During the trip to the Thar Desert, tourists may take camel rides along sandy hills as well as enjoy a traditional Rajasthani dinner under the stars.

7-Day Itinerary for Rajasthan - A Complete Travel Plan for Rajasthan
Rajasthan is the land of kings, queens, and princesses, and it's also home to some of the most beautiful palaces in the world. There are countless temples and forts to explore in this state, but there's one thing that will always stand out above all else: its food. Rajasthani cuisine is a delicious mix of traditional recipes from all over India, and it's impossible to leave Rajasthan without tasting some curry or chutney!
Rajasthan is full of amazing things to do—but if you're planning on visiting this part of India, don't expect a relaxing vacation. It's not easy to get around the state by public transport; there aren't many trains or buses running between cities so it's best to opt for a car rental in Udaipur if you're planning on traveling around Rajasthan by yourself.
Day 1: Jaipur
Rajasthan is a state that's all about the colors. The people, the food, the architecture—it's all vibrantly colored and incredibly beautiful. And nowhere is this truer than in Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan and its largest city.
Jaipur is a stunning city with an amazing history, and it's also a great place to start your trip. If you're looking for things to do in Jaipur, we recommend visiting Hawa Mahal (also known as "Palace of Winds"), Amber Fort, Jantar Mantar Observatory, and City Palace Museum. You can also explore some of India's best shopping at places like Pushkar Bazaar or Johari Bazaar.
Day 2 and 3: Jaisalmer
On day 2, you will be driving to Jaisalmer, which is about 300 km from Jaipur. This city is famous for its desert sand dunes and beautiful architecture. It is known as “Golden City” because of its yellow sandstone constructed buildings that are built by local merchants during their time of the trade with other countries. You can visit Sam Sand Dunes on this day which is located around 50 km away from golden city, where there will be camel rides available for tourists to enjoy the view of sunset in the desert area.
Day 4: Jodhpur
The next stop on your itinerary is Jodhpur which is about 282 km away from Jaisalmer city. Explore all places here like Jodhpur fort, Jaswant Thada, and Mandore Gardens.
Day 5: Jodhpur to Udaipur
After breakfast drive to Udaipur (260km). On arrival check into your hotel for an overnight stay at Udaipur.
Day 6 and 7: Udaipur
After visiting Jodhpur, move on to Udaipur which is also one of the most popular tourist destinations in Rajasthan due to its beautiful lakes, palaces, temples, and gardens. There are many things to do in Udaipur such as visiting Lake Pichola or Jag Mandir palace which are both located near each other by taxi in Udaipur. You can also go for a boat ride on Lake Pichola where you will find peace. You can easily get the best taxi services in Udaipur.

Popular attractions include India's largest camel fair in Jaisalmer, Tiger Safari in Ranthambore National Park, and Camel Racing Festival in Ajmer.
The state of Rajasthan is rich in history and culture, with old temples and abandoned villages scattered throughout the land. When visiting Rajasthan with Car Rental in Udaipur, it's tempting to try and fit in as much as you can every day. From a modern state that is moving towards its own definition of development to old palaces and abandoned villages, there are many facets of this state that reflect its people and how they live their lives.
Day 1 - Arrival in Jaipur
Arrive in Jaipur and transfer to your hotel. Overnight stay at Hotel.
Day 2 –  Day Tour of Jaipur
In the morning, visit Amer Fort which is located near the city center. This fort was built by Raja Man Singh for defense purposes against invaders from Persia and Central Asia in 1592 AD on top of a hillock that has steep slopes on all sides except one side where an artificial platform has been built to reach it from below. The walls of this fort are covered with marble stones while the roofs are covered with red sandstone slabs forming beautiful patterns that make them look like stars in the night sky.
Day 3 - Jaipur to Pushkar
This is the last full day in Jaipur, so head out early and explore the city during your free time. This gives you the opportunity to see things which you may have missed out on some time ago like Albert Hall Museum or Govind Devji Temple. Then we will head towards Pushkar. There are plenty of temples to visit, souvenirs to buy, markets to roam, and colorful festivals and fairs worth attending.
Day 4 - Pushkar to Udaipur
Enjoy a morning of sightseeing with Pushkar, a small town in the Indian state of Rajasthan. The Brahma Temple is an architectural marvel that was built around 100 years ago and houses the biggest temple in India. If you have time, visit the temple again afterwards as there’s a lot more to see in Pushkar. After leaving this magical place behind, drive on toward Udaipur (Royal City) for a short drive through winding mountain roads. With views up to mountains, this is sure to be an adventure by camel through the countryside.
