor stiff-ass has ever seen? You really think talking about a lame building is gonna blow him away? No offense, Kaede, but your idea is super boring.”
“Hey! It is not boring!” Kaede argued.
“You're being so biased, Kaede... Isn't that kind of a mean thing to do? Making everyone study some architecture and look through piles of moldy sheet music? I think you're the only one who would like that. Try to be more considerate!” Kokichi crossed his arms over his chest to express his melodramatic accusation.
“I.. You're right...” Kaede, visibly deflated, fell into silence.”
“If we're gonna do a group project, it's gotta be all out. Otherwise what's the point? We're Ultimates. We have a reputation to uphold.” Kokichi had fully taken control of the conversation at this point.
“So you think we should investigate the reports of the shadow men. Interesting. It would probably make sense to interview the people who saw them and try to determine exactly what they are.” Rantaro's eyes betrayed his excitement. “Then we'd have to go to the forest and find if they have a base. That could be dangerous.” He glanced to Miu and Kaede. “I don't know if it would be safe.”
“I don't like what you're implying here, mister sister complex.” Miu said. “Ohhh no! The girls can't be faced with anything dangerous! The precious flowers have to remain intact and untouched and pure... That's such a typical man thing to say.”
“You're sounding like Tenko.” Kaede said, stifling a laugh. “But I agree with her. If we're going to investigate these shadow men, then we're going to do it together!”
Kaito stood among his friends, heart heavy in his stomach. There was no way he could admit that this shadow men hunt sounded exactly like a nightmare. A man would never shut down his friends like that. Look how excited they are. He felt a shiver run through his body and, for a moment, thought he might be sick. His mind filled with images of ghosts and ghouls and other horrific things. When someone grabbed his arm, he jumped hard enough to be far past the point of denying it. Luckily, only one person had noticed, the one that clung to his arm with an impish and disconcertingly innocent grin on his face.
“What's wrong, Kaito? You're not scared, are you?” Kokichi asked, his voice not loud enough to catch the attention of the other three as they sorted out assignments and set up tentative schedules.
“Yeah right.” Kaito scoffed and shook his arm to dislodge the purple-haired male. Kokichi didn't lose his balance for a moment.
“You're totally pale.” Kokichi reached up to touch Kaito's face, but Kaito swatted the hand away. This earned a laugh. “I've always wondered how you'd look when face-to-face with a real life monster.”
“Shut up.” Kaito spoke dismissively, but he could not shake his fear. And with Kokichi's eyes locked on his own, he knew that Kokichi knew this too.
“This is going to be fun.” Kokichi finally broke eye contact. His statement played over and over again in Kaito's head. Fun was sure as hell not the word that he'd use.

The Operative.
Tumblr media
*pant!* *pant!* My apologies for our lateness! It is unbecoming of me!
Tumblr media
We just got caught up with something. We’re ready now though.
Tumblr media
It’s ok. Just hurry and sit down already.
*All of the Future Foundation Branch Chief operatives are gathered, with Komaru and Sonia appearing virtually through Miaya and a laptop respectively.
Tumblr media
Well, we’re all here Chairwoman. What’s the reason for this meeting?
Tumblr media
Yeah, it kinda just came out of nowhere. Did something happen?
Tumblr media
You mentioned to me earlier it was information relating to the Zetsubou front, right?
Tumblr media
That’s right.
*Kyoko gets to her feet and activates a large screen on the wall behind her. The projection immediately shows a familiar face.
Tumblr media
Greetings. It’s certainly been a while. Am I coming in clear to everyone?
Tumblr media
Detective Samidare! It’s definitely been a while.
Tumblr media
How have you been since we last spoke?
Tumblr media
Fairly well. I’ve been continuing on that favor for a while now.
Tumblr media
For those who are still unaware, in terms of finding out more information in our common enemy of Organization Zetsubou, we have gained an ally in the form of the Detective Library organization that Yui remains a part of. Any and all info in regards to the Zetsubou threat are relayed back to us when the library finds any info.
Tumblr media
And you’re saying the library HAS that info now?
Tumblr media
Yes.
*On the screen, Yui’s facecam is moved to a separate side of the screen. The main foreground of the projection instead shows an image of a laboratory looking area.
Tumblr media
What’s that?
Tumblr media
That looks...familiar...
Tumblr media
Well, it would do. After all, this is one of Organization Zetsubou’s labs.
Tumblr media
The same sort of lab that previously contained some of Shuichi’s friends before they either escaped, or were let go.
Tumblr media
So we’ve found another one?
Tumblr media
Correct, however, we only did so thanks to an intelligence report the library found in police files.
Tumblr media
The message was given to the local law enforcement, and then relayed to us, and then relayed to you guys.
Tumblr media
An eyewitness report stated that they had spotted Monokuma’s and drones in the institute, and reported as such to the police. They were going to raid it, but our group stopped them, just in case.
Tumblr media
Good idea. After all, we wouldn’t want to endanger the lives of those officers.
Tumblr media
Exactly. Now as for the location of this lab, it is actually in Towa City.
Tumblr media
It’s in Towa? Looks like a job for us then...
Tumblr media
Quite. However, before I charge everyone with actions in regards to the conflict itself, I have gathered us to see if we can reach a conclusion as to Zetsubou’s goals for this lab.
Tumblr media
If we check it out, do you think we may find more of the victims of the 53rd killing game?
Tumblr media
Shuichi stated that there were only three remaining students from his killing game that were unaccounted for. Those were Rantaro Amami, Korekiyo Shinguji and Gonta Gokuhara.
Tumblr media
The eyewitness report we received didn’t describe anyone accurate to the physical information Shuichi provided for us on what his friends look like. It’s safe to assume that, as things currently stand, they are not in this base, at least, not anymore.
Tumblr media
Then what ARE they doing?
Tumblr media
May I make a suggestion on the matter?
Tumblr media
Bear in mind, this is not the first time that the Organization has operated in Towa City. The last time it happened there were...unfortunate results.
Tumblr media
Would it be out of the question to assume that they are making another attempt to take over the city?
Tumblr media
You make a good point, however, Haiji Towa did not intend to take over the city. He only wanted to destroy the children who had caused the crisis over 8 years ago.
Tumblr media
And besides, technically he already was in control of the city. After Monaca left, Towa City was his personal little playground. It was super easy for him to smuggle his explosive materials into it and off record.
Tumblr media
Hina’s right. If this base is being run by a single operative, and for now, let’s assume it is, then the real question lies in what is the operatives reason for being present in the city?
Tumblr media
If they’re trying to create another explosion, and I don’t see why they would, now that the kids are free as birds, then it’ll be a lot harder to scratch records like how Haiji Towa did when he was scheming.
Tumblr media
It’s hard to come to a reasonable conclusion just yet...But one thing’s for certain is that whatever it is that’s been planned, it can’t be good.
Tumblr media
In fact, how do we even know if there’s only one Zetsubou Member running the show? There could be more than one, right?
Tumblr media
It would be a lot harder to remain incognito in that case...
Tumblr media
Well...if we’re going to make guesses on who’s running the show, wouldn’t it be better to go over what we already know about the Organization’s members and try and draw motives from there?
Tumblr media
Not a bad idea Seiko. What have we got?
Tumblr media
I’d also like to learn what you have on the Zetsubou Members so far. I’m not fully in tune with any of them.
Tumblr media
Well, it might be better to give you and the library that information then, just to make things easier on us in the future.
*Byakuya gets to his feet and produces a file from under his desk, reading it aloud to everyone in the room.
Tumblr media
Firstly, we can immediately rule out two operatives being Haiji Towa, and Mikado Sannoji. Prior to this bases construction, these two were already dead.
Tumblr media
Haiji Towa was murdered by Kuripa Kurafto of Branch 14, and Mikado Sannoji’s AI was destroyed by the Alter Ego, Sora.
Tumblr media
...
Tumblr media
...
Tumblr media
Makoto? Yoruko? You guys ok?
Tumblr media
Huh? O-Oh, yeah, I’m fine.
Tumblr media
Same here. So who’s our suspect pool?
Tumblr media
Well, first and foremost is the organizations leader: one Tsumugi Shirogane.
Tumblr media
She was the Mastermind of the 53rd killing game that Saihara, Harukawa, and the rest were all part as a broadcasted TV show in their own universe. Most of the participants are around teenage years, but Shirogane’s age is currently unspecified.
Tumblr media
Most of us have yet to meet her personally, but based on the way she was described, she has the potential to be just as dangerous as someone like Junko Enoshima. However, emphasis on “potential.” Meaning we still have a chance to stop her before she reaches peak Despair.
Tumblr media
She’s manipulative and blends in easily with crowds too. Kuripa Kurafto was held hostage by her at the Comiket event we visited a few weeks ago. That was the last time any of us saw her physically.
Tumblr media
Next is the Organization’s strategist, and mental prowess, Yukari Koime, currently seated as Tsumugi’s right-hand woman. She’s a retired love psychiatrist, and that gives her more insight into how to break a persons mind.
Tumblr media
Koime’s past is currently filled with gaps. We know she orchestrated murders, but we don’t know what exactly it was that turned her to the side of Despair. Until we do, she remains an enigma.
Tumblr media
Misako Rokuhana of Hope’s Peak Academy knew her when they were younger. She told me everything she knew about her, but unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to draw a conclusion to her past...