Day 5 - Udaipur Sightseeing
Udaipur is the most romantic city in Rajasthan. Its lakes, palaces, and gardens are well worth seeing. The sunset point on Lake Pichola is a must-visit place while in Udaipur. There are many other places to see in Udaipur like City Palace, Saheliyon Ki Bari Garden, etc.

The museum showcases an impressive collection of ancient arms & armor along with paintings & manuscripts related to different historical periods including the reigns of various rulers of the Marwar region like Rai Bhoj and Prithviraj Chauhan.
Day 9 - Jodhpur to Jaisalmer
Drive from Jodhpur to Jaisalmer. The drive takes about 7 hours and covers nearly 300km of the desert landscape, including the Chambal River. Arrive in Jaisalmer and check into your hotel in the heart of the city, which is known as ‘Golden City' thanks to its yellow buildings.
Day 10- Jaisalmer sightseeing
Blast off on an adventure through the Thar Desert. On this outstanding guided camel safari you'll see some of India's most fascinating sights, like the magnificent Havelis (mansions) and forts. You’ll learn firsthand about the fascinating history and culture of Rajasthan.
Day 11 - Jaisalmer to Bikaner
This morning, you will drive from Jaisalmer to Bikaner. While traveling, enjoy breathtaking views of the desert and visit the Sam Sand Dunes. Stop for lunch at Sam Dunes before proceeding on a sunset camel safari. Retire for the night in one of Bikaner's famous restaurants or explore its markets and bazaars during the day.
Day 12- Departure from Bikaner
Though your adventure concludes with this departure, your memories will continue to fulfill you for the rest of your life.

Conclusion
If you're planning a visit to Rajasthan, I hope this blog post has provided a bit of information as well as inspiration, either on your long-term trip or on something you can do when you're in the region. The only way to truly understand and experience another culture is by living there; so if you are thinking of traveling around the Indian subcontinent or what to do while in India (or any other country for that matter), consider whether visiting one or more of the places on this list would be a good idea.

the day of arrival ebba & isabela were taken to rohan’s naila fort to relax, freshen up and chill. vitor met them there. they had good food. isabela played with some swords, rohan took them on a wee little exploration around the mountain from which they could see quite a bit of jaipur from afar. it is here isabela finds out what they’re really doing there.
the following morning rohan and ebba are off early to meet rohan’s parents in the royal city palace, jaipur for the first time. it is 10x grander than naila. damini attends for moral support (sort of). ebba experiences how high the talwars really are in the hierarchy for the first time. his father is imposing, but eloquent, mother asks if everything is to her liking, whether she is stressed or tired etc. after the regular convo about families, countries and preferences, they talk serious things. it is a pleasant and tensile meeting in equal measure, but the parents like her and this is the important thing.
vitor and isabela have a free morning + afternoon so vitor takes isa exploring in the colourful street markets where street food becomes their breakfast and they look at traditional colourful shoes, accessories, fabrics. the rajasthani locals think isabela is a regular tourist but they remember vitor from the last time, they fawn over him and try to give isabela free things. vitor knew this — he shows off. orders real chai like a local, shows isabela how to drink it like a local.
when ebhan returns, the gang is treated to a feast of tasty traditional rajasthani food (some dishes made less spicy for ebba’s sake), for alcohol, the drink they try is fresh indian coconut toddy.
the following day they go to the races. isabela lives her best life. rohan leaves early to prepare for a road trip. ebba “retires” a good half an hour after him to do the same.
day 4: rohan and ebba travel to udaipur, rajasthan, rohan’s sister’s domain. she lives in the lake palace. it is pretty as hell. and you have to take a boat to get to it. ebba is a little disappointed because reena talwar while polite and diplomatic, is more formal than she expected and hasn’t warmed up to the idea of her yet, but at least she gets to hold and play with the very cute 1 year old meera talwar! lots of videos sent to sol in her baby sunglasses. they spend the night.
meanwhile, vitor and isabela pack their shit and are moved to jaipur city palace. it’s the king and queen’s residence, isabela gets the royal tour and to poke around and see how rohan really grew up. they get the VIP treatment and meet the king and queen, and the queen feeds them to death. vitor introduces isabela to the pet elephant. they play soccer with him. he pretends to eat the ball several times but then gives it back. sprays water at isa.