Tumblr media
It would make sense if Koime was overseeing this operation...After all, she oversaw the Neo World incident and hired Kibin Hatsudoki to assassinate us. Even still, we have other options.
Tumblr media
The next operative is...Mikihiko Koyasunaga.
Tumblr media
Ah, of course...The one that caused us a great deal of trouble in my fair kingdom a while ago.
Tumblr media
He bears mannerisms to both a man and a woman, but is officially registered as Non-Binary. However, he doesn’t seem to mind being referred to as a he or a she.
Tumblr media
Koyasunaga is also a manipulative mental prowess. He was able to Brainwash Angie Yonaga into attempting to take over the Novoselic Kingdom, and he almost got away with it.
Tumblr media
He feels the least likely to be involved. Towa is nowhere near as great as the whole of Novoselic after all. He doesn’t stand much to gain from being present there.
Tumblr media
There’s only two more operative we know about. The anonymous hacker who infiltrated the Kisaragi Foundation during Mikado Sannoji’s attack on their building, and the spy that Zetsubou smuggled into Future Foundation. Yet we do not know their name, or anything else about either of them.
Tumblr media
Which makes it hard to come to any suitable conclusion, right?
Tumblr media
...Hm...Maybe it’s just that...
Tumblr media
What’s up Makoto? You thinking something?
Tumblr media
Well, I mean, there’s another potential outcome here that we haven’t exactly reached.
Tumblr media
I find it unlikely that Shirogane or Koime would personally oversee this. If either of them get caught or captured, it’s a problem for them. Same goes for the spy.
Tumblr media
Koyasunaga, as Impostor brought up, also seems unlikely.
Tumblr media
So you think their hacker is behind it?
Tumblr media
Not exactly. Just think about it for a second.
Tumblr media
We know that Zetsubou has at least 5 members currently, but no one said that they’re the only 5 the group has. There could be more...
Tumblr media
So you think whoever’s in charge of this base is a member of Organization Zetsubou that we’ve never met before?
Tumblr media
Pretty much. That’s just a guess of course...
Tumblr media
Hm...that’d actually make sense.
Tumblr media
If the organization employed an operative that we know nothing about, and have never encountered, it’d be safer for them than employing any operatives that we already have a smattering of knowledge about. I think Makoto’s onto something.
Tumblr media
If he’s right, it means there’s nothing we can really do about it right now though.
Tumblr media
In which case, everyone remain on standby until further instructions.
Tumblr media
Komaru. You and Toko investigate the matter, given that this is happening on your home turf, it’s only right that you two deal with it personally.
Tumblr media
Of course, Mrs Naegi.

Title: From Rumor to Reality
Tropes Used: #4 (Mistaken for a couple) and #26 (Coffee Shop AU)
Summary: Every time Shuichi comes to the coffee shop near the college campus, he finds himself talking with the barista a lot. Little did he know that this constant interaction with the cute, purple-haired barista would start up some rumors...
💜💜💜💜
After his last class of the day, Shuichi made his usual walk to the coffee shop on the edge of campus. It was his favorite place to go and get some good coffee and study in relative peace (as much as he loved his roommate and best friend Kaito, he could not tolerate Kaito’s boisterous behavior during his studying period).
Not to mention being able to see and talk with the cute barista there everyday, Kokichi Ouma.
They immediately hit it off from the moment they met and they chatted constantly as Kokichi made his drink for him. Shuichi had been there so many times that Kokichi had his order down pat and would get started on it before Shuichi could say a single word. In a way, they had a connection that Shuichi liked.
He arrived at the coffee shop, looking up at the rustic sign that read DICE Coffee and Sweets. He smiled, an image of the chirpy barista crossing his mind as he opened the door and stepped inside.
Immediately, he spotted Kokichi.
“Ah! Saihara-chan!” Kokichi exclaimed.
“Hey, Ouma-kun.” Shuichi greeted.
Seeing as there was no line, he went right up to the counter.
“So, how’s your day been so far?” Kokichi asked as he grabbed for a cup and began to write Shuichi’s name on it.
“It’s going fine, I guess. I need a place to study for my midterms, so I came here.” Shuichi explained.
“I see, I see. Is your roommate too noisy?”
“Yeah. Like, he’s my best friend and at all, but he’s a bit distracting.”
“Man, I hate rooming with people like that. I have to go to the library just so I could take my online classes and do my assignments because he refuses to turn off his creepy, occult-like music.”
“Ouch. That sounds rough.”
“It sure is.”
Kokichi got to work on his drink.
“You want a cream cheese danish, right?” he asked.
“Yeah.” Shuichi replied.
“Okay.” Kokichi looked at his coworker, who had green hair, matching green eyes, and multiple piercings lining his ears and one on his left eyebrow. “Hey, Amami-chan, can you grab a cream cheese danish for me?” he asked.
“Yeah, sure.” Rantaro looked over at Shuichi. “I see your boyfriend has come back to see you, Ouma-kun.” he noted.
“B-Boyfriend?!” Shuichi stammered out.
Kokichi nearly dropped the cup of piping hot coffee from shock.
“Boyfriend?! Saihara-chan and I are not dating!” he exclaimed.
“Hm? You two aren’t dating?” Rantaro questioned.
Shuichi shook his head.
“No...what makes you think that?” he asked.
“Everyone has noticed how close you two are, so they began to start spreading rumors that you two were dating. But if you aren’t, then I guess I’ll have to tell them that the rumor is false.” Rantaro explained.
“There’s a rumor like that?!” Kokichi squawked.
“Yeah? It’s all everyone’s been talking about.” Rantaro said.
“What the heck...” Kokichi trailed off.
“Well, if it’s not true, then it must not be true. Sorry about that.” Rantaro said as he handed Shuichi a small plate with the danish on it.
“It’s fine.” Shuichi said as he took the plate from him.
At that moment, Kokichi also finished making Shuichi’s coffee.
“Here’s your coffee...” Kokichi trailed off.
“Ah...thanks...” Shuichi said as he reached to take the cup from him.
As he did, their fingers brushed against each other. Sparks flew, which made Shuichi pull his hand back after securely grabbing the cup. Kokichi must have felt it too, for he was holding his hand.
“Then...I’ll go and sit down. I have to start studying.” Shuichi said.
“Oh, yeah, you can go ahead and do that! I’ll bring you a refill soon.” Kokichi told him.
Shuichi smiled.
“Thanks.” he said as he headed over and sat down by the window.
As he set his coffee and danish down and began to take out his laptop and school materials, he couldn’t ignore the way his heart was racing and the blush that would spread across his cheeks each time he locked eyes with Kokichi.
💜💜💜💜
Two weeks passed since that awkward moment between them. During that time, Shuichi came to the conclusion that he had fallen for the barista at some point. He would wonder why he didn’t notice it before, but would tell himself that there was a reason behind everything and that there must’ve been a reason why he hadn’t realized it until now.
After completing his final midterm, Shuichi found himself back at DICE, craving the coffee that Kokichi would make for him.
Forget how awkward that day was, just act normal, he told himself.
He released a sigh before opening the door and walking in. He got in line behind a woman as he spotted Kokichi, who was busy spraying whipped cream on top of a cup of hot chocolate. His heart fluttered at the sight of him.
He looks as cute as he usually does, he thought to himself.
A blush crawled onto his cheeks as the woman went up and Rantaro proceeded to assist her.
“Next!” Kokichi called out.
Shuichi walked over, waving.
“Hey, Ouma-kun.” he greeted.
“Oh! Saihara-chan! I haven’t seen you in a while!” Kokichi exclaimed.
“Yeah...things have just been busy as of late and then there were midterms...” Shuichi trailed off.
“Ah, midterms. Yeah, that’s totally understandable.” Kokichi reached for a cup. “The usual, yes?” he asked.
“Yeah.” Shuichi replied.
“Okie dokie, then!” Kokichi chirped.
He wrote down Shuichi’s name along with something else before brewing his coffee and heading off to get his cream cheese danish. After receiving his danish and coffee, he went to sit down at his usual spot by the window.
As he took a sip, he noticed that there was more written on the cup this time around.
I wonder what Ouma-kun wrote, he wondered to himself.
He set the cup down and tilted it back a little, reading what it said.
Let’s go on a date, Saturday at 6:30pm.
0XX-XXX-XXXX <— This is my number
Shuichi’s eyes widened in surprise.
A date?! Oh my god, he just asked me out on a date, he thought to himself.
He looked over and spotted Kokichi, who immediately looked away with a blush on his cheeks.
He feels the same way I do...he likes me, too, he thought to himself.
This realization made Shuichi feel giddy.
I don’t think I’ve ever felt this happy before, he thought to himself.
Finishing off his danish, he picked up his backpack along with his cup and he walked over to Kokichi.
“Saihara-chan, what’s up—“ Before Kokichi could finish his sentence, Shuichi leaned over the counter and pecked him on the cheek.
Kokichi’s cheeks flushed red as Rantaro dropped his permanent marker. Kokichi’s hand flew up to where Shuichi kissed him, watching Shuichi in stunned surprise.
“S-Saihara-chan! Why did you...?” Kokichi trailed off.
“It’s a date.” Shuichi smiled. “I’ll text you soon.” he said as he turned and left the coffee shop with a bounce in his step.
He couldn’t wait for Saturday to come.