day 5 morning: ebhan is still in udaipur, rohan whisks ebba away from lake palace with a picnic basket. he takes her far away to another lake. he shows her a place he once told her about. they take in the views, he shows her the old bell the lookout used to ring in the old days. they hang out in the command post sipping rosé and eating the delicious (and spicy) wraps, while he tells her about his dream to show her all of india before her face is splashed all over indian news. they'd start in punjab, make their way east pass delhi then down to the south. and back up again via the west with the last stop being homebase in rajasthan. every state has something completely different to offer. different cuisine, totally different culture and language, different art forms.
meanwhile isabela and vitor were taken to a traditional rajasthani puppet and circus show. when ebhan returns later the same day, the gang reunites and they tour 3 other hugely grand palaces in jaipur. ebba spends more time with rohan’s parents that night.
on the last day the girls get to go with the queen to some fine boutiques for shopping. the boys had “things to do.”
they return to tokyo with gifts, vitor fucks off back to guatemala where he will await the next time he is showered in food and attention. the end.

Discovering golden triangle tour from Delhi Agra Jaipur India
It was more out of curiosity that we set out to explore the Golden Triangle cities because when they were first recommended a thought that crossed our minds was, "What's so golden about these cities?" So set out we did and were we in for one of the most pleasant and satisfying of journeys that any traveler can take on. Of course, the prospect of being in India, a country known for its splendor, thrills, hospitality and a fair share of misadventures (for the non-cautious) is in itself overwhelming. Add to that a dash of mystery, a pinch of adventure and a touch of exploration and you've signed up for a memorable holiday.
Our journey started at New Delhi, India's capital and the nucleus city of all Golden Triangle tours. It couldn't have been a better start or a greater precursor to the tour. Delhi is a comfortable city, especially for first-timers to India. For those of us who are wary of hitching an elephant ride from the airport to our hotels or running into snake charmers and fakirs, New Delhi is quite an eye-opener and an exact opposite of our pre-conceived notion of India.
The city's comfort with modernity is very obvious. From good transportation to clean roads to a population that appears at ease with foreigners, New Delhi is indeed worthy of being India's capital. But what's the most mesmerizing of its features is how easily the city blends the old and new. When you see buses and cars whizzing past the Red Fort or the Qutub Minar jutting right behind some modern high-rises, what strikes you is the beauty with which Delhi has preserved its glorious past while simultaneously accommodating the new. Neither the new facades and edifices nor the historical ramparts and ruins look out of place. And that's not all; the goldenness of Delhi gets transferred to its cuisine.
Out next stop was Agra where we realized how the hype about the Taj Mahal was understated. The Taj is surreally beautiful. Love and melancholy emanate from every stone, every carving and it's as if the monument speaks to you. You need a complete day to do justice to the Taj. Agra also plays host to a few more wonders such as the Fatehpur Sikri and the Red Fort which may not be among the seven wonders but are good rivals for the Taj.
A trip to Jaipur is what completes a typical Golden Triangle Tour and my, what a way to complete any journey! The sheer contrast between the landscapes and sights of Agra and Jaipur is itself breathtaking. The crowned heads of Rajasthan have left behind such wonders that you can't but envy them. Fortunately, its one place in India where you get to experience royalty just the way the royals did. From being serenaded to pampered to indulged, you'll only be the greediest person alive to ask for more! In addition to being just what a tourist wants Jaipur throws in a few extras such as wildlife sanctuaries, desert safaris and the works.
So it's safe to say we discovered the goldenness in the golden triangle cities. In fact, it was rather obvious from the day the journey started!
The Best Time to Travel to North India
The weather of India is diverse like its demographics. The option to holiday comes with a dish of variety in climate conditions in various parts of the country. Sometime there is a blanket of snow in Ladakh, while the lash of monsoon rains wet the northern zone between July-August. The best time to travel to North India depends on the destinations visited and the climate there. Tourists coming to North India experience three distinct seasons of summer, monsoon, and winter. In most parts of North India, especially the cities of Delhi NCR have extreme temperatures during winter and summer. The North-central region is even more hot and dry. For foreign tourists touring India, the best time to travel to North India is during winters. This is because it is pleasant for day trips. The humid summers are from March- October with mild spells of rain.
Delhi, Agra, Jaipur tour, the Golden Triangle is best made in October to February if you want to avoid the heat. Winters come as a blessing in mid-November to beginning of December. It is pleasant then for an India Golden Triangle tour. By December end, the temperatures tend to dip much below the normal and chilling with 4-5 degree Celsius. Yet, the cold seems never to deter the spirits of the tourists who enjoy the many festivals, fairs, exhibitions, and food fests across the region. Jaipur, the capital city of Rajasthan has cold nights than the days.
Hill stations have excellent climate during summer months on the lowlands. There is no snowfall in Nainital or Shimla in May-June, yet the climate is perfect for a romantic North India tour. There is fresh air that would allow you to explore the region well without wiping off sweat. The national parks and wildlife sanctuaries are overcrowded with tourists. The animals are always out in the open under the mild sun there. The stunning landscape of Shimla during summer offers a picture perfect backdrop after a little drizzle. Typically even Jammu and Kashmir is paradise in summer more for the cool breeze you would enjoy along Dal Lake. It is hard to miss Jammu and Kasmir during North India tour packages. Popularly called the "Paradise on Earth", the charm and beauty gets enhanced on a sunny day. In winter, you will wake up to find the Dal Lake frozen to the core. The "Shikara" or houseboat experience will be nil between December- January. The popular time of visiting Kashmir Valley is from May- November.
Allahabad and Varanasi are the North-cultural zone of the country. Varanasi is heated up in May-June. The temperatures vary from 35 degrees to up to 42 degrees with dry winds making day trips uncomfortable. It is better to plan for Varanasi from October to December. Moving to Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh, the neighboring places of Delhi, the monsoon is never heavy. The rains instead make these major cities pleasant for a tight night sleep. April to August is however the off season, but good to bag a great hotel or shopping deal at discount prices.
Visit The Three Jewels Of Indian Civilization With a Triangle Tour Of North India
India - The land of many mysteries is probably the most widely used tourist destinations in the world. People from across the globe arrive at India to enjoy a thrilling and fulfilling vacation. India is a potpourri of many cultures and religions. Home to many religions, languages and ethnicity India proudly calls itself "Unity in Diversity".  Indian geography can be as varied since its culture. On the north it's the Great Himalayans, inside south they have serene backwaters and beaches, inside west has beautiful deserts and east have mesmerizing tea plantations and hills.
To get the essence of Indian culture and history you must undertake the famous triangle tour which takes care of three of the very most famous cities of India- namely Delhi, Jaipur and Agra. Delhi the capital of India is mixture of old and new. Delhi has been the throne of several kingdoms. Old Delhi area continues to have the old world charm of Mogul era. It has Jama Majid, Lal Qila and other famous Mogul architecture. Other famous sightseeing choices are India Gate, Lotus Temple, Qutumb Minar, Humayun's Tomb, and Birla Mandir etc. Modern Delhi even offers many swanky malls and buildings which you could get everything under sun. Shopping in Delhi is surely an indulging activity. The famous Janpath market attracts many tourists. Sarojni Nagar, Lajpath Nagar and Palika Bazaar are also famous shops.
Jaipur is the capital city of Rajasthan which is famous as "the pink city". Jaipur includes a royal history which can be still visible inside architecture and culture of the city. Jaipur is known for its majestic palaces, royal forts and colorful culture. The city has many famous buildings and forts like Jal Mahal, which has been constructed being a recreational centre for your royals of Jaipur. Hawa Mahal popularly referred to as "The Wind Palace" is really a mesmerizing building which provides a bird eye view from the whole city. Amer Fort, City Palace, Jaigarh fort, Jantar Mantar and Nahargarh Fort is also another famous architectural marvel in Jaipur. You also must see Sisodia Rani ka Bagh, Govind Ji Temple and Birla Temple. Shopping in Jaipur means a lot of color and vibrancy. You can get handicrafts items, chunri and jewelries. Food in Jaipur is absolutely delicious and spicy. Enjoy Dal-Bati Churma, Gatte ki Sabzi and Kulfi in Jaipur restaurants.
Agra is world famous for Taj Mahal. Built by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his late wife Mumtaz Maha, this building is known as the Symbol of Love. It took a lot more than twenty years to construct Taj Mahal. White marbles were brought entirely from Rajasthan to coinstruct Taj Mahal. Other places worth visiting in Agra are Sikandra and Fatehpur Sikri both built with the great emperor Akbar. Chini ka Roza, Itmad-ud Daula, Dayal Bagh, and Mariyam tomb etc. Shooping in Agra is fun. You can get  mini Taj Mahal's as souvenirs, handicrafts item manufactured by local artisans. Food in Agra is Mogul cuisine that's non-vegetarian based. But vegetarians also have a great deal of options to select. Agra's Panchhi Petha will be the most popular sweet shop in Agra.

Golden Triangle Tour: The Best Things to Do
The golden triangle, as we commonly know it, is the Delhi Jaipur Agra Tour circuit – the top 3 towns in India for tourists. If you have planned a Golden Triangle Tour, especially for the first time, your itinerary can be overwhelming. If it is, maybe a little guidance can help you make your trip to India more memorable and enjoyable. Here are the best ventures to go on your golden triangle journey in India.
Tumblr media
DELHI
Your tour starts and ends in India’s bustling capital city, Delhi. So let’s first see what you can enjoy in the old and new parts of the town.
Pay your respects at the India Gate: The India Gate is an ancient Indian structure representing India. The war memorial has names of war martyrs inscribed, which looks glorious and elegant.
Explore the peaks of India’s power: If you want to know where we take the most critical decisions for the country, then take a visit to the Rashtrapati Bhawan, the Parliament House, and the Secretariat Building.
Explore the cultural side: After experiencing some politics, it’s time to explore the capital’s culture. I give you the Red Fort, Jama Masjid, Lotus Temple, and Qutub Minar.
Enjoy Qawwalis: To relax, refresh, and rejuvenate after a long adventure in Delhi, you can visit the Hazrat Nizammudin Dargah and indulge in the slow and soothing Qawwalis while enjoying the evening sun and quant environment at the place of god.
Hungry! grab some street food: Delhi is also the food capital of India, so street food is also widespread and famous. Of course, Delhi is renowned for Cholle Kulche, but since it’s the capital city of India, variety from each state is available and sizzling.
Time to move to Agra: Now it’s time to visit your next destination, Agra, but the path is your choice. I recommend a long journey via the highway surrounded by greenery and listening to Indian music. Imagine that.
AGRA
The home of the Taj Mahal is. Next, we all know the beautiful white marbled structure, but there are many more things to do in Agra. So let’s take a peek.
Taj Mahal: The first one here is the Taj Mahal. However, Taj Mahal Tours from Delhi are available. More on that later. The first feeling that comes to mind when we see it is “overwhelming.” I will leave you with that note.
A different view of the Taj: Coming straight to the point, it’s now time to look at the fading Taj Mahal from afar, boating in the quant and beautiful river, the Yamuna.
Feel like a royal person: Agra is famous for the Agra Fort. Walking through the magnificent structure is an experience you don’t want to miss, especially if you like ancient structures.
Savor the sweets: I recommend the Pethas of Agra if you have a sweet tooth. These colorful sweets look like jelly and also taste amazing.
Explore the Fatehpur Sikri: It used to be the capital of the Mughals, but now it is a heritage site visited by 10s and 1000s of tourists every year.
JAIPUR
The Pink City of Rajasthan and one of the cities where the Rajput glory and bravery still come alive; it’s the city that will leave a long-lasting impression on you.
Start at the Amber Fort: Also known as the Amer Fort, this is where the history and heritage of Jaipur’s Rajput kings lies and can be relived.
Explore Jaipur: Hawa Mahal, Jantar Mantar, Jal Mahal, and other structures of the old city will tell you why Jaipur is last in this package. If you didn’t get it, the phrase always keeps the best for last fits here perfectly.
Take souvenirs: Explore and buy authentic Rajasthani items at the Bazaars, such as Saris, puppets, block-printed goods, etc.
Chowki Dhani is all about fun: For a fun and memorable time, you can reminisce and visit the Chowki Dhani. On this village-like tourist site, the Kalbeliya tribe takes pride in showcasing traditional music and dance.
Are you a movie-holic? Raj Mandir is not your ordinary cinema house. On the contrary, it’s the grandest cinema in Jaipur. From mouth-watering snacks to the fantastic picture quality and sound effects, it gives you an unforgettable experience.
So that was a wrap on the golden triangle of India. India by Car and Driver wishes you a happy journey. Thank you for reading.
FAQ:
Best time to visit Delhi, Jaipur, and Agra?
You can visit India’s City of Rallies, the Pink City of Rajasthan, and the City of Taj included in your India Tour Package at any time of the year. However, we recommend August to March and avoiding April to July.
